THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS: Victoria Accepts Travis' Marriage Proposal, But Is Villy The End Game?

Courtesy/CBS
On Wednesday’s Thanksgiving episode of The Young and the Restless, when Victoria (Amelia Heinle) is amongst the Newman family with Travis (Michael Roark) in tow, Abby (Melissa Ordway) steals a moment with her to ask her half-sister if she had decided to accept Travis’ marriage proposal.
Victoria, who has been stalling Travis tells Abby she has not given him an answer. Abby gives Vicky some words of advice: to take a leap of faith, but Victoria hopes she can come around to accepting his proposal before he tires of her delays.
When all gathered sit down for their Thanksgiving dinner, Travis tells those in attendance he is very thankful for Victoria. This touches her, especially when he admits she is the best thing that ever happened to him. Next thing you know, Victoria makes it official and tells Travis she will marry him!
A not-so-pleased Victor (Eric Braeden) asks Travis why he didn’t ask him (her father) for his daughter’s hand in marriage. Travis thinks that’s very old-fashioned, since he is wanting to marry Victoria, not him. While Victor chuckles, he is unnerved. Later, when Billy (Jason Thompson) arrives to take the kids for the rest of their Thanksgiving day, he learns that Victoria accepted Travis’ proposal of marriage. He says he is happy for both of them, but is he? Very doubtful!
With Travis’ sketchy past, his druken night with his ex-Michelle (Kelly Frye), his possible alterior motives, and Victoria always seemingly wanting Billy’s approval as Travis and Victoria move forward with their relationship, will it become more clear to Villy that they actually want to be with each other?
So, who are you rooting for? Do you want Travis and Victoria, or Billy and Victoria to eventually exchange vows and rings? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
Jason Thompson and Amelia Heinle do have chemistry.
YES
“thank you”
I noticed that right away… while he was in the hospital
’nuff said.. the bloodshed is ridiculous (ie: my beloved Amelia Heinle, the one lone Newman – every body hates ) ???? what ever… while I find the rest of the Newmans… boring… I give Nikki a let because of high camp.
pay no mind… Ameilia Heinle’ Victoria made the TOP 8 . Thanks to Sally Sussman.
I loooove Victoria!!!! What do you mean, Patrick? I had no clue Y&R fans didn’t like Victoria……
I, actually, like all Victor’s kids.
hi Celia !!
I guess I’m one..
Victoria; I dont hate her, but don’t care for her, she is just there/nothing special.
funny thing– I have never cared what happens to her one way or another.
After what Travis did with Michelle, it’s kind of clear we know how this will end up.
Yep, Traviz will do to his relationship with Vic what he did with Michelle (Michelle is icky, hope she doesn’t come back).
I agree with Lew. JT and AH do have chemistry and it’s not forced or fake.
They have everything but romantic or sexual chemistry. They are really awkward to watch while the Philly and Tricky chemistry was obvious.
Yes, as brother and sister, aVictoria and this Billy have great chemistry. Jason Thompson is not what I would call a man’s man. That’s one of the attributes which defines a sexy guy……not always looks; but, attitude. ….speaking as a woman.
I’m so sick of Villy, enough. We’ve seen it a thousand times and we don’t need to again. Amelia has infinitely moor chemistry with just about anyone else on the show and Jason has insane chemistry with Gina. Please spare us round 1590 of the Villy ship of doom
Hi, Sharon,
It is ‘funny’ how some of us get different vibes from certain character coupling.
While I agree that Victoria does have chemistry with any sexual partner on the show; I don’t find Jason exuding any kind of sensuality with anyone.
The few trysts Billy and Nina had consisted of forced heavy breathing, Phyllis’s pretty underwear, and bare limbs. Billy, I cannot take seriously as ‘stud’…..
I think Tognoni is a seasoned actress ( as Kelly Kramer on OLTL)…… loved her as Kelly; exceptional acting….as she has proven time and again on Y&R. However, she was never the femme fatale, sexy type…too hard…no softness.
If truth be known, there is a hint of sexiness more with Jack than with Billy. Nothing about this Billy rings a bell….only my opinion.
Oh come on!!! Peter could be Gina’s father. Don’t talk about sexiness for those two.
@Lauren.
