The Revolution's EP, J.D. Roth put on the hot seat about replacing soaps, says, "I did not Kill Erica Kane!"

Ah, first of all J.D., you did not kill Erica Kane, you in essence killed Victoria Banks, who hopefully became a Buchanan again after Clint’s marriage proposal that was left cliff-hanged in the final episode of OLTL!  Now moving on …  TV Guide spoke with The Revolution showrunner about why people should tune-in to his show about empowering women to get their butts in gear, and that he says he had nothing to do with replacing the soaps.  In fact, he says he did not know till five minutes before the press release went out confirming his show was hitting the air replacing a soap opera!  Here are a few unnerving excerpts!

J.D on what the worst thing anyone has said about The Revolution: “I can’t believe they took my favorite soap opera off the air for this.”  I want to change that and empower people to feel good about what they’re doing. I know that sounds Pollyanna, but I really believe it.”

J.D on what he says to soap opera fans who are livid that The Revolution is on the air, while their soaps are gone! “I did not kill Erica Kane. I have a lot of respect for the art of the soap opera and the storytelling. But remember, I make TV shows, I don’t program them. I didn’t know this was going to replace the soaps until — and this is no exaggeration — five minutes before the press release went out.”

J.D. on if he had to come up with an alternate title for The Revolution, what would it be? “Fat Chance. It has a double meaning:  Fat chance that you can lose all the weight and get your life back in order. And it’s giving someone who’s overweight a chance.”

OK, sound off on this one folks!

I call bulslhit when I hear bullshit. He knew exactly what and when his show was going to replace. Am I bitter? Hell yeah! I want my OLTL back. I have not turned on ABC daytime since January 13th and I don’t see me turning back in ever again unless OLTL is brought back, and I don’t see that happening, so good bye to ABC Daytime.

Well said, I support 100%, I also stopped watch ABC after January 13.

Yes I did also. I refuse to watch anymore LAME reality bullsh$t
they can all go down in a blaze of shame

love it….I so agree…

the boycott is against abcd, you guys just got caught up in the mess

It was bad enough GUIDING LIGHT was replaced by a retread of a hated game show from 40 years ago. AS THE WORLD TURNS was replaced by five yentas discussing gynecologists, enemas, and diarrhea. ALL MY CHILDREN was replaced by a bunch of low-rent chefs (including Dr. Wizard’s daughter). ONE LIFE TO LIVE was replaced by these five so-called ‘life improvers’. Sorry Pets, I would prefer my Bauers and Hughes clans over Wayne Brady and that no-talented Sheryl Underwear. I would prefer La Kane over Dr. Wizard’s daughter. I would rather watch John Wesley Shipp wreak havoc as Eddie Ford than to watch the self-absorbed Tim Gunn, Ty Wellington and these other three losers.

thank you,and really do I need to know that Tim Gunn hasn’t had sex in like forever….no I don’t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!bring OLTL BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can say that again.

This Roth character would not know Erica Kane from Eddie Ford if his life depended on it. Let’s see, THE GUIDING LIGHT was replaced by Wayne Brady hosting a retread of a bad game show from 40 years ago. AS THE WORLD TURNS was replaced by five (originally six) yentas discussing gynecologists, enemas, and diarrhea. ALL MY CHILDREN was replaced by four low-rent chefs (including Dr. Wizard’s daughter). ONE LIFE TO LIVE was replaced by five self-absorbed self-help gurus. Sorry Pets, I would to have the Bauers back in my living room instead of Wayne Brady. I would rather have Dr. Bob Hughes dispensing advice instead of watching the untalented Sheryl Underwear. I would rather have La Kane back instead of Dr. Wizard’s daughter showing her dishes. I would rather watch John Wesley Shipp wreak havoc as Eddie Ford than to watch five overinflated egos.

LOVE THIS,SO TRUE,AND WELL WRITTEN….MISS ALL SOAPS,ON ALL OUR STATIONS….THE SUITS ARE GOING FOR CHEAP REALITY SHOWS…I GUESS WE ARE STUPID….WE NEED TO BE TOLD EVERYTHING,EVEN WHAT WE WANT TO WATCH ON TV..I DON’T THINK SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

will never watch. bring back One Life to Live!

I totally agree with you Christine he knew what show he was replacing all along.. I think it is stupid and I will never tune into this replacement show.

