The actress who played Erica Kane for all she is worth and then some, Susan Lucci, has certainly been very busy since the cancellation of All My Children, with Army Wives, hosting a new reality/dramatic show, and now appearing in none other than Gloria Estefan’s new music video for her dance hit sensation, Hotel Nacional!
In this quirky video, La Lucci, who is mentioned in the lyrics of Hotel Nacional is seen strutting her stuff and cavorting with a bunch of handsome sailors! Estefan’s lyrics to the tune include a nod to the soap icon, which is why having Susan was such a natural fit, “White pearls, teased up hair … Lipstick’s red to make ’em stare … Drama’s on like Susan Lucci … It’s time for Hoochie Coochie.”

‘All My Children’ Movie Writers for Lifetime Revealed: Ron Carlivati, Jamey Giddens and Leo Richardson
This week began and as reported with a spotlight article on Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos and how their production entity, Milojo, has been teeing up the All My Children reboot with Lifetime.
The L.A. Times featured the married couple, co-hosts of Live with Kelly and Mark, and former All My Children cast members (where they met and fell in love) about their plans to bring two All My Children movies to Lifetime and how they are working with the Agnes Nixon estate to make it come to fruition,
On Wednesday, it was revealed by Daytime Confidential, that All My Children reboot producer, Andrew Stearn handpicked none other than Ron Carlivati (ex-head writer, One Life to Live, General Hospital and Days of our Lives) and Jamey Giddens (who is the new co-head writer of The Young and the Restless, following his tenures on the writing teams of Beyond the Gates and Days of Our Lives), as the two scribes who will bring the first of two of Kelly and Mark’s All My Children movies to the page.

RON CARLIVATI AND JAMEY GIDDENS CONFIRM THEIR BOARDING THE ALL MY CHILDREN MOVIE PROJECT
The second installment is said to be written by primetime writer Leo Richardson whose credits include: Star, Katy Keene and more recently the Penn Badgley (ex-Phillip Chancellor IV, The Young and the Restless) starring series, You.
Richardson also wrote for three years on the U.K.’s long-running soap, EastEnders. All My Children revival fans will recall Richardson’s name was attached as the writer for the first incarnation of the All My Children movies, entitled, Pine Valley.
Ron Carlivati took to X and confirmed he is indeed boarding the All My Children movie project. Carlivati shared, “So excited to share this news! Thanks to Andrew Stearn, Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, Albert Bianchini and the Agnes Nixon estate for entrusting Jamey Giddens and me with the first of two planned All My Children movies for Lifetime! Stay tuned!”

Jamey Giddens confirmed DC’s announcement by taking to his account on X and expressing, “I’ve been booked and busy in 2026. Thanks to Andrew Stearn, the Agnes Nixon estate, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos for entrusting Ron Carlivati, and me with the first of two planned All My Children movies for Lifetime!”
Some fans seemed to question how Giddens could be writing for the first All My Children movie at Lifetime, when he is the new co-head writer at The Young and the Restless with Dan O’Connor. Jamey answered that head on via X and explained, “We turned in our All My Children script months ago. My sole focus as of this past Monday, is Genoa City, Wisconsin! #YR”
ERICA KANE, MARIA SANTOS AND HAYLEY AND MATEO SANTOS TO APPEAR IN THE ALL MY CHILDREN MOVIE REVIVAL?
In the planned stories, Susan Lucci’s Erica Kane and Eva LaRue’s Maria Santos will be two characters whose lives we will get to see for the first time since the series was canceled by ABC back in 2011 after 41 years on the air. As well, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos confirmed they will make brief appearances on-screen; one could assume as Hayley and Mateo Santos.
“It’d be wonderful to give the fans something that they’ve been yearning for so many years,” shared Mark Consuelos to the LA Times. “All My Children gave me my family. I met my wife there. It gave me my start in the business. It gave us so much. It would be a dream to be able to give back.”

