THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS: Just Why Is Dr. Anderson Perpetrating This Heinous Plot Taking Baby Christian To Give To Sharon?

Courtesy/CBS

The Young and the Restless has certainly not been afraid, or shied away from bombshell, and sometimes twisted and outlandish plot points under head writer and executive producer, Chuck Pratt Jr.

This lastest one involving Sharon (Sharon Case) being drugged to believe she is pregnant by the evil Dr. Anderson (Elizabeth Bogush) is about to come off the rails this week on the number one soap opera.

But the question is, just what on earth is Dr. Anderson’s issue?  Who is she truly in a vendetta against?  Why did she kidnap baby Christian and want to make Sage (Kelly Sullivan) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) believe their baby died, meanwhile drug inducing a fragile Sharon while she was supposed to be seeking mental health treatment?

Courtesy/CBS

While we are waiting for Dylan (Steve Burton) to wise up and figure out what is being perpetrated on Sharon, and Nick and Sage, it looks like Sharon will be convinced that she gave birth to this child and raise Christian as her own!  But won’t it eventually be revealed to be Sage and Nick’s … err, Sage and Adam’s (Justin Hartley)?  Some members in the viewing audiences now are thinking that this  story down the line might somehow reunite and intersect “Shadam” – Sharon and Adam, if Sharon were raising Adam’s child, and he found out about it.

But this time, for once, can Sharon rebuke that this baby is hers? Can she be a heroine that will fight back and figure out what has been done to her by this horrific doctor?

Share your thoughts in the comment below on this story below: What or who do you think Dr. Anderson’s vendettta is against?  Would you like to see Sharon figure this out on her own?  Are you angry, hating, confused, or loving this storyline?

Dr. Anderson hates Nick for being this rich little punk that daddy cleaned things up for him when the good [bad] doctor broke her neck years ago at a Newman pool party! ANYONE in Nicks radar will pay! The thing I hate most about this story is Dylan! He is Superman now at the PCPD. FINALLY Paul told him the other day he is NOT a cop! But anyway, Dylan is working on this suck azz story involving Devon and he is figuring things out that no one else can figure out, ie, the GCPD! However, in Dullan’s own life he cannot see that Sharon is being bamboozled? Who in their right mind would let the mother of your baby sit in a facility and accept he is NOT allowed to visit! Those face time chats are a joke!

Oh, yeah, Timmm. Superman, indeed…..and so smart. Such a dunce!!!!. Today, he shouldered his way into Dr. Neville’s place. No civilian can do that and get away with it. That is a violation of someone’s civil rights; even if he were a cop, without probable cause….unless there is a warrant of some kind. The PTB surely get away with a lot, as much as the GCPD…lol.
Then, of course, Sharon ‘had’ the baby. Dr. Anderson can placate Sharon….easily. She is on another planet, full of barbiturates. Will she be able to pacify Dillon? What will be the excuse the doc will give family members about not being able to see the baby? What about lactation? What about the expulsion of ‘after’ birth?….for an entire month!!!!! Sharon has had kids, so she knows the drill, however, she’s in oblivion. Oh, yeah…she needs to remain ‘imprisoned’. If Sharon sees Dillon, he’s so stupid, he’ll accept anything that may be out of the ordinary, and/or whatever the doc feeds him. If the baby were a different race, the doc would explain that away somehow, and Dullard would tilt his head to the side for a nanosecond, making us think….’hey, he’s not buying this…he’s figuring it out”….but, golly gee; nothing concrete in that brain. He will stare for a sec and then nod his head in acceptance. Hey, Timmm, maybe he will surprise us all and figure it out …..well, when elephants nest in trees….we shall see. Bye, luv-ya.

I have to laugh, its like when Sam breaks into these places, most recently at Nicholas’s castle, she pulls out her little tool, inserts it into the hole, Whamo, door open! Is she really that good? PS: Ceecee, get your mind out of the gutter!

Right, Sharon has had two babies so she knows how her body feels after giving birth. Moreover, how is Dr Quack going to make Sharon lactate or rather yet, explain why she is not lactating?
Today, Nicholas and Sage ran into Dr Quack and she started going off the rails about how horrid the Newman family is and she repeated information Sharon gave her during their sessions.
I was waiting for both Nick and Sage to remark upon the fact that she wasn’t acting like a psychiatrist by violating doctor/patient confidentiality but instead those two morons became all defensive and angry.

@Timmm.
Hey, lol. How is my mind in the gutter? I’m talking about Sharon. HaHa….Timmm, my love…this is Y&R…..have you had a few? Kidding. Was my mind in the gutter? Which time? Lol. The gutter makes the world go ’round!!!!! ‘Nite.

@Harry.
Exactly, Harry. A doctor cannot break a patient’s confidentiality….no any, no how. Hippocratic Oath and all that jazz. The doctor WILL prevent everyone from seeing Sharon and the baby, for the obvious reasons. She will take her sweet time. I am just anxiously waiting for the reason she will give. Another nonsensical one, begging for a ‘HUH?’ moment.
Nick’s and Sage’s dander went up because the Newman name was bruised. Poor, poor Newmans! Awwww, Harry! Suddenly, the family has now become Sage’s. How nice….for how long?
This storyline is stupid, sad and depressing. No one is happy; I said this before. My gosh; Christmas is coming!!!!!!!! But, the actors are really doing their best with what is given them. Except for Steve B. I think he’s overdoing it. It seems that he goes in head first, more than is required of him. Just sayin’ I don’t know. He just does not do it for me….same category as Burgess and the other guy, Stitch.

Harry, she has had at least 4 babies, Casey, Caseys missing twin, and Nicks 2. I have watched longer than 50% of this casts real time life! One of the things I liked about it was the story lines were more believable than other soaps. Example, poor girl becomes rich mans wife…while under c pratt, there are at least 3 story lines that are nonsense. .the cast are being great, and our reason for following!! C pratt should go back to the first 2 decades and study the storylines. What a great job was done with alcoholism, marriage, and love. Pratt needs to be locked up with those files until he gets Iit!! Todays world I could give a great real life story of how a man stalks, using so much technology, gps, hacking, lies, all to break a woman just because she stood up to him. He takes years, and at times nearly wins, as the law will not help until she is hurt physically. The law simply says they have not caught up to how to protect against technology.
This is todays world, and y&r have made a mark in taking real problems and bringing them to light to make a difference……that is what we want to see again, not nonsense. we love our cast and want them to continue…but this fan wants pratt to be locked up with the archives until he gets it or step down, or, put someone in there that does get it!

He has to play the script. He doesnt write this crap, hes just acts it out.

@Eileen Hargis.
Really? I did not know that. Thanks for enlightening me.
When we, the audience write a comment, it is logically implied and directed toward the writing….not the actor! What is it that you want me to say, Eileen? Of course, I will criticize idiotic writing and action. You have a happy day.

And to top it off, they’re having sex less than a week after delivery. Rule of thumb is 6 weeks.

Well, always has seemed that Nikki is an airhead, and with Dylan being her
biological son, there has to be something rubbing off, no???

Yep. What Timmm said.

Timmm said my mind was in the gutter. You think so, too, MB? Double LOL.

Carol. yes, of course you’re right–Sharon had four babies including the twins!
So even more reason for her to know that her body would feel like she got hit with a semi truck after giving birth.

Ha! No CeeCee I think your mind is just fine. But I think Timmm’s original post is completely accurate. I don’t know which story I hate more…Nick/Sage/Sharon/Dr./Babyswitch or the Winters’ debacle. Just yuck to both of them.

I know, MB. Just kidding; as is Timmm. I know Timmmloves me….we go back and forth teasing each other.
And, I agree with both of you about the cray cray storylines.

Ha! Paul is not a cop either … at least not a good one anymore.

