‘All My Children’ Movie Writers for Lifetime Revealed: Ron Carlivati, Jamey Giddens and Leo Richardson

This week began and as reported with a spotlight article on Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos and how their production entity, Milojo, has been teeing up the All My Children reboot with Lifetime.
The L.A. Times featured the married couple, co-hosts of Live with Kelly and Mark, and former All My Children cast members (where they met and fell in love) about their plans to bring two All My Children movies to Lifetime and how they are working with the Agnes Nixon estate to make it come to fruition,
On Wednesday, it was revealed by Daytime Confidential, that All My Children reboot producer, Andrew Stearn handpicked none other than Ron Carlivati (ex-head writer, One Life to Live, General Hospital and Days of our Lives) and Jamey Giddens (who is the new co-head writer of The Young and the Restless, following his tenures on the writing teams of Beyond the Gates and Days of Our Lives), as the two scribes who will bring the first of two of Kelly and Mark’s All My Children movies to the page.

RON CARLIVATI AND JAMEY GIDDENS CONFIRM THEIR BOARDING THE ALL MY CHILDREN MOVIE PROJECT
The second installment is said to be written by primetime writer Leo Richardson whose credits include: Star, Katy Keene and more recently the Penn Badgley (ex-Phillip Chancellor IV, The Young and the Restless) starring series, You.
Richardson also wrote for three years on the U.K.’s long-running soap, EastEnders. All My Children revival fans will recall Richardson’s name was attached as the writer for the first incarnation of the All My Children movies, entitled, Pine Valley.
Ron Carlivati took to X and confirmed he is indeed boarding the All My Children movie project. Carlivati shared, “So excited to share this news! Thanks to Andrew Stearn, Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, Albert Bianchini and the Agnes Nixon estate for entrusting Jamey Giddens and me with the first of two planned All My Children movies for Lifetime! Stay tuned!”

Jamey Giddens confirmed DC’s announcement by taking to his account on X and expressing, “I’ve been booked and busy in 2026. Thanks to Andrew Stearn, the Agnes Nixon estate, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos for entrusting Ron Carlivati, and me with the first of two planned All My Children movies for Lifetime!”
Some fans seemed to question how Giddens could be writing for the first All My Children movie at Lifetime, when he is the new co-head writer at The Young and the Restless with Dan O’Connor. Jamey answered that head on via X and explained, “We turned in our All My Children script months ago. My sole focus as of this past Monday, is Genoa City, Wisconsin! #YR”
ERICA KANE, MARIA SANTOS AND HAYLEY AND MATEO SANTOS TO APPEAR IN THE ALL MY CHILDREN MOVIE REVIVAL?
In the planned stories, Susan Lucci’s Erica Kane and Eva LaRue’s Maria Santos will be two characters whose lives we will get to see for the first time since the series was canceled by ABC back in 2011 after 41 years on the air. As well, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos confirmed they will make brief appearances on-screen; one could assume as Hayley and Mateo Santos.
“It’d be wonderful to give the fans something that they’ve been yearning for so many years,” shared Mark Consuelos to the LA Times. “All My Children gave me my family. I met my wife there. It gave me my start in the business. It gave us so much. It would be a dream to be able to give back.”
So, what do you think of Ron Carlivati and Jamey Giddens getting nod to write the All My Children movie #1 script and Leo Richardson #2? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

‘All My Children’ Revival Updates: Lifetime EVP Speaks on Why Proposed Movies are Great Fit, Mark Consuelos Wants To ‘Give Back’ to Fans

The All My Children revival via movies at Lifetime is still in the works from former series stars and marrieds, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, through their production company, Milojo.
The co-hosts of Live with Kelly and Mark were featured this week in a Los Angeles Times article which detailed their efforts to bring some of the citizens of Pine Valley back to your screens.
As previously reported, and reaffirmed by the L.A. Times, the All My Children movies will be set in the present day and focus on what beloved characters such as Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) and Maria Santos Gray (Eva LaRue) are doing now. In addition, Kelly Ripa confirmed that she and Mark Consuelos will also appear on screen briefly most likely appearing in their signature soap roles as Hayley and Mateo Santos.

