THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS: Lily Has Sex With Joe! Is This The End Of LANE?

This week on The Young and the Restless, a reactive Lily (Christel Khalil) continues to mistrust her husband, Cane (Daniel Goddard) and his intentions towards Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman).
After Cane and Lauren shared one kiss that both their significant others Michael (Christian LeBlanc) and Lily became aware of, Lily has been on the edge once again. When she suspects, and has some video proof on her laptop that Lauren came to visit Cane at his GCAC hotel room, Lily insists that after Lauren arrived the two had sex! Cane says he didn’t and denies it. All Cane has tried to do his woo his wife back to get him to trust him again after the one indiscretion of a smooch with Lauren. Lily is not having it, and becomes impulsive.
Next thing you know after having a fight at the bar of the GCAC with Cane, overheard by Joe (Scott Elrod), Lily heads upstairs and is followed by Mr. Clark. She is so furious with Cane that she throws herself at Joe, and the two have sex! As viewers know, when Joe first came to Genoa City he often flirted with Mrs. Ashby.
Later, Lily ends up admitting to Joe’s ex, Avery (Jessica Collins) that she was with him, while Avery was wondering who broke into her apartment and suspected Joe. When Paul (Doug Davidson), who is investigating the break-in situation leaves, Lily asks Avery if Joe will keep quiet about her tryst with him. She also relates to Avery that Joe may not have an air tight alibi being with her, because she realized he left for awhile, and Lily was alone.

I hope Cane dumps that childish, out of control, crazy woman Lily once and for all.
LOVING the shakeup to the Cane and Lily saga; it is long overdue. Cane and Lily, as well as Lauren and Michael seem to be “untouchable” to fans, so I’m over the moon excited that both pairings are being dismantled and shaken up a bit! Other regimes only rattled them, but the minute fan outrage came, they stopped. Not this time, and I’m loving it!
So it’s all about revenge on fans for you Not the quality of a story
I find the quality of the story compelling, and better than anything that’s on daytime currently, aside from what’s airing on B&B.
Seems as though Pratt is having fun splitting up a lot
of couples. Lauren and Michael. Nikki and Victor.
Avery and Dylan, etc. Even though Avery will be gone soon,
she could have been written to still be with Dylan until
she leaves.
And now Lily’s romp with Joe creates another emotional
split, even if Lily and Cane stay together.
The only good thing about what she did is that it seems
to have brought her down a bit from that high horse she
has been on for quite awhile.
Yeah, Nanci. She’s like a mad dog (well; bitch) with a bone to pick. I’m not too crazy about Cane much, either. This is a young couple who should be shouting its “love” from the rafters…be spontaneous and do it on the kitchen counter, for Pete sake…the kids can’t ALWSYS be home…..but the two consistently book hotel rooms to get their hotness on. As my Gran would say, “they can’t get their groove on.”
Yes, too many relationships and marriages are going down the tubes. I wish I knew where all this is going. …so disappointed. This is my show ….I have treasured this soap forever. It just isn’t the same Y&R anymore.
I must admit, though, Nanci, as distorted as the interlude between Joe and Lily may have been? I saw sparks flying….surprising for Lily, since I always considered her a cold fish just going through the motions. There was a fire going which was never lit between Cane and Lily….my opinion.
This is too silly to even mention, but…..Lily borrowed a dress from Avery? Yeah, sure!! Avery is AT LEAST two sizes bigger…too much room up top. Not only that, but, that is not Avery’s style. Avery has no style. Sorry, just had to say it…..welcome to the fantastical world of soaps, y’all !!.
Yes, Cee Cee, the two women are built differently for sure. Both have great figures but yes, they have entirely different body types. To punctuate the ridiculousness of that moment, that white dress fit Lily like a glove–it was almost too tight.

The white dress on Lily looked ‘mahvelous’….she made it look thus. It was a perfect fit. I cannot picture that dress on Avery…nor in her closet….not the right style for wide pelvic bones (hips).
And, yes, both have great bodies….just different.
It is very refreshing to have a guy so into women’s habillement. I wish my husband had an eye for that….LOL.

