Interesting concept, looking forward to watching it.

It does sound interesting, but not as interesting as the goings on behind hotel-room doors ….such as today.
Please forgive me for derailing, but I absolutely loved it!! I suppose one could see the hilarity in that. The insouciant, debonair air displayed by Julian was succulent, albeit I know he enjoyed every minute spent with Olivia. He is so ruggedly gorgeous…I loved him and Olivia together. Is this a start of something hot and meaningful? Her beauty and sex appeal has been kept under lock and key. I am so glad to be so pleasantly surprised by her delectable acting.
I got a glimpse of her baby bump…..Olivia will be pregnant with Julian’s baby. What a turn of events!!

I suppose both Alexis and Ned swallowed a bitter pill…and, their righteous indignation only proves their jealous irritation. Olivia and Julian…yeeessss!!!!! I love it.
I found their banter sexy and entertaining.

hi
she is too far along to have a GH baby daddy..
she will go off on a great job or some such thing and then return less the bump..

the only one near the bump size, to be the daddy would be Sonny ahahaa..

Here, here, CeeCee!!!! I’m so gratified to know that I was not the only one to be absolutely delighted to see the new coupling of “Julivia!” Such fun!!!! And about time Mr. Jerome found himself a fabulous, foxy (and possibly extremely fertile) female to keep him away from that horrible, habitually-haranguing hag, Alexis. What could possibly be richer than the moment when that self-righteous, bust-baring broad had the nerve to excoriate her “babydaddy” (and his new comely squeeze…) for engaging in the exact same behavior which she just had???? I am soooo sick of that exhausting woman and her undeserved superior “attitude!” I do hope you are correct when you surmise Olivia may end up with a little “Julian Jr.” Talk about a much-deserved slap in the face to Ms. Davis!!!!

Hey, su. Wouldn’t that be something? Sonny…that’s funny.

I also enjoyed Julian and Olivia. I like how the writers are giving Lisa some comedic scenes. She is a beautiful actress, sexy-and shouldn’t be written into a corner as only Dante’s mother, Rocco’s grandmother, or Sonny’s old girlfriend. I have enjoyed her scenes with Wally and now William.

To me, Olivia and Julian just fit. As Phoebe from Friends said of Rachel, “She’s his (Ross’s) lobster.”
Now I used to adore Alexis. The stuffy, Yuppie, buttoned down Yale Law School graduate who became all flustered when a bad boy tried to seduce her. Then she played that role again….and again…..and again until suddenly Alexis is in her fifties still playing the flustered, formerly repressed virginal attorney who has finally discovered not only her G spot but her cleavage. I mean, really, good for her —we viewers get that Alexis has discovered her Mojo but please give her a storyline which doesn’t revolve around her sacrificing her morals, her integrity, her dignity and mostly her intelligence to the sexy bad boys like Sonny, Jerry,Sean and now, Julian.
My disenchantment with Alexis reached its height yesterday when she acted like a total high school mean girl to Olivia who unnecessarily apologized to Alexis for sleeping with Julian. One, Julian is not your BOYFRIEND, Alexis, and two, you slept with Ned just to sock it to Julian and while knowing full well Olivia was romantically drawn to him I do not like to see any women act like adolescents but when they’re intelligent and educated women of a certain age, I find it kind of depressing.

@Harry.
Thank the Lord for you, Harry…..the voice of sagacity and wisdom.

@Harry….To quote you, Sir—if I may—your character analysis of Alexis was “a thing of beauty.” Just so eloquent and spot on!!! In a myriad of ways, it reflects my likewise regards for her, yet sounds far, far better coming from a male perspective….most particularly since I am currently being excoriated by another frequent poster for my similar critiques of Ms. Davis.

I’m sorry Shay…but as we frequent the same posts I can’t but help notice that you’ve now “hopped around the board” alluding to our discussion whilst mentioning me in your thinly veiled manner. But at least this time I got a laugh. You’re comparing Harry’s feeling about Alexis with yours. Let’s revisit your descriptive above…which by the way is the tamer version of your other descriptives of her. And I quote, ” from that horrible, habitually-haranguing hag, Alexis.” And then you go on to call her “that self-righteous, bust-baring broad” You’re also sick of that “exhausting woman and her undeserved superior attitude” and hope that Olivia may end up with a little “Julian Jr. which would result in a much “deserved slap in the face to Ms. Davis!!!!” Ya, I see the similarity between what you and Harry said Okay. Not really. (And by the way…”hag” is rather insulting to the actress…wouldn’t you say?)

how would i go about finding, where and when i can watch “general hospital now” o my laptop? not computer savvy! need easy way to access this program??? don’t want to miss it! HELP!!!

