Tristan Rogers Returning To General Hospital!

Great news out of Port Charles! Longtime General Hospital fan favorite, Tristan Rogers is reprising his role as Robert Scorpio.
Rogers himself confirmed the news that originated during a Daytime After Dark podcast with ABC executive Nathan Varni.
Varni had mentioned that it was in the plans to bring Scorpio back, adding, “We actually have an interesting story that the writers are working on. ”
Now Tristan took to his Twitter account and tweeted,”I’m coming back. Start work on March 19.”
Will Robert be back to help Anna (Finola Hughes) solve the mystery of the whereabouts of the child she had who’s bio-dad was recently revealed to be the evil Cesar Faison (Anders Hove)? Stay tuned!

Well, Frank probably had to apologize to Tristan for the way Robert was written the past few times. The character is not filler, so Robert must be playing a key role in upcoming story.

Sorry, not even Tristan can make this ugly story watchable. And a promised “big story” means he’s in and out for a few weeks with a few lines at the very best.
Likely in and out. And I am no fan of the lost child story Anna has. Too many lost children in Port Charles. I would accept a recast of Robin and allow Anna to have the family she already has.
Neither am I–stretches credulity–and violates Anna’s legacy. Way too far out (like all the other storylines). Not helping with viewership. I’m no longer watching but will come back to GH for Tristan AND Genie. Let’s go, already!
In the meantime, you are truly not missing much, Nancy…I am also none too thrilled with the Anna lost child storyline…I could have bought it if she had been hypnotized or brainwashed by Faison and the pregnancy occured without her knowledge or consent, but the way it has been written really does beggar belief for those of us who recall Anna as an intrepid WSB agent extraordinaire.

Robert and Anna had another child together, when they were on the run back in 92, Anna could of been pregnant, in back story, anna and robert were separated after some explosion took place in some boat/ship back in Venezuela and were then presumed dead along w/ Faison if memory serves me right , of course their death took place when both Tristan and finola left GH so this is what happened offscreen, we were just told they died along w/Faison, and why Anna and Robert separated and stayed separated was never explained. As i recall Anna showed up alive w/ amnesia years later on All my children, and even then no back story on what separated her from Robert, so my theory would be that anna was pregnant w/ child, Roberts child that is and hid from Faison to stay safe, loss her memory, but was pregnant, somebody helped her out, she couldn’t remember Robert and what happened to him, but gave birth, somehow the child was taken from her, and this would be my prefer back story on Anna then her having a baby w/ the evil Faison. somewhere out there theirs another scorpio kid in my mind, one that grew up to be like both of her parents and is a kick ass spy like them.
this is exactly what i assumed would be the case. That whole part of their history is untapped

Oh me too! I still remember the very first time I ever saw him on GH in what late ’79 or ’80? He had on a trenchcoat & it was foggy outside . . . I have loved him ever since even on Y&R where is character is such a jerk. Still love my Tristan!

Welcome back old chap. It’s been a while since you rescued Robin from Jerry Jax and saw her remarry Patrick Drake. I don’t really count the brief stint where you came to Perks with a binder that had pictures of LuLu’s fertilized eggs from Crichton-Clarke.

this Huntington’ disease… is throwing me for a loop. especially on how it’s dealt with Peter August.
NOW … Anna is petrified… ( she screwed every thing up ) making sure there were no loopholes… in keeping her daughter with Faison hidden. she’s alarmed about Faison being diagnosed with Huntington disease. so time is off the essence… seeing as how Felicia ( god, she’s so beautiful ) went right over to see Maxie.
naturally, I don’t want this passed down to Maxie child. this scare is keeping this story lit.
WHO is Anna missing daughter. WOW she’s playing all the beats… how she managed to keep this hidden… and watching her now… as it’s surfacing .. ( ISN”T IT NICE TO see Andre, helping her out ? ) YES ! I could see a reunion with these two.

Anna doesn’t have a daughter. Her child is Peter/Henrik. Valentin lied to her when he told her she had a daughter…
I would agree. He is sending her on a wild goose chase. Hopefully he comes clean when he hears about the Huntington’s.
Hi Rebecca…Where did I miss that Valentin had lied to Anna about having a girl instead of a boy? If indeed even the latter is true. There were so many Cassadins, over the years,Anna, Robert, Luke, Robin, etc. in and out of clinics, disguises, in “suspended animation” in the past. Anything could be true or false. Then there is still her own twin sister. Complicated.
Regardless, I’m still liking Peter August/Hendrick. Don’t know how he feels about Lulu, but I feel he’s genuine in his concern for Maxie.
Loving having Triston/Robert back. He belongs along side of Anna one way or another. Hopefully a rekindled love interest since it is so hard for any other guy to meet up to Anna’s standards when she’s on her game…fun and adventurous at the same time. Duke was also good with her but in a more sensual way. And I do like Finn, but imo he’s just not the one for her.
Do you or anyone remember why Robert left a few years ago before Y&R? Was it a WSB assignment?

