Who will land a Daytime Emmy Pre-Nomination in the Daytime Drama Acting Categories?

Courtesy/ABC

Courtesy/NATAS

The revised Daytime Emmy voting system is in place, and the official voting for the 39th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards got underway last week.   With the new process, 2- minute reels have been selected by each performer,  as an example or excerpt of a their work within the calendar year for consideration for the first phase of getting a shot at the  gold in the six acting categories.  The Pre-Nomination voting will conclude on February 27th and the official announcement of the Pre-Nominees is set by NATAS for March 2nd. Then, the next round of voting begins through March with full submissions by the Pre-Nominees, and the voting through April via Blue Ribbon Panels.  The final nominees for this years awards will be revealed for the first time on May 4th!

So just who is vying for a pre-nom from the Emmy voters? Nelson Branco compiled a list of the six acting categories, in a recent issue of Soap Opera Uncensored.  As you will see, there is some switching of categories from some of the usual suspects, as well as  some very familiar faces, in what looks to be some very hotly contested categories right out of the gate .

After the jump, review the names on the ballot,  and let us know your thoughts on who you think the voters should be seriously considering for a pre-nomination!

Well obviously loving OLTL and heart broken it is no longer on air…. I would hope that there are nominees and winners from OLTL…. I think from OLTL definately Hillary with Eddie Ford, Eddie Alderson for the brain trauma, RSW is just phenom, but I feel JVD will be put up…..

I’m just predujice with OLTL and would love for them to take home alot 🙂

I won’t name names, but some of those are shameful. Ideally Erika Slezak or Susan Lfannery should win lead actress, although Florenica Lozano is a definite darkhoure. Outside of OLTL, last year was not a good one for soaps. H(

Dark horse because she is not well known in soap circles, or?

I see that John Wesley Shipp made the list. I would love to see him win a third Emmy. His portrayal of Crazy Eddie is the reason I started watching OLTL again. However, some of the names do not belong on this list. ONE LIFE’s Andrew Trischitta pouted his way thru the role of Jack Manning. Why Y&R’s Christel Khalile keeps getting noms is beyond me? All she does is whine. cry and speak Valley Speak. B&B’s Jennifer Garies? Huh? Did I miss something here? What has she done that would warrant her getting nominated? Another person I would love to see win is the adorable Patrick Gibbons (Sam, OLTL). This little boy acted circles around some of the adults, even the seasonsed veteran actors. He definitely acted circles around that dreadful Trischitta kid, the pathetic Austin Pecker and that Contessa Williams chick (the girl who played James Ford’s ex).

i agree john wesley ship deserves another emmy. his eddie ford was something to watch allright. and yes some of the names do not belong on the list Andrew Trischitta being one of them. Patricik Gibbons(sam oltl) acted CIRCLES AND RINGS around ALL the younger cast members and hes all of what 7 maybe. The only younger cast member of oltl that was remotely as good as patrick was Kristin alderson and as far as im concerned she dosen’t count because shes been on the show so long she is a seasoned vet and should not be in this category. my favorite is roger howarth. why is he in the supporting catagory. he deserves a nod in the best actor catagory not supporting.

I don’t watch all the soaps, so it’s hard to judge who the nominess might or should be. But it will be a travesty (IMHO) if the following actors are not nominated:

Lead Actress: Kassie dePaiva, Hillary B. Smith and Debbie Morgan

Lead Actor: Robert S. Woods, Anthony Geary and Darnell Williams

Supporting Actress: Ilene Kristen and Genie Francis

Supporting Actor: Roger Howarth (should be lead actor), Jonathan Jackson, Scott Clifton and Dominic Zambrogna

Younger Actress; Lexi Ainsworth and Kristen Alderson

Younger Actor: Chad Duell, Eddie Alderson and Austin William (I’ll add Patrick Gibbons just because I just adore that sweet little boy!)

Chandler Massey certainly deserves an Emmy for an outstanding young actor that he is. Also my favorite…James Scott. He can turn a bad script into gold and is THE best actor ever. I only watch days so can only comment on this soap. I love Ali for best actress and Ari for supporting actress. Matthew Ashford gave a real good performance as a captive in Afghanistan for supporting actor. For younger actress I would have to say Molly Burnett.
Just my thoughts, Michael.

