Tristan Rogers On What's Ahead On Y&R In 2015: "Seems More Compelling Than Some Of The "Fare" We've Had Of Late. Think You'll Like It."

Soap opera veteran and current star of The Young and the Restless, Tristan Rogers did a New Years check in with his fans via Twitter over the last 24 hours, where he first let everyone know he is back from his trip visiting his homeland of Australia, and will be back at work at CBS soundstages in the role of Colin Atkinson starting tomorrow!
Of note was Tristan’s remarks and sentiments about Colin’s storylines where he offered up: “Ok guys and gals. I”m back from oz and raring to get back to work on Jan 6. Was great to be home with my mum. Whats in store? Cant say. So what can I say? Not a whole lot. However, it seems more compelling than some of the “fare” we’ve had of late. Think you’ll like it.”
Rogers also confirms he is with Y&R for another year with this tweet: “I am at Y&R for another year. Doesn’t mean I won’t do other stuff. But my mind is there and I want to make it prominent in daytime.”

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’
The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

Monday on Entertainment Tonight, the second set of nominations for the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards were announced which included the highly-coveted Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series – Actress and Outstanding Daytime Talk Series.
ET followed suit after Extra announced the nominees, as previously reported, in the Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series – Actor and Outstanding Daytime Talk Host.
Now, five leading ladies of the soaps are vying for the gold for Lead Actress and the category marked the first-ever nominations for CBS daytime’s Beyond the Gates when two actresses made the final cut. Only General Hospital is not represented among the actresses this year after Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) took home the trophy last year.

THE FIVE LEADING LADIES OF THE SOAPS ARE …
The 2026 Lead Actress nominees are: Stacy Haiduk (Kristen DiMera), Days of Our Lives, Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree), Beyond the Gates, Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers), The Young and the Restless, Heather Tom (Katie Logan), The Bold and the Beautiful, and Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree), Beyond the Gates.
This marks the first Daytime Emmy nominations for Karla Mosley and Tamara Tunie. In addition, this marks the first-time in her career that Stacy Haiduk had received a Lead Actress nod after two Supporting Actress nominations.
Meanwhile, Michelle Stafford had previously won 3 Emmys – 2 for Lead Actress and 1 for Supporting, but this recognition makes it her 11th overall nomination.
Heather Tom currently is tied for the most all-time Daytime Emmy wins with One Life to Live alum and General Hospital guest star, Erika Slezak. The B&B star has 19 nominations throughout her career.

DAYTIME TALK SERIES
In the Outstanding Daytime Talk Series category, the nominees are: 3rd Hour of Today, The Drew Barrymore Show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Live with Kelly and Mark, Today with Jenna and Friends and The View.
“We’re proud to honor the extraordinary talent and creative teams whose work continues to define and elevate daytime television,” NATAS president and CEO Adam Sharp said in a statement on the nominations. “As the Daytime landscape evolves and new forms of storytelling emerge, we remain committed to recognizing the innovation happening across the industry.”
The rest of the nominations will be revealed tomorrow on Tuesday July 14 starting on The View and then the full list of nominees in both the main and creative arts will be released by NATAS. The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards are slated for October 30th in Hollywood, California.

‘General Hospital’ Marks Unprecedented 16,000th Episode Milestone with New Cast Photo
Today’s Monday, July 13 episode of General Hospital marks it 16,000 episode to air on the ABC television network. It is a remarkable milestone. The previous television record was held by Guiding Light which clocked in at 15,762 episodes before it went off the air on CBS in 2009.
To mark the occasion, the cast, crew and creative team of General Hospital celebrated with a cake-cutting ceremony on the Prospect Studios lot in Los Angeles back on Monday, June 1, 2026.
In addition, GH has released a new cast photo taken the day of the on set celebration. Pictured in the photo are front row: Rory Gibson, Finn Carr, Kayden Brenna Tokarski, Asher Antonyzyn, Giovanni Mazza, Braedyn Bruner, Dean Geyer and Nathan Dean.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON THE 16,000th Episode?
The 16,000th episode will feature Jason Morgan returning to the town of Port Charles, Anna and Valentin (James Patrick Stewart) reuniting, and a new surgeon, Dr. Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) joining the staff of ‘General Hospital.’
GENERAL HOSPITAL HOLDS SEVERAL RECORDS
Now in its 64th year, Emmy Award-winning daytime drama General Hospital is currently both the longest-running scripted American drama and the longest-running American soap opera currently in production.
General Hospital holds the record for the most Outstanding Daytime Drama award wins, taking home the prestigious Daytime Emmy Award a record 18 times. Will they do it again and make it 19 in 2026? Stay tuned for the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy nominations tomorrow on Tuesday, July 14 to find out if GH will be going for gold in the category, once again.
The ABC daytime drama series was created by Frank and Doris Hursley and premiered back on April 1, 1963. Frank Valentini is the current executive producer with Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten are the show’s co-head writers.