Therefore it is up to no one except Michael and his moderators to tell any of us our writing is less than appropriate…not other posters who have appointed themselves as the keepers and guardians/wardens of what or what not to post.
I also take it in stride to be called names because of my age?that is so rude. Being older does not give anyone the right to verbally abuse another poster. We have a voice and will verbally defend ourselves. God did not put us on this earth to take a beating…verbal, physical, emotional or intellectual.
I have also repeatedly said, that I can separate the actor from the character. If I come down, as everyone else, on a character, it seems that I, you, or Shay get bashed fro expressions our thoughts. After she walked away from him in the park you immediately heard footsteps following her. It could not have been Joe because he walked in the other direction.
Marco was in that same park (Chancellor Park) setting things up for the ultimate set up for Victor. I am thinking her is such a sociopathic animal that he saw Avery and jumped her.
What I am fearing is that the writing seems to be veering toward Victor Vindication……again. He set loose a rapist and a killer on the citizens of Genoa City. This is on him so they better not make Victor out to be Marco’s victim.

Revenge sex is such an contrived plot device that writers only use when they want to see characters who would not sleep with each other normally, have sex. And it was so blah to watch, it wasn’t even a hot sex scene–. Only Y&R can have a sex scene with someone as gorgeous as Scott Elrod and make me cover my eyes in embarrassment because it was too awful to watch.
Lily was never my favorite character but I feel so sorry for the actress who is being force to play her as this whiny brat– Lily used to be spunky, independent and daring, what they did to her should be a crime. It is obvious JFP known dislike for strong, female leads is coming through by her green lighting all these stories that have reduce all the women on this show to either childish whimps or helpless victims.
The way they butchering every character on this show, right now I would almost relieved if they would kill off the lot of them– and end the show and put me and them out of their collective misery. But then I take a breath, and cross my fingers and hope another writing change will come soon and hopefully this time they will take the producer with them.
Until they put this show into the bloody ground they will not be satisfied! CK was once a decent actress DG has always struggled and SE just a greasy wanna be!

Absolutely right! I haven’t cared for Lily that much but the degree to which the characters behave differently than they used to is appalling! That lame speech Cane gave her while clutching a giant bouquet of – excuse my will I try to not puke – LILIES, good LORD. And I cannot think of a precedent on the show where it would make logical sense for Cane to put Lauren’s needs before Lily’s and to be so concerned about her feelings. Instead, he would say, “et me call Jill for you”.
And all these contrived moments where Lauren is just tottering about the GC Athletic club asking Cane if he had a moment to set things straight with Lily — it’s RIDICULOUS and so fake. If they want to break up Lily and Cane and Michael and Lauren, then do it with more believable storylines. And pair them up with better matches. That kiss between Cane and Lauren was gross.
I said it before and I will say it again – these characters have survived doppelgängers like Sheila Carter, diseases like cancer and cretins like Carmine – but they will not survive Chuck Pratt Jr.
So sad.
Cane was gross to Lily and just plain stupid. He knew Joe was after his young sexy wife. He should have seen this coming but he kept it up, hurting Lily over and over to tag behind that old broad. Harry, I don’t know what Lauren was doing knocking at his door but both she and Cane denied it so vehemently I wonder if someone – like Joe or one of his thugs – did something to the security footage to make it look like it was Cane’s room or to make it look like it was midnight. Either way, it’s one of those bizarre plot threads that makes no sense and is just randomly thrown in there. For example, Ashley’s BRAIN SURGERY. Uh, she looks amazing for someone who just had brain surgery and what the heck was the point of putting her through random surgery???

I hope this isn’t the end. Lane are perfect for each other . Cane dismissed Lily time and again in favor of the needy Lauren. Instead of explaining why in DA HELL Lauren was in his room Cane got insulted. Really? As if Lily had no reason to be distrustful. Lily was hurt and felt rejected by her husband and she did a very bad thing but her actions didn’t happen in a vacuum. I hope that Cane remembers all the times Lily has forgiven him. I think in time they’ll find their way back . They love each other too much.
The character of ‘Lily’ has basically been a prop for other characters’ plots for several years – why she appears the way she does to some. This latest foray by writers is truly disturbing. Sad Y&R can’t write anything except the lowest behavior in their quest to entertain.
As for Lane, hope they weather this. They are the only realistic pairing on this show.