I agree I think Erica Slezak should be in the winners circle. I also like Kassie DePaiva. I love them all from AMC and OLTL and wish they could all win or at least give them recognition for having two of the longest running daytime serials that ended way too soon as they had not run their course yet. We want them back!!! They are missed dearly!!!

I think it would be totally crazy if Trevor St. John didn’t receive a nod. The man was totally awesome. Trevor, Florencia, Kassie, Bree & Melissa Archer were the main reasons why I tuned in so hard….I mean there were others that were amazing too. Let’s not forget about John Paul, Farah & Austin…I watch those rooftop scenes and still cry.

And I’m going on record and saying, if OLTL doesn’t win Outstanding Drama, I will know that the Emmy’s are a complete total joke. I know the show was cancelled, but it outshines all other shows, without a doubt….there was no better show that One Life, last year….

i agree 100%

I read that Trevor St. John no longer submits himself. If this is true, then the omission makes sense. Otherwise, I’m scratching my head.

Shelley Hennig for her reveal scenes with Mark Hapka. She was amazing!!!!

Why is Farah Fath and JPL not on this list? Did every watch the same rooftop scenes as I did? In that 1 episode JPL went from quirky character to leading man. Farah was devastating….I cried my eyes out. This scene was one of my all time top ever of OLTL. It is up there with Karen on the stand, Tina going over the falls, Nora throwing the Todd rape trial, and Todd’s execution. I fully expect Florencia Lozano to be nominated and win.

todd’s execution was excellently played

I hope you are right about Lozano; she really contributed to making OLTL as good as it was.

So when do they air and what time. I would like to watch the day time Emmys.

Tough call– really want actors from AMC & OLTL to get due props for their work, especially now, but no soap is really safe. This could be last daytime emmys & there are many I would like to see recognized. All that participated in the GH intervention episode did great, but that’s my opinion. I think Anthony Geary is still doing some great work, especially this past year. Nathan Parsons deserves a nomination, but Chad Duell and Austin Williams did great work this year! I think Matthew Ashford is doing some of his best work this time around. Other names I would hope to see are Erika Slezak, Laura Wright, Debbi, Crystal C, Vincent I, Michael M, Michael E, Darnell, Steven B, Roger H…

Stephen Nichols! He was so good in the scene where Tucker learns Devon is his son. It’s time he got an Emmy!! The man is such a wonderful actor. He never got an Emmy as Patch and he never even got a nomination as Stefan Cassadine, which is a crime itself. I am keeping my fingers crossed he finally gets a nomination after so long and wins a very well deserved Emmy for Best Actor!

I hope not. I feel it’s a extremely unfair to the younger actors that older ones get a best actor-type award simply because they weren’t recognized in their glory years.

An award for work over -time would be lifetime achievement award or something like that- the daytime Emmy committee should create and hand out that type of honor IF there are actors that were truly overlooked that they want to recognize.

I don’t want him to get it because of his past work. I was just commenting on he should have a string of Emmys already. His work this past year on Y&R has been wonderful and he DESERVES a nomination for his work as Tucker. He can act circles around most of the younger actors.

I hope Stephen Nichols wins as well! Y&R has always been my show. I’m not even all that familiar with his past work. I love him as Tucker! He is such a talented actor and deserves at least a nomination, and I really hope he wins. His performances after Tucker woke up from the coma, after Katherine humiliated him in court, when he admitted the truth about Diane to Ashley, when he asked Abby if she meant to kill him when she ran him over with her car, and especially the moment he realized Devon was his son, those performances were all brilliant. He more than deserves to be honored, as Tucker!

Whoa, I had to read these comments twice. A tad surprised by the excitement because I haven’t felt any of it. I’ve watched Y&R for about 25 years, and while I’m sure the actor is extremely talented, I feel Tucker (the character) sorta of a dud (so far.) He’s too harsh with Mrs C and boring with Ashley. I even fast-forward him some now. Maybe that will change with the addition of Harmony, but I haven’t seen her or Devon perk him up yet.

