The Nurses Ball 2014 To Air During May Sweeps On General Hospital … And That's Not All!

Today, ABC announced its May Sweeps programming tune-in guide for both daytime and primetime shows including General Hospital!

So here is what to look for on GH! Port Charles will once again hold the iconic Nurses Ball gala, a fundraiser for HIV and AIDS awareness and research. As the Nurses Ball 2014 begins, several popular Port Charles residents will be noticeably absent from the Red Carpet and stuck at home watching the festivities on TV. Old and new loves will percolate while others find themselves in awkward situations. Amidst all the romantic drama, the never-dull Nurses Ball audience will be entertained with fun performances and sexy surprises. The Nurses Ball episodes air May 8 through May 13.

Also in May, the PCPD finds new and crucial evidence in AJ’s murder, while a tortured Sonny continues to agonize over his predicament.  Sabrina and Patrick’s baby will be put at risk. The shrewd Obrecht and savvy Madeline are both confident their individual ploys will get them out of jail.   Nathan discloses a stunning revelation to Britt.  Shawn threatens to tell TJ the truth about Jordan’s past. The strange-behaving Luke will give Julian an ultimatum.

So, who do you hope performs at the Nurses Ball?  What do you think will go down at the big event? What storyline from the teasers given by ABC for May Sweeps interests you the most?  Weigh-in below!

The Nurses Ball is a fun event, nothing serious, the actors are not all professional singers or dancers, so It always fun to see them preform..
I hope Dr O. gives us a song/she is an opera singer, so looking forward to hopefully having her sing..
There is always a shocker surprise at the ball- wonder what it will be this year ..

    GO GH !!!

The best shocker of all would be that the last year was all a VERY bad dream…and. we wake up and we pick up the story from the 2013 ball that focuses on GH characters, not newbie psycho of the month. But alas, that will never happen.

        April 24, 2014 at 3:02 pm

I’m not sure why we did we would want the past year to be a dream. The past year has been the best year for GH in many many years.

Paul, I cannot for the life of me fathom why you would say this past year has been one of the best because GH” 1. Is full of new characters we don’t know or care about being thrusted down our throats 2. Then these characters bring in new characters we don’t know or care about–it is six degrees of disconnection and apathy3. The writing is choppy. The writers will write a cliff hanger and then leave that character hanging for months on end. 4. The writing is not only not character driven, it’s distorted and ruined the characters already established. 5. The writing is campy and idiotic. Dr O as the Chief of Staff should never had happened. There’s so much wrong with GH right now–hope they can find a new head writer who can come in with the calvary and conduct some serious damage control.

Couldn’t have said it better myself Harry. I think GH is horrible right now. All that time spent on Silas and NIna – a character we’ve never even seen. Faux Luke is creepy and Sonny and Ava just despicable. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.

    • harry

      April 24, 2014 at 1:10 pm

Yes, maybe the shocker will actually be a character driven story which doesn’t suck.

I would greatly enjoy watching Levi insult everyone at the Nurses Ball, & then be promptly dumped by Maxi so she & Nathan can build a relationship. The actor who plays Nathan started off very stiff. But, he’s getting better & seems to be most relaxed w/Kristen Storms.

It would also be great if Luke’s real identity could be revealed for viewers (if not the characters) @ the Nurses’ Ball. And, I’d love for Laura to return & instantly know that it’s not Luke that she’s looking at.

My favorite is the Nurses Ball. I have really missed it the past few years. It would be so nice to see Patrick and Sabrina back together. I wish to see Nikkolas and Britt back together also. I know I am a dreamer but I like them together. Who knows what surprises will abound at the ball??? Or who will show up??? Always so much fun to watch.

I so wish this drama with Luke would end. I am so done with him. I think Sonny is going to have some legal problems to deal with soon too. Would also love to see Maxie and Nathan get something going as well. Hopefully Lulu and she patch things up and maybe let her do a second surrogacy for them : )

Go GH! Bring back our other favs too OLTL and AMC once all the lawsuit drama is over.

Couldn’t have said it better myself…I think this has been an awesome year for GH, characters and drama, some story lines I hate but still love the great acting and just like real life drama, shit happens! I too miss OLTL and wish abc would bring it back. Maxie and Nathan together is an interesting idea, but I am hoping Spinnilli and the baby comes back … Love my soaps, hope what is left on the air will be with us for along time, but am afraid we are a dying breed…if we can’t be on prime time, give us a true Soap network. I too am a dreamer! lol

this sound like a full plate of nothing, i hate to say this, but RC and FV nurses ball are nothing like the old nurses ball, and as for the other plots, they all sound alot like what is currently playing out. the storline are not playing out like they should, for crying out loud, Carly/Franco already have figure out more about A J murder then Anna and company, and how many more weeks and months do we now have to see Sonny “loosing” it? Sabrina and Patricks baby at risk? thats a shocker, when is a baby not put at at risk on this show? and now we have to look foward to the new twisted sister on this show, Dr.O and Madeline? boring, sorry, but this Madeliine character had more potential if she was monicas sister and was going at it with Tracy, those two are more formidable women to go up against then Dr.O , sorry, love Dr. O but like Heather she’s been ruined by being on to much and getting away with everything, she makes the other characters look stupid. and last but not least, RC needs to end the Luke storyline, its become pointless, and quite disgusting. i’m not having any fun seeing this creepy luke story playing out. just get on with it already, who the heck is he? whatever he’s plotting just get done with it. sorry but those scenes of luke and kiki are disgusting, and him threatning spencer are just to much.

      April 23, 2014 at 9:58 pm

Hey! Stop your whining! The Nurses Ball would no longer exist if it wasn’t for them bringing it back….geesh. There’s no pleasing some people. Oh, btw, they also saved the show.

      • harry

        April 25, 2014 at 9:39 am

They did not save the show. I am so tired of that fallacy being banded about. If Ron and Frank did save the show as you erroneously attest, I say I’d rather GH have died a quiet and dignified death just as I would have liked to have seen the character of Luke Spencer die a quiet and dignified death.

      • mary

        April 26, 2014 at 5:53 am

I agree. Frank and ron saved GH. You may not like what they always do, but they are doing a better job than Guza. I do hate this new Luke. I hope this story w this Luke ends soon. The Nurses ball is always fun to watch.

I agree Lynn. I can never understand why people don’t turn the channel if they don’t like a program.
They come on a site for a show they don’t like and complain to people who like the show & don’t give darn what they have to say!
I’ve watched this show for almost 49 years & I am glad its still on!!
        Always been my favorite!

