Today, TOLN posted the final episode of the season of All My Children. We will not give out a blow by blow description, or major spoilers,  but a general overview, as many of you have not had the opportunity to watch the episode due to your plans for Labor Day!

But suffice to say, during the AMC season finale, the action really centers on four men whose stories intersect at points.  In the finale, David Hayward (Vincent Irizarry) continues his revenge game on the town of Pine Valley and all his enemies. As you will see, he is ever the cagy master manipulator!  Speaking of master manipulator, JR (Ryan Bittle) is going around town trying to make amends to everyone he wronged, only he looks like he just might be up to some dirty tricks of his own in the book to get want he wants from people.  Elsewhere, Dimitri Marrick (Michael Nader) really left his heart on his sleeve with Brooke (Julia Barr).  Can these two work together if they truly have an attraction to one another?  And finally, Jesse (Darnell Williams) is trying to pick up the pieces after losing his job and trying to do right by Angie.  But Jesse always seems to end up in trouble, and the future may be no exception.

Of note for All My Children fans:  look for the final seconds of the finale episode for the cliffhanger!

Watch below what goes down with some of your favorite characters in Pine Valley in the season finale.  Then let us know, what did you think of the finale episode? What did you think about the cliffhanger?

So excited that my favorite guy Tad Martin is coming back! I hope its long term! Hope its not to long til season 2!

I love Tad to, can’t wait to see him & Jesse work together! When does season 2 start? Any date I should log? Didn’t think I would enjoy AMC online but I really do like it, I can enjoy on my time & I don’t need to worry about running out of tape or time on my TV!

Really want Tad to come back! Would also like to see more of the original cast return. Don’t like this J.R. and would like Erica and Kendall back.

I have throughly enjoyed AMC 2.0. I liked the finale but it didn’t really feel like much of a finale. More like a normal episode. I’m hoping next season will start with some answers to a lot of the questions we have this season.

Awesome

I loved the surprise at the end and hope it’s leading to much more of the same!! I think Jesse opening his own detective agency is a great idea, and can’t wait to see what happens as Miranda struggles with her feelings while watching AJ and Heather get closer. Most of all I’m looking forward to season 2 and Kendall’s return. Zach’s clearly not ready to move on, so I’m very anxious to see how that will all unfold. All in all and despite a rocky start, I thought AMC finished quite strong, and with a great set up leading into the next season.

I do hope this means that Tad is coming back. I think Dixie should fall hard for that new doctor first and then have a triangle with Tad. I really hope they don’t continue with this Lea and Zach relationship though. I don’t dislike Lea and they could put her with Griffin and give him more story but please bring Kendall back for Zach. I know Alicia is busy doing other stuff but she could come back and do one episode a week or every other week or something. They made it work for Roger Howarth on OLTL and he only filmed for 3 weeks but his episodes were on almost until the end of the season.

Lea always has that Elvis Presley like sneer on her face–she’s just not a very good actress.

I wont rest easy untill filming begins for season 2. I was very happy with season one keeping my fingers crossed .

I agree I can’ t wait until next season! Does anyone know when that will be? I watched this season on own and I hope that network will pick up the next season. I can’t stand the thought of loosing all my family again!!

I agree….would like to see AMC on OWN!!! I watch this on my mobile hot spot and don’t have enough time on it to watch on my computer. Is it a possibility that it will be back on OWN?

I hope it’s not a recast, and I can’t wait for season two of AMC and OLTL to start, do we know when that will be yet?

that was a cliffhanger, really? only one episode this week….i was looking for the real one!!

Great to see Tad back. That was a great surprise. I like that they did more of a setup for next season–setting up story for several characters rather than a big finale as such. Best of all the lack of any Zach/Lea stuff–leaving a lot of hope for Kendall to return and a potential Zendall story next season . All in all a nice ending to the season .

Can’t wait to see Tad (MEK) back! But what I really want to see is Kendall (Alicia Minshew) back.
Dixie gets Tad back.
Zach needs to get Kendall back!

Hurry back AMC & OLTL.

AMC has been better than OLTL all the way through, but the OLTL season finale was better than the AMC finale.

I agree. I have been a fan of OLTL for many years and it didn’t pick up until the end. I haven’t watched AMC since the late 90’s, but have been impressed with the quality of writing on Hulu. The finale of OLTL was better, the finale of AMC felt more like a normal episode. It’s nice to see them bring back some of their original characters. What would have been a great finale if they brought back Erica Kane. I wonder if Susan Lucci will make an apperance in Season 2. I hope both shows come back soon.

