(WATCH) GH Nurses’ Ball Previews 2023

Photo: ABC

UPDATED: The General Hospital Nurses’ Ball is back for the first time in 3 years, and while we got a taste of it this past Friday on the March 31st episode, all the fun, performances, and drama pick up tomorrow on the April 3rd installment and through the week.

GH and ABC released a teaser trailer which featured some behind the scenes interviews and sound bites with: Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth), special guest star Grey’s Anatomy’s Chandra Wilson (Sydney), Kirsten Storms (Maxie), Donnell Turner (Curtis), Lynn Herring (Lucy), Jackie Zeman (Bobbie) and more. In addition, KABC Los Angeles filed a behind the scenes report speaking with Lynn, Kirsten, Finola Hughes (Anna), and Maurice Benard (S0nny).

Lucy, who is currently in hiding, desperately wants to get to the ball, since she has been the emcee for years! Will she make it? The smart money would be she makes an appearance! After all, who doesn’t want a Nurses’ Ball without Lucy’s costume changes and becoming exposed?

In this preview, with KABC’s Entertainment Reporter, George Pennacchio, Lynn Herring shares why the Nurses’ Ball came about in the first place: “1994 was the first year and it represents everything good about what we do in daytime. We have reality of a cause for AIDS/HIV that is so important, and acknowledging that we love everybody and everybody gets to be themselves. So I get to wear the best dresses … or the best sunglasses … and every year the story is engaged in celebrating the family of Port Charles and then our viewers, because we’re really trying to entertain them.”

Finola Hughes shared: “I think we bring home the conversation about HIV/AIDS. And I think it’s done in a very elegant way and a very kind way. We have fun but we’re also reminding people that we have to take responsibility for each other.”

In addition, on Monday, GH released their promo for the week which gives a little bit more of a glimpse of the fun, fashion, music and drama that is set to ensue.

Check out the teaser and this week’s promo below, followed by KABC’s report on the ball.

Now let us know, what do you hope goes down at this year’s Nurses’Ball? Do you think Lucy will make it to the event of the year in Port Charles before it comes to its conclusion? Weigh-in via the comment section.

So glad to see the Ball kick off yesterday! And Thank Goodness for Hulu so I won’t miss the second day when the network is sure to break in for a “news event”.

One would hope Hulu would go ahead and stream the episodes, but sadly this has not been the case with any of the pre-emptions in recent years. Even if the news coverage ends within the hour, if the live broadcast on the East Coast is interrupted, they will cancel the show nationwide.

Thank Hell that Days is on Peacock, where it’s no longer preempted by NBC News breaks!

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Who Will Turn Out to be Trina’s Biological Father … Curtis or Taggert?

This week’s episodes of General Hospital are set to deliver some needed results and some bombshells.  First, Victor’s will is read, but, in true GH fashion, the evil Cassadine delivers his reading via a videotaped message of himself in a return appearance by Charles Shaughnessy,

Meanwhile, Trina (Tabyana Ali), Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Portia (Brook Kerr) have all been awaiting the DNA tests results to prove that Trina is the biological daughter of Curtis, not Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) .

At the same time, Curtis is moving back in with Portia, after his lip lock with his ex-wife, Jordan (Tanisha Harper).

Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) and Trina are at the center of both storylines, because Uncle Victor probably left something behind for Spencer, while Trina will be dealing with the fallout from the DNA results.

Kate Mansi Makes Her General Hospital Debut as Kristina; What Were Your First Impressions?

Daytime Emmy winner, Kate Mansi made her first appearance on yesterday’s May 24th episode of General Hospital as the recast Kristina Corinthos-Davis.  The former Days of our Lives star takes over the role from Lexi Ainsworth.

As to Kristina’s story, it is revealed that Kristina is building an LGBTQ+ youth shelter with the help of her father, Sonny Corinthos. Kristina’s sister, Sam (Kelly Monaco) is concerned that she is not thinking through all the issues that come with creating and building such a space and shares her concerns with their mother, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn).

Enter Mansi as nuKristina with the renovation plans for the youth shelter.  She shares her excitement with Sam and Alexis.  An enthusiastic Kristina discusses the cosmetic changes she wants to make to the place and even shows her family, the Corinthos-Davis House logo.

Sam voices her concerns that in the past Kristina has great ideas and visions and how they don’t work out, because she never follows through.  Kristina gets angered and leaves the discussion to take a call from her contractor.

Remember, when Kristina lost her way, and then, seemingly everyone got looped in and involved with Dawn of the Dead cult?

Meanwhile, Molly (Haley Pullos in these scenes) is struggling with her inability to have a baby and tension is mounting between her and TJ (Tajh Bellow).

Mansi comes to GH with an impressive resume having been front and center as Abigail Deveraux on Days from 2011–2016, and then again in 2018–2020.  She took home the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series award in 2017 at the 44th annual Daytime Emmy Awards. In addition, Kate has continued to appear in primetime, streaming and motion picture roles.

So, what were your first impressions of Kate as Kristina Corinthos-Davis? How did you like her interactions on-screen with Kelly Monaco and Nancy Lee Grahn? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
