General Hospital
"Who Killed Silas?" Murder Mystery Set To Wrap This Week On General Hospital!

Courtesy/ABC
Looks like General Hospital will not be dragging out the whodunit in the murder of Silas Clay, which saw popular daytime star Michael Easton being written-off the canvas.
While evidence has been mounting against Silas’ ex wife Nina Clay (Michelle Stafford) there are several other suspects who probably did the deed. The latest ABC promo relates five suspects: Rick (Rick Hearst), Madeline (Donna Mills), Nina , Franco (Roger Howarth) and Ava (Maura West).
There still could be others who offed the doc, chief among them: Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) or what about even Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin)? The smart money, or Vegas odds shall we say, seem to be leaning towards the killer turning out to be Donna Mills’ Madeline Reeves, but could it turn out to be a surprise?
Watch the promo for this week’s GH after the jump. Then, let us know who is your prime murder suspect … and if you are glad that the series is wrapping up this story.
Think you know #WhoKilledSilas? The killer will be revealed this week! #GH
Posted by General Hospital on Tuesday, August 25, 2015
I just don’t even care who murdered Silas, so there. BTW, I’m on a two-week experiment to not record on my DVR or watch GH to see if I miss it. First time to not watch GH in 3 years.
Your very brave charday, I wish I could do it but I’m an addict, lol, so even though the show is not great , it still has my loyalty, and my guess is Madeline did it.
I’ve not been watching the show for the past two months and haven’t really missed it. I occasionally check the forums and this site to see if I’m missing anything but so far, nope.
I think all of the pictured suspects have killed someone and gotten away with it and/or at least done things that are as bad, so I’m not sure I’m understanding the stakes – is there someone in this suspect list that I’m supposed to be worrying about being guilty?
My hope is Madeline… don’t think they’ll make it Franco, Nina, or Ava, the actors are too valuable (like it or not, they’re Emmy winners). Hope it’s not Ric, hate to lose another vet (and Sonny’s bro, and Molly’s dad…). Mills is an Emmy winner too, but the most expendable. Wish it could be Kiki, but she wouldn’t kill her dad….
Its Madeline, she is disposable at this point.
They are wrapping up sweeps and it was just horrible! I watched it with my hand on the FF button!
@Timmm.
My first guess had been Rick, Timmm. That was before I went away. Everyone was pretty much convinced it had been Ava. I never thought so….too simplistic. But, Madeline is the next best choice. She and Rick have the most to gain and lose, at the same time…depending how one looks at it….but, basically, it comes down to the same thing. How about the vampire?? Could he have ‘flown’ in?
So, Rick was arrested. I am starting to have second thoughts. This, too, seems too easy.
I am so rooting for Nathan to prove he is a worthy cop…..my beautiful sleuth….LOL. Dante? Well, he always appears as if he just got out of bed…hair always messed up …..I can envision him wearing glasses, slightly set awry on his head/face….LOL. I think there’s something missing…and, now I don’t know about Rick. I wish TPTB would kill two birds with one store. Get rid of both MadMaddie AND Rick.
I’m with Harry, I am sick of looking at Madelines’ scary eyes. Harry finally cleared what is so strange about her eyes…it’s that weird colored shadow and the way her eyebrows run into the corners of her eyes. And, what a mother!!!!! Enough throwing Nina under the bus. I realize not many like Nina, but whatever pains her is due to the torture she must have endured being borne by that blood-sucker. Lol.
You will not miss much I believe. I went about two weeks without playing catch up and if I was watching I usually missed a lot due to being busy with other things and as sad as it is to say I didn’t miss it. I only tuned back in since it seems Ava and Morgan should have what’s coming to them soon and I’m hoping it leads to Kiki’s exit.
i dont care about this storyline but i believe ava did it. just have the jake/jason storyline to an end. have sam n jason back together. have sam n carly slap liz n give her heck!!!!!!
bite your tongue! no slapping liz around especially by those two hypocrites!, but i know RC wrote it this way so that Liz could become the towns pushing bag, i sure hope the two new writers will have liz do the right thing an tell jake that he’s jason, but i doubt thats the route it will go, more likely you will get your wish, and sam carly, and every self righteous character will get in a line and start pouncing on poor liz.
Liz has always been the biggest hypocrite on the show. She is always right in what she does but when others do the same thing she tells them what a horrible person they are.
How many kids does this woman have by how many fathers? She slept with Lucky’s brother while all the time stringing Lucky along.
