The Young and the Restless Jeanne Cooper Taken Back To Hospital This Morning!

Not good news to report this Daytime Emmy morning! Daytime Emmy winner and soap legend, Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor) of The Young and the Restless who had battled back from landing in critical condition and in the ICU over the week and half is now being reported as being taken back to the hospital this morning!

According to her son actor/director Corbin Bernsen on his Facebook page:  “An abundance of prayers needed this morning, mom has been taken back to hospital. Not sure what to pray for at this point or what we even want for her. I know in my heart there is more for her to do in this world, but I also know there is a season for all things. I want more than anything comfort for her. I want her to have peace. This is that tricky place where you start to weigh all things, not what we need to do, actions to take, but instead open ourselves for enlightenment as to what God has planned for her and ultimately what is best for her. She’s a fighter and I know she’ll continue that. But when you’re boxer is in the corner, bruised and bloodied from battle and demands to keep going, what do you do? I’m saying my prayers this morning, asking for guidance. Again, not reporting “the end” here, just that tricky place at the precipice and those moments requiring deepest reflection.”

OK soap fans, please, let’s send our prayers to Jeanne and her family at this time!  On-Air On-Soaps will keep you updated as developments warrant!

So sad… sending Jeanne all good wishes and prayers!!! Hang in there Jeanne… you have so many who care about you and want you to stay with us for many more years!

I have thought it has been especially difficult to watch her character Katherine going through severe health issues and looking to be in a coma while this is going on in real life. I would so much rather be seeing her being the strong and feisty Katherine we know and love!!!

Corbin it is time to turn it over to God. There comes a time when you have to give her to God to do as He wills. My mama was 89 last yr when she passed away. We did everything we knew to do. She came home to my house from the hospital. She asked if she was going to get better. I never lied to mama so I told her no. She said OK I am in God’s hands. So Corbin pray His will be done. He knows what is best. I am sending prayers up. God knows best!!!

Amen Edna…from your fingers…to God‘s ears…and back to JC and Corbin. It is so nice to hear a Hollywood celebrity placing faith in the Lord and prayer. I just lost my mom in March and losing a parent is just devastating. In my case especially hard because just a year and a half ago, I lost my two oldest brothers within a month and a day of each other, both to cancer. And now my mom. If my life were a soap opera, viewers would write in and comlain about too much tragedy. But, until such things happen, we never… Read more »

My heart goes to Jeanne and her family. It is difficult knowing when to admit you fought the good fight and accept whatever fate awaits you. I know from my own experience how hard it is to watch those we love struggle with illness– and being conflicted within yourself between wanting them to be alive and healthy- or at peace, even if that means losing them. My prayers are with you– whatever the outcome know you are loved.

I have prayed now for amost three weeks that our beloved Jeanne Cooper would come through this bad time, we all have prayed, I think the whole world has prayed for her. Now we have to pray to let God’s Will be done. He and only He knows what is truly best for precious Jeanne. All I am praying for now, is that she is peaceful, as her son expressed, and that she is surrounded by her extraoridary and loving family, which she is. If it is possible for her to come back to us as she always has been, vibrant… Read more »

You don’t have to be a celebrity to understand this family’s pain and heartache. To look beyond our own selfish desires (his, as a son who doesn’t want to lose his mom; and us, as fans who can’t bear to not watch Y & R without our Mrs. C) is the most difficult thing to face in this world. I had to do it last year with my Dad after a massive stroke. The prospect of having to let go is unbearably painful and lonely. Let’s continue to pray for her recovery, but also to give her loving family the… Read more »

Daytime Emmys To Remain Virtual For Upcoming 2021 Ceremony

With an uncertain situation of when live events can get back to normal, or as they have been in the past prior to the coronavirus pandemic, The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced today that it plans on keeping next year’s Daytime Emmys award show virtual, to allow for the 2022 awards cycle to stay on track.

In fact, all of NATAS’s award ceremonies including: the News and Documentary Emmys, Technology & Engineering Emmys and the Sports Emmys will also remain virtual next year.

The Daytime Emmys became the first major award show to air a virtual presentation that others followed back in late June of this year and aired on CBS.

In a statement, NATAS chairman and CEO Adam Sharp expressed on the organization’s decision:“The current timetables articulated by manufacturers project mass availability of vaccinations for the entire U.S. population by mid-summer 2021, potentially permitting a return to more traditional in-person ceremonies later in the fall. However, we have determined that delaying our 2021 events to possibly allow for a compressed calendar of in-person Emmy ceremonies late in the year would result in unacceptable delays to our awards cycle for 2022. Instead, we have decided to remain “virtual” in the format of our ceremonies for 2021 while relying on a substantially pre-COVID awards calendar. In so doing, we believe we will be best-positioned to return to a full, on-time, traditional schedule of in-person ceremonies in 2022.

The dates currently under consideration for the 48th annual Daytime Emmys which would be via two or three nights of presentations are: a combination of dates from Friday, June 25, Saturday, July 17 and/or Sunday, July 18.

For those entering the competition, the entry deadline is February, 17, 2021 with  the nominations not to come till May or June.

So, what do you think about the Daytime Emmys going virtual again for 2021? Comment below.
