Tuesday’s episode of CBS’ The Young and the Restless looks to feature Abby (Melissa Ordway) confronting her mother Ashley (Eileen Davidson) on what went down during the inferno that tore through the Newman Enterprise building on Halloween.

As viewers remember, Ashley was trapped in the fire alone with Stitch (Sean Carrigan) and he told her he loved her, but he is set to marry Abby.  However the two (Ashley and Ben AKA Stitch) revealed to each other they have quite a connection.

Now Abby is set to have a showdown with her mother as to why Ashley lied about exactly what Stitch confessed when he thought he was going to have his last breathes in the fire.

Do you think Ashley should do anything to have Stitch for herself, or  let her daughter and Stitch go on with their lives and watch from the sidelines?  Do you want Abby and Ben to say their “I do’s”?  What do you think of this storyline?  Watch the preview for Tuesday’s episode after the jump.  Then, share your thoughts in the comment below!

This is so hard to say either way because I like them both. I think Stitch is better with Ashley but no matter who he chose it’s a soap-opera, the’ll end in divorce so he can go with the other one. Yesterday I actually turned it off for the first time in ages but I was so excited about Jack spilling the beans on Victor and having Victor arrested for once in his miserable life. I was so angry when he backed down then I waited to see if Phyllis would step-up but she didn’t so I turned it off, on went Christmas music and laundry was done.

“On went Christmas music and laundry was done.” And don’t you feel like you got so much accomplished instead? 🙂

I am really saddened at the farce this show has become. Used to be, not too long ago, that you could turn on CBS and watch an engaging daytime drama called THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. Now what airs instead is a very poorly written comedy, but I don’t know what it is called. It definitely is not the show that I have known and loved for decades.

What I wouldn’t do to have Maria Arena Bell back. Her stories dragged on forever, but at least she told soap story and not shock and awe.

Nikki I do not watch enough to know for sure but what little I have seen and read I would say the NEW Billy is coming on for Phyllis not Victoria which I myself think if JT stands a chance that’s the way it should go. I think they have started it with BIlly drinking again etc and JT has a knack for playing the playboy so let’s get him back to womanizing and Phyllis back to her feisty self . I think we have had enough of boring Jack and Phyllis and on again off again Billy & Victoria. I think that is exactly why JFP went after Jason Thompson because before they had him as a family man he played playboy and as someone pointed out to me he was being wasted on GH.

You are so right I do feel like I accomplished a lot that needed to be done. I still remember the beautiful Christmases with the Abbott’s and the house was decorated to the nines. I read that Beth(Tracey Abbott) is coming back for the holidays. I wish they would keep her on for good. I’m just sick of that whole Newman bunch. Victoria always forgives her father no matter what he does. Nikki has been nothing but a side kick to Victor for so long and she always has the nerve to apology’s for Victor’s cruelty but she’s always on his arm and for goodness sake either change Victor’s personality and soften him up or make him guilty and send him to jail.

I’m right there with you Nikki. So disappointing.

Does anyone remember when Ashley and her mother Dina were each romancing/being romanced by Marc Mergeron oh, about 30-35 years ago?

Ashley and Dina were both involved with Eric Garrison. Marc Mergeron was Dina’s stepson.

Ashley was involved with Eric Garrison who she found out about Eric and Dina and Ashley stopped seeing Eric for Mark Mergeron who happened to be Dina’s Stepson.
Oh how I miss The Young and the Restless, the way it use to be…

Of course. Duh! Thank you, Alan and Kevin for the correction. I do miss Y&R the way it used to be, too, Kevin. For some reason, I keep thinking about the plot when Katherine sent John puzzle pieces to expose Jill’s affair. Classic fun! And I love Jess Walton but I did like the vampier Jill from back in the day, too.

I would LOVE a classic soap channel. I so enjoyed the flashback on yesterday’s episode, though very brief. I’ve only been watching Y&R about 10 years or so, when it showed up on SOAPnet. I was an ABC soap fan and watched DOOL too, but rarely caught the CBS soaps back in the day. When I started watching Y&R even back then I was completely drawn in and understood why it was the #1 soap all those years.