‘All My Children’ Revival Updates: Lifetime EVP Speaks on Why Proposed Movies are Great Fit, Mark Consuelos Wants To ‘Give Back’ to Fans
The All My Children revival via movies at Lifetime is still in the works from former series stars and marrieds, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, through their production company, Milojo.
The co-hosts of Live with Kelly and Mark were featured this week in a Los Angeles Times article which detailed their efforts to bring some of the citizens of Pine Valley back to your screens.
As previously reported, and reaffirmed by the L.A. Times, the All My Children movies will be set in the present day and focus on what beloved characters such as Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) and Maria Santos Gray (Eva LaRue) are doing now. In addition, Kelly Ripa confirmed that she and Mark Consuelos will also appear on screen briefly most likely appearing in their signature soap roles as Hayley and Mateo Santos.

ALL MY CHILDREN MOVIES BRING NOSTALGIA THAT CAN BE MADE TO FEEL NEW AGAIN
Elaine Frontain Bryant, executive vice president and head of programming for A&E, Lifetime, and Lifetime Movie Network said of the All My Children reboot, “Lifetime is always interested in shows that kind of tap into a powerful nostalgia that can be made fresh for today’s audience. There’s a whole generation of women that have missed these stories and these characters.”
As for working with Kelly and Mark on the Lifetime movie versions of the soap, “They’re exactly the kind of partners you want at a brand,” expressed Bryant. “They’re trusted voices because every day they’re talking to their audience, which, a lot of times, is our audience. They bring a real credibility and have an authentic point of view. You meet Kelly and Mark and kind of what you see is what you get, and I think they bring that same authenticity to their development standards.”
Albert Bianchini, executive producer for Milojo, says he knows All My Children is so wildly popular with the fans of daytime. That was punctuated when seeing it in person, and how the energy was off the charts back in January of 2025 when Kelly participated along with Susan Lucci, former head writer, Lorraine Broderick and casting director, Judy Blye Wilson in a conversation with Andy Cohen at the 92nd Street Y in New York City.

“I’ve never seen a crowd like that in my life. People were lined up around the block, recalled the Bianchini. “Everyone wanted to know, ‘When is (All My Children) coming back? We want more.’ We got to see that in real life and Kelly got to feel it in real life, and it made so much sense. I just know that the minute it gets out in the world, people will want more and more and more. There’s just a love there.”
Kelly Ripa added that they are, “working closely with Bob and Sarah Nixon, who are also serving as producers.” She recalled, “She (Agnes Nixon) was so far ahead of her time. She covered topics that weren’t being covered. It was extraordinary the audiences that the show drew, and she served them real stories that were affecting Americans across the country but weren’t necessarily being represented anywhere.”
“It’d be wonderful to give the fans something that they’ve been yearning for so many years,” shared Mark Consuelos. “All My Children gave me my family. I met my wife there. It gave me my start in the business. It gave us so much. It would be a dream to be able to give back.”
THE CANCELLATION AND STOPS AND STARTS OF ALL MY CHILDREN REBOOTS
All My Children aired on ABC from 1970 to 2011. It got a second chance at life when Prospect Park resurrected the show and brought it to The OnLine Network and Hulu for one season in 2013.
Recently, the series made a return through the estate of Agnes Nixon and is streaming internationally on BEONDTV and through their partnership with PlutoTV Canada with episodes starting in 1995. Fans hope original episodes will some day soon be available in the U.S. as well, but that could prove more difficult since ABC owns the rights to the episodes stateside.
Now 13 years later, while there is no word yet on a definitive production start date to the two movies at Lifetime, all the people involved seemed determined to make it come to life.

Starting on May 1, All My Children fans in Canada will be able to see classic episodes of the beloved former ABC soap opera when they stream on Pluto TV Canada.
Pluto TV picked-up the All My Children Channel that the Nixon family has created in partnership with BEONDTV +. The show which aired for 41 years on ABC and ended on the network in 2011, had so many memorable storylines and characters; the least of which is the enduring run of Erica Kane played by soap icon, Susan Lucci.
As previously reported, starting with episodes from the year 1995, which was the 25th anniversary of the soap. Pluto TV Canada viewers will be able to catch 8 episodes on repeat per day. With the success of the venture, the Nixons are hopeful that they will bring viewers many more years of the show to come.

