Former Y&R fan favorite Victoria Rowell (Ex-Drucilla) is co-starring in the upcoming UP TV movie entitled Marry Me For Christmas! And there’s a twist! Her former on-screen love interest, Y&R’s Kristoff St. John (Neil) also appears in it!

Rowell even tweeted a picture with St.John that said, “A SUPERB day of filming with @kristoffstjohn1 — the set went WILD! ”

As for the story of Marry Me For Christmas, according to the UP TV website, “Smart, stylish Marci Jewel (Malinda Williams) is the owner of an up-and-coming ad agency and thrilled with her single life in New York — except during the holidays. While all of her cousins are married and having babies, Marci remains the lone holdout in the large Chandler family clan.

As the family’s epic Christmas celebration is about to start, Marci promises to come home for the holidays for the first time in years.  With a deadline looming for a new client, she drags her employee Adam (Brad James) in tow to Atlanta and does the only thing she can in the face of unbearable pressure from her ailing mom Stephanie (Victoria Rowell) and the rest of her family: fakes a fiance.  While caught up in the family’s frenetic holiday drama, Marci learns some unexpected lessons about love, trust and family, particularly when it comes to her new faux fiance Adam and old beau Blair (Karon Riley).

Marry Me For Christmas is set to air in December!  So, what do you think about seeing Kristoff and Victoria together again on-screen?  Does it make you wish for Dru to come back into Neil’s life in Genoa City?  Let us know!

I think its possible for V.R. to return to Y&R especially after doing this movie with K.S.J. For the longest time i thought no way Jose’ because of her diva like persona, the backstage drama ect., ect., ect., but i know of a late daytime star who was involved in some behind the scenes drama back in the 70s and got fired along with two costars but ended back at the same show for a brief year long return in the early 80s…later made a guest appearance on the shows anniversary show…the other two costars were killed off but showed up on the anniversary ep. as ghosts…so why not bring V.W. back and if it doesnt work out maybe Kelly can go beserk and becomes a serial killer who feeds Dru some poison pancakes killing her off for good…lol

Y&R has gotten so good lately which makes me worry all the more about the new head writer coming aboard. Please, please, please let his man be better than his history predicts he will be! Victoria looks beautiful in that picture.
I hope she does come back after going through anger management courses.
She seems like she’s always just enraged about something on Twitter.
I say bring back Dru and get rid of Lily. Lily is just insufferable with that little coquette act–her voice and mannerisms are either flirtatious and sassy or snippy and bitchy. Those are the only two emotions she can emote. I actually wince when she comes on screen and gasp! It looks like they’re about to give her a storyline which doesn’t involve flirting or cat fighting.

I find both Y&R and GH a lot more interesting lately…and not too long ago i almost gave up on them!!!

Me too, Jim! Me too.

OMG I cant wait to see this. I love Victoria Rowell aka Drucilla

Excited!

I love your name. I reside in California and after a three year drought just the word “rain” makes me feel so happy and hopeful.

Rain was the name of my dog back in the 60s…my first pet ever!!! My mother used to find me taking naps in Rains doghouse…i was like 3 to 5 at the time!! Seeing that poster use that name brings back a flood of memories…i miss that dog!

Sorry to go off topic, but Jim there is a great poem by Billy Miller called “A Dog to his Master.”
As young as I look, I am growing older faster than he,
seven to one is the ration they tend to say.
Whatever the number, I will pass him one day and take the lead
the way I do on our walks in the woods.
And if this ever manages to cross his mind,
it would be the sweetest shadow
I have ever cast on snow or grass.

It gets me every time. Rain is still with you–he’s in the shadow that crosses your path. They never leave us.
Okay ahem! Back to the subject. I really love Drucilla and she is greatly missed by fans. And again, VR looks absolutely stunning in that picture above.

OH NO! I have Billy Miller on the brain. As gifted as he is as an actor, he is not a poet, and he probably knows it.
I meant the other Billy–the amazing poet who lives among us– Billy Collins.

I am holding my head in shame now.

Loved the poem, Harry…thanks… Ill never forget my first pet, Rain, and my last which was a cat who was very smart…he understood words…i cry help, he’d run to me and meow in my ear, hide when i told him its bedtime, id say yawn if you want a treat and he did…if you left something on the floor, he would meow continously and you would have to pick up the object because he wouldnt walk around it…lol…what an amazing cat…he passed away 6 years ago…i wish i wouldve got all of it on film but he died unpectedly…back to the topic…i vote that we give Victoria R. a second chance…bring back Dru campaign starts NOW!!!