I’m so sad and feel like crying…I missed him as iconic Robert Scorpio…I wish GH had signed him when they first got him back. It really hurt to see him on another soap when he so belongs on GH and they could used him, every story on GH Robert could slide right into because he was part of it in the past, even if Fluke turn out to be Bill Eckert Robert was part of that story too…Oh, how I wish that GH would’ve signed their own super star first before signing other actors from other soaps. Port Charles needs Robert Scorpio!!

I miss Scorpio too, and Anna could use a love interest more worthy of her than Duke of Bloomingdale’s.
However, the way they are propping up DR O at Anna’s expense and the way they had this older woman get the best of our super spy, I don’t feel GH would treat Tristan with the respect he deserves.
Harry…I luv ya but I’m on this crusade about age. Dr. O is probably Scorpio’s age or younger. Can we just say…that they had a woman get the best of our super spy and leave age out if it? And even that…a woman overpowering a man is possible if she’s trained…do u watch REVENGE? Amanda Clark kicks butt! With that said…I was beyond pissed and incredulous when Dr. O clobbered him. Back in the day, from what I recall…he was hard to take down. So that was rather comical, disappointing and I agree with u and the others. I miss Scorpio…and when/if he ever comes back I hope they write him as the super spy, force to be reckoned with he always was…
PLEASE let Jill and Cain take the company away from Victor! Im sick of this mad man always getting away with everything and I turn the set off when he treats Sharon so awful!!! I hope Adam comes to his senses and remembers the love he had for Sharon. Nick will never grow up sadly. 🙁
Amen, Mysty! We surely could have had our dear Scorpio on contract were it not for that scenery-chewing, space-wasting Nina nuisance!!! By the way, I just read a blind scoop about a GH “diva” (their word, not mine….) who wants her character to be “put out of her misery” so she can leave the show. Would seem to me that description could fit very few of the current cast members….Ava? (MW appears to love her role and place on GH….) Madeline? (DM’s barely on….they only need to send her away, not die, to accomplish a permanent absence ….) Carly? (Nah….) To my mind, MS best fits that description given her crazy character’s present state, and let’s face it, her much-ballyhooed, bombastic b*+@# didn’t exactly go down a treat with a large number of viewers….I don’t believe Stafford was at all pleased with the reaction the Cray Clay received. (Not to mention the thumbs-up that GT is getting for her vastly-improved “NuPhyllis!”) Incidentally, the blind also stated that the show runners were debating killing-off vs. recasting the character. Hmmm….
Rebecca, I am totally on your side as far as the age kick goes (especially when it comes to women vs men) and I know you’re right.
It’s just sometimes I like to exaggerate (some would say I fabricate) to make either a point or a joke. I used to say Dr O looked she could make a cameo appearance as a villain on The Golden Girls. I also used to call her Betty White. Okay, I am going to rewrite my statements—- I was appalled that a mere mortal woman with no karate training or Vulcan grip training was able to get the best of Robert Scorpio, superspy of the 80’s. Is that a bit better (albeit less funny?).
But I know full well she is a lot younger than Tristan and probably about Finola Hughes’ age. So I do apologize to both you and Young Katherine.
Shay, I love the new Phyllis and I never could tolerate this character before. See how this character just lights up when shades of nuances are allowed to flicker through rather than that sneering, scene chewing woman who always acts the same no matter what the scene?
I dont know why Frank didnt sign Tristan long term. Maybe because if Robert were around he would have sniffed out Fluke. Same goes with Laura.
I really liked Jill/Colin the couple but hated that lame music box storyline. Both actos talent were being wasted and they were off screen more than on…I hope 2015 is better for them and they’re used to their full potential..
One of the worst stories EVER on a soap!
I kept thinking the music box was going to surprise us with a shocker but it became abundantly clear that the music box needed to keep company with a Charlie in the Box on the island of unwanted toys and story lines.
Both Tristan and Jill were totally wasted last year by the writers caught up in that stupid, never ending music box story with Tristan being doubly wasted owing money to some unknown loan shark all the time. Thankfully that trash is all over with and it was revealed last week that Jill, Colin, and Cane were going to try and get Chancellor Industries back from Victor. It’s about damn time for that story. I’m guessing we can thank new writer Mr. Pratt for it. Y&R has been kicking butt lately.
I wish colin would leave jill needs another job because she’s not good at this one.victor is out of his character way they made him this way l don’t no he isn’t helping nick any.why did they do this to victor, they written him in as the town villain, and it shouldn’t be that way.it’s like victor turn on his family and went to the enemy. I dislike Colin….like him a bit better now than I did before, during his stupid, criminal escapades. Ergo, the senseless music box storyline. Has he turned a new leaf? Has his love for Jill changed him? I don’t know.
However, I dislike Victor even more….always have. The man makes my skin crawl much as Sonny does. They both rub me the wrong way. Just my personal feeling and opinion.
So, if Colin’s intention to help Jill and Cain overtake CI is not so pure, sobeit. I would rather have Colin, the carpet bagger, than Victor, the dragon, at the helm. Slay the dragon…down with its head. I wish I were St. George(tte).