Well, I just guess it’s who you like and your perception of who is as a good actor. I have watched the show off and on for over 25 years and I think he brings good acting and his character new storylines for many of the veteran cast. Jeanne Cooper has had some really great stuff with Stephen as well as Eileen and Marcy. The scenes with Jess are good too, I just wish there were more of them. If you FF through scenes you may be missing some of the best stuff. 🙂

Trevor St. John.
Roger Howarth who?
Trevor ORIGINATED the role of Todd. Roger Howarth is the GOOD replacement! LOL

i dont know who gave you the impression that trevor st john originated the role of todd manning but roger howarth is the ORIGINAL ACTOR WHO CREATED THE ROLE OF TODD. Trevor st john was a replacement in 2003 when Roger Howarth wanted to vacate the role.

I get the impression that the OP knows this.

shes kidding sheri ,arent you 1loveabcsoaps?alexa ,whos op?

Sorry. Original poster.

Oh, and I only commented on the person’s post because I wasn’t sure I understood what he was saying. When you can’t really be certain what the person means, then it’s problematic. I’m not asking for perfect grammar or spelling, simply understanding.

Chandler Massey is AMAZING and definitely deserves to win! Rooting for James Scott and Ali Sweeney as well!

one life to live kept me coming back for more, even the mediocre story lines were delivered with a professionalism. this group of people deserve top honors for their craft…i really enjoyed them daily.

It would serve ABC if OLTL/AMC cleaned up at the emmy’s. OLTL should get show of the year, that would really have ABC execs choking on their breakfast. SWAN LONG LIVE #OLTL #AMC

“Serve ABC right”

100% agree i hope oltl and amc sweep the emmys and execs choke on their breakfast. Long live #oltl #amc. DOWN WITH THE HOUSE OF MOUSE!

Especially in light of last year’s fiasco of an omission, if Florencia Lozano does not win the Lead Actress category, there is no point in even trying to fix these awards, as they will be broken beyond any repair.

Kristen Alderson over Kelley Missal? The first has only gotten worse, and the latter has improved beyond the talent the former ever had (as a child – I don’t know what has happened to her in the last 5-6 years) in just a few years. Shenell Edmonds has also improved, but again, not to the point of deserving a nomination. KM held her own with Florencia Lozano and Trevor St. John, which very few of the celebrated adult actors have been able to do (many of whom were listed, but I shall refrain from commenting on their lack of talent and/or commitment, specifically).

Also, while Andrew Trischitta has improved, he’s not at the point at which he deserves a nomination, much like the adorable and sweet Patrick J. Gibbons and Austin Williams.

I would love to see Trevor St. John get a very deserved nod, but I read that he no longer submits himself. Assuming that is correct, I am not surprised about his omission.

I don’t watch Y&R, but Debbi Morgan has so much talent.

Eddie Alderson is by far the most talented among the younger males on OLTL (much like Kelley Missal is among the female young actresses), and I don’t understand why David Gregory was even cast, let alone listed, although he seems like a very genuine and nice person.

I completely agree with your assessment of OLTL cast.

It going to be interesting. Erika did not summit the “2 minute reel” from Viki 40th episode but from where she catches Echo and Charlie in bed…Florince two minutes is from where Tea rips into Todd when he shows up at Victor Funeral. Kassie summited Blair confronts Jack and demands he is sorry for bullying Shane nearing leading to sucide. Hillary b smitt summited matthrew grabbing nora hand,

For supporting Irene summited the screen where Roxy begs Clint to say Fratery Row, not sure about other OLTL’s but Bree’s reel is supposely strong (I’m guess telling Nat she not her sister and ripping off the neckless, but we see), Not sure about the other reels. By the way Evens was going to summit herself and the court screen where she gives up the move but forgot about the deadline. She would of likely be the frontrunner if she did.

Younger Actress: No info on any reels for OLTL’s

Younger Actor Eddie Alderson summited screen from the confession episode where he tells Clint at the hotel how he killed eddie. Austin Williams summited something about the sucided or leading up to the attempt.