Lily and Cane are dynamite. They are my favorite couple. I hate that Pratt is writing them out of character but Lily and Cane will get through this storm and be stronger than ever.
I find it disgusting that the only way Pratt, Phelps, and McDaniel can find a way to create drama, for a pairing, is to have them bed someone else. For this Lane “s/l” to float, both Cane and Lily’s personalities had to be written out of character. So boring. Pratt and Phelps are one note writers with no imaginations, at all. Hell, Pratt started this bs by resurrecting a story he wrote for Melrose Place 20 years ago. Pathetic.
As for Lily, they have had every man in her life, her father, brother, and husband dismiss and disregard her. Joe, being the predator he is, started listening and being nice too her. Not surprised to see Lily had “sex” with him. Dumb, dumb, dumb….the storyline is too stupid for words. The real Cane Ashby would NEVER treat Lily the way Pratt’s Cane has. SMDH!
Lily Ashby is a beautiful, smart character. Cane and Lily Ashby are THE 21st century couple for YR. Too bad the idiots, in charge, and not give them a s/l truly worthy of them. Lily has changed so much. Makes me sad. She’s almost unbearable now. I too have wondered where their house went. The 3 sets only are pitiful. Y&R could’ve taken some of that Flirt W/Disaster budget & put a few more sets back on the show. It’s pitiful seeing these corporate bigwigs having staff meetings in a lab. Absolutely pitiful.

Pratt went way overboard on writing their characters OOC to float this ill conceived Story to break Lane up, just like he did with the Hillary mess. At least he gave one thought to two Jacks; Gabriella Adam stories.

First of all.. Cane is no innocent party. There were events that led to what Lily did. Do I like what she did? No. But I get why. Having your husband spend so much time with another woman, repeatedly choose that woman’s needs over her and kiss that said woman would do that to a person. So why wouldn’t she think they were really having an affair… Trust has always been a factor in there relationship.
Not a fan of this plot point mess but Christel Khalil is doing great work. The only saving grace for this story. I’m hoping she and Cane will work things out in the end. They are a beautiful couple together and it would be a shame to end it over a stupid mistake. Lily did forgive Cane for his countless lies so I hope he returns the favor. Rooting for them!

Moreover, I believe she was a school girl in a private school uniform when she met Cane.
it should be explored that she was too young to marry Cane and that maybe she needed to grow up a little before she married him. I feel she is stuck in a state of arrested development.
And she was a mean girl in the past–I remember how she picked on both Amber and Chloe back in the day. Nope. Never liked her. Cane can do better in my opinion and NO! I do not want to see him with Lauren–never liked her much either although Tracy Bergman has been pulling in some amazing performances as of late.

I agree with you about that dress. The first thing that popped into my head when I saw Lily wearing it was, Avery isn’t that small. Did she have it in her closet for years; waiting for someone who could wear it?
When Cane said to Lily today “I want you to be honest with me….” I thought of those who hate on LANE, Lily more particularly. When you say Cane is too good for her, considering his history of lies, and their history of being annihilated by biased HW/EPs who need therapy, do you really want to bitch or dick slap Lily because she is all that you claim OR because you have another motive which you do not want to disclose but is still visible? YR need at least ONE couple in love and the beautiful Lily and her husband, though he is flawed is it. They represent HOPE and Love; what’s wrong with that? I should ask that question of Pratt and JFP but I feel that would cost them more in therapy fees. Finally you have YOUR favs on YR, those you still love through crappy writing, Sybil personality changes; what if I called you deranged for liking them? Thanks to Christel and Daniel, they can turn crap into cheers together and we love them for that. Daniel Goddard and Christel Kahlil are just awesome as Cane and Lily.
I wonder how she’s going to explain her hypocrisy when Devon and Hilary find out. Not that sleeping with your father’s wife is 100% the same, but she should still get bitch slapped. I have to say, it will be nice to have Cane be the good one for once! He’s always on the defensive. That was a good choice by the writers if they were going to mess with Lane.
Sad to see Lily cheat with Joe.
From the sound of todays episode, Joe’s days are numbered.