Adultery; slept with Zander Smith [Nov 4, 2003]
Stole a police file to protect Jason Morgan and shredded it [Spring 2006]
Impersonated a police officer [Summer 2007]
Perjury; lied about Jake’s true paternity during Jason Morgan’s murder trial [Summer 2007]
Stole a drug to counter the effects of a hallucinogen that a drug dealer injected into Lucky [Jul 2011]
Ran an unauthorized paternity test on the child Britt Westbourne claimed as her own [Feb 2014]
Lying to Jake about his true identity
Knows Nicholas put a hit on Hayden and is ok with that.
Her hypocrisy has nothing to do with the writing of RC, she’s always been a hypocrite. Aside from that, the character is just plain boring.
The wait is over? It hasn’t been that long, no one cares and apparently GH realizes this story from the start has been pointless so they’re putting an end to it. Does it matter who killed Silas? Any one of those characters can leave the show and I’m pretty sure most fans won’t care who.
If most fans wouldn’t care then why is there a petition that has over 13,300 signatures to try and get him back on GH? Biggest mistake GH has made in a long time.
Did i mention anything about NOT caring about michael easton? Dont think so!!
Laura, there is a huge difference between not caring who killed Silas and waning Michael back.
I care that they unceremoniously and unwisely fired him but I couldn’t care less who killed him. I guess I am not alone because after they killed off Silas the ratings plummeted. I have not watched since Silas was killed.
True, Ces. But, I would care if Nina, Franco and Ava were no longer living in Port Charles, LOL.
Seriously, though; I guess it depends who one’s favorite characters/actors are.
Ah, Double Cee, welcome home! If we are lucky maybe Nina bought the knife, Franco sharpened it and Ava used it and all three go bye bye!
@Timmm.
Thank you, my dearest friend. LOL. That is a very tongue-in-cheek scenario. Leave it to you to brighten my day with your unique comments.
I don’t want none of these great actors to go bye bye, Timmm. I love Michelle…always. But, I admit, I enjoy your spin and levity. Sounds like a scene from THE THREE STOOGES.
If we think about it for a sec…..why would Morgan’s bipolar disorder ‘come out’ suddenly? I have been mulling over this. Now, out of the blue, everyone is so concerned about Mo’s mental state and the possibility that HE killed Silas? Could be he did it and doesn’t remember because of his disorder? He gets charged for the murder but escapes jail and ends up in the mental institution instead. Poetic justice????
Thanks again for the welcome, Timmm. Always enjoy ‘exchanging’ with you. Later.
I’m with you Timmm. All three have had way too much airtime, sorry CeeCee, I just can’t handle this group.
Grammar correction: ” I want none of these actors to go bye bye….” NOT ” I don’t want none…..”
Double negative is taboo. My bad, and my iPad, which has a mind of its own. I hope the moderators post this correction….I take use of good grammar seriously. Thanks.
Timmm!!!! I like the way you think….sorry ’bout that, CeeCeeGirl!!!! LOL….
Michael Easton is one of my favorite actors and I was sorry to see him leave GH. I think the killer is either Rick or Madeline. We will see.
TOTALLY AGREE
It’s Madeline. And I’m guessing Rick knows it and is using his position as D.A. to help railroad Franco so that he can’t interfere with their plans to steal Nina’s money.
That, Alan, is the most plausible reasoning. I have said this from the onset…….with soaps, though? Hard to tell. I wish it were either MadMaddie or Rick…of the two, Madeline is most likely to exit, albeit I can’t stand Rick.
Madeline is the most useless and pointless concept since the invention of the Pet Rock. I never realized what a horrible actress Donna Mills is until she arrived in Port Charles, and I will be happy never to see that red eye shadow again.
They put as much effort into his murder story as they did the character of Silas himself. It’s sad to say but after 14 years on ABC he was treated to no story as Silas for the whole past year and a lackluster quick exit that practically screams that RC didn’t even care that Michael was there at all. Very disappointing to this fan. However, there is still the petition to get them to right this wrong:
There is only 4 Days Left with the Petition closing on 8/29 so if you want to Sign and Join the Over 13,000 others who have signed then please do. Every voice counts, every signature matters. Thanks to everyone:
Ill pass!!!
LOL..me too…
Just signed the petition. Thanks for sharing the link Leah! I think Madeline will be Silas’ killer, making it an easy exit from the canvas for Donna Mills.
Thank you for singing the petition….the support means a lot to Michael and all the fans who are fighting to get him back on GH.
I’ll sign a petition to keep him OFF the show. Nice guy, average actor and his character sucked!
I like Michael Easton. Silas was a bore though. I’d like to just move on from all these OLTL characters actually and take Ava & Nina with them.