Supporting Actor: Roger summited screens option TJS. No word on what Mark or John summited

Lead Actor: Jerry Ver Doran summited some bo and clint screen. Michael Emerson summited John finding out that Liam was “not his”, no word on Robert S Woods

I really don’t mean to be rude, but it’s hard to gauge how accurate what you are saying is, considering you haven’t spelled most individuals’ names correctly, nor have you used even casual grammar.

are you closely related to vincent hanna, did I spell my words right ?and god forbid if my grammar sucks.

Some days info

Hall summited talking with Will about Will problems. Sweeney summited ripping into Rafe over Johnny missing. Scott the screens before ejami sex. Matt the therapy session where Jack talks about being held in prison.

BB Lead Actress: Heather toms summited Katie finding out Bill nearly slept with Steffy, KKL summited Brooke telling Thomas she cannot trust him after finding out he lied about island sex, Susan Flanney summited a screen talkign about bev being a foster kid. Only other info from BB reels is that John McCook summited screens with Eric talking about how he is hurt because he does not feel Stephine desire him anymore

Crystal Chappell should get Lead Actress, She nailed the drug addiction story line!
She took crappy writing and made it worthwhile to watch!

I always thought her name was Ilene Kirsten – my bad.

Lead Actor SF from Bold always gets nommed but ES from OLTL should get it imo

Lead Actor I like RSW, ME and JvD from OLTL (yes I’m prejudiced)

Supporting Actress – Melissa Archer always makes the show more exciting! I want to pick the actress that portrayed Allison Stewart – she was phenominal!

Supporting Actor – definitely RH – he brought some life back into the character of Todd again for me, plus JWS.

Prenoms should be…
Lead Actress – Erica Slezak, Florenzia Lozano, Laura Wright, Michelle Stafford, Hillary B. Smith, Susan Flannery, and Melody Scott Thomas
Lead Actor – Tony Geary, a write in for TSJ, Robert Woods, Jerry Ver Dorn, and Steve Burton
Sup Actress – Kimberly McCullough, Melissa Archer, Bree Williamson, Genie Francis, and Ilene Kristen
Sup Actor – Jonathan Jackson, Billy Miller, Bradford Anderson, Jason Thompson, and Roger Howarth
Younger Actress – Kirsten Alderson, Kirsten Alderson, Kirsten Alderson, Camilla Banus, and Jackie MacInnes Wood
Younger Actor – Chandler Massey, Austin Williams, Eddie Alderson, Chad Duell, Nathan Parsons, and Patrick Gibbons Jr because he steals every scene and is such a perfectly cute little TSJ!
Of course the first listed in each category are my winner picks! Best of luck to all!

Florencia should win, but I have no faith in the voters since she wasn’t even pre-nominated last year…hopefully the new system will actually work and result in the best being nominated. Other than that Erica Slezak had a great year too. Kassie and Hillary had great moments but not a great year like the other two. I also think Crystal Chappell and Debbi Morgan should get nominated. As for the lead actors no one really stands out to me as having a really great year…I guess Tony Geary would be my #1 choice. Supporting: Ilene Kristen or Kimberly McCullough & Jonathon Jackson, Jason Thompson or Roger Howarth.

ok if any of these idiots really watched the soaps ,one life to live would get an emmy for all the categories ,but most of all erika slezak ,because she is the best, and my favorite.and its not right that she cant get one more emmy to add to her 6,that she already has.my second kassie depava, there are so many that deserve the emmy, but the writing ,hands down best writing, best soap.I hope that our soaps win ,and abc will choke on the way to the revolution while they hand out 30 dollars to all the idiots they have to beg to come on in and see there crappy show they killed one life to live for.I wonder if the chew and the revolution will pick up any emmys?I dont think so.the first em ail I opened up today was from abc ,I sent them a late e mail last night.telling them that there daytime line up,has some of the worst crap abc has ever had in there programing.and there is no way I will ever watch there network ,as i have done for almost 49 years.just keep annoying abc e mail ,hand written letters ,call them ,join all the places at facebook, and stop watching abc, only watch general hospital,it needs all the help it can get ,its 4th out of the 4 soaps .thats bad.

