The Billy Miller General Hospital Promo: It's A Whole New Side Of Jason!

“What if your missing husband … father … enforcer  …. suddenly came back?  Would you care what he looked like? It’s a whole new side of Jason!”

That is what the new ABC promo officially ushering Billy Miller in the role of General Hospital’s Jason says! With this, ABC starts a whole new era of Jason Morgan (formerly played by Y&R’s Steve Burton) with the arrival of three-time Daytime Emmy winner, Miller in the pivotal role.  And from the looks of this spot, GH is planning on keeping Mr.  Miller front and center stage … where he should be!

In story as of now, Jason is recovering from serious injuries sustained from being mowed down by the car driven by a hysterical Ava Jerome (Maura West)! Wrapped in bandages and unable to recall is life, no one knows that “John Doe” is Jason with a new face!  And as GH previews in the promo for next week … we will being to see much more of Billy Miller!

Watch the  promo after the jump! Then let us know, if you are looking forward to seeing how Jason’s path to those he loves plays out?  And, if you are already digging Billy as Jason even those he has just had a few lines of dialog?

i’m loving it. Billy Miller is amazing….

ME TOO….just want Sam and Jason back though! Would make it perfect; a first in soap opera history! lol

I would love to see Jason and Sam together they were awesome together

Sorry, Chrissy. Not this Jason. I promise to eat crow if I’m wrong !

Srry but not only jason and sam but I want him working with sonny again and get intouch with michael and get michael to forgive sonny

Is this your first time seeing Billy Miller act?

I didn’t watch GH at all during the Jason years. So, the whole character & the actor is new to me. I have nothing to compare this portrayal with, so I guess that’s good. I do like Britt & Nick together though. So, IMO, it’s fine if Elizabeth is coupled with Jason while Sam & Patrick do their own little dance.

Bill Miller will not be that great as Jason I want Steve as Jason asap he is only on can play Jason. I love General Hospital been watching it since 1967.

Well, that’s not going to happen. Might as well be glad to have a great actor playing a beloved character.

I wasn’t a fan of NuLulu, but I can’t see anyone else playing her now. Love MR in that role. Jason will be great!

OMG. Blasphemy!!!!…kidding, Keith.
Are you familiar with Billy’s acting?

Watch Y&R, then. I want Billy.

Yes he is! You are lucky GH fans to get him, we sure miss him at Y&R.

Love Billy Miller.. But this new Jason talks to much!!

From what I’ve seen, Miller is very charming. The problem I have with him is that he is playing the scenes too lighthearted, with too much humour. No, he doesn’t have to imitate and play “stone cold”. But for a character that supposedly has no memory or family, he’s awfully happy, joking, and hasn’t a care in the world. He seems to be playing the same way he played on Y&R, but it’s a different scenario. More nuance, sir!

Seems interesting so far…just will have to wait and see how it all plays out once everyone finds out who he really is…hopefully sooner than later!!!

Really looking forward to his storyline!

He’s made the show more interesting plus we are seeing Monica again…a double win!!!

I enjoyed seeing Monica love her to death..I am glad she is getting her dating on, it has been far too long….Billy Miller as Jason will be fine. Out of all the Actors I could only see him playing the roll. He knows Steve Burton and when Steve left the roll of Jason and moved to Y&R, Billy Miller was there. It was like it was meant to be Steve handed the roll over to Billy. It is all okay!

I hope this version of Jason is a Quartermaine doctor! Bring back the Q’s! Love seeing Ned, again. Always love Tracy!

Agree with you all–I want Jason back as a Quartermaine, living at the Q mansion. Let’s hope his accident caused brain damage (in a good way) and converted him away from being a criminal hoodlum like Sonny and Company.

I am liking Billy Miller…glad to have Jason back on the canvas. I am really looking forward to an Emmy winner taking on this role. GH has so many excellent actor and actresses.

Well to be fair Jake, Steve Burton won a Best Supporting Actor Emmy for his role as Jason in 1998. Billy Miller has won 3 Emmys for Y&R, 2 for Best Supporting Actor Emmys in 2010 & 2013, and BEST ACTOR in 2014.
Very excited to have BM on GH. This show is indeed packed FULL of amazing talent right now. Great time for them.

I’m really looking forward to seeing Billy play this roll. I started watching Y&R 7 yrs ago and his acting is outstanding! So far I love the connection between him and Elizabeth,Rebecca is outstanding too. They need to give her more to bring her greatness back . In her acting…Feeling Excited 🙂

I don’t wTch Y&R but I did see him on All My Children and he was good, so personally I have no problem with his acting. I just hope he has the right chemistry with who he needs/supposed to have it with. As you said , time will tell.

Billy Miller has chemistry with everyone he works with. He’s just terrific. GH has scored a MAJOR coup signing him. Y&R’s loss, and I mean a huge loss.

I agree, Tina. And it sounds kinda silly, but there is something serendipitous about the way SB allegedly fibbed to his fans about why he was leaving GH (although I do believe he did move to Nashville & the man has a right to move on), but then moved to Y&R w/the departing GH Executive Producer, JFP, when she was hired at Y&R, and THEN, she allegedly ran off or fired many of the top talent and fan favorites all at once. She alienated their target age demographic, 18-49 & lost almost a million viewers by refusing to fight for fan favorites, stellar actors! Then, allegedly, insulted ALL Y&R fans by saying people would forget Billy Miller’s name the day after his last airdate (WRONG!)..after the man won 2 Emmys for the show & another AFTER he was long gone. Sorry, some of me takes pleasure in the fact that GH has BM and SB has Y&R & they have him, JFP ALLEGEDLY flies him back and forth from Nashville to shoot each week. Now I don’t care who she flies and it’s her business and her job, but I find it odd she couldn’t work w/BM in regard to a clause in his contract, but can do all of that other stuff for a new character. The fans have nicknamed his Dylan character “Dullen”..a fact!
I know it’s childish, but I think it’s funny we got MS, ER, MW (another EP fired her) & BM, and Y&R got SB! Say what you will about Cartini folks, but I didn’t see a slaughter of such epic proportions when they signed up to GH. They hired their favorites, sure, but they didn’t ax fan favs. Sure they are too cast heavy right now, but they seem to work it pretty well. JMO

Seriously? JFP said fans would forget Billy Miller after he left?! Nope, sorry Jill, we didn’t forget Billy Miller at all. In fact many of us dumped Y&R after he left. That’s ok, you do have Dullen….

Why do people have to insult Steve? Everyone is making it about BM. I’m more interested in the character of Jason. If they are going to change the character to fit BM then I don’t want him. I don’t care how good of an actor he is. I wasn’t a fan of the character he played Y&R at all. So, I really didn’t miss him. I’ll take Dullen over that loser Billy any day.

He was soooo much better on Y&R than AMC, IMO, but AMC was his first soap role and really expanded his acting and role on Y&R over 6 years, IMO. He’s at the top of his game, thus far, right now!

I thought he was terrific on AMC. He was handed some pretty lousy material but he rose above it. Back then, every male character was sacrificed to the Ryan Lavery volcano.

Brilliant, I just bet he will kick it up on all levels, proves he is now at the right place. Go Billy, go on with your bad (good) self!!!

So happy Billy Miller is on GH.

As I mentioned in another post, Billy Miller has brought me back to GH after a long absence. I can’t wait to see his story line unfold! 🙂

For me, I started watching occasionally when Thaao Penghlis came back, then Donna Mills was hired and I watched more frequently, then they brough on Michelle Stafford and it was almost everyday, and now with Billy Miller, I’m back to full-fledged watching. It just goes to show how powerful actors really are to a soap. Y&R lost 3 of their top talents, and it really shows. Now GH has 2 of them.

