On the Wednesday, October 1st episode of General Hospital, Billy Miller will finally be seen and revealed as the new Jason Morgan with the key Port Charles character’s new face!

The three-time Daytime Emmy winner who is now bringing his A-game to the ABC soap opera in the pivotal role once played by Daytime Emmy winner Steve Burton Now Dylan, Y&R) had Twitter all abuzz tonight from GH head writer Ron Carlivati, to former Y&R castmate and new GH castmate Michelle Stafford (Nina), and also Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis)!

For starters, Ron Carlivati tweeted: “Billy Miller may or may not appear in tomorrow’s episode of @GeneralHospital. By which I mean he will. #GH”  He followed that up with a tweet that previewed:  “Bruised. Battered. Billy. #GH #Jason #HisStoryContinues #Tomorrow

Nancy Lee Grahn tweeted: “I totally dig #BillyMiller who was on #YR and now on #gh who’s face is facable tomorrow on #gh.”

Michelle Stafford tweeted:  “TOMORROW IT’S MILLER TIME GUYS!!!!! #GH #BILLYMILLER #JASON

So, looking forward to seeing Billy’s face as nuJason?  Let us know!

Exciting, exciting, EXCITING!!!
I am soooo luvin this!!
The great Billy Miller once again on my screen !!
His portrayal of Jason will be unique and tailored to his talents ………. 🙂

General Hospital is Rockin !!! (hard rockin)

GH always has something or somebody new to bring new stories
GH never gets stagnate, it’s a rolling stone !!!!

luv ya Billy !!!!

Can’t wait!

Will he be getting nuface or will they proceed with him always with the one he’s got and just suddenly replace old Jasons photos…or like i said Patrick will operate on Jason who will get plastic surgery and suffer from amnesia…Patrick will call him ‘Billy’ and move him into Drake home…Billy/Jason see’s Sam in Patricks arms and a flood of memories return…no one except maybe Monica believes who he is…months later Robin returns and reveals who Jason is…Jason becomes Jason Quartimaine MD, vowing to help others and never returning to his mob ways because it nearly cost him his chance to see Danny grow up…Meanwhile, Robin pregnant with Lulus and Stravos demon child and is forced to claim the child is Jasons which causes permanent split between the Drakes!!! Robins concern is she gave the baby the aids virus and is worried what Helene will do if the baby is born with hiv…just guessing!!!

I hope this will not be your scenario, (The part up to Robin reveals who Jason is) but I’m afraid you are right. The plastic surgery, amnesia, who am I, for months would hardly be worthy of what Michele Stafford called, “Miller Time” or anything exciting at all. “Who am I? Where I am? how did I get here?” for months would be fast forward time for me. I have never seen Billy Miller in any soap. I hope they will not do the obvious.

Great post, Lin.

I agree Lynn…i hope my guess is wrong and they reveal Jason soon but this is GH and this show is notoriuos for dragging storylines…like A.J.s for example!!!

Maybe its Liz who takes him home…

Is that a spoiler? I was hoping Liz would take him to her art studio. Is that still there? Deja vu. Well he is going to have to hide if Helena’s looking for him.She wouldn’t know what he looks like though. Anyway, whatever they do will be insane and unexpected and will make no sense but it will be fun and keep us tuning in!

Jim honey Patrick can’t work at the hospital right now. He has to be re-instated. Nina got him fired. That didn’t stop him from helping Liz today look at his x-ray or his file or something. Big hints in his prognosis too,

take that haters, I hope you all eat your words. Steve Burtons Jason can be replaced.

I agree. He left. He likes where he is. I don’t like how he lied to fans about why he was leaving, but I don’t blame him. I could see how playing Jason would get old. He did not have much of a range of things to do, wore the same clothes all the time, etc. He likes what he’s doing now. I feel he can be replaced. I just hope we’re not in for months of “Who am I? Where am I? Where was I? and plastic surgery so that no one knows who he is. Then Robin returns and even she doesn’t know. I hope they won’t do that.

