The Revolution's ratings continue to erode! Has half the audience OLTL had a year ago!

While One Life to Live viewers are now in week four without their favorite soap, week three of its replacement, The Revolution, proved to be disastrous and quite the embarrassment for ABC Daytime programming in the just released ratings for the week of January 30th!

According to TV Media Insight, “Based on the Live Plus Same Day ratings from Nielsen, week three of ABC daytime talk show The Revolution dipped to 1.44 million viewers, which is now half the audience of year-ago occupant One Life to Live (2.85 million viewers for the week of 1/31/11). ”  Can you imagine?  They cancelled One Life for ratings like these?

But that is not all the bad news for the lifestyle/makeover series! The Revolution has 50 percent less of its share of the audience in three key demos than OLTL a year ago at this time— women 25-54, women 18-49 and women 18-34.  So who we ask,  is this show aimed at when women are clearly tuning out?

TV Media Insight also points out some more fun facts! “Three weeks to-date and The Revolution on ABC is turning into one of the biggest failures in the history of daytime.”  And as far as the last three shows to replace the soaps, The Revolution is lagging way behind The Talk and even, The Chew with The Talk at 2.31 million, The Chew at 2.23, and The Revolution at 1.44 for the ratings week!

On-Air On-Soaps also stumbled across yesterday another casting call that went out for the series taking place in Long Beach, California that read like this: “LOOKING FOR OUR NEXT “HERO” WOMEN for ABC’S NEWEST DAYTIME TALK SHOW! The Producers of The Biggest Loser and ABC’s newest hit Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition have a new daytime talk show for ABC that will help you shed the weight once and for all! Our team of experts will provide YOU with a lifestyle makeover!

We are looking for inspirational and relatable WOMEN who are ready to drop 50-100 lbs and regain control of their lives. On this show, we will provide you with a trainer and nutrition plan to help you lose the weight within your own environment. Have career, family, life situation or kids taken control of your weight? Have you overcome challenging circumstances that have caused you to gain the weight? Are you constantly giving to others or just neglecting yourself? Is it finally time to lose that extra weight?  If you answered yes to any of these, then this is your chance to turn it all around!”

We say, how about turning this all around and putting One Life to Live back on the air and admitting that this was a huge mistake? Since that may never happen, perhaps  because The Revolution is performing way below sub-par that it helps General Hospital get some additional time on the air! Let us know your thoughts to all the above! We know you have plenty to say.

Gosh, you say it’s week 4 without our soap. It seems like it’s been off at least twice as long. I sure miss my One Life. I am boycotting ABC except for GH and Castle (Nathan Fillion supported the soaps verbally). I ‘d like to hear what Michael things we can do to help save GH and hopefully get One Life back on the air somehow in some way.

There isn’t anything that can be done to get back One Life to Live on the air. It’s over.

But if there’s anything that can be done to save General Hospital, I sure would like for Michael and the rest of the community to give us more ideas and suggestions. Until ABC publicly cancelled it, it is never not too late to save General Hospital.

By the way, here’s a list of ABC’s syndicated shows. Boycott all of these shows even if the stations in your local area that is airing them is not affiliated to ABC.

You say that OLTL is over, well it may be for ABC/Disney but we can bring it back on another network. Please don’t be so negative about not getting our shows back. We soap fans are millions strong and we have been heard. If you are not already, go to Facebook and search for the sites that support our soaps and who are supporting Agnes Nixon and who are boycotting ABC/Disney. The sites are called:
SWANS: Standing with Agnes Nixon
Daytime Fans Unite
Boycott ABC
Veto anythings ABC or Disney
OLTL Fan page
SOS: Save Our Soaps
I would pay for cable, satellite, etc to watch our shows

There are also many more just search for anything related to daytime soaps, and please join as many as you can and do the tasks. They are listening and taking notice. We have been heard and they will keep hearing us until our soaps are released to another channel or network. Like you said it is never to late to save our soaps. I add to that statement: Even if they have been cancelled we can get them back.

Thank you for the list.

BOYCOTT the ADVERTISERS of The Chew and The Revolution. Low ratings are not enough for cancellation. With no advertisers, the shows cannot exist. A list of all the advertisers should be posted for all to see. The advertisers have to understand they will be boycotted for supporting ABC’s cancellation of soaps.

STOP watching ALL ABC shows and channels, including the upcoming Academy Awards.

Correction: Advertisers will not know you are boycotting them. We have to watch the commercials on The Chew and The Revolution and WRITE the ADVERTISERS saying WE WILL NOT BUT THEIR PRODUCTS because they support these shows.

Remember the publicity when Hoover stopped advertising when OLTL was canceled?

RE: Im still letting the mouse house hear from me every day,

What is the mouse house?

come on your kidding disney ,just in case you really dont know.when I get mad I like to throw in all the dirty mouse stuff ,last week I read an article ,I thought was interesting , the writer, wish I could remember who or where I read it ,but the writer was saying that maybe disney should get rid of abc .I agree ,I hate the thought of hating goofy ,donald ,mini mouse and all of the disney characters because of the dopes at abc daytime that killed my soaps ,but ,thats the way it goes,I said several years ago, when disney bought abc ,I wondered if disney would even keep the soaps ,well it happened ,years later ,and did they ever kill the soaps.and if general hospital ,which had another bad week along with days of our lives ,there will be two more soaps gone ,then we will be cursing abc even more then we have been.ron hasnt had anything on air yet, cant wait to see what will take place ,i would like to know the day his stories start.kassie depava said her part starts on february 27,she is tapping now.saw a picture of her and carly ,hope those two have a scene or two together .anyway everyone ,keep sending e mails and letters to abc let them know your pissed, and change that channel only watch general hospital.