Yeah, not only did he change into a suit, but he just happened to pick the same one Marco was wearing, plus the same shirt, and even the tie was almost identical– that too silly to be credible that it doesn’t even rate an LOL.
I so agree with many of the comments made by those that love and get what a couple like Lane bring to The Young and the Restless. This whole story line has been very offensive. The biggest offense is writing Cane and Lily to not be true to who they are. I don’t know why some think that every character should possess the same qualities(namely cheating) There are many like myself that find no entertainment in it. I wonder if effort will be put into building Lane back up. They haven’t had a true story/enjoyable story for years. Now all of a sudden Lane is worthy for dialog, once they write something for the characters that they knew would be hurtful to their fans. So sad and unnecessary. Also Michael Fairman I find you “bitch slap” comment offensive. But I shouldn’t be surprised, just more of the same dislike shown towards the character and Lane. Ones hoot and holler about how much they dislike Lane but yet their drawn to every pic,comment,website,twitter account,facebook account etc that focuses on them. That tells me the overwhelming appeal of Lane. It would be nice if someone in charge would get it together and make it right for Lane.

Both characters bore me as if the case with many others. I would think YR would welcome me on the occasional days I watch when LANE is on; same is true for other veteran viewers. Writing all characters OOC because you CAN shows lack of writing talent. You’re killing us here!
Mr. Fairman, I find the question of whether Lily should get “bitch-slapped” offensive and I don’t like the character of Lily. I realize you’re not writing poetry here but the least you could do is come up with a different way to say that Lily should face the consequences of her actions. Like: “Should Lily face the consequences of her actions?”. Would you suggest a physical retribution for a male character who cheated? Quite disappointing.

Cane screwed up big time this time with his latest line of lies and had the nerve to get an attitude! Lily reacted to what she saw, knowing her husband is always lying and immature. So where is his remorse, his explanation? Nothing happened because that liar SAID so? He actually said I respect our marriage to much to cheat! He didn’t respect it enough to RESPECT Lily by dissing her in front of that old woman or for Devon. I wouldn’t believe him either! He has told two major whoppers to Lily in less than six months and both hurt her. He had better fix it, quick!

What woman wouldn’t believe her man was cheating on her given the circumstances. Were you watching the show for the past couple of months? Cane was basically Lauren’s shadow the entire time. And the last I heard a kiss is cheating as well. If anyone to needs to be bitch slapped its Lauren for kissing Cane. Lily should of done that right after Michael.
Cane has earned his mistrust from Lily. I like Cane but I lost count on how many huge lies he told Lily during there time together. And Lily forgave him every time. Would be nice if he returned the favor when the truth comes out. They are a solid couple who are sexy as heck together. This family shouldn’t be ruined with 1 mistake. But knowing Pratt’s love for destruction, I’m not holding my breath.
Bravo for this post! I am sure it is not Fairman’s intent but once again, he appears to be anti-Lily in this article without mentioning Cane’s actions which destroyed Lily’s trust. Lily’s husband needs to be punched in the face! Everyone has a favorite, Michael is no different but as a journalist, he is supposed to be unbiased. I don’t hear him calling for Cane to be decked, Hillary and Lauren to be bitch slapped or Victoria and he certainly LOVED Chloe and if one was to go by his standard of judgment, Lily would have dragged her ass several times!

Only nasty thing about two Jacks and Victor is they are so old and gross for example. Who wants to see that? swapping partners is so commonplace no one wants to see 40 year old doing the nasty; bring in the pretty or shut it down so I won’t have to shut my eyes.

