What did you think of the return of GH's Robert Scorpio?

On yesterday’s episode of General Hospital the drama continued in the wake of Robin’s death as Anna, played by beautifully by Finola Hughes tells a returning Robert, (Tristan Rogers) why she summoned him back to Port Charles.
When Anna tries to tell Robert that his daughter had perished in the hospital laboratory fire, at first he is in denial insisting he needs to see the burned and charred body, even though Anna warned against it. But Robert heads to the hospital morgue anyway, and that is where we last saw him before today’s episode.
It has been quite awhile since daytime fans got to see a treat of having both Tristan and Finola together on-screen and playing such high emotional stakes scenes, but that is just the tip of the iceberg! Look for Robert to cross paths with Luke (Anthony Geary). And as we know, con artist Holly (Emma Samms) revealed that Ethan (Nathan Parsons) is really Robert’s son after all, (as we all originally thought), but is that true or another con? Or just to get Helena and her blade away from them? We shall soon find out!

I loved his return Tristan was one of the reasons I watched GH. Wouldn’t it be funny if Ethan was neither one of them’s!

GH is getting good again, and love the blending of some of the OLTL cast.
I like the OLTL cast coming aboard because I thought we’d get our favorites back for the long haul, and they’d mix it up, but if we keep the OLTL for a long term while our GH favorites come and goes at a blink of an eye doesn’t enticed me to stay with the show once my favorite is gone. Just being honest.
That’s a very fair comment.
Maybe my ultimate hope could be that “The Mannings” presence keeps OLTL alive in the viewers mind until ABC can see the wrong in cancelling it, and thru this blending with GH, OLTL can one day, re-emerge.
LOVED LOVED seeing Robert!! Holly I could do without. I ff her stuff. Hopefully she will take Ethan and be gone soon.

And the Kate story, I could write myself since being such a long time viewer of OLTL and the multiple personalities. However, I think at Sonny’s trial…she is going to ‘come out’. Like Karen Wolek did back in the day at trial. So it will be good…in time.
Piffy who I NEVER cared for I fell in love with on Wednesday. Her ‘talk’ to Jr Drake was heartbreaking.

I don’t mind Ethan being Robert’s… I’ve always wanted Robert to have a son..So, I hope if he is Robert, then I hope they recast the character since the actor want to leave and Robert & son can have a story together. If Daniel Goddard wasn’t on Y&R I’d prefer him to play RXS jr.

Yep, Lucas was Robert until they changed it at the very last minute. I watched that entire storyline live and it was no doubt that Lucas was Robert’s.
Sorry, Lucas is not Robert’s son either…Lucas is the adopted son of Dr. Tony Jones and nurse Bobbie Spencer. They named him “Lucas” after his uncle Luke Spencer. His biological parents were mobster Julian Jerome and Cheryl Stansbury, both deceased. Bobbie adopted Lucas as a baby and later lied to keep him when she found out it had been an illegal adoption. She eventually had to give Lucas back to his birth mother, Cheryl Stansbury. When Cheryl died a year later, she named Bobbie and Tony as Lucas’ guardians. Bobbie and Tony battled for custody of Lucas against Cheryl’s sister, Tiffany Hill Donely and her husband, Sean Donely. The judge awarded custody to Bobbie and Tony. Tiffany and Sean eventually left town.
I have loved Scorpio since day one. The flashback he had of when he met Robin was precious. I remember watching that day!
I remember watching all those years ago too!!!! The flashback had me misty. This is the GH we love and want back. I am so happy Robert is back. I wish Tiffany would come back as well.

Im loving it ,would love to see him hang around for a long time with anna and holly,they were always on interesting adventures back in the day,nothing like the garbage that general hospital has been shoving down our throats for almost a decade .port charles is getting interesting again,wow, there are more people living in our little soap community other then sonny and jason and even though I like her carly.the whole world evolved around those three people ,while the rest of the cast just popped up when those 3 characters had all the stories ,ron and frank are doing a beautiful job in bringing back the oldies and creating stories for the ones the other writers didnt care for.Its a shame that robin couldnt have stuck around a little longer ,maybe she would have gotten a better send off,I still cant believe she is dead.

