THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS: Who Shot Adam?

Photo: JPI Studios

Things have gotten off to a rocky start for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) upon his return to Genoa City! Within a week’s time he has been shot at point blank rage! But whodunit?

It all went down at the end of Friday’s episode of the The Young and the Restless, when after getting into an argument with Victor (Eric Braeden) and learning that Nick (Joshua Morrow) hates him and is raising his son, Christian, and that Billy (Jason Thompson) hates him because he ran down his daughter, Delia, it’s too much for this amnesiac version of Adam to take.

Victor even reveals he is trying to locate Chelsea for him. But ultimately, at the tackhouse Adam shows Victor to the front door and notifies him he is going back to Vegas.

Courtesy/CBS

Victor comments, “You’re going to regret this!” And outside the door, Victor is deep in thought.  Later, as Adam’s bags are packed for his departure from Genoa City, there is a knock at the door.  When he opens it, he is shot in the stomach.

Earlier in the episode, Nick has been contacted by Chelsea who has been trying to contact him via multiple text messages.  But is it her?

As previewed on the latest promo for Y&R and upcoming teasers from SOD, Adam is wheeled into surgery, his brother and sister, Sharon (Sharon Case), and Victor, all worry about what will be the outcome, and when Adam comes out of his operation, he remembers Victor! Looks like his memory has returned, or has it?

Photo: JPI Studios

But the bigger question is:  Who do you think shot Adam?  Could it be Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan is returning to the show next month) ? Chloe? (There has been speculation that Elizabeth Hendrickson is returning to her role, especially from a recent photo she posted around Emmy time – see below -with her longtime Y&R co-star Greg Rikaart (Kevin), who is also back on the show) Or, could the shooter be shockingly Nick or Billy, or could it be just a gambler or a racketeer that Adam owes money to from his time in Vegas, and the gun shot was just to facilitate Adam regaining his memory, or could Adam have organized his own shooting?

Place your bets on who will be revealed to be Adam’s shooter by posting your theories via the comment section below.

My money is on Chloe. With Kevin coming back, Chloe doesn’t have much to lose (and we haven’t seen much of Elizabeth Hendrickson on GH lately). Kevin could end up raising Bella on his own. Billy would never shoot Adam knowing that he has a life with Victoria and his kids, Johnny and Katie. Nick has a lot to lose too, namely Christian and Faith along with his adult daughter, Summer. It’s too early for Chelsea to come back as MCE won’t be back on screen until late June. Victoria wouldn’t do it either. Yes, she and Adam have had… Read more »

Even though I am liking GH right now, Elizabeth Hendrickson is being wasted. I can see her coming back to Y&R. If so, my money is on her or Kevin.

I was thinking Chloe, as well, Michael……isn’t Kevin making an appearance? Perhaps, he knew what Chloe was up to and followed her?
Another possibility is the person who helped Adam escape the fire? He could not have managed to come out of that inferno unscathed/alive without help, I would think.
I don’t know if Nick has the heart to shoot in cold blood!! How about Tessa? Ian Ward? Zack is not really dead?

It’s probably that miniature maniac Chloe again……yawn and zzzzzzzz. I am bored with the story line–re living and replaying the Delia revenge story for the third time is boring to me.

Hi Harry ..
ahh ha! yes the Delia Revenge will only accomplish Nick being a pouty man child being done wrong..
Nick is such a sniveler haa what a weenie he is..

So, not looking forward to watching that but looking forward to Adam taking someone down because I need some action !!

Hi Harry
I can’t stand that “mini maniac” either. She’s even worse on GH, with her dumb support of Shiloh.

Yeah, Harry….right? Let the girl “rest” in peace.
If anything, I wish someone would shoot Cane and get him out of his misery!!

If Chloe it has been done- it would have been her third attempt. If Vegas people, who cares, never saw them on screen. It would never be Billy, Nick or Victor. If he is old style Adam and had himself shot that is possible. Other suspects not mentioned. The son of the terminal man Adam hired to be his body in the explosion at the GCAC or Patty Williams, who he duped into confessing murdering said same man. This shooting would revisited that part of Adam’s history to get newer viewers caught up Personally I am hoping this guy will… Read more »

Ok-
I’ve changed my thoughts about the new Adam/Mark Grossman.
The man is a talented actor and has made his presence known as Adam.
He is not MM, but then, no one is, but Mark is doing very well.