Well the plastic surgery is coming. I just hope everyone finds out who he is before Steve decides to come back lol

Yes there is no need to drag it out. Every show from now on needs to be as fun and fast-paced as today. Am I wishing too much?

My belief is he will remove those bandages in about 2 weeks and will be having flashbacks of Jason soon. Jason who, I don’t know. I kinda am pulling for Jason Q and making so he can fall in love with whomever all over again. That would kind of be hard to imagine all of his old memories w/Sam and Liz and others being gone.

I really love this though. Please kick it into super high gear Cartini and let’s get rolling and have some fun!!

Steve Burton Didn’t Lie to the fans! He never wanted to leave GH, he simply wanted to work part tim hours so he could live in Tennesee with his family…his agent told GH, let’s make a new deal…and GH never did. So he left, and 6 months later was offered a chance at those part time hours on Y&R playing a great character, Dylan. Steve didn’t say all this when it happened because he didn’t want to throw anyone under the bus or make someone look bad at GH/ABC. Billy Miller is a great actor but GH offered him the chance to have time off for other projects when needed so I really don’t understand why they didn’t offer that time off to Steve! Anyway, one day in the future Steve Burton will play Jason Morgan on GH again, he said he would welcome a return one day. Steve Burton can’t be replaced, he played Jason for 21 years and was the only actor to play the role. He made the character a soap Icon. I just hope Billy Miller is able to have a smooth transition into the character and do the role justice, he certainly has the talent to do so!

Who are the haters? I haven’t read one negative comment about Billy Miller. Everybody loves the guy so your aggressive admonishment makes no sense. I am really tired of the overuse and misuse of the word “hater.”

First of all, I don’t normally use the word hater, because it sounds stupid but it fits this. It’s obvious you aren’t in any GH groups because the one I’m In on Facebook, they are seriously bashing BM because they swear Jason cannot be replaced.

I’ve grown to hate the word ‘hater’…lol

@ j thanks for setting the record straight about SB . The bottom line is Fv & RC at that time were mostly interested in keeping the OLTLactors happy as like JFP likes to keep SB happy. I learned long ago all producers have actors they favor so I had to learn to deal with it.

Well, Su, the fact that Sonny is getting away with AJ’s murder is getting pretty stagnant for me. Carly should be beheaded right along with him….heads should roll all around…perhaps Jason (Billy the hottie) will be the hero—- wouldn’t that be a plot twist—-Jason turning on both Sonny and Carly for killing his brother. I am just as happy as you seeing Billy Miller again.
I do not buy this lame excuse that it would hurt Michael sooooo much if he knew the truth. The fact is, Sonny is a coward…too afraid to man up and face the music which is not called ‘Michael’, but ‘The Law/Justice’. Also, what kind of mother would keep her son’s own father’s death from him? She is protecting Sonny, not Michael.
Welcome, Billy…I hope Port Charles will be your permanent residence for an indefinite amount of time and undo all its wrongs by kicking some butt!!!!…..counting the hours….
Oh, one more thing……. will Jason be known to all characters as Jason, or just to the audience?

Its just nice to see the return of another Quartimaine…i want Jason, not part of the mob but is the one who takes Sonny down!!!

From what I hear Liz gives him the name Jake. For now

So then, Jason IS John Doe. Even with the bandages, he didn’t look unrecognizable. So, does that mean he has aready had plastic surgery? I guess the pieces to the puzzle will come together, eventually. ……..slooowly!

I wonder if she’ll take him home…new face and amnesia…but he’ll move around her house and know where things are…and Liz will wonder how he knows all this and so comfortable with her house then eventually figure out who he really is…strange they dont do fingerprints or dna to figure out his identity…just sayin!!!