ALL MY CHILDREN MOVIES BRING NOSTALGIA THAT CAN BE MADE TO FEEL NEW AGAIN
Elaine Frontain Bryant, executive vice president and head of programming for A&E, Lifetime, and Lifetime Movie Network said of the All My Children reboot, “Lifetime is always interested in shows that kind of tap into a powerful nostalgia that can be made fresh for today’s audience. There’s a whole generation of women that have missed these stories and these characters.”
As for working with Kelly and Mark on the Lifetime movie versions of the soap, “They’re exactly the kind of partners you want at a brand,” expressed Bryant. “They’re trusted voices because every day they’re talking to their audience, which, a lot of times, is our audience. They bring a real credibility and have an authentic point of view. You meet Kelly and Mark and kind of what you see is what you get, and I think they bring that same authenticity to their development standards.”
Albert Bianchini, executive producer for Milojo, says he knows All My Children is so wildly popular with the fans of daytime. That was punctuated when seeing it in person, and how the energy was off the charts back in January of 2025 when Kelly participated along with Susan Lucci, former head writer, Lorraine Broderick and casting director, Judy Blye Wilson in a conversation with Andy Cohen at the 92nd Street Y in New York City.

“I’ve never seen a crowd like that in my life. People were lined up around the block, recalled the Bianchini. “Everyone wanted to know, ‘When is (All My Children) coming back? We want more.’ We got to see that in real life and Kelly got to feel it in real life, and it made so much sense. I just know that the minute it gets out in the world, people will want more and more and more. There’s just a love there.”
Kelly Ripa added that they are, “working closely with Bob and Sarah Nixon, who are also serving as producers.” She recalled, “She (Agnes Nixon) was so far ahead of her time. She covered topics that weren’t being covered. It was extraordinary the audiences that the show drew, and she served them real stories that were affecting Americans across the country but weren’t necessarily being represented anywhere.”
“It’d be wonderful to give the fans something that they’ve been yearning for so many years,” shared Mark Consuelos. “All My Children gave me my family. I met my wife there. It gave me my start in the business. It gave us so much. It would be a dream to be able to give back.”
THE CANCELLATION AND STOPS AND STARTS OF ALL MY CHILDREN REBOOTS
All My Children aired on ABC from 1970 to 2011. It got a second chance at life when Prospect Park resurrected the show and brought it to The OnLine Network and Hulu for one season in 2013.
Recently, the series made a return through the estate of Agnes Nixon and is streaming internationally on BEONDTV and through their partnership with PlutoTV Canada with episodes starting in 1995. Fans hope original episodes will some day soon be available in the U.S. as well, but that could prove more difficult since ABC owns the rights to the episodes stateside.
Now 13 years later, while there is no word yet on a definitive production start date to the two movies at Lifetime, all the people involved seemed determined to make it come to life.
So, what do you think of the executive vice-president of Lifetime and LMN being enthusiastic about Kelly and Mark’s All My Children movie revivals? Are you wanting to see this come to fruition? Kelly and Mark seem to have made this a very high priority. Do you hope that by 2027 we might be able to get this to the finish the line and into production? Weigh-in via the comment section.

‘All My Children’ Episodes to Stream on Pluto TV Canada
Starting on May 1, All My Children fans in Canada will be able to see classic episodes of the beloved former ABC soap opera when they stream on Pluto TV Canada.
Pluto TV picked-up the All My Children Channel that the Nixon family has created in partnership with BEONDTV +. The show which aired for 41 years on ABC and ended on the network in 2011, had so many memorable storylines and characters; the least of which is the enduring run of Erica Kane played by soap icon, Susan Lucci.
As previously reported, starting with episodes from the year 1995, which was the 25th anniversary of the soap. Pluto TV Canada viewers will be able to catch 8 episodes on repeat per day. With the success of the venture, the Nixons are hopeful that they will bring viewers many more years of the show to come.

Sarah Nixon, producer, shared with Michael Fairman TV exclusively, “We are thrilled that Pluto TV has launched All My Children in Canada! Let’s hope the engagement from our incredibly loyal fans across the border will encourage ABC to bring it to the U.S.! We share what Aggie (Agnes Nixon) always felt, that it is the enthusiasm and love from the fans that has kept this legacy beloved and relevant – to this day!”
