As Danny Romalotti’s marriage to Christine “Cricket” Blair draws near, The Young and the Restless has brought back Danny’s on-screen sister, Gina Roma played by Patty Weaver and Nina Webster played by Daytime Emmy winner, Tricia Cast.

Both actresses are on set at the CBS daytime drama series this week and will be seen on all-new episodes this November centering around Danny and Christine’s nuptials.

Previously, Cast, who originated the role of Nina back in 1982, most recently made brief returns in 202o and 2021. She returned once again in 2023 for Y&R’s 50th anniversary and for Lauralee Bell’s 40th anniversary show. The last time Cast was back was in March of 2024.

Taking to her Instagram with a snap, was Bell alongside her longtime friends, Cast and Weaver. Ironically, when Y&R killed-off Chance Chancellor, Nina’ son, this summer on the July 28th episode, Nina never appeared back in Genoa City to grieve her son, which has been a bone of contention for longtime fans of the show.

Chance exited the series in order for Conner Floyd to replace Billy Flynn in the role of Chad DiMera on Days of our Lives. Since Y&R chose to end the life of Chance, it looks like for now, unless there is a twist, the role will not be recast. The question remains, will we have a sorrowful and angered Nina run into Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) and give him a piece of her mind for the death of her son? Stay tuned.

As for Patty Weaver, after joining Y&R in 1982, she stayed with Y&R through 2009. After that, she only made a handful of appearances including for Katherine Chancellor’s funeral in 2013 and Y&R’s 50th anniversary in March of 2023. Might she sing at her brother’s “I do’s?”

So, glad to hear Nina and Gina are attending the nuptials of Cricket and Danny? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Wonder how many seconds of air time they will get and how many words they will be given to speak.

I hope this can be a lovely valentine for those of us who remember these characters, families, connections, and stories. Y&R faithful deserve it. This is the kind of thing soaps can do and used to do very well. I agree Nina’s absence at the death of her son is unforgivable. Killing Chance was a bonehead move and I will never understand why no one could craft a powerful story for that character. The endless dull boardroom plots mean nothing. Human interactions and responses to relatable real life situations. Romance and genuine suspense are always appealing to viewers, as are big deal weddings.

All of this hoopla for Cricket and Danny is stupid considering the killing of Chance. Looking forward to Claire and Nathan stumbling upon Sienna and Noah in Los Angeles and hopefully the mystery will be intriguing and not last for a month and a half like them all captive on the train in the South of France.

This show really isn’t what it used to be
Cricket and Danny are cute but not must see tv

So the death of her son didn’t warrant airtime for Tricia Cast, but Cricket’s meaningless wedding does??? Even Jill didn’t seem that upset over Chance’s passing in dialogue written today…other than why didn’t Cain attend??? Worst head writer EVER.

That is so appalling Chance was a legacy character. The Phillip Nina Cricket triangle in the late 80s which produced Chance propelled the show to #1. They were on the cover of soap digest and Tricia Cast won an Emmy. I just don’t understand this show anymore it’s sad to watch.

Watched this show on and off for years never been so ashamed to be a watcher . But I’m done now and very disgusted you let a great show just turn literally to shit

I see Y&R dropped to a new low in 18-49 year old female viewers the last full week of September. Dropped to a .17, finishing 10th out of 13 daytime shows. They only beat Beyond the Gates, GMA3, and NBC News Daily in that category. That has to be an all time low. Younger viewers are tuning out Y&R. Also finished 6th in the woman 24-54 demo. Where is JFP? Name isn’t in the credits yet. A wedding with Danny & Cricket is not what the doctor ordered.

I’m in that demographic and dropped this 30 year habit 6 months ago. The same recycled and depressing storylines yielded zero viewer satisfaction. Saddling Adam with obnoxious and boring Chelsea just submerged his personality. How many times must Billy fail and then conduct some major soul searching? Victor’s endless vendetta against the Abbott’s is like watching paint dry.

‘The Young and the Restless’ Tamara Braun Teases Sienna and Nick Relationship Turn, ‘There is Some Chemistry’

Published

It looks like now may be the time that The Young and the Restless is building towards a change in the dynamic between Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).

First, Nick is not himself these days since becoming addicted to painkillers and most importantly, fentanyl. Second, Sienna is seeing Audra (Zuleyka Silver) popping back into Lucas’ (Lucas Adams) life more than she wants to. Third, Sienna’s brother got into trouble with drugs so there is empathy there for what Nick is going through and potentially to help him pull through this.

Tamara Braun, who is celebrating her 25th anniversary on daytime soaps this month, spoke to Soaps.com about how the Y&R fans are noticing something between Sienna and Nick. Will they hit the sheets? Will they have an affair? A one-night stand? Or will it be platonic, and she could be the person to help Nick out in one of the darkest times in his life?

A NEW WOMAN IN NICK’S LIFE?

“I guess it would make for an interesting triangle,” said Braun about the possibility of being the woman between dad and son. “But people can have chemistry that isn’t romantic, and it can still become something really interesting. You know, like when you feel like you’ve met somebody before, or you meet somebody for the first time, and you’re instantly best friends, like, ‘How the heck are we grooving so well?’”

The two-time Daytime Emmy winning actress added that maybe that is what the audience is sensing with Nick and Sienna, but Braun does confirm,”There is some chemistry.”

TOUGH LOVE

With Nick’s addiction spiraling out of control and especially by week’s end on all-new episodes of the CBS soap opera, Tamara says Sienna’s experience with her brother and drugs, could lead to more key time with Nic:, “Whether it’s romantic, (it could be just a case of) ‘I want to try and get it right when I wasn’t able to before.”‘

So would be down for Sienna and Nick to have some sort of romantic encounter or relationship? Would you be more enthused if they remain friendly and she helps him try to deal with his addiction, or would you want them in each others orbits as friends and lovers?