What U can do is continue to show your fustration by sending soap (get it cheap in large consuptions from the dollar store) and send SOAP BAR’S to the abc studio’s in NYC. Millions of us have. U can call the number tha Barbara t, will be contacting you with. U can sign the petition on Tonja Walker’s Facebook. U can cancel cable and get the DISH (so the Disney and abc dont make a profit off of other Disney Channels). You can do that if U are a home owner, OR encourage other friends and family that to do it that own homes. U can, NOT watch abc other than GH on a daily basis like many of us. We are not just trying to run the revolution off the air, we are trying to cost abc MILLIONS of dollars by NOT watching the network AT ALL other than General Hosp. If U are an abc viewer, definitely don’t have the tube near abc during the hours of 1-3pm which is AMC and OLTL’s timeslot. It’s also best to find another channel to watch the 4 and 5:00pm news, otherwise they will get the audience AFTER Gh goes off. Find another channel and AVOID abc other than GH. Sign all petitions, and CALL abc and complain and NEVER STOP complaining….. It’s t

here are two numbers you can call they are to abc,818 460 7477/663 or 818 560 1000/2 leave a message or e mail them at any abc sight ,they will send you a long dragged out e mail saying they get a large amount of letters cant read them all ,but we at abc care about you, which is bull shit, and then when I e mail back and tell them that they dont care,I do this every day several times ,depends on how angry I get when I think of what abc did to my soaps, just annoy them ,they do get alot of e mails just go to all the abc .com places there are a few,I like to bother them ,just like they bothered me in how they canceled my soaps.there are a few places at facebook that abc has you can bother them there to.tell them you refuse to watch any of there garbage talk and food shows, and will only watch general hospital and all the rest of there programing day time and prime time will not be watched by you until they fix the soap problem,I hope you can use this information .when you do e mail them its amazing how fast you get a e mail back from them ,they are prepared ,but so am I.

ive watchoed o.l.t.l. n g.h. for over 21 years it has been a well needed escape from my daily life not to mention the propaganda of shoving the revolution down r throats i dont want to change who i am because of a show tells me i need to lose weight abc can k.m.a. If they take away sonny corinthos too i,ll have nothing left to watch

ABC is also dead last in the prime time ratings this fall and I believe it is due to the mass boycott of disgruntled soap fans. Their ONLY choice at this point is to make sure that General Hospital takes over The Revolting’s time slot or “Katie” will die a quick death because NO ONE will be watching ABC Daytime at all.

Yet ABC continues to keep The Revolution on theT. V…. Low ratings & all… This show should be cancelled asap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The white lab coat has to go!!!!!!!!!!!! ABC is keeps garbage on daytime & cancels the #1 soap OLTL!!!!!!!! Figure that one out!!!! ABC doesn’t make any sense these days…………I miss OLTL still !!!!!!!!!! Thats a hard one to replace……. In fact it’s unreplaceable!!!!!!!!!! Nothing can replace our beloved soaps!!!!!!!!!!! ABC is at the bottom of the totem pole!!!!!!!!!!

AbC Refuses to admit they made a HUGE MISTAKE in canceling OLTL most of all !!!!!!!!!!! I have sent messages to the big wigs connected to ABC/disney..Guess what no response to my e-mails……..They are sooooo rude………..They know I’m right……….

The “white lab coat” comment is funny. You’re right–why is this OB/GYN wearing this on television? It’s not like she’s going to get her clothes dirty talking to people. She just wants to remind everyone she’s a doctor–and she HAS to: what normal physician would waste their time appearing on television talking about facial scrubs or grooming your feet for sex appeal? She’s an embarrassment to her profession. Some people will do anything to be seen on television, no matter how ridiculous it makes them look–and she’s clueless. I can’t see the promotions for The Revolution without cringing.

I still miss OLTL too. It hurts so much. Yes, ABC will never respond to emails or apologize. Your time is too precious to waste on this heartless, greedy corporation.

ABC is so pathetic…………. They lost a lot of viewers because of the revolution & the chew which should be cancelled also………The revolution should be put on at 2:00 A. M. That’s were it belongs… Right time for it , no one will ever watch it.. viewrs will not watgh it no matter what time it comes on… Cancel it QUICKLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cancel this crap already(The Revolution) !!!!!!!!!!!!!! We don’t like it and will never watch it!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if the revolution would have already been cancelled if the Dr. was not the daughter of Dr. Oz who was the first male to appear on the cover of O magazine and has been on her show. So many coincidental connections, I don’t think ABC/Disney are the only big hurdles to overcome. It is sad when a network says that a show is not worth picking up but can run constant reruns of Cincinnati Police Women, I mean REALLY!!

Iam sooooooooooo pissed off with ABC!!!!!!!!!!! Dr. Oz’s daughter is on The Revolution , the one in the white lab coat … GOOFY!!!! What is ABC giving them slack or showing favortism because Dr. Oz is daughter’s on the revolution…Or because Dr. Oz is also on ABC .. (at 4:00 p. m.) Watched it twice and that was it… Not interested in that type of show!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too much info for me…………..I want to be entertained !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These show”s fail to do that………… It never entered my mind that our beloved soaps would ever be cancelled !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought they would alway’s be on…. I guess I was wrong …….. ABC stinks like skunk!!!!!! That bad !!!!!!!!!! No wonder CBS is #1……………It has shows w/entertainment… Stories.. you want to watch every wk. ABC should take a lesson from CBS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still miss OLTL !!!!!!!! I will alway’s miss it!!!!