Whatever. ABC still sucks. the show still sucks, whether you killed Erica or Vicki, The Revolution should not be on air. just put OLTL back on tv and admit your mistake. get your viewers back. easy.

I AGREE THEY NEED TO GET RID OF THE LOSERS & PUT OUR TWO SOAP OPERAS BACK ON THAT THEY TOOK OFF THE AIR. GIVE US BACK OUR SHOWS ABC

ha ha, THE REVOLUTION SHOULD NOT BE TELEVISED!!!

Fat chance?! There are/have been enough of those kinds of shows too! Can’t anyone at that network just ADMIT it was a pisspoor decision that was fully based on GREED> I heard they saved like 40% budget on this Revolting show and The Spew…Why couldn’t they have maybe cut 2 or all 3 soaps down to 30 minutes, correct me if I’m wrong wouldn’t that have been a 50% savings???? WHY did they have to be do drastic….I STILL can’t believe it, and the fact they they shuffled a couple people to GH makes up for nothing. It’s not the same at all and it was a desperate backpedal move. We were all personally dedicated to our characters on OUR shows. BAD move for them with such a dedicated fanbase, pretty low.

There is no way the executive producer of the Revulsion didn`t know that his program was replacing OLTL! With the huge outcry by the betrayed fans about the Spew replacing AMC, it`s just not possible. He is just trying to save his sorry behind from the angry soap fans. Good luck with that! We will never stop lobbying for our soaps to return.

Does this idiot not sound exactly like someone Frons and SweeneyTodd would hire?

So is there a FAT CHANCE any of us are going to watch this dreck? Another misogynistic jerk telling women how to live.

I don’t care if u knew 5 minutes or 5 months before the press release, your show is a sad replacement for One Life to Live and I hope it gets cancelled. Thank you have a nice day

Thank you very much but my ass is fine the way it is ,I use my treadmill when I watch my soaps and I did not have to watch a crappy show like yours to know how to loose weight.I like that (tv guide)told this moron he didnt kill erika kane that stupid chew show did ,But this guy is responsible for killing Vicki, clint,bo,nora, dorian, david roxy, jessica ,tia, todd, victor, natilie ,john, all my favorite characters from a show with heart something this guy doesnt know about, the revolution should be canceled now,and one live to live should be brought back. And abc/disney should admit defeat.

Have never watched the show, never will. Unless, as I promised on another blog – if the Revolution is not cancelled in the near future I promised to watch it for one full week! I am so sure this lame excuse for infotainment will be cancelled, GH will take it’s timeslot as a lead-in for Katie, that I made that promise. I should add a disclaimer – OLTL was my all-time favorite show that I loved and miss dearly 🙁 I am biased, but not stupid.

J.D. Roth should have stuck with his show “My Cat from Hell” at least that show is OK and didn’t replace iconic daytime staples. And as far as “Fat Chance”, that’s more offensive than “The Biggest Loser”. Just saying.

I cant stand the commercials, how can you promise to watch it for a full week? I hope for your sake and mine its canceled as soon as possible.

barbara t, I’m counting on it! But I really feel it’s a safe bet. There is no way this show will not be cancelled before Katie shows her face on ABC daytime. If I’m wrong, well I guess I’ll keep the puke bucket handy and lose some weight that way. lol

MBmomof3,Hopefully you wont need a puck bucket, lol but seriously lets hope its canceled soon.

“Fat Chance” this show stays on the air.

I second that.

You couldn’t even pay me to watch this show. And as we all know ABC has paid people to be in the audience. I hate ABC for cancelling OLTL for this stupid garbage.
I would be embarassed to watch the Spew or the Revulsion or anything else on ABC except for GH.

I stopped watch ABC from 1-2 & 2-3 when ABC killed off All My Children & One Life To Live…. I only watch from 3-4…. I DON’T EVEN WATCH ABC AT NIGHT TIME BECAUSE OF THIS CHANGE…….. GET THE SOAPS BACK ON TV ABC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a strong, confident, well-read woman, I have no need of infomercial shows like The Revolution, whose entire premise is that we’re not good enough. Well, I AM good enough, and intelligent enough to know a con when I see one. The idea that he “didn’t know he was replacing a soap” is entirely bogus. Just WHERE did he think his show was going to go?

Sorry, but I’ve no interest in watching either of the replacement shows. They’re a waste of air. Now, if they bring back OLTL, obviously I’ll be back as a loyal viewer. Until then, they can count me out of ABC Daytime, except for GH.

hardcore———-

Thx Michael for speaking what most of us are thinking… good critic!

