TONIGHT: Soap Nation Live! with Michael Fairman: ‘A Tribute To Kristoff St. John’ With Co-Host Y&R’s Daniel Goddard and Special Guests

Photo: CBS

As key episodes of The Young and the Restless play out this week on the CBS Daytime drama series addressing the death of the character of Neil Winters and its affects on his loved ones; please join host Michael Fairman and his guests this evening (Thursday, April 25th) for a very special edition of Soap Nation Live! as we pay tribute to the late Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters).

This special live-stream radio podcast can be heard exclusively here at Michael Fairman TV beginning at 7PMPST/10PMET.

Sadly, back in February, St. John passed away at the age of 52, which devastated his castmates, the genre, and its fans, who knew Kristoff as one of the finest actors to ever appear on the soaps.

For this broadcast, Michael will be joined in-studio by his guest co-host, The Young and the Restless’, Daniel Goddard (Cane).  Throughout the show, Daniel and Michael will be talking with several of Kristoff’s Y&R colleagues, past and present.  Taking part in this tribute and celebration of St. John are special guests: The Young and the Restless‘ Eric Braeden (Victor), Eileen Davidson (Ashley),  Victoria Rowell (Ex-Drucilla), Joshua Morrow (Nick), Mishael Morgan (Ex-Hilary), Christel Khalil (Lily) and Bryton James (Devon).

Hard to find the words to express the feeling of knowing that Kristoff, Neil Winters, is gone. Been watching for more than 30 years and Kristoff has always been one of my most favorite people. Had the honor of meeting him at a YR event a few years back and he was the kindest gentleman. It’s truly a heartbreaking loss. He is missed.

Hi Michael, I am able to get the feed for the Canadian station that shows the episodes a day in advance,so I saw Friday’s episode today. They had an amber alert at the conclusion of the show and then they came back with Christel Khalil and Bryton James I’m not sure what they said at first maybe something like we hope you liked the special episodes but then they said we will have a special tribute to Kristoff St John this coming Sunday.do you know the time it will come on,thank you

Hi there I’m from Toronto and I saw the amber alert as well. The special is on Monday not Sunday. I had to rewind and listen to it again as well. This has been such an emotional week on the Y and R. Such a special tribute for such a special person. I’m sure none of the cast were actually acting when they cried at the service for ‘Neil’, those were real tears and really meaningful words. Well done.

Thank you Serena. I guess I was hoping for more Kristoff

Hello ive been watching the show since I was a little girl …losing Kristof was like losing a family member ..watching the episodes this week I have not stopped crying my heart breaks for the cast and his family..may he RIP we love you so much

Was there any off scripted comments during this weeks tribute?

I’ve been watching Y&R for years. The tribute to Kristoff was absolutely amazing and so heartfelt. Everyone did an amazing job and it was so good to see some of the past characters on the show as well. Kristoff will be greatly missed. ❤️

The cast and everyone involved for that matter has done an amazing job. My hat off to you for being able to do this all in one take. This must have been so hard on all of you. Thank you for sharing. Daniel thank you for sharing the prank videos of you, Kristoff and Bryton. I am so sad for Kristoff, his family and friends. Way too young to die. I hope he is with his son and they are both free of pain. RIP Kristoff. <3

I think that he would be very pleased from this weeks episodes so far.

Daniel Goddard(cane)The show has been very emotional for viewers and the crew. How are you and your cast mates doing emotional self care

Words can’t even describe how I feel about the loss of Kristoff. Watching videos of behind the scenes of Kristoff, he seems like a genuine, sweet person. A great loss for his family, friends and fans. I’m not a crier and I have cried all week for the loss of such a wonderful person. I’m greatly sad and he will never be forgotten and I am so proud that the Y&R has put so much love and effort to a tribute. My heart goes out to all of you.

