Tonya Lee Williams heads to B&B for two episode guest stint!

Leave it to B&B head honcho, Brad Bell to snatch some more folks and characters from the canvas of The Bold and the Beautiful’s sister, soap The Young and the Restless. This time, Bell has enlisted Tonya Lee Williams to make a two episode guest appearance on B&B reprising her role of  Genoa City’s Olivia Barber Winters, on February 1st and 2nd.

Since Barber is Olivia’s middle name, and Williams will be acting with Aaron Spears, who plays Justin Barber, TV Guide got the low down. Williams stated, “No one really put it together. Apparently Brad Bell had this idea back when he named Aaron’s character — he just didn’t let any of us know about it. We’re just actors. Who knows what goes on behind the veil of Oz?” They gave me some very interesting, quirky scenes with a lot of the characters — the kind that made me wonder if maybe something might come of it down the line. So naturally I played the crap out of everything!”

Olivia comes into the fold when a major event happens in Justin’s life, which is said to be a B&B first!  So, what do you think it could be? Let us know!

People on message boards immediately thought Dru would be related to the black chars of B&B. So it’s kind of a duh moment for the actors. LOL! Also, B&B is abt fashion, and Dru is a fashion model, so storyline wise, Dru could mix it up w/ the chars better than Olivia can. Rowell is a fantastic actress and she’d be great sparring w/ Flannery. I doubt they’d ask Rowell to join B&B though. B&B is a million times worse than Y&R in terms of racial diversity in the cast and in the storylines. Also, it’s not as if Brad Bell knows how to write consistently for black chars. So Olivia, who is sooooooooooooooooooo boring, would be 1 more useless char on B&B. She’d fit right in on B&B since majority of the chars are useless. Maybe the “first for B&B” would be an entire ep centering around racial minority chars and even the people in the background would be racial minorities since it is in LA. But then again it is B&B. I’m guessing Barber marries Donna. Heck all kinds of incestuous relationships have been portrayed w/ the skanky, straight, white people of B&B. But I don’t think they ever had a black char marry a white char on B&B.

FRIDAY on Y&R: Rebroadcast Of Victor and Nikki’s Classic 1984 Wedding

The Young and the Restless has a classic episode on tap for tomorrow’s Friday April 3rd installment.  Look for a re-airing of the very first wedding of the iconic Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott).
The episode originally aired back on April 13, 1984.  In story, the long-awaited wedding of Victor and Nikki is in jeopardy as Victor’s obsessed former secretary, Eve Howard (Margaret Mason), waits in the wings to harm the bride.

Meanwhile, Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) makes a grand entrance, Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) escorts Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman) to the nuptials, and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) dreams of her own upcoming wedding to Eric Garrison (Brian Matthews).

The wedding episode remains one of Y&R’s all-time highest-rated moments.

A brand new original episode of Y&R will air on Monday, April 6th.

Days Of Our Lives

DAYS Favorite Charles Shaughnessy To Reunite With Cast of ‘The Nanny’ For Virtual Table Read

Now here is a fun way to go a bit retro during the coronavirus ‘stay at home’ safety measures.  Days of our Lives enduring favorite Charles Shaughnessy (Shane and Drew Donovan) will be taking part in a virtual table read of the beloved primetime comedy series pilot episode of The Nanny,

Shaunghnessy starred on the series along with Fran Drescher and now the two, plus most of the other original cast members will reunite though the magic of Zoom and the table read that will be posted up on the Sony Pictures YouTube page the morning of Monday, April 6th.

Charles enthused on the announcement via his Instagram: “Yes! This! So fun to connect with these wonderful people and re-live a more sane, magical and fun time!”

Shaughnessy and Drescher will reprise their roles of Maxwell Sheffield and Fran Fine. Some other cast members have soap connections as well: Madeline Zima, sister of former Young and Restless actress Yvonne Zima (Daisy Callahan), will reprise her role of Grace Sheffield, and Nicholle Tom, sister of Bold and Beautiful’s Heather Tom (Katie Logan), will play Margaret ‘Maggie’ Sheffield.

In addition, Daniel Davis (Niles), Lauren Lane (C.C. Babcock), Benjamin Salisbury (Brighton Sheffield), Renee Taylor (Sylvia Fine), Alex Sternin (Maggie’s boyfriend), DeeDee Rescher (Dotty), Rachel Chagall (Val Toriello), Jonathan Penner (Danny Imperiali), and Ann Hampton Callaway will take part in the virtual read event.  Only James Marsden, who appeared as Eddie, will not be part of the April 6th cast reunion.

The Nanny enjoyed a six-season run on NBC from 1993 – 1999 for six seasons.  As for Drescher, she can currently be seen in the TV series Indebted while Shaunghessy appears in The Magicians.

As The World Turns

Remembering ATWT On Its Anniversary: Who Was Your Favorite Oakdale Duo?

One of the greatest soap operas of them all, and one that was number-one for quite some time, As the World Turns, debuted on this date back on April 2nd in 1956,.

The CBS daytime drama series was beloved by viewers who were fascinated by the town of Oakdale.

The series aired it final episode on September 17th, 2010.  The photo that is the header of this post is from the last day of shooting with all of the cast, and crew taking part in one last look at Oakdale and their time together.

The series was created by soap icon, Ira Phllips and ATWT had many firsts in the genre.  It was the first show to expand to 30 minutes and it was the first soap to expand to one hour in 1975 and at that time ATWT was number one, as it had from 1958 all the way through 1978.

As the World Turns gave career starts to so many actors including Meg Ryan, Julianne Moore, and Marisa Tomei, and it certainly had its share of memorable couples through the years from: Nancy and Chris Hughes, to Ellen and David Stewart, to Holden and Lily Snyder, to Carly and Jack Snyder, to Noah Mayer and Luke Snyder, to Lucinda and John Dixon, and so many others.