Why don’t they put Dylan through the academy and actually have a story about the rigors of that? It is so much easier to make him an Insta cop just like Jason Morgan became an Insta hitman. This is crap writing at its finest. Where is my writing job?!

Speaking of Paul, why isn’t he investigating Dr. Anderson with a vengeance about how his sister could just walk out of the mental facility, and maybe (or maybe not) die in Inferno 2? Where’s Christine when you need a pit-bull prosecutor to go after her?

Exactly, Chrystie. There’s a storyline right there. But, according to our dear Su, there are no stories to be had. These writers seem to have a one-track mind, thinking inside the box.

I know, at least on GH they are putting Valerie through the academy. Although, I dont know that “Cadets” go undercover their first night out! No PT, no classroom work? I know, its a soap!

Just remember no matter what stupid stuff goes down Sharon will be the bad guy I swear it has to be personal against the actress that’s why I got so fed up I really tried to watch it but I can’t keep replacing TV’s by throwing my shoes at them.

I completely agree. If they are going to make Dylan InstaCop at least put him through the academy. Another insult to Wisconsin. We are not fans of Chicago sports teams, (we have our own thankyouverymuch) and we require training of our law enforcement. Either Police Academy training or Criminal Justice degrees. We don’t let daddy’s barista son play cop cause he’s bored schlepping coffee. Dylan being a veteran works in his favor to become law enforcement, but the fact that he has PTSD would likely make him ineligible. The Stupid. It burns.

I think this is the most ridiculous story line that has ever been on Y&R because it really truly insults the viewers intelligence I don’t care how crazy sharon is there is no way she cannot tell that she has had a baby without her being totally out of her mind and if she is that much out of her mind then how come her family doesn’t know about it and what family member would not go to see their family member in a mental institution for this long they would break down the door before they would not be allowed to go see them I know I would!

Because he and Sharon decided it would be too dangerous. He was going to go thru the academy; but it changed. LOL

Well, who actually is this writer anyway???

i really dont like how this story line is going its making me not want to watch the show anymore, why would you do this to dylan again and chelese loves adam she knows they slept together she will understand give sage her baby back this is not right and let that dumb ass sharon have her kid sharon sjould of been played out the shows years ago she sickening to watch .

Girl I agree they need to leave Adam alone they are doing to much .let Adam be happy with Chelsea the story line is whack.the baby should be Nick and sage baby .I think everyone need to start likeing Adam more and let someone else play the bad guy role.I think sage and Nick make a great couple.better then him and Sharon.

GOD. PLEASE. MAKE. IT. STOP.

I think this is sick. And I think this can’t go on for a long time I think it needs to come out with a blood test this sucks I have never been so disappointed

Well this how dumb this is Sharon does not know don’t you have milk leaking or other things going on that women have after having a child and you’re telling me Dylan doesn’t realize this either no milk league is none of this none of that and by the way don’t you get a friend afterwards you know your red headed one this is how stupid this whole thing is I love this show but this is good against stupid

this is one asinine storyline – i have lost interest………………….

Me too, very boring storyline. It put me to sleep lol. I will stick with Days Of Our Lives. The storylines are wonderful and acting terrific.

I have watched Y&R since I was 13 teenage please let it end on great note! !!!!

Oh and then the orderlies know that Sharon was never pregnant this is so stupid she had the baby there in the hospital don’t you think people would ask this is also very stupid

Here is my WHY question… Why are we subject to another baby switch game involving Sharon? We had to suffer through that train wreck of a plot involving Victor, Ashley, Adam and who all else when Faith was born. This line of story is redundant and does nothing to serve or develop characters. Rather, it only moves pieces on the game board, only in no real direction. I am growing tired of the near incest and the repeating tales. Give these attractive older (40ish! Not kids!) something real and meaningful to do. Give me some romance and true joy regarding bringing a child into the world. At least allow Sharon to evolve into a stronger woman again. She was once a scrapy young woman, a survivor. Let’s see this come back. Is my Soap Opera Santa listening to me? 🙂

YES to everything you wrote. Thank you.

Double ditto~!~!~ 🙂

Iakovos,

I hear what you are saying. This writer seems to like weak women-he’s already sent Phyllis, Sharon & Sage to Fairview-all in separate sl’s & for different reasons. All of this is less than a year. Why do no men ever crack & get stuck in there? Because women are weak, crazy & needy is what I hear when he does this. He’s also had Hilary held hostage for months-Jack, too, but of course he’s not a woman.

It’s stunning to me how Y&R is showing these decades old s/l plots, like Carol said earlier-do something MODERN!! Current issues. I think a possible terrorist fear would be too heavy, but the cyber stalking is a good idea. How bout instead of kidnapping Sage’s baby or killing Sharon’s, have one of them suffer from postpartum depression & not understand it at first but feel unattached to their baby. Bring some music back like in the Danny Romalotti days. Music never goes out of style. Bring on a few talented artists on & have them do cameo’s performing on the show. Just no more dopplegangers & baby switches. Next Ashley will be pregnant. This show, and some others TBH, pay not attention to age & keep knocking up the almost 40’s (Sage), the over 40’s & 45+’s like Sharon & Christine. They COULD get pregnant at these ages but it’s risky & a slim chance, but then to have them all do so at the same time is ridiculous. The writers seem to not realize age when writing these sl’s. Phyllis is 20 yrs younger than Jack, but wait, as Marco, his story was that Marisa was love of his life-she’s a good 35 yrs younger than he-she must have been 16 when she met him!!! Now she’s w/Noah who is 30+ yrs younger than Marco. They pay no attn to age & such.

I hate this story line with a passion. End it now. Give Sage back her baby, rescue Sharon ad put Dr Anderson in prison. Be done with it.

Love your answer Kelly. Nice and succinct. 🙂
They just keep recycling old plots.

Right? Unreal and tiresome; this story is, Kelly.

I gotta laugh when people same ol’ plots..
After 40-50 years of daily stories there really is nothing left that hasn’t been done.
Anyone have a plot that has never been used ? ..
and can run for at least 4 months are not bore everyone..

But ya, I could give a hoot about Dr. Anderson and Sharon’s freak-out.

Yes, the only way this story can be salvaged is if they end it ASAP and hopefully, have Sharon go against how she has been written time and time again. Please have her realize what Dr Anderson has done and please make her return the baby to Sage.

@su0000.
Well, susu….go ahead and have a good laugh. But, as someone else has mentioned….how old should Cassie be now? And, Mariah? Their twenties? How old is Noah, Faith and now Christian? Sharon has been pregnant four times, albeit Christian is not hers, she was pregnant and lost the baby. Every one of these births was surrounded by drama. Why?
There are plenty of storylines that have yet to be written. They’re just lazy or not have enough of a vast imagination. Bye.

@Harry.
Hello, a real. H,
What if Anderson and Neville are associates, somehow….working together? The bad thing about it would be that Michael’s tenure is a short stint….that’s disappointing. I do not like this, at all.
I hope Knight stays for a long time. Perhaps, ‘they’ will make him a good doctor working for the greater good. His experimental drugs meant for the good of mankind….oh, well! Dreamin’, I’m always dreamin’…LOL.

@Harry:
I KNOW I wrote, “Hello, Mr. H”, but what I got was “Hello a real H”. Go figure, Harry. I hope this correction goes through. I apologize.

