Trevor St. John confirms Victor Jr. WON'T be returning for the finale of OLTL!

Courtesy/ABC
The online speculation has been rampant and the hope high that somehow One Life to Live’s Victor Jr. was never killed and somehow survived a bullet to the chest from Todd Manning! Or, that Victor Jr. might appear in a dream sequence of his wife, Tea and their unborn baby.
However in the new issue of Soap Opera Digest (on newsstands now) there is an item confirming to SOD, that Victor Jr.’s portrayer, fan favorite, Trevor St. John will not be returning for the series final episodes.
St. John told SOD on a Victor sighting for the ending of the series, “It’d been talked about, but it was purely conceptual. It was just tossed around. It would’ve depended on a lot of factors, on other obligations, and how long I’d have to be there and other things. I didn’t regret not coming back.”
The actor later referenced his enthusiasm at getting to say goodbye to the fans at the upcoming Loving Llanviewevent on January 21st in Westbury, NYC, stating, ” This is a better way to say good-bye (to the fans), do it in person. Any chance I get to go back to New York is welcomed!”
How do you feel about the news that Trevor won’t be making an encore visit to Llanview before the end of its network television run? Let us know!

Christel Khalil Reveals She Almost Quit Acting After ‘That’s So Raven’ Audition, But Then Came ‘The Young and the Restless’

The Young and the Restless fan favorite, Christel Khalil (Lily Winters) is the special guest on this week’s edition of Soapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart which dropped today on Tuesday, June 23rd.
During the interview with Rebecca and Greg, Khalil who had played Lily Winters on-screen since August of 2002, nearly 24 years with the CBS soap, shared how early on her teenage acting career, she was ready to call it quits in show business, after a heartbreaking audition for the lead of a new Disney Channel sitcom, which later turned out to be the hit seres, That’s So Raven, starring Raven-Symoné which ran for four seasons from 2003-2007.
Christel recalled what happened. “I was 14 and I had always auditioned for all these Disney projects. So I auditioned for That’s So Raven, it was between me and Raven-Symoné and it was called at the time Absolutely Psychic,” explained Khalil. “The character was this girl who had psychic ability, but then when Raven got the role, they named the title of the show after her.”

HOW A BROTHERLY TALK CHANGED THE COURSE OF CHRISTEL’S CAREER
Reliving the disappointment to Greg and Rebecca, Christel explained, “I lost that part and I was just so devastated, because for the network call there were 20 people in the room watching me, and I just have always had such performance anxiety. I just completely bombed the audition and it was terrible. So, I was just devastated. I was actually going to quit acting and then I got the final call for The Young and The Restless and I wasn’t going to go.”
It was Khalil’s brother, who actually got her to reconsider, and if he hadn’t, we would not have our Lily Winters in Genoa City! Christel recounted, “I was like, ‘You know what? I’m done. I don’t want to do this anymore. I’m just going to hang out with my friends.’ I was just devastated. My brother, who is seven years older than me, and he had quit acting at the same age that I was at that time. He said to me, ‘I promise you, I actually really regret quitting. Just go on this audition and if you don’t get it, you can quit.'”
Christel’s screen-test for the role of Lily was actually with the late, great, Kristoff St. John who would play her father Neil (Later it was revealed to Lily, that Neil’s brother, Malcolm Winters was her bio-dad).

Photo: CBS
ACTING WAS EASY WITH THE LATE KRISTOFF ST. JOHN
“So, I went (to test for Lily) and I remember the screen-test was with Kristoff St. John. It was just so easy to act with him because he’s just so there. I remember just being on set, and that was my first time there for a screen-test where you were actually on set. I had never experienced that before. It was my first time being with an actor and having makeup done, which just helps you really be able to do your best work.”
Recalling the screen-test with the St. John, Khalil, “It was where I had to be emotional ( in the scene) and I always had issues being emotional at auditions. But I was there with him, it just came, and it happened. It was natural and I felt so good and it was amazing. It stands out in my mind a lot.”
You can check out the full Soapy conversation with Christel Khalil where she also discusses juggling motherhood, marital life, and the demands of soap operas.

