So, what do you think of the presenter lineup for this year’s 52nd annual Daytime Emmy Awards? Who are you happy to see that will be a part of the ceremony? Let us know in the comment section below.
A solid lineup of presenters. General Hospital knew who to send, and I am happy to see Rory Gibson’s first-ever publicity image as Michael. Shame Alexa did not receive the same treatment!
It is disappointing to me that in 30 years the Daytime Emmys have become so minimal. I miss the once robust genre and very public participation of broadcasters in the programming, recognition, and special events. I wonder if those simpler days of awards programs in the afternoon may be more attractive to networks if they do not want to give up their primetime hours (heaven forbid we miss a rerun from earlier in the week, or an episode of another lookalike game show). Daytime matters, and it surprises me broadcasters do not want to make the most of the time block.
Realistically, CBS is the only network that could possibly air the awards in the daytime. ABC has given much time back to affiliates and doesn’t have a 2-hour window in many markets. NBC and FOX don’t have any non-news daytime programming, so there’s no incentive for them to air the awards.
The Daytime Emmys (when broadcast) would usually air in primetime during the less busy summer season as there is less original programming on.
A very good post. They could have aired it on a Friday night on CBS. Most of their prime time shows are not returning until later in month of October. I like Country music, but how many award shows have they aired for the genre? To have the Emmy broadcast streamed is a dis.
How do we watch?
If you read the article or any Emmy-related articles, you would know already:
The ceremonies are set to stream live on Friday, October 17, from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California and can be viewed via watch.theemmys.tv and the Emmys app.
Wondering if the Emmys will be airing on network tv.
Been confirmed several times and mentioned in this article (if you had read it):
The ceremonies are set to stream live on Friday, October 17, from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California and can be viewed via watch.theemmys.tv and the Emmys app.
Disappointed that the top daytime soap network CBS made a horrible decision to not broadcast the Daytime Emmys. Lost was a great chance to showcase their new show BTG and the other daytime shows. The Emmy show was usually highly rated on Friday nights. The daytime actors and audiences deserve better!