Loving it, I love Robert thinking like a cop/spy from the getgo, And when said Patrick is a civilian..It was also so Robert like to want to to see a body, even if it’s his baby girl and seeing her that way will literally destroy him. Omg, why can’t he stay longer? He has such a strong presence & so charismatic, he add so much to the simplest scenes. His acting style is so natural it as if he really isn’t acting at all. I LOVE this guy. Once Robert get over the shocked/grief/denial I’d want him to investigate, he’s an investigator by nature, I want Ethan as his son, Can’t wait for R&H scenes I know it would be very intense with the Ethan’s business and R/A has a real nice vibe and last but not least Robert&Luke (thud )best bro mance in
daytime. All the more reason why Robert really need a long, long stay.

General Hospital took us back to the Glory Days of GH (80’s) with Robert, Anna, Luke, Holly and Helena and Little Robin!!! I’m in Love, only 2 other people stand in that catogory for me Nancy & Lane!!! Loved it” on We Love Soaps’s timeline. Since Robin death there has been one great rocken scenes after another and surprises. With all the come back I think GH has done the impossible by getting all of these beloved character together again. And the surprise of Holly announcing Ethan is Robert’s son no Luke, I for one hope its true!!! More Please!!!
I like Ethan being a Luke’s son, and the brother to Lulu and Lucky, but playing the child most like Luke…. But leveling the field of BOTH Laura having a child outside of the Spencer marriage (Nickolas) as well has Luke, Ethan.

I want Robin to be Robert’s only offspring. Don’t want Robert to deal with yet another “deadbeat dad ” senario with another offspring that may or may not be his. Both Holly and Helena could be lying. They are both evil con artists.

Wow!!! Another great episode. Loved seeing Mac and Robert tog. They fought when they 1st met up all those yrs ago too. I think Robert took a swing at Mac when he 1st came to town? God that scene w/robin and robert tog, the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up. Started when he was going to pull up the sheet. Then her ghost appeared….When he said my baby…. Then Patrick telling Emma, well Liz helping him tell Emma. They really have to take the friendship route for awhile w/that teaming, nothing else would make sense. Would b callous.
Really dont care about Sonny and Kate. i don’t see any chemistry and don’t care about her having DID.
Ethan is a Spencer, that’s settled. Better off flipping a coin for that matter. More reliable than the DNA tests.
So next week is Robin’s funeral and the Mannings hit town. Then after Robins’s funeral next week McBain hits on the 13th. So it’s moving along.
It’s nice to have a forum like this to share our emotions and thoughts about our soap. It’s a great outlet for me, as i’m on my own w/this interest in my household. I enjoy reading every1’s take & opinion, whether i agree or not. It’s been fun and interesting. Feel like there’s still life in being a soap fan.

I like seeing Robert Scorpio back!!!!! And Anna ,Holly…….. Can’t wait to see Michael Easton(Det. John McBain)!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe he can whip Sonny into shape…. I enjoy seeing these people on GH………Sad about Robin!!!!!!!!!!!! Like seeing a few of the OLTL crew on GH!!!!!!!!!!!! That’s my main reason for watching GH…..I miss seeing them at 2:00pm………….I wish GH would not have so much revenge & violence in their stories….They should change that up a bit… Helena still on I rememeber her years ago…Her character hasn’t changed one bit!!!!!!!!!! Still trying to kill people & get revenge…They should bring back the good old days when GH was SMOKIN!!!! It was really cookin then!!!!!!!!!! Like to see more of that.. When there was a knock on Patricks door, was anyone really surprised their stood Liz?
I know she came over as soon as she heard. She did right. However, having grandma Anna leave and Liz stay for Patrick telling Emma was weird. Anna should have been there. Liz should not have been.
Either way, I can see where this is going, and she will play a vital role in Patricks life going forward. Her kids can play with Emma, and keep Emma’s mind busy.
When is everyone going to be together? When is Maxie going to meet up with Mac? When does Alexis comfort Mac? Still loose threads..but the show is coming along slowly..
I absolutely LOVE Tristan Rogers and his character Robert Xavier Scorpio. Tristan, Finola and Kimberly are the BEST on-screen trio on a soap EVER. I love them and I am so sad about Robins death. This is a great storyline for Tristan and he is an amazing actor. This is the GH that I love. I am happy that Frank and Ron are bringing back the vets that we all love and I hope that Tristan stays on for a long time. He was great on Y & R but Port Charles is his home. Go Tristan and Finola!!!!