      April 23, 2014 at 10:34 pm

      “Thank you”
      “high 5”
      “Right On”

about the only thing…. and this is stretching it

      Liz and Ric Lansing…

at this point… with the writing… I don’t see how …. Nicholas and Britt will re-unite
      “I do like this pairing”

as much as I still think… the world of Kathleen Gati’ Dr. O… the writing is going downhill.

all the hoopla for RC/FV… since the “resurgeance” of GH and the advent of reprising the “Nurses Ball”….

      umhh… I just don’t see it… “any more”

be that as it may… I’m still with

Oh… for the love of God… why… can’t we have a new actor to play against, with, and for LOVE… a new man for Tracy Quartermaine

all I’m looking forward to… these days

is scenes with Kevin… and Lucy comes with

      and Miss Felicia and Mac

it’s a shame… FInola Hughes’ Anna is dumbed down… get some romance back… with Duke

      LOL… doesn’t it bite… that we’re watching Anthony Geary’ Luke relegated to ??? I don’t care

      April 24, 2014 at 7:19 am

The PCPD constantly looks like a bunch of keystone cops. Inept. Sad. Not sure they’ve solved a case. Dante tries to appear confident and smug; but, he has no reason to have an ego. I love Anna; but, she is written as a terrible Commissioner-the mob solves most crimes, or as you said, now Carly and Franco. Can’t stand them as a couple. The scenes of him spray painting his room to get arrested were ridiculous. A waste of Roger Howarth’s talent. Faux Luke is awful. Painful to watch. Kristen Alderson as Kiki-like nails on a chalkboard for me. Haven’t watched in a week.

      • FAS

        April 26, 2014 at 12:14 pm

I WATCH as many episodes as I possibly can. I will never stop watching, albeit the next couple of years will be hectic for me…..Please don’t knock Kiki, she’s the only character that is my age…and I loved her on OLTL.

      • shauna

        April 29, 2014 at 8:25 am

I like Kiki. I think she is pretty, talented and interesting. I also loved her as Starr. Been watching that kid grow up and I am like a proud momma with that girl, happy with the way she has turned out so far!

    • jenny

      April 24, 2014 at 8:28 am

I would just quit watching if I were you Aria..maybe in a year or two, the story line will be more to your liking LOL

    • Jamie

      April 24, 2014 at 9:25 am

I agree on all counts!!! It’s just getting irritating at this point. And it was fun to see all the old faces on last year’s Nurse’s Ball but when it was all said and done with, I felt underwhlemed. Compared to the old Nurse’s Balls it just didn’t shine!

    • KM

      April 24, 2014 at 10:18 am

I agree with you on all plot points. Also I’m probably in the minority but I’ve never been much of a fan of song and dance numbers and variety acts on soaps. Dragging it out over an entire week seems a bit much. My FF button will be getting a work out.

Maybe the nurses ball should be an every other year thing. Last year they did have some nice blasts from the past with the vet returns plus Rick Springfield and Jack Wagner doing their big hits but you can only do that once. Hopefully they’ll be smart enough to know that once was more than enough for Richard Simmons:)

      April 24, 2014 at 12:37 pm

suprised you said that it would be more interesting if madeline turned out to be monicas’ sister. When they were both much younger, leslie charleson and donna mills were sisters; laura donnelly and iris garrison on a soap called love is a many splendored thing.!!!!!! What I want to know is does nathan know that “mother” isn’t really his mother but his aunt?

      • FAS

        April 24, 2014 at 4:11 pm

Yes, Nathan knows the truth about his real mother…Maddie told him.

We are lucky that the Nurses Ball is even around. JFP shut this down because it was difficult for her to produce and it wouldn’t focus enough attention on her precious Steve Burton! We should thank Frank and Ron for bringing this back so stop with your negative attitude!!!!

      • Carolyn Davis

        May 10, 2014 at 1:14 am

You know there was nothing wrong with Steve Burton and still is nothing wrong with Steve Burton. Do you realize he was on the show way before she was producing it? He is doing a job if the is way Jill Phelps told him to do that then that is what he was supposed to do for his job. You were free to change the station if you didnt like it. Yes I am glad they brought back the Nurse’s ball I enjoy it, I am just tired of people whining about Steve Burton. He left for a better life for his family. Get over it.

Such a waste of air-time and Tony’s acting skills. Makes Tracy look an idiot, too!

      • Patrick

        April 24, 2014 at 2:31 pm

therein lies, my stickler…. the great Jane Elliott…

        it’s a given… that Anthony Geary and Jane… are the top draw…

        however, it’s beyond lame…

I’m certain… AG is “trying” to come across as a character to revile… shall we say near sadistic…. LOL

        but… I’m not buying it….
he already has too many holes to patch…

what with Ned… sign the pre-nup – the setup on the horizon… with dull Kiki
why the witers have mega watt Tracy dim over Kiki… is unfathomable
they’re going way to overboard with the cutesy cutesy Spenser

my other beef… I certainly hope.. Carlos isn’t going by the wayside… and exiting… he has an energy all his own… doesn’t overact… over-reach… he was just as good in his scenes with Franco… at the jail…..

It’s darned near over… what an abomination… whats happened to Franco and Carly… puke… enough already… he’s still scintillating… is that enough to save him?

      • shauna

I agree about creepy Luke!! I think it is Jerry!! What is with Spencer? What little boy behaves like that? His father, uncle, cousin needs to have a little talk with him and a major time out for the little prince!

      • Patrick

        April 24, 2014 at 2:33 pm

        I know, right?

        woah… reign him IN

little Emma can get away with that

little Spence needs some time out

      • FAS

Oh, but he is such a precocious cutie, ” Le Petit Prince” is.

      • Shay

        April 25, 2014 at 6:46 am

While I adore little Spencer’s fabulous “fashion sense,” he is only tolerable in small doses…particularly since he seems to require a speech coach… whenever he has too much dialogue he just screams out his lines and his slight impediment becomes very pronounced and annoying! Actually have had enough of the whole Romper Room Romance set….it is getting creepy. Once again, Emma has become waaaay tooo bratty with the babymama nurse around….just cannot stand the two of them together…the whole “happy family” dynamic is just laid on tooooo thick! Anna was fabulous with her yesterday, but she should have gotten her the heck out of that accident situation ASAP! However, Cameron is an absolute cutie..a sweet, composed little boy….has a lot of his mother Liz in him!!!!

      • shauna

I would SO love that, too! I miss the 90’s-seeing him and Mary Mae perform in Luke’s old club. Such an awesome era! I’d love to see John Stamos make an appearance, too. He and Kin Shriner would be great together-comedy-wise.

      • Tammy Khaos Kreiss

        April 24, 2014 at 1:39 pm

I think that was Kimberly’s choice.

    • su0000

      April 23, 2014 at 10:57 pm

      LOL not gonna happen– 🙂
Kim/Robin left GH, not FV or RC’s decision .. she did not want to be with GH, she left and moved on all her fans should move on too.. ..
GH can not make something happen that she does not want to happen lol ..
The ball is for a cause not for Robin 🙂
      it will be good ..
the ball will not be as in the 80’s and up because the people who made those nurses balls the way they were, those people are gone, no longer with GH..
So, now the nurses balls are for this generation of new players and will be different from past decades.. all will do very well, they are talented.. 🙂

      • lynn

        April 25, 2014 at 10:40 am

Took the words right outta my mouth!