Iakovos…I remember the puzzle too…Well, we have the memories of the good old days…I know I have brought this up a few times but it seem TPTB will not listen, at least bring the classic background music back then maybe the show will somewhat feel like it use to be…So miss the Brooks, Foster, Williams…Hey everyone, I do love change but only if it’s for the better and alot it’s not. THANKS for listening everyone.

This is not about what Ashley should do. She is hitting 60….way past her prime to chase rainbows, especially with a much younger man who is at the threshold of marrying her daughter. This is typical soap fodder. Around and around we go, everybody!!
If I were Abby, I would leave both in my dust; take a minute and walk through fresher and greener pastures.

Please, Abby. Don’t let this guy sweet talk you into marriage. Your heart will end up in stitches. Ha!

Oh the old days of Ashley she is not written or portrayed as what Bill Bell created said the same for Sharon, Phyllis, Jack the list goes on and on yes Mr. Bell is gone but his memory and his love of his characters should live on.was he the perfect writer no but he knew his characters yes he was big on triangles etc I could tell you repeat stories he did but he always made you root for them I miss the days of crying and feeling have we so become a society that we have no feeling no emotion just a quick fix my daughter thinks we have I hope she is wrong. Well back to the books next year three more hours and I have my degree and then I will let this board know what my degree is in. It will blow your minds!! Have a very Merry Christmas and a great New Year!!!!

@K/Kay.
I hear you, Kay. I am not too young to think about the old days. As I said I started watching avidly at fourteen. I am now twenty-nine and I consider fifteen years ago the ‘olden days’. Lol. I grew up watching Y&R, with my Gran. What I am saying is Mr. Bell ll would have never changed Jack’s character. This is not the true Jack.
Happy Holidays to you also, my lady. And, congrats and more power to you for getting your college degree. Later.

Watch out Tina Fey!

@Timmm.
Thank you, my Timmm. I will take that as a compliment. Tina Fey…..I wish!

@K/Kay.
I so agree with you, Kay. I have been lamenting Jack’s and Phyllis’s relationship forever. For one thing, this Phyllis is too young for Jack…..he’s old enough to be her father.
What you are saying fits like a glove….everywhichway one looks at it. I am so glad you brought it to the fore. It makes so much sense, and I truly hope the PTB go there. Jason and Gina would be perfect together. I suppose the bosses are paving the way by having Billy suddenly needing Phyllis’s shoulder upon which to cry. Burgess and Gina would have never worked. I am licking my lips in anticipation, lol. This should really be something to see. It is time Jack come down this perennial youthful horse of his. I can’t stand him as much as I can’t stand Victor. Each calls the kettle black. But, in my book they have both done things that makes our hair stand on end, lol. One is no better than the other, albeit the ‘higher-ups’ want us to forget the dastardly acts Jack has committed.
I strongly feel that the Jack character has been holding Phyllis down with a firm booted foot on her back.
Gina Tognoni will never replace Michelle Stafford’s Phyllis for me, but being held back by Peter B makes it even more difficult. I know we are not seeing Gina’s greatness. She’s stuck with Jack. It seems that she has to dance to his tune. I have never known Phyllis to be a follower of anyone. This is why I am so happy GH is starting to show Michelle’s Nina as a take-charge character, editor of a magazine. Nina is beginning to test her wings….soon she will take flight. And, I really do not care how much people don’t like her.
But, I digress…..At the very least Gina and Jason are more age appropriate, and much more relatable. Great post, Kay.

I agree, CeeCee.

I think pairing Jason with Gina will give EACH actor a change to reinvent their assumed characters. They will both be in a relationship that none of their predecessors has been in so it will be fresh and they will be able to make it their own.

I also feel like poor Gina has been kept on a short leash. She is capable of so much more.

The fact that she was duped into bedding her husband’s imposter (rape) and hasn’t been at Victor’s carotid … LITERALLY … is NOT typical of Phyllis. Oh the writers can say she is not herself since the drug that Victor gave her but please!

Jason can’t be on my Y&R screen soon enough. It will feel like a warm, spring day when he arrives. This show so desperately needs something to look forward to.