I like that they are having Colin deviate from being a low rent, sleazy con artist and they are going to give him a loftier story worthy of Tristan’s talents.
They have a gem in this actor and so far he’s been a wasted natural resource.
I really hope Colin and Jill have more compelling story this year than in 2014. That music box mystery was lengthy, dull and a waste of Tristan Rogers and Jess Walton’s talents. Also, Jess needs to be put on contract and utilized WAY more! She’s a phenomenal actress and has the closest connection to the show’s matriarch, Katherine, of all the current characters on the show. And that’s what I think the show needs to capitalize on this year: the Chancellor dynasty. Bring back Brock and Tucker, Katherine’s sons, and put them in story with Jill and Colin. Have them take back Chancellor Industries from Victor and showcase the family more.
Well, that’s my wish. But at the very least, Colin and Jill need better story this year.
Note to GH. If you want to keep an actor around that promises good ratings then offer them a contract

Um no. What happened was he was on a recurring basis with GH. He called GH and said what’s up. No contract was offered. So his agent saw that y and r offered him a contract and he told Tristan. Gh knew nothing of this and several rewrites were demanded. Again like I said if GH wants to keep an actor that promises good ratings then offer the actor a contract.
I LOVE Tristen…I have since the 80’s,,,however, I have to say that I was secretly hoping they would release him from Y&R so he could go back to GH as Robert Scorpio! I love that character…but I also like Colin with Jill…Ok maybe he can do both! 🙂

actors work for money and Y&R could give Tristan the big dollars, he went where the money was and I bet he’d love to be back in the ”action” of GH..

“Guys, I had no idea @tristanrogers was leaving I found out last night. I now have 1 day to write him out of a big February Sweeps storyline. Meanwhile, you will see a lot of Robert between now and February! And please respect [Rogers] and his decision.”

Sure, let’s just destroy Y&R even more than it was under MAB and so far with JFP! Let’s get rid of great actors and veteran characters like Sharon Case, Jess Walton and Amelia Heinle, in favour of what exactly? More newbies? Turning Y&R into GH 2.0 with similar storylines (explosions, diseases, etc) and eliminating half the cast because they’ve been annoying this year, isn’t a solution.
The only one I agree with you on, is Billy. Burgess Jenkins is completely wrong for the role. He needs to go, and they need to find a more suitable actor for the role.
Both Dylan and Devon, as dull and boring as they may be right now, can be made interesting, and are both good actors – they just need the good material.
Jill and Lauren are sisters, and I adore Jess and Tracey. Lauren and Michael’s story looks promising, and hopefully the writers can develop a story worthy of Jess’s talents, unlike that music box disaster of a storyline.
As for Victoria, I think she and Stitch are good together, and I absolutely loved her and Billy Miller’s Billy; I think the writers can get her back to that, maybe with Stitch, or maybe someone else.
As for Sharon, the character was destroyed so wholly by MAB, and that trend is continuing with the current writers, but hopefully they are able to stabilize her again in 2015.
Getting rod of characters just because they’ve had off years isn’t the solution; it’s creating good stories worthy of the actor’s talents, which Y&R can definitely do.
LOL… I have to agree about some of these tired characters such as Lauren , Dylan ( OMG he is so so boring…I love Avery but not with him) the nuBilly does nothing for me…and yes Sharon;s fate may indeed be ending soon as I think she may be on her last leg.
Cane is just eh…I like him better without that bitchy self righteous wife Lilly always controlling him…she can also go with the Cannibals (LOL)
The show is a mess, the nuAdam has not been written very well….so far.