Sassy, I love that walk too. Most people don’t notice that. But I notice unique things about people. His walk is not often seen. In my lifetime I have met ONLY one person who walks like Tristian Roger’s, and that is my former pastor of a church I use to attend growing up. The pastor is about Tristians age, and when people speak about him, they said, ” Oh, I saw Rev, and you know you can’t mistake him because of that walk…” The Tristian Roger’s walk! And YES, he iwas a handsome man earlier on in life, and is STILL quite handsome, with lots of chrisma like Tristian. What a walk…… LOL

just saw Thursday’s episode and Tristan and Finola and Jason and Becky were fabulous!!! Please keep Tristan and Finola for a long while. The whole episode was awesome with the exception of the Kate scenes. Please get her into a clinic somewhere far far away from Port Charles. Finally we are seeing more appropriate scenes about Robin!!! Kudos to Maurice too! I love Kimberly as he former self… love angels, spirits and ghosts!!! Well done GH!!! Michael you asked how we would grade it and after this week we are getting to an A!!!

Tristan Rogers has been amazing! Robert Scorpio has been sorely missed on GH. His scenes with Finola were phenomenal, and I can’t wait for Monday to see him with Anthony Geary. I haven’t been this exited to watch GH in a very long time.

Luke’s facial expression when Anna told him Robert knows about Robin and is here in town, broke my heart. Reminded me of the good ol days. One of the best friendships of all time. Luke looked so concerned about his friend. This is the Luke I remember and loved.
I love having Robert Scorpio back and want him to stay! Having Robert back makes me even like watching the other storylines going on…knowing the next scene could be a Robert/Anna, or Robert/Mac or Robert/Luke scene.

That’s the part I don’t understand, if they’re bringing back lapse viewers(I am one of them) Then they’re doing their job..On the norm I wouldn’t be watching GH, the show has gotten so bad and it certainly wasn’t the show that I grew up watching..So, I gave it up and now they bring back Tristan Rogers/Robert Scorpio the best character ever, Emma Samms/Holly although the story for Holly has been atrocious but I love seeing Emma/Holly and crossing my fingers that when she finally has some scenes with Tristan/Scorpio we get the old magic back and hopefully a Scorpio jr.I love these vets, they’re the reason most of us are coming back is to see them..So, why can’t we keep them?
I love seeing Robert, Holly and Anna back. I’ve been watching GH since 1977 and I love these characters. Having been screwed out of a R&H kid before, I can’t wait for it to be revealed that Ethan is the son of supercouple Robert & Holly. They deserve it. Bring back Laura for Luke and Duke for Anna. Those are the supercouples: Luke & Laura, Robert & Holly and Duke & Anna. Hopefully Ron will reunite those 3 supercouples in the end.

Love Robert Scorpio, have been a TR fan since he first appeared in 1980 and watched almost every minute of his run thereafter. I do have to say, though, that I am HATING the way Holly is being dumped on once again. As somebody who also saw ALL of her 80’s run and most of her 90’s time onscreen, lying, cheating, and tramping is NOT her. It’s as if somebody *heard* about her debut in 1982 and *maybe* her exit in 1993 and then made all sorts of assumptions about the character without ever bothering to watch her most popular stuff from 1983-1985.
Yes! So totally agree! Her family were a bunch of cons and she broke away from them and changed completely. I can see her doing a con on Helena to try and save Ethan, but as a rule no. Love Holly & Robert together! Don’t get all the Anna/Robert love because all she did was act superior and sarcastic and even mean to him. It was disgusting. I remember here getting all fake romantic to him once and then getting him tied up to a pole and walking out and leaving him that way. Someone did that to me and they would be so gone from my life.
I have loved having Tristan, Emma, and Finola back on GH even if it is under such sad circumstances. Tristan and Finola have done some outstanding work as grieving parents. I have always wanted Robert and Holly to have a child together so I am all for Ethan being their son. Robert should have a son to carry on the Scorpio name. I just wish the story was being told a bit differently. It can’t be an easy transition to play the loss of a child and introduction to a new child. I can’t wait to see how the Robert, Holly, Luke scenes play out this week. I hope we are given the opportunity to see the real Holly. I hope TPTB bring Tristan and Emma back very soon! Characters like Robert, Holly, and Anna are an asset to GH and I hope they are used to their full potential.