I agree, AMC needs Erica Kane. I haven’t watched teh show because she isn’t on it. I wonder if ther ehave been any references to her; I assume she isn’t dead. Why not say in the last five years she filmed her mvie and has been nominated five years in a row and no Oscar and now she is staring on a soap called Devious Maids and hosting a show abut love gone wrong on Deadly Affairs. Have her come back to town to marry Jackson(even though Walt Willey has moved on maybe he could film one wedding scene) Then have her go off for when she has to film the “real” life shows Devious Maids and Deadly Affairs. Easy peasy! Just get La Lucci and MEK back asap.

I LOVE having AMC back, make no mistake…but, rating this episode as a season finale I was completely underwhelmed. Seems just like a “regular” episode. I will always keep tuning in, though 🙂

I don’t see any kind of attraction coming from Brooke towards Dimitri. There’s no longing looks. She’s been oblivious to his gone from subtle to just plain stalker tactics of trying to make their relationship anything but professional.

She’s always about her fiance Adam She was delighted when she immediately thought the diamond necklace was from him (he ALWAYS bought her stuff like that) and then dumbfounded it was Dim. She looked creeped out when Dim said it was him and then put it on her neck and attempted a kiss. She’s flat out told him she has no interest and that she’s with Adam. Loves Adam.

Yet, Dim watches her with Adam and then in the finale mouthrapes her. Then OOC at the end of the episode Brooke tells him their ‘amazing business partners’ Um, Dim’s your employee – not your partner. He’s officially crossed over into sexual harassment territory now. The Brooke I’ve known for decades would’ve told him he was fired and filed a restraining order. Not shook hands and said they would continue working together.

Julia Barr has played absolutely no hidden attraction to the Dim character so instead of this coming off like some ‘forbidden romance’ to root for it just comes off creepy. Makes both characters look ridiculous. I know Ginger Smith is trying to give Julia story while David Canary is on a limited schedule but this isn’t it. Michael Nader is still a very sexy, attractive man and I’ve always liked the Dimitri character but now he’s reduced to a creepy stalker. This story doesn’t work and I really hope come Season 2 it’s put to an abrupt end and forgotten about. Hopefully, the new HWs have some talent to actually write a story that makes sense for engaged Brooke that doesn’t involved some creepy contrived attraction. There are other things Brooke can do and make Dim more palatable to watch.

Oh and please let them know the characters and history of the show. If the Marlene McPherson and Elizabeth Snyder had maybe this happily and in love Brooke being okay with Dimitri stalking her wouldn’t have happened.

With Agnes Nixon consulting/involved, they do know the history .. 🙂

Cady McClain herself said they had no idea of the history of any of the veteran characters which is why the 1st half of the this Season was the Pelia/Ajanda show.

Agnes was consulting but she did nothing for the Brooke story. It’s totally OOC for Brooke and I stand by what I said.

There’s a reason they were both fired a couple of months back.

It will be great to have Tad back. However, I hope it is for a longer amount of time than Adam, Bianca,Kendall and Griffin. Glad to see trouble brewing with David, JR, and Colby. Starting to be fun to watch again.

It was another solid episode after a very good season.

The highlight of the episode for me was Dimitri pursuing Brooke. I hope they can get Susan Lucci back for a short stint during season 2 to see Erica’s reaction if they ever sleep together!

I liked how we got to see more of the friendship of Cassandra & Colby with David showing up with flowers, which throws more doubt on exactly what he wants from Angie. Also, it was nice to have Colby defend her brother, although I sadly think David’s right that he’s the only person she can currently count on.

Once again, Jesse’s following his pattern of lying to Angie. How much longer will she put up with it? I was thrilled to see Tad at the end and hope that he’ll be able to help Jesse and the Chandler kids while also trying to reunite with Dixie when he turns up in Pine Valley!

I guess you wanted Brooke to sleep with Harold the Stalker back in the day to get Erica’s reaction.

Really? Brooke should cheat on the love of her life it took 24 yrs to finally get back with so you can see Erica’s reaction? Let me guess you’re a Brooke ‘fan’

I love all My children and would like to know when season 2 begins.
Can’t wait for Tad to return. He’s one of the favorites.