Whether a lifelong fan or discovering the genre for the first time, SOAPY offers a fresh, fun behind-the-scenes look at the stories – and storytellers – that define daytime drama.
Now let us know, over the years what had been your favorite Lily Winters story on Y&R as played by Christel Khalil? Days Of Our Lives
Deidre Hall Marks 50 Years as ‘Days of Our Lives’ Dr. Marlena Evans

If you have ever tuned-in to the soap opera genre over the last 50 years, and witnessed some of the greatest romances, drama, classic and outlandish storylines of all-time, you would have seen Deidre Hall smack dab in the middle of it as longtime Salem heroine, Dr. Marlena Evans.
It was 50 years on this date, June 21, 1976 that Hall first appeared on DAYS on NBC which was its home for 57 years before it moved to its current streaming platform on Peacock in September of 2022.
In Hall’s first episode she was introduced as a psychiatrist treating Mickey Horton (John Clarke) at Bayview Sanitarium after he suffered a complete mental breakdown. Mickey learned that his brother Bill Horton (Edward Mallory) was the biological son of Mike Horton (Wesley Eure) with his wife Laura (Susan Flannery) and that he had been lied to for years and years. From that moment on, the rest is television and soap opera history. Days of Our Lives put Hall front and center.

Photo: NBC
There were so many heartbreaking and shocking story twists involving the beloved Marlena. One of the first was the historic crib death of baby DJ (Don Jr.) in 1980, Marlena’s infant son with Don Craig (Jed Allan). The story had never been told on daytime television and Hall’s performances received accolades from TV critics to fans when Deidre received thousands of letters from grieving mothers who had gone through the same thing in their own lives.
DAYS also brought Deidre’s twin sister, Andrea Hall Lovell to the show as her on-screen sister Samantha, who had a grudge and even locked Marlena up in a sanitarium and took her place! Fast-forward and in 1982, DAYS launched the Salem Strangler story where everyone believed Marlena was his next victim, only it turned out to be Samatha. Jake Kositchek (played by Jack Coleman) was revealed to be the actual serial killer.
Later, Deidre would assume the role of Marlena’s look-alike, Hattie Adams in 2004, once played by her sister, Andrea. Over the years, Hattie has come back to Salem and caused trouble giving Hall a chance to play a different type of character, then the always upstanding Marlena.

THE LOVES OF MARLENA
Deidre Hall struck gold with all her leading men: from the late Jed Allan, to Wayne Northrop as Roman Brady, and of course, her enduring love story with the late John Black played by the iconic Drake Hogestyn. In fact, Marlena’s 1986 wedding to John (who was believed to be Roman at the time) remains a favorite of fans to this day.
TOP MARLENA STORYLINES OF ALL-TIME
While the list is long, here are several that were some of the memorable during Deidre’s five decades in Salem!
The Possession (1994- 1995)
Considered one of the most ambiguous, outlandish and unforgettable story arcs in soap opera history, then Days of Our Lives head writer, James Reilly went there! Marlena was possessed by the devil! That included; the demonic eyes, hissing at father John (Black) the priest, morphing into creatures, and the classic levitating in her bed! It became a cultural phenomenon and cemented Deidre Hall’s status as a daytime television legend. Just ask Ryan Gosling!

Photo:JPI
The Affair with John Black (1993)
John and Marlena’s forbidden love could not be denied and they had passionate affair, while she was still married to the real Roman. Problem was her daughter, Sami (Alison Sweeney) caught her mother having sex with John on a desk that changed Sami forever.
The Salem Stalker Mystery (2003-2004)
In a shocker, Marlena was revealed to be a serial killer who bumped off several Salem favorites residents who were all alive on the island of Melaswen (spelled “New Salem” backward). Turns out, she was manipulated and gaslighted by Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) to do the “killings” and had no memory of her actions.
The Pier Scene (1991)
This remains Michael Fairman TV’s all-time favorite Deidre Hall moment, which featured some of the best acting in the storied careers of both Hall and Drake Hogestyn.
In the story, a presumed-dead Marlena returns after four years. One foggy night on the pier, John is alone, and Marlena steps out of the fog to reveal herself, and is reunited with the love of her life. You can watch it any year, any decade, and in any moment, and it will have you reaching for the hankies again and again. (best music score fo a soap scene of all-time too!)

