Now here’s an intriguing bit of casting news out of General Hospital. According to an item from EW.com, Veronica Cartwright (Aliens, L.A Law) will appear on the ABC daytime drama series in a secret role.

The tidbit on her part that was revealed is that she will share scenes with Maura West (Ava Jerome).

Cartwright’s first episode will air sometime in early July and it will be a five episode arc.

Last seen in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,. Cartwright has worked in TV and film since 1961 amassing a huge amount of acting credits including the motion pictures: Witches of Eastwick, The Right Stuff, plus the above mentioned credits.

So what would Cartwright’s mystery role have to do with Ava J.?  Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

I Never heard of her.. So- eehh
I never heard of this guy, Brody Lovett, either.
But- I got an email telling he’s coming to GH for a long stay.. he’s from OLTL..
I hope he won’t be Dante or Nichols..
He best be a new whoever.

Brody Lovette, the new Lucky?

Laura DOES need her son Lucky–and her son Nickolas.

Hello, T,
Great guess, I’d say—-Lucky….Ava’s new love interest?

Oh, please, no. . . . I love Ava, but . . . no, let’s keep Lucky out of her orbit, please. How about Lucky comes back and rescues Liz from the clutches of Franco?

I agree, a Lucky, Liz, Franco triangle.

JJ would ONLY come back if Tony were still there so yeah, lets recast Lucky and move forward.

LOL, Michael—I just threw Lucky in there for kicks—-I know who he is but, I wasn’t watching when he was a permanent fixture on GH.
I agree with you—I like Franco ( sort of) and I love Miss Lizzie, but separately. This must be the most boring couple!! Seriously!!
I don’t know Lucky’s personality. However, I do know Ava’s….. she bresthes sexy “fayah” from every pore—-she’s all woman!! Not too many men have the power to tame the Sinuous Siren!! I would think Kevin, with his gentlemanly comportment, hides a beast ( in a loving but arduous way—not a’ la Ryan, of course)—-Kevin–HMMMM—-therein lies the perfect mate for Ava. Kevin represents the quiet, sedate, intelligent, intuitive species of man with an undercurrent that is not readily seen. Yum!! I love Jon!! LOL.
You know what other couple will be a bust??!! Valentin and the new Nina. She is the ‘palest’ copy of the original. ” Nothing Compares” to Michelle Stafford’s liveliness; her finesse, her savoir-faire, her lanky, harmonious perfect body, her smile, her charisma, her come-hither look ——her everything!!
Bye❤️.

That would be fine with me. JJ is clearly not coming back, and it’s time to accept that and recast. Mark Lawson would be a fine choice.

If Mark Lawson (the actor who played Brody) is coming to GH, that would be fantastic news. He’s charming, funny and likable and also can play serious stuff. I would tune in again to see him!

Look up Veronica on IMDB. A storied career. Maybe you should get out more.

Hi su000.

Veronica starred in a movie which went into wide release the very same day GH first aired, April 1st, 1963…The Birds, in which she played Cathy. In the movie Cathy turned 11, but in real life the actress turned 13 and cast and crew threw her a party on set.

I’ve always liked her. She was good in Alien, but many of her scenes were cut, most likely so as not to upstage the star, the wife/or would be wife of that movie’s director.

Possibly my favorite movie starring her was the first remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

It’s been a while since I’ve visited this site, but I hadn’t been snatched. lol

Hi !! 🙂
those movies were before my time on earth, but-
I saw a ‘Body Snatchers’ movie, a new version I assume, and it was very good..and it had a totally new cast I’d imagine.
4ever DAYS, visit more often 🙂

SuOO, the classic movies are before EVERYBODY’s time! I know you like to remind everyone how young you think you are but this line is getting, ahem, rather OLD! George Washington was before my time too but I do know he was our first president of the United States. You are missing out by electing not to watch Hitchcock masterpieces like The Birds, Vertigo and Rear Window. Check out TCM–they are always playing brilliant classic movies.

LOL! Perfect response, Harry (no offense, Su). But…ditto!

Hi, 4ever,
Thanks for that info-❤️—–THE BIRDS!! Of course!! No wonder she looks so familiar. I simply couldn’t place her—I have seen every Hitchcock movie.

Hello, Celia!

I’m happy I came back to this thread to see your response. I don’t get notices like I should. I hope you’re doing well, cc. I miss the old version of Michael’s site. This one is harder (and slower) for me to navigate, but I’ll check in every once in a while.

BTW, I have almost every Hitchcock movie on DVD, and on ‘The Birds’ DVD special features, Veronica is interviewed and shows a signed drawing from Hitch to her for her 13th birthday with the words “To Veronica, the woman I love.”

I’m happy that didn’t turn into part of the “Me Too” movement…Take care, cc.