It seemed to me that after Valentin told Anna she had a girl he called Peter and told him he’d thrown Anna off the track and that he (Peter) should stay in town. So, we know Peter is Faison’s son (or at least we and Peter/Henrik, himself) believe him to be…
Unless it was purposely written to throw viewers off the track as well, it seemed to me that Valentin has known what happened to Anna’s child all along, never lost track of that child (Peter) and is keeping him a secret from Anna for some reason.
With that said…is Peter’s the brother from a different mother? Meaning…not Anna’s? Or, did Anna have twins and one, a daughter, still out there (or in town, someone we know…)
The writers have been known to switch things up at the last minute so I guess all possibilities exist. I came away with no doubt that Valentin had lied and told Anna she had a girl to throw her off the track and away from Peter. Why… is the mystery…
We agree regarding Peter/Henrik. I don’t know why he’s getting so much criticism,I like the character and I like Wes’s portrayal. He’s unlike others in the town…has a mellow demeanor, a kindness about him and even while being duplicitous comes off somehow vulnerable and conflicted. I think he’s very sincere in his despair over Nathan’s death, has guilt and seems to be interested in Maxi (at first I thought Lulu). Not sure if they’ll make him cray-cray in the end in his desperate search for love, family and perhaps trying to have his brother’s life???? Or, I could be theorizing on a story that doesn’t exist. That’s my take at this point. I hope they don’t recast the character. There’s not a lot of praise for the actor on this site; not sure how it is in Twitterland, etc…
I’m thrilled that Tristan is back but he was so misused in his last several visits that I’d almost wished he hadn’t returned. He wasn’t the Scorpio of yore. His humor/snark/quick wit…his ricochet brilliant sleuthing mind wasn’t used at all. I think they even had him sit on a bridge chair in the last row when Robin and Patrick got remarried! Just a waste of one of the most popular GH vets.
So I guess we’ll see if he’s here to stay or just to pop in. There can’t be any thought of a rekindled romance if he’s just on for a short stay. I’ve always liked the Anna/Andre pairing since they “flirted” with the possibility of this couple and then dropped it…instead paired up Jordan with Andre. They’d be a good match…Andre, too, has WSB connections and that type of “sleuth” mind….
I like Anna and Finn, too. I think the writers have gone out of their way to show both Anna and Alexis as “women” and not just their professions. So, both Anna and Alexis are more flirty, more sexual, more looking toward romance. In that sense, Anna flirts with both Finn and Andre. We’ve seen her interest in both men (at different times) and I think both potential relationships have been fun and could work. Andre is more grounded; Finn more eccentric. Not sure which I prefer now that Andre’s back. I like Finn with Alexis, too. They’re both brilliant but neurotic, playful and play off each other well. Not sure but I’m enjoying the different interactions between all these characters. (I’m REALLY hoping Hayden doesn’t come back with their baby but you know that’s bound to happen and shake things up.)
I think it was the WSB that took Scorpio away again; if I remember he was just in town to tell Lulu her embryo was still vital or something like that…
Well, hip. hip hooray! I am a huge fan of the one and only Robert Scorpio, who is cooler than the other side of the pillow.
I am no fan, however, of this dreary, depressing story which has Anna having a baby with her own personal Devil–Faison. I wish they had not gone there.
But if it brings Robert Scorpio back I shall be more forgiving of the bad writing they are affording to Finola Hughes.
Now, give Robert his own intriguing storyline–make it a good one.
And make it last for more than five minutes! The past few times Robert has landed in Port Charles the parting has not been a sweet sorrow, but a doubletake….as in what just happened? One moment Scorpio was there and the next he was gone in the blink of an eye! This charming guy is one of the most popular GH legacy characters ever and he, along with Genie’s Laura and Finola’s Anna, deserves to be feted and honored with storylines that are both substantial and respectful of their Port Charles past.
Scorpio should never, EVER be used as filler or background, that’s an insult to what this ACTOR & CHARACTER was and brought to GH..he’s still generate to much excitement and still very popular to be used in anything then 1 of the center character, he could definitely filled the void left by Tony Geary, Tristan and Robert Scorpio should’ve filled that void when Tony retired in 2015.
Luckily we havent seen or heard of Colin so maybe he is done with Y&R and GH can use him for a while.