Speaking of Donna Mills, Jimmy, I was thrilled by Friday’s big moment when Mutter and Magda met….again!!! At last these mavens of maternal madness are reunited for “Round Two!”…..perhaps they will use their latest confab to compare successful parenting techniques? Regardless, it is time to unleash Liesl back at large into the Port Charles population so she can do what she does best…meddle and wreak mayhem!!!! (And may I humbly suggest she hightail her Bavarian Butt over to GH where there is a very sinister baby-killing scheme in progress? I sooooo want Dr. O. to be the one to discover this plot and its perfidious perpetrator!!!!! Only a Westbourne-style retribution will do for this dastardly deed!)

Shay, perhaps Dr O can help her daughter seek revenge against Silas.
Today as he learned just how evil his precious Nina was, his face just fell. I mean this is the girl for whom he waxed poetic for the past year or so.
Watching his face fall with realization was akin to watching Big Bird realize that not only is the Snuffleopulas real, he’s a real psychotic arse hole.

If they change the character of Jason too much. I won’t be watching.

Ok, scyren. No one cares.

Loving it! Can’t wait for more. So happy Killer Miller is part of the GH family!

Wasn’t watching when the original Jason was on. I know about the character and his history, but have no preconceived ideas on how Jason should be– but I thought it was very clever and telling that they had Billy in a white Tee shirt, when apparently the old Jason only wore black– I think that about says it all on what we should expect from nuJason.

Mary, what an insightful observation! Billy wearing a white Tee in contrast to Steve’s black. As you so eloquently are hinting , the mere color is very ‘telling’ , actually foretelling that nuJason will be completely different from the Jason with which the audience was familiar. How intuitive of you!

Great observations! Has anyone noticed that Sam quit wearing all black a while ago? She wears white a lot….. Hmmmm.

I must add, Mary, that I admire your prophetic observation. ….to elaborate….great symbolism by TPTB……white, the symbol of purity and goodness. Also, it could represent a fresh, new and clean start for Jason.
Now, that you brought this up, Mary? All sorts of ideas are invading my brain…LOL.

Great observation. I hope he is the Lone Ranger and not Black Bart! I want Jason away from Sonny and in lab coat on GH with his mummy! [Alan would be so proud!]

White is actually multilayered and somewhat paradoxical with its symbolic significance. Sometimes, yes, it can signify purity and innocence, but often it is symbolic of death (think Tennessee William’s play, “Suddenly Last Summer” in which Sebastian is on the white beach, with the white birds running down the white street toward certain death with the backdrop of the white sky looking down at the death scene like a silent witness). Springing forth from the death imagery, white comes to symbolize rebirth, resurrection which would fit accordingly with Jason rising from the waters of Port Charles.
Or….it could simply mean that Billy Miller now own this role.

Thanks Harry, good info. So when a bride wears white on her wedding day its suppose to be a symbol of purity. Could it mean that she is heading towards her demise? Also, women often like to have whit doves released on their wedding day. I’M CONFUSED!

As I intimated earlier, Timmm, white does symbolize purity, supposedly, that is the reason brides wear white. But, in reality, who is virginal anymore? It has only become traditional, mainly in the western world.
As Mary observed, nuJason is wearing a white Tee. To me it is this stark contrast that is a dead give-away to expect a completely different Jason, not just the person, but the persona; his mien….
I vaguely remember dissecting SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER in my 11th or 12th grade English Lit. Class…..the white bathing suit worn by Catherine did symbolize her purity, albeit the transparency of it gave the scenario in the water a baser meaning. So, Harry is right when he says that the color white takes a darker, more sinister meaning because of Sebastian’s deviltry… I getting it right, Harry?
However, in this case, I think the white Tee basically emphasizes the marked difference between the two Jasons….JMO.
I always thought that the release of white doves, Timmm, was also a symbol of purity ; in other words a bride gives herself to her husband freely and willingly by giving him her virginity. Thus, the release of the symbolic doves.
Very archaic, Timmm, no? LOL.

Yes, MarySF, as soon as I saw that white tee-shirt, I also gleaned that this is a symbolic omen that Billy Miller is not going to be the same version of Jason that SB portrayed….thank God! Although I felt no actual animus for that particular Mr. Morgan, I really just tolerated him and felt no great loss when the actor who portrayed him chose to leave the show. Hence, I am greatly intrigued that a new (and improved?) Jason is on the drawing board…..hopefully much less emotionally stunted, “dark” and criminal in nature!!!!

The white tee jumped out at me too. All of you have great insight. I hope the hitman persona died when Jason went off Pier 52. Paging Dr. Jason Quartermaine…

Awesome promo! Steve who?!?! Billy’s our man!!!

It’s MILLER TIME in Port Charles!

I’m not familiar with Mr. Miller’s work previous to GH. But I’m looking forward to the story. I just hope this will not drag out. He needs to remember soon, and/or have people recognize him in some way. Even though they are not really Jason’s eyes, he did not get new eyeballs. People need to remember his eyes.It was stupid showing Steve . We need to believe those are Jason’s eyes.

Not only that but even though he has a different voice in real life, they should technically still recognize Jason’s voice. To them it shouldn’t have changed…

I think they somewhat explained that when Jason ripped out his breathing tube at the clinic, Robin mentioned he damaged his vocal chords and there was swelling. So I have been assuming that explains why his voice no longer sounds the same. But sometimes soaps just expect us to go with it– even if it makes little sense in the real world.

Thats true but sometimes you are just caught off guard. Even if its in real life. No one has suspicion that Jason is alive so they are not looking in John Doe’s eyes or listening closely to his voice YET!

i am loving Billy Miller as Jason and so can’t wait till Sam finds out that Jason her husband and father of her their son Danny is back. Looking forward to the coming weeks as Billy Miller playing Jason Morgan.

Let’s just hope Billy will be Jason Q.

I would run down to the local church and say a triple prayer if I thought it would work!

Timm, we shall see around Christmas time.
If Jason comes down the stairs of the Q mansion on Christmas morning wearing a red sweater with reindeer on it, it’s the old Jason Quartermaine.

That would be awesome. A Very Quartermaine Christmas. I’m sure Monica left a few of his sweaters in a cedar chest for safe keeping.

On the subject of “sweaters,” WHERE did Patrick find that grandfatherly model he was “stylin'” on Friday…..Mr. Rogers’

@Harry….In response to your “Dr. O.” comment, I have to say that I was simply enchanted with the “Everything’s coming up Liesel” episode of Monday. I realize she is not your cup of tea, but her “Swiss Sisses” mash-up with Magda just thrilled me to no end….particularly since Mutter basically validated my lengthy theory I posited at the bottom of this page yesterday morning…In other words, yep, Nina was always a nutter….let’s just say that her mental shortcomings were in-(West)bourne, and the coma only intensified whatever psychoses were already present. I think Silas knew way back when but was in a guilt-induced state of denial due to his infidelity and Nina’s subsequent 20+year session with the Sandman. It was hugely satisfying to see Dr.Clay’s current suspicions confirmed…..especially when he got a load of those twisted texts his desperate wifey kept sending. (How ’bout the copious use of those emoticons???? That right there is conclusive evidence the broad is totally off her rocker…..LOL!) Now if he can only lock her up and throw away the key…although not in proximity to the that “Lunatique Extraordinaire,” Heather Webber!!!! Can you just imagine if those two joined forces given their common ties to Franco???? As for “Auntie Liesel” helping her niece obtain revenge over Silas….I’m not so sure I’d want to see that….Obrecht does have moments of brilliant lucidity when she actually does the right thing….she certainly correctly called out Madeline on her cuckoo kid’s history of instability!