These people are gone! Some of them REALLY gone! I miss them too, but let’s give this group a chance to make memories that we’ll reminisce about in 30 years…
        We can’t go home again.
And we can’t blame the show runners for the decision of the players to move on for what they perceive to be greener pastures. It’s their JOB, they have personal choices to make. People like to be happy in their job, that’s life, or how it should be!

      • Elite Advisors

        April 25, 2014 at 5:28 pm

It was Kimberly McCullough’s choice to leave the show. Can’t blame GH for that.

      • Mary SF

        April 24, 2014 at 4:52 pm

But it was GH fault for convincing her to comeback for a short time and selling it like she was back for a while– the old bait and switch. At no time when they announced her return did they let us know it would only be for six months. It wasn’t like she decided to come back then changed her mind and left again– they mislead viewers and for that I do blame GH. If they had been honest from the get go many would not have felt cheated when she “left”, again, when in fact she was never really going stay and they should have told us that.

Robin should be there…maybe she will or maybe not…its not entirely GHs fault…km may be committed to other projects…i say replace her with Elizabeth Hedrickson if the actress is willing to do anoher soap and let Kim go do her dream career of directing!!!

    • Noelle

I agree they should have worked out something with Kimberly to be at the nurses ball, although I don’t much care for where some of these story lines are going and don’t care much for some of the new people,I am however grateful that GH is still on TV,I miss my other ABC soaps,so I will sit back and watch what GH has and hope that they will try and give us some better people and better story lines, forever hoping they will brig back Lucky and Spinelli he was so comical to watch……

While that would be super, it is time to accept that the “Good Ship Robin” has sailed, and she most likely won’t be coming back to Port (Charles) for quite a long time. Although I enjoyed KMc’s briefly triumphant return, and most particularly, her temporary vanquishing of the “Sabzilla” monster in Patrick’s life, it is unrealistic to expect the character to have any major presence in the foreseeable future. The best that can be hoped for in the short term is probably a mention and maybe a message to her family…there definitely should be something soon, as the complete silence regarding Dr. Scorpio-Drake is getting ridiculous, although I do believe that Victor Cassadine’s upcoming visit will include some news of Robin.

Wasn’t the Nurses Ball just a few months ago? Shouldn’t it be only once a year? Im so disappointed in Gh. When Ron & Frank first came on they really turned it around, but its a mess now. I had hoped the Qs would be front & center, but they ruined AJ, Sean played him so well. I can only hope they give Monica a really great story, long over due! The mob stories are fine, but give us something more!

How often do you watch? Nurses Ball 2013 aired the week of April 5-9, 2013, coinciding w/GH’s 50th anniversary. And, there have been many more stories this past year other than the mob ones. The whole Falconeri baby/babies switch, Robin’s rescue/return/departure, Danny’s cure, Nicholas & his revolving houseguest, the misadventures of Heather & her son Franco. IMO its much more balanced now than it’s ever been.

Have alway enjoyed Nurses ball, so nice they brought it back, would be great to have Ned do a song as Eddie, I agree s/l are getting carried away , and the talented Tony Gearys NuLuke needs to be called out. I do not think anyone is enjoying it. Having Sabrina get pregnant to have the baby in crisis i not good. Julian and Alexis need to move there s/l forward. As far a who should be in it , why everyone posible , of course. The usual Hot men line up should be good this yr. Hoping both Kristen (kiki) and Epiiphany sing,(both great voice)

I second the post from Aria above. Everything they said was right on point. Last years Nurses Ball was the worst ever. I am sure the most important will be absent (it is RC style) and none of us will care about the rest. My guess is Patrick and Sabrina will both be absent. So I could care less. And last year if thier idea of Sonya Eddy being the only decent singer on the cast ….please. The only entertainment right now is AJ haunting Sonny. To bad RC did not write AJ that good when anyone actually cared. I am sick to death of Dr O, enough of her already. I can take her in small doses but now that RC has made her the star of the show it makes it very hard to watch GH these days. As a matter of fact I love the fast forward button so I can just zip right past Dr O and her crazy daughter, and now we have a son and a sister. Good Lord why can’t he use any of the great cast that is just wilting away somewhere. I do believe I am right in sayting I think Ron C writes the show for himself and not the fans.

Sure, let’s let Obrecht be part of it–the woman who held HIV survivor Robin Scorpio Drake hostage for two years, threatened her with death every five minutes, lied to her loved ones for two years, and now has something to do with removing her from them again. Sure, she should be MOC for this event that HONORS the strides against HIV/AIDS. This is really shameful writing. If they really want her to be part of the canvas she should be off camera during the NB torturing little animals or something else in character. Truly makes me sad that the show plunged to these depths.

GET RID OF AVA! the actress/character is awful, too much already, ruining the show. Also the Luke story needs to come to an end or move on, it’s a bore, not interesting, he’s not good in this character. Use the the good stuff, Nik/Liz, Michael/Kiki, Carly/Franco, Sonny with someone good, getting rid of connie BIG MISTAKE! Dante/Lulu, MAXI!!! such good people use them, not AVA, bringing down the whole show. AND GET ROBIN BACK!!!!!!

    • Carol

      April 24, 2014 at 9:36 pm

I agree totally. Ava drives me crazy and like others have said, the fast forward button is wonderful. The Luke storyline line is gross and as far as I am concerned it has made me feel differently about AG and its not his fault, but the writing has done it to me. I think today I watched about 15 mins. of the show and skipped the rest. The kid Spencer; really? Even Elizabeth is getting on my nerves. I also am not crazy about the new man in Maxi’s life…….boring….Another thing, even though Sonny is a Mob Boss I have liked his character, but not anymore. Actually the writer are ruining all the good characters that they have had on the show. Now I ask myself: Why do I watch it?

last year’s nurses ball was must see tv. GH was on top of it’s game. This year is quite a different story. There is nothing appealing about this years stories to culminate at the ball. I have just given up this show. I started watching loyally when the One Life to Live characters transplanted. I became a fan. But the last few weeks I have noticed I no longer watch the shows on my dvd. I fell off, and for the first time do not feel like I;m missing anything. Maxie’s new man is so annoying, Nathan is a terrible actor. I could care less about Madeline and Silas story. Obrecht getting out of jail and running the hospital is an insult to everyone’s intelligence. The newly escalated mob stories are a turn off. Didn’t we conclude that Sonny was why people were tuning out before Valentini took over? Adding “Luke” to this mix is dumb. Let me guess….another rubber mask or something equally idiotic. Olivia has become a total bore……cant she use her powers anymore? Sorry to fans who may be enjoying the show……but I am ready to have 5 hours a week back. I am officially off soaps.