Cassie (and Mariah), in real time of what has aired on the show, was born in 1993. That would make them about 22. However, in a seriously screwed up move by the writers, Summer (who was rapidly aged), is now about 21 or 22. We ALL know, because it has been said over and over and over again, that Summer was born AFTER Cassie died, and Cassie was 15 when she died. So that, logically, would put Cassie and Mariah at about age 38. Making Sharon and Nick about 54….making Nikki at least 79, and making Victor about 94. That would be real. We just have to accept that soaps exist in a strange time/space continuum, where adults do not age (heck, All My Children was attempting to say that Erica was 30 in 1993….having been raped at 14, and given birth to 16 year old Kendall), but kids do. Where else could you have 42 year old Gina Tognoni (Phyllis) acting as mother to 36 year old Michael Graziadei (Daniel)? LOL. To beat that, Kassie DePaiva playing Eve on Days of our Lives, is actually two years older than the actress (Karen Moncrieff) who played Eve’s mother many years ago. When Days of Our Lives aged Scotty Banning in 1989, that placed beloved Alice Horton at over 100 years old, as he was her great-grandchild! LOL. There are SO many more bizarre instances of Rapid Aging, where if you work out the timeline using real life logic, they would drive you bonkers. Like EJ on DAYS…he was born in 1997….9 years later, in 2006, he was 30. Will, Sami’s son, was born 2 years BEFORE EJ, in 1995. I could go on and on, and likely will at some point, but not now. 🙂

Has Y & R done a gay story line; or transgender? With all the hype of Caitlin Jenner; someone should have picked that up and ran with it big time. I just joined the Y & R when AMC/OLTL shut down; so don’t know all the back stories. To me the order of birth would be Mariah/Carrie? (I forgot her name already LOL); then Noah; then Faith; and she lost the last one. Dylan sure gets the short end of the stick when it comes to paternity lol

@Wilda.
Hi, Wilda,
Yes, Y&R has attempted to do a gay storyline. Rafe Torres, played by Yani Gellman, was a gay lawyer, a really upstanding, nice guy. Chris Engen, the original Adam Wilson ( now Adam Newman), walked off the stage because he did not want to get touchy-freely with another man. But, this story was not intended to make Adam gay, but to use Rafe for his own dastardly deeds. Enter, Michael Muhney, who had no problem getting involved in a gay relationship. So, Adam had sex with Rafe. But, when Rafe found out Adam’s scheme to blackmail him, I believe Rafe was heartbroken and left. I am not sure if I am remembering the reason for leaving correctly, Wilda. Let’s just say that this attempt at a gay storyline amounted to naught.
Y&R is too wrapped up in using Sharon as a football to introduce any new idea/story to pique our interest. Besides, there are too many audience members, and perhaps, TPTB themselves, to deal with anything ‘gay’……too much sand around in which to bury their heads.

AGREE…HORRIBLE SICK STORY……END IT SOON PLEASE!!!!!

Amen! Its like the whole Neil and Devon story, you knew right from the beginning it would suck and it gores on and on AND then they drug daytime legend Michel E. Knight into this fiasco! End BOTH of these stupid stories!

I agree..let sage have some joy and happiness with her newborn baby that she loves and need..she don’t have a real family! !

I have just got involved, what happen to Sharron real baby? I am so tired of trying to figure this out.

I have to agree I am sick of this storyline. What are the writers thinking, or should I say not thinking. This is the same story as Faith be given to Ashley by Adam. Between dopplegangers and baby stealing Y & R is becoming the same old same old.

I second it!

I think anyone who was paying attention has already figured Dr. Anderson is either the girl who was injured at that pool party, OR at the very least related to her. There was no reason for that made up after the fact tidbit of Nick’s life to come out unless the show was planning on using it one day. Now if they could make her somehow related to that Moxley family as well that would tie all these unrelated characters together to perhaps form a new family rivalry for the Newman to fight beside the Abbotts. The only thing I hope they don’t do is have this Dr. Anderson be one of Ian Ward’s minions.
And like the article states if Sharon raising Adam’s baby get those two characters back into each other lives that will be the only good reason to subject Sharon to yet another stolen baby story—

I like the way you think, Mary. Timmm was actually the first to mention that Anderson was a scorned schoolmate of Nick’…..socially persona non grata, ‘pool’ girl.
The introduction of the Moxleys makes a lot of sense, Mary. I have/had actually been hoping that Judge Moxley was Gabe Bingham’s mother….who is still alive with Jason Thompson’s face, LOL. But, it doesn’t seem to be that way. I won’t give up, though….like a dog with a bone; just like Kiki being Nina’s daughter….it will happen. It’s written in the soap stars.
As far as Sharon? I am still befuddled why everything negative lands on her doorstep. Why her? Poor Sharon. She can’t catch a break. Look to whom she is engaged….the hulk.

I’m on the episodes but not all the way caught up..i know she was given a fake baby bump but it had to be removed..has no one noticed AT ALL??? Is Sharon so high she believes she has a pregnant belly..was the actual notice of pregnancy glossed over so CP can sit behind his desk..look at the ratings numbers and laugh evilly?

Thanks CeeCee I like how you think too– never give up on Kiki being Nina’s daugther, it will come out sooner or later. As for Judge Moxley being Gabe’s mother wouldn’t she have noticed Adam looked like her son? I guess if she hadn’t seen him for a while she might not, but on any soap nothing is out the realm of possibility, like if she had affair with Victor back in the day, maybe Gabe was Victor’s son and she gave the child to the Binghams who friends of hers who had been childless, then Victor found out and destroy the Bingham’s company– now that would be a twist.

@davlestev1.
Hi, dav,
It is confusing, is it not? This baby bump imagery may be one of three things. Sharon may have experienced an hysterical pregnancy, which is a very real psychological malady. This is why she could also feel the baby kick….all in the head. It does happen. Secondly, Sharon is so pumped full of mind-altering drugs that it is what she sees through the power of suggestion….and, thirdly, Anderson put a ‘prosthetic’ bump on Sharon while sleeping. I suppose the good ole doc began getting careless and was slacking, since it appeared to me none of the staff really knows what’s up her sleeve. Hearing that Sharon became distraught and fit to be tied, as reported by the nurse, who had to sedate her, the doc was forced to produce a baby for Sharon….enter, Christian. It also seems that only the other weird nurse, who took care of Christian, knows. I do not understand how stupid these writers think we are. Really? What will they fabricate for the sudden appearance of a baby? The rest of the staff never saw Sharon pregnant. How about the howling of labor pains? The birth? The OBGYN? Is Dr. Anderson so powerfully polarizing? So proficient in all fields and multitasking?…..or, is she drugging the entire facility just to get back at the Newmans? What a farce! My six year old son wouldn’t even buy this drivel! Later.

@Mary SF.
Hi,
Yes, Mary, Elise would have noticed. But, as I stated a couple of weeks ago, I think she is aware of what happened as she has been taking care of Gabe secretly. Lol, Mary. It is all speculation and fantasy on my part. I want Jason Thompson to be the real Gabe, after facial reconstruction, of course.
However, now that I think of it, if Elise gave her illegitimate child away, then, she would not know what Gabe would have looked like. I know…me and my crazy thoughts!!!!

i’m sure Sharon will turn out to be a heroine ,and Dylan her knight ,Dylan will also find out about Neville .he is a good cop.this baby is nicks ,and nick is gong to have to take responsibility for what made dr Anderson go off the rails for what his family did to hers,Sage Sharon and Dylan ARE THE VICTIMS HERE,

Dylan is not a cop. I bet he didn’t even graduate High School, MEG. Yeah, all Dylan needs is chain mail, hauberk and a complete suit of armor; on his steed ( who’s probably smarter than he); lance in hand. He surely fits and looks the part. Poor Sharon.
I think Sage will be the heroine. Why? Because as soon as she sees that baby, her maternal instincts will kick in. And if they don’t? Well, something’s very wrong with TPTB way of thinking. Just sayin’.