Barbara t: Are you on the East Coast or West Coast? BC sometimes when U post, I am on BUT dont see your post and come back 10 minutes later and THEN there is a post from you 3 or 4 hours prior, and Im like, ” How is that, I was just on this page!”
Ooops, I just remembered reading, U said U were at the abc studios protesting…. lol

I m on the east coast .in florida freezing my ass off ,I am from outside of buffalo ny.like to go back some day.I think michaels timer is off ,because I will look at when I post and its never right, its always off.would like to know the right time ,only thing I can think of is where michaels sight is, ,Im only guessing here ,but 2 to 3 hours away from me ,dont ask me how I came up with that idea,Im just guessing.I have no clue what I am talking about ,but the times are messed up.

What has Erika Sleazak done that is Emmy-worthy lately? She seems to call in in about 75% of the time in the last several years. I mean, when she’s paying attention, she’s okay, but I don’t see why she is so revered.

Hello Alexa. Did you see the 40th Anniversary Show in 2011 ? Erika Slezak was Viki in the Courtroom Trying to get Custody of Jessica’s Baby. Then, Niki came out and Niki was in the Courtroom. Niki put Viki in A Warehouse. Then, Niki got the Key and wouldn’t let Viki out of the Warehouse. Jean wouldn’t make Niki give the Key to Viki and Jean was in the Courtroom. The Judge couldn’t get over how Jean did not love the Child. It was Phenomenal how Erika kept going back and forth between Viki and Niki and Jean. That is why I want Erika Slezak to Win Another Daytime Emmy. Jody

Oh I dont know, maybe because she can act ,and she is very good actress, there are several if you read the rest of my post ,I like pretty much all the actors on one life to live, erika slezak stands out for me because she is the heartbeat of landview,if you dont think so,thats your choice, but dont leave your post at my post telling me who I should like or dislike ,thats not your place Im here to make comments and discuss the soaps like grownups here not have some one down me for who I like ,so if you want to argue with me forget it go find someplace else to draw blood ,and from all the posts you leave ,you dont seem to be a very nice person ,your like the bully in the playground.

You may like whomever you wish. I was asking a question for part of it. Also, I’m not allowed to reply? Thanks for letting me know.

of course you are allowed to reply, when you dont make me feel like an ass because of who I like or dislike ,discussions are fine.if you dont like erika slezak thats fine with me .I read your posts ,you didnt read mine I like every character on one life to live ,including all the ones you choose to win a emmy ,I watched one life to live for43 and a half years, and for 40 years I have watched and enjoy ed anything erika slezak has done.and Im not the only one here who thinks she is a dam good actress, and I would love to see her get emmy number 7 ,just to shove it down abc s greedy throat.peace.

Actually, I was hoping to spur a conversation, not make you feel like an ass. I was hoping for a rejoinder to what I had posited rather than a personal insult, but I’m learning that no one wants discussion online.
Yes, I believe I have read your posts.

ACTOR: D Williams, RS Woods, A Geary, J Scott, J ver Dorn
ACTRESS: S Flannery, Flozano, D Morgan, E Slezak, C Chappell, (maybe MT Scott or maybe S Lucci)
SUPP ACTOR: ME Knight, J Jackson, JW Shipp, B Miller, R Howarth
SUPP ACTRESS: I Kristen, G Francis, B Herbst, L Hartley, M Archer
YOUNGER ACTOR: C Massey, A Williams, C Duell, (maybe K Schmidt)
YOUNGER ACTRESS: L Ainsworth, K Alderson, J MacInnes-Wood

SHOW: One Life to Live, General Hospital, Days of Our Lives

Definetly Julie Marie Berman for Supporting actress and Tony Geary for lead actor and Dominic Zamprogna definetly deserves his first emmy. Lead actress Laura Wright- she definetly deserves another emmy. As for younger supporting actor Chad Duell has done amazing acting. Younger actress: Lexi Ainsworth

I love how most fans pick they’re favorites because he or she is cute but can’t act. LOL

Lead Actress – Debbi Morgan (AMC, Y&R) who I think got rob last year should definitely win this year. Finding out the her baby died, those scenes from both her and Darnell Williams were some of the best acting I’ve seen in a long time, bravo guys you both did some excellent acting. And can someone please explain to me why Laura Wright won because I just didn’t see anything to warrant her Emmy.