This is still kind of raw & too soon for me, since I hated to see him leaving the role as “Billy Abbot” on CBS’ Y & R, (which he was brilliant in). However, Billy Miller is an amazing talent with a whole lot of talent & charisma. If any one is able to fill Steve Burton’s shoes as “Jason”, it’s Billy Miller. Great choice ABC!

Nooooo! With all due respect, Billy Miller will NOT fill Steve Burton’s shoes…..NEVER. They are so different….just as opposite as the black and white T-shirts Mary pointed out.
Billy will bring a gorgeous smile to Jason’s face. We do not need another marble face worn by SB, nor do we need another moping stiff (ME) roaming the halls of GH.
If that should eveR happen, Midwest? I will post a “you were right” comment…LOL

Thats why down the road it would be cool if Steve came back from the clutches of the Cassadines and Billy Miller was an impostor. A handsome impostor. Mater of fact, he could be Jason’s twin and not Franco!

@Timmm…yeah, that WOULD be a twisted twist, now, wouldn’t it? I like it !

I think Steve Burton said himself that Billy Miller would make an awesome Jason. It seems Steve has really moved on and has no intention, at least not now of returning to play Jason. He likes being on Y&R.

Steve Burton has thrown his lot in with Jill Farren Phelps. He’s not leaving Y&R as long as she’s there. Once she’s fired, he’ll exit too. Maybe then Billy Miller might return to Y&R. I don’t think Burton will ever be welcomed back to GH now.

Exactly, CeeCee!!! Goodbye “Stone Cold,” hello “Hot Stuff!” Jason’s temperature has already hit a new high—no pun intended—–with Billy Miller’s welcome warmth-filled debut in the role of the previously icy hard guy. Cartini got this one right…..

You people do realize that Jason has brain damage and that is why he acted the way he did. I don’t get why everyone is so excited that they are going to drastically change the character. They could have just created a new character. I think people care more about BM then they do character integrity. I actually liked that Jason was a completely unique character. There was no one like him on daytime. He was stone cold for a reason because supposedly he was wired differently. I guess being road kill magically made his brain damage disappeared. So stupid.

Dear Scyren:

Please avoid prefacing your assertions to others with “you people.” Those two words will make you lose your audience faster than Justin Bieber singing “Purple Haze.”

I’m loving it too! Indeed Billy Miller is always amazing!

Yes, he is. Are you in Abruzzi right now? ….or are you from Abruzzi? I hope I haven’t put my foot in it again….LOL.

CeeCee – yes my parents are from Abruzzi! How did you guess 🙂 Are you from there too?

Buon giorno, abbruzzfan….no, I’m not from Abbruzzi, but, my mother-in-law is from Torre de’ Passeri, Pescara. I visit there with the family every year……gorgeous and lush countryside, as is the entire coastal Adriatic region. Well, the western side (Tyrrhenian Sea) isn’t too shabby either.

Thanks for replying. I am glad to make your acquaintance ….I am sure we will exchange opinions on storylines and characters in the immediate future. Ciao.

Ciao Cee Cee! My parents are from L’Aquila in Abruzzi. I have several wonderful Aunts from Pescara. Pescara has great seafood and is so beautiful! Nice to meet you and chat with you, too. I am in SoCal. How about you?

Ciao, abruzzfan. You are so lucky to live in S. Cal.
I live in S.Hamp, NY, about a two-hour drive from NYC.
It’s beautifully quaint here, but I HATE snow…LOL.
Yes, southern Italy has the best beaches, the best food, the best everything, even the best husbands….LOL….later

I am already a HUGE fan of Billy Miller. I cant wait to see him. I am already enjoying it. Hurry Up Oct 13. So want Jason and Sam reconnecting.

I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think this time around he’s going to fall in love with Elizabeth again…as Jason “Morgan” won’t exist anymore…which I think will be great! (I love Sam…but I think the Jason that loved her…and whom she loved….will no longer exist.) Leaves the door open for Sam and Patrick (or Silas, not sure where they’re going with that).

I would truly LOVE that, JASON & ELIZABETH finally getting their chance
at happiness.

@Fanny…we shall see…should be interesting (and fun!)

I Would have came back, a little bit confuse, I would wonder whom am I, am I married, I would to see my mother, my friends, and MY WIFE….and I hope I will have a lot of support…..Jason should get a lot of therapy,…..But the important thing he should take it nice and slow…..Don’t get on the Liz train so fast…..

I like Billy Miller, but if its brain dead ,dead from the neck up. killer for hire .Jason Morgan. TIIC can watch the show themselves. I am done. I was smiling and laughing when Faison shoved Jason is the drink, Now here is another reason to dislike Helena. WTH was Robin thinking bringing back murderers from the dead ? What you do is take the doctor who saved him and tell her. No good deed goes unpunished. Now his wife is bedding her husband. .I can’t , I just can’t.

You and I agree so much, Janet, that we are both on a train to nowhereland, know what I mean?….LOL.

Helena really shouldn’t be alive again. Don’t get me wrong, I love the character and Constance Towers is amazing. But she was shot through the heart and Luke even checked to make sure she was dead – like really dead. IMO it would have been much more powerful if that scene at Creighton-Clark, where Robin sees Helena, if it had been Faison instead. THAT would have been completely unexpected, and with Liesl, Anna and Duke talking about him so much recently, I would have expected it to be him, not Helena. It was a wasted opportunity.

Very true, Jimmy. While I admire the icy elegance—not to mention much-needed glamour—that CT brings to the GH canvas as Helena, her last appearance rather fell flat. There were other super-villains that could have followed her fashionable but felonious footprints in furthering the latest storylines to much better and surprising effect….it feels as if we have all been here before with her (because well, we have!) and it gets tiresome. Furthermore, I would have much preferred a longer arc for Victor…I’m still hoping that one day in the not too far future he will re-emerge to darken Dr. O’s door once again….”Viesel” makes for a seriously scary supercouple!!!!

Speaking of not-so-dead Cassadines, am I the only one who was delighted when Anna revealed that she couldn’t find any evidence of Victor’s demise in order to charge Dr. O. with murder???? That was good news on two fronts…first, it means that Liesel is once again free to roam and raise havoc amongst the denizens of Port Charles, while it also implies there is always the real possibility of a resurgent Victor. Oh, please say it’s so, Cartini!!!!

Should be interesting. Loved Billy on Y & R until I had to stop watching because it became The Victor Newman Hour. However was not a fan of Jason. So how will this shake out? Who knows. I would love if he forgot about Sonny and went back to being a Quartermaine. He could learn to know and love Sam again and love Danny.

To clarify I was literally not a Jason fan, nothing to do with Steve Burton’s acting.

I am loving this !!!!
I knew this Jason would be different, he would be Jason in name only (like Franco)..
This will be a great journey!!!
Billy will rock GH …
GH is bursting with talent..
Once again, FV&RC and Team worked their magic !!! BRAVO!!

(I see Billy having a riot with GH, he no longer is Victoria’s lap dog..
He will have great exciting dramas to portray!!

Welcome Billy Miller!! to your new fun loving home with GH and your new adventure !!!

I am just now starting to watch GH and I’m doing so because of Billy Miller. I loved him on Y&R except I could never see someone as good looking as Billy being matched up with Victoria. I still watch Y&R and love the addition of Steve Burton. He is a great actor and great looking guy.

I always find it strange when I read these comments about Victoria, because I think Amelia Heinle is gorgeous! But of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Welcome to GH!!