Dawn…just go to abc.com and click on the show.

Look like GH Now is going to be hilarious and fun to watch. I can’t wait to tune in.

I bookmarked it. I’m ready!

Love NLG since way back to her Santa Barbara days. Love that she’s at the forefront of trying new stuff and promoting the genre!

I agree!

Love her too. I always enjoy seeing her. Alexis is one of my favorite characters. She can turn on a dime from neurotic and vulnerable to commanding powerhouse attorney…from mother hen to a playful flirt. Conflicted by her high moral standards and propensity for rough around the edges men…she always, eventually, takes the higher ground. Somehow thru it all Nancy manages tp play Alexis as ultimately lovable, dependable and loyal. Down to earth. Intelligent
woman/actress. I’ll be curious to check out her show; whether it’s something I’d actually watch is debatable. I do hope though that somehow it creates enough buzz or interest to further along the soap genre.

So, in other words, you like her, you REALLY like her!!!! It’s funny how two people can harbor such polar opposite views of the same character, since as you already know, dear rebecca1, my regards for your precious Alexis are far, far less glowing, and certainly NOT brimming with your positive superlatives! In terms of this particular woman, I am simply appalled by her and confounded that anyone can find her to be worthy of admiration. Wardrobe choices and physical/age-appropriate considerations aside—-yes, I have refrained from discussing them especially for you!— there are so many other facets of Ms. Davis which neither impress me nor ingratiate her to me…….she is self-righteous, difficult, overbearing, prone to talking everything to death, not to mention far too enslaved to her libido and actually quite reckless when it comes to answering its frequent call. She also possesses a really nasty side, as was demonstrated with her uncalled for mean girl gloating/upbraiding behavior with Olivia. (So very vicious and supremely hypocritical was that little episode….) Furthermore, I am more than just a bit perplexed about those “high moral standards” and “higher ground”” you mention. Exactly how does having three children with three different men, including two out of wedlock, constitute “high morals?” Particularly when you consider the questionable characters of said “babydaddies,” not to mention the often dangerous and deplorable lifestyles of these men to which Ms. Davis has repeatedly exposed her offspring? I’m sorry, but all of these aforementioned aspects that comprise the character of Alexis don’t say lovable, dependable and loyal to me….on the contrary, they spell “trainwreck!”

Well, dear Shay. She had a child, Sam, during a teenage tryst. That hardly makes her immoral…it makes her human in an all-too (most likely common ) situation. She had Molly with her then-husband, Rick..and she was crazy about Sonny when she spent her night with him. As the old adage goes…you can’t help who you fall in love with. However, she manages to convince herself that she can change these men to the good, and when she can’t she breaks her own heart by breaking up with them. That doesn’t make her a bad person lacking morality, it makes her a flawed character with issues that for many of us find endearing and someone we want to root for. She’s never schemed to hurt anyone, ala Carly, Tracy, Connie, Britt…all characters I like by the way except for Carly…just can’t get past her wrath and destruction toward AJ and now Franco. My point is as I said…Alexis can be verrrry funny, witty, sarcastic…but underneath she’s wise, intelligent, grounded. She may not succeed but she always tries to do the right thing. By the way, she kept Kristina away from Sonny for her entire childhood to keep her safe from his life. As for her attitude toward Olivia re Ned, I have a different take than u on that. I don’t think Alexis doesn’t have a mean bone in her body…I don’t think she slept with Ned to get anyone jealous…I think though she cares deeply for Ned as an ex fiancé and current friend…she still loves Julian…but is fighting it. She’s trying to proceed in a relationship with Ned because she knows he’s good and good for her, so on the surface she thinks she wants him, but subliminally she knows she’s not over Julian. Not intentionally, she lashed out at Olivia with her jealousy…not malicious intent. And there, dear Shay, are just some of the reasons I love this down-to-earth, brilliant, loving, flawed character. Cleavage and all.

And, yes, like Sally, I really, really like her!

Well, rebecca1, at least we can agree about Carly! One must celebrate the small victories in life, n’est ce pas??? By the way, hope you received my response to the “hag” post….it didn’t materialize online, but as long as it made its way to you, I suppose that’s all that matters. If not, I shall attempt to resend it…..