In addition, 0ne week ago, during Susan Lucci’s visit to Los Angeles promoting her book La Lucci, she was joined by her former Pine Valley castmates, Rebecca Budig (ex-Greenlee, AMC, now Taylor, B&B) and Eva LaRue (ex-Maria, AMC) and the trio posed for a pic. At that time, LaRue shared via Instagram, “NEW All My Children channel streaming classic episodes 24/7 now on Pluto TV Canada! Fingers crossed to watch soon on Pluto US.”
That was also confirmed this week by TV Watercooler’s Jeevan Brar who took to X and expressed, “The All My Children channel begins streaming this Friday, May 1 on Pluto TV Canada.
So, Canadian viewers, excited about Pluto TV’s All My Children channel? United States fans, hopeful from Sarah’s message that perhaps soon, we can see the beloved soap once again as well? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Crystal Chappell will always be ‘LEAD ACTRESS’ in my eyes…pick a show, any show…pick a scene, any scene!
…..and the Daytime Emmy goes to: CRYSTAL CHAPPELL!
☮♡☺xo♥♀♀✩ツ♫
Crystal Chappell should have been nominated she does not just play a scene she owns the scene.
Her performance was exemplary!!!!
I THINK DANIEL GODDARD AND CHRISTEL KHALIL SHOULD HAVE BEEN PRE-NOM FOR THEIR ACTING ON Y&R
I am stunned that DZ was not nominated !!!! how can this happen !!!
I cannot believe it either he did some outstanding scenes
Sharon Case has had the worst story. She has had to portray a character who is clearly nuts but appears normal. She was jipped
I mentioned earlier the HORROR that was the omission of Melody Thomas Scott, but I failed to recognize another complete MIND-BOGGLING omission: Stacy Haiduk on the Young and the Restless. Ms. Haiduk was absolutely RIVETING to watch as she seamlessly went from portraying the cool and collected Dr. Emily Peterson to the fury of a completely out-of-touch-with-reality Patty Williams. Melody and Stacy were definite VIP’s in my book and MVP’s in Genoa City in 2010. They have both won my personal award for best actress in a lead role!! Congratulations to you both on a fantastic job!! U are amazing!!
I think she hurt herself by submitting as Lead rather than Supporting. I think she would have definitely been Pre-Nommed in Supporting, and most likely made the final ballot, as well.
I am BEYOND pissed off that Dominic Zamprogna was not nominated. he is INCREDIBLE, SENSATIONAL and AUTHENTIC. what the hell is going on here?! The Emmy noms are a joke. DZ absolutely deserved to be nominated. this is heart breaking. I am crushed. But I see that the noms are all about politics and not TRUE talent…which is total BS. Dominic Zamprogna is KING!
He does not need the emmy he has us his loyal fans
Kimberly McCullough was the shocker for me. Being not nominated after the confession scenes in Aug. as well as the weeks after. Today’s scenes just proved the point.
But Congrats have to go out to JT for his nomination because he has been just as good this whole time as well
I agree this was one of kimberly best years of acting
KMc made me feel an entire range of authentic emotion this year, so she gets my vote. Is there ANYwhere where we can see their submission reels? Since nominations all depend on what they’ve chosen for their reel, it kind of sucks we can’t see them.
I feel Crystal Chappell’s return to DOOL breathed some life back into the show.Even though lately her storyline has stalled, she always made the most of what she was given. Also, I feel her presense has made other actors on the show bring their best, such as Molly Burnett and Nadia Bjorlin. I loved the chemistry between CC and Louise Sorel also.Thank you.
Really? She and her story are BORING
Her story being BORING is all on the writers at DOOL, but that says nothing about her skills as an actress. No matter what crap the story is, she graciously makes the best of it and puts on a great performance. Definitely the biggest snub on the list.
CC is at the top of her game. She definitely brings out the best in those that are in scenes with her. Days failure is to give her a storyline that highlights her talent. What do you expect when all they write are about clones, kidnapping, organ stealing and people attacking under the influence of sleeping pills….very realistic?! I agree she make the best out of the crap she is given. Hoping the new storyline is realistic and of some quality!
I thought the category was ” Best Actress”. What was Kelly Monaco nominated for? Her outstanding impression of an woman trying to wave a plane in for a landing? The woman does nothing but flail her arms, flip her hair and look for her lines posted on the ceiling. Worst actress on daytime.