Ps. Please forgive me for being a nuisance, but I do not believe Nick is responsible for that deranged doc’s actions. We are all responsible for our own actions. No one is holding her at gun-point to practice crazy medicine. Do we really know the full story here? They are all victims, one way or another.
As far as Dylan, everyone knows about Neville, it was a matter of finding him. If this were real life and Dylan were indeed, a cop? Neville would have recourse in getting out of any trouble because the Neanderthal man barreled his way in. But, because Dylan is a layman, Neville could press charges. Obviously he will not do that since he has much to lose…but, it would serve Dylan right if he went down. Would Dylan get away with all this farce if he were not the chief’s son? In whose world? Lordy, Lord, such inane, senseless, useless storyline.

Dylan shouldn’t even have a gun, as police have, he has PTSD..
remember when he kidnapped Conor and was back in war freaking out cray cray..
Anyways, Dylan is being written as an annoying snoop lol
He has no right to question anybody..
If Dylan came to question me I’d say.. ”sure yah ok, you kidding me, get your pretend cop game out of here go away”
People are more than stupid to even talk with Dylan ahaaa so lame..

Off topic but LOVED the scenes today which transpired between Michael Knight and Steve Burton. I can see that those two also enjoy working with each other.
Burton seemed like Jason Morgan today when he kicked down the door to get to Dr Neville. Neville says to Jason, er, I mean, Dylan, “I don’t appreciate you kicking down my door like a cowboy on steroids.”

@Harry.
Ha, Harry! Truer words were never spoken. Cowboy on steroids, indeed. You cannot get more a’ la Michael Knight than that. I love him.
I must admit, I did see a sort of camaraderie between the two. Happy Thanksgiving.

Sharon is not being drugged to believe “she is pregnant by Dr. Anderson”. She is being drugged by Dr. Anderson so she’ll believe she is pregnant. Watch sentence structure.

I thought maybe Dr. Anderson is doing this because she wants Nick and by having Christian die it might break Sage and Nick up and then Dr. A can move in.

I feel bad for Dylan–second child that is not his. And if the baby is Adam’s-second child of his that he didn’t get to name! But at least he was at the birth.

Hey, Mo. I get it…very clever of you. I think Anderson is doing this because it gives her a sense of power over a very powerful family. What a twisted brain she has. She could be Victor’s spawn, actually. She enjoys playing with the lives of those whom, she believes, have hurt her. Bogush is truly doing an over-the-top job. So good at it, I believe what she says. She is also sort of a plain Jane, which makes the role that much more credible…..always the wall-flower? Just sayin’. Lol.
Unless TPTB humanize Dylan; oil his rusty joints? I feel no pity for him. He gets on my nerves. Thank goodness he left GH before I started watching. Later.

Its weird because its been so long ago and its not like she is ringing a register at Walmart, shes a freakin doctor! Why revenge now? The actress is doing a good job. [Maybe Stitch will take some notes?} Anyway, Steve was good on GH because he was a Robothug, yes one of Sonny’s, I know how you feel about that BUT Jason was never asked to tackle much as Jason Morgan. I liked him. Here with his buddy Jill, he sucks, the character, I mean.

@Mo.
Hi, Mo,
Yes, that would be the way for Dylan to go…the Police Academy. However, Su brought up an excellent point. Dylan suffers PTSD, as Su said. Realistically, he should never be able to join the force. What would he do every time he suspects someone of wrong doing? Shoot first and ask questions later? He would be declared mentally unstable because of it.

Mo, that reminds me of an old Groucho Marx joke. “This morning I got up and discovered an elephant in my pajamas How he fit into my pajamas I will never understand.”

LOL

It would make the story more interesting if Sharon did believe she were pregnant by Dr. A. 😉

I like Dylan a bit more since he’s been with Sharon, but having him play Superman is so ridick. Overall though, I do find him boring. He either needs to go back to the coffee house, enroll in the police academy, get his PI license, or quit being the go-to man for crime. At least Marissa and Luca haven’t been on-screen lately. Of course, now I say it, they will be.

I just continue to hope that Y&R survives Chuck Pratt. He is a menace to soaps. This story is so awful I can hardly bear to watch it. The only good thing this soap has going for it is Justin Hartley (Adam) and these writers stick him jail instead of finding a way to show that someone else hit and killed Delia and that Adam just ran over her scarf later.

Absolute sense that makes, right, Jenny? But, I think Adam was jailed just so the bosses could harvest our sympathy by the beatings he’s getting in there. LOL. As you say, I agree that ‘thing’ with the scarf happened just that way.

I wouldn’t dare second guess Chuck Pratt . . . but would love for Sage to get her Christian back. Good must win occasionally – Lord knows we need a win these days with the world falling apart.

The only reason I’m still hanging on is Adam & Chelsea. If they get ruined by this baby plot, I will be out of here. It’s pretty clear to me that they have zero respect for the character Sharon. She is nothing but a plot point and a joke to make their new pet Sage the lead heroine . It’s not lost on me that this newbie gets Nadia’s theme played for her over and over again as if I’m supposed to care. Day after day of mourning. Meanwhile, what kind of meaningful scenes does Sharon get? Nothing.

Elise is her mother

And Victor is her father.

Ewwww. DR….That means Sage is sleeping with her brother? Even TPTB would not go that far. Excuse me while I go throw up. Lol.
What’s more of a fitting twist in the plot would be if Gabe were still alive as Elise’s and Victor’s son. Elise gave him up for adoption and the Bingham’s adopted Gabe. After the accident which killed Delia, Gabe had plastic surgery…..and, I bet Sage knows all this. Jason Thompson will play Gabe, Lol…I know, I know, I sound like a broken record. Forgive me?

But that would make her sister to Nick and Adam! Yikes

This is the second storyline concerning a baby switch for the character of Sharon 2009 the Faith story. Everyone of my friends who still watch absolutely hate the show so I told them quit bitching and quit watching it like I did do not want to hear it. Case has been getting crap stories for years but she still has a paycheck so she probably just laughs and says it is a job. The reason I quit is because it is insulting to people with mental illness and I also know somehow after all is said and done Nick will be blaming all this mess on Sharon. I now know why Jessica Collins/Avery left the building.

Actually it is her third stolen baby story– Faith was stolen from her and given to Ashley. Mariah was stolen from her by Ian Ward nurse follower, now Sharon has been given a baby stolen from Nick and Sage. I don’t hate this story, I accept soaps repeat stories all the time, how can you not after forty plus years, but what makes it absurd is the same type of story keeps happening to the same characters.

Exactly. Surely we can do more with Sharon’s character than make her have these traumatic birth stories.

You could say fourth if you consider Cassie as well.

I don’t like that they are doing the story with Sharon as she had her baby stolen and given to Ashley fairly recently. And that Dylan will now have a second child taken from him.

Why would you feel anything for a character Sage who has been on a year in a forced relationship with the character of Nick and she is getting tons of air time every recap I read she is on just like Dylan still has his nose in everybody’s storyline. When Ashley lost her baby and still thought she was pregnant she never left the ranch to see a Doctor. I mean would Superman Dylan not check with her Doctor before she admitted herself to the hospital would the Doctor not do a follow up after the miscarriage . Oh well as everybody says Pratt wants Sharon crazy!

The stories they have going on right now are insulting. One minute you have characters who come across as Sherlock Holmes than minutes later these same characters are dumb as dirt.

I am so sick of Sharon being thrown under the bus. She’s being held captive and abused. I’m sick of Pratt’s perverse ideas regarding mental illness. BiPolar Disorder does not make you insane. It’s highly treatable yet YR likes either abusing Sharon or treating her like a pariah.

It’s like what they are doing to Elizabeth Webber on GH. Here you have two characters that were LONG established on their prospective shows only to be tossed aside in favor of those that have been on less (i.e., Phyllis and Sage for Y&R and Sam and Carly for GH). It sickens me.