I was actually dreading watching today’s show. Only because it felt like I had to say goodbye to someone I truly loved. My heart breaks for all of you that have to “act” like you’re saying goodbye to a character on a day time show… when in fact you are living what we as fans can only dream of…and we feel the loss that you all feel…. thank you so much for giving up acting and showing us your real, true love for such a wonderful man who was Neil/Kristoff ❤️ Rest In Peace friend ❤️

Hi Michael, its been heartbreaking to accept the passing of Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters). I’ve been watching for over 30 years and I can honestly say he indeed was one of my most favorite people on Y&R. I’ve been watching all week and I’ve cried so much, as we watch through the years these characters become family, his death has really impacted me. He will truly be missed. Our condolence to his family and the entire Y&R Family.
May our beloved Neil Winters rest in peace.

The name on the condolence flowers was “The Mercado Family.” I feel I may be missing something significant about that? I would LOVE to know if that was another brilliant move of paying homage to someone. Thank you all for the most profound work in show history!

I would say one of my favorite memorable scenes from Y&r is when neil and dru got married back in 1993 and you could tell they were very much in love☺

True talented man what a great loss for such a fine artist – watched the show for 30 yrs and you could sense the kind of person he was threw the screen -that smile and those eyes showed his soul – my sympathy to his family n friends
And to the grace of the show we the fans could be there in support thank you ! May he Rest In Peace n lots of love from Canada ♥️♥️♥️

The storyline of Neil’s passing on young and the restless was very emotional and the writers and the cast did an amazing job on there and I can imagine that it was very hard to do that storyline from every scene, espcially during the memorial where everyone was saying goodbye to their beloved family member and shemar moore gave a beautiful eulogy to his brother and even though everyone was in character and was saying goodbye to neil they were really saying goodbye to Kristoff because the fact that they had to relive that moment all over again made it even more emotional and it was definitely emotional for me especially when seeing kristoff as a spirit which I figured the writers would add him as a spirit the way they did for jeanne cooper when she had passed away back in 2013, plus I could tell that everyone really loved kristoff St John as well as his character Neil Winters because we all loved him and his character for soo many years and kristoff really portrayed his character outstandingly well and at the same time it’s very heartbreaking that he’s no longer here with us but he loved his fans and his family on y&r and to the rest of the soap opera community❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

So so sad when Devon asked Neil why and could anyone help

I went through several boxes of tissues. Kudos and great job Young and Restless cast and crew. Kris death and memorial service was the best ai have ever seen. The love from you guys was real. Thank you CBS.

Chandler Massey Talks The Emotional Life Of Will Horton; Rob Scott Wilson & Victoria Konefal Share Insight On Key Scenes On ‘Inside Salem: Days of our Lives Podcast’

Viewers of Days of our Lives recently watched Will (Chandler Massey) cross over to the light as he hovers near death, and sees his great grandma Caroline (Peggy McCay).  While happily Will survives, Caroline did not.  And through Will’s trauma of surviving a brain tumor, fans were treated to touching scenes between Chandler Massey and his on-screen love interest Freddie Smith (Sonny).

In addition, Will had the difficult task, at the time, to have to tell his beloved grandmother, Marlena (Deidre Hall) that he was dying in more moving and emotional scenes.  So what did Chandler Massey have to share about all the drama? Check out the latest episode of Inside Salem: Days of our Lives Podcast and find out!

With June being Pride Month in many cities in the U.S. and countries around the world, Chandler also weighs-in on the importance of Will as an LGBTQ character on the canvas on television, and in particular, on daytime.  In this podcast, Chandler relates how it’s been amazing to make a difference to people and their lives.  He shares the story of how a man told him in a letter that he watched Days of our Lives with his mother and through watching the storyline; where Will came out to Marlena, how it inspired him to have that conversation with his own mother at that time.  He thought his mother would not understand or accept him, but because she watched Days and saw Will’s journey to come out, she supported her son and who he was.  As Chandler explained, it was confirmation that the story was helping people.

Later, #Cin fans get a treat when Rob Scott Wilson and Victoria Konefal sit-down on the podcast and offer up commentary on some of their most recent and pivotal scenes.  Rob and Victoria take us through cabin fires and police station scenes, and their on-screen love story – a must listen for viewers who are rooting for this duo against all odds in Salem.

Inside Salem: Days of our Lives Podcast is available now via iTunes for download or you can listen at NBC.com/Inside Salem.