I was hoping Y&R would write out the character so Tristan can return home to GH where he belongs. Robert would sort out the Fluke storyline in about a week, lol. He’s sorely missed in Port Charles.
It’s very telling when you go on Tristan’s Facebook page, and the vast majority of the comments are people asking when he’s coming back to GH. They can call him Colin or any other name, but he’s always gonna be Robert Scorpio, one of the all-time iconic soap characters. I look forward to the day when he returns.

Hey, if Y&R can share Eileen Davidson with “Days,” and GH can share Wally Kurth with “Days,” why can’t there be room for both Colin AND Robert Scorpio on daytime’s rich canvas? Hmmmm?
Wally hasn’t been on Days for a while. Don’t know if that’s because he’s so busy on GH, but I’m tired of hearing Justin is out of town on business.
Eileen works for soaps distributed by the same company – Sony – so they were able to work out a deal that way. Wally is not on contract on either soap he is on, giving him the freedom to extend beyond the boundaries that contracts set, and work on other projects (including other soaps). Tristan is under contract at Y&R, and since GH is Y&R’s biggest competition, I doubt they would be willing to share, and I doubt it is contractually possible for an actor to work on rival networks simultaneously.

Your comment comes off as if Y&R is being nice to DAYS, which it’s not. Eileen requested that her contract stipulate that she can appear on DAYS…Her decision, not Y&R’s, made possible through Sony who distributes both shows.
If Y&R was playing nice, they wouldn’t have come after Eileen when they realized how successfull she was as Kristen on DAYS, the role that made her an Emmy winner!
I don’t think Wally Kurth is under contract with DAYS or GH, so he’s free to go where he wants to go.
Finally, Y&R is not going to “share” a star with another soap unless that star is smart like Eileen Davidson. The star would have to want to anyway. Y&R went after TR to hurt General Hospital and help Y&R at the same time.
Yes, please, better story for Colin and Jill. That music box ended nowhere and the whole necklace in the chandelier was so stupid. The actors and the fans deserve better!!!!
Tristan and Jess just didnt forget how to act, they just got stuck with the worse story of 2014! Secondly, they dont have any chemistry. I would bring the original Tucker back. Him and Jill had chemistry. [You need Kathrine’s family around.] Third, I would reboot Tristan. He is daytime royalty. I would color his hair and bring him back as a tycoon with his wife, Emma Samms! He is much better as a James Bond spy like character with swagger. Emma and him were great on GH. Have them be old friends of the Newmans. Make him a part of the new development plan. If not, ride out this contract and then go back to GH where there are tons of stories for him.
Disappointed in this news. I much prefer him on GH and was hoping for his return to that show. I usually fast forward all his scenes on Y&R especially those with Jill. They haven’t got the appeal for me that Robert and Anna had on GH.
Didn’t they nearly write off Y&R’s Jill a couple of years ago? And when she came back, they paired her with Colin for occasional comic relief. To me, Colin is a caricature, not well written, and not engaging. Tristan would be far better off at GH, reprising a well-written, beloved character.

Triston would be with GH if Y&R had not lost MM/Adam and a couple of others..
Michels pay alone was a huge incentive for Triston to sign a contract, there was a lot more money offered him, most likely..
Y&R losing MM freed up a huge amount of money..
(same with losing Michelle- freed up a huge amount of money (her pay.. as with Billy his leaving freed up a huge amount of money, his pay..
The 3 replacements are not making anything close as to the salary of the 3, now gone..

Yes! More of Colin and Jill, please! I think they are a dynamic couple on screen and they seem to have such a rapport with one another. Can’t wait for the intrigue coming up with them and Victor! PS: Jess Walton is SOOOOO fabulous as Jill!!! Love every time she’s on screen!! Hilarious!!

I miss him so much on GH also. I thought maybe he was coming back so I’m very disappointed he’s staying on Y&R. His storyline on that show is no way as good as Robert Scorpio!!!
I would love to see jill and colin take over kate c’s business from victor-of course with his son involved(kane). and somehow with adam involved in this takedown. it would be awesome to see victor down on his high horse_, this would make jack’s year