Nobody loves us like our dogs and yes, our cats too, Jim.
That unconditional love and adulation directed toward us just makes us want to be worthy of it.
Dru cracked me up when she was a ballerina, stampeding all over the dance floor like an out of control bison. Yes, she was a bitch on wheels, but so was Phyllis.
I mean, come on, I have heard of cliff hangers, but leaving Dru hanging on to the edge of that cliff for over 7 years is just cruel and unusual punishment.
Bring her back!

have you seen the budweiser commercial… when he comes back home the next day and apologizes to his dog… that he spent the night out… because he didn’t want’ to drink and drive….

Oye… the love.. between him and his dog… was marvel

i say this because… if my partner and I are both gone from the house… our Dita…just goes batty …. and can’t help herself when we both come home… and love her… I love my dog

I would love to see Dru and Neil back together again on the Y&R. This could possibly “explode the ratings” if the once beloved duo reunited back together. One could only wish!

I would watch this movie.

Always a Dru fan. Would love to se her back in GC.

Yes. I’ve missed Neil and Dru ever since the day Dru feel over the cliff. It’s about time she comes home and he can finally have a real love in his life again. Come home to Genoa City Dru.

They should bring her back. She is best with Neil. There is different regime now. Time for her return.

Agree. I always loved Drug/Victoria.

Off topic, but…..I thought that in today’s episode, Kelly was so classy.
Her scene with Jack was so heart wrenching and honest….great acting.

Cady is an extraordinary actress. She did break my heart yesterday/

Nice to see them back together, even if temporarily. A great team.

As for the film, the plot sounds heavily “borrowed” from
“Holiday in Handcuffs” (TVM 2007) Melissa Joan Hart & Mario Lopez.

and the major motion picture that starred Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds.

Let me see…N-O. I’m sorry but Victoria Rowell is S-T-I-L-L WAY TOO MUCH OF A D-I-V-A!!!!! Therefore, I WILL NOT be watching that new UP TV Movie if she’s gonna be in it. And, believe me…I ENJOY watching UP OnDemand. But, not this time. Nope. And, BTW…my favorite thing to watch on UP OnDemand are classic episodes of ‘Family Ties’…LOL. Moving on. Next…

Jaybird!!!! LOL, I can’t believe it!!!! Do we actually disagree about something? Go figure!
Seriously, though, I think I missed all that ‘diva’ stuff. Was Victoria that much of a pest? ….later.

Hello Again CeeCee,

1. Let me see…you and I actually disagreeing about something??? My dear…I wonder about that myself…lol.
2. H-o-n-e-y…to this day, Victoria Rowell’s battles with Michelle Stafford (BOTH on-screen and off-screen) are STILL legendary (or whatever). TOTALLY!!!!!
3. Most of all, to say that Victoria Rowell is a ‘pest’ is an UNDERSTATEMENT!!!!! Yes!!!!!

Take care, CeeCee.

A-C-E-S!!!!!

No…
I admire her real life. She came from homelessness and Foster homes & made something of herself.

Come on, Jay–pick a lane and tell us how you really feel.

Jaybird we have discussed this before, we both agree Victoria Rowell is a diva and a trouble maker. Victoria never got along with her co stars, as well they can recast Drucilla with a different actress without the attitude. I used to like Victoria Rowell, but not anymore. She is a diva and a has been. lol.

I am not watchingthe movie, I will watch Dancing with the Stars lol.

WHY is Victoria playing Malinda’s mom when they are only 16 yrs apart….ugh

A lot of stars have the big head; I don’t know if Victoria is one of those stars or not. If it’s stated often enough, does that make it true? Victoria is the right person for Neil. Just because she expresses her feelings about what’s happening behind the scenes doesn’t make her a diva. If she says there’s more that can be done with the writing for certain characters, then, let the powers that be prove she’s wrong. Don’t put it in the universe that she’s difficult to work with because she disagrees with them. That’s what happened to Brenda Dickson, isn’t it?

What I was told about Brenda Dickson is she and Bill Bell had an affair that soured and caused problems on the set…Y&R has a history full of sexually charged backstage problems! The viewers have enabled Y&R’s transgressions!

I celebrate this headline

Victoria Rowell… and Kristof St. John… Neil and Dru

after all these years

Hello

the draw these two would pull would be stupendous

bring her back…. to genoa city

lily and Devon are so boring… I hate to use that word… but it’s true…. dull lame and over

Victoria Rowell… would add dimension, layer, ratings, and fan aplomb

i ll alwaz love the barber sisters, dru n liv!!
but why did the writers drop leslie and tyler, the michaelsons! they had so much promise in genoa city?. now we have billionare devon decieving his blind father and a reformed hilary love lost between father and son!
are tyler and leslie gone from the show? does anyone know?, i loved them!