I have to laugh at all these “fair weather” GH fans. All I hear on here lately amounts to “if the writers don’t do what I want, I’m going to quit watching.” Please….quit watching. You’re not appreciating the amazing acting, and you obviously don’t get the idea that soaps suspend reality and exist in an alternative reality. You all talk about “the good old days” with GH… you mean the ones with the Cassadine machine that could freeze the world? Hmmm. How about the Ice Princess, or the Alien Casey? Those days WERE great fun…but some of the strangest storylines on tv. And they were gobbled up by the fans. Do I like all of the storylines right now? Nope. But would I quit watching because these particular stories aren’t my cup of tea? Oh heck no. Because with soaps, you never know what’s just around the corner. But if you want to quit watching, please, just do so, and quit announcing it like it is going to make a bit of difference to the writers or the network. Remember, you’re one person, not the majority. The whining is insufferable. Oh, and why do I read it if it bothers me? Because a few of you actually GET it. And see the “stories” for what they are….STORIES. If you don’t like one chapter, just read through to the next one.

Dr. O. can sing ANYTHING and it will be fabulous! Personally, I think “How Am I Supposed To Live Without You” would be a suitable tribute to her beloved Cesar, although “What I Did For Love” or “I Will Survive” could also be a real kick. Perhaps a duet of “Enough is Enough” with Anna (complete with Liesl in Devane disguise?) And for the grand finale, “99 Luftballoons” would be smashing….along with the traditional confetti/balloon drop, of course!

shauna….We are but two of the many AJ fans who were really disappointed and disgusted with his far-too-abbreviated and underwhelming send-off….such an insult it was for the heir to one of the leading families in the history of Port Charles! That egregious oversight really does make one wonder about the motivations of the current regime…they can waste day upon day on some of the most insipid and inconsequential characters and plots ever created, yet quickly gloss over the truly significant matters in the hearts of viewers…..all the while managing to grossly offend them in the same process for good measure! But hey, at least the somber occasion of AJ’s final farewell did not dampen Sonny and Ava’s libidinous tendencies (and subsequent releasing thereof…) which seemingly was the major priority for Friday’s episode….

  24. Johnny

    April 24, 2014 at 6:08 am

Since the TORA (Torso Of Ron’s Affection) seems to have shifted from Milo to Nathan…I am sure we can expect to see the Monotone Man in some performance that involves him removing his clothing. If the show can’t do it right, they shouldn’t do it at all. Having some “stuck at home” is writing laziness dictated by budgetary concerns. Save some of the money on ridiculous and completely unnecessary stunt casting…and pointless newbies….and renting warehouses for mob shoot outs…and give us a full etravaganza. But somehow now….now that this regime has sucked all the heart and soul and humour out of the show…the Nurses Ball seems irrelevant and even kind of silly. The new Chief of Staff is a psychotic criminal who held Robin hostage for 2 years…and it was always Robin who was the emotional epicentre of the ball. This Chief of Staff just shot a nurse in her employ. To have Obrecht out and about anywhere near the hospital or the Ball is just a cartoon.

Showing some jealousy there, Johnny?……I will never tire of watching Nathan…it depends on the poster’s point of you, gender and age, I guess. Yes, a lot of craziness is going on, but, as much as I really dislike some of the characters, I, for one, am extremely entertained, especially by Dr. O. I would rather see Nathan’s chest watch his acting rather than that Johnny- come-lately Levi….no pun intended….lol…( whom you call newbie, and you are right)….sit back, and see what happens.

        April 25, 2014 at 11:57 am

LOL…I agree with you regarding Nathan, FAS…and believe me…you can appreciate a gorgeous guy at ANY age! And as I also mentioned on a previous post, I’m actually getting used to “monotone man” as Johnny so hilariously coined him. For some reason it works for me!

As for Dr. O…I’ve got to agree that she should be nowhere near the Nurse’s Ball. But then again, who said soaps make sense???

As for the extravaganza itself…last year’s was a disaster. The room was full of extras. C’mon, if you’re going to have it then open your checkbooks for the day and pay the cast who make up GH to be there!

Same for AJ’s funeral…the powers-that-be couldn’t spring to have Skye, Brenda, Dillon and Alice attend? It’s a major legacy character’s goodbye…and these people actually LIKED AJ!

And while I’m on the subject, which I know is off subject…I really didn’t need to hear Michael tell Carly and Sonny that he wouldn’t have preferred to grow up with any other parents; meaning yeah, he grew to love AJ but was glad Sonny was his father. Again. COME ON!!!! AJ and his fans didn’t need to be slapped down again. Give the man some respect…have Michael say something like…”I love you dad…but I loved AJ too.” There was NO NEED for Michael to say, on the day he’s mourning, that he STILL is glad he was raised by Sonny!

        And, now…back to the Ball!

      • FAS

        April 26, 2014 at 1:23 pm

You’re right, Rebecca1. The disrespect towards AJ never ends. To be honest, I am sick of Michael and his sad puppy eyes…and his mouth? To his credit though, he has no idea…as far as he knows, Sonny was the father he never knew or had. Fortunately for both himself and AJ, they did finally connect. But, that is neither here nor there. I want to see Sonny , Carly, and Ava walk on hot coal, tarred and feathered and then crucified. Michael needs to grow up, snap out of it and start do his own investigating if he wants real answerers….his character is very weak.
As far as a Carly…I have no use for mothers who put lust before their kids….good mother? I doubt she knows the meaning of the word . “En pareil “…. En par with Ava. I don’t know if these
characters represent some real-life parents or what…..the representation of parenthood is best portrayed by Alexis…she is a hands-on mother. That is what I am used to…from both my parents. Regardless of their children’s age, parents just don’t stop being parents. It drives me nuts, but it is part of who I am. Self respect is what all three characters lack.
This business in the crypt is unforgivable …..not only was it sacrilegious, but revolting. Sonny is a worm…who would hurt his own child that way? It is like adding salt to the open wound Morgan is still grappling with.
        You’re right…back to the ball…

    • shauna

      April 29, 2014 at 9:08 am

I wish they had written AJ better then they did. I liked that him and his son Michael were getting to know each other. As much as I love Sonny and Carly, and agree that while AJ was drinking he shouldn’t have been around Michael, I think he would have cleaned himself up a lot quicker if he knew he would be able to be around his child. But I have to say, the blood that is on AJ’s shirt when he haunts Sonny looks like nail polish.

        April 26, 2014 at 8:20 am

Oh rebecca1, I hear you in reference to AJ’s shambolic send-off!!!! I’m still smarting over Sean Kanan’s untimely departure, so I was at least hoping that his character would receive a goodbye worthy of a Quartermaine heir. Instead we got a secretive ceremony with most of the so-called mourners acting like the deceased was a pariah and perpetrator that is better off gone….no fond farewells in the form of flashbacks or flowery funereal flourishes. There definitely should have been more attendees who had real, palpable feelings of love for our fallen friend….instead his greatest enemies in life were there to taunt him in death….most off-putting! (And by the way, where the heck was Alice? She most surely would have wished to pay her respects to “Mr. AJ.”) As if that shabby little scenario were not insulting enough, then we were treated to Sonny and Ava showing their ultimate disrespect for the man by fouling his final resting place with their furious fornicating….while it may have made for a dramatic denouement, it reeked of really reprehensible regards toward the character of AJ (and by extension, SK….) on the part of Ron C. So very distasteful….That being said, it is a shame that an apparition of the dead Quartermaine didn’t appear before both of those reprobates after their dastardly deed was done…now THAT would have been divine retribution! Speaking of SK, his last performances as a spectre of Sonny’s tortured imagination were truly his finest….makes you weep for what could have been had AJ only been given a suitable storyline from the start! Although a few moments of Sean’s swan song had him detouring into decidedly “Deaconesque” demeanor, it was truly a tour de force of formidable finesse that finally saw our favorite Quartermaine triumph over his fiercest foe in life, yet sadly only after his own tragic death. Awesome last word there, Dude! (The only false note was the ridiculous, unrealistic “bloody” shirt that AJ donned….looked more like he had bumped into Banksy….errrr Franco…on a graffiti spree than having been shot in cold blood.)