@Chrystie:
So glad we are in sync about Jason and Gina. I do respect your view, Chrystie, which makes me very glad that you too, see this couple as starting anew….fresh start, as it were. As you say, make it their own.

@Harry.
Wow! That’s quite a compliment coming from you, Harry. So much ‘stitching’ going on. We should start a Stitching Club.

Eileen is 56. Sean is 41.
A 15 year difference isn’t that huge…I’ve done that myself with much success!
LOL

I am glad to hear age was not an issue for you. I suppose if it does not matter to the people involved, then it’s no one’s business. And, I am not being facetious, here. However, did you hook-up/marry your future son-in-law? That’s my issue.

Eileen is rather ageless, and I agree fifteen years is not a big deal.
But fear not! Today Ashely finally met Dr Neville (Michael E Knight).
I saw sparks and I liked it. I want Dr Neville to fly out of the orbit of the Winter’s clan and today it finally happened. I just hope he’s on more than once a month.
PS. Cee Cee, your post had me in “Stiches”!

Plus, Eileen looks fantastic!

CeeCee…why do you think because Ashley is “hitting 60…she is way past her prime to chase rainbows?” She’s looking pretty good for her age,” don’t you think?” And she can probably carry on a better conversation, and has had some interesting life experiences to talk about compared to Abby, etc. Some younger guys find this attractive. And I hope for anyone who reach certain cutoff ages some people have made for them, they are always chasing rainbows of many kinds, and this doesn’t mean just affairs. Else you might as well fold your tent and call it a day.

In this case I don’t think Stitch is a great catch for anyone, but sparks and electricity can still happen…even when you are over 50 (shudder to some) and beyond. And since it’s a soap they writers do their thing about setting up a potential mother/daughter conflict.

I don’t mean this as a criticism, but as someone who has been younger, and now not so young. I’ve had a chance to modify some of my opinions. Great interview is with Jane Fonda on CBS called a Note To My Younger Self. 🙂

Oh, Rose, my dear friend. Some men want to have kids. Ben is relatively a young man. Ashley cannot give him a child. Yes, they could adopt, but to me she is too old to start a family. It is my opinion, Rose, whether you agree with it or not. Marriages with such a big age difference….either grinder…..never work out. That’s all. ‘Nite.

That should read: either gender, not grinder. Lol.

CeeCee…I may have sounded a little flippant re: age, marriage and kids. It’s just that there are more kind of relationships between men and women than getting married and having a family. If there is love and respect between them I’m all for it…even if there is a difference in ages. I’ve seen and heard about some with bigger age differences that have been very successful? At the same time there are stats on the divorce rate in the US…up to 50%?

I”m not sure what it was between Stitch and Ashley…sometimes there can be an adrenalin rush when colleagues work on a project…in their case the “kissing” perfume. Wonder if this one of the reasons many companies frown on employees of the same company having relationships.

And I do admit to “rolling my eyes” when I hear yet another story of older men marrying younger women for what some would call them “eye candy,” ego building. Beside it takes older guys off the market for women closer to their age, and it makes me sad for these women who may have sold out for money, second father, over just insecurities. Geez, here I am making pretty harsh assumptions…I try not to do this. Plus, bothers me for older men/younger girls, they used to be called May/September relationships. But with older women with younger men, the women are called cougars. I love animals, but I think the intent was of a more predatory nature.

But I do enjoy hearing how happy you are with a guy you really love and your kids! Love good news stories on matters of family and heart.

My only issue with the age difference is that no one addresses it. They also don’t address the weirdness of this mother/daughter love triangle I mean, it’s creepy! While Ben was begging Ashely to be his, I kept waiting for her to say two things: 1. “Ben, you want children and I cannot give you that–we are at different points in our lives .” 2. “We can never be happy if our relationship is predicated upon hurting my daughter. This will never work.”

I am right with you on this one. The actress playing Abbey has really grown the past few months, and she has zilch chemistry with Stitch, who has zilch chemistry with any woman on this show. The guy needs to find an old school marm!

As I suggested a few weeks back, Ashley needs an intelligent man, and it seems that is what is happening with Neville, once the writers tone down the “Mad Doctor” motif.

