The talented Michael O’Leary (Ex-Rick, Guiding Light), who spearheaded the hilarious soap spoof web series, Steamboat, posted news of a new web project featuring several familiar faces from daytime dramas on his facebook page this weekend!

Leary stated:  “Just shot a pilot called Harbors in West Hampton two weeks ago. The 30 minute soap was written by Meg Kelly of ATWT and DOOL.  It features Daytime stars Beth Chamberlin, Liz Keifer, Danny Cosgrove and Orlagh Cassidy among others.  There have been executives from ‘other places’ that teamed up with us that made this happen. They have devised a financial/Production model that makes doing a daytime show that looks like nighttime feasible. We will be shopping this to the web/cable next week! We’ll see!”

So soapers, what do you think of this news? Would you be interested to see Harbors given the talent O’Leary noted?  Let us know!

This is fantastic news! I love that it was shot in New York. I wish them the best of luck and I definitely would watch this show!

If they’ve truly come up with a financial/production model that will work, congratulations. Obviously, the Prospect Park people should have talked to some of these folks before raising hopes of soap fans and dashing them so cruelly when they were unable to deliver on what they promised.

I don’t know. I hated Steamboat, so I’m skeptical of his projects now. I hope this one’s better. GL stars may lure me to at least check it out.

Oh, yes I would watch it! I still miss GL & ATWT terribly. These shows always had the most solid casts, and I would love to see some of them again every day.

You said it Kimberly, they sure did have the most solid casts!

let’s not compare apples and oranges – a webseries with occasional episodes or finite seasons is not comparable to the monster all-year-round production machine that is a soap worthy its salt

It sounds stupid, but when GL & ATWT went off the air, I cried for days. I had gotten to “know” these people that I had watched everyday for years. My Mom ( she has passed) did too. You escape into their world…feel their pain & happiness. Seeing them in another soap would be great. I would definitely watch!

Tom Pelphrey Set As Series Regular For Amazon’s Mystery Drama ‘Outer Range’

Another great feather in the cap for one of the finest actors we know, former Guiding Light and As the World Turns alum, and two-time Daytime Emmy winner, Tom Pelphrey.

Fresh of his star-turn in Netflix;s Ozark as Laura Linney’s on-screen brother Ben, Pelphrey has nabbed a key role in the upcoming Amazon series, Outer Range.

The show also stars Lilli Taylor and Tamara Podemski and Josh Brolin.  Outer Range is from playwright Brian Watkins, Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment and Amazon Studios.

According to Deadline: The story centers on Royal Abbott (Brolin), a rancher fighting for his land and family, who discovers an unfathomable mystery at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness.  Taylor will portray Cecilia Abbott, the matriarch of the Abbott family. Cecilia is a woman of deep faith, which she finds tested as never before. Podemski will play Deputy Sheriff Joy. A life-long cop, Joy is running for county sheriff, and is the first gay Native American to ever do so in Wyoming. Pelphrey is Perry Abbott, the dutiful, eldest Abbott son, who is torn up inside by the lingering mystery of his missing wife.”

Coming up this Oscar season look for Tom in David Fincher’s Mank, where he plays Joseph Mankiewicz .