Lol, Shay…yes. We must hold on to the small ties that bind us ALS Carly and AJ. No, I didn’t get your hag, lol, retort. Can’t wait. Ya. And I had a fabulous answer to your other post to me with your indignation regarding my interpretation of your viewing/character preferences. I must say my reply quite fully matched and exceeded your observations but unfortunately, it too, went onward to oblivion. Still trying to iron out the kinks I’m my iPad so though I kinda figured out how to copy and paste on this thing it just didn’t save. Sigh…what a waste of insight and perception…;) carry on. If I get too pissed at your writings I’ll just close my eyes…

Okay, rebecca1, how about if I replace “hag” with “harpy?” Is that better? I’m endeavoring to contemplate other suitable “h” words that capture my perceived essence of Alexis whilst at the same time keeping the alliterative flow going…so, yes, I believe harpy fills the bill. I can definitely go with that one…..just for you, I shall edit my previous post! LOL…..As for my praise of Harry’s work of verbal art, I was simply showing my appreciation for our oft- shared view of Alexis, which he so ably and beautifully expressed….even if it were of a much kinder and gentler nature than my own. Additionally, based upon his past observations regarding Ms. Davis, we appear to be kindred in our estimation of her character. Unlike you and I, who are miles–okay, continents, uh, make that …….galaxies, apart!!!!!!!

You can alliterate to your heart’s content. Unfortunately, none of your carefully placed words describe Alexis. It might be better to study human nature to have a better understanding of this woman’s psyche. You can then apply that creative flair to accurately describe the character…or Sabrina’s for that matter. This is not to say you don’t have a right to dislike a character (s) , but at least let the reasons be for something they are or have done. So far I haven’t seen that in your admittedly superlative writing.

Of course I was being “tongue-in-cheek” with that response, rebecca1, but what it really all comes down to is the fact that you and I have vastly divergent perspectives of this character, and nothing is ever going to change that. Whereas you assign noble and admirable traits to Alexis, I simply do not, never will and believe you me, I am not alone. Long before I began posting here, I often mused with female friends over various aspects of GH—I still do—and quite frankly, amongst all of these highly intelligent, educated and tasteful women is/was the consensus that Ms. Davis did/does not at all possess those shining attributes which you have ascribed to her. As a matter of fact, were I to share some of the negative “adjectives” used to accurately reflect their opinions of her, I assure you they would cause you considerable disconcertment. All I am trying to convey is that your love of this character is not by any means universal, and for a variety of reasons….many of which I have previously enumerated, whether they personally satisfied your requirements for critiquing….or not. My most basic one comes down to the fact that whenever I see Alexis burst onto the scene, my primary, visceral response is what a disheveled mess! Compared to the polished, professional manner in which other GH contemporaries of her character, such as Diane Miller, Dr. O., Anna, Monica, Madeline, Helena, etc. present/comport themselves, Alexis simply does not come across as a well-put together individual, either in her person or persona. And yes, one can sometimes judge a book by its cover….you mention the utilization of human behavior in character analyses, and to that end, an adage comes to mind from my MBA marketing studies—courtesy of a professor with a PhD in Psychology….—“The medium is the message.” While Marshall McLuhan was referring to the given mode of a chosen advertising communication, this rule can also be applied in the sense that whatever element provides that first impression is the essence of the message received, whether true and intended, or otherwise. Hence, when I use descriptions of physical traits in my regards—or disregards, if the shoe fits—-for a given character, it often reflects my interpretation of their inner psyches based upon that criteria–as I have envisioned them–despite the fact that you consider that to be superficial in nature. Once those initial reactions are embedded in one’s mind, it is very difficult to overcome them, particularly when later words, deeds and actions by a said character serve to compound and validate those preconceived notions. All I am saying is that simply because we “judge” (for lack of a better term…) characters in such a polar-opposite fashion does not mean that mine are any less based upon the studies of “human nature” than yours. Perhaps it’s rather that like so much else, we simply use different approaches to that end….with far less emphasis on the “psychobabble” in my case, and more on the power of visual observation, i.e., “cues.” (Think “Sherlock,” although I would certainly never deign to place myself in his stratosphere of analytical prodigiousness….) I also have no doubt that our own personal bents immensely color our generally at-odds opinions….while you are obviously quite the firebrand when it comes to feminist issues, I am pretty much a happy camper in the so-called war of the sexes….I’ve never experienced much angst in that arena….thus, don’t identify with those who find grievances regarding the hot-button topics of body image, ageism, discrimination, etc. lurking behind every corner…. Hence, a lot of those pesky factors that annoy many females–including some, though not many that I know—really don’t propel me, and that is obviously reflected in our diametrically-opposing views on everything from soup to nuts. At any rate, it’s highly apparent that we could debate our Alexis—or Sabrina—or pick your subject—“impasse(s)” ad infinitum, and never get anywhere…..I guess we will have to agree to our disagreements in perpetuity and simply enjoy the intellectual exercise/ challenge of them sans any expectation of ever changing each others’ minds. In other words, savor the (sometimes arduous) journey without expecting to reach a mutual destination!!!! Until next time!…… P.S. A gracious thank you for your kind remarks about my writing….given your own impressive background in the field, I consider them a high compliment and sincerely appreciate them!!!!!