Oh my GOD Shay I agree with you 100% on AJ! How they wrote his funeral was just awful. Connies funeral was awful as well, she didn’t even have one! Sonny and Ava screwing at his final resting place was distasteful. and I hated it!

      April 26, 2014 at 5:30 am

Great notion, except what bone does Stavros have to pick with Sonny???? This person is first and foremost after Corinthos….he said he has been planning this revenge for 20 years. I get the part about hating Luke and using his image as additional collateral damage, but I’m mystified as to why this particular Cassadine would have issues with Sonny. I still think that this should be Bill Eckert, but if God forbid they go with that mask-erade device again, then Trevor Lansing would be a good bet or one of the Sollito family from Tracy’s “The City” past.

      • rebecca1

        April 26, 2014 at 9:47 am

You’re right. I was only going on Stavros’s personality. He’s diabolical and lecherous…quite capable of making threats to children, and has a proclivity toward obsession and fixation.

As for the Ava/Sonny tryst…I agreed wtih FAS on a different post (if you can find it somewhere on this site 🙂 ) but as horrific as I found it, (I again agree with you)…I differ in that I thought it made for incredible acting and high drama.

        April 26, 2014 at 9:52 am

Oh! And as far as AJ’s blood…hahahaha.. TOTALLY agree! The fake look of it was so distracting it actually detracted from the scenes for me. How can a professional makeup artist…with so much experience…given all of today’s advancements….put what looked like a ketchup stick-on!

The ONLY excuse I can give is that because he’s an apparition in Sonny’s mind…it was just symbolic and thus wasn’t intended to look realistic. Didn’t work…

@Valerie….Trevor Lansing (played by Stephen Macht) was indeed Ric’s dad, and was supposedly killed after taking a header off a tall building when last seen in Port Charles. (Then again, in “The Chuck,” nobody ever really dies…except AJ, of course. As long as Ron C is around, there won’t be any resurrection for the murdered Quartermaine….LOL.) Trevor was once married to (Ric and) Sonny’s late mother, Adela, in addition to being the long-term lover/mentor of Kate Howard (aka,Connie Falconieri) dating back to the early days of her publishing career in New York City. From the time of his debut on GH, he was an avowed enemy of Dimples Corinthos, due to Sonny’s close relationship to his mother and the way it interfered with the Lansing marriage…..this also explains Ric’s seething antipathy towards his half-brother (who was Adela’s favorite son) although at various junctures there have been so-called efforts at a rapprochement between them. Given the past enmity between the senior Lansing and Sonny, it is a reasonable and plausible assumption that FLuke could in actuality be Trevor. They have a similar build, and there is definitely motivation for Lansing to want to vanquish Sonny and his organization. I’m still not convinced that it is indeed him impersonating Luke, but given the few clues that have been dropped, it is possible. Whoever the imposter is, I think the answer has been staring us in the face all along (no pun intended…) and the bits of information that we have already gleaned should help guess the fakester’s true identity,. I would still prefer it to be Bill Eckert simply because of the lack of need to rely on those silly masks once again, but who knows? Perhaps this perp had plastic surgery to become “Luke-Alike” and thus could be anyone who fits within the parameters of despising Sonny and having been part of the GH landscape 20+ years ago. (Oh, and yes, Eckert did have an affair with Julia Barrett.)

Hi, Beth. I doubt if GH’s PTB can perform miracles. I bet they tried…please remember that Kimberly left ( everyone knew her “jaunt” at GH was temporary) of her own free will. I wish everyone would accept that, even though many of you still question that fact.
On another note, I hope Sabrina’s baby survives. I suppose we will not see her much as she will be on maternity leave…what a way to go…it breaks my heart to see any accident, fake or not, where there are kids involved. I suppose the writers needed to devise a plausible story for Sabrina’s imminent absence. It is no wonder that both Emma’s and Sabrina’s lives were threatened, this was the writers’ scope. So, now, the Little Prince will think that the accident was Luke’s doing and, by the same token, Carlos will think Ava had a hand in it…..I hope no one dies….and, the plot thickens!!!! Lol. I believe that there will be many “reveals” resulting from this accident.

I may not like Ava, but wow…that was some acting today. As far as I’m concerned?…worthy of an Emmy. She was spectacular.

        April 25, 2014 at 5:06 am

Yes, FAS…… spectacularly revolting!!!! First Ms. Jerome shows up uninvited to “Maison de Q”, then as is her habit, struts her slutty stuff into the parlor and makes herself to home by pouring a drink. Talk about bad manners! And as the piece de resistance, she seduces Sonny in the presence of AJ’s just-entombed body…..I’ve heard of dancing on someone’s grave, but never mating in their mausoleum (or copulating in their crypt!) Such behavior was far too unseemly and disgusting even by Ron C’s standards! Also thought Sonny crossing himself during AJ’s pathetically shabby funeral service was downright sacrilegious!!!!! Let’s just say Ava and Corinthos truly are the perfect pair….two peas in a most repellant pod!!!!!

Ava is an alley cat. Anyone will do when in heat. Well, a woman does reach her sexual peak at 40…lol

      • Shay

        April 26, 2014 at 5:44 am

Although a woman’s peak is purported to be at approximately age 40, Alexis surely refutes that point…..despite being a decade older, she still manages to launch herself into a wild sexual frenzy every time Julian walks into a room! Yikes!

      • rebecca1

        April 27, 2014 at 4:04 pm

Hey Shay…a woman’s peak was just another patriarchal study which is now refuted. In actuality…a woman can be in her sexual prime/peak at any age…but a confident mindset is important. Alexis goes thru her insecurities…but when she lets loose…she’s the epitome of mature chicks gone wild! Love her!

      • rebecca1

        April 27, 2014 at 4:10 pm

FAS…I love Julian and Alexis together too. And I love both characters. As for Ava…she’s a bit more cartoonish than Julian; she’s like a non-animated Jessica Rabbit! So when she has sex it always seems like a seduction…whereas Julian just seems hot!

