General Hospital’s Wes Ramsey, who portrays polarizing character, Peter August on the ABC daytime drama series, responded to recent take on his role from cast mate, Tristan Rogers (Scorpio) when a video made its way through social media.
The video was from a Cameo appearance, where Rogers offered an assessment of the Peter August storyline and expressed that while he knows Ramsey is a strong actor, he felt he was “wrong for the character” being that Peter was the son of the evil Faison played by Anders Hove.
Rogers also came to the defense of Ramsey and shared: “Don’t be too hard on Wes Ramsey. He’s got himself into a horrible storyline, and the storyline is the fault of the show. What they’ve literally done is they’ve painted themselves into a corner, and they don’t know how to get out of it.”
Currently, Peter’s story is front and center on GH with his wedding to Maxie (Kirsten Storms), and the fallout from all of the character’s dirty deeds.
Now Ramsey took to his Instagram account to address what transpired and his thoughts on the perils of social media, professionalism and acting, expressing: “Actors are storytellers, shapeshifters, chameleons. We’re also in the business of cultivating trust bc that’s how the best work is brought to life. We have to trust our imaginations, our instincts. We have to trust our fellow actors, because without them, there’s no scene to play. In the collaborative efforts of bringing any show to life, we also have to trust our directors each day to steer the arch of our story (like a conductor with a symphony) & trust our writers who are tasked with composing the symphonies we play out. I came up in a world of classical theater, where trusting the play, text, story is essential to the tightrope balancing act of making magic. You will never hear me critique (on any public platform) the people responsible for the creative opportunities I enjoy each day. Without the trust of my writers, directors, producers & fellow actors, it would be impossible to live out my dreams. My job (& my only job) is to bring fearlessness, playfulness & passionate conviction to what has been created for me. My aim is to stretch myself (beyond the limits of where I think my boundaries may lye) each time I’m entrusted with material that allows those boundaries to be tested.
Every actor must believe they are the right person for their part or they will never achieve their potential, let alone surpass it. I was raised a gentleman & have two wonderful parents to thank for that, however, my polite personality (while rendering me easy to get along with on set) should have little bearing on my caliber of performance nor my castability as a professional. I am leery of the pitfalls of social media & believe there are advantages to maintaining some mystery (even as a public figure) but I will always defend & protect what I hold dear (my job & my career) when they are publicly challenged, especially by those closest to me, whom I love & respect. Please know I bear no ill will. As a society, we are all still learning the full ramifications of living in an internet dominated culture. To all my many fans out there who offer encouragement & support, I hear you & am grateful for you. I’m having a blast… 🙂. Onward we go.”

It is high drama but maybe this is what happens when you marry your late wife’s niece on the rebound from her marriage to your stepbrother/stepson and your on-and-off marriages with said stepbrother/stepson’s mother (also the ex-wife of your in-name-only father). Oh, and now that your son is father to your new wife’s (his stepaunt) baby, you could be both grandfather and stepdad to the child! (And remember the rumor your son had that crazyberries affair with your ex-wife!).
Did I remember all that correctly?
Sigh.
Rick and Ridge have the same father–they are half-brothers. Yeah, yeah, I know Massimo is really Ridge’s father, but Eric raised Ridge and considers him his son so I consider Ridge Eric’s son, not his stepson.
Half-brothers, yes, I stand corrected, Mo. Still one amazing mess of a family tree. More of a family bramble!
LOL!! You nailed it. Thanks for sharing:)
Well Done, Iakovos! What is amazing is that I, and most of us, could follow and understand your explanation 🙂
I was glad to see that BandB didn’t drag this story out but gave it a huge 2-part punch, starting last Friday. Now that the truth is out between Ridge & Caroline, I wonder if they’ll let Thomas in on the truth or pass off baby-Forrester as Ridge’s child. Maybe Caroline’s guilt will drive her to go along w/a plan like this. Both actors were wonderful in the scene, but I think the moment belonged to Linsey Godfrey.
WONDERFUL ACTING —BOTH ACTORS!!!!!
Agreed. Linsey should put in for lead actress in the Emmy’s.
The acting was exceptional but the story is awful. I can’t help but think that this baby will end up being Ridge’s, not because B&B thinks that Caroline and Ridge belong together, but because there is so much disgust from the audience over what Thomas did. I’m not taking any sides here, and I know that all three characters played a role in the situation being what it is, but fan reaction is very vocal against Thomas’ behavior that night and now Ridge is saying what a lot of fans have been screaming. I can’t see B&B rewarding Thomas with… Read more »
B and B has years to keep this baby’s paternity in play if they want. I do agree that it will *probably* be Ridge’s baby sooner rather than later, as a lot of viewers point out that Ridge never had a second opinion etc. But, Y&R kept Summer’s paternity in question forever…18 years? before the final determination. I don’t think the Thomas/Caroline one-nighter was as god awful as some people do. So, it doesn’t seem like a ” reward” for Thomas to me. And, I am not a fan of this Ridge at all, so that may influence me 🙂
Michael, I think it’s high time you interview those 2. 😉 I was at the edge of my seat watching Ridge and Caroline on both Friday’s and Monday’s show. This is what soaps are all about! Wonderful performances and I hope they get the recognition they deserve, especially Thorsten Kaye who has been overlooked for so many years! I was pleasantly surprised that they didn’t drag this out and had Caroline confess it all, not because she was threatened but because she thought it was the right thing to do. The other soaps should take notes (GH, I’m looking at… Read more »
So heartbreaking.
I don’t like that they are making it Thomas’ baby, but I’m hoping that it is a mistake.
I think Ridge will ask Caroline to lie and say it is his (Ridge) baby.
Caroline also needs to realize it was rape.
OMG I hope Ridge & Caroline make a pack to keep it to themselves and raise the child as their’s. As for noisy Brooke Ridge can tell her the test came back and he’s able to father a child after all. Please don’t break these two up.
As twisted as the situation is this is classic soap and the reveal was great drama. October and November are favorite months to watch soaps– never dull moment until Thanksgiving
Linsey(Caroline) did such an Amazing job! I wonder if Thomas will find out it’s his baby?
Ridge should think back to when he slept with his father’s wife Brook and “Whoa ” RJ was produce. There is and old saying You Reep What You So!!!!! I know they will make this a Ridge baby until Thomas let out to Brooke that he slept with Caroline and she put together that ridge is not the father but Thomas is..