Photo: NBC
Kristen’s Secret Room Reveal (1997)
Marlena was caught in Kristen Blake’s (Eileen Davidson) elaborate web of lies, when she was held hostage in a secret wine cellar/room until John managed to track her down, leading to an iconic on-screen reunion. The classic catfight between Hall and Eileen Davidson was one for the ages.
It should be noted that Maison Blanche, Queen of the Night, Possession, Aremid and Lady in a Cage were all a part of classic DAYS storyline and all featured Hall at the epicenter of it from 1993-1996.
THE RECENT YEARS OF MARLENA
In recent years, DAYS brought back the possession 2.0 storyline under then head writer Ron Carlivati in 2021 where the devil leapt back in Marlena after taking advantage of a frail Doug Williams (the late Bill Hayes)
In 2025, viewers watched the end of the love story of John and Marlena, as John succumbed to injuries sustained in an explosion saving a vial of medication needed to bring Bo (Peter Reckell) back to life. Marlena has been a widow on-screen since June of 2025 as Hall as portrayed the good doctor struggling with her grief and to move on with her life since his death.

Photo: JPI
One story that never goes away is Stefano DiMera’s (the late Joe Mascolo) obsession with Marlena, his “Queen of the Night.” Even in death, Stefano is toying with her from the great beyond with the mysterious chess set and the missing “pawn,” that he had gifted John and Marlena in his will. The mystery is currently unfolding on all-new episodes of Days of Our Lives.
Tune-in to Days of our Lives on the Monday, June 22 episode as Marlena looks back at her 50 years in Salem.
Share your congratulations to Deidre Hall for this incredible 50-year milestone as Dr. Marlena Evans on Days of Our Lives in the comment section. Then let us know, what is your all-time favorite storyline or moment in the life of Marlena over the past 5 decades? And, just for kicks, and to celebrate this amazing milestone, here is Marlena levitating below circa Christmas Eve 1994.