LOL……not much I can do if you do not grasp my humor/sarcasm. I know Peter is old enough to be Gina’s father….I have repeated this fact ad nauseam. It is a soap.
The fact remains that Jason T is not what I would call a ‘heartbreaker’ of a guy. We try to respect each others’ opinions on these sites. Be nice…..I do not respond to, ” don’t”!! Too authoritative.
Let’s contain ourselves. It is my opinion whether you agree or not. I see a scintilla of a spark in certain couples where you may not….it is as simple as that!!
BINGO! Gina is a good actress with NO sex appeal! Hey Cee, what about Victoria and Cane?
@Timmm.
Hey, hey, hey, now….I know you’re pulling my leg, my Timmmy. You are as much into Cane as I am. NOT!!!! LOL.
….thing is; Victoria can ‘deal’ ( sexually or otherwise) with any counterpart. Amelia is just that kind of actress—-innate, honed talent.
To me, Cane and NuBilly graduated from the same ‘character school’. I get zilch. Jason Thompson is en par with Goddard. I never found either of them inspiring. Jason is a one-trick pony: Patrick Drake; having great brouhaha with another one-trick filly: Kimberly McCullough. (No disrespect meant for her. Just a personal feeling). Sedate, ordinary characters as Patrick and the little I saw of Robin, were a match made in GH heaven of boredom. This is what I saw….I am probably not being fair since I barely knew the character, but, sometimes it takes a few seconds to size up a character’s charismatic ‘magnetic field’. So, no backlash, please….LOL.
So, Cane and Victoria? Nah. He will take her on a downward spiral as badly as Lily’s. TPTB should have cultivated the relationship between Lily and Joe. WOW!! Did they click. Those short sexual stints together fogged up my contact lenses. LOL.
I don’t know if I am the only one with these sentiments, Timmmy, but, if not…..I feel that both Cane and nuBilly are forced on us.
Later, babes.
Is Dylan really filing for child custody rights?
As a rule, I abhor child custody battles as a story line but child visitation rights?
I’d rather watch my dad clip his toe nails.
@Addison.
Funny…LOL.
Yeah, I agree, Addison. Not only is this court ‘battle’ inane and vexing….it is also, taxing.
As Christian’s uncle, wouldn’t Dylsn get yo see him, anyway? I mean, family gatherings and all?
This is fairyland, I guess!!
@su0000.
Hi, su,
That’s OK, su…..you can like or dislike any character….we are individuals with different tastes and opinions.
I really like Amelia. I guess I carried her over from AMC….always liked her; so, the liking trickles down to Victoria.
Yes, she can be sort of petulant, but, that’s her little ‘rich girl’ act….it’s innate. LOL.
I love your posts, regardless, SuzieQ.
I hate that Victoria is going to be hurt again.
I will always love and hope for Villy. They are my OTP.
The moment it was announced that Jason Thompson was taking over Billy Abbott I was SO excited at the possibilities of Amelia with Jason as Villy. IMO they are Endgame. They will always be intertwined and in/out of each other’s lives. I am very much looking forward to Villy. I’ll always want them. But I do hope they take their time. There’s no rush. There are obvious issues that they need to work through. And I hope the new writers will find something new outside of Victoria’s daddy issues and Billy makes a stupid mistake or lies… but I love Victoria and Billy.
If the illy in Villy is Billy Miller then okay otherwise they should put Villy on the shelf for a while longer– plus Billy Abbott was too in love with Phyllis to convince me he has the same passion for Victoria right now.
Actually in my fantasies the show lures Heather Tom from B&B– to me she was and always be Victoria– the present actress is okay, but the role should be really meaty with lots of depth and Heather could really bring Victoria back to life—
Hello Mary SF…I so TOTALLY AGREE 100%, I have the same fantasies, lol…lure Heather Tom back…ever since Heather left the role, I don’t care about Victoria…my opinion, NO ONE can replace Heather Tom once she plays a role…she is one powerhouse of an actress.
Heather Tom also delivers a lot of histrionic
which is embellished on B&B… that 1/2 hour show has to suck us in
it’s rather embarrassing to think that she’d be needed back in Genoa City to prop and elevate the Newman… that much
Victoria at the very least… and It should be magnified… at least mixes in with the Abbott.
let the old guard… Victor, Nikki, and Nicholas… enjoy some hurrah… whatever
Jason and Amelia have zero romantic chemistry. They look like siblings.