None of my friends are soap fans… I have no one to discuss about missing our beloved soaps.. If I bring it up ,they say enough already.. that they are tired of hearing about it!!!!!!! And that they are gone & never coming back & that I should get over it already!!!!!!!!!! They just don’t get it……… What are your feelings about my comment??????? OLTL FAN FOREVER My friends get me angry.. That subject is a taboo……..I would like someone’s feelings on this… You are welcome to REPLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dr oz is on in the morning where I am ,ellen comes on at 4 ,the lab coat comment is funny,I thought dr.oz daughter was on that chew show and the woman in the lab coat (the apple and oranges woman) is married to some older doctor who shows up on the news channels all the time ,and he is way older then her,a subject for another time.any way you are right about any show that abc has replaced the soaps for ,they all stink.I have no soap fan friends either, only in passing ,Ive been crying soap bubbles since abc said they were cancelling my soaps ,and they do understand how upset I am ,they would rather I shut up,so thats why its nice to come here and be where I pretty much get along with everyone ,and we can discuss what I love to do most of all and that is watch my soaps, and complain about the loss of all my children and one life to live.I am so lost at 2 oclock ,still have nothing to do to fill in that hour.I d watch the young and the restless but I would only get to see a half hour ,when our soaps were canceled I started watching dool,so like you IM pissed off to.

The people on The Revolution are sooooooo GOOFY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s soooooooo PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!!! Such nonsense……………….talk about stuff no one will ever be interested in!!!!!! NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will never watch this GARBAGE!!!!!!!! It’s soooooooo STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s a moron show!!!!!!!!!! And looks very boring !!!!! I wish this crap would DISAPPEAR!!!!!!!!!!! The guy w/ the glasses and short gray hair!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OLTL FAN ALWAY”S…I have the cast picture of OLTL………I bought a frame to put it in………..Wonderful picture!!!!!!!!!!! Every soap fan should have one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I knew that Daphne from the Chew was Oz’s daughter. I didn’t kow that Lab Coat was his daughter, too. ABC seems to be the land of Oz these days… And that actually seems to shed some speculative light on why Oprah didn’t want to pick up the soaps… We, the soap fans are disgruntled enough over the fact that these programs are taking the time slots of our beloved shows. Dr. Oz is her doctor and her friend. She would much rather stand in support of him (and it seems his family) than soap fans, soaps and her own OWN network when picking up soap operas that could have brought her some much needed viewership (her channel isn’t doing so well, either.) Could it be she didn’t want to support the competition. She didn’t want to give the built in audience of soap fans anywhere else to go, even if it was her own network, in favor of Dr. Oz’s daughters?

I don’t like Dr. OZ’S show… He says buy this eat that!!!! Don’t eat that or this will happen… You might as well stop eating …………… Watched his show the other day…About checking your tongue to see if it is yellow, that means you have acid reflex………..Ck. your elbows to see if you had red bumpie rash….You never want to look at your body again…He makes you even more paranoid………..I don’t think his show will last……..Too much info for me…And I don’t find it entertaining……….As far as Oprah goes it was her deceision not picking up the soaps…Even if I don’t agree on the reasons she gave.. I thought they were BOGUS..I guess she doesn’t need anymore money … Well enough about that..I guess Oprah & Dr. Oz are good friends… Replying to comment on 3/6 at 1:16 pm…………

ABc continues to keep The Chew and The Revolution on daytime….Can’t stand these two shows…. They should be cancelled right away… Abc keeps putting commericals on for them when you are watching GH everyday.. ABC never put a lot of commericals for AMC & OLTL when they were on….But this garbage cooking show & info show their commericals are on every time the soaps went to a commerical….I resistant that………Forcing to watch something you will never ever watch…

I don’t have a problem with The Revolution. It just happens to be the show that has replaced One Life to Live. If it wasn’t The Revolution, it would have been another show.

My big problem is with ABC (aka the Always Be Cancelling network). They refuse to promote their soaps while CBS and NBC are still doing it (even during the evening in the case of NBC). During the Go Red event a few days ago, ABC Daytime promoted all of its daytime shows except of course General Hospital. ABC seems to forget that this is the show that brought it 30 million viewers in one single day back in 1981. This is the show that has dominated daytime landscape during the late 70s and much of the 80s. Anne Sweeney makes me sick.

Remember when ABC said in June 2011 that they would program their 2012 daytime fall schedule with their strongest shows. Of course, when they said that , they probably already had in mind that General Hospital would be the show to go. But with ratings like this, ABC is in deep shit now because they now have to consider the serious possibility that The Revolution, not General Hospital, may be the show that would have to make room for the affiliates and Katie’s syndicated show. I don’t know what the ratings are from last week for General Hospital . But let’s says it’s 2,4 millions which is what GH typically get. That makes it 1 million viewers more than The Revolution. Even if less is excepted from talk shows in their ratings than soap operas, a one million difference in viewership is just way too significant for ABC to choose The Revolution over General Hospital.

I hope that ABC’s advertizes are paying attention to this as way we do.

You don’t have a problem with The Revolution? It’s offensively stupid trash. Even if it hadn’t replaced OLTL, it wouldn’t be worth watching.

