I am so happy. I miss looking forward to a new episode but now I can’t wait for Monday to begin. And I am glad they are not waiting for sweeps week to pull out some good old fashion drama. As for the ranch all I can say is ” burn baby burn” Josh has done us a favour by having Sharon get rid of that eye sore that was decorated back in the 80’s. The reason Victor is so rich is because he never spend a dime on new furniture for his home or office in twenty years. But decor aside, this week promises to bring what I love in a soap, drama, romance, some humour thrown in, so like I said earlier, I am so happy.

Sharon just did not like the curtains! They are not rebuilding it seems they are moving to a penthouse years ago Victor had one! I think old Adam protects Sharon and I do not think anyone is going to know for a while if ever about her redecorateing skills.

The Penthouse– they still have that thing in moth balls somewhere–wow. Well lets hope JFP found some money in petty cash to at least spring for a new paint job. I shouldn’t complain, over on Days, they use parts of other sets to make new ones and don’t even attempt to disguise it. There is one wall with cupboards on it that has been a lawyer’s office, the police conference room, the detective’s office and I think someone’s apartment. On Y&R the sets may be old but they are trying to pass off one set for another by changing the furniture it in.

No I think it is a new set they are building and that picture that Sharon is standing in front of has been crooked for years. Lol!

Sharon is such a great great actress wow wow wow she does it all bravo

Sharon I’ll light the match! Boy she is a outstanding actress. Beautiful sweet diverse. I love the romance with Adam again Chelsea is fake like a $2 bill

Sharon and Adam are so hot now thats what Im talking about. Case is such a great actress wow I just want to hold her she looks so lost. She has a horrific life. <3

I LOVE Sharon she is my favorite. I love her with Nick or even Adam she has so much chemistry with who ever she is with. Well except Victor. Poor girl looked like she hated being with him. It was not right what the guy who plays Victor did and said. Sharon has been through so much 🙂

All I can say is “Wow!!!!!!!!”

This is starting out with a bang. But my Verdict is still out. I am a phick/phyl/nick fan. Past epis by JG show a bias against them. Phyl and Phick already setup and disliked by haters. The angst and disappointments of this year very difficult to bear. But It’s a soap I know. Both JG & JF are great professionals. I hope they will be open to fans opinions. i wish everyone great success.

Phyllis and Nick have no chemistry either does Chelsea and Adam. We never believed for a second Adam would stop loving Sharon. She is the love of HIS life and Nick is the LOVE of HER life! 🙂

I disagree I love Nick & phyllis together I feel like phyllis made Nick a better man he was too stupid with sharon. I mean cmon now she kised his father for goodness sakes thats just gross

Hopefully now if they re-make the Newman Ranch, it’ll be updated unlike the Carlton Home, which was restored as it previously was, aha.

AND I have Maura West to thank for this; she broke that horrific blue plate, which started it all, aha.

Poor Maura West Diane I loved on ATWT and liked her on Y&R but Eric B insisted his character sleep with Diane and the poor girl was killed. If we didn’t get rid of MAB Abby or Avery would be next Victor would sleep with. Isn’t it time for him to stop and settle down like Mrs. C and act his age. Nikki too. She is so stuck up

Looking forward to JFP and JG. I just recently began to watch again looking forwared to the new regime. I hope now that Sharon had come completely unhinged she will get the help she needs and we can see the “old Sharon” back and a reunion with Nick. I liked the ranch – is like going back home to your parent’s house – comfy! Of course, Victor will recover and there will be a wedding at the newly decorated ranch.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news MemphisBelle, but the Newman Ranch (at least the main house) will NOT be rebuilt at all. Victor and Nikki will end up moving into a new penthouse to live in.

But as we all know by now, Victor will go completely broke, Jack will have complete control at Newman Enterprises. So, Victor finally loses everything, his home, his company and the money he loves so much!

I hate that old house it is so time to burn it to the ground

I am looking forward to new episodes, burning the outdated ranch, sorry I’ll get excited later when I see more..fingers tightly crossed!