I think Amelia is a natural beauty too. I just find Victoria to be as dull as dishwater.

SUOO–I really could not stand Billy with Victoria either.
She was like Diana the Castrating Moon Goddess rendering our Billy passive and impotent.
(sort of like Sparkle Pony and Patrick).

What bothers me most about Jason returning is that they won’t even address how it effects Monica. Its pretty clear from the promo, they never said son. GH has wiped out almost every Q, Jason may have made himself a Morgan, but, with her loosing her family, its a perfect chance to give her a story, & to bring the Q’s back.

I absolutely agree with you. I mentioned in a post above-that I have enjoyed seeing Ned more and that I always love Tracy. It would be the perfect opportunity. I would like to see Jason return as a Quartermaine doctor-saving lives instead of taking them!

This is actually exciting. No, I mean it.
This casting was truly inspired thereby proving that yes, most soap actors can be replaced if that replacement is worthy.
There are three notable exceptions–Tony Geary, Susan Lucci and Erika Slezak.
This is going to be fun.

Dont forget Eric Braeden.

TRUE! I may be in the minority but I LOVE Victor Newman. He cracks me up. The old goat shows up at Nick and Sharon’s place, gives them a bottle of champagne to toast their impending nuptials. When they both leave the room, Old Victor puts on a pair of plastic gloves, grabs Nicholas’s champagne glass, puts in a zip lock bag and then rummages through their little girl’s pink princess back pack so he can nab her pink hair brush and then puts that in a ziplock too. He’s a portable DNA machine.
He’s the utter personfication of a Norman Rockwell grandpa.

Love it!

I was happy to hear the rumors that Billy was considered for the role of Jason. When I read somewhere that the rumors weren’t true I was actually sad about it. Don’t get me wrong, I love Steve Burton but I accepted long ago that he wouldn’t be coming back. If Billy wasn’t casted for the role, I was parting ways with GH! Glad to see that the rumors are true!! The fact that Steve Burton approves sweetens the deal for me. 🙂

i love Billy Miller as Jason Morgan Just want him to remember who he is and soon. Cant stand the ideal of mind control.Seeing Sam hurt and crying after she found out he was alive months ago and now thinks he is dead.I want everyone to find out that Jason is alive .I want most of all his Mother to find out.I love Monica. As for Steve Burton i loved him as Jason Morgan and miss him so much But im glad GH chose Billy Miller. I think when everything is out in the open Billy Miller will make a great Jason Morgan.

I never liked the old Jason – but now I can’t wait for Billy Miller to shine as Jason… He was absolutely marvellous as Billy Abbott on Y&R and now he is terribly missed… Y&R has lost its greatest talents while GH has an unbelievable cast… and the writing rocks!!!! Y&R and B&B have become so predictable and boring shows while nowadays GH is like a primetime show !!!

Boy did you say a mouthful there! I agree with you.

It cracks me up when I go over to Y&R comment pages and read their comments about how far Billy Miller has fallen and how his ego got so big that he left Y&R for the big time and poor thing flopped and had to take GH out of desperation! I mean, really folks? Have you seen your show lately or do you sleep through it like I do?

I thing that seems to be true with GH is that there is clauses in their contracts for actors to take outside & primetime work. Kelly Monaco just did something as well as Parry Shen to name a few. I think that was a deciding factor for Billy to sign on.

When the rumors hit a fever pitch this summer about BM joining GH and TPTB said nothing, I was pretty confident that was a sign that he was coming. The rumors were so out of control that I feel they would have had to eventually deny them in order to not enrage hopefuls by letting the rumors continue. Posters were actually arguing back and forth about whether he was coming or not. Crazy stuff! Now they are all arguing over which woman will get him, Liz or Sam or someone new. I mean the man is still in bandages & the rivalries are raging! That’s good for Billy Miller if you ask me. Apparently many fans think he’s going to work out if they are bothering to fight over him. Lol..

I love this. It’s so nice for GH to be on a nice roll for a change with this amazing cast and fun writers and new viewers coming over for Michelle, Billy, etc…

I say if JFP and Chuck Pratt kill off ANOTHER fan favorite, Emmy Award winning Christian LeBlanc, Cartini needs to put his # on speed dial. Maybe JFP is going to use his death as her Emmy seeking gimmick for this season. Disgusting if you ask me! Don’t throw away your best actors when your show is struggling not to sink! Oh well,

Did Y&R change its policy, Laurie. I remember having seen one or two LIFETIME movies
with Michelle Stafford while still in contracted with Y&R.

I’m excited. Never was a fan of SB and really disliked the Jason character. I too noticed the white t-shirt immediately in the promo and thought oh yay, maybe it’s going to be Jason Q–or at least he’s out of the killing game.

What I do NOT want to see is a return to Sonny, Carly, Jason all sitting around telling each other how great they are. I want Jason to REJECT Carly and Sonny. And get mad, really mad about Sonny killing his brother.

And PLEASE give Liz some happiness.

Yes! I want Jason to be peeved at Sonny too! I don’t want to see him go back to the mob or give Sonny a pass for killing A.J., Carly too for that matter, for helping cover it up. Ideally, I would love to see both Michael and Jason turn their backs on Sonny for good.

From your post to the soap gods ears,Jimmy.

I am a fan of the show in a whole , I hate how hardcore fans just would not let Jason go so now he is back ok, I can take it he is back I hope he is different and works towards good and like working with police or something and not a mob enforcer I rather see sam and silas together and make a family, and Jason and Elizabeth try it again and he reconnect as a Q too bad he and Franco are not brothers cause the look would make more sense now if they was

So instead of being the unique character that he is you want him to be boring like most of the men on the show…..snooze.

Give them time Thomas. The writers have been changing folks identities so many times in the past few years I expect Franco to go through a few more identities and new mom and daddies before they settle on one. He could end up Jason’s brother yet. Lol..

Billy Miller had me at hello! Acting chops and charisma are a deadly combination. GH is a powerhouse of talent and Billy is an inspired addition. The chemistry with Rebecca Herbst is already palpable. Gonna be good!

D-A-M-N!!!!! As a three-time Daytime Emmy winner, Billy Miller is SO RUGGEDLY DREAMY!!!!! HELL YEAH, BABY!!!!! YA’ GOT THAT Jill Farren Phelps?!?!?!?

Don’t get me wrong I love Steve Burton as Jason Morgan. But I am looking forward to having Billy play Jason Morgan. I just can’t wait till he gets back to his wife and son them make lots of more babies.

He left the #1 soap and he will soon be acting on the #1 soap again. GH rules!

Absolutely love Billy Miller! Miss him on Y&R but looking forward to his new role as Jason! <3

Wearing a white T-shirt is definitely new.

I noticed that too! Hopefully they’re alluding that this Jason won’t be Jason Morgan, hopefully Jason Q again! I don’t want him back with Sonny.

Loving Billy Miller as Jason. Frank and Ron did a great job with the promo as well.

Love love love Billy Miller and I can’t wait to see him tackle the role of Jason.

Now all GH needs in Michael Muhney and they will be the #1 daytime show on tv. He has a huge fan base who will follow him anywhere he goes.

Muhney’s been involved in movies since leaving Y&R. He’s either completed or shot four films. Looks like he’s committed to movies right now.

Michael Muhney with GH would rock the soap world !!
I sent a tweet to FV to get on it and bring in Michael Muhney!!
he had better listen to me lol ..
Perhaps I will tweet FV everyday to remind him to bring Michael Muhney to GH ..