I’m crushed. The show hasn’t been the same since he left. Nothing for me to look forward to now.
He’s the ONLY REAL Todd!
I HATE IT! ,If i could see him at the fan thing it might be different ,but i still would want to see him on OLTL. I hope at least TODD GOES TO STATESVILLE
too bad about trevor st. john. i still believe todd didn’t kill victor. what do you think, michael?
I agree still believe todd didn’t kill victor. what do you think, michael?
i hope tea does not end up with john at the end i think marty or brody set out to hurt
victor maybe baker has his locked up at his mother place where she worked
Yes, I can imagine Irene killed Victor but she brainwashed or hypnotized Todd into thinking he did it, the same way Irene must have brainwashed or hypnotized Victor into changing his will and leaving everything to her. So in the end Todd didn’t kill Victor and Todd can have a happy ending. Yuck (I wanted a happy ending for Victor and Tea).
Brian Frons, Ron Carlivati and Frank Valentini screwed this up royally. Getting rid of Trevor for RH was a mistake. The show sucks without him.
I am devastated.Victor and Tea was the entire reason why I fallen in love with OLTL in the first place. There are other couples I enjoy but I am in love with the couple formally known as TNT, Hopefully when they bring the show online Victor will come back, that will be the only thing to get me to watch. With them sending Jack to jail for an accident that Stacey caused on herself I am to through, and Victor is dead for nothing while Gigi lives. I don’t get it. I actually love both families so I couldn’t deal with either one of them going but TJS is more than worthy from coming back from the dead to be with his love ones, and I want him and Todd to face off in a proper way. Where Victor and Tomas is friends, and vow to take Todd down and show everyone the monster he will always be.
ahh, sorry the show will not be coming back online!!!
totally agree ebony, it angers me that those self rightous toshes end up happy but not victor and tea. todd better get whats coming to him for killing victor. .rex and gigi and those other jerks got away with kidnapping sam ,jack should not pay forwhat that psychopath stacy did to herself.
It’s profoundly disappointing Victor will not be returning for a happy reunion with Tea and his baby, and Trevor doesn’t regret it. How many films, television series, or plays was Trevor working on in November that he couldn’t show up for a couple of hours? If any chance to go back to New York was welcomed, Trevor missed this one. He may not regret it, but the fans do. It’s not as if all of us are coming to Westbury in 2012 or that this would substitute for a weak show ending for Tea and the baby who will never be born. (Yes, I know it’s just a storyline.)
Trevor was filming a new one hour drama TV pilot in Los Angeles during the same time the finale was being filmed in New York.
I heard Trevor WAS in New York for the opening of his new movie In the Family which opened there Nov 4, so the could have taped some scenes and was sworn to secrecy!
OK, Trevor was busy working on a couple of projects. I am happy for him, but sad for OLTL.
read on soap opera weekly that he was coming back
Well, I depended on Trevor coming back and am sorely disappointed. I hope the ending will leave all of us fans not wanting…….
i still love roger howarth. loved trevor, but roger was the true todd. yes it would have been nice if both were on the show, trevor is verry talented. but roger got the emmy for the role he originated. yes it is sad trevor is gone, but give roger a break, his talent is great, and i don’t like what they are doing to him in the end here. i still don’t buy that he killed victor, but it dose not look like we’ll see that change unless they save the show and lets all pray, they do.
What Does RH have to do with anything? Unless you mean a ‘Two Todds’ story with only one Todd?
i was saying that it would have been nice if they were both on the show.
That is indeed sense. I thank you for clarifying. What a waste these last months have been. It makes me sad.
how true.
Ah, what could have been. Sigh. We should still be seeing the fall out of Todd vs Todd aka Victor with their loved ones caught int he middle.
A dream sequence with Tea about the baby would have been awesome and they missed out on such an opportunity. He is very missed…
Sounds like Trevor going back to the set would of been like going to the dentist for a double root canal.
Trevor left because abc wouldn’t pay him what he wanted. Had nothing to do with the writers.
I don’t believe Todd killed Victor either, however, when this show ended it was going to PP. They could have easily written a Todd back in, in time. Now it will probably end with Todd going to jail. Thinking he killed Victor.
Money….OF COURSE…
Wonder if thats the same story with BRANDAN BUDDY???
Because then THAT would mean he single handly CRUSHED the BEST love story of a teen-young adult couple of DAYTIME HISTORY. What damn SHAME.
BB was brought back. He lasted only 1 day and he was released. Money had nothing to do with why the original Cole could not come back to Starr. A replacement was done because there were no other options.
But money is the cause of alot and I’m sure many thought it too.
Yes I read that and I also read his scenes were scraped.
So that causes me to think WHY?
Is he is sick I want to know, I wanna know where I can send a card to him.
That’s so disappointing! The show is not the same without Trevor … and I was hoping Victor, Jr wasn’t really dead. Trevor saying goodbye in person to those fans lucky enough to be able to attend the tribute is fine. But what about all the rest of us??? OLTL should’ve given us closure as well.