OMG Craig, I was thinking the same thing,,,,,Amazing, can you say agenda, someone should tell whoever put her up “Best Actress” that the Emmy’s are a little bit bigger than DWTS……LOL
I have to agree. Though there may have been years with more substance to make a nod believable, I wouldn’t say 2010 stretched her chops at all. Maybe it’s because they the show has only 2 lead females that she got the nomination? Either way, I can’t say I’ve ever been impressed with KM’s performances except when she was a ‘bad’ girl. Rather liked her then and she kept her arms at her sides mostly.
lmao! so very true!
I was shocked to find that Crystal Chappell didn’t move on to pre noms. Her work is phenomenal. Crystal reigns any actress on DOOL in my opinion. So disappointed!
DZ…hands down!!! It’s crazy!!
Eric Braden and Melody Thomas Scott for Y&R. Them not making the cut was a surprise to me since they were so front and center in storylines. And Kimberly McCullough for General Hospital. I just started watching General Hospital because I caught some “Scrubs” scenes and was hooked.
Agree about Eric Braden and Melody Thomas Scott!!!!!!
I think Eric Braden and Melody Thomas Scott should have been in pre-noms; however, MM as Adam, no way. He has been the downfall of Sharon Case and Y & R. This hated character needs to leave GC. Many have stopped watching because of this character.
I am torn on MM. As a character I am no fan of Adam, because this Adam and Sharon pairing makes me sick. But MM as an actor is another story. As an actor he plays the villian well and was a key player in the year’s biggest storylines (such as they were).
But out of everyone I still go with Eric Braden and Melody Thomas Scott. Both of them have given flawless performances and deserved to be recognized.
To me MM as an actor is nothing special. The villain he portrayed is beyond redemption and, in my. Opinion, has caused the show great harm. I don’t think MM’s portrayal was any better than the original actorEXCEPT, when MM took over, the blindness seems to come and go. Nothing against the actor, I just think he has been forced on the viewers, so he has been on a lot BUT his performance was nothing special.
I think Eric Martsolf should have been nominated, he’s a great actor and always gives 100% to whatever s/l he is given. He has totally made Brady Black his own 🙂
It is an absolute travesty that Dominic Zamprogna did not receive a pre-nomination for an Emmy. His performances all year were intense, emotional, riveting, dramatic; they were subtle, nuanced, quiet; they were funny; they were romantic; they were strong — in other words, he ACTED every day in every show — he gave 110% every time he was on screen. He has incredible chemstry with his love interest, but also with his other co-stars. I think the man could have chemistry with a tree he is so good. How he wasn’t nominated for just the Sonny shooting his son episode alone is beyond belief…but he performed that well in every other episode he appeared in. He draws you to GH like a magnet…he is magnificent and I hope he knows this was a political screw over…it is certainly not because he isn’t talented.
AMEN!
He is very talented he knows how to act with every emotion and he is very sexy
I can’t understand why he didn’t get nominated… ridiculous.
Witout a doubt MS,REBECCA HERBST That QUEEN of soaps!
???? HAHA
KMc has been great in this so called FA storyline–Her and JT are GH to me–they have amazing chemistry and they both deserve nods!!
I must agree, for the Best Actress Female prenoms, hands down it should have been Laura Wright and Kimberly McCullough.
Kim and Jason Thompson consistently gave stellar performances during the entire Fatal Attraction storyline. The clincher being when Patrick finally told Robin that he slept with Lisa. Those scenes alone should be what moves both actors to the final five of Best Actor and also on the reel for Best Writing.
I don’t understand exactly how the Emmy process works but it sure seems messed up when an actress who never had a storyline that gave her a lead role throughout the year can be nominated into the Lead category and the actress who carried a fabulous story AS THE LEAD CHARACTER OF THE STORY gets passed over.
Maybe it’s stuff like this that has added to the downfall of daytime. It sure couldn’t possibly help.
DZ should have received a nod. Absolutely floored that he wasn’t recognized. Just goes to show that this is more of a popularity award, than one based on actual performance. Not trying to take away from the other actors pre-nominated in DZ’s category, but he DESERVED this pre-nomination based on last year’s phenomenal performance.
I TOTALLY AGREE!