Shay…let me start by saying that you have managed to annoy me, piss me off, offend me…and yet you have succeeded in reigning me back in to our little friendly fire…and I’m okay with that! I much prefer out verbal sword fight that somehow always manages to wind up in a truce. I think that’s a testament to both of us. With that said, I don’t appreciate people playing both sides of the fence so to speak, so if we’re going to be frenemies, don’t say one thing to my face, so to speak, and another to my posted back!
As for out seeing characters out of different eyes, literally and figuratively; you’re right. I don’t judge a book by its cover. Some of the most slovenly people can be the biggest hearted…and some of the most polished quite the backstabber. Carly dresses immaculately, yet has cheated on I think all of her lovers. Michael is a lamb…but can turn lion on a dime if need be. Helena is the epitome of elegance, and is a ruthless psychopath. These illustrations apply to real people in real life too. Which is why we hear all the time, “I can’t believe he/she did it. They appeared so nice!”
Additionally, I don’t care how many people agree with you; on this board or off. That’s like saying all cigarette smokers think it’s their right to smoke in your face/space…vs the lone smoker fighting against it. The non-smoker is in the right. (perhaps not to any smokers who may be reading this.) My point is majority doesn’t mean right. Actually, human nature is such, as witnessed by the hatred and chaos in this world…that the majority needs a tuneup. However, if we must play the numbers game Nancy (in support of her character) has almost 150k followers. Now that ‘s not a lot in terms of how many soap viewers there are, but if you compare her number to some of the most popular characters she’s quite a the top.
When all is said and done, pertaining to our fictional GH friends, Sabrina had a heart of gold and was not manipulative. Yet several people attributed motive to everything she did. Alexis is not a hag, a harpy, a slut; she’s not decrepit, she’s not amoral…no matter how you think she “appears” or what she wears. It’s a ridiculous way to evaluate a person. And, if you do think all these things about her based on her actions, well then you must feel the same way about Sam, Anna, Monica, Tracy, Carly, Lulu, Maxi…and, let’s see, the entire cast. They’ve all cheated, lied, manipulated, Lulu got pregnant out of wedlock, she dated a gangster, Johnny…Monica cheated on Alan, Tracy is ruthless, Carly…well, let’s just say, Carly. Maxi went from Spinelli to Patrick’s brother, back to Spinelli to Levi to Nathan…Lulu’s married and making eyes at Johnny, Sam’s been with Jason, Lucky, Silas, Patrick (will do), her mother’s husband…I grow weary!
Viva wonderful funny, warm, intelligent, maternal, womanly, great friend, great aunt, defender of good…Alexis Davis! Long may this wonderful character live and thrive in Port Charles!
Oh. You’re welcome.

I think Nancy is multi-talented! I still remember Alexis as “Eddie’s Angel.” She brings such comedic genius to her scenes. Alexis’ scenes with her on-screen daughters always come across as genuine. She seems to exude such admiration and respect for the girls/women that play her daughters on-air. I also love her scenes with Julian and Diane. Nancy is just a class-act-all the way; and she is never afraid to voice her opinions!

I do agree, dmr. Nancy does seem to have that sardonic, comedic ingredient about her. Her quips, when delivered from left field are truly funny. Nevertheless, her mode of dress is passé and inappropriate. I can’t see her playing footsies with either Julian or Ned. JMO.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

Photo: ABC

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.
