THIS WEEK: Jason Thompson Featured In Standalone Episode of Y&R

Photo: JPI

As Billy (Jason Thompson) has been battling his inner demons and an alternate personality had emerged, which was caused by his deep vendetta with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman),  and the loss of his daughter Delia.

Now, The Young and the Restless is going to explore that deeper with Jason Thompson front and center in his own Billy-centric standalone episode set to air this Tuesday, September 17th.  The hour will focus on Billy grappling with his emotional trauma.

For weeks now, Billy has not been acting like himself as tried to kill Adam, and later was taken to a cabin by Kevin (Greg Rikaart) and Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) to try to get him stabilized.  However, Billy does not remember when this dark version of himself emerges as he sets out to get at Adam.

In the latest promo for Y&R, Billy is seen choking himself as both he and his alter-ego seem to battle it out.  Look for others to appear in the episode along with Thompson including: Peter Bergman (Jack), Jess Walton (Jill), and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis)

In the hands of the incredibly talent Thompson, we know this will be a can’t-miss performance, as Jason always delivers and gives 110% to his work.

Check out the promo here ….  which also features Victor’s((Eric Braeden) life and death situation, and then let us know if you are looking forward to seeing the standalone episode with Jason via the comment section below.

Jason has been KILLING it as Billy!! I hope the recent rumours of Billy Miller returning are false. Dont get me wrong…I like Miller, but during his last yesr or so at Y and R, and basically his entire tenure at GH, he was just sleepwalking (ironic) through his parts. Millers version of Billy was more a man child, but the character has changed snd matured. Jason plays an adult Billy. He still has that reckless, inmature side, but its different. Some of his scenes with this alter ego have been chilling and haunting! He is definitely a front runner… Read more »

I think if they even attempted to do that to Jason I think viewers would be throwing a fit their ratings are already in the tank over some choices they have made .

I agree as well I said the same about what I called the Phyliss exchange. I was so use to Gina and and what she did with the character that I am still trying to get use to Michelle Stafford I love Jason and Amelia together I to was team Miller. but since the the whole JT situation I felt the chemistry between them and I am hooked. Hoping another switch does not occur. I loving Jason as Billy

Theo creeps me out. Just the mere mention of his name makes my skin crawl. Now I know this sounds like a stupid question, but is Victor really dead, or does Nate have him in hiding somewhere and is Abby going to be manless yet again. As an on and off viewer since the mid eighties, and a steady one for the past 6 or so years, it will be weird not seeing Victor go off on his rants. Time will tell I guess. And on a side note, I like the pairing of Abby and Nate. But I have… Read more »

Don’t worry they are setting Adam up you could not get rid of Braeden with a crowbar he thinks he is the show just like MB over on GH ! It’s a ensemble effort that makes it work always has always will be. Why JG is still hung up on this Delia stuff I guess his hatred for Pratt’s version of the story years ago but I think he needs to wrap it up. Hartley was never Adam to me just never cared for his version

I always thought Michael Michal Muney was wonderful as Adam. Loved his chemistry with Chelsea. Loved the whole story of their beginning, where he helps her get her GED and then dresses her for a formal party, (Iforgot what the party was for) and than he proposed to her in the rain. Loved it. Thanks for listening and thanks for the info. Happy viewing. And I agree with you on the Delia story. Enough is enough,

Miller doesn’t have the gravitas that Jason has.

Jason is a much better Billy than Miller was.. He is by far better.
Jason is a power acter. He delivers every time.
Looking forward to the episode.
I have no complaints about Jason/Billy.
Well, ahh one.
He sits with his legs spread so far apart yah could park a Volkswagen between them, that irritates me LOL ..

Also- I like the switches of Nina and Phyllis..
I like the new Nina better than MS’s and am loving MS back where she belongs as Phyllis!!
As for Billy Miller- GH did him wrong, terribly wrong. Wasted a great talent.