I suspect Tad (Michael E Knight) is back only for a brief time or a Cameo tease. I hope I am wrong.
The “season closer” was nothing that enthralling – sorry it just wasn’t. My wish is that they will get some stronger writing and develop better storylines. Brooke and Dimitri as played by Julia Barr and Michael Nadar together, well, they are both very capable actors but even they can’t extract real drama from the scripts presented to them. Better plots are needed and longer scenes are needed as well.

Jesse and Angie and David really make the show now but what I’ve been missing the most is Tad. I hope they let him be as easy as he used to be.He would be the glue that holds the whole thing together. It was very disappointing when Adam was on the show. He said about 3 words.Where was the old Adam flair? He just had to yell “Winifred” one time and it would have been great. Michael Knight, we need you!!

How will we know when the 2nd season starts? Will it be published somewhere? I have watched AMC since the first day it started when I was home with my first baby, through all these years, grown children, various careers and now I am a retired senior citizen—still following the antics of Pine Valley residents.

I heard that the writers are already back writing new scripts for ALL MY CHILDREN. I sincerely doubt that we will have to wait THAT long for the second season to start. If that’s true though they will lose quite a few viewers don’t you think?

It was fine, but my biggest disappointment was that they did not reveal that David had a son and introduce him to David. Those scenes in the recent episode where he took care of the young man were so very touching.

I have been watching All My Children and One life to live for 35 years. So excited that Tad is coming back.. To be honest I am just happy to have my soaps back. I won’t even watch ABC at all anymore because they cancelled them, but I do record General Hospital. =)

Seriously? Season 2 doesn’t start for A YEAR????
Does anyone know if this is actually true?

Not true!!! Just read that it will begin on October 21, 2013.

I just read on this site that Season 2 is looking to start on Oct 21, 2013

I read that they will be going back into PRODUCTION on Oct. 21st, that doesn’t necessarily mean that’s when the new Season starts ~ but they already have some more shows ready to go I think – keeping up with the actual shows is easier than keeping up with all the backstage drama from Prospect Park ~

“A Knight to Remember”—loved the title, so I hope it means Tad is NOT being recast and Michael is returning. I have thoroughly enjoyed the new AMC, but one thing is lacking: Tad. MEK is a wonderful actor, he could always make me laugh, cry or just smile even if I was having a bad day. He does what great actors do, take you away from your reality for a bit.

MEK, you have made such a contribution to the world and your many fans. I sincerely thank you!

michael e knight is now listed in the permanent cast so he will be staying

I wish it would continue. Can’t wait for the next season to begin. Wish the JR and Colby charter didn’t change. Loved seeing Billie Clyde…..too funny. Hope the new season is soon.

AMC is still missing two key characters, First, Tad and his comedy but really AMC could be any soap. It is missing its heart and the spice – Erica Kane. AMC NEEDS Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) she brings that something extra. Surely she is available for a recurring role now that Devious Maids and Deadly Affairs are finished for a while.

Oh I don’t think Kendall will be back. Alicia Minshew signed on to Tainted dreams and Sarah Michelle Geller has a new tv series.

wooooo whooo
Tad is coming back yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy that was what i was thinking my man tad the cad yes yes yes

when will all my children be back on tv with new epsiodes. this is my favorite program. Been watching for years.
Thank you

Season was great … screamed when I heard Tad’s voice (so exciting). Please bring this wonderful show back as soon as possible – Jesse and Tad will add more spice.

Looking forward to the new season and Tad’s return!

AMC is not AMC without Erica Kane – bring her back – what is the girl doing anyway There aren’t a lot of acting jobs for actresses almost seventy years old.

Mark Consuelos Mourns the Loss of His Father

Saul Consuelos, the father of All My Children alum and Live with Kelly and Mark co-host, Mark Consuelos (ex0-Mateo, AMC), has died. During an emotional moment on this mornings, April 6 edition of the syndicated talk show, Mark shared, that his dad, “passed away peacefully” back on March 23 following a long illness.

His wife and co-host, Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, AMC) paid tribute to her her father-in-law expressing, he was, “the greatest person I’ve ever known. I can honestly say I will miss him every day for the rest of my life, as I know you will, as our children will. He really is so symbolic of everything you are.”

Kelly and Mark’s children, Joaquin, Michael and Lola Consuelos are said to be taking this extremely hard. Ripa added, “This is the first loss they’ve ever experienced in their lives. And I said, ‘By the time I was 8, I had no grandparents. You got to grow up (with grandparents). You got to have deep, meaningful conversations (with them).”