Having Billy Miller is a huge huge huge deal!!
Having Michelle is a huge huge huge huge deal
Getting Michael Muhney would be a huge huge huge deal..
The 3 huge … LOL 🙂

Michael Muhney on GH would wonderful. Talk about an audience swing. FV should convince him to come to Port Charles. Sounds like he’s doing a lot of movie work, but I’d love him on GH.

Loving him as Jason! I loved steve burton as Jason before but it was His decision to leave so I will fully embrase Billy as Jason now. Can’t wait to see how this will all play out. I’d Love to see him an edgier quatermaine and not just the old enforcer Jason

Steve Burton was good, Billy Miller will be great. Heres why. Steve mostly played Jason as a one dimensional character, Billy will get to evolve Jason and perhaps that includes Jason being a Q again? I hope. I’m excited for the GH fans who didnt follow Billy on Y&R. You will love him! I cannot wait for his bandages to come off!

The new Jason looks good.. Cannot wait for this day, to come.. 🙂

I guess from all the comments it looks like I’m the only one not happy with this. I will still watch but I can’t help thinking Steve Burton would have done it better or he never would have done his line’s like that. Needless to say I’m sad that someone other than Steve Burton is playing Jason Morgan 🙁

No, you’re not the only one not happy with it. Frank and Ron have done their absolute best to erase everything about 1996-2012 GH, and this is just the icing on the cake for them. They get to throw a big F*you into the face of any fan of Jason Morgan/Steve Burton, by creating their own version of the character. I’m just glad I stopped watching this trainwreck of a show before I forgot how good the show was before they took over.

Wow !

You don’t have to be happy about it. But it happened, so you must accept it. It is NOT the new actor’s fault, so don’t hold it against him.

I wasn’t familiar with Billy other than one or two interviews…I think just from the little I’ve seen that he’s going to be great in the role.

I was wondering why they would have Jason in yet another car accident…lose his memory again…seemed so redundant and unoriginal. However, I think, if I’m right…of course, not sure, but my thinking is it’s done purposely to play out a “what if…” What if…Jason Quarterrmaine hadn’t been in an accident and lost his memory…what would he have become, who would he have loved…using this “vehicle” (pun intended) it’s a great way to explore that. The one thing that punches a whole in the theory is the Cassadines and their plan for him…

Rebecca, good questions.
At least this time they cannot blame AJ for the hit an run! Or can they?

oh snark…i mean Harry… 😉 I’m sure they can!

The Cassadines want Jason back..
they spent a year and millions on him..
Victor said Jason was his..
They created this Jason for a purpose..
they didn’t keep Jason alive out of kindness..

we all know that su0000. that much is obvious.

He is something that might be a little cray-cray! [Nod to CeeCee] What IF when AJ crashed into that tree years ago and Jason Q became Jason Morgan that the Cassadines were already involved in a switch that took place then and will come to fruition if SB ever returns and BM is still on the show? The Billy Miller Jason, off camera, was made to look like Jason and they turned him into Jason Morgan. Now they are switching Jason Morgan back to Jason Q and using Billy Miller’s face. If Steve ever shows up on GH again, we have a story on why there are two Jasons, a hitman, and a doctor. [I promise I havent been drinking!]

No you don’t sound drunk, you sound like a writer from Days of Our Lives— when John Black, was John Doe, then Roman, then the real Roman came back, so John was a Almain, who was a priest, but then not a priest, but a jewel thief, but then wasn’t really a jewel thief, but a brainwashed pawn of Stefano, who was a trained killer, who was really half brothers with Stefano–but now isn’t — aren’t soaps just wonderful, anyone can be anyone the writers want them to be– so your theories aren’t crazy– they are soapy.

Neither have I, (drinking, that is) Timmm, and it makes perfect sense to me.

Michael Muhney to GH STAT!!! I have been hearing that a lot. Other than his name, I know nothing else about him. I never once watched Yand R.

So I am NEUTRAL here.

GH should give him a call. People seem to like him a lot. He could be Lucky Spencer or “ANY” Quartermaine. There’s always room for more Quartermaines.

Michael Muhney is a fantastic actor. He is truly one of the best in the industry. he and Billy Miller shared their final scenes together back at the end of January, and let me tell you, that was some of the best acting and writing I’ve seen on Y&R in a long time. It completely solidified the fact that Y&R has a huge hole missing in it right now after these 2 amazing actors left the show.

But, I’m happy Billy is back on daytime and on GH as Jason. He’ll do great in the role, just like he was great on Y&R. I just hope they allow him to use his charming sense of humour that he has in abundance, and they don’t make Jason as stark and one-dimensional as he was when Steve Burton was in the role.

Michael Muhney is busy in movies now. He’s shot two since leaving Y&R and is presently filming his third. He announced that he’s got another one lined up to begin in January. He’s very busy in films. I think it’s doubtful he’d go back to soaps now. Film and PrimeTime offer more varied roles and opportunities for someone at his level of talent. I’d love to see him on GH, but I think it’s a lot of wishful thinking by fans.

Michael Muhney & Billy Miller were unbelievably breath-taking this past January. I have never seen that level of acting on a soap in the many years I’ve watched. Those two should be on a Primetime or Cable show together. If GH were to convince Muhney to join the cast, the fans would go nuts.

I love Billy Miller, he’s an amazing actor and Y&R really lost out big time when they let him slip away last year. They should have done whatever they needed to do to keep him around, but now it seems like Y&R’s MAJOR loss is GH’s gain.

I’m happy BM is back on daytime and I think he’ll be great as Jason. I already love his scenes with Elizabeth and I’m looking forward to his scenes with Sam and Monica. Steve Burton was good in the role but often times he seemed very one-dimensional. I hope this version of Jason is not going to be Sonny’s right hand man, I want him away from the mob and focused on his wife and son.

FV and RC did not bring the great Billy Miller over to be SB’s double..
they will be giving this Jason a different life..
He will be Jason in name only, no longer working as a hit man.. nope not gonna happen.. ths Jason in going on a new journey..
He will have the Cassadines to deal with, Helena wants him back..
that will be good!

Billy Miller was a very bad guy on AMC, he can do dark, very well!!
.. exciting to see what RC has planed for him..

I agree with what you wrote, Jimmy, except for nuJason and Sam being together and picking up where they left off… will not work. I doubt if it’s in the GH ‘cards’. I think that Billy Miller ,as Jason, and Sam will mix like oil and water…..they will not mesh. JMO.

For those who are fans of Billy and are familiar with his playful personality, which unmistakably comes through his acting, know what an injustice it would be to pair him with Sam. She will drag him down…just as Victoria did.

I don’t know much about JM and JQ, but from what I have gathered, Billy Miller would be better suited playing JQ. At least, I hope so. I am not into mobsters and affiliating nuJason with Sonny is just such a no-no for me.

And, unless I’m really off the mark here, there is no way that Billy Miller’s persona, even in his role-playing, will fit into Jason Morgan’s skin.

I know BM is a huge talent and has played the typical psychopath on AMC, but, that was so long ago and so brief that it’s forgotten. I like his charismatic happy-go-lucky, infectious personality to be injected into Jason Q.

Y&R is doing fine without him. At least the show is watchable. GH is not.

Cee Cee they are going to change the character to fit BM’s personality (gag). So, we’ll get some pod Jason. Jason Q was a bore. I have no desire to see the same cookie cutter character as most of the men on the show. Jason M. was so unique and edgy. I just don’t think BM is the right man to play him.

Billy Miller, I like him already. He has already proven to be a better Jason. I don’t even think he had 20 lines yet. I’m convinced. Welcome to Port Charles Billy Miller.

