THE BAY is coming back for its next chapter and turning itself on its ear!  According to their official press release: “The highly anticipated Emmy-nominated serial drama THE BAY the Series returns with an all new chapter on Thursday, Dec. 5th when two brand new installments will stream back to back at 3:15pm ET / 12:15pm PT. Edgy, sexier and more scandalous than ever before, this all new chapter of The Bay will take a bite out of the popular E.L. James novel 50 Shades as Grey as the series delves deeper into forbidden love, taboo sex, and riveting political scandals. Viewers can expect to see new obsessions unfold not only when the first same sex love affair ignites, but when old flames refuse to die. The much anticipated new chapter includes returning favorites Mary Beth Evans (Sara Garrett), Tristan Rogers (Comm. Lex Martin), Kristos Andrews (Peter Garrett), Matthew Ashford (Steve Jensen), Nicolas Coster (Mayor Jack Madison), Jackie Zeman (Sofia Madison), Lilly Melgar (Janice Ramos), and many more.

With an impressive roster of daytime talent behind the scenes, the new chapter of THE BAY was shot for the first time in a multi-camera format, giving it a studio feel. The series is edited by the multi-winning editor of ABC’s All My Children Anthony Pascarelli, who currently serves as an editor for The Bold and the Beautiful and a producer of THE BAY. In the position of supervising producer of the series is Nadine Aronson of ABC’s All My Children with Josh O’Connell, associate producer of The Young and the Restless and Julie Hanan Carruthers, former executive producer of ABC’s All My Children erving as consultants. THE BAY’s Executive Producer and creator Gregori J. Martin states, “They, in addition to others with extensive production experience, have succeeded in helping take the show to an exciting new level!”

I’m looking forward to it. It’s been a long time since we got to see an installment. I wonder what happened to Sara. When we left her, Sara was being held by Steve Jenson and was clearly in some kind of jeopardy. And what of Lee? Is he really dead?

‘Queen Sugar’ Gets Season 6 Renewal by OWN; Ahead of its Season 5 Premiere

A month before its 5th season is set to bow, Queen Sugar has been renewed for its sixth season by OWN as it was announced on Thursday.  The first of its 10 episode season will drop on February 16th.

Set in rural Louisiana and the fictional community of St. Josephine, the series focuses on the trio of Bordelon siblings, played by Dawn-Lyen Gardner, Rutina Wesley and Kofi Siriboe, and their extended family.  Days of our Lives favorite, Greg Vaughan (Ex-Eric), has been previously recurring on the show in the role of Calvin.

Queen Sugar creator Ava DuVernay said of the pick-up to Deadline: “What a joy and an honor to continue the stories of Queen Sugar.  On behalf of every producer, editor, costumer, grip, writer, cast member and all departments involved in making this series, we’re delighted to delve into a sixth season and to bring our beautiful audience more of the Bordelon family.”

After having to shut down production due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it gave DuVernay time to retool the series remaining season episode and to incorporate the pandemic, and the Black Lives Matter protests of last summer and the general election. Production on Season 5 of the series did not begin until September of last year and ran till December 2020.

In a statement, Oprah Winfrey shared: “The way Ava creates space to allow these characters to embody real-world experiences is television at its finest and we are proud to continue this ground-breaking series. I hear from so many people that they see themselves in the Bordelon family, and my hope is that through this kind of storytelling the hearts and minds of people are opened for a deeper understanding and empathy of one another.”

Greg Vaughan shared via Instagram on the renewal: “Let’s GO!!! 🎉💥🎉💥@queensugarown @warnerbrostv #QS6 #breakingnews”