The only time Ava shows vulnerability is when it comes to Morgan. That’s the humanity in her. Even before they became lovers, she protected him from Julian’s threats. It seems for now, at least, that Julian has become more “domestic” and Ava has taken over the dark side…

      • Shay

        April 27, 2014 at 9:05 pm

rebecca1….I was only responding to FAS’s assertion about the “peak age” notion, not making my own judgment call on that matter. Since she is a pre-med grad well on her way to becoming a doctor, I simply deferred to her knowledge as I expected she would be well-aware of the latest school of thought regarding the subject. However, I personally believe pretty much of anything is all in the mind, and I don’t adhere to hard and fast rules as applying across the board. To me, each person is an individual, a unique being, and so generalities mean nothing. That being said, I am not an Alexis fan and never have been, so her fawning adoration and wanton desire for Julian constantly strike me as laughable….in fact, my friends and I find her love scenes downright comedic. From our perspective, they make her look really ridiculous….and as such, my comment was intended to sarcastically convey that thought, not make a scientific statement. So, it would appear that once again we have an issue upon which we obviously disagree…oh well, at least we’ll always have our mutual love of AJ/SK to keep us on the same side of something!!! LOL. ; )

        April 28, 2014 at 6:25 am

Hi rebecca1…. I will be leaving in a couple of days…very busy;…. however, what you say is very true. When I said that a woman’ s sexual peak is at 40, I was being sarcastic…you are correct; it is psychological. I suppose my sarcasm went out the window. Studies have shown that when a certain type of woman is paired with a man who does not display affection or coaxing and goes right into “it”, she will naturally withdraw and it just becomes mechanical….then, of course, there is “that” woman who is a nympho…lol….as is Ava, and the motion of a car may “excite” her. Alexis is okay….I merely suggested that sexy Julian is better paired with her than Carly..
As you say, I am assuming that a well-adjusted sexual relationship is healthy for both partners. I have book-experience…not much personally…lol…When one sees a character such as Ava, sex loses the emotion and becomes just an act. As far as I am concerned, wolves are monogamous for life…..with the same mate…..into what category does the bitch Ava fall? (No of fence to Ms. Well…I think she is a phenomenal actress…from Boston, whom I have spotted on the Vineyard a few times.)
        Again, rebecca1, your wisdom is priceless…”gotta” run…ciao.

Personally, I think yesterday’s action was a truly missed opportunity to get rid of Sobby….of course, I couldn’t condone killing her child, but it would have been saved by the awesome Britt then taken to GH where it was revealed that it needed some sort of lifesaving treatment that required a donation by his bio-dad who, as is turns out, is actually…Car-LOS!!!!! Would have been a great way to tie up this awful storyline, set Patrick free once and for all and send the hirsute hitman away for good with his son in tow!

        April 25, 2014 at 9:17 pm

I agree with FAS. I thought the acting was spectacular by Maurice and Maura…of course their actions were despicable but the tension, angst, guilt, deceit, despair was portrayed with such passion…fierce rage…desperation.

Ya, having sex in the mausoleum where AJ was just interred was beyond disrespectful, the final nail in the coffin (so to speak). But these are twisted characters…Ava is practically a sociopath and Sonny is a man with a tortured heart and instability. It makes perfect sense that they’d continue to do irreparable damage in the midst of madness…which Sonny will probably succumb to once again.

        High drama. Very well done.

Correction….offense…not of fence…sorry…typo. My response to”sexual peak” was also meant for Shay…who has been a font of information for me on her description of everything GH.
Inasmuch as I appreciate Ms.West’s ( whose name I also butchered…sorry,) acting; it is not true to life unless, as you call her, rebecca1, a mature chick gone wild….well, to me it borders more on mature chick off her rocker…pun intended…lol.
Ava’s seeming thirst for sex is all about control…she feeds on it…
I actually see both points of view. GH must be doing something right when here we are debating and speculating.
My lovely Shay…I so appreciate your taking the time to write in CORRECT and precise Italian just for me. Apprezzo il tuo gesto, carissima.

As happy as I am that the Nurse’s Ball was brought back last year; it certainly was not the same. I did enjoy Richard Simmons antagonizing Lucy. I thought that was funny; though, it got mixed reviews. I understand that with budget cuts, it can not be as big as it was during the Claire Labine era, in the 90’s. My suggestion has always been, save money by not hiring useless, recurring actors who have no real ties to Port Charles. I hear there are a lot more teens coming to town, which is typical during the Summer. Honestly, we have plenty. Slim down the cast-the recurring cast and the money saved can go towards the Nurse’s Ball. Also, please do not allow Kristen Alderson to “sing.” Send Kiki packing, please! Quality over quantity. I’d rather have a smaller cast full of talent, than how the canvas currently is set-up.

May I also suggest that as a grateful gesture to all their Canadian fans that GH introduce some characters who hail from north of the border? With the close proximity of Port Charles to Canada, it really makes no sense that there are no peeps who hail from your beautiful country….and while we are on the subject, it certainly would not go amiss to add a Jewish role or two, either. It’s funny how we get bashed over the head about the subject of “diversity,” ad nauseum, and yet many cultures that would be logical due to geographical location remain unrepresented.

The Nurses’ Ball was founded in 1994 by Lucy Coe as a fundraiser for HIV and AIDS awareness and research.
Then 2 years after the first 1994 Nurses’ Ball in 1996 is when Robin Scorpio was diagnosed with HIV.
The Nurses Ball was not created for Robin..

      There were 8 balls..
      1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001
that was it because of the lack of funding.
Then FV and RC brought back the Nurses’ Ball in 5-9, 2013 in honor of the 50th Anniversary of General Hospital.

All should shout up the whining and kiss RC and FV ass for bringing it back .. 🙂

I think since it was her that her first ex-husband and no matter what she and sonny say, micheals’ father said his last words to carly should tell their son the truth.
His other father, the mob boss that micheal and carly and morgan think is so great, the one who hung his birth father by a meat hook to make him give his parental rights which he didn’t want to do, is the person who shot him.
When you find out everything ava did you should tell your son carly that his father didn’t murder a woman in a drunken rage in cold blood over a newspaper article like everyone including aj(cause he couldn’t remember)thought.
I don’t know unless ava told carlos she probably didn’t tell sonny how anyone will really find out what happened before he saw aj trying to choke ava and sonny shot him.
AJ was trying to tell him and sonny wouldn’t listen Ava tried to shoot him and the gun didn’t fire that’s why he was choking her.
Your serial killer boyfriend franco might be right when he said micheal may be stronger than you think. If you don’t tell him and he finds out the truth, you will have another son who loves you but will hardly talk to you and you only see your daughter josslyn part of the year so,caroline as your real uncle luke would callyou, tell your son the truth.!!!!
Also the woman with the crazy mother who will find out she’s got an even crazier aunt, what are they going to do with that storyline? How will nathan handle his mother not being his mother a sister he didn’t know he had and will nikolas please start listening to and believing his son before he ends up not having one. Spencer is just a kid he only knows he heard uncle luke say he’s going to do something to uncle sonny. He also doesn’t know that his real uncle luke would never hurt emma because her grandpa robert is his friend.
We’re leaving miss kiki catherine out of the may sweeps stories when she finds out all the things her mother has done on top of this person who really isn’t luke hittiing on her all the time, she’ll need somebody, Silas this is your chance to forget that stupid madeline storyline they’ve got you in and think about your daughter. Micheal won’t be in too much shape to comfort her he’ll be too busy crying and being mad at carly and sonny for lying to him. Morgan almost the same thing just add ava ’cause wont her being behind the gambling ring come out too? also, morgan may be busy trying to forget everything with scottys’ daughter serena. Can we please find who this person who isn’t luke really is does lulu really have a secnd baby and where is it. Also this really isn’t sweeps worthy but tjs’ mother is she drug dealer or not she have some involvement in the mob? Is shawn really tjs’ father because they slept together a long time ago but she never told him she was pregnant. (have a feeling she isn’t going to tell tj it’s okay to have sex with molly!!)