You bet he knew it and knew it all along, and they all were getting a good hee-haw out of too. Well look who”s crying in his beer….I never watched that stupid show and I don’t know a single person who was watching it. There are a ton of life changing shows on the satillite. They should of pulled it after the 2nd week and put our OLTL back in production and all the castmates and crew back to work. Another show thats ridiculous beyond words is the brainless bunch on The Chew! How many cooking shows do we need??? I have watched these soaps for over 42 years and not one was a repeat.
I cannot be trained to watch something else and I am not a Bon Bon eating popcorn popping old lady that has nothing better to do then sit and watch what I am told to, or expected to. I watched my soaps because I loved them and considred them part of my family. Wake up ABC give us back our programs!

FIRST of all, NO ONE and NO SHOW can do the informative thing like Oprah’s Show did it. Her staff were ‘master’s’ at it-cultivated for 25 year’s, and after 25 year’s IF people don’t get it, they NEVER will. SECOND: How can J.D. Roth say: ” He did not know till five minutes before the press release went out confirming his show was hitting the air replacing a soap opera! ” That’s baloney, a BOLD FACED LIE….! When the show was purposed/ brought up as a concept, WHERE IN THE HELL did he think his show was going to air (with a daytime line-up already in place) did he think his show was going to air BETWEEN commercial breaks? lol Obviously, when ‘ talks’ started about his show, the FIRST question that was asked was: WHAT NETWORK, and what time…. before the format of the show EVEN begun to be put in place. ALL that is done and negotiated before PRESS RELEASES go out! He must think ‘soap fans’ are IDIOTS, and ALL they do is sit home and watch soaps. WRONG! Soap fans are some of the most diverse people on the planet, of different ages, backgrounds, ethnic groups and education. Yes, ‘soap fans’ are EDUCATED, too. I got my degree while watching soaps on a daily basis. Go talk that garbage to someone who cares. That’s why I don’t like recanting the ‘same ole’ thing daily on this site. Either FIGHT (send soap, call Disney DAILY, keep the petitions going, write other networks, organize a march at ABC STUDIOS) to bring OLTL back/give Agnes her shows, OR let OLTL rest in peace and move on. It’s a WASTE of energy just talking about it and doing nothing…! I come on this site everyday, and it’s the ‘same ole’. Now with this statement of J.D Roth, it’s just keeps the DRAMA going on and on, and what GOOD is it doing ‘ any ‘ of us, personally, or on a spiritual level, BUT keeping us upset. Have a Niee Day!

Sounds like hogwash to me. We know he knew when & where his own show was going. If by chance he didn’t know then he isn’ much of a professional. I agree–He killed our beloved Victorial banks & we are very angry. OLTL is twice the show the revolution is. The ratings show that. We will continue to boycott your show til it is gonew & OLTL is back.

I miss All My Children desperately and since it has been gone the only thing I’ve watched on this poor excuse for a network has been General Hospital. I will NEVER forgive them, NEVER!!!

J.D. and the rest of the useless hosts on that garbage show can kiss my ass and go straight to hell, as well as the people at ABC who had any say in cancelling the soaps and putting this garbage on.

MY TV ISN’T TURNED ON NOW TILL THE REVULTION IS OVER!!!!, AND WON’T BE TILL IT IS CANCELED. I WILL NOT WATCH THESE ARROGANT SCHMUCKS SPOUTING THEIR TRASH .

You know, I don’t fault JD for the the soaps being cancelled. It’s the fat greedy cats at ABC who put his show in this unfortunate position. With that being said, his show still sucks and empowers no one!

I don’t buy for a minute he didn’t know what he was gonna replace. I agree he didn’t do it, it was the higher ups/Frons/Sweeney but he knew darn well what was happening. His show is offensive to women/kids/men who are ignored. Heck they even had a show that offended my dog 😉 They are just trying to cover their stupidity and ignore the “i told u so’s” from the fans. they need to bite the bullet and re-instate OLTL & AMC! He is right about 1 thing His show didn’t kill Erica Kane but he did take out the Bucanans and the Lords!

Sorry but he killed Viki. I can’t forgive him for that.

He did worse! He killed Viki, the most beloved/revered character on daytime. By the way, FAT CHANCE I’ll ever watch this train wreck of an excuse for a show.