In addition, 0ne week ago, during Susan Lucci’s visit to Los Angeles promoting her book La Lucci, she was joined by her former Pine Valley castmates, Rebecca Budig (ex-Greenlee, AMC, now Taylor, B&B) and Eva LaRue (ex-Maria, AMC) and the trio posed for a pic. At that time, LaRue shared via Instagram, “NEW All My Children channel streaming classic episodes 24/7 now on Pluto TV Canada! Fingers crossed to watch soon on Pluto US.”
That was also confirmed this week by TV Watercooler’s Jeevan Brar who took to X and expressed, “The All My Children channel begins streaming this Friday, May 1 on Pluto TV Canada.

Susan Lucci, has been very busy with
1. Army Wives,
2. hosting a new reality/dramatic show,
3. appearing in none other than Gloria Estefan’s new music video.
And Michael, don’t forget number 4: ” Hot in Cleveland”.
Seems Susan is having a 2nd chapter or even 3rd after AMC, but Susan knew she would. She was in no rush to start studying scripts again, especially if they weren’t associated with Agnes Nixon and the forum she was use to. Susan knew she would thrive; we all did. I want Ereka Slezak to showcase her talents in Primetime and win that Primetime Emmy, or do a strong movie role, like a Meryl Streep type of role and show and say to Hollywood ” How you like me now, ” this is what a soap character can do, and then WIN the Oscar! Fluff is fun and we enjoy it, but we love to see our character’s sink their teeth in a juicy role, even if its a comedy.
Yes, Susan is great at promoting herself just like Erica Kane, which is why I prefer the class and dignity of Erika Slezak. Why can’t we see her instead? Please.

I see you saw where I was coming from. If Susan is on anything, I go out my way to look at it, BC I have been a Susan fan forever. But, as I have gotten older it seems Susan and Erica Kane are one in the same, the arguement I have fought with people about for year’s in her defense. I simply can’t tell them apart : ( And then, all of those ‘ ‘Thank You’s ‘ after everything someone says to her, is just too much/over abundance/ and not quite what I feel is down to earth! Because, a ‘ Thank You’ is coming almost every 30 seconds out the mouth, and it breaks up the flow of conversation and information being given. I’ve noticed it along time now, BUT in the last 6 months, I see I’m not alone when I read a media report calling Susan, ” the most ‘over polite’ person in show business”. It’s TOO much! She could barely get critiqued (like everyone else) on ‘ Dancing With the Star’s ‘ because she was so busy saying “Thank You”, during the critique!! Those overwhelming many ‘ Thank You’s ‘ have changed how I view Susan, but more like Erica Kane. Let me see Susan do something that is not associated with Vanity, Beauty, Clothes, Jewelry, having Money or ANY Erica Kane association OR men swarming all over her. Do something like the GORGEOUS Farrah Fawcett did (in her day) when she took out the vanity in The Burning Bed, and other movies and just ACTED without ALL the vanity prompts. I know Susan can look beautiful, I want to know WHAT ELSE she can do besides that??!!!

That’s what Susan said when she concluded her acceptance speech for the Emmy, ” I’m going to go back to that studio on Monday and I’m going to play Erica Kane for all that she is worth!”. See, I remember her exact words, because HER acceptance speech is one of the 4 BEST I have EVER heard, and THAT acceptance speech DESERVES an Emmy! U can’t watch it without crying- you will acturally get ALL CHOKED UP before U start to cry. It is one of the BEST acceptant speeches of ALL TIME, in the top 4 in my opinion. Ok, the year she won, I feel she did better work a year or two before, and I hated the clip she presented. On AMC (when she was drinking, she won an award and had to give an acceptance speeech) and Susan playing drunk, KILLED IT. I felt she should have presented that clip for the millions to see that didn’t watch AMC but knew about Susan Lucci. I didn’t feel she had her best year when she won. I am also NOT happy that she never won again, as if they feel compelled to give it to her that year. I know they robbed her a year or two before when she should have won. She should have more awards on her home mantle just for getting out her bed for 41 year’s and driving audiences to AMC and abc. Susan is beautiful and people hold beauty against you and that had much to do with her loses. THAT’S WHY it is imperative for Susan to do something that has nothing to do with her beauty, and Erica Kane association.