Sonny hung AJ on a meat hook many years ago and didnt let him off of it until he signed away parental rights to Michael. Thats the “wonderful” father that Michael respects and needs so much. Sonny kidnapped that child and held him hostage all his life. Of course, Sonny was the child’s fourth father. First Carly claimed it was Tony’s, then Jason’s, then she banged Sonny a few times and decided he would make a great father. Yeah…great…because of Sonny…the wonderful father, Michael was in constant danger, he was shot in the head and ina coma for a year, he murdered a woman, was sent to prison, brutally raped, and now…he has lost his father because Sonny murdered him in cold blood. That is the childhood that Carly would choose over and over again for the son she loves so much. As opposed to, say, being a high ranking executive at ELQ and squabbling over Thanksgiving supper. Ya….logic at its finest.

Alright, FAS, as a parting gift to you I will fully admit that Maura West is an unforgettable and skilled actress….she certainly played the beyond depraved Ava in her hot mess mode to the hellacious hilt this past week!!!! I just have always maintained that the presumptuous putana is best served up in small doses…..when the Ava Show comes to town it is just too much to have her all over the place, all the time!!!! She is such a strong, overpowering presence that she rapidly wears out her welcome. Besides, I cannot forgive her for what she did to AJ….killing Connie was one thing, hey, these things happen (LOL…) but to pin the dastardly deed on my favorite Quartermaine was simply unforgiveable (….and boinking Sonny in AJ’s burial chamber certainly did not further endear me to that wanton woman!) For that transgression, I want her pay!!!! But I don’t suppose neither she nor “Sonny Dimples” will be going anywhere soon…they are the new GH “It” couple! Glad to hear that your famiglia are fellow soap aficionados who are able to watch the show in Italy…I must say it would be a real kick to hear “Dr. O.” dubbed into the ultimate romance language, despite doubting it would prove to be quite as comical as her native-tongued Germanic ranting! At any rate, do remember this website is only a click away if a touch of homesickness hits….we’ll be happy to send you some greetings from North America, yet I suspect we’ll be missing you and your clever insights far more than vice-versa! Still, while you are enjoying your fantastic new friends and adventures, please don’t forget your Port Charles pals here, va bene? Arrivederci, Amica! Buon viaggio!!!

I have a feeling that story is going to be that it was not Sonny that shot AJ. That story will be turned around. Wait and see

I am not liking the creepy Luke at all, we better find out that this is another case of imposter with a mask (as lame as that storyline might be).
I’m really beginning to wonder about the writers. While I’m a fan of Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati I see a lot of rehash of storyline both from OLTL and GH. I mean seriously, another car crash!? I would think there could be a more imaginative way to put both Sabrina and Emma in jeopardy. (a stage prop at Emma’s ballet recital?)
I do hope Sabrina loses the baby.. I’m not mean or cruel, of course I wouldn’t want that to happen in real life! I just can’t stand the thought of Sabrina being tied to Patrick forever, I really don’t like her character and Patrick as a couple. It would be more fun if it really was Carlos’s baby and they did have sex on the night of her wedding, but she doesn’t remember.
As for the ‘Nurse’s Ball’ it would be really great to have Anna, Robin and Emma do a routine, Brooklyn Rae Silzer and Finola Hughs are so talented and Robin should be there!

So right about Patrick being unnecessarily anchored to the birthing banshee and her babe….I could have accepted him having been left to rear the child alone had they had the good sense to kill off the whining one in that car crash, but seeing them again pushed off as a family unit was completely puke-inducing. If I had my druthers, they would ship off both Sobby and son with his real father, “Car-LOS!” Would be the most expedient thing to do, and would release Drake Jr. (and us….) from a lifetime of weeping, screeching and squeaking. Good Lord, those delivery scenes were unbearable! (Oh the humanity!….LOL.) Additionally, what adult in their right mind would allow a child Emma’s age to remain present with all of that screaming, moaning—not to mention, poorly acted—- babymama melodrama that transpired? Once she knew that her father was okay, she should have been whisked far away (at least out of earshot….) from that makeshift maternity ward by Anna, who by the way, looked fantastic and was otherwise superb in her dealings with the little girl.

SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW MADELINE KNEW WHERE TO “FIND” THE “PHARMACIST” in the hotel room? The only person who listened into the staged conversation about this was Ava – yet surprise she was not the culprit. So how did Madeline get this info? LUCY EXPLAIN THIS .

      soaps are fiction/make-believe..
One can not make sense from make-believe nor explain it… 🙂
just roll with it and enjoy it..
Stephen King’s novels can not be made total sense of either.. lol .. but I love ’em!

Hmmmm, Ricky…good question. Would it have been possible for Nathan to have said something? Perhaps Maddie was sneaking around and listening to his conversations, on the phone or otherwise.

I would really like to see Epiphany have a big roll in the Ball, and bring her with a great story line (who knows maybe with a long lost child she gave up, a husband that was either supposed to be dead, or he was in jail.) to take the full fall for what he and Epiphany did, I don’t know I am not a write. but she needs to come back, She is like Lucy was back in the old days, tough funny respected, BRING HER BACK PLEASE, I have been watching GH from the beginning, My mother got me hook when I would get home from school, I was 11 years old lol.

    • Shay

      April 26, 2014 at 5:36 am

Agreed. Epiphany is such a unique character, and SE a rare talent. She has been far too underused in years past. I would love to see her perform “It’s Raining Men” at the NB with Lucas, Brad and Nathan as her “Weatherboys!”

The Nurses’ ball was such an embarrassment last year… It look like it was being held in a church basement w/ 5 people attending… I won’t even get into how ridiculous the Richard Simmons bit was -cringe worthy… If they can’t write and produce a better, fun version I almost wish they didn’t do the Nurses’ Ball at all. The Ball as an iconic GH moment, produced beautifully w/ all the cast and fun, fun numbers — Don’t friggin blow it again…

    • su0000

      April 25, 2014 at 8:34 pm

It was held in a room on the set..
      It was done nicely..
A stage, tables, lighting, decorated etc etc.. all from a room on the set..
There is no grand ballroom on the set … lol 🙂
not to mention the budget .
there was no nurses ball for 12 years because no money to produce one..
All in all, the ball was well done with the budget allowed ..