Oh you are so right! I just cringe when I see the promos for this awful show. The same with the Chew. The people on these shows should be embarrassed! Have they ever watched themselves on these shows? Lord.

GH ratings are down to 1.6

heather, you have to admit what david said is funny.I was going to say something along the same lines but he beat me to it,i was going to call it garbage.and it would help if we could get a hold of a list for the advertisers, without having to watch ,because I cant sit through stuff like that to find out.we have to do something to bring the ratings up on general hospital they are low this week ,again.and I know its being watched and us one life to live fans cant wait for blair ,todd and starr to show up in port charles.

I blocked ABC on my satellite box…so for me ABC ceased to exist on January 13th.

I tell you, if this doesn’t get the message across, nothing will and it looks like nothing will. What do they want with another Talk Show? Even if it makes it over a year, it will crash and burn as do most others. The Viewers continue to let the Execs know What WE Want To Watch— does it have to come to the first huge announcement this century appelling us to please tune in before Disney cancels the alphabet Network or are they finally going to get humble and do the right thing? I guess as I have already said, it looks like nothing will get these people smart— guess they have to crash and burn like their new direction in programming. Thanks again for the article… have a great weekend, MF!

This comes as no surprise to the 2M+ who watched OLTL & AMC and supported ABC and their sponsors for the past for decades. Boycott the station and those who sponsor them. Maybe we can save General Hospital and the Daytime Drama genre, in general. Good for jobs, good for the economy. Meant in jest, mostly.

Meant in jest about the previous sentence, only.

Well shoot,,,,,,I hate to hear that. Not! Karma is biting ABC in the tush. I do wish Frons was still on board right now just to watch his reactions/reasoning.

i read that the revolution is offering $30 per person to be in their studio audience – can we say desperate???

Now that’s sad….they have to pay people to be in their audience. If ABC really wanted to make this right, and make a smart business decision…they would admit they were wrong, bring back OLTL and get rid of The Revolution. Put stupid Katie on during Oprah’s old time slot. Don’t they realize, soap fans are what made Oprah Winfrey who she is today. Millions of people would watch ABC soaps and then keep the channel on ABC when Oprah came on… it makes sense to put Katie in that time slot, if they want to try and build a strong lineup. But as long as they play this act of thinking they know what’s best, and try to force programming, that obviously no one wants down our throats, they are going to have problems. If they don’t even try to make this right, it makes no sense to even bring the new Katie show on, because people will continue to boycott.

Torrey let me tell that Oprah was not on ABC here in Sacramento but when it still was on it was on the local NBC Channel.

Pretty pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CANCEL IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is one of the best things I’ve heard today. Plus to see the Chew sinking as well is just more music to my ears. As a loyal fan of AMC and OLTL it’s sad that ABC choose profit…oh wait, they are losing millions with these pathic shows…over viewer loyalty and true entertainment. Hopefully they will swallow their pride and right the wrong they did to their former daytime audience.!

Totally agree with you Robert.

I knew it would happen !!!!!!!!!!!!! Soap fans don’t watch this garbage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring OLTL back!!!!!!!!!! Whatever channel.. I will watch it !!!!!!!!!!

Well no surprise here. ABC should not have bitten the hand that fed you. We protested the loss of our soaps. Made our voices be heard. Also, we told them we would not watch their network during the day, especially any replacement shows after the soaps were gone. Obviously they did not believe us. Well do they believe us now? Will they bring back OLTL? I doubt it. I would love to know has anyhing like this ever happened in the past? Where they put a show back on the air? What I don’t understand is why no one else has bought the rights. Apparently the ratings that OLTL had weren’t so bad after all! Well all I can say is abc you got what you deserved.

Just like in the soaps there is always the redemption/error of my ways story. We can forgive (maybe not forget) if ABC brings back AMC and OLTL. I could even handle if the cut costs by making them 1/2 hour each. I can’t believe yet another weight show possibly in the middle of the day. And we still have to “look forward” to Katie. Cripes!!! Like thousands of others, I don’ watch ABC anymore except for GH. I can catch “Castle” on reruns on cable. It’s like going to a store or restaurant…if they treat me badly, I find another place to go.

I just wish The Chew’s ratings were equally as bad. The fact that 2 + million are tuning into that show gives ABC a measure of satisfaction they do not deserve. It would thrill me to no end to see the ratings for the Revolution dip below 1 million!!! That would be great!!!! Hello…..sponsors??? Are you paying attention? Cause we’re not!!! We want OLTL BACK!!!!

ABCs daytime sucks except for GH.Maybe they could combinde all the soap worlds together (AMC,OLTL & GH). I boycott ABC except for GH and some nitetime shows. Stop jamming the chew and the revelution down our throats.I don’t even watch the news anymore because the annoying cast members of these shows keep popping up.What’s up with the orange crocks anyway?
Mark my words “This will go down as One of the biggest ****ups in television network history”. Who ever came up with the brainfart of taking the soaps off to add another food/talk/make over weight loss show should be FIRED!
Get the writters and actors back and bring the soaps back to life just like all the characters in these soaps have done over the years. When someone died you always had it in the back of your mind that they would somehow survive and come back when the story needed them. That is the great thing about soaps…..anything is possible!

“Anything is possible” now isn’t that the truth in soapland– how many times has a charactor been killed off and returns from the dead LOL — that is the one thing you can count on with the soaps –you never know what is going to happen. Dr. Hayward on AMC was bring people back from the dead for years LOL — What about the DNA lab at the Llandview Hospital? It looks like after all of these years of baby switching and trying to prove who the babys daddy is the fine people of Llanview would use three or four out of state DNA labs. Of course you couldn’t use the DNA lab in Pinevalley or Port Charles either LOL —

On one hand, I think it’s funny and on the other I think it is tragic how so many people lost their jobs for THIS.