Well I have watched it several times and if you Phick fans think Sharon is going to interfere with them you are wrong I think it is going to be Adam who comes thru with support just my opinion the way Nick talks to Sharon no one tells somebody they deserve to lose everything who died and made him King. Everbody thinks Adam is like his dad sorry Nick is the chip off the nasty old block. I just want to get my sweet girl Sharon back.

I am not here to trash MAB. During her 5 year tenure, there was a lot of her work that I liked. However, the last six months or so have been mostly terrible. The show had no focus, no storylines, no couples to root for…it has been a meandering mess. Coming in, JFP and JG have much to clean up before their vision can take hold. With all that said, I could tell the difference from their very first air show. The stakes were higher. The drama was bigger. The pacing was exciting and moved with purpose. It is once again classic soap opera. I am not in favour of all the firings…letting Marcy and Jennifer go makes no sense on any level. They are legacy characters in the younger set. No offense to Jessica Heap, because she is able, but the character of Eden, as written, is ill-conceived, has no personality, and zero rooting value. I can’t fathom why that character was not one of the first to be axed. I am excited about the future of the show though. I hope Sharon will rise from the ashes of her nervous breakdown and reunite with Nick. They are the endgame supercouple. Nick and Phyllis have always played as a lustful diversion…never the kind of couple to build a foundation. I also hope it will come out that Summer is actually Jack’s, and that Nick changed the tests during his own nervous breakdown after Cassie’s death. That is a dangling point that needs to be rectified, knock Nick off his pedestal, and pave the way for Nick and Sharon to come back together as outcasts, and allow Jack and Phyllis to get back together.

“I also hope it will come out that Summer is actually Jack’s, and that Nick changed the tests during his own nervous breakdown after Cassie’s death. That is a dangling point that needs to be rectified”

I agree and I have been waiting for that for years myself. Nick was the only one to see the test results and he just claimed her as his. They could have some fun and give Summer to Jack and give Summer some really good story as a result.

I personally think the writers were right about making Nick Summer’s father because that whole storyline with Nick & Phyllis was classic hints the reason they were dubbed a “SUPERCOUPLE”

Personally I always thought Phyllis was too old for Nick. I know with all the SORASing over the years it is hard to tell who is supposed to be what age, but if Phyllis was with Christine, Danny and Paul’s generation, and Nicky was once the same age as Paul wouldn’t that make Phyllis old enough to be Nick’s mother?

I agree Mary the actress just turned 47 and Nick is 38 in real life not that Michele Stafford does not look good I never understood the character being all wobbly at the knees over a wet behind the ears school boy. Let’s face it for everybody saying Sharon & Phyllis sleep around a lot they do but I have never seen a male think more below the waist in everything he does then the character of Nick Newman so I would not be excited with another go around with Sharon & Nick. Phyllis the school boy is all yours.

No not really because if u read the back story it would tell u that phyllis was younger than Danny just like shes younger than jack

I hope that Adam will be accepted by the Newmans eventually. And despite what a lot of people think, I really like Adam and Chelsea together. I’m not impressed that they let Abby go and I don’t get why they keep writing April in and out of the show. Just make up your mind already!!! I really like the new April and hope they bring them both her and Abby back. I`m not a big fan of Sharon/Nick, but at the same time, I don’t think Phyllis is great with Nick either. Neither of them scream “super couple”. I agree with a PP that said Eden should have been written out of the show. She just doesn’t bring much to the show. I also hope that Daisy is either gone for good or recast. The “actress” that plays her is terrible IMO. Hmmm, what else. I hope Ronan stays and Chance comes back.

I can`t wait for them to redecorate the Newman Ranch. It`s seriously outdated and needs an update.

Lol. Her name is Heather. April was her mother. With regards to Phyllis’ age…no, she is nowhere near old enough to be nick’s mother. Cricket was considerably younger than Paul…they were not from the same “generation.”. Paul was already an adult and sleeping with Nikki in 1978, whereas Cricket was still a teenybopper up until about 1989 when she was raped. The ages of people on this show are very skewed and screwed.