I really was not a fan of the two Todds and this bizarre Irene Manning brainwashing element is too much silliness for me. (Don’t even get me started on that Gigi storyline!) All that said, Trevor St. John is among best recasts in soap history, and it was difficult to see him go. If the show was continuing I would have loved to see the two brothers be rivals for life. Oh, how the next generation of OLTL could have thrived on that! I hope OLTL will neatly resolve the Victor Jr. murder plot and focus on characters finding their way “home” as it were. I know the loose ends will not be neat and tied with a bow beacuse of the Prospect Park debacle, but we shall see and celebrate what we have. And there is much to celebrate. I remember OLTL from the Viki-Joe-Steve love traingle days before the Buchanans came on the scene!
TSJ did a very good job, but he was never really “Todd.” Now that RH is back, this is clear, and I think some scenes could illustrate this (after Margaret Cochoran scenes with Kevin, walking over Rebecca’s body after Powell, his scene with Zack), but as Victor Lord Jr. – he finally had the chance to be his own character…. opportunity lost!! He is a fabulous actor and did great in the hardest role – filling the shoes of a daytime icon… the scenes that were his were really his… and I loved the “we Todds take” scenes they had together…. will miss seeing him again in Llanview on ABC (hopefully we will get the chance to continue Llanview on another station….( — NBC?? –) )
I am devistated, TSJ was my asolute favorite Todd/Victor and to not see him at the end is going to add to the tragedy of the cancellation.
Good for Trevor, he has moved on people !! This soap is OVER anyway and he was not such a big fan of ‘Todd/Victor and Tea’ by the way (me neither, i did prefer him with Blair and Marty, he has better chemistry with these two ladies)
Can’t wait to watch Trevor St John on prime time tv, he has the talent for it (unlike lot’s of other soap actors), he was even great in the flash backs as Peter Krause character dad in Dirty Sexy Money !! Prime time for you Trevor !!
You’re first line insults people and St John is special but is still tiny in a the HOLLYWOOD OCEAN. It all remains to be seen.
Are you saying St John didnt enjoy a very thought out DUMB story???
I agree that it is good he is moving on, however, he WAS, indeed, a fan of the Todd/Victor and Tea pairing. Him and Florenica loved working together- its been stated several times.
He also really liked to work with Susan Askell but Todd and Marty were never a real pairing, he can enjoy working with someone doesn’t mean he ‘love’ the corny love story..Get real.
As for the end of OLTL i am sorry that it is over, but i just state the freaking truth : IT IS OVER, not an insult just the truth.
Well, I guess it really doesn’t matter anymore since they cancelled the show altogether. We won’t be seening any of those great actors on TV anymore. This breaks my heart for sure. Nothing to look forward to anymore.
Yeah was I missing something the way people are all excited?????
You got that right. Best show on tv today. Soon, everything on tv will be “real” people trying to get their 5 minutes of fame. Awful Kartrashians, Housewives of wherever, Bachelor/Bachelorette/fake trash. Whatever happened to the good nighttime dramas, family type sitcoms (not filth), variety shows? With attractive actors that we loved? Has anyone seen the promo for Wife Swap on ABC? Just plain nasty. And Wipeout? As I understand it the new head of ABC daytime is responsible for Wipeout. Nuff said, huh?
I am still not totally convinced. TSJ has always been fairly good at side-stepping the truth in interviews. TECHNICALLY, if he already taped an extra scene to air in the finale, he doesn’t have to return. (And it also doesn’t mean we won’t see his character with RH’s face.)
In my own mind I will always recreate the ending. And MY ending will be that Victor returns and rides off into the sunset with Tea. C’est Fin
It would have been really great if TSJ could have returned for the finale, real or as a ghost.
It’s great that fans will have an opportunity to say goodbye at a fan event – unfortunately not all the fans will have that opportunity to see him and our other favorites.
Freaking BS if true. Not sure why he’d admit it if he were on. Victor should have never gone out like that in such dumb way too. Dumb writers could’ve figured something out. He even offered to stay on, but no. Screw them.
Really hoping they were scenes taped before his departure.
I truly miss you Trevor. I don’t get to go to loving Llanview, because I can’t afford the tickets to travel to see you, but if I could, I would. You and Erika and Micheal, and Robbin, Florencia, David, Jerry, J Paul, n Fara and soo many others kept me wanting to watch OLTL every day:). Please come to Oklahoma so your fans here in T town can see you.:). I will follow all of you on tv or the movies, especially you. Thanks Trevor for your rolls as Todd n Victor….
I am deeply disappointed if it’s true. I really want to see Victor & Tea have a happy ending. Todd DID kill Victor of his OWN free will, Irene did NOT brainwash him, that’s absurd!
I hope Todd is sent to prison, or better yet killed off all together before the show goes off!
brodie should really be named victors killer.
Too bad! He’s a brilliant talent on screen. He’s actually a better Todd than Roger Howarth! And, that’s saying something because I like Roger!
He’s Brilliant , but too cutsey looking.
So dumb of a storyline to begin with.
You answer me this you take on a roll for what seven years you do your take than Bam lets bring on Mr. Wonderful RH and decide we erase all that time . BS… Forget about it their toast anyway. Now the powers that be are bringing on rc & fv to save GH and I have swap land I will sell for a dollar.