He still looks too young for Sharon but his demeanor is overplaying that fact.

So yah- I’m liking this guy 🙂

I’m looking forward to the mini-wars that are to come.
And I’m luvin’ that Victor is back in action !

I need more time, SusieQ…..Can’t put my finger on this thing that bugs me about nuAdam. He is not the truculent meanie I expected.
I guess he will grow into Adam’s pants. We shall see. He strikes me more as the recalcitrant Newman brat, than the methodical sycophant.

The killer will be connected to Vegas in the end but show will use the story to bring Chelsea back, Kevin and Chloe, etc.

Next to return is, I hope and pray, Gloria. Fresh off winning the lottery and millions of bucks. She will buy into Jabot and instead of getting she will be giving orders.

Richard I can’t tell you how sick I am of Victor fawning all over this son, who has been nothing but trouble for him and the whole family and so many others, from the minute he appeared in G.C all grown up. Sharon, blabbing on about what he had done for her, never mentioning what he’d done TO her, stealing her newborn baby and giving her to Ashley to make up for causing her to lose her own. I am not going to bore you or anyone else with the terrible things he’s done to so many people. The fans… Read more »

I could care less who shot Adam, actor is fine, but do not like the character, unless they change him completely, which I don’t see happening. What would be the point? So saying all that, my vote is that he had himself shot, because any one else mentioned, would have killed him, maybe aiming for his head or heart, not the gut. Also Vegas people would have looked for and taken the money sitting in plain sight. The shooter never entered the house.

What a little worm Adam is and always has been. He falsified DNA to give Christian to Nick, and now he wants him back. No surprise there. I hope everyone who wanted this jerk back is happy.

Hey, Miss Violet, I’ve always maintained that Christian is really Nick’s……after all the back and forth “switcheroos”, the “woe is me”-s; the less-than-honest actions by Victor ( whose nose and hand have to be in everyone’s life) and Adam’s ( like father–like son) vulpine personality, I have the temerity to say and believe something is afoot…..That is, Victor is at the bottom of it all and he will be found out. The problem is, Violet, the PTB steadfastly lead us in one direction, expecting them to make a right turn; then do a number on us, and make a left… Read more »

Hey Celia, If this were real life and not reel, I would just say, from your mouth to God’s ear, but I sure hope you are right. On a couple of other previous comments made by you, Harry and myself about Eliz.Hendrickson. I have been wondering about all the pledges Shiloh has been collecting on GH, including Margaux’s. My big question is, isn’t having sex with his victim one of his requirements? Have we ever seen a tattoo on her? He would probably need bricks to hold her down.Yuk! Sorry, just being silly. What about the men? I wonder if… Read more »

Uuuuuu!! Love the play-on-words, Miss Vi—real, reel. Nice!! You know, I love ‘silly’…..I love the ‘ridiculous….I see “funny” in anything, if the mood strikes me. However, while I do enjoy quirky personalities, weird thinking, and belly laughs; I am not entertained by less than interesting writing. This is forced. These victims’ intelligence is above the norm—-their experiences in life, as mature adults, are vast; thus, it’s baffling for them to fall prey to such manipulation. Kristina is exempt—she’s young, I guess, and gullible. Considering her disillusionment in love, lack of closeness to her mother, a criminal for a father, a… Read more »

Perhaps she was named as an homage to that hot mess of a ‘70’s supermodel for a moment, Margaux Hemingway? Just a thought, CeeCeeGirl! Anyway, it’s been quite awhile…wanted to take the opportunity to say hello and wish you a “Happy Vineyard Summer”…It is that time again, isn’t it, mia amica?