Dom does deserve the nomination he shined in all his performances.. I agree with Suzy Q and Martine….
Kimberly McCullough was the one who broke my heart. She FINALLY had the material and made it work. I felt Robin’s pain as if I was cheated on.
She was just amazing during the reveal and after. Even today she had me crying for Robin.
She had the material and worked it beyond what it could be. I felt for Robin. Even non Scrub fans were complimenting her work and thought she had it sewn up and then nothing.
This is just insulting as a viewer.
The whole process. How can you pre nom when you never saw the work? Sounds like it is more politics or popularity of who GH wants to wim. Which still has me baffled as to why ABC and GH wouldn’t want to submit Kimberly’s work with her getting the best chance of any other women on GH who is submitted,
Kimberly McCullough had such wonderfully raw emotional scenes this year. I’m really disappointed that she’s not going to be recognized for her work.
Deeply shocked about Kimberly McCullough’s snub by the academy. The Daytime Emmy’s are a joke to me now and truly showed they have no concept of talent. No offense to Julie Marie Berman, but what did she do to top KMC’s performance? Nothing, she just happens to be a favorite.
I am very disappointed Susan Lucci was not nominated this year. She has a very difficult role; many people think it is her because she is Erica Kane but those in the know will recognize Lucci is not Erica Kane. Very different people which goes to her credibility as an actress. The writers could help Lucci but she has done some amazing work this past year with her daughters on the show and even her dealing with her mother who she misses. She is a very under rated actress.
I agree, I think Susan Lucci did some truly moving work this year: Palmer’s death, her reunion with her friend/enemy Brooke, saying goodbye to Adam, missing her mother Mona, the campy “Dorothy” scenes, and her struggles to keep her daughters safe and happy.
Sadly, the soap opera genre tends to skew itself to the younger market. I’m in my thirties and admit Lucci looks great for any age. But they seem to give her more of a supporting role to her daughters often when she still has the “it” qualities. Lucci in my opinion is at a disadvantage – to the world she is Erica Kane and Erica Kane is over the top, out of this world with a bit of camp. Still if you look at Lucci’s performance they remain true to the character – multi faceted as we see but she is one in a billion she IS Erica Kane. A lot of people whether it be jealousy or what don’t get it. It’s such a strong or well known role that people can’t see past Susan Lucci the character versus the actor. And when people see Lucci in other projects even Dancing with the Stars they want Erica Kane. That shouldn’t be seen though that she is a “worse” actress because the campiness and such is Erica Kane the character. Really she must be a great actress considering the actress appears to be quite the opposite of the character.
I was surprised Kimberly McCullough did not get a pre-nom. She’s done some excellent work the past year. She really deserved one!
Dominic Zamprogna, is a phenomenal actor and gives all of himself in his character of Dante. In every scene he shines. Such a disappointment that he was not selected.
SO TRUE!
AMEN!!!!:)
LOL, Becky Herbst the “queen of the soaps” didnt even make the pre pre nom list.
For me I thought the biggest error was not including FL instead of GT. Second would be Kim in place of JMB. In the end, I hope the award for supporting goes to MCE, so theres part of me thats glad Kim didnt get selected as she would have been MCE’s biggest competition. Now she just has to get past NLG.
Uhmm sorry but I have that god given right to my opinion !I FEEL BECKY should of gotten a PRE NOM!
An actor is NOT eligible for a pre-nom if they didnt first make the list of individuals under consideration. I jokingly called that the pre pre nom list because thats really what it is. If becky wasnt on that list, then she wasnt going to make this list either, no matter HOW anyone FEELS about it. You can FEEL she should have made THAT list, but once she didnt, she no longer became eligible. Conversely both Kim and Florencia actually made that list of eligible actors but did not make the cut for an actual pre-nom. Dont blame me, I didnt create the system but thats how it seems to work. And I would think if she were actually the Queen of soaps she would have made both lists – just sayin.
UMMMM again my God given right to have an opinion that RH should have made the list. YOU can share all about how it works AND try to say that means RH didn’t deserve the nod but it won’t change I’M ENTITLED to my opinion
Hey Toy1975:
Thanks so much for your comments and your passion on the performances last year of Rebecca Herbst. Unfortunately, Rebecca also did not make it on the pre-pre nomination list. And, as I explained in the opening of the Snub Poll Post, The votes should be for those who made the first cut and then did not get to the Pre-Nom round. So just an FYI- Rebecca was not in the running from the beginning. Was not sure you were clear about that and how this poll is structured.