Jason and Gina’s chemistry is off the charts but they decided to dump this without giving them a shot to beat the dead horse.
Billy has been madly in love with Phyllis for months, I won’t buy a Villy reunion at all. Victoria was better with Travis, but they had to ruin him too to reunite a pairing that died three Billy ago.
…..and, Billy has been madly in love with Mac, Lily, Chloe, Sharon, Chelsea….I know there must be more….surprised he’s never fallen for Nikki, Lauren….or has he?
Billy’s ‘love exploits’ started since he was in diapers. All passing fancies. He is a big baby who refuses to grow up, as fickle and volitile as a tween girl.
The only growing maturity we saw in Billy was during his marriage to Victoria……but, that was Billy Miller. The boyish charm suited him…..with Jason T, it is a gross overstatement.
We shall see how it progresses. Nonetheless, he has not the chops to fit into BM’s shoes. Same goes for Gina.
My opinion only.
Well said and well put. To me the character of Billy Abbott has been turned into a revolving door for out of work actors. The way I see it, never works when a new actor is thrown into the mix. Maybe on one or two rare occasions. I like the rest of the free world love AH&BM as Billy and Victoria. I just don’t think it will work again. And if she stays with Travis after she finds out about Travis sleeping with the ex, what will that say about Victoria as a women? I know she can be whiny and annoying, but I never saw her as needy. Whose to say she has to have a man? Why not let her be a single mother for awhile and focus on her kids. Nothing is written in stone that every single person needs tobe a couple
@Soapqueenforever.
Hi, soapqueen,
I don’t know if Victoria would let Travis’ cheating slide. I do hope he is jettisoned like a bag of trash into the greedy mouth of a sanitation truck, LOL. I know it’s a soap, but, I sort of lose respect for such characters, as represented by the writers. They could have written Travis a more acceptable and pragmatic story for leaving.
I suppose betrayal is the most incendiary catalyst in a relationship.
I do have a feeling Travis has run his course. Ergo, the cheating. As I said, TPTB planned his ‘demise’ to make room for Billy’s catapult into Victoria’s life.
No, soapqueen….it seems impossible in soaps for main characters to take a breather after the fall of a relationship. I guess it is the nature of the beast.
Loved tricky but Michael is gone so
I hope some day he comes back and for now I hope Victoria stays single and focused on her job and family
I haven’t got to the American Thanksgiving episode yet so can’t comment on it now.I have watched GH since the late 1970’s and have never felt so disillusioned with the show as I Do now. The writing is terrible. It is dis-jointed and choppy with dropped storylines. Jake came back as a very disturbed child. It was made clear that something happened to him on the island but that was dropped with no explanation. The same goes for Laura’s storyline regarding Helena’s will. We got to the point where it was revealed that a Lloyd and Lucy Johnson now own the campus disco. This seemed very intriguing but it went nowhere. It really feels as if the writers are making up story as they go along.
The Claudette fiasco with three daddies was just awful. I really hope that Charlotte is not Lulu’s daughter. This would be impossible. The Crichton Clark storyline happened three years ago.The embryo was still just that at that point.Stavros boasted that he rad fertilized the embryo himself. Even if the embryo survived the explosion and was implanted immediately the child would be scarcely two years old. Certainly not older than Rocco.
I believe Gh has the best cast in all of television. I greatly admirre the cast with two glaring exceptions. The first being Maurice Benard. He cannot get through a single scene without stumbling, mumbling and faltering on his lines. How is held in such high regard is beyond me. He could never have a prime time or movie career. No director would put up with his fumbling acting style.
The second actor is Billy Miller. I really like the guy but he is not working as Jason. He looks bored to death and his mumbling is worse than usual. I thought he was great as Billy on Y&R despite his mumbling. He was billy and has three emmy’s to show for it. How he went from being a three time A list daytime actor to a woefully mis-cast actor is really sad. No one knows why he walked away from his signature role to take on this one but it has to go down as the worst career move ever taken by an actor in daytime.
That’s enough for now. I am looking forward to wtching the Thanksgiving episode. It sounds as if it was nicely done.