Yeah, I have something to say. The ABC daytime programming dept sucks!!!!! The fools just do not listen to the fans!!! This is not what we want!! We want our soaps!!! Not just OLTL, but AMC and GH!! They tried to fix something that was not broken. We have a responsibility too, to not be fair-weathered fans. We should voice our concerns to the execs of the shows about the things we do not like, but if we give up and stop watching, the ratings drop.and cancellation is not too far behind.

Wow, ABC /Disney just put our soaps back on and viewers will return ( we can forgive) missing them sooo.. much . I am a working woman who has no interts in watching this kind of programs -I think the ratings show that (maybe 1-2 week in the evings i might watch. boycotting ABC & Disney now. cancled movie club & family fun magazine also only watch GH & castle .

Why won’t they put the soaps back on the air? It seems like big time baby stubbornness. No one is going to watch anything they put on the air at this point. We are a huge group and we will not watch ABC ever again until our soaps are back on the air.

The soap fans have spoken but ABC did not listen . I record GH and still watch three prime time shows. That is a far cry from what I use to watch on ABC. I use to turn the TV on ABC as soon as I got up and didn’t change the channel until Jay Leno came on — that is not the case now. I will not watch any of the new show on prime time — the morning and afternoon line up is more like Good Morning America Exetended — to many talk shows !!!! I don’t cook the things the TV cooks prepare on their shows. I hate watching a fashtion expert tell me the outfit the model is wearing cost ONLY 300.00 —The day I spent ONLY three hundred dollars on an outfit means one thing — three weeks we would not eat !! geee give us a break ABC and bring back the daytime dramas

I don’t know what ABC was hoping to accomplish with all these reality shows and talk shows on ALL DAY long! They get really old after awhile since there is no storyline to keep you coming back each day. I have Not nor will I Ever watch Any of these shows on ABC! I turn ABC on Only for General Hospital now and I hope the revolution continues to Fail!!! I can’t believe the chew is doing well either! Missing my OLTL terribly and the void I feel without it Cannot and Will Not be filled with those 2 AWFUL shows!!, OLTL FOREVER!!!!

I like to play Kristen Alderson’s song and I try so hard not to get upset but it does every time. I wish that they would combine OLTL and GH. I really think that ABC has no money to spend on quality anything. Wait till poor Natalie Portman’s new show Scruples comes on the air. I will always be a AMC and OLTL fan forever. I hope that Ron and Frank are listening to what we want.

ABC execs had better admit they made a mistake or the network may be going.
I don’t think anybody really watches the Chew either. Chew ratings will become
and more evident come sweeps time. Who will want to advertise on ABC with their
awful ratings! Seems to me the big wigs put all their eggs in one basket!

this is such wonderful news ,Im not surprised by it ,but lets enjoy bad abc didnt listen to its audience when we tried in every way we could to let them know we wont watch this garbage, petitions ,e mails ,letters ,phone calls ,not watching abc unless its general hospital ,only thing after all of this ,that I can say is abc doesnt listen to there ,use to be fan base, and we are not going to change our views or change our channels till the soap problem is fixed.I miss all my children and one life to live so much ,Im running out of words to express how I feel ,my afternoons were the abc soaps ,because of that my evenings were also abc,Its been so hard giving up a network that use to entertain me with good shows, and now I cant stand to hear there ads telling us what to watch even there prime time has gone downhill its like watching one long infomercial, and Im not wired to watch any of it,so as abc continues to ignore the soap fans ,Im going to continue to ignore abc, your programming is cheep and boring ,and I will never watch anything you have to offer,my advice to abc, fire everyone ,hire all new people ,and start listening to what your audience has to say.

Barbara t: Go to KaShi, at the TOP of this page, the 1st post and leave her the telephones number U have so that she can call up This is what she is saying>” I‘d like to hear what Michael things we can do to help save GH and hopefully get One Life back on the air somehow in some way. ”

Leave her the telephones number’s you have.

Hey Barb: So sad about our beloved Whitney. Scott is back. He was the 1st to leave a comment on the page about Whitney Houston. I been watching CNN all night on and off.

good ,scott is back, saw his post , sad about whitney houston I ve been watching cnn to ,still have it on,really hard to find the words to say ,she has a beautiful voice, will never be another one like her.there isnt a song that she sang that I didnt like ,have a couple of her cds.

Revolution is sinking quicker than the Titanic and soap fan will continue to BOYCOTT ABC this will not stop, wait till the OSCARS and see that soap fans will not watch, what part of WILL NOT WATCH ABC ANYMORE don’t you understand??????

I think the only people tuning in to The Revolution are the family and friends of the audience members that are getting paid $30 to be there. I can’t believe we lost OLTL for this. What boggles my mind even more is how ABC and Disney seem to be oblivious to the anger of the fans. It has been 10 months since the cancellation announcements and the fan outrage continues to grow. No company in their right mind would want this kind of bad PR.

I read that Disney believes ABC viewers left when Ms. O left. I don’t believe that to be the case. I believe ABC started loosing viewers after they cancelled AMC and OLTL. The AMC fans have not been as vocal in the past as the OLTL fans . Why? Because everyone was lead to believe the day time dramas would be returning in January 2012 (of course that didn’t happen) Now AMC and OLTL fans have ban together. I know ABC/D would love for us fans to shut up and go away—-Well, we will not shut up but we have gone away ( to other networks). I think CBS and NBC should send thank you cards to ABC for sending them so many new views — KARMA don’t ya just love it!