Well, hiyah, Shaybelle!!!!!! Long time—-yeah…Hemingway and his two granddaughters! I heard of both, but did not know Margaux was a model—could not have been well-known as Tiegs, Jerry Hall, Beverly Johnson etc.
We are having a family reunion this summer on MV in August—very exciting—-family coming from Holland, Scotland, Australia, Canada, S. Africa, Norway and Lord knows where else!!
Can’t wait to meet all the new “additions”—
So happy to hear from you, cara.❤️

Au contraire, CeeCeeGirl! Margaux was an uber-famous femme of the ‘70’s, and not just because of her last name and legendary grandfather…she was the first model to land a million-dollar contract when she was signed as the face of Faberge’s “Babe” fragrance and later, cosmetics line! It was omnipresent in the mid-to-late part of the decade and even though I was too young to be a prospective consumer, I remember all the splashy magazine ads promoting the products! Hemingway had that very “glamazon” look…bold beauty and statuesque, athletic build….she really did photograph amazingly with her unique features. She was on… Read more »

‘Morning, Shay, Agreed—Margaux was stunning—I was sort of taken aback; she had my nose, LOL. How tragically was this family ( collectively) cursed? So sad!! There is a third (middle) sister, Joan, I had no idea existed. She is as bitten by the ‘curse’ as the rest. Sigh. Yes, ma belle, my family and then some, has been having these reunions for decades—every five years. The last one was in Australia…..of course, I did not go due to the fact that I had just given birth—and had a hard time of it!! As I said; I will be meeting the… Read more »

I guess I missed your last sentence of comment, but I would like to think that Sage had more class than to sleep with the likes of Victor. That brings up another question. Celia, So enjoyed your last two comments. They are always so enlightening and interesting. I took French for only one semester, so what I know is next to nothing. I think I can count to twenty, say the months and days of the week and a few phrases.I guess we share the same sense of humour, in that I also find so many things funny. Hey, Miss Violet, It’s encouraging knowing someone else with an “off” sense of humor. LOL. Where is it written that there’s an age limit to a fantastic sense of humor? Warped or otherwise? No way, my friend. You are as physically and mentally young as you feel. I would have never guessed. You are ageless to me. Does not matter–we communicate well!! No, it’s not a typo……I meant “messed”, in quotes. Victor has messed with 99% of GC’s female population….even the prison medic. HaHa. As far as finding the time to watch my three soaps—rarely do I watch when they are broadcast. I indulge at night—-

@CeeCee….Reading Violet’s and your vivid descriptions of Victor Newman’s propensity for collecting female conquests strikes me as being very similar to Port Charles’ own resident “Don Juan,” Sonny Corinthos! Guess all soaps have to have one, eh? Hah!

General Hospital

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Marcus Learns He’s Not Trina’s Biological Father

On Wednesday’s episode of General Hospital, Trina (Tabyana Ali) opened the DNA test results that would conclude who is her actual bio-dad. Would it be the man who raised her, Taggert (Réal Andrews) or, the man she more recently has come to know, Curtis (Donnell Turner)?

At GH, Marcus, Curtis and Portia (Brook Kerr) gather to learn the results.  It turns out that Curtis is Trina’s biological father, not Marcus.

However, are these results, correct? Are DNA results ever correct on soaps? Did Selina Wu (Lydia Look) have something to do with switching these in favor of Curtis? Are we digging into this too much?

After the revelation, Trina tells Curtis. they will need to take some time need to figure out their relationship.  Trina makes it clear she’s not looking for a replacement father, and hopes he can understand and accept that.  Curtis promises he will let Trina take the lead on things.

Meanwhile, Taggert, who promised Trina no matter what happens that nothing will change between them, decides to take off and breaks down in the elevator.  Marcus is devastated and in tears, and is left using the elevator as a punching bag for his fists.

You can watch the final moments of the scene, featuring a heart-tugging performance by Réal Andrews below.

Now let us know, are you glad Trina’s bio-dad turned out to be Curtis and not Marcus … or were you hoping it would turn out the other way around? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: Hope is Drowning in a River of Denial Over Thomas: “Is it so Wrong to Admit I’m Human?”

Tuesday’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, brought Hope (Annika Noelle) more confrontations on the matter of her feelings for Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson).