Let’s all Not Forget The “saint” known as AJ Quartermain nearly killed Jason with his drunk Driving, Kidnapped Michael and Kristina way back when and recently almost Choked Connie to death in Sonny’s Living Room, Pulled a gun on Connie about to kill her, and then went on to Choke out Ava when Sonny walked in and found him doing to her what he had done to another women(Connie). Now Sonny, believing that AJ had Murdered his Fiancé in cold blood, walks in and finds him attacking yet another women, what did you expect the mobster to do? He only shot AJ because he and everyone else believed that he killed his love Connie! You can’t really blame Sonny that much, what man wouldn’t want the man responsible for his Fiancé or wife’s death to pay for it instead of walk free and attack other women!? Seriously people. It’s just to bad that Sonny didn’t know the truth because he never would have shot him then! Sonny gets a bad rap from everyone but honestly in the history of TV and movies, he’s about the Least Lethal Mob Boss ever! I hope Sonny finds a way out of this entire mess he’s in thanks to Ava mostly. Heck maybe AJ is even still alive thanks to Monica and the Cassidines or something! I hope he is for Sonny’s sake and they could just recast him with somebody like Michael Muhney! TeamSONNY&JASON!

Thank you, J. Wow. I am so new to GH, I do not realize that there’s an entire history behind every character. I suppose I based my opinions on the last few months that AJ was on the GH stage.
Obviously when you put it that way, I have a clearer view of AJ’s character or lack thereof. Why does he have such a positive following? Was he misunderstood by his parents? Did he battle alcoholism forever?
In the end, he did try to connect with his son. I think everyone involved in any situation, as fiction is based on reality, in most cases, is responsible for his/her own behavior. So , J, I concur.

Hi, again, J. I like reading your posts. You have a knack of putting things in perspective…as Timmm and rebecca do also.
I think Billy Miller will slip into the role of Jason with ease. He had no problem assuming the Billy Abbot character. Once he climbed aboard, It didn’t even phase me that he had replaced DT.. Thus, I am certain the Jason character will fit him like a glove. The transition will not be a big deal for him, IMO. He is THAT good.

So exciIted to see Billy tackle the role of Jason. I expect nothing but excellence. 🙂

Finally a reason to watch Gh!!’

This is So EXCTING!!! Im going to have my four tv screens on lol 🙂

We GH fans are SO lucky to have this much talent on one show. cannot wait to see the Super Duper talented BM today!

I agree but you may just be talking about BM. I am referring to some of the other cast mates. I think there are many talented actors on GH. A few duds too of course. Also if I compliment BM I”m not slamming Burton. I’m just having fun enjoying this fun show.

BTW, BM has chemistry w/everyone I ever saw him hooked up with on Y&R. I feel that way about RH and KM on GH so I’m absolutely ready to see these actors mix and get on w/their “love in the afternoon”….

Also Mr. Fairman as I’ve said before, you have a classy site here!

Yes, too many actors not enough face time. I like these characters but Lucy is useless, Scott and Franco dont do anything, and Bobbie is rarely seen and she has two kids and grandchildren. No hard feeling but cut Bobbie, Lucy, Scott, and Lucas.

I’ve given up trying to understand the things they do at GH. I’ve decided they just do what they do for ratings bumps. There are so many little-used actors/characters on GH—but they keep adding more. Since Stafford came aboard I think she has had more air time than anyone else. Loved her for years on YnR; not feeling her on GH. Phyllis was a multi dimensional and (dare I say it?)better written character. Billy Miller is (IMO) an okay actor, but I never got why some thought he was so great. I couldn’t stand the character of Jason and am less than thrilled to have him revived although, knowing Carlavati, the character won’t be the same. Look how he sterilized Franco.

We may talk about the characters and their roles, good or bad….but, please can we not trash the soaps and the people who run them? I do not care who they are or how they write…I just salute them for bringing these shows to our screens.
Of course Jason will not be the same. Billy is not Steve. His personality will rub off on Jason…that’s inevitable. One cannot blame Carlivati for that ! I hope nuJason will be Jason Morgan…so, if that is the case, he will definitely be different.
Nina has had moderate air time. Plus, as a new character, we need to get to know her. This role is being honed….as is Franco’s. The writers are on to something with these two…so, please have a little patience. If you cannot find it within yourself to do that, then you should not watch. As I have said on another site…DO NOT RAIN ON MY PARADE.
I am all for discussions concerning characters, plots, storylines etc……negatively and positively. But, not against TPTB…..without ‘them’, we would have nothing to discuss.