Carly was on GH before Elizabeth. Carly came to Port Charles in 1996 and Liz came in 1997. You can have Sam, though. She came a whole 6 year later. If you can’t tell that’s sarcasm. Sage being favored over Sharon when Sharon has been on Y&R a LOT longer is nowhere near the same as someone who was on before Liz and one who came 6 years later, but has been on since. Not even close to being the same argument.

I don’t care for this storyline at all either. It seems Y&R writers recycle storylines a lot lately. Are the writers, producers, and directors assuming their audience isn’t paying attention. Wake up we are! I’m tired of Sharon being victimized by the Newman’s, becoming their collateral damage. The character (Sharon) use to be strong when she was with Nick until Cassie died and Nick turned his back on her. This character went downhill after that. Sharon needs to be made strong again. Nick is a carbon copy of Victor just not ruthless like Victor. Victor used Sharon for his motives when he married her. It wasn’t because he was in love with her. The only reason Victor doesn’t get along with Adam is because Adam is very much like him. When he sees Adam he sees himself. Just think if those two could come together and be on the same side just once, Victor might see what Adam is really made of when it comes to business. Maybe Victor will start to respect Adam just a little. Victor thinks everybody is out to get him. Should Victor be worried, since “what goes around, comes around”? Umm.. Y&R writers are you reading any of this? You have a lot of cleaning up to do!

You are right, Lexie. Nick is a moron, whereas Victor is not, he is just vile and does everything in the name of family whereas Nick’s motives are down south.

So many characters need an overhaul. So sad.

Very simple. JFP did this storyline on GH. It is called recycle.

hi Beth..
that (type) story has been used to death on all the soaps..
Babies are drama tools ..
ALL the soaps are total ”recycled”
I highly doubt any writers could write a plot that is not worn out..

I don’t know if any of you realize this but Chuck Pratt wrote for Melrose Place in the 90’s. Almost every one of his stories are direct rip offs of the plots he told on that show. Sharon’s “baby” very similar to the Jo’s baby is dead and then re-discovered almost a year later. The Dr. Anderson character is almost a direct rip off of Dr. Kimberly Shaw character. All these complaints about how tired everyone is of the stories and here Y&R is still the #1 show and gaining in viewership. Apparently all those complaints are not being listened to because the numbers are STILL growing. Don’t get it twisted. I think the story is beyond ridiculous. Nevermind that Sharon has to be WAY beyond child bearing years but how about the evil doctor being the only one on staff at a HUGE mental facility. In those environments you never see just one doctor. Nevermind receive all those mind altering drugs. Dylan is so stupid to not even recognize all the things wrong. You would think he would tire of being lied to by people. And Mariah, doesn’t she even care about her mother’s condition? She was the only one who knew the entire truth and she hasn’t even visited, or attempted to visit her “mom”. I need Mariah to get in there and kick that sorry excuse of a doctor to the curb. Dylan can’t save a lady in a wheelchair but Mariah can save the world.

If ONLY Pratt would do Melrose Place rip-offs on this show!! His Melrose Place was serious water cooler talk back in the day!! It was fun and fresh, and campy, and soapy, and had viewers on the edge of their seats. I don’t get why Pratt, who has done really great work like that in primetime, cannot do the same in daytime. So many things just don’t make sense. Why the Sage adoration???? This is a character connected to no one, and in under a year, she has snagged two of the show’s leading men, had a baby supposedly die, gets Emmy reel scenes on an almost daily basis, gets the show’s iconic theme song played in alternate versions for her. What’s her last name on the show? Does anyone even know?? And Why the Dylan hero worship? I feel REALLY bad for Steve Burton!!! On GH, and on this show, he just did his job. At first viewers loved him, but then thanks to the constant shoving of the character down our throats, and his bizarre insertion into EVERY single plot as the savior (even though he was a brain damaged murderer), viewers turned on the ACTOR, instead of the character, or the writers. Now they are doing the same thing with Dylan. Settle the pace a bit, have him go into the Police Academy, and then realistically give him a reason to be running around town like he is jacked up on Kryptonite. And I can’t even believe what the writers keep doing to Sharon. They must REALLY hate Sharon Case over there to keep throwing her under bus after bus after bus. She admirably plays whatever story they throw at her, somehow managing to salvage the often times disgusting and disturbing plot twists they foist on her character. There was a time when she was an Emmy winning industry darling, and her character was a leading heroine on the show. But before we all cdrucify Pratt, let’s not forget that his brand of shlock daytime writing has serious precedents set by the man that so many praise…that being Mr. Bill Bell. Let not any of us forget the absurd storyline from 1991 in which Lauren was pregnant by Scott, but managed to avoid him for 9 months in the same city, and he didn’t even know she was pregnant….and then she gave birth, and whacko Sheila (Kimberly Shaw the first, if you will), was able to switch her dead baby with Lauren’s baby, etc. etc. And Sheila has been hailed as one of the greatest villainesses of the daytime genre, even though the writing was complete and utter plot driven crap, there was never any motivation or reason for the character’s over the top villainous actions, and her snarly acting style was seriously one-note (although Kimberlin Brown did what was asked of her in the role). If we all look at this realistically, Pratt is really not doing anything different than Bill Bell did on Y and R…and he should!

As far as Steve Burton is concerned, he is Jill Farren Phelps pool boy and can do no wrong in her eyes. That is her one request of Pratt that he feature him in EVERYTHING. He is one of the few actors that will do Ms Phelps bidding. Bill Bell did some crazy storytelling but he managed to pace it very slowly. I remember when I first started watching Y&R my joke was I could miss a week of the show, before DVR’s, and it would still be the same day and perhaps all the characters would be having lunch by then. Now we get 25 plot devices thrown at us in one day and they are NEVER solved. In fact they assume the viewers forget a lot. What Pratt does is treat his audience like idiots. He has said before that he hates daytime drama and its viewers and writes solely for his own pleasure. His current story with Sharon Newman is proof that he thinks viewers are idiots. Sharon is way past child bearing years and self committed herself to an asylum. She knew she wasn’t pregnant when she went in and then suddenly she advanced in pregnancy some 9 months in less than a month. Then some strange doctor who manages to leave the asylum and practice at Memorial Hospital without any other doctor on duty back at Fairview. I hate the story because there is no reason for this story. The Dr Anderson character is evil just to be evil. No explanation. No background. Just a baby stealing, drug pimping psycho with NO reason. As for Sage, her last name is Warner. I like her character but lately she has been overacting with the loss of baby Christian. Typical Pratt behavior – overkill. I generally have liked Y&R in the past because they told detailed stories. Now it’s just showoff material with characters no one cares about. If it wasn’t for Justin Hartley (Adam) and Melissa Clare Egan (Chelsea) I probably would consider skipping the show altogether.

Dylan could meet up with Valerie (GH) at the police academy. Actually some crossover scenes between Y&R and GH might be fun. Don’t think it’s been done before.

i know nick s been busy with his own personal problems but why hasn t he stopped by the hospital once to visit the mother of his children, has nt faith expressed that she misses her mother? ….. another example of pratt s plot over characterization!
…furthermore with avery gone, and dylan being propped as the new younger paul williams, the character suffers from overkill. time for dylan to be off our screens for a bit!
at the end of the day, nick and sharon belong together not dyaln and sharon. bs

Sharon has a no visitors order that Dr. A coerced her into signing. That’s why you see her communicating with Dylan online. It’s done so people won’t see she’s not pregnant.

Agreed, damien!!

! can put this quite simply,,Bill Bell is rolling in his grave,,,,If he could see this train wreck now..What they have done to this once power house of a soap opera is down right shameful ,,how any writer or team of writers who have written this show in the last 7 years can hold there head up and be proud of one storyline they have dished out is beyond me…steve burton must shake his head in disgust when he gets each script..sharon case must be feeling so much deja view she probably feels drugged for real…lets not even go on the neil and hillary crap they are shoveling this way,,,,devon is a waste of air time,,,thank goodnes for justin heartly ,,im sure for many viwers he is the only reason to tune in,, ,

Amen, Randy. I agree with you on everything except Steve Burton. That dude left GH to follow his friend JFP and get the schedule he wanted. He got everything he wanted.