I really
Ok why are you commenting on a Y &R boar bout GH?
Board / GH I apologize hitting the wrong keys
Because it is related… I agree Greg, BM is bored to death. I would not have minded if he and Sam left town liked they were planning… On a side note, would a Brenda return spark some fire for Sonny?
Greg, you sum it all up beautifully. I agree with your every word.
Billy Miller did not walk away. He wanted to stay but JFP forced him out by not giving him the same kind of contract he had before and the same outs other actors on the show got.
Billy Miller had a choice to make and he chose to leave.
Oh, Greg, while I don’t entirely agree about Billy, I do agree that he looks bored and, from what I’ve read, was misled when he took the Jason role. If Jason had a memory loss, why couldn’t his personality change as well, making him more open, funny, and impish, which is right up Billy’s alley. I still look forward to seeing him when he’s on…his blue eyes, beautiful blonde hair, and that occasional dazzling smile. I actually feel worse for him than us. I hate to see someone that talented and genuinely nice feeling unhappy.
I fully agree with you. If it’s true thatJFP forced him out by not giving him the same contract with outs he had before that is really rotten on her part. He was a three time emmy winner and one of the most revered actor in daytime. What is wrong with this woman? Instead she chose to hire SB, pay him a huge salary and give him a fly in clause.Don’t get me wrong I do like Steve but he was definitely given preferential treatment under her regime.
that is such a nice post
since this is a 365 day race
it’s ventures I choose… to drive it in
occupied ? Billy Miller aimed
Wrong show, dude.
Y&R is notorious for recycling the couples..
It’s like a never ending circle… the couples rotate..
They end up back with whom they started with and then the rotation starts again..
So– I have no doubt that Victoria and Billy will reunite .
Luvin JT as Billy !!!
I’ve enjoyed Travis and Victoria, but Billy and Victoria will always have my soap heart. Their love story was classic soap and the original version of the couple was so phenomenal, I can’t seem to stop rooting for them, even though Billy Miller is long gone. (Amelia has always done a stellar job of portraying Victoria’s continuing emotional tie to Billy, so I credit her for keeping my flame alive through the upheaval of changing actors.) The brief taste we got of this version of the pairing early in Jason’s run captured my imagination again, and I’d love to see them take the journey back to each other. It should be a huge struggle for both of them, of course, not an instant reconcilation by any means. The relationship with Travis has been a great diversion for Victoria but it never felt substantial enough to be forever, while Billy and Victoria’s love story has never felt over.
I will assume Travis is in his way out the door Sally wants Billy and Victoria back together ! I adore Jadon Thompson but dial the sarcasm down a notch and no AH has never played Victoria as the hard ass business woman but that’s their take on it!
As soon as this Michelle person made an appearance, Kay, I replied that TPTB would bring Travis and Victoria to an end. It is that obvious, I think, for everyone.
What truly bothers me, is that although Travis is a sap, I liked their hot ‘get togethers’, and interactions.
Jason Thompson is not the type of ‘be still my heart’ actor, not to me, albeit I see he has a great following.
I await Victoria and this Billy with open arms…..I am always willing to give ‘new’ relationships and how a character/actor mesh, a chance. We were robbed of it when Jason took Miller’s place.
I do hope their “let’s give it a go” works.
Nonetheless, Miller will always be the perfect embodiment of Billy Abbott to me, which no one can replace.
As Greg Lynch ( a very concise and en pointe post) said, Billy Miller as Jason is a bust. Not his calling!!
I think JT is a awesome actor but you had how many Billy’s revolving thru the swing door? Sometimes you need to back away and take a deep breath
I love this show but everyone needs to stop and give them a chance they do need a younger crowd but she has got to work on it please just give them a chance I am willing to do nd Sharon is not the only one who needs repairing JM/Nick stop with the anger you look stupid 18 years and you had no problem with maybe Summer being Jacks take a seat
My gosh Celia go you tube to the character of Jack he made the screen smolder he was the ultimate alpha male! Love and miss that man
Terry Lester the ultra mate
@Kay.
You’re right, Kay. Very well put. Also, when we’ve had the best of Billy Abbott in Billy Miller, it is difficult to settle for less. Therefore, I think Victoria and nuBilly deserve to be given the chance to show their ‘stuff’, as a couple.