Hello Deb. I haven’t heard anything about Trevor wanting ABC to Pay him more Money. I read that Trevor wasn’t too happy about Ted King coming on. I think Ted King is Tomas. Other People had thought that maybe Trevor didn’t want Roger to come back. Maybe Trevor didn’t like the 2 Todd’s Storyline. I Really think it is something like that and Not over his Salary unless he had to Take A Pay Cut or Something. Also, I wouldn’t think he would be Willing to come back if he was upset over what he is being Paid. Jody
I’m so sad and pissed and just overall frustrated. THIS is why I stopped watching OLTL as soon as they killed off Trevor’s character, because it SUCKS. Getting rid of this phenomanal actor, character, and one half of one of the most popular daytime couples in decades (and the reason I watched!!), Todd (Victor) and Tea, for a washed up, monotone “actor” like Roger Howarth. Wow. Instead of canceling this soap, ABC should have just fired that idiots behind the cameras. So I guess this also means Tea is screwed out of the happy ending she deserves as well. But TSJ is amazing; he loves his fans and knows how much we love him. 🙂
I miss trevor so much and I will watch whatever he is in, he is incredibly beautiful to look at, and I stopped watching OLTL before they killed him off because it broke my heart just to think about it I could never watch it, don’t want to see, I had watched OLTL for as far back as I remember, and I did love rh as todd, well, I loved Todd, and when they replaced him I was glad, because, I love todd and now he was gorgeous, and way more expressive and tormented. to get rid of him and bring back howorth was disgraceful.
Even though Trever might not come back, please don’t kill off his character. Todd needs his brother back. Todd is a good guy, but just like Howorth character on As The World Turns, Todd is miss guided and needs a kick in the pants once in a while.
please, i have watched the show since the 80’s. and the early 90’s when todd was cast. st. john was destroying the character with his interpretation. like pushing star down the stairs, he was not the family man that the criminal todd manning was. he was ruining the character who was on the show for years b4 he showed up.
Could not agree more. St. John played the character so MEANLY, he was even very mean to Viki which I could not stand. Criminal Todd, yes, did awful things but he plays Todd with a sense of humor & wit & OMG would NEVER have treated Starr the way St. John did. I had a few moments here & there when St.John was not so bad but Roger Howarth is TODD MANNING period. I wish the show was continuing (duh) & that they had kept Victor Jr. & Todd-could have had some great times. Don’t you just love every scene with Todd & Starr??? And Todd & Viki???
I agree ,but I would still like to see victor come back and be with tia, roger howarth is todd manning ,he is the best and Im glad he came back.I love his scenes with blair and star, and with viki ,But I always felt bad about tia being left out and the todd one and two story gave her victor and I like that ,maybe if hes not comming back somehow we will find out he is alive before the end, that would be nice.
Where is Trevor St. John now…is he in Hollywood looking for work or retire to home..give me a hint! It would be nice if he found his way to something bigger and better, go Trevor!
i thought thomas killed you victor because hi lawer said he killed you and i also thought brody killed you cause he to leam that he would not let you tell everybody nateli had the babby with john and todd said he did,ntt kill you because he cared to much about the kids
I’m still holding out hold that he lied or pre-taped some scenes. I want him and Tea to get their happily ever after.
Me too! I don’t think its fair that this amazing couple him and Florencia have created over the past three years do not get a happy ending 🙁
I’m so sorry that Trevor St. John will not be on any of the finale shows and even more that the show won’t be continuing. I will never watch ABC again, (except maybe for gH- which is not as good a show as the two that were cancelled. I’m getting sick of the violent themes. Thank you OLTL actors and crew for all these amazing years. Please some channel, network, online entity, save this remarkable show!
Please do more of these Loving LLanview shows. I live too far from Westbury, NY.
Well…I guess we know better now! Trevor was in the last scene. Now that Prospect Park dumped OLTL what are we to do with the cliff hangers? I was so excited to see Trevor…but what good does that do any of us? Todd Manning is getting arrested for the murder of Victor Lord, Jr. Any ideas what is going to happen?
If the PP deal had gone through, Todd would probably be tried and sentenced to die–like the previous Todd–and at the last minute before execution, John McBain shows up with Victor, saving Todd.
With Todd now moving to Port Charles, who knows if the storylines will be connected. RC can probably come up with some way to connect the storylines and get Todd off the hook. Or, let the trial be moved to Port Charles and Todd can be tried and sentenced there. Who’s to say TSJ won’t appear on GH?
getting rid of TSJ to bring back RH was short sighted. TSJ gave Todd dimensions and layers because he is a true artist. RH hasn’t a clue on how to get in and out of character. His acting was the exact same when he starred on As The World Turn. He was on a entirely different soap and supposedly playing the character of Paul. He changed or added nothing to the character of Paul. He was acting like Todd but called Paul.NO ABILITY TO GET IN AND OUT OF CHARACTER. He is one dimensional . And what’s with him acting as if he has some kind of nervous twich.
Liar! Thank goodness.
