Casting news today via Soap Opera Uncensored has that The Bold and the Beautiful is looking for a leading lady type in her mid-40’s for a recurring role on the international hit soap opera!

And giving it a bit of intercontinental flare, according to the casting notice this woman is to be “Aussie/British, Artistic, Beautiful, Strong Business sense. Native accent.”

It sort of sounds like a younger Jackie M (Lesley-Anne Down) doesn’t it?

So now we ask you to put on your casting director hat and post who you think would be a good fit for the part, someone from daytime or primetime television, perhaps?  Let us know!

I still miss the Marone family.

Loved Lesley Ann Down and Brandon Beemer together.

Its getting a little crazy with the cast size for 1/2 hour show.

i think Eva Longoria woiuld be a great lady to play the part

Eva isn’t Aussie or British. Plus, she’d probably return to Y&R is she were going to a soap again.

They could be going to a full hour. Y&R may be dropped to a half hour.

Well anything to get more NEW excitement into this show…. and now it looks as if Hope and Liam are getting back together….come on! D we really have to endure that once again??? I thought that story was over and dead….
I could almost stomach Hoe when she is with Wyatt..Liam is a wet noodle and so so boring!

YES…THANK YOU…AGREED!!!!! Liam acts like such a lovesick M-O-R-O-N…LOL!!!!! BEYOND ANNOYING!!!!!!

Totally agree; frankly I would rather never see Hope or Liam again, but she’s more tolerable with Wyatt.

Liam Much better than crazy Wyatt!

I could care less. Whoever they cast will only be used as another tool to prop up either Brooke or Hope or both.
This soap is a waste of time.

Thank you!!! Totally agree!!

I just can’t watch BB, it is just awful!…maybe they should go an hour and half with y&r

It must be a new character I assume…but she should have connections with someone on canvas such as knowing Ridge…HMMM? Maybe a past model who worked a Forrester which actually is Liam’s mom…HMMM? Maybe she isn’t dead you know soaps…let the fur fly between mama lionesses Quinn?!

Catherin Oxenberg

Chastity Bono.

Wicked sense of humor I love it!!!

But thats who i was hoping would play the new Mike Horton on Days and Sara Gilbert would play Robin Jacobs in honor of that shows 50th…kidding, lol

LOL!!!

You are a crude human being for saying this. You should be disgusted with yourself, continually posting Chaz in the casting. Have you no class?

Correction: “Chaz Bono”

Still crude and crass.

Beth Chamberlain

Patrick, we both posted at the same time! I guess BC would be a better choice than CB! LOL!

And look at the opposite initials! Opposite initials and sexes!! LOL.! I’m having too much fun!

Fiona Hutchison

I’m wondering if this new character met Ridge while he was away or could be connected to Deacon’s return somehow. As for casting i don’t know how she is in real life but maybe Fiona Hutchison

Wendy moniz

She isn’t Aussie or British.

That’s why it’s calling acting!

You do realize they don’t actually have to be british or Australian right!;)

Was also thinking Catherine Oxenberg. She’s 52 but easily could pass for 40s.

I think Jamie Luner need to return to soaps!! If she’s not cast as the new Phyllis on Y&R, she needs to head to BOLD!!! She’s too sexy not to be on soaps!!!!!

Richard…I agree!!!!! As an actress, Jamie Luner TRULY ROCKS!!!!!

Will really miss feisty Phyllis. Love her. Must have been money negotiations to make her switch. Truly missed.

I don’t know much about Aussie or British soaps, so I can’t really offer up any advice on who to cast. But I hope, whoever it is, that they’re able to act up to par with the rest of the cast.

At a C- level, it should be easy to cast someone! LOL!!!

Speak for yourself.

BB has some wonderful actors on the show…but as Scott remarked “speak for yourself”

Joan Collins she would be perfect and looks 25

LMAO…not any more sorry. She looks good for her age but no 25.