If ABC thinks viewers left when Oprah stopped her show they are really stupid because Oprah was syndicated and wasn’t even on the ABC in my area. It was on CBS here.

In my town too, CBS-4-5 p.m. Central time.

In my town i think it was at 4pm on channel 3 which is an NBC Station.By the way i live in Sacramento CA.It was also on another station at 11pm.

I was visiting my neighbor the other day and our local news unfortunately is the ABC network. We were sitting at the kitchen and she had the local news on. At one she excused herself and went into the living room and flipped the channel to CBS. I don’t think as many people are watching the Chew either. They keep saying they are but that’s right when the ratings come out for February sweeps I don’t think either one of those shows from 1-3 on ABC will be on the list and if they are they will be at the bottom. They defiantly make a VERY BIG MISTAKE!!!!

Gee, I love this part —“
Can you imagine? They cancelled One Life for ratings like these?

The answer is NO , I can not imagine —- LOL

Well now ABC, you can’t say you weren’t warned…..Now, if ABC/Disney has even just ONE smart person in charge over there….they would announce that they made a big mistake and get rid of those responsible (I know Fronz is already gone)….but bring in somebody new and have them announce that they will be righting the ship and bringing the Soaps back! Otherwise….mark my words things will continue to get worse at your awful network..

I hope that they go down the tubes, because they should of never taken our soaps off. I’ve never been so darn upset over this as I am now!!!!!!!!! It sucks. That Fronz made a big mess of things and hear he’s not even around and leaves. Why he did this to us I don’t know?!!!!!!!!!!! I miss all those fine actors on all my children and OLTL . They were part of my family everynite, but now their is nothing to look forward to anymore.

TALK TALK TALK – let it STOP! ! ! I don’t watch and will never watch the CHEW – I watch Young and Restless and Bold and Beautiful on CBS now. I watch Judge Alex at 2 and go to ABC for General Hospital at 3. I WILL NEVER WATCH Revolution – enough with the talk shows. Count how many talk shows are on all the channels during the day – ridiculous! ! ! Yet ABC is planning another talk show with Katie. If you must – move GH to 2 and maybe I will give Katie’s show a try but if you cancel GH ABC will lose me forever. I am a 70 year old grandmother soon to be a great grandmother and a long time fan of soaps. I am so disappointed with ABC. Too bad they won’t listen to those who watch TV and decide amongst themselves what we like. How out of touch are you!!!!!!

You don’t even see commercials for it during Y&R on soapnet. It’s not even mentioned when ABC advertises daytime. Looks like a spot for GH is open after-all.

I hope the Revolution continues to sink… even lower !

I think that probably Revolution will be the one to get canceled for Katie not GH! If they improve writing etc!

Well, I thought this would happen. You can’t cancel long running iconic shows like All My Children and One Life to Live and expect viewers to just accept it and watch their replacements. What’s the point? If you’re a soap viewer, you’re a soap viewer, and you want to watch stories, not reality television. Personally, I’ll only watch scripted television during my lunch break, and ABC disappointed me greatly with the cancellations. If there’s not a soap on for my lunch break, I’ll just read whatever book I’m reading at the time. People like stories. Let’s hope the network sees the light and keeps General Hospital.

HA HA HA, we told you so…too bad you had to have sooo many people lose their jobs over your idiotic decisions…if $$ are the bottom line.. poor ratings insure less $$…HA HA HA…ABC…may U gotcha…one PO ‘d soap fan..

Im not giving up ! We want our soaps back!!! ABC is horrible!

I know they will never bring back the soaps they cancelled but If ABC is smart, they will give GH, the Revolution’s time slot instead of replacing it with another reality show. Maybe then, Katie’s show won’t face severe backlash when it airs which it defintely will if GH gets cancelled and more importantly, there will be at least one show for viewers who are not into reality shows to watch on ABC daytime.

ABC/D needs to know if they bring the soaps back we will forgive them for canceling our shows. If not, we will continue to boycott them off the air

ha ! ha! HA! karma bites doesnt it ABC I will never watch the 2 stupid shows they replaced my soaps with soaps that my great grandmother watched, my grandmother and mother watched and now i can no longer watch. I wish the other stations would pick AMC and OLTL they would have the loyalty of every fan they would be our hero i have enough people in my life telling me what to do i dont need another help show telling me what to eat, wear and behave bring our soaps home

Well, I imagine ABC is feeling pretty damned stupid about right now–at least, they should.

I’m not sure the Revultion was meant to be on air past September… they only ordered 200 shows which is roughly 9 months, started in January, so maybe it will be gone by the time Katie Yucky comes on.
As far as available time slots for General Hospital, I think earlier in the day would be better — either way, my local ABC station has a lot of hours available for it. They’ve got news 4:30am-7. Then GMA 7-9, a local program 9-10, The View 10-11, another local program 11-12, The Spew 12-1, The Revultion 1-2, General Hospital 2-3, Local show 3-3:30, Access hollywood 3:30-4, local news 4-4:30, Jeopardy 4:30-5, then local and ABC news til 6:30…

they really don’t have anything good on by the looks of that daily schedule (besides GH).

I’ll watch GH when OLTL stars come over and when the good old GH stars come back. Other than that I only watch Castle if it’s a new show. Nothing else on ABC. DisneyWorld trip cancelled too!