We don’t know what this Jason will be like..
The Cassadines kept him alive or brought him back from the dead because they wanted him, he is Victors..(project?
They did not revive Jason because they were kind and love him, they have a reason for the million they put into Jason and the years time, and Helena wants Jason!!!
There is something weird going on..

Well put, Su.

I hope he acts more like Jason Q than Jason M. A Combo would be a plus.

Either one is better than what he was at Y&R..
He was Victorias lap dog and Victors whipping post..
Now, Billy can soar and really use his great acting talents, he is a versatile actor, this change is good for him..he can be somebody other than Victoria’s Billy..

Billy Miller can’t get away from characters named Victor since I’m sure Victor Cassadine is not really dead.

Again, Su, definitely concur.

Victor! Victoria!

why don’t they run fingerprints to see if they can id him? he is most certainly in the system!

Ah…they just did that today, Christy. Wondering if his fingers were damaged in the accident which would make his prints invalid…or…perhaps the Cassadine’s, in preparation for changing his identity has his prints altered!

Victor probably hacked into the Port Charles police/FBI/WSB databases and had Jason’s actual prints deleted and/or replaced. Maybe he even had a dummy file for “Jake” (with an assumed identity) created…..

I was thinking they had his actual fingers altered so that the prints are skewed.

I saw some of Billy Miller’s work on AMC and certainly enjoyed him as Billy Abbott on Y&R. I think his Y&R role was an excellent showcase for the actor’s smile, his charm and his comedic ability. However, Jason Morgan isn’t charming. Jason Morgan isn’t funny. Jason Morgan rarely smiles. I realize I’m voicing a minority opinion here (yet again!), but I don’t see the logic in casting an actor in a role that wastes his best attributes.

Unless Andy, he is Jason Q. Jason Q smiled and, well wasn’t real charming, but wayyy more than Jason Morgan.

Not true, Andy. You are NOT in the minority. Your opinion reflects exactly what I have been saying all along….among many other posters.
You are right. Billy’s smile is like a healthy contagion (if there even is such an expression….I do apologize for the accidental oxymoron, though….I seem to unintentionally do that quite a few times…
When Billy played Richie on AMC we did glean how well he can assume any role….wear many masks. But, IMO Billy Miller’s persona shines when he wears that blinding smile. He can play happy, the prankster, the melancholy and yes, the miscreant, where he unwittingly falls into now and again…….but is always forgiven.
You are, of course , on the mark when you point out that if Billy Miller were to parrot Steve Burton’s Jason, he would unquestioningly waste his talents. Billy Miller needs to be showcased without manacles by GH or this outstanding actor will fall prey to yet another daytime soap-warden.
There must be a reason why he left one soap to slip into another. Perhaps his hands were bound… Not given as much rope as he would have liked—- he was limited, as I think, MM was. JMO.
For nuJason to pick up where Jason Morgan left off, would not be fair to Billy himself nor his fans.
I saw very little of Jason/Steve when I started watching GH, but his expressionless and unemotional face and fixed stare are pretty much etched in my mind. However, lo and behold, I have caught him crack a smile a here and there on Y&R ….lately! LOL

The only thing I would not want..
IF, they but the dynamic Billy Miller back with lackluster monotone no emotions Sam it will kill his charisma working with her..
The two on screen personalities would be horrible together..
Billy/Jason is so highly charismatic and Sam=blah..

I, like most here…think that Jason will revert to Jason Q…or perhaps neither Q nor Morgan if he doesn’t regain his memory. He may just be a tabula rasa (blank slate) and grow into someone new. We still don’t know how the Cassadine’s figure into this…he may be kidnapped and programmed by them for all we know. They did that to Lucky…

As for the monotone Jason and Steve Burton…Steve was just acting what Jason M was supposed to be. The car accident left him with brain damage…not only did he lose his memory of ever being a Q…he lost his love for them…and the ability to feel emotion. It was only through the persistence of friends…Sonny, Carly, Robin…that he found a new way ofl life and the ability to form friendships, trust and love.

The point is deadpan Jason was purposely played that way. Though Jason Morgan was eventually able to fall in love and form friendships…the accident left him in a rather low-key stage. Yes, he felt…but there was an inability to express it to the fullest. So, when everyone says they hope Billy brings more to the character…he’ll bring what’s written…if Jason is a new Jason, complete with the gamut of emotions…then, yes, he’ll emote more. But I don’t think it was Burton’s take or fault…it was as the character was written.

Regardless of whether an actor emits charm, laughter…vivaciousness…we’re watching them play a role so throw his electric personality out the window. He’s someone new now…as actors have always done…for example a brilliant yet socially stunted person like Dustin Hoffman’s Rainman…or Robin Williams (RIP) character in The Fisher King… It’s playing the dark, somber roles when it goes against who they seem to be in real life that allows them to work their craft and become the characters they’re supposed to play.

I never hear anyone saying…”oh, I hope Sandra Bullock isn’t going to play that frightened for her husband’s life…victim of recurring nightmares wife…it won’t allow her to display that quirky sense of humor of hers…

Cee cee Jason didn’t always just stare. He was emotional. I don’t get why people ignore that. He was soft with Elizabeth and emotional and playful with her. He was even playful with Sam. But he was brain damaged and wired differently. You’re right. It wasn’t bad acting. In fact, I think Steve could convey so much through his body and his eyes. That is hard to do. Steve personally likes to smile and joke. So, he had to table his natural reactions. I just don’t understand how they are going to just erase his brain damage. Even if he remembers being Jason Q, it doesn’t mean his personality will change. I honestly don’t want Jason to emote more. He was fine the way he was. He got angry, he smiled and even cried when he was really sad (breakups etc.). He was intense. Those are emotions. Just because he didn’t laugh 24/7 doesn’t mean he was expressionless. He was a unique character. I don’t give a crap about BM’s quirky sense of humor just like I didn’t care that Steve was comedic. If it doesn’t make sense to the character then I don’t want to see it.

scyren…as you can see from my post above yours we’re totally on the same page about Steve Burton’s Jason. I think he did a fantastic job and I truly felt who he was. I think back to all the situations he was in…the breakups, losing Michael to Sonny, taking care of Michael as a baby, the breakups with Elizabeth, his torment over not being able to protect Sam when he thought Franco raped her…and it was all played with a subtle demeanor…an anguished look…sadness conveyed through his eyes, laughter through a twinkle in those same eyes.

since this is a soap…and anything can happen…maybe they’ll come up with some explanation (IF they choose to make this Jason more animated) that the accident and intensive injuries somehow changed his brain chemistry. If they can bring back the dead…they can do anything!

Just by the small taste of “Jake” we’ve already been afforded, it’s pretty apparent that BM is going to successfully merge Jason M.’s somewhat stilted sense of emotion with his own trademark warmth. He’s managed to nail his basic nature while infusing the character with a charm and magnetism SB did not…whether purposely or otherwise. When those bandages were removed yesterday, I felt a real chill run up my spine….it were as if the former face of Jason never existed, as I totally bought into the notion that this is indeed the real “Quartermaine,” er “Morgan”….just a new and improved version!!!! Liz’s stunned look also spoke volumes…’s like she knows, even if she doesn’t quite realize she knows it yet!!!! (If those dreamy blue eyes don’t give her a clue, then that signature hairstyle ought to give it away…..LOL.)

When “Jason’s” bandages were removed didn’t anyone notice he had a five o’clock shadow…bordering on a beard!!! Wow! That amazing plastic surgeon fixed his face complete with facial hair! (and then, lo and behold…someone over at the writer’s club must have noticed it because voila! clean-shaven.)