@Celia
They had the chance in January/February/March and it took five minutes to see they had zero chemistry. Plus, considering their history, the couple is also deader than dead.
Philly and Tricky worked so much better. Sad they are both sacrified for a chemless and contrived pairing.
Just like PB will never be Jack for me Terry Lester owned that role
Terry Lester/Jack sultry sexual take no prisoners God the alpha male of soaps
I have heard that before about Terry Lester. …..way before my time. But, my Grandmother gave me the short version. She feels as you do.
I can certainly understand that, as BM will always be Billy Abbott to me. The same goes for Michelle Stafford’s Phyllis. Gina Tognoni’s version is not the Phyllis I had come to know and love.
Terry is long gone. He WAS jack, I agree but Peter has done a remarkable job as a recast.
Terry was everything wonderful. It was back when Y&R wasn’t so prissy. Victor was straight up villainous, Jack was the Alpha Male Horndog, Jill was cutting a wide path of destruction after being destroyed by the Chancellors…. lots of DARK dark colors.
He left and then died. It’s been a different Jack ever since. Change happens. All the time. You love the show? Well, embrace the things you can not change. (Muhnay fierce fans, looking at you….)
Love your colorful depiction, Tomas…you paint a true, vivid picture. I wish I was on earth to see the first few years of Y&R. I love this show….even with all its flaws.
Haven’t watched Wednesday’s ep yet, but I don’t want Vic to marry Travis. Looks like Victor doesn’t either. Surprised Abby told Victoria to go for it considering she went for it and is now getting a divorce. Then again, maybe I shouldn’t be surprised.
I wanted Billy to tell Victoria about Travis and Michelle. I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of Michelle.
Considering Travis will be living in the house with Billy’s children and will be a father figure, I do think Billy should tell Victoria about Michelle so she has all the info. He won’t want his children to grow attached to Travis only to have the marriage break up later (which we know will happen if they even get married). So Billy owes it to his children to be honest with Victoria about Travis.
Villy’s ship has sailed years ago. A Villy reunion is just not believable on any level anymore. Tricky had potential sad to see them ruined for another Villy round. I wish Victoria would start focusing on herself, her kids and her career. Down the line, I want to see her in a new romance with a new man who respects her.
Victoria ranking : Amelia Heinle or Heather Tom…
Amelia Heinle has not had great chemistry with any of the actors that played Billy Abbott since Billy Miller left. Jason Thompson does well with Amelia but on the romantic front there is a distance. It’s true that Jason and Gina Tognoni have intense chemistry together. I, quite honestly, would like to see Billy happy with Phyllis. They just work well. Jack and Phyllis are just a good fit. Jack is such a whiner. He belongs with another whiner like perhaps Lily. That is after Cane gets hit by the flying chihuahuas and goes to the great white clouds in the sky. I love Jason Thompson and Jess Walton together. They make a believable mother and son. I haven’t like any of the actors that replaced Billy Miller in his role as the ONLY Billy Abbott. But Jason Thompson at least fits it well and brings something to the table so I can let my distaste go long enough to enjoy the character of Billy Abbott again. I really feel that since Mal Young came on board things have started moving again. I can’t wait till the new writing regime comes back on board. I just think we need to stop living in the past. Billy and Victoria are done as a couple. They both need to move on. I like Travis. He is a good guy overall and his fling with the tart was just that, a fling with a tart. Hopefully they will keep her away. I like Y&R right now. The only story I can’t take is the Lily and Cane marriage. That couple needs to be retired and quickly. Push Lilly off a cliff like her momma and send Cane to the big pet cemetary in the sky. They are the most annoying couple on daytime after Patch and Kayla from DAYS…. I wish soaps would just work on building the future instead of always trying to recapture the past. The only couple who I can deal with breaking up and getting back together over and over is Nikki and Victor. They truly belong together and are fun to watch. The family dynamic of the Newmans is always a fun thing to watch. One quick side note: Billy Miller on GH is missing the humor he had with his character on Y&R. The reason he appears bored on GH is that there is no lightness to his characterization of Jason Morgan. Billy Miller is one of the best actors on daytime. I just wish he would get to embrace the lighter side of Jason Morgan. That’s all ……Kudos to Y&R for knowing how to give their audience a good hour of drama and fun. I love Y&R almost as much as GH…
the FUN’iest part of your post…”…Push Lilly off a cliff like her momma and send Cane to the big pet cemetary in the sky.”