Lead Actor & Supporting Actor – Anthony Geary & Jonathan Jackson (GH) both are great actors alone but when we’ve been lucky enough to get them in the same scene we get superb acting, riveting and believable scenes, I just can’t say enough great things about both actors. Can someone share with me what the criteria is for a nomination in the lead actor category because Jon’s acting is beyond most the the actors on that list?
When Lucky finds out that Luke was the driver of the car that hit and killed his son, the confrontation scenes in the bar were some intense and riveting scenes bravo to both of you, you’re the best father/son team ever.

Supporting Actress – Gina Tognoni (OLTL) or Genie Francis (Y&R). Genie because everything she touches turns to gold, she is by far one of thee elite actresses and I for one have been over the moon since her return to daytime TV. Gina because her excellent acting finding Victor dead in their living room was superb, she has been ignored for far too long and deserve to win.

Do you mean Florencia Lozano? Gina Tognoni was Kelly Cramer. FL was Téa Delgado.

yeah your right Alexa that’s who I meant Florencia Lozano but she not up for supporting actress so oops LOL I guess Genie is my sole pick for supporting actress then.

Gina found Victor dead in their living room? Something doesn’t sound right here. Was it Victor or someone else?

But what I don’t understand is how Florencia Lozano could be perceived as supporting actress…

you have a point there ,there are a few actresses on one life to live who are leading actresses ,florencia, erika, kassie robin,am I missing anyone?but the one who should get it is florencia lozano ,she had me in tears several times during the todd 1 and 2 stories, victors death ,there are quite a few of stand out scenes with her,she is a favorite of mine ,loved it when she came back to landview ,well she has my vote, but I still love erika slezak.

That’s pretty neat that Debbi Morgan is nominated in two different categories for two different role from two different shows.

KATHERINE KELLY LANG from B&B is the BEST ACTRESS AND SHE DESERVES THE EMMY! GO KKL.

Early word is that Erika (Catching Echo and Charlie in bed together), Florince, Heather Toms (Finding out Bill almost slept with Steffy, Lucci (Erica talking about wanting a drink, KKL (Telling Thomas she can’t trust him anymore for lying and Debbie Morgan (Jessie telling her the baby died( are the standout base on the reels they summited for lead actress with usuall favorites Flanney, Wright, Scott ( who did not summit the I’m a drunk screen) and Michelle are summited weaker reels and opening the door for newcomers.

In Leads buzz is strong for of close Geary (Invetion), Williams (Baby being stillborn), Scott (screens leading up to ejami sex), Michael Mulalney (Adam ripping anyone at Sharon’s Funeral), Steve Burton (Carly and Jason on the roof after where she askes about Jake being use to save her baby) Michael Emerson (John Finding out that liam was not his) and John McCook (Eric talking about how he feels that Stephanie does not desire him anymore) Meaning looks like Jerry Ver Doran depsite what should be frontrunner status did not summit his best work according to Nelson.

Hello Paul. The Actor that Plays John McBain is Named Michael Easton. I think there is A Michael Emerson or there is An Actor that has the Last Name of Emerson that is on Night Time TV. He was in Several Episodes of The Practice and I think Lost and he I think was on Law And Order. Jody

I’m rootin’ for Kassie but would be thrilled with anyone from OLTL. For best supporting actress – Ilene Kristen. I watch other soaps but if someone asked me who would you really like to meet from Y & R? No clue. Ask the same question from OLTL I have a ton of answers. Kassie feels like a niece. I would love to go drinking with Ilene Kristen (I don’t drink so I could do the driving). I just love them all they are like family! Wish ABC would smartin up and bring them back! It’s no shame to be wrong! Get the guy off with the crocs and the weird lady with the glasses. They will never be family much less ever watch them. Barbara PS My husband said to say he whole heartily agrees!