Cee Cee…I agree age is a big consideration if they want to get married and have kids, but who said they wanted to get married and have kids?

No one did, Rose. I said some men, not all men. To me, fifteen years is a lifetime of a difference, regardless of respect, interests and love. But, as I have indicated, it is my opinion. People have choices. Just making a statement. Let us agree to disagree, yes? My main objection is this triangle with boyfriend, mother and daughter. I find it revolting. What can I say?

[Yakkety Sax, the theme from BENNY HILL, begins to play]

What an asinine show this has become. Ashely and Ben (please stop calling him “Stitch!”) were together a milisecond when they had DRUNKEN sex in a shower.

Abby and Ben were together having sex in bed in a hotel room a millisecond after he broke up with Victoria.

Now ask me if I give a rat’s butt who winds up with who!

I want to hug you, Chrystie. You cinched it. Nothing else needs to be said.

I love your posts too! 😉

@Chrystie.
Thank you.

And as I have said many times before, Ben falls in love with everyone! He fell in love with Victoria when she was with Billy. He fell in love with Abby when he was with Victoria. He fell in love with Ashely when he was with Abby.
He’s a confused Lothario for sure. This is why I call him Pepe Le Pew.
People of Genoa City! Lock up your cats!

And how long did it take for him to bed Victoria?
Man-slut!

That’s right, SZima. THEY had drunk sex too … in the back of a car!

I like that term, man-slut. Very original. Lol. Too funny and true. Besides, his head is shaped like a perfect cantaloupe. Imagine running your fingers through that. Ugh!!

BITCH [Ben/Stitch] wouldnt have a chance with either of them in real life!

Better yet, Timmm. BITCH…good one!

How about they both have sex with Ben at the same time and the one who comes out alive gets him. Either that or Ben dies in the sheets during the 3some. You know Chuck Pratt wants to write that.

Too funny, Mateo. Personally, I wouldn’t touch cantaloupe head with a ten-foot-pole. Ugh….’shiver me timbers’.

Try this on for size Y&R, Stitch marries Abby and they whisk off to zip code 90210 and live happily ever after. This story line along with that Noah triangle is b-o-r-i-n-g and stupid. I’m sorry, I like the actor who plays Stitch I just don’t like his acting in this particular story line and he has as much chemistry with Abby as Victor had with Sharon….ZERO!

No I love Abby as well as Ashley. If we’re going to send someone to the 90210 letsw make it Victoria, Victor and Nikki.

Ah, sweet Nikki. I, too love Ashley; always have. But, there is a limit to her youthful escapades. It is a soap, I know. …..but I would never marry a man who has slept with my mother; or, know that there is a probability that my husband and my mother still have forbidden feelings for each other. I have always had a problem when soaps play this card. Now, I can sort of accept this behavior among siblings. But, I draw the line at hopping into bed with daughters/sons-in-law. Both Victor and Nikki have done so. Victor with Sharon…DISGUSTO!!!!! And, Nikki with Cole Howard, one of saintly Victoria’s few husbands. YUCK. So, in that respect, you are soooo right. You know I love and respect your posts. Considering from whence Nikki hails and the slutty life she has led before, during, and after her several marriages….funny how she still manages to have that haughty aura about her; with her nose way up there in the air looking down at people….namely Sharon. Bye, my friend.

Dont see chemistry between Ben and Ashley, and their age difference is kinda
a lot, anyway. Used to think Ben and Abby were good together, but now I just
want Abby happy with a guy who is not a fickle dog!
Scratch all 3 of them, and start over, lol.

You can say that again….

I don’t mind the age difference. However, in real life that age difference would be noted and mentioned often as a conflict or an obstacle. No one ever mentions age differences in soap operas.

@Harry.
Absolutely, Harry. You always make sense to me. I would think that in reality it’s a personal choice. I could never see myself marrying someone fifteen younger or older than I. I don’t understand why people get so upset over my being frank with my feelings. Eileen does look great. She’s beautiful. But, it doesn’t change her age. Bye.

If this triangle continues it will play out later, after Ben and Abby are married. After Ashley fainted in the snow I predict she is dying and her new love will eventually be that Dr. Neville who saved Hilary, who will no doubt find a miracle cure for Ashley as well.