it’s demeaning… to the people of color… audience members
the Winters clan is so tired… so done in
would Victoria Rowell… bring in that much ?
she had a fearless façade? did she have enough power to go?
with Devon 2 billion dollars to cache…. the gig just went sky high
to wait for the allotted color… should piss many people off
any thing
why shouldn’t Y&R production VALUES push the envelope
stand by your product… it’s Victoria Rowell… Michael Muhney… for the WIN
Devon, Lilly, Cane, the twins, Neil, are so somber… jelly… and props… FIRE
Agreed, Patrick. I would love VR back….but, it’s an ‘illusion’…..too much drama…..sometimes, ‘stuff’ cannot be forgiven or be given a blind eye. Lord only knows the veracity of what we heard.
As far as the two billion? Well, that money belonged to Phillip Chancellor Senior. What I don’t understand is how all that money went to Katherine, as Phillip married Jill on his deathbed, after Katherine ran him off a cliff with her car in a drunken stupor.
Morally and legally, shouldn’t that money have gone to Phillip Junior?
Anyway; of all people it went to Devon? ….the useless businessman? Then, what? All those riches and fortune….the spoils; go to supercilious Hilary? Hmmmm.
Amelia is able to interact with any counterpart….as I said; it is not she, but the insipid Billys she has been forced to endure, after Miller.
Both Gina Tognoni and Jason Thompson are not sensual people….with anyone.
The same goes for Lily. I do not find her annoying….it is Cane. I think TPTB were pretty perspicacious, as far as Jason and Amelia, at the beginning….this is why they diverted to pairing Billy and Phyllis.
However, it is a matter of perception….I did not see that sexual hotness between them either. I have not seen anything that stopped my heart in complete abandon and bliss since Michelle Stafford and Jeff Branson.
Victoria has the IT factor….no one else on the show has it. My opinion.
I saw a hint in Chelsea…but, the steam soon evaporated. The only reason I want Chelsea to stay is because we share the same taste in clothes, shoes……and, she wears everything well. Lily’s wardrobe is just as amazing with the best figure on Y&R. Sooooo, retire Cane, not Lily. Bring back Scott Elrod for her….sizzled!!!!!
There is no better person to judge a woman than another woman.
Mateo, although I may not agree with much of your comment, I still think your your post and writing is excellent and well-written….so, kudos.
I agree never liked PB for me Terry will be the only Jack for me this guy can’t act i heard Terry had passed so sorry a great actor
JT is too laid back an actor for me. I never saw the big deal about him on GH and I definitely am not seeing him as Billy after Billy Miller played the role. There was a boyish charm that let him “get away” with his screw ups and he and AH were wonderful together. Victoria lost some – most – of the playfulness in the absence of Miller’s Billy. With Miller’s portrayal to work off Victoria became less severe and more feisty. Now, she is back to her angsty self and becoming boring.
YES!!!!! Chaz: thank you. Finally, someone who sees what I see!!!!!! Hallelujah. I sort of felt lonely out here in the cold. LOL.
I could give to hoots about Victoria. nothing much to the character..
I do luv JT as Billy, he holds my interest.. and he is best looking of all the male Y&R characters. 😉
I don’t get why Billy doesn’t expose Travis! He is a lame ass Billy Miller want to be! I like Sharon and Chloe’s friendship. So we see how Dullon is going to leave now after he looses visitation rites. Bub bye! You see in this Thanksgiving episode why Y&R destroys GH in the ratings. The Newmans had a grand dinner event for the holiday, GH doesn’t have that family anymore! GH has too many characters, all be it talented with no logical connections! Weak.
Billy has no room to talk when it is about lying or cheating.
I agree. Neither one are good boys but with Travis being around Billy’s kids, I would put my foot down if I were Billy.
Let’s see: Ever since Billy Miller jumped ship from Y&R to GH a few years ago, Victoria (character-wise) has lost her way…and has become whiny, self-absorbed AND EVEN MORE ANNOYING!!!!! So, therefore, love triangle-wise, I’m supposed to care about NuBilly/Victoria/Travis because……….