I think Tristan and Finola were outstanding. I think Holly is lying to save Ethan’s life. While i have nothing against the actress who plays Helena, the character has become ridiculous, like Cruella Deville. The character needs to be jettisoned. I don’t want Robert to become self-destructive, but I would expect him to be very emotional. I’d like to see Anna and Robert help eachother- and Patrick to get through this. I’d like to see him be loving to his granddaughter. I hope that this is not Robert and Holly’s son. This is not the time for that or for them to get together. I’d like to see him with Anna. Also, I love finola, but she needs to gain weight. She looks too thin. I am worried.
About Helena, it is ridiculous that she would wait all these decades, yes decades to avenge her son’s deaths. Lucky was around all that time and she even kidnapped him and messed with his mind. Why not just kill him then? Not that I want her to. but if that was her goal. So that part of the story is kind of silly. Suddenly one of Luke’s son’s must die and Ethan is the lucky winner because Lucky left town. Lulu is “lucky” she’s a girl.

Anybody else intrigued by the parallel of Luke’s son “dying” in a fire, his charred remains being ID’d by his dad, only to have Lucky alive in the hands of Helena… and now here’s Robert and Robin in an eerily similar situation.

How do we get “ol buddy” Sean Donely back? I know Robert and Luke were considered “best friends” but I always preferred the friendship of Robert and Sean! Plus Sean is/was Robin’s godfather…he would want to be there!

I was over the moon when I heard Tristan and Emma were coming back, even if it was only for a few episodes. Robert and Holly were my reason for watching GH back in the 80s. I’ve hated how Holly has been written lately, as an evil con-artist. She was a heroine who would never have lied to the people closest to her. I’m hoping Ethan is Robert and Holly’s son and hope they will continue the character, even if it means recasting the role when Nathan Parsons leaves the show.
So glad someone else remembers the REAL Holly! Her family were a bunch of con artists and that was all she knew. When she fell in love with Luke she changed. Which also points out that what has been written about Like being this big con artist was and is crap. He only did it if the family was in danger and he would scam their way out. Anyway then when Robert & Holly got together it was awesome. He was Police Commissioner and she was NO con.
The Holly I remember wanted to be a wannabe detective not some loser con..Holly best & most popular years on GH were as this wannabee detective.She and Robert were the epitome of romance. I wished they would get back to that with Holly..Focused on what made her popular to beginning with Robert and Holly the pair.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fact that RC and FV were smart enough to bring Tristan back to GH. Getting these vets together was brills. The brilliant part seems to stop there though, because RC only wrote for Tristan to stay 6 eps. I haven’t watched General Mobspital in decades. The ratings show that I’m not alone in leaving and staying away. Keeping Tristan means that we get something fresh and would have a reason to keep watching, even if the Sonny & Jason show continues. If RC isn’t wise or creative enough to bring Tristan back, then GH will remain a show that has nothing to offer me.
I could deal with any story lines or characters on this show just along I got to see what I want to see..I want Tristan Rogers signed to something long term and I want to see the Scorpio’s made prominent again, if every other fan bases are getting what they want why can’t we get what we want? The show already feel 1000x better with him being around now. But how can I continued to stay with the show when the character/actor that brought me back will be gone? I hope they’re working on something long term with Tristan’s now.
Love Robert, have since the first episode he appeared in. Holly and he were an awesome couple when hey were married. She had totally given up being a con. TPTB that brought her back in 2006 and made her this heartless chic and that was not true at all. To the person that said Lucas is Robert’s son, no he isn’t. He is Bobbie & Tony’s son.
I love it that Tristan and Emma were brought back. Robert and Holly were always my favorite GH couple. They were absolutely fabulous, with chemistry that was off the charts! But why are they continuing the lying con-artist persona for Holly? The Holly I watched in the 80s was the nicest person ever and a true blue heroine. She left Luke behind in 1983 and never looked back. I’m hoping that Ethan is Robert and Holly’s son and looking forward to seeing the scenes with Tristan and Emma.
I have not been looking forward to watching GH like I am now in years! Tristan/Robert’s return has been heartbreaking so far, and I can’t wait to see more!
I find myself counting down his episodes and thinking oh, boy he only has a few days left. I I wished his stay was longer and he got to mingles with his family more.
I am so happy and excited to see Tristan and Emma back on GH. I have not been so excited about watching GH since the 80s when Holly and Robert were the most amazing supercouple ever! I can’t wait to see them in scenes together. Robert and Anna were somewhat good as parents, but I could not enjoy them as a couple. Their relationship as a couple seemed forced!
This was pure & complete crap. I quit watching GH after the early 90’s. Am only back (on youtube) to see Anna and Robert whom I LOVED together…Why am I bothering… they are making Robert act like a complete idiot. We are supposed to believe that he would commit suicide, leaving Anna and Mac to deal with a double funeral. We are supposed to believe that he also would not care about his grandchild or his daughter’s funeral…only to chase after a “son” that really isn’t his (but even if he were, they would pretty much be strangers…). Totally bogus. And, I admit that I’ve always detested Emma Samms, but why does she always seem to come back when Finola and Tristan do? Just to ruin the show. GAG.
Nostalgia is nice but TR should be back on #YR as Colin. He and Jill were magic with nowhere to go but up. No ancient history needed their chemistry is of this decade and smoking hawt.
I loved seeing Robert again. He looked great, and Tristan did a fantastic job, as did Emma Samms. I hope that they bring them both back and we get to see more of these two. It was like old home week on General Hospital. Sadly, you can’t make every fan base happy so you will have the detracters, but I loved seeing them back.
I just love seeing them back but the writing was horrible for Robert Scorpio.
I haven’t watched GH in over 15 years, with exception of an occasional peek to see what was going on. I was so suprised when I came aross the Soap Opera channel and watched Finola Hughes, today, speak in one scene and Tony Geary in another. It was like old times, . I remember Luke and Laura’s wedding, it was actually played on ABC’s 6 pm news the evening it aired. It would b wonderful If Robert, Luke, Anna, Holly, Mac, would be included in the cast on a regular basis.