Cee Cee, I disagree. Last I heard, the second amendment is still alive and well. Moreover, Jonboy writing that Billy Miller is an “okay actor” and expressing his belief that Carlavati is not a very good writer hardly qualifies as trash talk. His criticism was rather tepid in my opinion–I have read harsher criticism and I have expressed harsher criticism myself. I happen to agree with Jonboy and share his trepidation as far as the writing is concerned.
Finally, I never understood the notion of “raining on my parade.” If fans are so excited and happy about a story and an actor how does a comment which expresses a mildly critical opinion daunt your enjoyment of the show? Attempting to censor of an opinion which differs from your own is something with which I take great issue. Diversity being replaced by conformity is not a good thing on any forum.
That said, I am very excited about Billy Miller playing Jason. He’s an effervescent actor who radiates natural charm. I will watch for him.

Oops. I meant to say, I hope nuJason will NOT be Jason Morgan. I hope he will revert to his original role as Jason Quartermaine. I have not been watching for long, but it seems that most fans would like to see JQ back. Same here…I am not into mobsters.

CeeCee– I think you are being a bit unfair to jonboy. You really can’t have a serious discussion about characters, plots, etc, without including the writers who are writing the story. I mean you can’t discuss a Shakespeare play without including William Shakespeare in the discussion, so your logic they should be exempt from any comment doesn’t hold much weight if you honestly think about it.

I agree there are at times too many personal attacks against the writers as people, instead of actually discussing and debating the style and decision making process of character development and plot– but that is sometimes a function of maturity or an inability to communicate effectively with the written word, or it could be some people are just jerks.

However, regardless of the reason I have to take issue with you stance that people should censor their comments because they are raining on your parade— to silence free speech by telling others what they can or cannot say just because you don’t like the negative tone of the comment is trending on a fine line. Being hateful or libelous should not be condone and that’s a given, and this site employs moderators to filter out the worse of the worse, as it should be. But telling someone what they should think or feel about anything, for no reason other than you don’t like how they think or feel is a dangerous practice.

I come to this site confident in my own being– no one’s opinion on any topic will ruin my enjoyment of the site or the soaps- and when I find too many negative comments I just skip over them, because no one is forcing me to read them. After a while you get sense of who is on this site just to troll, to say nasty things on purpose to provoke a reaction, and those who are offering honest opinions, even if they might be negative at times.

As for TPTB giving us our soaps– sorry but they aren’t giving us anything– they are selling a product to us, and if we don’t buy it, they don’t make money via ratings— if TPTB are truly interested in keeping their product on the air they should be listening to the people they are trying to market to. If our soaps go off the air it won’t be because of negative comments, but because they weren’t making enough profit. We can be loyal to our soaps, but trust me that loyalty is not returned– as any fan of any cancelled soap will tell you.

It’s a matter of option, Harry…we’re good. I love our differences.

Mary, I did not intend to cause all this controversy. I am not malicious or intentionally infringing on people’s freedom of speech.
I will not drag this any longer. You have spoken your peace and I whole heartedly appreciate your soft tone….unlike some other’s. Some posters are brutal, as you well know.
I will not explain myself any longer, nor will I be put in that position.
Thank you Mary…I will tamp my phraseology in the future.
I apologize to Jonboy , which coincidentally, is my little nephew’s nickname. Sorry!!!!
I respond with respect to those who, such as yourself, Mary, reciprocate.

BINGO! I compare this to rooting for your favorite sports team. Its okay to be mad or throw out suggestions but be thankful you have a sports team in your city and can basically watch them for free. Same with soaps, I am so grateful for Ron and Frank saving GH. GH was so close to being off the air and these two along with the other writers revived this historical gem!

Please, harry. You should not get so upset all the time. It’s not worth it…not healthy…bad for the blood pressure. Follow my advice and listen to HAPPY. I play it for my 5-year old when he gets cranky……really works.
You seem to take issue with me, Su, and now Connie….who will be next?