This is the year Susan SHOULD HAVE WON…… I feel it was a message to her PEERS, and those WHO ROBBED her of that award out of jealousy! She should have won the EMMY for THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just pointed out ( in contast) and what I know Susan can do, and how it would be FITTING to see her do more than Erica Kane types… and that is the reason I follow her waiting for the time it comes. She uses the same weapon (to keep the dough rolling in) they have used against her for year’s. Her beauty. What an irony. Thank’s David for having the expectation of Susan to expect more (some people dont) but for being open enough to not close the door on her. ; )

the video was cute and susan lucci is busy and I agree that ereka slezak should get some kind of project,as long as its not on anything abc/disney ,it would break my heart ,but I wont watch anything they are a part of if it has to do with the mouse house .like ryan on desperate housewives and william devaine going to revenge,back to ereka ,I would love to see her win a oscar(and I hope no one will watch it this year its on abc) she is a good actress and can do anything .we have seen that for 40 years,she was the heartbeat of one life to live,that I miss very much ,and like michael ,I like to keep track of time,but we are going on week 5 ,without visiting with the citizens of landview,I still feel the loss,when its 2 oclock,the feeling of what am I going to do hits me ,and still, I dont know what to do ,to many years of watching one life to live,its not that easy to change your habits,not with something that you have done everyday for 43 years.

Erika Slezak deserve her own primetime sitcom. Although she said that she was open to join any of the four remaining soap operas, I just don’t see Slezak on theses soaps (not even on GH).
But on primetime, definitely. I’d follow Slezak and her potential sitcom on any channel, even on ABC.
I just got back from internet surfing ,mostly the soap sights ,I read at daytime confidential,that the hallmark channel is looking for some scripted dramas ,to bad they couldnt put one life to live on,once a week ,talk about giving erika slezak her own show again,the hallmark channel would have to get on there knees and beg abc to release the rights back to agnes nixon,any way its just a thought.also at facebook,(day time fans unite ) there is something there from p p.there was suppose to be news from them, I read the thing but its just the same bull I have been hearing ,anyone interested just go there to see.its a long reading,I really dont have a comment about it ,its just every day that goes by ,all the actors are all over the place.cant have landview with all new people ,however ,on a brighter note,dallas is coming back with the same cast,so never say never,also saw that days of our lives and general hospital ,did not do good in the ratings ,heather you are the one to go to with the ratings ,what do you think?this is not good ,the soap fans are out there ,so why are the ratings going to the basement?this just gives abc another excuse to kill there last daytime soap.
I don’t believe crap that comes from Prospect Park nor do I think that One Life to Live will come back. ABC will never accept to release the rights to Nixon. That’s the cold hard truth.
GH and Days are falling because they are failing to give the viewers what they want. They both emphasize too much on the same characters . With GH, it’s always Sonny, Jason and Carly , while with Days it’s all about Sami, EJ, Will, Hope and Bo. GH is a dark and depressing soap, while Days stories are just plain boring, ridiculous and unoriginal.
GH and Days can bring all the veteran cast members they want. But as long as they continue to neglect their fanbases by having storylines that sucks, they will continue to decline.
yes she has been very busy as erika cane ,never thought about her that way ,your right ,years ago she was on a few ,made for tv movies cant remember what they were about.erika slezak is a good,if not one of the best actresses , she is the one who should be going all over the place getting parts for different roles ,if not her own show.as we have seen for 40 years she can be anyone,I miss her most of all.and yes she is as good as meryl streep.I would like to know what she is doing these days ,last I heard about her was in the interview after one life to life was canceled ,saying bull shit ,to abc,which I agree with every word she said.hopefully somewhere in time we will see her again doing something grand and yes ,get an emmy or an oscar.

