DYNASTY Ups Four To Series Regulars As Season Three Kicks-Off

Just in time for the start of the new season of CWs deliciously wicked soap reboot of Dynasty! News on Friday has that four members of the cast have been upped to series regular, meaning they will be pivotal in story and see a lot more screen time.

According to Deadline:  the third actress to play Cristal Jennings, Daniella Alonso, who debuts tonight in the season three opener has been made series regular. Along with the previously recurring: Michael Michele (Dominique Devereaux), Sam Underwood (Adam Carrington) and Adam Huber (Liam), who have now been upped to major cast status.

Additionally, Elizabeth Gillies (Fallon) seemed to have taken over the the role of Alexis from Nicollette Sheridan.  Is this going to be a doppelgänger story, or not? Time will tell.

The new season gets underway with new showrunner Josh Reims, and Sallie Patrick staying on as an executive producer.

CW’s Dynasty is a modernized reboot of the 1980s primetime soap of the same name, the series follows two of America’s wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys, as they feud for control over their fortune and their children.

Drew Barrymore Daytime Talker A Go: Set For Launch 2020

CBS Television Distribution is getting more into the daytime talk show arena, with their first series of that kind in quite some time, after confirming that Drew Barrymore will indeed have a daytime talk show that now will premiere in the fall of 2020.

The new syndicated talk show has already had CBS Television Stations signing on as the first station group around the country to carry the show. New York and Los Angeles are on-board as two key heavyweight markets.

According to Deadline: the pickup for Barrymore’s talker came rather quickly just two months after she shot the pilot for it in the Big Apple.

The decision to move forward with Drew’s new show comes on the heels of a strong showing by NBC Universal’s new daytime talker, The Kelly Clarkson Show and the good start for Disney’s Tamron Hall Show.

As to where in the day-part the syndicated series hosted by Barrymore might fall in your daily viewing schedule is yet to be determined.

With solid ratings for Kelly Clarkson, Tamron Hall, and a new Barrymore talk series on the way; do you think it signifies more trouble ahead for your daytime soap operas in the long-run, or will everyone be able to have their slots and retain their audience and co-exist happily ever-after? Share your theories via the comment section below.