No doubt Jason is awesome but for the life of me-as much as I detest the character of Adam (the only time I liked him was when Justin Hartley played the role) Adam DID NOT deliberately set out to kill Delia! OMG, Billy made so many mistakes that led to her death, i.e taking the dog to the event, leaving her & the dog in the car alone when he stopped for ice cream and not locking them in! Adam very clearly stopped the car & got out & looked & saw the dog running off. He did not know… Read more »

I will probably get a lot of grief over this, but I found the whole Billy thing rather boring. I’ve heard of fighting demons, but this was a little over the top.
And come on, when and where did Victoria earn her Psychiatrist degree? It was just too unreal for me.Otherwise, Jason did a good enough job with the script he was given.

Forgot to mention that Delia’s corneas ended up in Connor’s eyes- GOOD LORD. How would Adam admit that he hit Delia in those circumstances! Lose/lose for Adam.

I watched the show and all I have to say is this: JASON BLEW ME AWAY!!! This was hands down the best work I have seen Jason do to date. He is guaranteed an Emmy nomination…..they might as well just give him the gold now. Also, this was by far the best episode Y&R has put out there in YEARS!! The writing was brilliant, directing was superb, the camera work was well done and the other cast members brought their A game and lastly, the special effects they used to show Billy falling to pieces was really cool. I cannot… Read more »

Cracks me up so many people assumed that Billy Miller was going to immediately go to Young and the Restless and “steal” poor Jason Thompson’s job. That’s what I actually read online. I think people should wait and see exactly what is going to happen first before assuming that. Right now, Billy Miller is doing a prime time role. If he does decide to ever go back to soaps,(and he may not) Maybe he will go to another soap altogether. Actually, being a big Billy Miller fan, I would prefer he does that rather than going to Young and the… Read more »

Jason Thompson is a great actor but this fighting demons story line is really depressing. When his family members including his dead child are telling him he is worthless and to run away, all I could think of is I hope no clinically depressed person is watching this. I hope Y & R has a public service announcement advising people to seek mental health treatment with a phone number for mental health services if they are in a dark place and I hope Billy resolves his issues by going to a qualified mental health practitioner.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Will Nina’s Guilty Conscience Ruin a Marriage Proposal From Sonny?

This week on General Hospital, Sonny (Maurice Benard) has a marriage proposal for Nina (Cynthia Watros).  However, she’s feeling the walls may be closing in on her when she regrets her actions against Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Carly (Laura Wright).  As GH viewers know, she had turned them into the SEC for insider trading as a revenge-tactic against Carly.

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, Sonny (Maurice Benard) is set to take a big step and ask Nina to marry him.  This, comes on the heels of Nina bowing out of attending Michael (Chad Duell) and Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) wedding, to keep the peace in the family, and letting him attend alone.

On the latest developments, Maurice Benard shared with SOD on the marriage proposal: “It’s not an immediate yes from Nina. I think because she’s already done the bad deed (of calling the SEC).  She’s trying to get out of it, so she doesn’t dig herself deeper.”

Previewing Sonny’s profession of love to Nina, the three-time Daytime Emmy winner said of the upcoming scenes: “That was my job as an actor, to convince her in this monologue that, ‘I don’t care about what you’ve done.’ He doesn’t care about anything but her, ‘and I love you, and let’s do this.'”

As to how he thinks Sonny’s proposal to Nina stacks up with others in his GH career, “I’m not saying this is the best, but I am saying it’s up there with the best that I’ve had.”

Of course, what will happen if Sonny finds out what Nina did to Carly with the SEC insider trading deception? Stay tuned.

Check out the promo for this week’s GH below, then let us know. Are you hoping Sonny and Nina get engaged? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

Y&R’s Sharon Champagne Mystery Gift Will Soon Be Her Worst Nightmare. Who Is Watching Her?

You know it’s going to be ‘Creepsville’ when you receive a bottle of champagne with a stain of blood on it and a card that goes with the gift that says, “Memories are what life is made of”.  Cue all of the speculation for The Young and the Restless Sharon Case (Sharon) and her new storyline.

It’s been a minute since the character has been front-burner, but this storyline really kicking off this week on the CBS soap opera, will put the now Daytime Emmy-nominated Case in an intense and dramatic story.

Courtesy/CBS

If you saw Friday’s episode of Y&R, you know that Sharon received a champagne bottle as a supposed gift, but has no idea who sent it to her.  Meanwhile, lurking outside of Crimson Lights is someone keeping tabs on her.