I wasn’t happy at all with how Robert was written in his return. I don’t care how heartbroken he was, Robert would NEVER have abandoned Anna or their granddaughter Emma. And he certainly would not have blown off his daughter’s funeral to go after his long-lost “son.” I tuned back in to GH to see my former favorites Robert and Anna mourn their daughter’s death. I had the chance to be such a powerful story. Anna was great as usual – but in a blink of an eye, my Robert was gone – uh, before mourning his daughter. Not cool. Epic fail.
The church should of been filled, and what would of really been like old times would of been Anna, Robert, Holly, Luke, in the church at Robins funeral. Robert and Anna there to support one another with Holly standing in the wings offering comfort to Robert, and even remininsing about what a future would have been like with him. Naturally, Luke would be there to support ALL his friends, as he actually was with Robert, and is with Anna.
Jason should of found out in the 10th hour, before the body left the church, and he got a cab over to the church in shock to everyone there. Sam either could have been at the church paying her respects OR at the hospital (perhaps in the cafeteria getting Jason something to drink) only to come back to his room and discover he has left the hospital and naturally she would follow.
*Jason in his hospital room wth a black shirt (work ready) oppose to having on a white shirt, and a bandage over his head, (even if he was ok) he still should have had a white bandage over his head for support, and still make his hospital stay believable. He was in the hospital after a major operation, dressed in black/ no bandage on head, up walking around looking just fine. FAILED, with Jason and Robert’s story.

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5
Sonny wants answers. Ava is struck with inspiration. Curtis’ trial begins. Brook Lynn wrestles with a big decision. Lucy and Serena scheme.
THURSDAY, AUGUST 6
Sonny makes a stunning announcement. Serena makes her move. Willow faces a new threat. Isaiah takes the stand. Lucy questions Laura.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 7
Josslyn is taken aback. Ava courts a new ally. Jordan and Anna catch up. Isaiah vents to Lucas and Elizabeth. Michael questions Jacinda.

General Hospital Fan Club Weekend brought out many of your favorites to the four day event; with the main cast gathering on Saturday, August 1. Fans near and far attended the weekend held this year at the Burbank Marriott Hotel. Whether it be the main cast event or the smaller more intimate events featuring two or three cast members a great time was had by all.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80
Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.
PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