Monica will be so happy to have at least 1 son back. I adore Billy Miller a million more than Steve Burton the deadpan.

Absolutely, Nancy. I am glad it’s Billy Miller and not Steve Burton who is playing Jason. It is what it is and the naysayers will have to accept it.
Off subject , but, I find it disturbing and unethical for Silas to pretend and profess his loyalty to his wife when he is actually scheming against her. I cannot think of a better word .
He is not only her husband but a doctor. He should have never gone to Sam with his doubts…was he trying to score points with her? Sam actually surprised me today by showing some emotion about her feelings concerning the Nina situation to Patrick…YEAEEEEEY !!!! Go Sam…lol.
Silas is acting like a complete ass (am I allowed to write that?… No other word says it better, though. Lol.) IMO he should be more concerned as to why Nina did or does what she does, instead of trying to pin her with something. I hope that is what he is doing…trying to find the reason and help her. We shall see.
If he is gathering whatever evidence to hurt her, then he’s lower than low…remember your vows and your Hippocratic oath, Silas….lol.

This is what soaps are made of…of course Silas would go to Sam! He loved Sam…he was looking forward to building a new life with Sam…he let his concern for Nina blind him to how duplicitous she was. He ignored Sam when she tried to warn him…and now he’s finally realizing Sam was right. Yes, it’s obvious he still has feelings for Sam. I’d do the same thing. If I loved a man who warned me about someone…and I lost that said man because I didn’t believe him…i’d reach out to express my feelings, to validate his suspicions…and probably hope I had another shot with him.

But I digress…I think you’re having a lot of issues with how characters behave…but the way they behave is why we watch soaps! The back and forth of couples, the betrayals, the hurt, the friendships, the enemies…they’re all over the top. That’s what they are and it’s why we keep coming back for more.

“It reminds me of that old joke- you know, a guy walks into a psychiatrist’s office and says, hey doc, my brother’s crazy! He thinks he’s a chicken. Then the doc says, why don’t you turn him in? Then the guy says, I would but I need the eggs. I guess that’s how I feel about relationships. They’re totally crazy, irrational, and absurd, but we keep going through it because we need the eggs.” Woody Allen/Annie Hall

Substitute relationships with soaps and… 😉

CeeCee….You state that you “find it disturbing and unethical for Silas to pretend and profess his loyalty to his wife when he is actually scheming against her” well, shazam!….isn’t that exactly what Nina is doing to Silas, too, even if it has up until now been unbeknownst to him??? Though it may be a sad statement on today’s society, I dare say, most men would have kicked that insufferable nut job to the curb long before now…at least Silas did the honorable, responsible thing and took his spouse into his home, gave her a roof over her head and paid her expenses when she (fallaciously) proclaimed destitution, while she planned and plotted his downfall all along …from that standpoint, I cannot fault him. Beyond that, the heart wants what the heart wants….Dr. Clay can’t quell his pre-established feelings for Sam… even though she eventually did the decent, classy thing and stepped aside. To ask him to suddenly ignore his smoldering emotions is an impossible request….it’s only natural for him to want another chance with his ladylove as she is moving on without him. I also don’t blame him for his revulsion where Nina is concerned….she is totally repugnant to me, as well. Her inappropriate advances in the hospital today were a major turn-off….I can see why they would be to Silas, too. He is not a trained seal who can “perform” at his oddball wife’s insistent behest. Finally, trust is a two-way street, and based upon what Dr. Clay has uncovered about Nina’s duplicity, I have to say he has been a mighty patient and self-controlled man, given the loose cannon of an albatross to which he is currently chained. While I am also old-fashioned enough to believe in vows and oaths, every relationship has it limits….Silas suffered alone for twenty-some years because of his purported “part” in his wife’s supposed tragedy….he’s paid his penance and deserves to move on….particularly in light of the revelations he is only beginning to uncover about “Le Lunatic.”

He doesn’t need to be scheming against her, because he is a DOCTOR and she is certifiably CRAZY and in need of a psych evaluation and intense therapy, and medication! Ethically this is what he needs to do-get her serious help, not plot against her. He should be finding out all the info he can about the depth of her schemes. He can still move her out and get out of the relationship at any time, and I think he should, as well as get her help. He can do both. But he will probably feel guilty and stay.

I don’t think he’s plotting against her. He’s playing his cards close to the vest to discern what she might have done. If he flat out asked her she’d lie and he knows it. Silas would never betray her in the sense of harming her…but he was manipulated and guilted into trying to reestablish a relationship with her when he’d already moved on. This wasn’t a fresh loss like when Patrick thought he’d lost Robin. This was twenty years! And still he did the right thing…even though he loved Sam. He took Nina in, he cared for her, financially supported her, made sure she got physical therapy and put up with Rosalie’s attitude. He lost Sam (right after losing Rafe) and…he still took care of her!

To find out after all this that she’s been lying from the beginning…that she is the one that leaked the news that Patrick wanted Rafe dead…that she is the one that tore apart his apartment…how much can someone be expected to take?

My bet is he’ll continue observing her and putting the pieces together…confront her…and then get her the help she needs. For all we know, she might already have fallen for Franco by then. Either way, I hope they keep Michael Easton on the show, give him better material to display more of his acting chops…and for his character, Silas, to be happy!

This almost reads like a telegram.

Harry…You crack me up!!!!!!!!

Jason should have never taken Sam back in the first place. It was completely OOC. After everything she did it made no sense at all that he would ever give her the time of day. It actually made me not like Jason. I lost any respect I had left for him after that. It disgusted me. For years he was all about protecting children. He killed people and hated people for less. Why does Sam get to have the fairytale when she did so many horrible things and other characters get nothing. I don’t get it. Sam has no personality. I don’t even think she’s remotely likeable.

General Hospital’s John J. York On His Health Battle & Living Life While Waiting for Bone Marrow Transplant: “Let’s Just Go One Day At a Time”

John J. York’s positive outlook on his current medical diagnosis is quite remarkable, as his approach might be one many facing the same circumstances might consider.  The beloved General Hospital vet, where he has played Mac Scorpio for 32 years, revealed last week that he is battling cancer.

The popular soap star shared that he has been fighting myelodysplastic syndromes, or MDS, and multiple smoldering myeloma: two blood and bone marrow disorders.

York spoke with PEOPLE about how he found out about his diagnosis, the support his wife Vicki has shown throughout, and how he lives life day to day, while he waits for an all-important bone marrow transplant.

Photo: JPI

The actor shared what happened the moment he learned of his diagnosis: “(The doctor) was explaining all these different things and cells and all different levels and words that had, you know, 25 letters in them. And I didn’t understand. And Vicki finally came out and said, ‘Does John have cancer?’ And he said, ‘Yes.’ And I’m sitting there, I’m really just like a fly on the wall, listening to him talk to Vicki because she was the one asking all the questions.  At the end of his doctor’s conversation with Vicki, York’s one question was simple: ‘Why do I feel so good?’”

Vicki and John were in the process of moving to Tennessee to be closer to their daughter, Skyler, but considering UCLA in Los Angeles as John’s treatment center.  In the end, Skyler’s husband suggested Vanderbilt University for John’s cancer center so he did not have to travel back and forth to the west coast.

Since March of this year, John has had IV chemo treatments every month, with another one coming up in September. On that, John expressed: “It is what it’s, you know what I mean? And then everybody’s gotta get their treatment. And then you go home, go about your life and you play with the kids. And here we are.”