The rumors are running rampant, and it would seem to be on track, with fans of Y&R believing that the diabolical Cameron Kirsten is back and  will terrorize Sharon some decades later. The character last appeared on the soap opera back in August of 2004.  Add to the fact that Kirsten’s portrayer, Linden Ashby is married in real life to Susan Walters, who plays Diane Jenkins on the series, it all makes sense.

Courtesy” CBS

For a bit of a walk down memory lane: Cameron Kirsten had sex with Sharon in a hotel room and then beat her. Later, he turned up in Genoa City threatening her if she didn’t meet him for a hook-up.  On one fateful New Year’s eve, Kirsten tried to rape Sharon.  She bashed him over the head with, wait for it, a champagne bottle in self defense.  Poor Sharon then had to dispose of his body.   However, eventually, he turned up alive and then ended up behind bars.  Smart money is he is out of jail and coming back to GC with his eye on making Sharon’s life a living hell.

During the Michael Fairman Channel’s Daytime Emmy Nomination Special 2023, Case revealed she was working hard on a ‘big’ new storyline. She also had admitted she couldn’t say with who, because at the time they hadn’t aired yet.

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, Y&R’s EP and head writer, Josh Griffith teased: “Sharon decides to throw out the champagne bottle thinking this will put an end to her uneasy feelings. Little does she know this gift is just the beginning of a very wild ride.:

Check out the previews for this week’s Y&Rm and a key scene from last Friday’s episode below.

Now let us know, do you think it will be revealed that Cameron Kirsten is stalking Sharon? Share your theories via the comment section.

American Idol

‘American Idol’ Season 21 Finale Preview: Who Should Win … Colin Stough, Megan Danielle or Iam Tongi?

It could be a nail-biter for tonight’s three finalists to be named the next American Idol. ABC has planned a live coast-to-coast, three-hour season finale event featuring special performances from music legends and today’s top artists.  Meanwhile, the Top 3 contestants take the stage for the final time competing for America’s vote.

Now, while it has appeared that the biggest pop and fan reaction in-studio has consistently belonged to Iam Tongi, that doesn’t mean that Colin Stough or Megan Danielle don’t have a chance!  Over the years, viewers have seen the nationwide vote, not match up with the predicted winner.

Photo: ABC

On Sunday night’s May 21st season finale (beginning at 8 p.m. EST), in addition to this year’s top 12 returning to the stage one last time, Keith Urban, Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken, Ellie Goulding, Jelly Roll, Pitbull, TLC, James Blunt, Jazmine Sullivan, REO Speedwagon’s Kevin Cronin, Kylie Minogue, Lainey Wilson and Lauren Daigle, plus Idol hosts, Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, are all said to be performing.

Let’s take a look at the Top 3 vying for the title:

COLIN STOUGH

Photo: ABC

This southern ‘good ole’ boy and young man loves his momma, and he has made that quite clear during his performances.  Stough’s gritty voice and his stellar performance of Robyn’s Dancing on My Own, could make this a second year in a row that America voted for the singer who was most ‘rough around the edges’ performing-wise, but won their hearts, think Noah Thompson, ya’ll!

MEGAN DANIELLE

Photo: ABC

Clearly, the vocalist of all vocalists of the top singers that remained in the competition.  She has the raspy alto that has made her unique, and loves her country and gospel tunes. Her own personal idol, Lauren Daigle, who showed up during her Idol audition, is on tonight’s line-up. So, stand by for a duet between the two. Meanwhile, last week’s performance on ‘Disney Night’ of  You Can’t Stop The Girl, truly showed her vocal chops in the most magnificent way.

IAM TONGI

Photo: ABC

Throughout the competition, Tongi’s silky smooth vocals and heartfelt simplistic renditions of popular songs, have grabbed the attention of the judged and America from the start.  The loss of his father, and the man who gave him, his now famous guitar, has been one of the major storylines of the season.  Tongi’s audition of James Blunt’s Monsters  brought Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie to tears.  Throughout the season, Tongi has been the most consistent performer.

Now, let us know in the comment section below if Colin, Megan or Iam should be named the next ‘American Idol’ on tonight’s season finale.