CeeCee– just saw your reply to me– it is I you who needs to apologize to you if I made you think I was attacking your character or your motives. I am bit sensitive about free speech and some times I read things I become like a bull seeing a red flag and I need to charge— right up my soapbox ( no pun intended) and give my lecture on the topic. I thought you would know by my previous posts that I was making an intellectual point and you wouldn’t take my speech too personally.
However since the moderator of this site disallowed my post explaining to you what I read in your post that was that red flag for me, and since you stated you no longer wish to discuss the issue I will let it go–
Just know you sound like a very charming upbeat woman and enjoy all your posts— you do have my up most respect and you are very wise because it is a good policy to stick to talking about the stories and plots, because that is what this site is about. In In the future I will try to save the speeches about free speech for websites designed for human rights and not soaps. Thank you for your patience– and if anyone rains on your parade, hope you have an umbrella so you can enjoy the parade regardless– best wishes always from mary sf.

Freedom of speech is about all we have left….and even that seems to be dissipating. I stand by my post. And, without belaboring this thing, would like to just comment on one of CeeCee’s comments. No, I don’t want to be placed in the position of not watching. I’ve watching GH, off and on, for many, many years. It’s like a relationship, I suppose. You once loved it but now, not so much anymore. On one hand you want to step out of the relationship; on the other, you don’t. I want it to be better; not something I sit here shaking my head at.

luvin this!
Billy Miller is a very versatile actor..
He can be loving and humorous and he can be dangerously dark ..

I’m looking forward to see which why they will take him, whichever way Billy will go he will own it!!

(I do like the bad bad bad boys, however 🙂

However, Harry. There’s a huge difference between expressing one’s opinion and attacking someone else’s. Jonboy is entitled to his, as I am to mine. I expressed my disagreement, but did not attack.

I love the expression DON’T RAIN ON MY PARADE….use it all the time. Do you know the song HAPPY, by Pharrel Williams? I love it. ….Listen to it all the time. It calms me down.

Herry is cool.. he’s my sugar daddy heh.. be nice to Harry !! … lol 🙂

Also, I recommend “Mr. Blue Sky” by ELO. I challenge you to listen to this song and not be happy and dancing around in your living room!

Wow, Su…I won’t even touch that one…hmmm!

2 yearsI can not wait so happy finally a NuJason been waiting 2 yrs now!!!

great yes come jason

I love Billy Miller. He is charming sexy, hot and a wonderful actor. Let the fire works begin. Billy Miller has won 3 daytime emmys as Billy Abbott on The Young and The Restless, I see a 4th emmy in the future for Billy Miller. He will be terrific as the new Jason Quartermaine.

Was it todays GH when we were supposed to see nuJason? I looked pretty close and did a rewind and I swear it looked more like Franco wrapped up than Billy M.

Seems like there are last minute changes because Franco one day has a clear shaven beard and the next it is out of control mess…all supposed to be in the same day… not sure how Patrick can perform 2 brain surgeries on him and not think “hmmm that’s odd” same scar tissue same place?

Either way still looking forward to billy M 🙂

It was Billy. Patrick was curious as he looked at the scans. If he had Jason’s old films next to John Doe’s he would probably figure it out.

Yes, he should. But, if Sam is anywhere near Patrick, she will go into one of her lengthy monologue and befuddle his brain…lol.

I quit watching Y&R a long time ago so I don’t know how Billy was on that show I do remember him from AMC and he seemed a good actor then I just hope they do something right and make the fans accept him because it is really hard to have a long time actor replaced. I don’t really want him to be a hit man anymore but making him totally different wont work either people liked that Jason was a mixture of bad a– and loving. As far as the plastic surgery that might have already been done at creepy clark or else why didn’t anyone recognize him his face is showing enough out of the bandages to see its not steve burton. well good luck GH because even though I ‘ve been aggravated a lot by some of the things being done I don’t want to lose the only soap I watch and have been a fan of for forty years.

Love the scene with his little boy….It was touching..

and love the scene with his Dr……

What s woman to do….