I agree the ages of characters are skewed it is hard to know who is supposed to be what age. But say if Phyllis was in her early 20’s when she hit Christine and Paul which was in the early 90’s and the character Nicholas was born in the late 80’s, Phyllis the character, technically would be old enough to his mother, not MS and JM. Also I think Paul and Nikki were teenagers when they hooked up in 78, not adults. But I’m postive Paul and April had Heather when they were teenagers, so Heather should be a lot older than Daniel, which was another pairing I always thought was odd.

I really really really hope that the new writing team can FIX freakin’ Sharon because this is the last straw for me. This is such a disgusting thing for her to do.

I like Sharon Case, but I absolutely cannot stand what has happened to the character of Sharon. Every time she is on the screen and being snarky, I just want to punch that look off her face. I have not been this riled up over a character in a long time – usually it is some villain in a cable series. It’s just sickening to me that she will do this without, once again, thinking about anyone but herself.

I will admit the new regime has their work cut out for them having to undo a LOT of the damage Maria Arena Bell has done over the past close-to-5 years: lame one-note characters that nobody liked; un-necessary SORAS’ing of offspring to the point that it has become silly; plodding and muddled stories with no payoff; bad re-casts (Diane, Malcolm, the SORAS’ed Kyle). IMO, it can only go up from here!!

However, knowing what happens today on “Y & R” re the court case against Phyllis makes me know that JG has done his homework! At least he is familiar with the show’s rich history and won’t decimate it by magically creating plot points for the sake of a poorly executed story (Yes, MAB – I MEAN YOU!!)

I agree the SORASing of Summer has the silliest thing MAB did. During Phyllis’s trail Heather in her opening remarks said Phyllis hit Paul and Christine 17 years ago. If Summer is supposed to be 16 that would mean Phyllis was happily in love with Nick at the time, so why on earth would she go off the deep end and hit Christine because she saw her kissed Danny? Silly right? Do they think the viewers would fail to notice the two timelines don’t jive. It is so frustrating when they use history and changed history in the same storyline. If they are going SORAS characters they should at least attempt to readjust the time line so it makes sense or better yet don’t SORAS children that quickly so the history isn’t thrown off.

MAB was probably the best executive producer at casting awesome talent in badly written or miscast roles. The list is long…Paul Leyden, Maura West, Eden Riegel, Debbi Morgan, Genie Francis, Tristan Rogers, etc. But the one character I just can’t see any point to is Avery. I mean no disrespect to Jessica Collins, as she is a luminous and capable actress. But to be in a room where that chqrqcter was pitched or conceived would be just mind boggling…picture it…”Hey gang. We need a gorgeous blonde who has an antagonistic history with Phyllis and would be a great leading lady for Joshua Morrow and would be a viable threat to Nick and Phyllis.”. Instead of SOMEONE in the room piping up and saying “um, we already have that character. Her name is Sharon,” someone said “I have it!! We will create a never before heard of sister for Phyllis, hire a big name expensive soap actress, have her meander aimlessly in and out of people’s storylines!!”. Or maybe it was “Hey guys. We Really need a supportive friend for Phyllis who is also a lawyer who can help her out of legal jams.”. Again…”Um, we already have that character. His name is Michael.”. The show is looking to trim the fat, so to speak, Avery should have been in the first round of cuts. I wish no one to be out of a job, but this show has a bloated cast and the character will never work as a long term viable character. All she would ever be is a temporary threat to endgame couples like Nick and Sharon or Michael and Lauren. She serves no purpose, her character is ill defined, and has no connection other than to Phyllis. Josh Griffith has stated that Abby is not integral to the canvas…that shows how far out of touch with the show he must be. Abby is a legacy character whereas Avery is a fleeting afterthought. This is a show with a solid core and a LOT of excess. The way to rebuild is to focus on the core group who is there, vital and alive and in need of good story!!

I totally agree Jessica Collins character should have been cut because she has no relevance what so ever everybody knows the supercouple always prevails#phick

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