Wish I knew what advertisers are advertising all the hours of the day on ABC, so I knew exactly what not to buy! Guess I’ll have to buy store brand or plain label!

Oh come on people! The Revolution isn’t THAT bad. Ha! Ha! Sitting here watching GH and saw a preview for Monday’s show … Tim styles a DOG!

What a joke that show is.

poor dog.wonder if they gave the dog 30 dollars worth of doggie treats just to show up.jenna I love the sound of your smallest violin,,hey mickey mouse ,can you hear us now?

A dog? Do you mean an ugly woman or a real canine dog? They are so desperate for viewers they are hoping to attract dogs as viewers by making over dogs? Or, are they so desperate for people to makeover that they have resorted to styling dogs because women refuse to humiliate themselves by appearing on the show?

I only wish I were joking. No. The preview showed Tim walking onstage with a cute little dog dressed in some sort of parka or winter coat. Poor dog. Tim and its owner should be ashamed. But that is ABC, they have no shame anymore.

I’m sorry I saw that preview. I am trying hard to erase if from my mind, but no such luck. Ha! Ha!

I saw it to for a split second ,it had to be during general hospital, abc loves rubbing it in,why ,thats any ones guess, the truth is no one other then an idiot will watch ,and truly say they enjoy this crappy show ,those poor dogs.and I am a critter lover ,still wont watch.I have 2 yorkies and they wont put up with clothes on them ,hell I cant even get my female to wear a bow.and I will admit ,because I am a big dog person ,I bought several little outfits for them and they still have all the tags on.dont laugh.

That sound you hear is me playing the world’s smallest violin for The Revolution’s sad ratings.

And this sound is me laughing my butt off. Long live the ABC boycott until they restore our soaps!

Revolution, your ratings are MUSIC TO MY EARS! Big BOOBOO Mouse Network….

I hate to admit it but ABC/D is not going to put OLTL and AMC back on the air. So TPTB should admit their mistake and give the rights back to Agnes so she can continue our beloved stories on another network or cable channel. GH should be left alone. We soap fans do not want to watch a washed-up newswoman Oprah wannabe. Wise up ABC!

The only thing I watch on abc and continue to watch is GH. I will never tune into The Chew or Revolution. These are the worst two shows. Hope their ratings drop big time during sweeps. ABC should have listened! Who wants to watch reality tv. I will always stay true to my soaps.

ABC/DISNEY admit what everyone knows…..YOU MADE A MISTAKE !!!!!!! WE ARE NOT WATCHING YOUR REALITY TV GARBAGE !!!! WE WANT WELL WRITTEN SCRIPTED TV !!! One Life To Live and All My Children were on 40 plus years for a reason ….THEY WERE GOOD. BRING OLTL AND AMC BACK OR GIVE AGNES NIXON THE RIGHTS TO HER SHOWS !!!! Pretty soon ABC/DISNEY will have to LOOK UP TO SEE THE GUTTER !!!

I have watched” the Talk

I have watched “The Talk” and Rachel Ray.
They are the best of the talk shows currently on the air. Cannot abide “The View” Most of us call it :the Spew”. Runs by blood pressure up with all the talking over one another. Spending a lot of time on my puter and reading since the soaps were cancelled. I don’t think ABC/Disney cares. Soaps have wide appeal and they only want their kind of viewer. Really sad..

ABC needs a reality check, Katie is a has been. She lost her luster many years ago. Nice lady but her time has passed.

Agnes Nixon should just get the cast of AMC together and get the cast of OLTL together….and start over from scratch, approach another network or cable station, and give us our shows back. Instead of calling it All My Children, it could be….Pine Valley or….The Valley. And OLTL could be called LLanview, P.A. or just LLanview. I’m sure most, if not all of the cast would come back from both shows. I don’t know how it works with ABC owning the rights to the shows…if that means the characters names and everything associated with AMC or OLTL is owned by ABC…but I’m sure the fans wouldn’t mind a few character name changes, as long as we were able to see our favorites on screen again. Since ABC won’t give the rights back to Agnes and won’t admit that they were wrong and return the shows back to the network….Agnes should get together with some other network and make it happen. She has the proven success of both shows, so surely someone would take her seriously. What does everyone else think? A show called Pine Valley and a show called LLanview….does that sound like a good idea?

LOVE IT ! —Absolutely LOVE reading of this embarrassing daytime TV meltdown.
And may the ratings get even WORSE for Chew and Revolution.

Let the great boycott continue!

Of course, ABC won’t EVER concede or admit how foolish their decisions have been.
They’ll keep these two loser replacement shows around for quite awhile for pure spite and of course be “tweaking them” along the way. — I don’t care WHAT they do with them at this point.

You know, I’ve been watching more of B&B on CBS (only a 30 minute show) and was just thinking: for many, many years, our daytime soaps WERE only 30 mins each afternoon and the fans stayed happy and content for years and years. 30 minutes of our beloved soaps would be far better than having nothing on at all (like is the case now).

Too bad no consideration, SERIOUS consideration, was never given to returning to this half-hour format before totally axing classic soaps like GL, ATWT, AMC, and our latest beloved OLTL ! I mean, if it boiled down to SAVING our soaps, wouldn’t we be willing to accept a shorter format everyday? I certainly would have!

I guess the nets’ reply would still be……”it’s STILL a matter of too much money to produce a soap.”