I don’t think so.
N-o-p-e.
You’re right, jay. Victoria will never find her way back……I still like her, though.
TPTB had a good thing going between Amelia and Billy. That is a rare find with actors’ camaraderie. Dumb move, letting Billy M go!!
No matter how hard the ‘bosses’ try, they will not be able to recapture and maintain what they lost.
Good luck, with all my heart. I love Y&R!! My favorite soap of all time!!
Wow — wish this would slow down until we see the new writers. My god, people don’t have to get married every few years. Try and build something interesting without marriage and who is sleeping with whom. Can real life move into the Soaps?
Words to live by!!!!!! I have said this so many times, Tani. Why must these characters always have to play musical beds or marry, or be attached at the hip with a counterpart?… Give it a rest. It’s OK, right?
That is one of Sally’s gripes no real romance they sleep together then boom get married in two weeks.
@kay.
You’re right, Kay. I must have been born in the wrong generation. I am not only a nerd, but also a prude? How do you like that combination? LOL.
Seriously, Kay….I am all for living together to test the waters. No rush. Living in a domestic environment together opens one’s eyes to compatibility, or not.
But, I still have a hard time with one-night-stands and sleeping together on the first, second, third…..whatever, date.LOL.
Now, what are the chances that Victoria and Billy will fall into bed? Yes, they were married….but, they will never break this habit of on again, off again, if they do not give each other some space, this time around.
At this point, who really cares?? Sally Morina’s “Y & R” begins a week from this Wednesday Decenber 7th – this shizz will undoubtedly chucked down the pan and forgotten!
I just want Chuck “The Hack” Pratt’s “Y & R” to become a distant memory, as I’m sure many of you want the same thing.
Days Of Our Lives
‘Brilliant Minds’ Officially Canceled After 2 Seasons at NBC; DAYS Alum Al Calderon, OLTL Alum Teddy Sears and Zachary Quinto Among the Cast
After languishing on the bubble for months, on Friday, NBC handed down the decision and canceled the medical drama Brilliant Minds after two seasons.
Brilliant Minds stars Zachary Quinto as neurology physician Oliver Wolf, who’s character and the series is inspired by the life and books of neurologist. Oliver Sacks. The series focuses on the medical mysteries of the mind, as Wolf a larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns explore the last great frontier, the human mind, while grappling with their own relationships and mental health.
The final six episodes of what will now be the end of its second and final season were already set to air beginning on May 27, after being pulled off the network schedule in February as viewership saw a steep decline. Brilliant Minds second season became the lowest-rated drama on linear TV viewing, which didn’t bode well fo a network renewal, although it had its hard core fan base.

There are some exceptional notables in the cast along with the talented Quinto that includes Days of Our Lives alum, Al Calderon (ex-Javi Hernandez) who joined the series in its second season as Nurse Nico Silva, and One Life to Live alum, Teddy Sears (ex-Chad Bennett) who plays Wolf’s love interest and fellow physician, Dr. Josh Nichols.
The rest of the talented cast includes: Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Donna Murphy, John Clarence Stewart, and Brian Altemus.
In an ironic twist of fate on Thursday, April 30, Days of Our Lives finally revealed the actor who was Al Calderon’s successor in the role of Javi, when they announced that actor Jacob Martinez had now stepped into the role. Since DAYS tapes ten months ahead of streaming new episode, Calderon left in the spring of 2025, but will be seen in the part for the final part this month, and then on June 20, Martinez debuts as Salem’s new Javi.
Taking to his Instagram with a sorrowful and heartfelt post on the Brilliant Minds cancellation was Teddy Sears who wrote, “Thank you, Brilliant Minds. I got the call today and I didn’t want to hear, but I knew that it would come, You have to be a particular vintage to quote Don Henley from memory, but that’s the line that came to mind earlier today after I got off the phone with our inimitable showrunner Michael Grassi who delivered the news that NBC has cancelled the series”.