Hi Randy. I wish I had read your post before I wrote mine!! I agree with several of your points, but please read my post regarding Bill Bell. I hope you will agree somewhat with what I wrote. I also touch on Steve Burton, and Sharon Case, in ways I think you will agree with.

So that’s it!! I do recall that the fellow who wrote Y & R was named Bell. It is now
this Chuck Pratt, you guys say. Hmm. Explains every thing.

Ugh. How many times can Sharon be mixed up in a messed up/switched at birth story?

Let’s see – there was Mariah being kidnapped and raised by a cult follower for many years. Then there was her baby being switched with Ashley’s. Not to mention giving away Cassie. Now this?! As if Sharon even needs another child. She is probably the least deserving right there with Victoria who can never wait to get back to work once the baby is out.

What a waste for Sharon Newman and Sharon Case. Can’t she play sane anymore?

Well, that is what Sharon is used for, babie mess up stories..
She is the designated messed up freak out character.. it is her role since 2000 up LOL

Sharon is bipolar and there is no cure..
Sharon is just a dropped pill away from freak-out anytime they need a cray cray story Sharon is on!

Personally. I think Sharon should demand a blood test at the hospital where it can be done in a real lab. She should also let Nick know about the fact that she doesn’t remember being in labor. Nick and Sage can also have blood drawn. Then they will get Christian Andrew Newman back with his real parents. Please make this happen Sharon doesn’t deserve to be blamed for this. She is innocent, she was heavily drugged. Very out of it from the amount of drugs Dr. Anderson has been forcing her to take.Neil needs to have the doc charged with negligence in taking care of Patti. Mariah knows it is to soon, even if Sharon was Pregnant.

Good premise, Bobbi. But, Sharon is so enraptured, so over the moon for finally having a baby in her arms, she’s not thinking of anything except for ‘her’ bundle of joy. She is still not lucid….still under the influence……even to notice that her body is not in concert with the natural phenomenon of giving birth and/or its aftermath.
Besides, at this point, there is no reason to question anything…..as far as she knows, nothing is awry.
Furthermore, Anderson is her savior, not a villainess.
We can only hope that the time or reckoning won’t come soon enough.

@Dylan.
Thank you, Dylan. Despite the typos which autocorrect makes; I appreciate the fact that I did make my point.

So beyond stupid. The show should be called the young and the vengeful. Every single thing on this show is based on revenge. There is nothing that is reasonable on the show. Nobody acts like anybody would act in real life. Everything has become totally stupid.

I have been watching this since I was a kid and it’s
Dumber than it has ever been. I don’t expect a soap opera to be realistic. But it would be nice if on occasion people acted like people in real life might. Women who should be intelligent are morons. There are couples on the show that nobody gives a crap about like Abby and Ben. No one light meal with the Hillery and now we have to deal with them again? The writers couldn’t care less about the actual characters. I understood Neil wanting to get some revenge but they took it so far and destroyed the character. And the writers obviously have no idea how to write strong women. What in the world happened to Filos? She came out of her coma With an entirely different personality. The actress portraying her is really good and could portray Phyllis the way Michelle Stafford did.

Now we have yet another baby switch? Come on! how stupid. We’re supposed to believe that Sharon doesn’t realize she did not give birth?

I started watching General Hospital after some of the young and the restless best actors went to that show. It is so much better written. There are strong women and many of the characters are more realistic. People on that show do things that make sense. Many women are written as mature and not pathetic and love sick like YR. I could go on and on. I will stop here. It’s just really, really tragic to see how bad the writing on YR has become. But that said, I think ratings are up and so I imagine we will continue to be subjected to idiotic characters, weak women and stupid storylines. 🙁

I agree with many of your points. But, strong women on GH?!? LOL. Women on GH are narcissistic, desperate mob molls who have no value or worth aside from whichever mobster du jour they are sleeping with. These women are so pathetic, they extol the virtues and sing the praises of some mobsters (Sonny, Jason, Johnny, etc etc), while simultaneously calling others bad (Julian, Carrrlos, Paul, etc). Carly appears strong, but she is really just loud and obnoxious. Sonny threatened to murder her two years ago. Jason repeatedly threatened to have Sam rubbed out back in the day. I guess that passes for foreplay with these brain dead women. Monica is a strong woman. She has had four children, some biological, some not, and they have ALL died, some more than once. But that’s it for strong women on GH. Well, and Alice, but she is a wrestler. Naturally she is strong.

Add Epiphany for a stronger character.

Can you tell me what the deal is with the girl and the pool party incident. I don’t remember ever watching at that time that happened

It wasn’t shown on-screen. Just mentioned by Sharon. As I recall there was a pool party that Nick threw. There was alcohol. A girl I guess was diving in the pool or fell in and broke her neck. Victor smoothed things over with the cops and the girl’s fam–I guess by throwing money around.

It must have happened on a Saturday….. when the soaps don’t air, and no one ever mentions the word “weekend”. In my memory, Sharon was occupied in high school being raped by Matt Clark, fending him off, falling in love with Nick, etc. If the show needed a villain from that era, why not tie it into history? Joe Clark even has the same last name as Matt Clark, for goodness sake. Soaps have such rich history, these writers do not need to make it up!!

Now I remember, I think the girl was jumping into the pool from the balcony or something like that.

I keep waiting for them to reveal that Joe Clark is Matt’s bro. I didn’t watch back then, but why don’t they reveal that? Or why doesn’t Sharon say, Clark, are you related to…? Or when they were investigating Joe Clark for Avery’s rape, why didn’t it come up about his brother, if it is his brother? I don’t get it.

This is was a recent made up event by this writing team, — it came out when Nick was going to take Faith away from Sharon for the millionth time and Sharon used this detail to blackmail Nick into allowing her to share custody. At the this pool party, Nick dared or encouraged this girl to jump from the balcony into the pool. She was seriously injured and his father covered it up and paid off the family as well. We are assuming that Dr. Anderson is that girl, or at least someone related to her, but as of yet, the show hasn’t said.

Hate this storyline. I’m a labor nurse and this whole line is dispicable. The writers need help. There is nothing realistic about any of this. So disappointed!

Well, Theresa..
Soaps are highly fictional, far out stuff / entertainment.
Soaps are grownup fairy tales, and all the characters live in soap land.. lol

Doc. Anderson is a so-called professional doctor and isn’t honest, ethical or moral in any way.
The Doc. (forget his name) who was working at Memorial is now fired, is dishonest, unethical, immoral and practicing medicine illegally AND from a motel yet!
Sharon is a mother to Faith, yet given the storyline of victim as having bi-polar (which is not really being depicted accurately at all) in an institution for the mentally ill, yet being kept ‘captive’ and drugged. She’s now supposed to have had a baby, but having delivered previously would know she hadn’t since her tush isn’t ‘feeling’ like she delivered. Like a woman would know that for sure.
Dylan is ?replacing the police force of GC seemingly single-handed these days. The police chief has everyone and their dog reporting the mundane to him, (doesn’t he have more to do than be a gossip centre?) thus has seemingly forgotten about being the owner of Crimson Lights.
So, here we have professionals being degraded, (even the two nurses of the Devon, Neil, Hilary storyline are stealing both medications, babies and assisting with kidnappings.) and being represented as evil, immoral individuals so unlike in the real world.
The police are being dissed totally with the Dylan plot, as if they can’t/don’t solve crime.
Sharon is being made to play victim (so like the usual Pratt make the woman out to be useless, incompetent in various way, criminal, etc) with mental illness not being depicted in a respectful manner at all.
Seems to me nearly every single character now on YR is incompetent, evil, nasty, adulterous, devious, criminal. Who on the cast now is acting anywhere near true to their original characters? Maybe Victor, although he’s grown more evil in his controlling behaviours over the past few years.
Really miss the old YR where it would have gentle scenes, no over the top dramatic scenes like on the prime time crime shows, reduce the immorality among professionals for sure. Everything that’s going on seems like it’s disjointed from the past months in so many ways and like the writers just get together and say: What craziness shall we do next! Stop the craziness is what so many fans want.
Find it’s impossible to keep track of where so many of the characters are emotional, as they flip from week to week.
Just my opinion, for what it’s worth.