‘Brilliant Minds’ Officially Canceled After 2 Seasons at NBC; DAYS Alum Al Calderon, OLTL Alum Teddy Sears and Zachary Quinto Among the Cast
After languishing on the bubble for months, on Friday, NBC handed down the decision and canceled the medical drama Brilliant Minds after two seasons.
Brilliant Minds stars Zachary Quinto as neurology physician Oliver Wolf, who’s character and the series is inspired by the life and books of neurologist. Oliver Sacks. The series focuses on the medical mysteries of the mind, as Wolf a larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns explore the last great frontier, the human mind, while grappling with their own relationships and mental health.
The final six episodes of what will now be the end of its second and final season were already set to air beginning on May 27, after being pulled off the network schedule in February as viewership saw a steep decline. Brilliant Minds second season became the lowest-rated drama on linear TV viewing, which didn’t bode well fo a network renewal, although it had its hard core fan base.

There are some exceptional notables in the cast along with the talented Quinto that includes Days of Our Lives alum, Al Calderon (ex-Javi Hernandez) who joined the series in its second season as Nurse Nico Silva, and One Life to Live alum, Teddy Sears (ex-Chad Bennett) who plays Wolf’s love interest and fellow physician, Dr. Josh Nichols.
The rest of the talented cast includes: Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Donna Murphy, John Clarence Stewart, and Brian Altemus.
In an ironic twist of fate on Thursday, April 30, Days of Our Lives finally revealed the actor who was Al Calderon’s successor in the role of Javi, when they announced that actor Jacob Martinez had now stepped into the role. Since DAYS tapes ten months ahead of streaming new episode, Calderon left in the spring of 2025, but will be seen in the part for the final part this month, and then on June 20, Martinez debuts as Salem’s new Javi.
Taking to his Instagram with a sorrowful and heartfelt post on the Brilliant Minds cancellation was Teddy Sears who wrote, “Thank you, Brilliant Minds. I got the call today and I didn’t want to hear, but I knew that it would come, You have to be a particular vintage to quote Don Henley from memory, but that’s the line that came to mind earlier today after I got off the phone with our inimitable showrunner Michael Grassi who delivered the news that NBC has cancelled the series”.

Sears continued, “To say that I feel sad to be moving on from these stories, this character, and this cast and crew just doesn’t paint the entire picture. I’m sad, sure. But I’m also deeply grateful that I got hired to play this part, so proud of the stories we told, and the other actors I got to play alongside. I’m excited to see what comes next, what adventures await, and terrified to be without a professional home. A quick and heartfelt thank you to everyone, all over the globe, who found us and found themselves in us, in our characters and in our stories. We wouldn’t have been able to tell them without you. And we still have 6 fresh episodes yet to air, and I do hope you tune in enjoy the remainder of the series. They’re the best we’ve done.”
As he wrapped up his sentiments, Sears signed off with, “The more I know, the less I understand. All the things I figured out I have to learn again. I’ve been trying to get down to the heart of the matter. But everything changes…Thank you, Brilliant Minds.”
The medical drama was created and executive produced by Michael Grassi alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Lee Toland Krieger, DeMane Davis, Jasmine Russ, Henrik Bastin, Jonathan Cavendish, Andy Serkis and Shefali Malhoutra.

‘General Hospital’s’ Jonathan Bennett Receives 3 ‘Critics Choice Real TV Awards’ Nominations for Hallmark Series, ‘Finding Mr. Christmas’
Many things are coming up roses for Jonathan Bennett! On the heels of the news that he is set to debut this month in the role of Joe Fitzpatrick on General Hospital, who is rumored to be a new love interest for Lucas Jones (Van Hansis), comes the news that Bennett’s reality series, Finding Mr. Christmas has received 3 nomination for the Critics Choice Real TV Awards.
Bennett’s Hallmark Channel series finds itself in tough competition alongside fellow nominees: RuPaul’s Drag Race (MTV), Squid Game: The Challenge (Netflix), Survivor 50 (CBS), Top Chef (Bravo) and The Traitors (Peacock). In addition, Jonathan himself is nominated for Best Show Host and the series participants as the Best Ensemble Cast in an Unscripted Series.
The Critics Choice Association (CCA) revealed the nominees for the eighth annual Critics Choice Real TV Awards on Thursday, which recognize excellence in nonfiction, unscripted and reality programming across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms. Winners will be announced online at CriticsChoice.com on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 9:00am PT/12:00pm ET.