Awwww, 4ever—-so glad to ‘see’ you here—it’s been a while!! Yes, MF’s ‘new version’ seems to be somewhat more impersonal, but it’s nice to still be in touch , albeit not as frequently.
As yourself, my grandparents have an endless stash of every film ever made—-they were cinephiliacs, equipped with gigantic TV screen and seats—their basement looks like a movie theater; including TV shows—drama, comedy, cartoons, sit-coms—-everything and anything under the sun!! And, Hitchcock is at the top of the list!!
I hope you have been well yourself—-
I know Days is your fave,…..I do hope it picks up some steam as it seems to be stagnating—-same rut day-in and day-out. Pardon the pun, LOL.
Your opinion and comments are always succint and to the point—more importantly; always entertaining!!
Soon, my friend. ❤️

Brody ( I remember him from OLTL) has a gorgeous face, SusieQ—-a bit too short, for my taste. Perfect for Lulu; but, not as a Dante recast. He could be one of the “dates” she has lined up as part of her effort to “catch a thief”?
I don’t know who the lady is, either—-but she’s beautiful–those eyes!!

su..have you been on another planet-lol..dont you know anybody-lol

hi Jimh..
I was never a big watcher of TV.. and most all those people were before I was on earth, I think LOL
And there was no TV in Iraq.
But- y’all will fill me in on who is who.

su..if you never know who someone is..just Google and read about them…sometimes i dont know who someone is so i check them out=and a few times i still dont know who they were-lol

Jim, what is Google? I have never heard of it. It must be before my time.

Harry ! No worries, I’m here for you 🙂

Google got its start in 1996 — but it wasn’t called that at first.

The company originated with an idea formulated by Sergey Brin, left, and Larry Page, who were both Stanford PhD students at the time. They came up with BackRub, a revolutionary search engine that would rank web pages based on how many other web pages linked back to them, a process they called PageRank.

The BackRub name didn’t last long. They quickly decided that a “googol” — the number one with a hundred zeroes after it — better reflected the amount of data they were trying to sift through. Playing on that word, Page and Brin, whose Stanford dorm rooms comprised their first offices, chose the slightly friendlier name Google for their nascent search engine and company.
(is now worth $743 billion.)
1996!
You were there, Harry!

may this; PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE see a NEW LEASE and/or simply a refluffing of this mega-watt femme fetale … after all that Kevin/Ryan edge… what else can she want?

Ava will adorn the cover of Crimson… is now embroiled AND sizzling with Veronica Cartright… this dame struck gold : “The Birds” w/Suzanne Pleshette and Tippi Hedren ; AND ran the gamut w/ “The witches of EAstwick” Cher, Michelle Pfieffer, Susan Sarandon. Veronica Cartwright is truly that character actor who holds her own. “love her”

no one, will ever forget mother Ava w/Kiki. EVER. this was a magical mother/daughter

it’s really long in the tooth.. just how achingly old , painful to watch… just how much Sonny mistreats Ava… over Avery. pitiful that Sonny and Carly are this unjust , hanging on to STAR . @GH writers… seem to be MOVING Ava … ABOUT TIME

so… whatever happens with Ava and Avery. so be it… as long as it’s as little as possible interaction with Sonny – OR – Carly. BORE BORE and more of much ado about

Ava will move on
Ava has a new lease on life with… ? Scotty, KEVIN,
Ava has more interaction with her brother Julian @Charlie’

whatever course of ACTION THAT MUST be… she’s Maura West

“Carson” is almost as boring as “Jasam.” & The Hair-Flippin’, Stomping, “Ya Know” Laura Wright is almost as unbearable as her Creepy Boy Toy. She adds “ya know” at the end of every sentence.
Now Maura, I love Maura!

hi DMRR..
before the writers went ape crazy with Ava, I wanted Sonny and Ava coupled..
The merging of a Jerome and Corinthos would have been blasting! And- never boring.
Sonny and Ava a true dramatic soap couple, for sure.
Sonny and Carly are a total zero ..

That would have been dynamite, I must admit, su000.

I love Maura West. Ava is a great character, has chemistry with everyone.

“Peter and Maxie are the most exciting, riveting, romantic soap couple ever!” said no one ever. The same is true of Jason and Sam. They keep saying, “OH it’s so wonderful to be together again and not keep it a secret.” I was never cognizant that Sam and Jason were apart. It’s like they are trying to breathe in conflict into JASAM in order to make them exciting–they’re even hitching a ride on the Shiloh Train with the hope that it might make this positively somnolent coupling wake up. It’s not working!

Poor Kirsten Storms is being saddled by “The Boyfriend.” He is so creepy and smarmy. Laura Wright’s attempting at propping him up have failed BIG time. Jason & Sam are so boring. The Dawn of the Dead storyline is a dud. I did laugh at the Alexis & Diane scenes, and I like Neil. Julian is being saddled by Kim “Zero.” It’s so disappointing, what this show has become.