Yeah, miss the old one also. For much the same reasons, illogical stuff all through the hour and a half. I mean get rea lll.

One correction to my comments above: Intended for the comment about “forgetting he own Crimson LIghts” is Dylan. And it seems he has forgotten. Also, where is Esther, now she’s working at C.L. she’s never seen at all!

I was thinking that yesterday with the scene at CL–that Esther should have been in the background working, but it’s probably cheaper to have an extra.

Since when does a woman give birth to a baby and to drugged up not to feel it or be there for it???? REALLY?? FIRE THE WRITERS PHELPS AND PRATT!!!! They need to go YESTERDAY!!! THEY DON’T HOW TO WRITE OR PRODUCE OBVIOUSLY!!!! THE ACTORS ARE DOING THE BEST WITH WHAT THEY GOT!!!
BUT, THESE LAME STORIES THE WRITERS KEEP THROWING AT THEM I’M SURPRISED IT DOESN’T PUT THE ACTORS TO SLEEP!!!! GET RID OF PHELPS AND PRATT PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi SALLY..
The Y&R ratings keep going up and up..
Seems millions are loving Y&R..
Pratt is going nowhere..

Su, sweetie. Let me understand this. It was not too long ago when you sang GH’s praises and threw dirt in Y&R’s eyes. You more or less said you despised Sharon, and not too keen on the soap. Correct me if I am wrong, ok? Which is it? Are you a turncoat? Lol. See, susu. I genuinely love Y&R, not because it’s number 1….but, because I always have. I could care less about the ratings. They mean nothing. I do not even believe the ratings.
As far as soapland being the home for adult fairy tales? That’s all fine and well, however, fiction is ALWAYS based on reality. Any English Lit professor will tell you that. There is just so much a writer gets away with writing syfy/fantasy.
You may sell that rubbish to yourself, Suzie Q, but not to many of us. I, as anyone else, needs the escape that entertainment may provide….for myself? It needs to be within reason. As I mentioned above (and as Theresa , a medical professional, has stated, no woman ever to grace this earth has given birth so silently, unless one is under anaesthetic, (C-section, as myself)…..yet, I still went through 6 hours of labor before the surgery.
I will accept anything TPTB do, but I have to understand it….has to make sense. I question its validity, within a modicum of reason. We are dealing with real people, in real stories, written by soap writers, not Steven Spielberg.
As Mary SF says: she is used to the recycled stories, accepts them; however, stop crucifying Sharon with these stolen babies theory/plot. What is the point of storytelling, if we know the outcome. No mystery, no suspense….soapland never was this drastic. Bye.

Cee Cee, as usual, your post is thoughtful, rational, and well written. 🙂 I have just realized that all we can do with Su’s posts is laugh them off. He/she only types posts to rile people up, make them mad, and tick people off. I realized this just recently, when he/she made a post on another thread about the GH character Levi Dunkelman being well written. LMAO. That character was arguably the most pointless, worst written character in the history of the entire soap opera genre, and every post from every viewer on every message board echoed that sentiment…except Su. I actually have newfound respect for Su. He/she is bracing and polarizing, and definitely succeeds in getting people talking and typing.

Right, Sharon can’t tell she has had a baby. GIVE ME A BREAK! There are always painful signs. INCLUDING sore boobs that fill with milk. Sharon is too crazy to realize she has none?

I don’t know if you would say she is crazy, but sometimes when a a person wants to believe something is true their bodies will begin to manifest that truth. It is possible the character Sharon body is displaying those signs to Sharon, even if the script isn’t saying that directly, as viewers it is reasonable assumption to make. It is the same one we had to make when Ashley “went into labor” and thought she gave birth, to Faith. Plus with the drugs and perhaps even being brainwashed by that doctor it is plausible for now Sharon would believe she gave birth. But hopefully, the writers will have Sharon clue in at some point, and when she figures out this isn’t her baby, let’s all pray the writers will allow this character to come clean and not try to keep a baby that isn’t hers.

Tess, we are talking about a mentally, dissociative disorder. And, there is such a thing as an hysterical pregnancy. As Mary says, the body starts functioning as the mind dictates. However, Sharon does have lucid moments. It is during those moments that she should not have a few questions for the doctor, but also questioning why she does not feel the painful ramifications of having had a baby. Mariah and Dylan are both novices when it comes to babies…..they are oblivious. Anderson is still managing to drug her , soooo…..
The idea is being carried too far. How could Sharon not have any memory of the birth? She had the baby in her sleep? These are all questions/facts what will eventually arise….how to explain, though?
Tired of it, and want it over. Poor Sage; poor Sharon, as the mothers. Four hearts broken. And, if we include Adam? Five. I think these writers went to THE SCHOOL OF ‘LE MARQUIS DE SADE’.

Pu lea sse, get rid of them and clean this story up!!!

I think this Dr. Anderson is related to the girl Nick raped years ago. Maybe she’s a sister or relative.
I so wish the writers, for once, would let a female be a heroine and figure something out. How much fun would THAT be to watch Sharon figure it out and pretend in order to catch the doc? But these writers are so predictable. And God knows how long it will take for all of this to unfold to the point that one of the characters involved figures out who Christian belongs to.

I miss Gloria.

I do too. I’d take a storyline with Gloria over this current dreck any day.

Me too. Often comment that on Twitter. And miss Jess, Beth too.

Beth is headed back for the holidays, yea!!!

AMEN! Gloria is who got me hooked on the show in the first place.

HIp hip hooray! I’ve been missing those jangling necklaces and bracelets, those bulging eyes, those tiger print dresses…oh, Glo. You’ve been under-appreciated!

I wish to correct an earlier comment Sharon has not had two babies, she has had four (that I can remember) they are Cassie, her twin Mariah, Noah, and Faith. I have to say the whole baby switching thing is about played out
though and as for the not so good Dr. Anderson as to her motives don’t know/don’t care I’m just ready to see her admitted as a patient at Fairview already, although it has to be the worst mental health facility to ever exist even in a soap. People seem to break in and out without any security personnel even noticing. Honestly I love Y&R but sometimes it feels like we as viewers are expected to suspend disbelief just a little too much.

Sharon has been pregnant 4 times, Perren: Cassie and Mariah; Noah; Faith, and her latest pregnancy with Dylan, where she miscarried.

I beg to differ. This mental health facility looks like Johns Hopkins compared to the ones on General Hospital, where patients can roam the halls freely, cavort in each other’s rooms, come and go as they please, have weapons of choice at their disposal, and bite people’s ears off.

Dylan…back to Su wanting to raise hackles…I thought about this a while back, especially with the Levi quote. I did bite the other day and did ask why did she watch soaps anyway since her “tastes” see to run counter to the spirit of our “love in the afternoon” stories. No reply.

Sharon will only be raising this baby until his eyesight goes bad. Then all hell will break loose and Sharon will end up in the same crazy nut house. Chelsea will dump Adam, Dylan will dump Sharon and here we go again. Sorry, I don’t agree with the match-up. Adam’s fire is with Chelsea.