Silas or Jason………………

I love them both!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today having Danny walk into Jason’s room and hold his hand was magical. Danny knows who is lying in the hospital bed! GREAT scene.

It’s Miller Time in Port Charles! Finally, a real actor will be playing Jason.

I’m really excited that we get to see NuJason’s face at the same time he does! He will be shocked he looks so different if he doesn’t have amnesia.

I LOVE that he got mowed down by Ava. To me, that was Diane mowing Billy Abbott down (they were on Y&R at the same time). Still AMAZED Ava stopped & called Jordan for help.

I thought that by having him get hit by a car, that would give him a reason to have facial surgery (plus The Cassadines won’t know what NuJason looks like) and have Liz get attached to the poor John Doe that was hit by a car just like her son Jake. Maybe she can comfort him and save him like she couldn’t Jake.

Also, I think having Danny run in and touch his daddy is dang smart! What better way to soften the audience up to a NuJason! I bet they had a blast filming those scenes.

One more thing! BM has a lot of SB’s features: eye color, height, weight, hair..BM’s voice is very different. Maybe that’s why he couldn’t talk in the car with Robin. Victor did something to his vocal chords?

Would it have been possible that Victor did one of those surgeries he’s had or was that all GH’s previous work? Just thinking Vic is controlling him somehow. I ramble… I’m oone.

I knew je would be paired with Liz!!!! They are going to be the next golden couple

Yes, they will, Ghlover…at least, I hope so. They are both so beautiful !!!!. Besides, Liz deserves a solid relationship.

@Timmm. Oh, joy !! I love ELO. My favorite is DON’T BRING ME DOWN….and we do dance to it in our great room…..I am an oldies aficionada. My favorite band of all time is Queen…even post mortem, I still adore Freddy Mercury.
This is why, I wish Kristen/Kiki would sing on GH. She has a fantastic voice. Sadly, some of these talented actresses/a

Oops, sorry, Timmm…holding the baby with one arm and I accidentally sent.
I was saying that some actors and actresses who have such talent musically, should be given the opportunity to showcase their voices. Kassie DePaiva is also a great singer. I wish TPTB would incorporate musicality within some scenes.

Hi, Jonboy . I am so glad you decided to address me personally. It is quite annoying dealing with third parties, who think they need to interject their 2 cents worth of their opiniated selves. We all verbalize our opinions. Good or bad, I am not the only one. This is why this site is there. Thank goodness I will be going back to work and won’t have to put up with the know-it-alls of this world as much…once in a while. I always try to be respectful but there is a line that some people should not cross.

Thank you Mr. Fairman for giving me this opportunity…now, I am in tears.

I do realize that the “do not watch” part was a vey stupid thing for me to write. I am sorry for that. Sometimes I think out loud, not realizing our words have consequences and can be very hurtful. My deepest apologies.
However, this is a site to express opinions ….you expressed yours and I expressed mine in return. There is not one time that I said anything to you to hold your tongue ….I did not mention freedom of speech. It is part of the constitution and I know US history well.
One of the posters gave me an abusive tongue lashing about the second amendment contrary to what what he was spewing. If you go back and read my original post, you will see that I never said you could not express your opinion. What I was trying to impart is that no matter our personal opinion about TPTB, I am happy soaps are still televised, regardless. This person has an inexplicable urge to verbally antagonize me….so obvious.

Then there is the softer version of poster who patronizes me, writes this multi paragraph sermon on the social graces and freedom of speech? I did not bother reading the rest after the first paragraph. My mother went into peels of laughter…I am her little girl, and some stranger lectures me? Ha! She proceeds to spoon-feed me, as if I were a mindless, uneducated idiot. I teach High School Physics…there must be a brain in there somewhere….not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but it got me a PhD. I humbly say that, Jonboy.

Lastly, Jonboy, I always enjoy your posts. Again, my words hurt you…it was unfair. I am so sorry. But, in no way do I feel that I infringed on your freedom to express yourself. It would make me a hypocrite…..or calling the kettle black, as it were. Later.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