I disagree, Timm. He’s a good, albeit, understated actor who was never given a chance on General Hospital.
I do agree with you that his character was sadly lacking. Heck, I bet Michael himself would agree with you.
and, it’s nearing 14,000. how cool. Thanks again Leah for bringing this petition to our attention. I signed it twice, 😛
hey Jeremy..
you only signed twice? c’mon!
I signed it 12-13 times!
su0000 – oh su0000…I’m not sure if I believe you, haha-ha. you don’t seem like the petition signing kinda person. ok, I did it twice, because I use 2 different emails, so if you signed it 12-13, do you have that many email accts? lol
I second the “emotion.”!
I liked Michael Easton as John McBain and as Silas when he first came to Port Charles. He had chemistry with Kelly Monaco, Michelle Stafford and Kristen Alderson, but zero with Maura West (love her) and Hayley Erin. He was totally wasted for months and hardly ever seen and we are suppose to care about a murder mystery??? Michael is talented and will find employment elsewhere.
Wait…its too soon to reveal who killed Silas…this is GH so it suppose to drag out for months…then in 2016 its revealed the vampire did it or the ghost of Connie who frames Ava for killing her…we fans need more time to nitpick and bitch and moan about how we hate this story and wish it would end…lol
I can’t remember when I cared less about a murder mystery on a show I watch. In this equation, Silas is the only character I like. Is it possible that they all committed the murder together and they can all go to prison together as well? I would not be upset if every one of them disappeared from my screen forever.
I second that!
I miss Easton already, he and Howarth played well off each other. Madeline will be the killer or Rosalie.
No disrespect to anyone, but why did they kill Silas off for such a quick murder mystery? I’m assuming it has to do with the new writers changing the storyline.
Great actor, poor character development and weak story…what a waste.
PUH-leaze!!! They’ll tell us who it is, but none of the characters will know who done it for at least 8 months. Or maybe one person will find out, but they will be blackmailed into keeping their mouth shut for 8 months…
I just wished the story had been more organic to the canvas. It seems to me this killing Silas was merely a way to advance other plot points rather than be real murder mystery. The only mystery here is why they fired a talent like ME for a story that basically had no legs–everything that came out during the investigation could have come out in other ways. The only twist I would like to see, is finding out it all a dream and Silas is alive and well and living in Paris with Robin–LOL
Right on the mark, Mary…great post.
Michael was let go not fired..
It was rather quickly done and the writers need to jam to write a story for his exit, unexpected for all.
I like the story, it has revealed many thing and opened doors for further stories from it..
O please suooo give me a freakin’ break– there is no difference between being “let go” and being fired. I understand you obsessive need to defend all things GH, but ME was let go because they wanted to kill off his character, not the other way around, And as I said in my post, if you read it properly, was there were a number
of ways for all those interesting reveals to come out without killing the character off– watch Days and see how a proper murder mystery is written, there is no comparison to writing a
sorry press submit by mistake–as I was saying there is no comparison to a proper murder mystery and one done as way to advance other plots. It had it moments yes, but I still think it was a shame they “let go” a talented actor for this sad story line– and Ric being the killer makes it worse, because they just threw another character under the bus by writing him into a corner—that is another actor who will be “let go”– trust me whatever job you are doing, if they let you go–you’ve been fired.
Touche’, MarySF! Why the magnificent Michael Easton had to be sacrificed for this soporific storyline when there was such an abundance of worthless characters who deserved to be murder victims is beyond comprehension. Personally, me thinks that Port Charles needs a serial killer to clear the town of its many abysmal citizens, and I’d start with Sappy first! (Then Nina….Val-Chops…..Kiki….Jordan….Grossalie….and Alexis!)
U N W A T C H A B L E
I ffwded through most of yesterday. Tell me, why isn’t Kiki the least bit pissed off? I can’t stand her.
Kiki is not pissed-off because her character is stupid ..
the Kiki character is absent of much- and her being even upset would ruin the mundane character lol
She was just being Kiki..
Get on with it…
Madeline did it. I miss the original Kiki, this new girl is horrible.
They both suck!
😉
I agree new Kiki is bad bad and bad..
But- Madeline didn’t do it, RC is gonna give us a surprise shocker, most likely.
I am going with Ric did it?? nawww lol
Hi, su. I missed you…did you miss me? LOL. nawww, right?
Well, I do tend to think MadMaddie or Rick did it. Perhaps, working in concert? I think MadMaddie suspected Nina getting too chummy with Silas. She was confiding in him about the crying baby in her head and her hallucinations. Madeline and Rick had a lot to lose…Nina’s patrimony….worth millions. Billions, even? Then again, that’s what we are expected to believe. My money’s on Caleb….another doppelgänger? ‘Silas’ shall return…..