      • Charday

        April 26, 2014 at 2:22 pm

I enjoyed the Nurse’s Ball last year, but I do agree it seemed to be a budget ball. And please, no Richard Simmons this year!

“It was held in a room on the set.
Ilona was using a simile when she wrote that it appeared that the Nurse’s Ball looked like it was held in a church basement. She was being figurative. I am sure she is well aware that the Nurse’s Ball was held on a room in a set but maybe she needs to be reminded that hey, it’s just a soap opera.

      • ilona

        April 27, 2014 at 8:10 am

LOL – of course it was shot on a set as I assume all the other balls were – yet didn’t look like a church basement. And, come on, there were hardly any Port Chuckles people there – What? About 5 tables. It was done on the cheap… very, very cheap… no creative design imagination… bad lighting… awful writing… it was that disappointing and Richard Simmons bizarre storyline and acting and behavior just tanked whatever was good about it. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it. 😉

I would like to see Rick Springfield again and Frisco, hope both perform. I am soooo ready for everyone to find out that AJ did not kill Connie, ready for Ava to get what’s coming to her! Ready for the real Luke Spencer to come back. Luke’s fans dont want to see Luke acting this way, enough already! When is Laura coming back?? I miss AJ, think it was a mistake to let him go! oh would love to see the guys dance again in the Nurses ball, they were great! Bring back Spinelli for the ball, we miss him!

    • Shay

      April 26, 2014 at 8:07 pm

Ditto that, Regina! Although I would be greatly surprised to ever see Frisco return, which is a real shame because JW had many wonderful tunes in addition to “All I Need.” Would be ever so fabulous to see him perform on GH again. Hopefully, Rick Springfield will make an encore appearance…or perhaps “Eli Love” will be this year’s special guest!!!!!

I have watched GH off and on over the years, only recently have I been watching more frequently and regularly and I’m hooked. Sure it’s far from perfect, but it’s soapy, campy fun that keeps me and many others tuning in. To all those who can do nothing but complain, change the channel or shut it off. No one is forcing you to watch. The fact that you’re still watching says it all!

I am in love with the Nurse’s Ball. Everytime Lucy looses her clothes. I will say the opening number was totally unexpected. I was laughing cuz I just love Obrecht. She is a good singer and entainer. Can’t wait to see the rest.

This year’s nurses ball was horrible. No thought or effort was put into it. I fast forwarded the performances. Hopefully next year will be better. The overall writing of gh has fallen off.

GH’s Michael Easton Posts “Ask Me Anything” Part Two

Over the coronavirus pandemic General Hospital star Michael Easton (Hamilton Finn) has been answering several fans questions posted to him in a series of posts on his official Facebook page.

This week, Easton posted part two of his “Ask Me Anything”, and the fan favorite said he he will do his best to get through everyone’s questions and thanked those who made donations to America Health Care Workers and food banks during COVID-19.

In part two; questions ranged from: his connection with his on-screen brother played by Josh Swickard, if he would ever consider a return to Days of our Lives to reprise the role of Tanner Scofield (his first soap role), what is his favorite part of playing Hamilton Finn, and the casting of his on-screen daughter Violet played by Jophielle Love and more.

One question posed to Easton revolved around the just completed Daytime Emmys, when he was asked: “How many times have you submitted yourself for the Emmys? Some actors seem to put a real emphasis on being nominated but you don’t seem to care that much?”

Michael responded: “I’m pacing myself. I’ve maybe submitted three or four times in twenty years. It’s a lovely honor but not something I focus on. Everyday I try to give the best, most truthful performance I can and as I long as I can do that…I live with myself.”

Make sure to “Like” Michael’s official Facebook page, if you have not already to see more of his “Ask Me Anything’s”

So, what are your hopes for Hamilton Finn when Michael returns to taping new episodes of General Hospital in the future?

WATCH: 47th Annual Daytime Emmy Winners Virtual Interviews

This year’s 47th annual Daytime Emmy Awards were back on television for the first time since 2011, and back on CBS.  Due to the times we are living in the throes of the coronavirus pandemic, the usual kudofest, honoring the best in daytime programming, had to move from its originally scheduled live event to a virtual one.

That also means for us at Michael Fairman TV, the usual backstage “Winner’s Walk” interviews conducted immediately following some of your daytime drama favorites big wins also had to altered for this unique year.

So we had our own, if you will, “Virtual Winner’s Walk” albeit without the walk and without the glitz and glamour.  That being said, it all felt much more intimate as we spoke immediately following Friday night’s broadcast with these newly crowned winners:  Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series winner, The Young and the Restless’ Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott); Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series winner, The Bold and the Beautiful’s Heather Tom (Katie Logan Spencer); who tied One Life to Live’s Erika Slezak (Ex-Viki) with the most wins by an actress in Daytime Emmy history with 6,  Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series winner, The Young and the Restless’ Bryton James (Devon), and Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series winner, The Young and the Restless’, Eva Larue (Ex-Celeste).  All four of these conversations were emotional, candid, and touching.

Over the weekend, we caught up with Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series winner, Tamara Braun (Ex-Kim Nero, General Hospital) for another heartfelt chat on her second all-time win in the category, and Outstanding Writing Team in a Drama Series winner, The Bold and the Beautiful’s executive producer and head writer, Brad Bell, who won this award for the fifth time in his career as he shared how much he learned from his late legendary parents and Y&R and B&B co-creators: Lee Phillip Bell, who was part of the In-Memoriam tribute on the telecast, and the late Bill Bell.

Each of these interviewsare also posted on The Michael Fairman Channel on You Tube.  Make sure to “subscribe” to the channel for more celebrity interviews and features.

Now watch the reactions, thoughts and emotions of this year’s major Daytime Drama Emmy winners below!  Then let us know, who you were most excited about being honored with the Emmy, and more via the comment section .

47th Annual Daytime Emmys Draws Over 3 Million Viewers For CBS Telecast with Return to Network TV

Friday night was a good night for daytime!  With its first foray back on to network television since 2011, the Daytime Emmy kudofest, while for the first time held this year virtually, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, scored very well in its timeslot.

The CBS broadcast averaged 3.1 million total viewers and a 0.3 demo rating.  That is way up from the last time viewers saw the award show on TV when it was on cable network POP TV back in 2015 with just over 900,000 viewers for its initial broadcast.

According to TV Insider report: The first hour of the Emmys garnered 3.3 million viewers to top the hour by edging out a rerun on ABC”s Shark Tank, and then slipped to second place for the second hour with 2.8 million viewers.

These were strong numbers for Friday night, and hopefully CBS and the other major networks will now continue this, and serve up the Daytime Emmy Awards moving forward.

The ladies of CBS’s The Talk hosted the event; each virtually from their homes, in an event filled with at-home acceptance speeches and presenters, and clip packages. The show was produced by NATAS and Associated Television International

So, what do you think of the ratings performance of this year’s Daytime Emmys?  Comment below.