Currently, York is waiting for a bone marrow transplant. He has been moved up the donor priority list. If anyone is interested, and you are between 18-40, you can join the registry here

Photo: JohnJYorkX

York shared how Vicki is coping with what’s ahead: “Yeah, she’s scared, but believe it or not, I really kinda wasn’t because I feel great. Personally, I feel like it’s in God’s hands. God’s will be done. It’s gonna work out okay, one way or another. I’m either gonna survive or I’m not. And life goes on and things are gonna be okay for everybody… Let’s just go one day at a time.”

Share your well-wishes, and support and love to John, as he goes through the next phase of his health battle and let’s hope a bone marrow transplant donor is found for him soon. After all, we all want to see Mac Scorpio return to Port Charles, but more importantly, we all want John to feel better and beat this.Comment below.

Billy Miller’s Mother Issues Statement On His Passing

Patricia Miller, the mother of the late Billy Miller, has come forward and issued a touching statement on the tragic death of her beloved son at age 43.  The statement was shared by Billy’s longtime manager, Marnie Sparer, via social media.

Billy was best-known for his performances as Richie Nowack on All My Children, Billy Abbott of The Young and the Restless and Jason Morgan/Drew Cain on General Hospital, as well as countless primetime roles.  Throughout his career, Miller took home three Daytime Emmys for his work.

“I would like to share the following thoughts,” Patricia began. “I want to personally thank the many fans & personal friends for the overwhelming amount of love, prayers & condolences sent to me and my family on the devastating death of my beautiful son BJ – Billy Miller.”

Photo: JPI

Patricia continued with these sentiments, as she wanted to clear up any misinterpretations on this death: “He fought a long hard valiant battle with bipolar depression for years. He did everything he could to control the disease. He loved his family, his friends and his fans but in the end the disease won the fight and he surrendered his life. The other causes of death being told are not true. I wish they were but they just aren’t. We all loved him so much and are desperately trying to deal with our loss. I will have nothing further to say. Thanks for the love and support.”

The soap world as well as Billy’s family, friends, loved ones, and colleagues are in deep mourning for this talented man, who was gone too soon.

Billy Miller Remembered by His GH and Y&R Co-Stars As They Share Grief on His Passing

UPDATED: On Sunday, longtime friends and co-stars of actor Billy Miller took to social media to share their remembrances and sorrow on the passing of the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning star.

Miller passed away on Friday, September 15th as first reported and confirmed by Michael Fairman TV.  While the official cause of death has not been revealed, it has been related to the press by his management that Billy was suffering from manic depression.

Billy played Jason Morgan/Drew Cain on General Hospital from 2014-2019, and prior to that won 3 Daytime Emmys for his role as Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless from 2008-2014.  He started his soap career on All My Children in the role of Richie Novack back in 2007-2008.

Below are just some of the tributes pouring in for Billy:

Eric Braeden: “We lost BILLY MILLER! It saddens me deeply! He was a very gifted actor! Amelia(Victoria) and I took him to dinner one evening while he was in tough negotiations, and I remember telling him to reconsider, because rarely is an actor given a part that describes him almost perfectly, and to not make the mistake I had seen some actors make over my 60’years in the business, that they are indispensable! Once an actor thinks that or is told that by some sycophants, they step onto a slippery road…usually to oblivion! “BILLY BOY” was not only a damn good actor but a nice man! May he rest in peace and meet up with KRISTOFF in the BEYOND, ‘the undiscovered country from whose bourn no Traveller returns “ and tell each other jokes! They were both loved by their colleagues!”

Photo: JPI

Melissa Claire Egan: “My beautiful friend. I love you. I’m so sad. And I’m so sorry.”

Chrishell Stause: “Still processing this. Too many feelings, but you are gone too soon and I’m so happy I got to work with you all those years, but also call you a friend. I hope you are at peace now ”

Jess Walton:RIP to my precious Billy Miller. You were and ARE  much loved by all of us who knew you”

Daniel Goddard: “The world is going to be just that little bit more dull without you in it… you had that “it” factor that lit up every room you were in. Rest In Peace Mate ”

Photo: JPI

Nancy Lee Grahn: “So very sorry to hear this very sad and unexpected news. I would like very much for my beloved General Hospital to have no more of it. #RIPBillyMiller

Eileen Davidson: “I’m so sad to hear of Billy Miller’s passing. His infectious charm and warmth left lasting impressions on all of us who were lucky enough to have him in our lives. I’m gonna miss that mischievous smile. Love you Billy.”

Jon Lindstrom: “Billy was gifted. He was also good-natured, smart, funny, and always impressed me as a great friend to those close to him. He didn’t blink when I asked him to put on this shirt to help raise up the marginalized artists in our industry. He always seemed to have his heart in the right place and I always laughed when I was around him. #FlightOfAngels#RIP #BillyMiller #bereft”

Frank Valentini: “I am devastated to hear news of the incredibly talented Billy Miller’s passing. On behalf of the entire (General Hospital) family, our hearts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.”

Elizabeth Hendrickson: “Today I should have been sending you a Happy Birthday text BJ. Truth be told i hated calling you BJ but that’s what your closest friends /family called you. I eventually caved. The last couple years we kept in touch through birthdays and monumental moments or when we wanted to vent about “ work”. You gave me a lot of advise. When i understood it always mumbling your words. We always joked about that.
We didn’t text or talk often. But I’m glad the last couple times we did, we had a great banter like we used to. I knew that we always held a special place in each others hearts, no matter what. You were such an amazing friend to your inner circle. They were your family. You would do ANYTHING for them. That’s who really were. As loyal as they came. I’m sad and yes, mad at myself that I wasn’t being a better friend, checking in more often because I was thinking of you recently. I was. I hope you know that we are all here now texting each other, sending pictures and sharing memories of how fucking AWESOME you were. This hole in my heart will never be filled. Goodnight, sweet Billy.”

Scott Clifton: “This is not fair. We deserved so much more of him. Rest in peace, Billy. You’re immortal now.”

Coby Ryan McLaughlin (ex-Shiloh, GH): “Man… this sucks. Billy and I played on GH together for nearly a year. He was intense, focused, cool and kind. He knew the hamster wheel that I was about to start spinning on all too well, and always made himself available to help the new guy….. Rest easy, man…

Michael Muhney (ex-Adam, Y&R):  “Billy, My fellow Texas brother. You lit up every room with your smile. Your quiet intensity onscreen was second only to your gentle kindness and genuine care in private. We recently shared work on an Apple series, and your encouragements during and after that process, and your kindness over the years are now but a few of the things I’ll hold on to as warm memories of you. What a big heart you had. You were bigger and braver and bolder than this life. You were legend. There is no landing to this final cliffhanger, the wings you’ve spent your lifetime earning have carried you up to that wonderful place in the sky. Happy Birthday Billy Miller.”

The Young and the Restless:The daytime community mourns the loss of Billy Miller who graced Y&R with his talent for many years as Billy Abbott. Our deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones.”

Kathleen Gati: “I am beyond sad to hear this tragic news.#BillyMiller was always so kind, professional and a wonderfully talented colleague  @GeneralHospital Deepest condolences to his family, friends and fans.”

TK Weaver: “Devastated. Hard to find words. You always gave me such good advice. You were always there for me. You were an amazing person. #BillyMiller I’ll never forget you. Please join me in praying for his family and loved ones.”

Greg Rikaart: Generous, passionate, fun, soulful and brilliant Billy. Can you just imagine the reunion between him and Jeanne? I can. Rest well, dear Billy

Sean Kanan: “Shocked and saddened to hear that Billy Miller is no longer with us. He was a terrific actor and always kind when we would see each other. I pray that his family and friends find comfort and peace during this unimaginably difficult time. #BillyMiller #YR”