FAT CHANCE anyone wants to watch that crap!

you know the biggest loser would not be successful if it was a 5-day-a-week show either. some people watch BL every week it’s on, and many others watch it once in a while, maybe even one time per season. I don’t want to watch that crap daily.

and JD, dork, anyone can exercise while watching a good soap and it makes the time just fly by cuz it’s just so goooood to watch!

how many people you think watches this revulsion and exercises to it?
i think none. gees, they have to pay people just to sit and watch it live.

soap killer!

I trust Micheal Fairrman and his own words talk about JD Roth didn’t know that his favorite soap show off the air.. Yeah,Right,Mr. JD.. u got screw up and turn over to ABC gave new idea.. both Spew and Revolution replaces both world’s greatest soap show over 40’s years plus. What the hell you were thinking,JD? if u got enough brain up in your head. You never never gave it to ABC or these eh boycott soap fans gonna whopping your A$$, my guess is this is your fault in first place, then I guess that’s your fault anyway.. if u want pull that plug Revolution out…that’s fine with me. Then bring OTOL or GH. For ABC people, you better make right decision this time.. get rid of Revolution and keep GH, if u don’t.. Katie will might find out and gonna say Where’s GH go and she might cancelled her own show and walk out of the show….. that’s all I’m saying is,ABC.. just be careful what u wish for, then u might get it.

Fat Chance is a great alternative title for The Revolution, as in fat chance this show will survive. If he is as dimwitted as his comments suggest, he has a fat chance of making anymore TV shows.

Liar. He sucks and so does his show. May it die a quick death. Long live General Hospital!

This man clearly has no idea what the daytime audience wants. How dare he presume I don’t feel good about myself. I’m just fine and well adjusted, thank you. I have a home, family, flexible job, friends, and I enjoy my soaps! JD, seriously, I already know how to lose weight (duh! diet and exercise, I didn’t need you to KILL my favorite soap for you to tell me that). I know my wardrobe is pretty drab, however it’s clean, functional and works for me (maybe if I hit the mega millions tomorrow, I’ll ask Tim for advice…). Furthermore, I’ve read every self help book written by the great Norman Vincent Peale. There is not one thing your panel can add to his sage advice.
ABC, there is still time. Return OLTL to the 2 pm slot, keep GH at 3, put KC on at 4:00. You would redeem yourselves and make the soap fans so happy we’d help make her talk show a success. Cancel GH and you’ve lost us all forever.

Shelly I agree with you , But if I do win the mega millions tomorrow I will still dress myself Dont need Tim’s advice .I hate those kind of shows ,Boring.

my tv is off most of the time now, i forget to turn it on for gh(sorry guys) my driving force behind daytime tv was OLTL, and they took that away. I will try to watch gh because some of OLTL characters are there. i wont watch a talk show, if i need sleep i will take a sleeping pill…at least a sleeping pill will give me what i want

just remember not to turn on the tv until exactly 2pm or a hair after cuz you don’t the revolusion to get any ratings off of you turning into GH!
😀

5 Days a week I put general hospital on at 3 then as soon as it blacks out just before 4, I change that channel fast, I will never give abc/disney any extra ratings for any reason other then general hospital Im done with the rat channel and they know it I email them 3 times a day letting them know that me and mouse kingdom are finished.I want one live to live back, and it maks me sick that the dopy show they replaced my soap with is sinking in the ratings which I feel good about but sad that I lost my favorite landview characters.WE one live to live fans proved our point ,you dont replace our soaps .

What other shows were there to replace except either OLTL or GH? Obviously, this is another idiot who believes soap fans are stupid. Newsflash: We’re not!

Christel Khalil Reveals She Almost Quit Acting After ‘That’s So Raven’ Audition, But Then Came ‘The Young and the Restless’

Published

The Young and the Restless fan favorite, Christel Khalil (Lily Winters) is the special guest on this week’s edition of Soapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart which dropped today on Tuesday, June 23rd.

During the interview with Rebecca and Greg, Khalil who had played Lily Winters on-screen since August of 2002, nearly 24 years with the CBS soap, shared how early on her teenage acting career, she was ready to call it quits in show business, after a heartbreaking audition for the lead of a new Disney Channel sitcom, which later turned out to be the hit seres, That’s So Raven, starring Raven-Symoné which ran for four seasons from 2003-2007.