Hope that makese sense,
Best,
Michael
I cannot believe that Kimberly McCullough was snubbed. The confession scenes between her and JT were phenomenal, and I think they both deserved to be up for it (Congrats to JT!). I think it’s pretty clear that JMB is up there again simply because she’s on all the time, rather than her actual acting ability. Don’t get me wrong, she’s good – but her scenes were not nearly as powerful as Kimberly’s this year.
KImberly is the biggest surprise. With everyone talking about her and the FA story and then she is snubbed is ridiculous.
It wasn’t just the reveal scenes with Kimberly it was even after that. Heck even now during Sonny and Brenda’s wedding. I am speechless.
Sorry but JMB didn’t have anything. I agree about her being on all the time and more noticable. Too bad it isn’t on talent first and then best talent.
So many top stars ignored tell me the process is OFF!
DZ! So upset how can they not acknowledge this man’s performances. He is an amazing, talented ,passionate actor with so much talent.. Shame on the people who did.nt vote for Dom. This is a true injustice to a gifted, hard, dedicated worker who deserves recognition for his work………
BEAUTIFULLY SAID!
I cannot believe that Dominic Zamprogna was not nominated!! He has been outstanding ever since he first joined GH, and his work this past year, the reveal as Sonny’s son, his scenes with his mom following the reveal…they were just mezmerizing and intense and heartbreaking. Dominic is one of the finest actors on TV…and NOT just daytime TV. This goes down in my book as a biggest mistake the Emmys made this year. How can Julie Berman get a nom and not her leading man…freaking unbelievable!!!
*applause* AMEN!
Dominic Z should have submitted himself for Lead Actor NOT Supporting Actor! He is clearly a lead and was on air more than ANY other GH actor for all of 2010!!! He might have stood a better chance if he had tried for the correct category!
ITA! Dominic Zamprogna is absolutely a lead actor. Infact- he is THE lead actor
For me definitely it has to be KMc this was definitely her year and some of the best acting she’s done in years and it absolutely ridiculous that she was not acknowledged, I am sorry JMB did not have as much or as powerful work as KMc had this year and it is utterly disappointing she was not recognized. It is sad that the daytime emmys have become and popularity contest joke ! The only consolation is JT got nominated which is amazing and much deserved for a storyline that was critically acclaimed and which both actors acted their asses off !!
I voted for Kimberly McCullough in the poll. If I had been able to vote for all the actors and actresses I felt were omitted, I would have also chosen Florencia Lozano, David Canary and Susan Lucci.
DZ Im still im shock he deserved it all the way with the material he brought to GH this year,,,,,,,,,
AGREED!
So disappointed Crystal Chappell was not nominated… anyway the emmy’s nominations have been a shame the past years….
No Dominic Zamprogna? Really? He must be the hardest working man in daytime. He gave amazing work every single day. To deliver the quality scenes that he did everyday is above and beyond. His scenes in the shooting with Maurice Bernard would easily solidify him a nomination. I started watching GH again because of Jonathan Jackson and stayed because of JJ and DZ. Those two and Lante and really the reason I have once again invested in the show. This is just plain crazy. This and the insane Y&R nominations are a huge reason that the Emmys need to rethink their process.
Me too. I stopped watching GH years ago and then on day I just happened to catch a scenes with Dominic Zamprogna and I’ve been hooked ever since. He is the reason I came back to GH and Dominic Zamprogna is the ONLY reason I ever watch. he DESERVED an Emmy nom. Heck…he deserved the Emmy WIN!
Florencia Lozano should have gotten a pre-nom! She had one of the most emotional, powerful storylines of the year and she rocked it! Totally disappointed that she was omitted
I agree. She is one of the best actors on the show. Did you see her scenes with her brother Tomas on Fridays show? Wow, she knocked those out of the park too.
I’m gutted Michael Muhney didn’t get a pre-nom. As Van Hansis didn’t submit himself this year, I was ready to root for Michael Muhney. Such a disappointment.
And I’m so broken hearted that Van did not submit himself this year.He could have submitted many reels that were excellent.I no longer have any interest in the Emmys and not much in soaps in general.Bit I will always be a fan of Van!