Photo: NBC
Sears continued, “To say that I feel sad to be moving on from these stories, this character, and this cast and crew just doesn’t paint the entire picture. I’m sad, sure. But I’m also deeply grateful that I got hired to play this part, so proud of the stories we told, and the other actors I got to play alongside. I’m excited to see what comes next, what adventures await, and terrified to be without a professional home. A quick and heartfelt thank you to everyone, all over the globe, who found us and found themselves in us, in our characters and in our stories. We wouldn’t have been able to tell them without you. Taking to his Instagram to celebrate the nominations, GH’s Bennett, enthused, “3 Critic Choice Nominations! I’m so proud of the FINDING MR CHRISTMAS and to be in the company of all the legends in all these categories is so surreal! Congrats to Hallmark Channel and to our nominated cast and nominated show and everyone who made this magical show possible. This is crazy! This gives FMC 6 Critics Choice nominations in 2 years. Not bad for a little show on Hallmark Channel. What are your thoughts on our show?” Jumping first into the comment thread was one of his new GH co-stars, Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) who expressed, “Yeah buddy!!!🔥🔥”
In the series, Bennett, the host and co-creator spends eight weeks guiding 10 aspiring actors through a series of “festive face-offs” and acting challenges alongside actors like soap opera notables, Hunter King (ex-Summer, Y&R) and Alison Sweeney (Sami, DAYS). Along the way, they develop their skills and a bond with one another. The show, which is available on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Plus, highlights LGBTQ+ representation with openly gay contestants vying to be the next Hallmark star.
It should be noted that Traitors received the most Critics Choice Real TV Award nominations with 6 nods, followed by Dancing with the Stars with 4.
Bennett is very familiar to daytime fans having started his career as JR Chandler on All My Children in 2000-2001, before landing the part of Aaron Samuels in the motion picture, Mean Girls in 2004 starring Lindsay Lohan, which would become his breakout performance.

‘General Hospital’s’ Kelly Thiebaud on Britt and Cassius Sibling Drama, But Who Will Ultimately Blow His Cover?
On the April 30 episode of General Hospital, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) had some choice words and warning for her brother Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) who has been masquerading as his twin, the very dead, Nathan West.
As the story has unfolded, viewers learned that Britt knew all along that when “Nathan” showed up in Port Charles seemingly resurrected with a missing 7 years of his life unexplained, that Cassius was taking his place.
Now in developments on today’s GH, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is figuring out that this guy pretending to be Nathan is someone else, and Cassius learns from Britt, that Joss is not just a ditzy sorority girl as he claimed, but a WSB agent! The moment stuns Cassius. Are the walls about to close in on him and his charade?

Daytime Emmy winner, Kelly Thiebaud spoke to Soap Opera Digest, about the story point and getting the opportunity this time back at GH to work with Ryan Paevey, when she hadn’t had the chance to before.
BROTHERLY LOVE?
Thiebaud expressed on sharing scenes with Ryan Paevey, “It’s just been so wonderful to have him back and to actually work with him! When he first came onto the show (as Nathan at the end of 2013) I was kind of heading out — it was right towards the end of my contract, so we didn’t actually work together a ton. It’s been really refreshing and so much fun to really spend time together and get to know each other and work together. I think we have really great on-camera chemistry and banter with each other. I really enjoy working with him.”
With the stakes at an all-time, Thiebaud explained how she views her on-screen alter-ego’s involvement with her more hot-to-temper sibling and why Britt revealed the truth about Josslyn to him. “People finding out about Cassius would expose what she’s involved in and what she agreed to do,” explains Kelly “And now Josslyn is digging around, and she’s connected to Carly (Laura Wright) to Jason (Steve Burton) and that whole dynamic! It’s messy!”
BRITT’S MURKY FUTURE
Britt has currently also reached her breaking point with Jason being carted away by the WSB, Rocco (Finn Carr), the child she gave birth to, shooting Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) to protect her and Jason, Marco (Adrian Anchondo) being killed after trying to help her, and Cullum holding over her head getting her Huntington’s disease medication to control her symptoms, while blackmailing her into finishing the research on her father, Cesar Faison’s, final project. Thiebaud summed it up best for Britt right now, sharing, “It’s been a really tough time for her.”
So, who do you think will be the person to blow Cassius’ cover? Will it be Britt herself? Josslyn? Liesl? Brennan? Nina? Lulu? Rocco, Maxie, Cullum or someone else? Let us know your pick in the comment section.