Christel recalled what happened. “I was 14 and I had always auditioned for all these Disney projects. So I auditioned for That’s So Raven, it was between me and Raven-Symoné and it was called at the time Absolutely Psychic,” explained Khalil. “The character was this girl who had psychic ability, but then when Raven got the role, they named the title of the show after her.”

Photo: CBS

HOW A BROTHERLY TALK CHANGED THE COURSE OF CHRISTEL’S CAREER

Reliving the disappointment to Greg and Rebecca, Christel explained, “I lost that part and I was just so devastated, because for the network call there were 20 people in the room watching me, and I just have always had such performance anxiety. I just completely bombed the audition and it was terrible. So, I was just devastated. I was actually going to quit acting and then I got the final call for The Young and The Restless and I wasn’t going to go.”

It was Khalil’s brother, who actually got her to reconsider, and if he hadn’t, we would not have our Lily Winters in Genoa City! Christel recounted, “I was like, ‘You know what? I’m done. I don’t want to do this anymore. I’m just going to hang out with my friends.’ I was just devastated. My brother, who is seven years older than me, and he had quit acting at the same age that I was at that time. He said to me, ‘I promise you, I actually really regret quitting. Just go on this audition and if you don’t get it, you can quit.'”

Christel’s screen-test for the role of Lily was actually with the late, great, Kristoff St. John who would play her father Neil (Later it was revealed to Lily, that Neil’s brother, Malcolm Winters was her bio-dad).

Photo: CBS

ACTING WAS EASY WITH THE LATE KRISTOFF ST. JOHN

“So, I went (to test for Lily) and I remember the screen-test was with Kristoff St. John. It was just so easy to act with him because he’s just so there. I remember just being on set, and that was my first time there for a screen-test where you were actually on set. I had never experienced that before. It was my first time being with an actor and  having makeup done, which just helps you really be able to do your best work.”

Recalling the screen-test with the St. John, Khalil, “It was where I had to be emotional ( in the scene) and I always had issues being emotional at auditions. But I was there with him, it just came, and it happened. It was natural and I felt so good and it was amazing. It stands out in my mind a lot.”

You can check out the full Soapy conversation with Christel Khalil where she also discusses juggling motherhood, marital life, and the demands of soap operas.

Fan can listen to weekly episodes of Soapy on Audacy or wherever podcasts are available, and can watch full video episodes weekly on the CBS =Brand YouTube Channel. Whether a lifelong fan or discovering the genre for the first time, SOAPY offers a fresh, fun behind-the-scenes look at the stories – and storytellers – that define daytime drama.

Now let us know, over the years what had been your favorite Lily Winters story on Y&R as played by Christel Khalil? What did you think of of Christell’s recollection where she was up for the lead of “That’s So Raven” as a teenager, before it was even titled that? Let us know via the comment section.

Deidre Hall Marks 50 Years as ‘Days of Our Lives’ Dr. Marlena Evans

Published

on

By

If you have ever tuned-in to the soap opera genre over the last 50 years, and witnessed some of the greatest romances, drama, classic and outlandish storylines of all-time, you would have seen Deidre Hall smack dab in the middle of it as longtime Salem heroine, Dr. Marlena Evans.

It was 50 years on this date, June 21, 1976 that Hall first appeared on DAYS on NBC which was its home for 57 years before it moved to its current streaming platform on Peacock in September of 2022.

In Hall’s first episode she was introduced as a psychiatrist treating Mickey Horton (John Clarke) at Bayview Sanitarium after he suffered a complete mental breakdown. Mickey learned that his brother Bill Horton (Edward Mallory) was the biological son of Mike Horton (Wesley Eure) with his wife Laura (Susan Flannery) and that he had been lied to for years and years. From that moment on, the rest is television and soap opera history. Days of Our Lives put Hall front and center.

Photo: NBC

There were so many heartbreaking and shocking story twists involving the beloved Marlena. One of the first was the historic crib death of baby DJ (Don Jr.) in 1980, Marlena’s infant son with Don Craig (Jed Allan). The story had never been told on daytime television and Hall’s performances received accolades from TV critics to fans when Deidre received thousands of letters from grieving mothers who had gone through the same thing in their own lives.