One thing about it….if the network daytime period fails sufficiently, their affiliates are losing viewers too, and that doesn’t bode well for local programming FOLLOWING the network hours! Local stations may just be joining in (soon) with our protesting. After all, precious local Nielson ratings are going to be in a “slump” too!

@Ted, I would certainly support a half hour format. A good friend of mine watches only B & B during the day. She told me she likes it because it fits perfect with her schedule and she doesn’t have to invest a lot of time. Oh and you can bet the local affiliates are paying attention. How could they not? I know I just viewed my affiliate’s home page and while several daytime shows are being promoted, replacement #2 is not. The dye was cast on Friday the 13th when they posted the FB question “are you excited for Monday’s debut of the ______?”. OMG, you should’ve seen the responses. All except one or two blasting the cancellation of OLTL, and people saying NO we want our OLTL!! You bet theyre paying attention.

Cameron Mathison Previews New Game Show ‘Beat The Bridge’ (Promo)

As previously reported, Cameron Mathison (Drew, General Hospital) will be seen doing double duty this summer when he premieres in June as the host of Game Show Network’s Beat The Bridge.

Now, while Cameron will be the host with the most, that doesn’t mean he will stop playing GH’s Drew.  In fact, Mathison taped the game show in 2023, so it will now air for the first time in 2024.

Taking to his Instagram this week, Cameron shared his enthusiasm and some new hosting snaps, sharing, “Our newest game show host reporting for duty😎 Head over to the Game Show Network YouTube channel for your first look at the show and don’t miss Beat The Bridge premiering this June! I can’t wait for you guys to see this!”

In Beat The Bridge, an enormous interactive bridge dares players to cross by stepping on the right answers to challenging trivia questions. As they play, each steps forward and puts money in their team’s bank, with bonus money for each successful crossing. Here’s the catch: the team gets to keep the money only if it can “beat the bridge” by returning one of its players back across before time expires.

Meanwhile, on GH, Drew and Nina (Cynthia Watros) recently had hate-sex. Do you think its a one-time deal? Where will Drew’s story take him next under new head writers, Patrick Mulcahey and Elizabeth Korte? Stay tuned.

Now below, check out the first promo for Beat The Bridge from the Game Show Network with you host, Cameron Mathison.  Then, let us know, will you be checking out the game this summer? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

Breaking News

Kim Kardashian, Emma Roberts and Marlene King Land ‘Calabasas’, a Soap in the Vein of the ‘O.C’ and ‘Beverly Hills 90210’, at Netflix

There has been lot of soapy projects coming to life and in the works of late, and now comes word that Kim Kardashian is executive producing a new series in development for Netflix called Calabasas.

After a bidding war last week, it looks like Netflix cemented the development deal from Kim, and her producing partners American Horror Story co-star Emma Roberts (pictured below) and Pretty Little Liars creators Marlene King and Alexandra Milchan.

The concept of Calabasas is based on the book If You Lived Here You’d Be Famous By Now by Via Bleidner.  King set to write the adaptation and will serve as the series showrunner.

According to Deadline, Calabasas is said to be in the vein of primetime young teen and young adult soaps the O.C. and Beverly Hills 90210. The story follows “Via, a 16-year-old sheltered Midwestern Catholic school girl whose world is turned upside down when her family moves and she’s forced to transfer to the fast world of Calabasas High where nothing is as it appears and where everyone is trying to be someone else. It’s a place where dreams come true … but not without complications and sometimes unforeseen consequences.”

As fans of the Kardashians know, Kim and her family made the town of Calabasas a household and worldwide name. Kim being attached to this project helped make its sale. This marks her fourth project to sell since the writers and actors strikes concluded at the end of last summer.

Ellen Travolta Makes Another Return to General Hospital

If General Hospital’s Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) nuptials are on, you didn’t think Grandma Gloria Cerullo would miss out on the festivities, now did you?

Casting news from Soap Opera Digest reveals that Ellen Travolta is back taping scenes that will air the week of May 13th on the ABC daytime drama series.  When viewers learned that Carmine Cerullo, was also on his way back to Port Charles, now in the face and body of actor George Russo, it only made sense that Grandma Gloria would join Grandpa Cerullo. Look for them both mid-May.

As most people know, Ellen is the older sister to John Travolta. She first make appearances as Gloria back on GH in the mid-90s. Most recently, she returned to the Quartermaine mansion to meet up with daughter, Lois (Rena Sofer) and granddaughter Brook Lynn for Thanksgiving in Port Charles in 2023.  Michael Fairman TV interviewed Rena Sofer and Amanda Setton late last year where they shared what it had been liking working with Ellen, who remains very close to Sofer in real-life.

Photo: JPI

Amanda shared: “We fell in love immediately. What’s crazy is my maternal grandmother was Grandma Gloria. I had her till I was 30 and we were so close. She was really like a second mom to me. So, when I got this script and I’m reading “Grandma Gloria”, it was so bizarre. And then in meeting Ellen, she looks like my grandma – same haircut, same high cheekbones. It really did feel like I had a few days with my grandma. It was very, very special for me. Ellen is sweet, prepared, professional, talented and funny to boot. So, it was one of the best weeks I’ve had at work. I hope she comes back. My fingers are crossed.”

Now, we can’t imagine Brook Lynn and Chase’s wedding day to be smooth sailing, in fact, expect just the opposite, but could it be Grandma Gloria who is ultimately the hero or the calming voice of reason for any pre-wedding jitters? Stay tuned.

So, glad to know that Ellen Travolta will be back for Brook Lynn and Chase’s big day? Comment below.