I really miss Jackie and Nick, they were two of my favourite characters. Though their last year on the show was horrible in terms of writing, it was as if they were an afterthought for Brad Bell and that upset me, because Leslie-Anne Down and Jack Wagner are great actors. I’d love for Jackie, Nick, Bridget and Owen to return to the show.

I don’t know if a new role is what B&B needs right now, the cast is already pretty sizable. We already never see Marcus, Dayzee, Thomas, Danielle, rarely Justin and rarely Thorne.

If I were in charge of the show I would send both Brooke and Hope on journeys to find themselves, find out who they really are, and what they need to change about themselves. Journeys of self-discovery, similar to Maxie’s on GH. They take up way too much air time, and to be honest, both characters are (and have been for a long time) a complete mess. Brooke is back with Bill, and Hope is on the merry-go-round again with Liam and Wyatt. Terrible decisions for both ladies, but I guess it’s a case of like mother, like daughter. (Things should get interesting when Deacon arrives though!)

IMO It isn’t fair for a show with such talented actors and an ensemble cast to focus on one or two characters. Recently Brad Bell called Hope the “central character” of the show and I found it insulting to the other actors. I would love to see more Thorne, and as I said I would love the Marone family to return, and put Brooke on the backburnner for a little while, for a change.

AMEN

What B&B needs is another Sally Spectra!!!

YES…IMMEDIATELY!!!!!

I’ve always hoped the show would pick up the criminally unemployed Elizabeth Hubbard (Lucinda on ATWT) playing a business woman owning a fashion-related company (maybe shoes akin to Manolo Blahnik??). Hubbard can’t play campy the same way that Sally was but she is a hell of an actress and could fill the huge void left by Susan Flannery for a strong, older female to berate Brooke over her continuous sexual misconduct.

To turn up the camp factor, I’d give her a couple of loyal employees (similar to Darla and Saul were to Sally). I’d find some washed-up former tv actor to play one of them (maybe the gal who played Nellie Olsen on Little House on the Prairie? That woman seems like she has a good sense of comic timing.). Then, add a non-sexual but devoted male employee.

Top it off later with a couple of good looking kids for Hubbard (Russell Todd to play the son? Someone that Brooke can get her hooks into. Maybe Teri Conn to play the daughter?).

IDK. The show has vastly improved by moving away from the burned-out Taylor and introducing some new folks (especially the equally loony Quinn and Ally). However, I really think the show needs more. It needs some new “blood” who aren’t connected to the Forresters and Logans.

I’m a HUGE believer in sticking with your core families but, until recently, B&B has done it too much. At time, the show seems stale and a complete rehash of what we have seen for 20 years. I still can’t fathom why the heck the writers completely ignore Thorne Forrester and give him nothing to do while constantly giving us more Ridge and Brooke!!!

weren’t they casting a british sex kitten in her 20s recently? what happened to that? any one keep track of how many of these casting calls ACTUALLY come to fruition?

I’m late to the party, but I’d love to see Kelley Menighan Hensley. And then they could also bring in her wonderful hubby Jon – aka Dr. Meade – full-time. Win Win!!!

first watch 1988 until now B&R on off on off now time change

What does it matter? She will just be another prop for Brooke and Hope, as usual. Hope being the central character is a huge joke. And why cast new actors when they don’t use the ones they have?!

SICK of seeing Hope kiss,,kiss..kiss…2 guys.

Just tired of Bill and Brooke and Wyatt! Could use an influx of story for Thorne . Wyatt is promoted far more than his value and the cheesy nature of either the story or acting makes it worse. Too much Brooke centric is destructive and the stories have suffered for it. Eric looks like a senile fool for doing her bidding all the time. Its insufferable. Brad Bell learned little from his father it would appear

Can’t wait for Wyatt’s girlfriend to show up. Bye bye Wyatt (from Hope). His “poor” momma is goingto go beserk! Can’t wait!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