REBECCA HERBST She did a fantastic job with her break-down.
I am stunned that Kimberly McCullough was not on the list.
There were a few snubs this year that pissed me off.
First of all, Kimberly McCullough. I was actually thinking about it, and while she is a supporting actress on the show, she probably would have been pre-nominated if she submitted as a lead. I have been trying to think about what Nancy Lee Grahn did last year and certain scenes did come to mind; Julie Marie Berman was harder to remember. I kind of had a feeling that JMB was a shoe-in because of her “Younger Actress” win last year. I would have loved to see a tie between the three, though. And then all three nominated, because frankly they are all talented enough. Frankly I think the nominations for that category should have been: Julie Marie Berman, Tricia Cast, Melissa Claire Egan, Nancy Lee Grahn and Kimberly McCullough.
Dominic Zompronga is, to me, only a slightly glaring omission. Yes, he was good; however, he was no better than Jonathan Jackson or Jason Thompson. And given the amount of airtime, I was actually surprised that Dominic did not submit in the lead actor category.
Florencia Lozano is a huge omission to me. She carried and lead great story all year. To me, Kassie DePiva was supporting Florencia’s story and Gina Tognoni – wait? What? Kelly Cramer did something besides chem test last year? Why don’t I remember this?
The Erika Slezak, Nic Robuck, Crystal Chappell, Suzanne Rogers, and David Canary omissions did not upset me all that much. I mean, yeah, some of them should have gotten a pre-nom, but I understand why they didn’t. (And if I can be frank for a second: against Eddie Alderson and David Gregory, did anyone really think Nic Robuck was going to get a pre-nom?)
The Y&R Quad is disgusting. It makes me sick that those four deserving actors are not getting the recognition they deserve. Stacy Haiduk, Melody Thomas Scott, Eric Braeden, and Michael Muhney – three of you are so awesome, and I would have loved to see you be nominated. The fourth, not so much. Even if you did deserve it as well.
. . . while I am sad about a few omissions, I am still looking forward to the ongoing process. It is all very exciting.
And just some food for thought. Does anyone think they should up the number of pre-noms next year (to, like, three or four per show) since their will be only six soaps eligible? 🙁
I do.
I agree about Nic Robuck. I’m sorry but he is a horrible actor. I agree about Florencia she should have gottien a nod. Brandon Buddy should have gotten one too. He was robbed two years in a row!!!
Absolutely the one who got snubbed the most is Dominic Zamprogna. How can he not be a pre-nom when he gives 1,000% every day and has one amazing, stunning and captivating performance after another. There is no other actor on TV (daytime, night, etc) that puts that much emotion into every scene, he is so real. No other actor has given me smiles, brought me to tears, and given me so much to look forward every day watching GH. He is the winner in my heart and a winner every day.
I a sooo stunned with this snub. Its aweful : )
Deeply saddened and truly shocked that DZ did not recieve a pre-nom. I really don’t understand that at all. I now have little faith in the emmy’s and believe Nancy Lee Grahn when she called them nothing but politics last year. It’s a shame. I thought the awards were designed to be given to those who deserve it, not to the people who can brown nose the best. And really, NLG is supporting? What universe am I in?
I agree 1000%
Crystal Chappell makes daytime TV worth watchin, that she wasn’t nominated is ridiculous, that it is all.
I agree with you.. I return to watch soaps just for Crystal Chappell
I am Very disapointed that Crystal Chappell didn’t move to pre-noms…She is the best Actress Ever. She’s the best ‘DAYS” has ever had….anyway she dont need it she got us her lovin loyal fans, shes already WON in our eyes.We LOVE HER
Crystal Chappell is #1 in my book hands down and hats off… She takes her role and gives it the bump it needs to be memorable, always brings her A game and still takes the time to spend with her fans…. She has to be one of the most authentically real down to earth people there is. She deserves an emmy and more for her work.
Kimberly truly left me STUNNED in her scenes and I don’t even care for Scrubs! She MADE me care though! Kim makes the most of every scene she gets. Congrats to everyone else but I’m absolutely stunned she wasn’t pre-nommed
Michael Muhney ‘s performances as Adam really brought me back to watching Y&R. He has been front and center the wholee time I have been watching. I dont understand how he could not be included in the noms.
