THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS: Adam and Nick Trapped as Faith Needs a Newman Kidney

This week on The Young and the Restless ,”Oh, brother”, takes on a whole new meaning.  In story, Nick (Joshua Morrow) shows up in Kansas looking for Adam (Mark Grossman) who is hiding out there, and once he obviously locates him things get pretty intense, especially from the looks of the all-new promo released on Sunday for the CBS Daytime drama series.

With a tornado on the way, Faith (Reylynn Caster) in desperate need of Adam’s kidney, and a heated discussion in a storm cellar, the stakes could not be higher.

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, Joshua Morrow previewed the situation between the two men who never see eye-to-eye: “Obviously there two aren’t the closest of people, and Adam is very leery of trusting Nick in any shape or form.  Nick does his darnedest to outline how serious the situation is with Faith, but Adam doesn’t believe him.  Adam doesn’t want Faith in harm’s way, but his first inclination is to assume this is a trap.”

But speaking of trapped, that’s exactly what it looks like happens when the ceiling collapses and Adam is the one who takes the brunt of it.  Watch the latest Y&R promo below.

Then weigh-in: do you hope Adam is able to save Faith with his kidney? Will this bond the brothers forever, if so? Will the two of them get out of Kansas without permanent injuries to either of them? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

I’ve been enjoying Y&R lately. This should be good.

The addition of susan banks seems to be helping:)

I hope he’s alright I want Faith to be fine and Adam to the brothers should bond but not with Sharon

So right, Sue. Sharon has treated Rey appallingly and is SO indecisive, she makes Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” seem like Judge Judy! I’m ready for a Nick and Adam bromance.

Iam sure this is to put Adam in the limelight and Sharon can once again sing his praises for not only saving Nick, which Iam just guessing he does but also saving Faith with his kidney donation. I always heard that you can live with only one, in fact a few soap characters have only one i.e Nelle on GH, Ric Forrester on B&B, etc. Didn’t Lola give one of hers to Summer, or was that liver, can’t remember. Speaking of Lola, does anyone else see the interest forming between she and Nate? Oh, one more thing can anyone tell me what Adam meant when he said, he drove Alissa Montalvo crazy? Did I miss or just totally forget that incident???

Hi Violet 🙂
Didn’t Adam save Nicks’s life before?
Adam ran into the burning tower and saved Nick?
and–
Y&R not only having everyone sleep/sex with everyone else-
Now they have many of them sharing organs..
Y&R the sex and organ exchange AHHA HAA!!

There’s no suspense here at all. Adam or Nick will get hurt and the other will save him. They’ll get back to GC and Adam will give Faith his kidney. Sharon and Nick will be so grateful to him. Victor will puff up his chest and sing Adam’s praises and tell the rest of the family he told them so. You got that?!

Mark Y
Yep, you are right, now you have a good day.

I wish josh morrow and mark would throw Josh Griffith into the storm cellar !? Lord, this show is either predictable, boring or convaluted!
Another lets redeem Adam story
A long complicated who cares backstory for Amanda
The brilliant Tricia Cast returns only to be wasted as a prop in this Abby pregnancy yawner
Sweet heroine Lola missing in the Kyle / Summer story only to be Elenas sounding board in this laughable Elena/ Devon/ Amanda/ Nate quad.(bad cheal imitation of the winters/ barber 90s glorydays) Ditto firece actress Mariah wasted ,given another dumpster story as a surrogate
Put Rey with Victoria and end the Sharon Rey misery already. Get Victoria some Ashland on the side. Make her a true boss! That’ll teach Billy and Sharon

Is Josh Griffiths contract up yet? Has the worst two / three years in y n r history over yet?!
Is their noooo one in Hollywood unemployed willing and available?!

Damien
You said it a lot better than I could. First I would like to say I think Lola and Nate are going to pair up, and Iam not really liking it, no chemistry there.
Amanda and her family is totally boring as you say, who cares? The whole pregnancy story is giving me morning sickness. Mariah doing all the work and Abby getting all the attention, gifts, etc. Why are we having this Faith crisis thing, just a Cassie reenactment.I can’t quite figure out who will benefit from it the most. Wish I could quit watching, but Iam addicted but it helps to bitch and moan about it.

I agree Violet but we hang in there. I have a feeling better stuff is on the way. Fingers crossed.