Taking to his Instagram to celebrate the nominations, GH’s Bennett, enthused, “3 Critic Choice Nominations! I’m so proud of the FINDING MR CHRISTMAS and to be in the company of all the legends in all these categories is so surreal! Congrats to Hallmark Channel and to our nominated cast and nominated show and everyone who made this magical show possible. This is crazy! This gives FMC 6 Critics Choice nominations in 2 years. Not bad for a little show on Hallmark Channel. What are your thoughts on our show?” Jumping first into the comment thread was one of his new GH co-stars, Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) who expressed, “Yeah buddy!!!🔥🔥”
In the series, Bennett, the host and co-creator spends eight weeks guiding 10 aspiring actors through a series of “festive face-offs” and acting challenges alongside actors like soap opera notables, Hunter King (ex-Summer, Y&R) and Alison Sweeney (Sami, DAYS). Along the way, they develop their skills and a bond with one another. The show, which is available on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Plus, highlights LGBTQ+ representation with openly gay contestants vying to be the next Hallmark star.
It should be noted that Traitors received the most Critics Choice Real TV Award nominations with 6 nods, followed by Dancing with the Stars with 4.
Bennett is very familiar to daytime fans having started his career as JR Chandler on All My Children in 2000-2001, before landing the part of Aaron Samuels in the motion picture, Mean Girls in 2004 starring Lindsay Lohan, which would become his breakout performance.

‘General Hospital’s’ Kelly Thiebaud on Britt and Cassius Sibling Drama, But Who Will Ultimately Blow His Cover?
On the April 30 episode of General Hospital, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) had some choice words and warning for her brother Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) who has been masquerading as his twin, the very dead, Nathan West.
As the story has unfolded, viewers learned that Britt knew all along that when “Nathan” showed up in Port Charles seemingly resurrected with a missing 7 years of his life unexplained, that Cassius was taking his place.
Now in developments on today’s GH, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is figuring out that this guy pretending to be Nathan is someone else, and Cassius learns from Britt, that Joss is not just a ditzy sorority girl as he claimed, but a WSB agent! The moment stuns Cassius. Are the walls about to close in on him and his charade?

Daytime Emmy winner, Kelly Thiebaud spoke to Soap Opera Digest, about the story point and getting the opportunity this time back at GH to work with Ryan Paevey, when she hadn’t had the chance to before.
BROTHERLY LOVE?
Thiebaud expressed on sharing scenes with Ryan Paevey, “It’s just been so wonderful to have him back and to actually work with him! When he first came onto the show (as Nathan at the end of 2013) I was kind of heading out — it was right towards the end of my contract, so we didn’t actually work together a ton. It’s been really refreshing and so much fun to really spend time together and get to know each other and work together. I think we have really great on-camera chemistry and banter with each other. I really enjoy working with him.”
With the stakes at an all-time, Thiebaud explained how she views her on-screen alter-ego’s involvement with her more hot-to-temper sibling and why Britt revealed the truth about Josslyn to him. “People finding out about Cassius would expose what she’s involved in and what she agreed to do,” explains Kelly “And now Josslyn is digging around, and she’s connected to Carly (Laura Wright) to Jason (Steve Burton) and that whole dynamic! It’s messy!”
BRITT’S MURKY FUTURE
Britt has currently also reached her breaking point with Jason being carted away by the WSB, Rocco (Finn Carr), the child she gave birth to, shooting Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) to protect her and Jason, Marco (Adrian Anchondo) being killed after trying to help her, and Cullum holding over her head getting her Huntington’s disease medication to control her symptoms, while blackmailing her into finishing the research on her father, Cesar Faison’s, final project. Thiebaud summed it up best for Britt right now, sharing, “It’s been a really tough time for her.”