This show has been so haphazard, and poorly written for decades now, … If they couldn’t build Laura (Genie) back, what hope is there for Scorpio. Soaps in the US these days aren’t about structured story telling, they’re more like an adrenaline rush for folks on valium. I mean no offence to my fellow fans, the only reason I still watch is for the actors, it’s TPTB and the writers who continuously offend.

Having emotions, being all misty/weepy has nothing to do with being a strong woman. Anna can kick just as much as as she always did and when she needs to. That has nothing to do with her having emotions. She’s brains, brawn and heart. Those are good things!
What I will grant you is the show in general has focused on a lot of sad stories simultaneously which has no doubt increased the stock to rise in Kleenex as characters and viewers alike are having one group cry after another! 😉

Of course, I have remained tear-free because I find it impossible to emotionally-invest in most of these inane characters currently inhabiting Port Charles…the majority of the time I just wish they would be sucked up by some big hole in the old terrafirma! Other than some residual fondness for a few legacy players, I simply don’t give a fig what happens to any of these people!. What’s really a crying shame is to see how this once mighty soap has fallen….now that’s something that truly can make me just weep! (Quite frankly, if I’m in the mood to be “moved,” I go to YouTube and look up vintage GH episodes that had actual heart and soul….in spades!)

I love Robert Scorpio, and I hope he has a successful return. I also hope the love of his life, ‘Holly” is with him. I never could get into Anna.
For those who resent the s/l of Anna having a child with Faison, do you all know Anna’s history? She was a double agent, a traitor to her country. When Robert asked her why she betrayed her country, she stated it was for the money. She also lied about meeting Faison when she entered the DVX. Faison’s mother, who was Anna’s nanny, (Nanny McTavish), stated that Anna had been knowing Faison, since a young teen, and would accept money from him. Anna also became a fence. She framed Holly with stolen Buddahs in an attempt to reconcile with Robert. When she met Duke, she wanted to run away with him and leave Robin with Robert. She was going into the Witness Protection Program. She was willing to never see Robin again because of her selfish love for Duke. Anna always looked out for Anna. She twisted and bent the law for her own purposes. She killed Carlos because he killed mobster Duke…the show later whitewashed it, and said that Carlos was wearing a bulletproof vest.
Consequently, if Anna Devane was a traitor, and was giving up her child to be with Duke, was a fence, framed innocent Holly, lied about knowing Faison, when in actuality she had a relationship with him as a young teen, there should be no doubt that she could have a child for him. Her history makes this story very believable…more believable than any story that is on the show at the present. Anna’s association with Faison has caused much havoc to many characters in Port Charles, including her child, Robin and Robert Scorpio. He had to give up 15 years of his life for her being a traitor, in order to keep Robin safe. This s/l is wayyyyy overdue, in my opinion. Anna Devane needs to pay for her deeds!
I am super excited for Robert Scorpio’s return. He is my all time favorite GH character. I hope they spark something with Anna and Robert again, it would be fun to watch. Can not wait for Tristan Rogers to grace the screen again. GH just needs to write a story worthy of RXS and Tristan will breathe new life into Port Charles again. Hope they give him quality air time and keep him back for awhile!
I am so thrilled Robert is coming back! But please pleaee please GH dont just use him to pop in and pop out….he is a legacy character and arguably the greatest character on GH ever. Tristan does such a phenomenal job as RXS and deserves to be wrote into a big storyline. The fans want it and it is looooong overdue. We want Robert Scorpio back full time to work next to another legacy character, Anna. These two together, no matter what dynamic, are incredible. Please give us Scorpio amd Devane back!

53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations Announced: ‘The Young and the Restless’ Tops With 18, ‘Beyond the Gates’ With 16
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the full list of nominees for the upcoming 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, and it was CBS daytime’s The Young and the Restless and broadcast television newest soap opera, Beyond the Gates that racked up the most nominations with 18 and 16, respectively.
The full reveal on Tuesday follows the announcement of several major categories including Lead Actor and Actress on Monday via Extra and Entertainment Tonight and The View today revealing Daytime Drama Series and more.
The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmys ceremony is set to take place on Friday, October 30 at the historic Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’
The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16
General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