Dru was only thrown off a cliff, no dead body. They’ve had characters come back from worse, lol. She should come back & get Neil back & away from that sleaze Hillary. Let Devon have her. Wouldn’t want her after that anyways.
Dru was always one of my favorite characters.

Nancy Lee Grahn’s Star-Studded ALS Fundraiser Reveals “I’ll Be There” Video Featuring Soap Opera Notables

Talk about your impressive line-up! It’s a soap fans dream and for a great cause. General Hospital’s Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) is prepping her one-night only ALS fundraiser which will feature many of her friends and co-stars.

The benefit is set for May 4th in Glendale, California. Slated to participate are Genie Francis, Jane Elliot, Peter Bergman, Maurice Benard, Eileen Davidson, Thorsten Kaye, Michelle Stafford, Stephen Nichols, Rena Sofer, Jason Thompson, Kelly Monaco, Melissa Claire Egan, Maura West, Kristina Wagner, Gregory Harrison, Trevor St. John, Kate Mansi, Kirsten Storms, Cynthia Watros, and many others.

On Wednesday, Grahn took to her social media and released an “I’ll be there” video shout-out featuring, Monaco, Elliot, Bergman, Bernard, West, Harrison, St. John and more. In a touching and important moment in the new video, Michelle Strogny, who is battling ALS, is featured.

Photo: ABC

Previously, in speaking with Soap Opera Digest on the impetus of the event, Grahn recalled, “I was actually doing Zoom events during Covid and I met this woman that I just fell in love with, Michelle Strojny. At the time, Michelle had been living with ALS for four years. Now, it’s five years. She is a mom of a teenage son, she has the most wonderful husband, and she has been dealing with this [disease] for quite a while. And obviously, there isn’t a cure yet. It’s not survivable yet. But as she says, it’s not incurable. Nothing is; it’s underfunded. But anyway, I just really dug this woman. She is so grounded and filled with grace, and she spends all of her time working to raise money for the cause. We did a fundraiser for her last year and then I thought, ‘You know what? The soaps don’t ever get together to do something for charity.’ Collectively, we have this amazing community and we don’t collectively use it for a good cause, and I think it’s such an easy thing for us to do and we could potentially really make a difference.”

As GH viewers know, Gregory Harrison is playing the character of Gregory Chase, who is also battling ALS in a touching storyline that is currently playing out shedding a light on this disease.

‘General Hospital’ Writer Shannon Peace Let Go, and Shares on Sprina: “One of My Only Regrets is to Not Have the Opportunity to Develop That ‘Ship’ Further”

As General Hospital’s new head writing team of Elizabeth Korte and Patrick Mulcahy gets off the ground and running, there are still changes a foot on the writing team.

Now comes word via breakdown writer Shannon Peace that she is no longer on contract with the long-running ABC soap heading into its 61st season. Peace shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram, thanking the fans, and the show for the opportunity and the importance of diversity in the writers room.

Peace began, “After almost 3 years on staff and 106 episodes penned, I am no longer on contract with General Hospital. Writing for this country’s longest running television serial drama has been an education of epic proportions; I will forever be grateful that I earned my WGA card on a daytime fixture that holds memories for so many.” (Peace pictured below with GH EP Frank Valentini and script writer, Charlotte Gibson from about ten months ago).

Shannon added “Even more importantly, as the sole Black breakdown writer (and only POC in the writers room) during my tenure, I pushed for vital interactions and discussions that prioritized inclusion, visibility, and representation”

The writer pointed to the example of vital interaction when in story, “Stella and Portia’s frank July 2022 conversation about the role race played in Esme’s framing of Trina is just one example of the impact I’m gratified to have had.”

Acknowledging former GH co-head writers was also part of Peace’s farewell expressing, “Appreciation to my former bosses, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor – not only taking a chance on me, but for valuing my opinion and championing my voice.”

Many GH fans know that Peace was key to the development of the love story between Trina Robinson and Spencer Cassadine as played by Tabyana Ali and Nicholas Chavez. Shannon gave a special shout-out to ‘Sprina’ fans, “I also want to thank fans who were supportive of my work, especially the recognition of my love for ‘Sprina’. One of my only regrets is not having to develop that ‘ship’ further.”

She concludes her statement with,”In the aftermath of a historic writer’s strike that shed new light on the troubling ways writers are regarded in daytime, my sincere hope is that General Hospital recommits to valuing staff writer efforts and input, with a more intentional focus on diverse viewpoints — and thrives for another 60 years.”

Accompanying her post, Shannon added, “Thank you all for the love and support these last few years. I hope GH fans get all they hope for and more!”

So, what do you think about GH not renewing Shannon’s contract? Will there be more continued changes afoot? What do you think is the future of ‘Sprina’ anyway at this point as viewers wait to see if Nicholas Chavez officially returns to the show?  Comment below.