Excellent point, Tess. Wow! How true!!!!! If Christian is, indeed, Adam’s, his vision may be compromised by the congenital disease. Good one!!

Tell me, does anyone reading this actually know any families that have been through ANY of this junk? NO

That’s why it is a soap- not real life..
that’s why when people’s lives get unbelievably crazy messed up they say ”I think I’m living in a soap opera” … lol

If Sharon gave birth, surely she would feel some residual pain, soreness. And after you give birth, your stomach doesn’t go back to pre-baby. There are tell-tale signs and Sharon having given birth three time previously would know (even if she was drugged the first time). Is the same writer also writing Abby on Days giving birth to a way premature baby in a cabin and it survives okay?

Is Dr. A going to stop drugging Sharon now?

Not only all that, Mo. But there is the after birth ‘flow’ for about a month, off and on.

And what about when Sharon wants to breastfeed and can’t because there’s no milk. Or when she goes to her ob/gyn and says, I didn’t miscarry after all!!! Nah nah nah. Or when another ob/gyn checks her over and says you didn’t just give birth. Where’d you get that baby from? Is Dr. A going to say she delivered the baby? And it couldn’t have been delivered vaginally as Sharon would have had to participate and she was drugged and for a C-section there would be an incision. So many loose ends.

@Mo.
Hi, Mo.
Lactation was actually the first thing I mentioned. She should be feeding the baby immediately. She should be ‘leaking’ by now. Doesn’t she realize that?
There would not only be a scar with a Caesarean Section, there would also be pain and be on her back for a time. I have had three C-sections; trust me, I know…lol. This is soooo ridiculous. I want to bang my head against the wall and grit my teeth in frustration.

I agree with you

PS.
The doc will probably also say, she has been giving Sharon pills to dry out her milk

Lol, Mo. Funny you should mention Abby. There were about fifty of us gathered at my parents’s house yesterday. All the women….(friends and family) watch Days. My sister’s sister-in-law’s comment was, “yup, Abby had a premie that weighed about thirty pounds.”
How realistic was that? This was her first baby?….it surely came out sooooo easily considering the rustic ambiance.
I have said it many times before; Sharon’s predicament is offensive to us and to the actress. This, among others, is DICK AND JANE storytelling.

So many serials — daytime or primetime (Shondaland)– seem to rely on crackpot characters and crazy plot lines for over-the-top moments, they forget the true characters and the kind of stories the genre tells best. Shows like SCANDAL, HOW TO GET AWAY… even daytime left-of-centers like PASSIONS and DARK SHADOWS… cannot sustain themselves on idiot tales.

And it seems most of the shows you mentioned are all from ABC. Not very Disney like.

I don’t know what’s more heinous, the plot or the acting. Everyone involved seems to be sleep walking through this story and rightfully so. BUT, next to Amnesiac Hilary this is Shakespeare.

Very stupid!!!! How rhe heck does she not know rhat she had a baby.. Being a mom …you know.. B.. When Nick and Sage see the baby.. Duhhh i am sure they will recongnize him as it only has been 2 weeks since he did not pass away… I would know my child… Mariah knew she was not pregnant.. This is gonna drag on for months.. Bad story line.. They all look like morons… This my only soap i watch… Dont drag this out give him back to parents… Sharon lied….

Kim, today DR Anderson told Mariah that Sharon’s doctor was wrong when she told her she had suffered from a miscarriage.
Mariah just nods her head stupidly. It’s kind of hard to be wrong about a miscarriage.
What I hate about this story is that it makes everyone involved look incredibly stupid.

.. true fiction..
She surely would notice she is not sore
and
not able to breastfeed ..
LOL gotta luv it..

Hi, Kim,
Mariah did know Sharon miscarried. However, it was later confirmed by Anderson, I believe, that Sharon conceived again. Remember she was timing her sexual encounters with Dylan so she could get pregnant? The good doc took advantage of Sharon’s mental instability and ran with it. So, Mariah believed her mother was pregnant again. Isn’t it amazing how all these events just happened and fell into place at just the right moment. Complete manipulation and highjacking by the writers.

I had forgotten. Harry is right. Anderson did say Sharon never miscarried. I remember now. Sharon did lie to Mariah saying she had conceived again….but that was way back when. It is so hard to keep all these stories/lies aligned. Lol.

Is this a do over for Faith?

This is sick to do someone like this don’t care about watching this anymore. why dont you shut down the show if your going to make it that sick. You all don’t know by doing seen like this could happen in real life. i dont care about this show anymore.

I hate this storyline. I think Nick truly loves Sage and I want to see them together. Sharon is a screwoff and needs to find out on her own and give that baby back to Nick and Sage. She should get the correct mental treatment she needs because if she doesnt, and tries to pass off the baby as hers………….Dylan will find out it is Nick’s……….and that will be the end of Sharon. Nick will not love her ever, ever, again even as a friend. As far a Dr. Anderson, she is in love with Nick. That is my theory and knows she cannot ever have him. This is tearing my heart out for Sage. Please give her her baby back.

I am watching less and less because it is so dumb. Please…..get back on track. This show has lost its class!

Get rid of that dr anderson .let devon have hillary .

so, this is the young girl that fell off Nicks father’s roof. This is a revenge plot. I could tell from the little talk in the hallway that there is a past. Its not about Sharon at all, Sharon is a victim. This will blow up. Watch the baby have Adams eye problem.

After reading all these comments, not one is at all complimentary except for the actors doing a great job with story lines which do not match their previously developed characters in most cases, i have a question.
What are the qualifications of those who are actually writing the scripts. Are they all under say 30 and have no clue of the history of the show. Do they ever actually watch the show itself? Or maybe they just all sit down, don’t care anything other than churning out a new plot which is not really attached to the last one. Remember the fire? Well, that’s all forgotten except for Stitch being in hospital for awhile as he lusts over Ashley all the while planning to marry Abby. How truly stupid is that plot. And now with Lily begin seduced again by Joe, what about her children, who she’s always saying that she’s got to consider the twins! She’s always flitting around without them now. Guess they’ll end up being with an evil nanny who is related to Dr. Anderson.
Heck, I could write for YR now!

Soap writers under 30?!?!?! LOL. Most of them are collecting Pensions already!

LOL, Dylan. I think these writers must have lived through such sedate, dull and uneventful youth, that they now live it vicariously through their fantastical writing.

I think Sharron needs to detox these drugs an d figure out she did not give birth.

there is more to lactating and other issues when you give birth. lets get real here.

That is exactly what I implied when I said, “the aftermath” of birthing a child. Of course, there’s a lot more that involved with the body…..goes without saying. No need to patronize. So, I think all of us ‘got real’, Katy….not just you. I am sure most of us women on these boards have had babies.

Should read: …a lot more that IS involved with the body….

Ok I must of missed the day Adam became Christians father and does Sage know.

I think Dr Anderson has something to do with Nicks past. Maybe a sister of the girl from the ranch years ago. I think she is out for Nick.

I hate it’s taking so long to free Adam and clear his name all these other things have come and gone why does Adam’s 3 have to be drug out so long and Dylan is Danny that he’s not realizing what’s going on with Sharron I do hope Sharron is the heroin and finds out that Dr Anderson is fishy and where is patty and please let Hillary in the wrong get back together

I would like to see Sharon fight back and eventually remember (once those drugs wear off) that she lost her baby and then she find out WHO Christian is and then SHE is the one who returns him to Nick and Sage and then it cleans the slate (for now anyway) with The Newmans so she can get a better story but of course Chuck Pratt will NEVER EVER let that happen. What if Dr. Anderson is Nick’s half sister (product of Elise and Vic’s affair) and this is REVENGE and she has known all along who she is and has been DENIED her birthright? Just a thought-She may think she is helping Sharon right a wrong when Nick went nuts about Schummer…LOL