First, after telling Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) off for going to her husband, Liam (Scott Clifton), about her suspicions that she has feelings for her brother, Hope then had to contend with her mother, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang).

When Brooke comes to Hope’s design office, after receiving a text from her daughter, Hope launches into how Steffy is back at interfering in her marriage. Hope goes on and on about how Steffy is planting seeds of doubt with her husband, who was blindsided to hear she has feelings for his arch-enemy, Thomas.  When Brooke learns what prompted Steffy to say such things to Liam, Brooke asks, “Is there any validity to this? Have you developed feelings for Thomas?”  From that point on, Hope is talking herself, and to her mother, in circles.

Courtesy/CBS

Hope claims she doesn’t want anything more from Thomas than to be co-parents, designing co-workers, and friends.  However, she then takes a pause, and tells her mom, “Is it so wrong to admit that I’m human?” Brooke wonders, “What does that mean?”  It is then, that Hope admits that she thinks Thomas is good-looking and funny, and that after all, they do spend 14 hours a day working together.

When Brooke pushes her on this, Hope tries to underplay it by admitting, “I felt a little something.” A shocked Brooke says, “For Thomas?! It’s not nothing!” Then, Hope, who is drowning in the river of denial, claims she wouldn’t cross the line with Thomas … that she is happily married, and she’s in control.  She just wished Steffy would have kept her big mouth shut.

Photo: Gilles Toucas/Bell-Phillip TV

However, the more Hope says to Brooke, the more her mother realizes that Hope is struggling with her true feelings for Thomas.  Hope in tears says, “Liam is the love of my life.”  Hmm. We think, the lady doth protest too much.

Photo: CBS

No matter how Hope tries to fool herself, or say the words out loud, that is clearly not how she feels.  Hope wants Thomas, and now the question is … just when and how will her affair with Thomas begin?  Throughout the scenes, Annika Noelle played them to perfection, even though many viewers are quite annoyed with Hope at this point.

So, what do think should happen next? Clearly, Hope wants to think she can keep her feelings for Thomas under wraps when she can’t.  Share your thoughts in the comment section.

AEW ‘Double or Nothing’ 2023: MJF Retains, Takeshita Turns Heel, Kris Statlander and Toni Storm New Title Holders

Sunday’s AEW Double or Nothing live on pay-per-view emanating, once again, from Las Vegas, had a stacked double main event, which saved the show after a lackluster beginning.

There were some title changes, major spots, a heel turn, blood and guts and tables, that kept it entertaining for AEW wrestling fans.

Let’s break down some of the key matches:

MJF vs. Darby Allin vs Jack Perry vs, Sammy Guevera – The Four Pillars four-way for the AEW Championship

Photo: AEW

AEW has developed these four wrestlers and more into stars in their own right. When the bell rang, all four delivered high-flying maneuvers with clever storytelling along the way. Selling their in-ring personas, mixed with real-life emotion.

Guevera is still, to us, the one with the most exciting moves, while MJF stands as the complete package, getting the fans riled up, while showing his in-ring prowess. Allin is one of the hardest working wrestlers out there and ‘Jungle Boy’ Jack Perry has come so far.

In a key moment in the bout, when Perry had the championship belt in hand and could have ‘legally’ used it on Allin to secure the victory, in a moment of conflicted emotion, tossed it out of the ring.

That allowed MJF to eventually plant the world championship belt on Perry’s chest while Allin went for his signature ‘coffin drop’ off the top rope ring corner. However, Allin landed on the belt in pain. That opened the door for MJF to seize the opportunity to secure the win with a head-lock takeover to retain the title.

Tay Conti and Sammy Guevera Expecting a Baby

Before the match, Tay Conti and Guevera emerged on the entrance ramp.  Sammy brought along his old gimmick of poster boards with messages on them.  The surprise message was for all of AEW and the fans in attendance.  Conti and Guevera, who are married in real life, revealed that Conti is pregnant with their fist child!

