THIS WEEK: BOLD is Back! What Are You Looking Forward to Most in All-New Episodes?

Photo: CBS

The wait is over for fans of The Bold and the Beautiful and daytime soaps, when the CBS Daytime drama is the first soap back with all-new episodes beginning on Tuesday, July 21st.

The series under the helm of executive producer and head writer, Brad Bell, was widely touted and widely quoted in the mainstream media for just how they were going to deal with making a soap opera, look like a soap opera, amidst the coronavirus pandemic that is gripping our country, Los Angeles county where the show is shot, and the world.

With protocols in place and ways to work around the intimate scenes; which have been previously documented by stand-ins being the significant real-life partners of the various cast members, to blow up dolls, to clever ways to edit the scenes together, viewers will get a first glimpse on just how that may look this week and as the series moves forward.

On Monday, look for a recap episode to catch you up on where things left off for your favorite characters, before jumping back into the current storylines on Tuesday.

Then, as previously previewed on Tuesday, here’s what to look for: Wyatt (Darin) walks into the beach house and is dismayed by what he sees. Meanwhile, Bill (Don Diamont) tells Katie (Heather Tom) he will accept any consequence from his actions, except losing Katie and their family. Also, Sally (Courtney Hope) and Dr. Escobar (Monica Ruiz) haul the unconscious Flo (Katrina Bowden) to Sally’s apartment, where they tie her to the radiator. When Flo realizes she has been kidnapped, she is appalled by Sally’s actions.

Plus, look for a big new storyline for Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy) to kick-off on Wednesday’s July 22nd episode when: Steffy  heads out on her motorcycle for some quality “me” time and is involved in an accident. Note: This episode was filmed before the pandemic shut down production.  And be on the look out for Steffy’s new reported love interest, Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) to arrive on the scene on Thursday’s July 23rd  installment.

So, what story are you most looking to see play out when The Bold and the Beautiful begins to air all-new episodes? Let us know via the comment section, but first check Jacqueline MacInnes Wood and B&B’s promo heralding their new episodes below.

Dump the stupid Sally story line.

Have Liam grow a spine and stay with either Hope or Steffy not switching them like you would change tires.

Have Brooke be alone for awhile.

Bring back Rick Bridget and Thorne

Have Kate make Bill grovel to get her back and sign agreement that if he cheats on her she gets control of his company.

Does anyone know why Heather Thom left y n r and went to sister soap B n B?
Since i started watching several years ago none of her stories are very compelling. Alcholism, health scare and cheating spouses!….. yawn, yawn and yawn
Meanwhile over at Y n R , Amelia Heinle has business and romance plots galore to herself!
Such a great actress, so wasted. I wish Bill Bell would really use her talents more. She just won another Emmy…

Heather Lindell and a Host of Others Return to Days of our Lives

Kicking off the fall, Days of our Lives has released their latest promo heralding the upcoming returns and more current returns to the NBC daytime drama series that should have fans excited.

Back to cause trouble is none other than Heather Lindell, who was the best part of the DOOL app’s, Last Blast Reunion series when she caused havoc for the “Last Blast Crew” with Jan Spears kind of crazy.  That means that Heather Lindell will be back on the airshows and Jan back in Salem.

Then, next week look for the return of Marci Miller in the role of Abigail Deveraux DiMera; a part she was nominated twice for her work in the Outstanding Lead Actress category at the Daytime Emmys.

Next, Tripp returns when Lucas Adams reprises the role of the son of Ava Vitali and Steve “Patch” Johnson; what will bring him back to Salem? Meanwhile, Stacy Haiduk and Eric Martsolf are back as Kristen and Brady, as are Jay Johnson and Nadia Bjorlin as Phillip and Chloe.

In a surprise, Casey Moss looks to be back on DAYS as well, reprising his role as JJ, as are Belle and Shawn played by Martha Madison and Brandon Beemer

At the top of the promo are Alison Sweeney as Sami and Camila Banus as Gabi; both actresses will be back at DAYS after finishing up their last runs.

The daytime drama begins production again next week following a lengthy shutdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but having the luxury of episodes in the banked through mid-October.

So, who’s return are you looking forward to the most? Comment below, but first check out the NBC promo!

THIS WEEK: A Martinez Returns to Days of our Lives

One of the finest actors we know and who has ever graced the daytime screens, A Martinez is reprising his role as Eduardo Hernandez, the father to Gabi and Rafe, this week on the NBC long-running series, Days of our Lives.

Martinez is back to help usher off the canvas, Galen Gering (Rafe) and Camila Banus (Gabi), who before recent news wrapped up their run with this week of episodes, but over the last week and half, as viewers have read in the press, both Gering and Banus will now be returning to the show at some point in the fall, after the series returns to production on September 1st.

A told Soap Opera Digest (in their latest issue on newsstands now) that he was thrilled to get the call to come back, but that when he didn’t originally know the storyline he would be in involved the exit of Banus and Gering.

Martinez shared: “I got the call from my agent, saying, ‘DAYS is interested in having you back to do this  little arc of a story’.  My first response was complete celebration.  And then when i found out what it was, I felt kind of lousy about it on a certain level. But this is the nature of the beast, especially at this point,”

The Daytime Emmy winner for his role as Cruz Castillo on Santa Barbara also added about playing Eduardo: “I think he’s a wonderful character, I love playing him, He is so rich and deep and so wounded.”

In an Instagram post on Sunday, heading into Eduardo’s re-emergence on DAYS on Monday’s episode which sets the stage for Gering and Banus’ exits, Martinez shared: “I’ve played more problematic fathers than Eddie Hernandez — but not by much. Tomorrow he returns to Salem to blow up the lives of two of his children, harder and colder about it than when last we saw him, on his way to prison. A couple of years ago, when we learned about his horrific, emotionally disfiguring childhood, we understood the way he got be the way he is, and for me, in the playing, it anchored my affection for him. But to witness him now, forever on the run from his demons and still endangering everyone he claims to care about, it’s hard to muster a lot of sympathy for the dude. And yet, I do… maybe because it’s my job. And I always savor the chance to hit the stage with these fearless, steadfast actors.”

Now the question becomes: after the exit of Gabi and Rafe, and when they eventually return, will Eduardo be back with them, making the Hernandez family a unit again?  Share your thoughts via the comment section below, and also let us know if you will be  glad to see A again this week on DAYS!