Personally I like to see Jenna come back, win Ben back and they go off into the sunset together. This character started off with so much potential, but the way they wrote him, from being this noble man who gave up his life to protect his mother to this cad who loves who ever is in front him, has given this character an expiry date– imo the sooner he goes the better.

I like it, Mary. Good premise on both counts.

I really like Ben but your right Mary his character is boring. I kinda thought the same thing when Ashley entered the restaurant and met him. Ashley is usually more laid back and this time she seemed pushy. If you remember she walked right over and introduced herself interrupting the conversation between Devon & the Doc. I think something is going on there for sure. Maybe she read about him. Now that he got this money from Devon Ashley could get him working in the lab. I just wish they would do something with Victor’s character. He looks like a 70 something year old running around Genoa City thinking he’s Rambo. Maybe the ghost of Christmas past will hit him on the head and give him a heart. While we’re at it. I want him to leave Adam alone. He got what he wants from him now leave him live his life. Keep your word for a change.

Again, Nikki, you’re too sweet. But, at this point nothing will redeem Victor. He has Colleen’s heart; even that didn’t help. Just that monumental feat alone should have been his saving grace. But, not even the Almighty God could turn the devil’s eyes down the path of righteousness. Golly Gee!! I should have been a preacher. Methinks I’m in the wrong profession. Lol.
You have described Victor like no other. Good description. He’s also a Yenta. He spends his days, visiting his children, threatening/bullying others, or create havoc for most.
You may be on to something, Nikki. About Ashley and Neville, I mean. Perhaps there’s a newfound alliance there. Perhaps Ashley is in fear of dying because her tumor is back? Perhaps that is the reason she is hurrying Abby’s and Ben’s wedding along? She wants to see her daughter settled before she dies? Will Dr. Neville save the day? Will Ashley and Dr. Neville become a couple?
Timmm, Harry and I had discussed this possibility way back when. So, Nikki you may have discovered gold.

He’s got Colleens’s HEART! 🙂 I think he turned it to ice when it was transplanted into his body.

i would love to see ashley & dr neville in a meaningful relationship but tptb/writers would probably screw that up too……………………..jmo

Well said Mary SF!

Let’s be honest: Ashley can do waaaaaaaaaay better.

Stitch has zero chemistry with either woman. If the writers insist on keeping Stitch around they should make the character an opportunistic bed-hopping scoundrel (he’s already slept with 2 sisters and one of their mothers so it wouldn’t ex try be a stretch) because the sympathetic doc thing ain’t working.

Alan–indeed! Today Ashely met Dr Simon Neville. I think I heard the angels singing from the rafters.

Pretty loudly, did those angels ding. I heard them too. Michael/Neville is such a catch. That’s one time I would make an exception in age……just to touch that face. His skin is amazing, Harry.

Correction—sing, not ding.

I’m about done with this show. Victor wins again # 2,296,452. I just can’t with this crap.

Go away, Ben. No one cares. And that’s just the tip of the very cold iceberg this show has become. Where’s Gloria and Jill? Phyllis about to do Billy? No thank you. Ugh!

Michael snubbing Victor’s offer of a cookie was about the only good thing from yesterday’s epi. I do love Mariah, so there’s that.

That was funny, MbMom. Also, today Victor told Jack that the Abbott family are now poorer than a church mouse.
Now, who talks like that? Victor does! Love him or hate him, he is a classic and truly a unique individual.

I do love to hate him. I did enjoy Wednesday’s epi. I’d like to see Ashley front-burner, but not with Stitch. I think MEK looks better than ever and I could see the odd doctor and Ashley making an interesting couple. I like Melissa Ordway’s Abby, but I’ve never warmed to Stitch (he’s gross sleeping with mother, daughter, sister). LOVED the flashback of Jack, Vic & Nikki. I wonder if they are going to hook up Phyllis with Billy and revisit Nikki and Jack? Hmmm…

I’m used to Victor winning and it really doesnt bother me. What does is Jack always comes off like a powerless wimp! Why doesnt he start a new company and build an empire and shine without Victor able to stick his nose into it! I love Jack but he needs to lead his family for once!