The Blackpool Combat Club vs. The Elite – Anarchy in the Arena

Photo: AEW

Imagine a wrestling match all over the T-Mobile Arena going down while a band plays The Troggs, “Wild Thing” the entire time! That’s what happened during the capper to Double or Nothing.  AEW fans know that Jon Moxley’s entrance theme song is that track.  So, this year, why not play it live? The lead singer wore a disturbing black mask, where he eventually received a boot to the head from The Elite for his troubles of aligning himself with the BCC.

This match (if you can call it that) was literally all over the arena and in the parking lot.  Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli vs. Kenny Omega, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson brought out the barbed wire, forks, screwdrivers, tables, thumbtacks, and anything else you could find lying around the arena or under the ring, as weapons.

It finally came to a conclusion when Omega’s trader-of-a-former manager, Don Callis, distracted Kenny Omega and his new protégé Konosuke Takeshita emerged disguised as a camera man and kicked and attacked Omega.  Next, Yuta hit Omega with the actual screwdriver (the latest favorite weapon of the BCC) and pinned Kenny.

Now, questions remain. Are Callis and Takeshita aligned with the BCC? Why did Takeshita who was a fan favorite turn heel? With the Forbidden Door pay-per-view coming up shortly, it would seem this turn was to infuse a main event featuring Omega and a few of his friends! After the show went off the air Kenny previewed he may have one or two buddies on the way to help him out.

Jade Cargill vs. Taya Valkyrie – Jade Cargill vs. Kris Statlander

Photo: AEW

The best ring entrance of the night belonged to Cargill. The Women’s TBS Champion came down to the ring accompanied by a performance by Big Boss Vette of her track ‘Pretty Girls Walk’.  Along with her A.K.A. sorority sisters, Cargill also busted out some dance moves.

Putting her amazing 60-0 streak on the line, many thought Taya Valkyrie who has the size and the moves to give Cargill a run for her money, would win the title on her second attempt against Jade. That was not meant to be.  Cargill pinned Valkyrie. Then, getting too big for their britches, Jade’s manager, Mark Sterling took to the mic and offered up an open challenge.  Shocking everyone, Kris Statlander came out from the back and ran in the ring and quickly defeated Cargill to win the belt.  It should be noted, Statlander was out of commission from her ACL surgery, following a previous surgery on her other knee.  The crowd went nuts. Cargill was an outstanding champion though, by her own design.  What a great story to have Statlander comeback and win a title! She shared her emotions and emotional story during the AEW post show media scrum.

Toni Storm vs. Jamie Hayter

Photo: AEW

We kind of saw this one coming, did you? AEW Women’s champion, Jamie Hayter, was obviously hurt, so taking the belt off of her to heal up was the move … but, this also seem to be the move to have Hayter win back the belt in front of her hometown crowd in August when AEW has its first live show in London, England at Wembley Stadium.

In the storyline, Toni Storm, who previously held the belt as ‘interim champ” when she was a babyface, defeated Hayter. Her win comes with the help of her bff’s The Outcasts (Saraya and Ruby Soho).  During the post-show media scrum, Storm stayed in character, defiant, and related how this title reign will be much different than when she was more innocent and let people walk all over her.

Chris Jericho vs. Adam Cole

Courtesy/AEW

The worst match of the night, unfortunately, belonged to Chris Jericho and Adam Cole in their unsanctioned duel. The crowd was dead during it, the action just felt forced, Sabu’s appearance was useless, and all of it led to a fireball in the face to some guy in the back post-match, setting up a mixed tag match for Jericho and Saraya vs. Cole and Britt Baker D.M.D, this week on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.

In Other Bouts …

Courtesy/AEW

Orange Cassidy finished off Swerve Stickland to retain his AEW International Championship in a 21-man battle royale,

FTR defeated Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal to retain the AEW Tag Team belts after special referee Mark Briscoe had enough of Double J’s antics.

The House of Black retained their Trios championship titles against the The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn.

Wardlow defeated Christian Cage to retain the TNT championship.

So, what did you think about the double main event at Double or Nothing 2023? What are your thoughts on who kept their titles and who was crowned new champs? What was the best and worst part of the PPV? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