I like Wes (Peter). A lot. Great looking and I love his demeanor. I think, unfortunately, that Kristen Storm as Maxi has lost her edge. I don’t know if it’s Kristen or if it’s the current lack of writing for Maxi but there’s nothing left of the bubbly, fun character Maxi used to be. I get that she’s older now and has suffered loss…but she just hasn’t had much of anything to do/sayand when she does it’s just flat. And it seems that the writers are determined to make Maxi/Peter as asexual as a couple can be. If they’re not going to give them romance (which I was all for at the beginning but it’s just a big flop) they need to have them pair up with others.

They are boring; although, I can’t think of any couple that has chemistry…?

Hi DMRR; I think Chase and Willow have fantastic chemistry; also like Kevin and Laura. And I LOVE the new shrink, Neal, and think he and Alexis would be great together.

Oh, I like the new shrink, too! WOW!

Yes! There’s just something about him…his dry wit, sarcasm and intelligence. Patience. Demeanor…great character! He’s the normal in the midst of crazy. 😉

Whiny Heiny is a ridiculous character and the writing for him is even more ridiculous. Example, last week there was a scene where he & Maxie were discussing a potential “unauthoirized” visit to the WSB facility where Dante is supposedly going through deprogramming or therapy or whatever it is. (Hopefully the one thing he is NOT going through is a recast, but that’s a whole other thread)

Heiny thinks this would be a bad idea, because Maxie’s dad is the head of the WSB and certainly her face would be in their database. Which is true, of course. But an even bigger problem would be that HIS daddy was #1 on the WSB’s “Most Wanted Terrorist List” for decades, and they didn’t seem to find that worth mentioning at all. Not to mention Heiny’s own numerous crimes, which he hasn’t paid for yet. One has to wonder how Jason might react when it becomes public knowledge that “Peter” isn’t Anna Devane’s son after all. It’s not like Jason owes Alex any favors, right?

Satan: Peter did mention his fear regarding how the WSB would view him once they actually got to the WSB headquarters; (albeit after the fact) but, I, as viewer, don’t hold Peter responsible for any of his crimes. He was emotionally abused his entire life. If the real criminals in Port Charles live a cushy little life with a cushy new kitchen, I don’t think an abused boy who grew to be an abused man should feel guilty for anything. As for being Anna’s son? I’m holding out hope he is; and that Scorpio is his father. Robin and Peter, twins…separated, unbeknownst to Anna..at birth.

@DMRR…..There is simply too much deadweight hanging around Port Charles….Kim, Peter, NuNina, Hayden (Again…really?????) and numerous other meaningless characters are dragging down the entire show…Paired with both the appalling cult and various equally lackluster storylines, GH has hit a real low. With such a great core of talented vets like Anna, Robert, Laura, Kevin, and yes, the more recent, yet incomparable, Dr. O, it’s time to return Port Charles to its former greatness and quit messing with what made it a success in the first place: mystery, adventure and a healthy dose of romance!

Perhaps Veronica is filling in for Ilene Kristen as Ava’s mom.

I had that thought, too. It would be a great disappointment, if so, and I would accept it only if for some reason Ilene just can’t do it (schedule conflicts, health reasons, etc.).

Another actress/character that we don’t need. They are incapable and inept at writing for the onslaught of characters already on the canvas. Yet, Mr. Laura Wright continues to have “storylines” (boring, as they may be), love interests (zero chemistry), and a ticket to the GH Convention and meet & greets (brought to you by his mama bear girlfriend). SAD.

It’s 5 episodes. Calm down.

is there any way that she might be Ava’s mother?

Delia Ryan is Ava’s mother.

Ryan & Kevin’s mother?

^^^^ your idea ; could be HUGE

read on the ABC soap mag. an unexpected turn you never saw coming… and the cover had a pic of Jon Lindstrom’ Kevin

who knows ? i’m just so jazzed that this keeps a vet… who’s sterling ACT is triggering and cementing his LEAD ACTOR qualified

no?

he ups the ante on so… – many – levels for ALL fans

just Wow!

Nope. Just checked. Mrs. Chamberlain is still in Hell where she belongs.

A recast for Delia, Ava’s mom?

hope not

Ava’s mom maybe

Oh please, please do not let her be Ryan and Kevin’s child abusing mother. I don’t know if I could bear watching something of that nature.

Just 5 episodes??

She be Kevin/Ryans cray cray mom who thinks Ava has been taken over by body snatches who invade PC and turned her into an Alien-lol

Brody Lovett, I think was his name on OLTL.But, I may remember it wrong.