Thanks for replying. You are right. The Erica Kane role has stereotyped Susan and not always for the best, but I hadn’t really thought about it until you pointed it out. Susan is a good performer and deserves a wider stage for her talent. I agree Susan could dazzle in a role other than Erica if given the chance. If we were all a little more fair and even-handed in our judgments (except when it comes to ABC canceling OLTL), the world would be a better place.

I might have said susan lucci,but I was referring to erika slezak to,she is pissed ,I forgot but this morning I wrote how Im not to happy about susans move to stay with abc/disney.I wish I could remember where I read that abc owns her It was after she said how she was lied to ,she was at the time having a meeting with the, slap guy,marc cherry.she has known all this time she was going to be on that new abc soap ,Im not saying she knew ,but something stinks ,why dont people tell the truth?I guess she is a good actress,because that woman fooled me.I am no longer a fan.I want to know how long she knew she would be staying with abc/disney,I dont care that she is ,I know how she behaved after all my children was canceled.wish I could remember where I read that abc owns her because they have for decades remember her prime time movies?After my friend leaves later on today<i will be doing alot of google ing.but seriously I am disappointed in her,I thought she was genuinely hurt over the loss of all my children and was very surprised over abc/disney letting the soaps go.I couldnt work for somebody like that ,but her ass was saved wasnt it?
Erika Slezak deserve her own primetime sitcom. Although she said that she was open to join any of the four remaining soap operas, I just don’t see Slezak on theses soaps (not even on GH).
But on primetime, definitely. I’d follow Slezak and her potential sitcom on any channel, even on ABC.
the way susan lucci and ereka slezak sounded off after the canceling of the soaps I dont think,and I could be wrong ,they would want to work for abc.I know I wouldnt, not after what they did ,by putting alot of people out of work,because of greed and nothing else,and I cant believe abc is making any money with the idiot shows they have on now, especially the one that they are paying people to go in to watch.I can see mickey mouse and daffy duck outside the abc studio now, begging people to go see there boring ,stupid show.sorry mickey,no more abc for me.

Because on the February 10th Susan Lucci post, you stated U didn’t think Lucci would want to work for abc?

Thank you for the link to the video of Erica’s speech. I enjoyed Susan’s performance. I remember her hosting Saturday Night Live before she won the Emmy and she was great. I take back what I said. I will watch Susan Lucci wherever she is.

1loveabcsoaps,dont get mad at me but I cant watch,I never liked her (OPRAH),and I still think its to early for bobby to be doing a interview so close to her mothers death.oprah didnt help me when my soaps were canceled so I cant help her get her ratings up,oprah did not have to put the soaps on her network ,but her voice about the cancellation of the soaps could have meant alot.I hope the problem here is fixed,did you read about trevor st.john he and ron talked.
I really think Susan Lucci would shine on a sitcom. And in fairness to her, I think Erica Kane became bigger than life but Lucci must be a really good actress because everyone confuses Lucci with Erica Kane. But Lucci is a committed family person and hardly like Erica Kane which shows she can act. The problem is as I have said before everyone identifies so heavily Susan with Erica but you can’t say that about too many actors/characters. This isn’t logical, and the saem but not as much for Erika Sleazak, Lucci has stayed true to daytime tv. She had other opportunities as we know but the fact she was “only” a daytime star but got leading roles in tv movies which really relied upon her to bring in the viewers and i believe they were all top 20 shows and for the most part top 10. But she stayed true to daytime tv and didn’t go for the lure of more money and glamour. Now she deserves her reward and the people should see her in comedy. But wow she looked great in the video. She should play a dual role on a sitcom – mousy maid/aunt and the glamourous and sexy grandmother -(maybe wear that hoochie coochie dress from the Estefan video!