Ric if his contract is up. Other than that, he will continue to work with Sonny and be buddies!
I really enjoyed the courtroom stuff though I got bored with the murder mystery pretty quick. I didn’t like Silas so it isn’t really important to me who killed him. I think Morgan has appeared the most guilty but suspect the murderer is someone who hasn’t even been teased yet. Meh!
Wrap it up and clean it up. Love Donna Mills, but why use her once in a blue moon. No suspense if she is the killer. The 50th anniversary was so fun but in the last year or so, the stories have just been lame. good moments throughout but the forced families, some live/some come back to life inconsistencies, the drawn out Fluke story. Just fix it, please. There is some top talent in Port Charles. Do not waste it on over-the-top silliness.
Donna has been very busy with an internet soap and other stuff..
She is on-call with GH, not a regular..
and-
The top talent/vets have been being used since the Luke exit..
GH since after Fluke/Luke has been vintage RC, good stuff..
the 50th will be archived as a phenomenal soap story ever, as said by reporters.
There is a lot of good with GH, but some people tend to habitually complain only of what they don’t like and never compliment the good.. crazy huh..
So the reporters are the arbiters of what is good or bad GH? HUH? GMAB!
I really WANT it to be KIKI…she needs to go….perhaps she has some of her uncle’s murderous traits in her?
Hope this will be the end for this character….
Morgan did not know Denise was Ava. He did not have enough motive, besides the affair.
I think it was Avas’ mother. Not too many people knew about Ava/Denise. The others are too obvious.
Also,I read somewhere that Ava had changed the paternity to show Sonny was the father and its really Morgan. Bet Avas’ mom knew that too. Will she show up to support Ava?
Ava will get out of this. I love your idea that Morgan is Avery’s daddy, Laurie……just to stick it to Mini-Me. Anybody but Sonny. I would love for his orange chin to drop to the floor in shock. How dare he throw Ava down with a single sweep?! He is the last to huff and puff with disdain. He sits on his tainted “Henry VIII” throne and lords it over Ava? They are two peas in a pod….so alike, it’s sickening.
I am not exculpating Ava, by any means. They both need to go to Tyburn….
I know, I know; the downfall of Sonny, just as Victor Newman, will happen when elephants nest in trees…..or as Gran says; when two Sundays come together.
Who is Ava’s mother?
@Kelly…..That would be Delia Reid Ryan Ryan Crane Coleridge of Ryan’s Hope fame….played by the inimitable Ilene Kristen!!!! (Otherwise known to OLTL fans as “Roxy Balsom”…..)
My money’s on Madeline.
I love New Kiki. Love, love her!! Sorry Haters!!!
sigh.
May we please retire the word “haters” which has been overused as well as it has been misused?
”haters”
aha that it is teenage lingo..(remember when it was ”in” ? lol
reminds me of Valley girl talk/slang..
the ;hater; thing is very old teenage neenerism thing that some have not buried yet LOL ..
Took the words right out of my mouth, Harry. It’s a losing battle.
Never do I use that word. As children, and, there are six of us, we were forbidden to use the word; or else. …..
I do not like this Kiki, but I do not hate the character. Actually, she could be Nina’s, due to her tall, lanky frame.
But, I like Laurie very much. Sooooo…..
FINALLY, I commend a soap for realizing EARLY on this story is a bust, the fans DO NOT care and are pulling the PLUG!
I am huge fan, and I like it 🙂
Yes!
All along I’ve said it is going to be someone expendable and Madeline is and has always been expendable.
I still believe it will be, who it will be, will be a RC surprise shocker..
Not the expected.
heck– it might even be Heather ………. lol naawwww ..
anyways– it is ‘backstabber’ type person..
I have watch General Hospital for 24 years. & I will not give up on it now I’m really praying that the new writers bring fresh new life 2 General Hospital. I’m starting to see Jeanne’s name on the credit. I truly hope that they do mean that they want to get back to core characters we don’t want to lose general hospital with the longest running soap opera so far that we have left. Fingers crossed
Wasn’t really a mystery as to who the killer could be since Nina, Franco, Morgan, and Ava were huge red herrings. That left Madeline and Rick. With Madeline having a penchant for murder and the actress being a pop in/pop out character she seemed like the best bet. Not to mention I’m the type that loves murder mysteries and this one was just horrible TBH. Now that this storyline is over can Jason please find out who he is before marrying Liz.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
