This announcement was made today, live on The View”by creator/executive producer/co-host and former NATAS Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Barbara Walters. The award will be presented at the Daytime Emmy Awards gala on June 23, 2012 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

“Bill Geddie is an icon in the television industry,” said Malachy Wienges, Chairman, NATAS. “When he and Barbara Walters created ‘The View’ 15 years ago, they introduced a new and innovative daytime television talk show format. We at the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences are proud to have Bill receive our 2012 Daytime Lifetime Achievement Award.”

Bill Geddie, along with Barbara Walters, serves as executive producer of  The View ABC’s critically acclaimed live talk and entertainment program produced by ABC and Ms. Walters’ Barwall Productions.  Mr. Geddie has also partnered with Ms. Walters for the past 25 years as the executive producer of “The Barbara Walters Specials” and “The 10 Most Fascinating People,” which he also co-writes and directs.

Mr. Geddie and Ms. Walters joined creative forces over 15 years ago for The View and have watched their original idea of women of different ages, experiences and backgrounds discussing the most exciting events of the day evolve into one of Daytime’s most popular and talked-about programs.  The View received the 2003 Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Talk Show” and is the recipient of numerous Daytime Emmy Award Nominations, including 12 nominations for Outstanding Talk Show. In 2009 The View hosts Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd were named Outstanding Talk Show Host. It was the first time in the 39-year history of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences that multiple talk show hosts were bestowed this honor.

That award should be going to Ms. Agnes Nixon for creating two scripted dramas, All My Children and One Life To Live, that both lasted more than 40 years on air!!!

Agnes Nixon received the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010 at the 37th Daytime Emmy’s…..no one probably remembers, because that was one of the years that the show was aired on The CW or something like that, and it was in Vegas (when they did such a horrible job producing the Emmy’s).

In the real life story, the remains of the women were uncovered accidentally as police searched for Shannan, who went missing after visiting a client, whom she met on Craigslist, in the gated community of Oak Beach on Long Island, and then fleeing the man’s home.   However, police believe that Mari’s unwavering fight to find her daughter which led to finding the other women is not how Shannan ultimately disappeared.

While the case has yet to be solved the film shares, “Though the search for the serial killer is still ongoing, Mari’s passionate dedication to giving her daughter and other forgotten women a voice, and the attention they deserve, has kept the case alive with hopes of a breakthrough soon.”

PEOPLE exclusively dropped the trailer over the weekend.  Make sure to check it out.

Once the trailer was released, Delaney shared on her Twitter account: “Amazing director @StanleyMBrooks Thank you so much, Stan!Very special producers, cast and crew. An important story!”

Mark Consuelos on the All My Children Primetime Reboot: “I Know They’re Going to Bring Back Some Fan Favorites”

On Friday, Mark Consuelos (Ex-Mateo, AMC) was a guest on the CBS afternoon series, The Talk, where he shared his excitement and some insight into the upcoming All My Children primetime reboot, Pine Valley, in development at ABC..

As previously reported, Mark and his wife Kelly Ripa (Ex-Hayley, AMC) are two of the executive producers on the project.

Consuelos shared on the reboot:All My Children was such a big part of my life and my wife’s life. And you know, I met my wife there obviously, had kids, became a young man on that show, and we got the opportunity to reboot the primetime version and the idea was brought to us, and we’re so excited.  Of all the things that we’ve ever announced that we’re going to do, this is one of the biggest responses we’ve got from our fans. They’re so excited.  It’s a big piece of TV that’s been missing for such a long time, and we’re going to bring it back.”

When avid soap fan and The Talk co-host, Sheryl Underwood, posed a major question to Consuelos that has been on longtime All My Children fans minds, she got a solid response from him.

Sheryl was trying to get some tea on who might appear in the reboot, when she asked, “Is it going to be the Cortlandts and the Warners? Is it going to be everybody?” Consuelos then responded with: “I know they’re going to bring back some fan favorites, and it will take place in Pine Valley, and I’m really, really excited.”

You can watch a portion of Mark’s virtual visit on The Talk below.

Then let us know, which AMC characters do you want to see back and on the primetime series, Pine Valley?  Share your thoughts in the comment section.

Lexi Ainsworth Teases Her Return to General Hospital

With her father Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) presumed dead (although viewers know he is very much alive with amnesia), it looks like Kristina is on her way back to Port Charles – which would be a welcome return to the role for Daytime Emmy winner Lexi Ainsworth.

Rumors began circulating on Inauguration day Wednesday, when Ainsworth shared a pic on her Instagram Story of her watching the ceremonies from a dressing room at Prospect Studios in Los Angeles, where GH is taped.

Later, after reports had surfaced on social media that Ainsworth might be returning to her signature role, the actress shared some of those on her Instagram Story as well, which was seen as her way of confirming she is back on the show.

Lexi has been recurring on General Hospital for the last several years, so there is no telling how long she will be on-screen this time.

While there has been no official confirmation from GH, chances are that if there is a funeral ahead for Sonny, Kristina of course would be there to mourn her father. Stay tuned.

So, excited that Lexi will be back on-air on GH? Comment below.