DAYS also brought Deidre’s twin sister, Andrea Hall Lovell to the show as her on-screen sister Samantha, who had a grudge and even locked Marlena up in a sanitarium and took her place! Fast-forward and in 1982, DAYS launched the Salem Strangler story where everyone believed Marlena was his next victim, only it turned out to be Samatha. Jake Kositchek (played by Jack Coleman) was revealed to be the actual serial killer.

Later, Deidre would assume the role of Marlena’s look-alike, Hattie Adams in 2004, once played by her sister, Andrea. Over the years, Hattie has come back to Salem and caused trouble giving Hall a chance to play a different type of character, then the always upstanding Marlena.

Photo: JPI

THE LOVES OF MARLENA

Deidre Hall struck gold with all her leading men: from the late Jed Allan, to Wayne Northrop as Roman Brady, and of course, her enduring love story with the late John Black played by the iconic Drake Hogestyn. In fact, Marlena’s 1986 wedding to John (who was believed to be Roman at the time) remains a favorite of fans to this day.

TOP MARLENA STORYLINES OF ALL-TIME

While the list is long, here are several that were some of the memorable during Deidre’s five decades in Salem!

The Possession (1994- 1995)
Considered one of the most ambiguous, outlandish and unforgettable story arcs in soap opera history, then Days of Our Lives head writer, James Reilly went there! Marlena was possessed by the devil! That included; the demonic eyes, hissing at father John (Black) the priest, morphing into creatures, and the classic levitating in her bed! It became a cultural phenomenon and cemented Deidre Hall’s status as a daytime television legend. Just ask Ryan Gosling!

Photo:JPI

The Affair with John Black (1993)
John and Marlena’s forbidden love could not be denied and they had passionate affair, while she was still married to the real Roman. Problem was her daughter, Sami (Alison Sweeney) caught her mother having sex with John on a desk that changed Sami forever.

The Salem Stalker Mystery (2003-2004)
In a shocker, Marlena was revealed to be a serial killer who bumped off several Salem favorites residents who were all alive on the island of Melaswen (spelled “New Salem” backward). Turns out, she was manipulated and gaslighted by Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) to do the “killings” and had no memory of her actions.

The Pier Scene (1991)
This remains Michael Fairman TV’s all-time favorite Deidre Hall moment, which featured some of the best acting in the storied careers of both Hall and Drake Hogestyn.

In the story, a presumed-dead Marlena returns after four years. One foggy night on the pier, John is alone, and Marlena steps out of the fog to reveal herself, and is reunited with the love of her life. You can watch it any year, any decade, and in any moment, and it will have you reaching for the hankies again and again. (best music score fo a soap scene of all-time too!)

Photo: NBC

Kristen’s Secret Room Reveal (1997)
Marlena was caught in Kristen Blake’s (Eileen Davidson) elaborate web of lies, when she was held hostage in a secret wine cellar/room until John managed to track her down, leading to an iconic on-screen reunion. The classic catfight between Hall and Eileen Davidson was one for the ages.

It should be noted that Maison Blanche, Queen of the Night, Possession, Aremid and Lady in a Cage were all a part of classic DAYS storyline and all featured Hall at the epicenter of it from 1993-1996.

THE RECENT YEARS OF MARLENA

In recent years, DAYS brought back the possession 2.0 storyline under then head writer Ron Carlivati in 2021 where the devil leapt back in Marlena after taking advantage of a frail Doug Williams (the late Bill Hayes)

In 2025, viewers watched the end of the love story of John and Marlena, as John succumbed to injuries sustained in an explosion saving a vial of medication needed to bring Bo (Peter Reckell) back to life. Marlena has been a widow on-screen since June of 2025 as Hall as portrayed the good doctor struggling with her grief and to move on with her life since his death.

Photo: JPI

One story that never goes away is Stefano DiMera’s (the late Joe Mascolo) obsession with Marlena, his “Queen of the Night.” Even in death, Stefano is toying with her from the great beyond with the mysterious chess set and the missing “pawn,” that he had gifted John and Marlena in his will. The mystery is currently unfolding on all-new episodes of Days of Our Lives.

Tune-in to Days of our Lives on the Monday, June 22 episode as Marlena looks back at her 50 years in Salem.

Share your congratulations to Deidre Hall for this incredible 50-year milestone as Dr. Marlena Evans on Days of Our Lives in the comment section. Then let us know, what is your all-time favorite storyline or moment in the life of Marlena over the past 5 decades? And, just for kicks, and to celebrate this amazing milestone, here is Marlena levitating below circa Christmas Eve 1994.