What bothers me most isn’t necessarily Victor winning EVERY time, but how wimpy it makes Jack look. Not a good look for one of my fave soap characters. I like that Jack more often than not takes the moral high ground. But you can be moral and a winner. Especially in fiction.

I am tired of Victor always kicking sand in Jack’s face too.
Has anyone else noticed that Jack always looks like he is about to say the F word?

Ha, Harry, LOL! I thought the same thing!

Ladies, Stitch isnt worth the gum on the bottom of my shoe! Family first and go find your own guys. With Ashley passing out in the park this sets up her and Dr. Michael E Knight! Love it!

Amen! I have sisters, a mom & daughters and can tell you THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN! Yuck!

And yes to Ashley & Dr. Neville. (It was also nice to see Ghost John)

That’s what I’ve been trying to say, BM and Timmm. It is disgusting to me….never would happen in my family either. I have three sisters, two brothers and parents as well. Eileen is older than my mother. My nieces are all under twelve, lol. I will not deny the age bothers me too, but it is not lascivious, as long as the people involved are consenting adults (no sharing of relatives, please. Lol) .
Nonetheless, I had a few fans wanting to go a round of word-battle with me for expressing an opinion. Golly Gee!!

This whole story line brings me back to the days of the Bold& Beautiful when Brooke married Eric the dad, Ridge son #1, followed by Thorn son #2 then remarried Ridge son #1 again O.M.G. How disgusting.

Nikki, I think B&B is the most incestuous soap on the air. Which, unfortunately, is saying a lot. It continues to this day with cousins, brothers, fathers, sons, etc. Just gross. It’s Jerry Springer level of stupidity.

so happy to see eileen showcased in a front burner romance! she still rediates beauty and sex appeal as shown when she had many affairs as kirsten on days!!
i hope ashley says front and centre…where she belongs! i really enjoyed seeing her envisioning john and missed their sweet father / daughter relationship!…
however im not impreesed how the writers have decimated ash s and vic s relationship, throughout the abbott/ newman war , ash was always stuck in the middle because of her loyalty to jack but her love and admiration of victor. this made the feud complex and further enraged jack and victor because of her defence of both men.i hope the writers can find a waty to mend ash and vic s friendship / romanctic feelings

Great post, damien.

kudos to great post

I do differ… that it would be great to see… a friendship… of sorts… develop between Victor and Ashley

perhaps a teasing flirtatious respect ; an eye to eye real partake of each other history… that it really did boil down to a division of power between the Abbott and Newman

that a love between these two existed but could never really go anywhere

perhaps after all these years… a bond

I could go for the ole curgmudeon; getting this

“I am waiting for the death of Victor”

I do differ…. *I would be appalled to see near death ole Victor even touching ED’ Ashley”

creepazoid

I hope there isn’t any marriage. Stitches character has been so desecrated that he needs to be rehabilitated. These almost incestuous storylines are too numerous for me.

On the other hand, someone raised the issue of new Billy being drawn to Phyllis. Was it clearly established that Jack and Phyllis were legally married by that crazy fellow on the island? In addition, do you think the issue of who hit the young girl has been put to rest following Adam’s trial?

I’ve missed some programs and don’t understand why Billy was the predominate guilty party regarding Paragon.

You are do right, Tani. I never thought about it that way, but ‘incestuous’ comes pretty close. Watch the PTB soras Faith, just for Ben.

They better not! #1 That actress is just the cutest little daisy and #2 I already vomit every time Stitch has his cantaloupe looking head snuggling next to the beautiful Melissa Ordway! I dont need to see another pretty blonde snuggling with Son of a Stitch!

‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

Published

Dominic Zamprogna

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).

On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.

Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT

Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”

Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”

Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES

In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”

Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”

You can check out Dominic’s visit to That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.

Now weigh-in: Are you rooting for Dante and Liz, or Dante and Ric at this juncture of the story, or neither guy  for Elizabeth? Let us know your thoughts and picks via the comment section.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.

However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.

Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG

Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!

Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”

MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL

Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).

Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY

Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”

It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”

A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”

He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.

So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.