In another moment, Mark reflected on his dad. “It’s funny, I used to make a joke about my dad … if you asked him what time it was, he would tell you how to build a watch. There were a lot of lectures, a lot of lectures and I learned so much. If he was fixing something in the house, he’d make me watch and do it. And I didn’t know at the time why he was doing that. But now at the house, I’m able to do at least half of the stuff that he did. I learned the most by just watching him.”

Mark added that Saul Consuelos came to the U.S. from Mexico in his early teens and served our county for decades, detailing, he “Ended up at Special Operations Command in Tampa. This young kid from Mexico just got his education from the navy. Was always going to school. Was brilliant. Got his Masters while I was a kid.  He loved his country so much, If you’re going to put a face to an immigrant, he would be the prime example of what this country promises people.”

In a very heart-tugging moment, Consuelos shared that now its important they be there for his mother, Camilla. “We gotta take care of mom. We’re trying to convince my mom to move to New York. She’s such a character, she’s stubborn. What do you think, a cooking segment here on Fridays with Camilla?”

Now below, watch the very touching and emotional moments as Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa mourn the loss of Saul Consuelos.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Visits ‘The View’ Where Hosts Sidestep Controversial ‘Buffy’ Reboot Axing, But Talk ‘All My Children’

Published

on

By

On yesterday’s March 17 episode of The View, All My Children alum, Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall Hart), was the special guest. Since Monday, Gellar has been the subject of a hot-button issue since about the surprising turn of events that the highly-anticipated Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, in which she stars, and which was directed in the pilot by Oscar-winning director, Chloé Zhao, was no longer moving forward.

Gellar‘s appearance on the ABC morning talk show was devoid of any mention of Hulu cancelling its planned Buffy: New Sunnydale, in which Sarah was set to appear along with Ryan Kiera Armstrong. However, Gellar did discuss her new movie Ready or Not 2: Here I Come from Searchlight Pictures.

It should be noted that both Hulu and Searchlight Pictures are owned by The Walt Disney Company, while The View is produced by ABC News, which is also owned by The Walt Disney Company.

During the awkward interview, when it became clear the ‘Buffy’ reboot topic was off the table, The View co-host Sunny Hostin, talked about the “intense fight scenes” that have become a staple of her TV and film career starting with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Scream 2, and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

The ladies of The View also brought up Sarah’s beginnings on All My Children as Kendall Hart (1993-1995), showing a scene with her and her on-screen mother, the iconic Erica Kane, played by Susan Lucci. The discussion sprung out of another All My Children alum, Michael B. Jordan (ex-Reggie Montgomery) winning the Oscar this past Sunday for Best Actor for his role in Sinners. The View’s Joy Behar was quick to point out with Gellar, the All My Children alums that have gone on to great fame.

Photo: ABC

Previously on Monday, Gellar opened up to PEOPLE about being blindsided before while at the SXSW Film & TV Festival premiere for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. “I got the call as we were stepping onto stage for the premiere of their own movie. And it’s also the weekend of Chloé going to the Oscars as a best director nominee for Hamnet. For them to call us on the Friday of what should have been Chloé’s victory lap for an incredible film, and my world premiere of something that I worked very hard for is… that says something.”

She went to say, “We had an executive on our show who was not only not a fan of the original, but was proud to constantly remind us that he had never seen the entirety of the series and how it wasn’t for him.” Deadline reports that “multiple sources” identified the executive as Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich.

“I loved the duality that we had with this new, younger slayer who was where Buffy was when the show started, and then we would pick up with where Buffy was now,” Gellar told People about the setup.  However, according also to Deadline “After the pilot was completed and delivered, according to multiple sources, Hulu’s main note was that it played too young, with some indicating that the streamer also felt the show was too “small.”’

In the rewrite, sources also told the outlet that the writers did not take big enough swings, so they set out to do a rewrite it again. The last revision was more adult, featuring a lot more of Gellar’s Buffy, and was described as a more of a streaming show than a network one. When all is said and done there is hope that another Buffy IP will be up and running within the next couple of years.

You can check out Sarah Michelle Gellar’s full segment on The View below. Now let us know, bummed there is no Buffy reboot? What do you think about how this high profile Hollywood saga was side-stepped on the morning show? Did you love Sarah as the original Kendall Hart on All My Children?