100%
Its out of love for the actors and holding on to bill bells vision. Every once in a while there are glimpses. But this regime has been trying our patience. The flat and the dull more like it. Faithful loyal viewers like us hold on ….

As long as Faith has one healthy kidney which is my understanding when I read this she does not need a donor. He made a absolute mess out of the suppose breast cancer storyline with Sharon! Shame on the writers no wonder so many of your viewers have stopped watching.

Ok sister says no both kidneys are bad ! Oh well hmm!

I know we’ve seen it before but, like books and movies, if it’s done WELL, I’m good with it. Every series in history is repetitive but sometimes it does move the plot along. I’d love to see Adam and Nick be friends and have the entire Newman clan destroy creepy Billy Abbott. I remember years back when Adam (then Justin Hartley), facing prison, asked Nick to watch out for his son, taking his hand in the visiting room. Very touching. And since I’m a big fan of Mark G., I’d like for Adam to get some love for a change. Though I’m sure Victoria will still carry the “ADAM IS THE SCOURGE OF THE WORLD” banner.

Soaphound
I would also like to see Adam and Nick be friends but as much as Victor is always standing up for Adam, he seems to be the one always pitting the others against him or doing something to alienate them.I sometimes wonder if Adam and Sharon decided to be a couple on screen as well, would Victor put up obstacles or embrace the union. Yes, Victoria’s personal life is in the dumpster, she’s so full of jealousy over Billy and Adam, and animosity over everyone else. She barely gives her mother the time of day and hasn’t even been to see Faith and be with her brother whom she is the closest to.

John Oliver, Days of Our Lives

Late Week Tonight host, John Oliver finishes up his tour of soap opera duty, next week in all-new episodes of Days of Our Lives. As previously reported, Oliver is arriving in Salem in a mystery role, but will share scenes with EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) and Rita (Maggie Carney), and from the newly-released Peacock promo with Mayor Paulina Price (Jackée Harry), too!

DAYS fans and ‘Late Nigh’t fans can look forward to three episodes featuring Oliver. First up on Tuesday, August 11, followed by Wednesday, August 12 and his last appearance on Friday, August 14.

Once Oliver put out the word on an episode of his HBO series back in March, sharing. “To all the soap operas out there, let me say this: I’m officially offering myself to you. Write me a role, and I will be on your set so fast, it will make your head spin,’ both General Hospital and Days of Our Lives came calling.

Oliver wrapped his three-episode General Hospital stint as the head of the WSB (World Security Bureau) on-screen on July 6, after his sudden emergence onto the scene of a shoutout and making quite the entrance via getting out of an actual helicopter on the July 2 episode. Oliver was praised by the GH cast and its fans for his portrayal as it was dramatic with a few soap tropes thrown in for fun, during his visit, too.

Now, can he do it again on Days of Our Lives? This time as of this posting, DAYS has not revealed who Oliver actually is within portraying within the story, but we do know he is wearing a dark wig on his head.

Days of Our Lives executive producer, Ken Corday previously said in a statement, “When John Oliver said, ‘Call me, soaps, I’m available and willing to travel. I want to be a part of that world,’ our world, we had to heed the call!”

As reported, Access Hollywood was on the set the day Oliver was in Salem and spoke to the guest star plus his scenes partner, Dan Feuerriegel and Maggie Carney, where Carney said of John, “He is fast, of course, quick on his feet. He definitely likes to improvise — which I do, too — but within the scope of the scene. So that’s so much fun. He’s very present.”

Now below, you can check out the promo sighting of John Oliver at the end of the teaser, while earlier in the video spoiler: Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) threatens Rita saying, “If you don’t get out of my way, I will make you get out of my way.”  Stephanie (Abigail Klein) does not likeAlex’s (Robert Scott Wilson) plan to move into Joy’s (AlexAnn Hopkins) room at the pub. Rafe (Galen Gering) shows up and reveals he has been following  Dimitri (Peter Porte) and it appears Chanel (Raven Bowens) is going into labor, or, is she? And did Theo get to say goodbye to his mother, Lexie (Nikki Crawford) in time? Stay tuned.

So, who exactly do you think John Oliver is playing next week when he arrives on Days of Our Lives? Intrigued to see how it all plays out after his successful stint as GH’s Z? Let us know via the comment section below.