Ditto!!!!
Sharon Case!! She gets snubbed all the time. Her work with Cassie’s death was amazing and overlooked. Then her stuff in 2006 when Nick cheated on her was overlooked too. She deserves recognition, but the “academy” has their favourites.
I agree….! Sharon Case is often overlooked. Yeah, many people can’t relate to her storyline… or are pissed off about it, but she’s always wonderful in her scenes. I LOVED her in the Cassie’s death scenes. Her heartbreak was absolutely palpable.
Absolutely Dominic Zamprogna was the most deserving of the pre-nom. He gives us captivating, amazing, and stunning acting every single day and he is so real. He gives us 1, 000% every single day and rocks every scene.
I am so very shocked Dominic Zamprogna was left out! He is an incredible actor and proved so in all of his scenes… Just go back and watch the shooting scene among many… I’m very disappointed he isn’t recognized. Congrats to JMB and the rest of the cast of GH.
It really is ridiculous he was not nominated
KMC so deserved a pre-nom this year. She is an incredible actress and she certainly had the material with the FA storyline. Congrats to her TV husband, Jason for his pre-nom.
You really should be asking who got in and why? With the list from General Hospital, all I see is agenda. It’s not only sick but, a joke. What could or has Kelly Monaco even done to be in anything. She has not even had a story since 2005 let alone was backburned most of 2010. Is there now a catagory for fetching drinks, or being filler, or better yet a catagory for the worse actress in daytime who can not act or even pronunciate? Because if there is… She has this viewers vote. Brian Frons at work. It’s DTWTS all over again. What a joke this show has become. With all the talented crew and they give us the garbage!
Ahhh the Liz fans are still jealous over Kelly’s DWTS win LOL. Kelly is a lead and she had story handling Kristina’s abuse – trying to protect her, coping with her unresolved issues with Alexis and sorting through the feelings that were stirred up remembering her own domestic assault experiences. She also had story with jason dealing with michael, again reliving some of her experiences with violence, and coping with jason leaving her – showing her growth over the last few years that she was able to deal with his absence without falling apart. Moreover, she made the pre prenom list, which seems to indicate her costars found her worthy.
Ahhh a fan of the flappy armed Sam who has delusions of grandeur for their favorite hooking mob thuget. How sad the pathetic win at DWTS over what 6 years ago. LOL. I guess the little wins are all you have. I love how you fantasized and embellished the lackluster storylines handed to Sam in the last year. What was it you said she “helped Kristina heal from her abuse”. You mean she ran off and kicked and beat on a man who was innocent, and demanded Jason kill him. That what two days worth of airtime KeMo got with more arm flapping than the entire cast of Black Swan did on stage. What else was it you said she “dealt with her own feelings of domestic assault”, ah yes when she robbed her husband blind of all his assets and he caught her. When she killed him and claimed abuse to cover the crime. What that was a five minute conversation. Her helping Jason deal with Michael meant getting him a booty call at prison. Sam fans sure like to pretend she is more than a thug who is a convenient booty call. GH has a history and a reputation of insisting on who gets votes on their cast. A lead CARRIES a storyline she doesn’t SUPPORT one. At best KEMO flaps her way into a supporting role BUT lead NOT ON her best day FLAPPING can she fly into that. TIIC at GH continue to show what MORONS they are and the ratings are backing that up.
*STANDING OVATION*
I’m not jealous and I’m a Liz fan please don’t drag Elizabeth Webber’s entire fanbase into this ongoing silliness attacking opinions seems to be some’s life’s work…
GH is a 4th rated soap tanking losing viewers what the hell is there to be jealous about?
There is no “agenda” – because the soaps themselves no longer control the Pre-Nom voting process. Anybody can submit now, they don’t have to be submitted by the show. The in house voting only counts for a small part of the Pre-Nom process now. They started doing this last year to avoid on-set politics, cries of favoritism, and to refute the old “popularity contest” argument.
All I will say is please note which member of which fan base went to the personal (Kelly not Sam) and which fanbase didnt. Note which member of which fanbase went negative. All I said was that the some members of the Liz fanbase are jealous that DWTS gave Kelly national attention. BOO HOO sometimes thems the breaks.