Without a doubt, Trevor St. John needs to be written in to the field of actors. As always, he was superb this year-right to the very last scene of One Life To Live. This should be Kristen Alderson’s year, too, she was always exceptional.

cc off lead actress list are u a nut job

Yes, some who know me would say I am a ‘nutjob’, however, I was not all that thrilled with Crystal Chapelle’s return to Days. I was looking forward to seeing her come back, but for me, it just didn’t work. The drug addiction story was just a way to get her off the show when Days did their big clean-out, and it became tiresome. She seemed to be nothing like the old Carly, and I was very disappointed. Alison Sweeney never disappoints-even when she’s ticking me off, I enjoy her. Florencia and Kassie put in great performances for their last year on OLTL. The other 2, I must admit were just speculation on my part, knowing their acting in the past. Without a couple from other shows, I would have all OLTL and Days actress and actors. The only real omission (and, perhaps by his own doing) is Trevor St. John-he should not just be nominated, he should win! But thanks for the concern for my mental health 🙂

i am hearing u but cc had one of the worst scrip i had seen on daytime in a long time and she made u feel some as for st john there is no reason he should not be on the list of lead actor and made sad sorry about the nut job it not me it my brain

Yes Crystal Chappell return to Days was not so hot and her stories were not own par with her acting ability, she gave good performances inspite of the medicore story , she deserves a nod. Don’t. Blame. Crystal , because the writers didn’t get her character.

A PRE- nomination? Weren’t there around 14 or so PRE-Nominated for each category in past years? OMG look at best actor- only 16 male actors submitted. LOL

Maybe the question should be, what 2 actors should NOT be pre-nominated? Seriously, it would be silly to PRE-nominate 14 actors out of 16. The committee needs to slim down the pre-nominees to reflect the fact that it’s not nearly as competitive as it used to be.

Farah Fath and John-Paul Lavoisier should be on the list.

I can’t tell whether you are serious or are joking.

I cant tell if you are either,I think there joking ,then again maybe they are serious, either way ,its siteadvocates choice,Did I spell all my words right?

I only have eyes for OLTL, and I want people to win who have never won before, but naturally, all past OLTL winners were wonderful and deserve to be included.

Actress: Lozano (should win), DePaiva (should have won in the past, consistently good for years).
Actor: Ver Dorn. Where is Trevor St John’s name?!
Sup Actress: Kristen, Williamson, Archer.
Sup Actor: Lawson.
Young Actress: Where is Kelley Missal’s name?!
Young Actor: All of the OLTL males in this category have improved over time (Gregory, Williams, Trischitta), but Alderson has been consistently good the longest. Gibbons is so irresistibly cute he must be included (I cannot be objective about him).

I so agree with your picks-Florencia should win and Kassie should have won several times in the past. TREVOR ST. JOHN, TREVOR ST. JOHN, TREVOR ST. JOHN!!!!!!! The Alderson sibling have been wonderful for years, but always overlooked-travesty!!!!

John Wesley Shipp – best choice for supporting actor, although I do love Billy Miller
Debbi Morgan should be nominated in the lead category for AMC, not in supporting for Y&R
Stacy Haiduk should get the supporting actress nod for Y&R this year

I don’t think Susan Lucci or Jeanne Cooper should be on there. I think Erika Slezak should win for her Alters in the Courtroom even if that wasn’t Submitted. Then, I would take Debbi Morgan for All My Children learning that her Child was not her Child and in the Park. Then, I would Take Florencia. However, They will probably Take Susan Flannery. They will probably Take Anthony Geary for the Intervention. However, I would have Darnell for when the Baby was Stillborn and having to Tell Angie that Their Child is not Their Child and even Watching Angie in the Park. I would have Jerry Van Dorn and Robert Woods was pretty good as Bo. I don’t think Jake should be Lead Actor and Tad Supporting Actor. I don’t even think Jake is that Good. Where is Jacob Young ? I would Take Shane and Matthew. I don’t think Roger Howarth should be on there. I thought he was Too Cutesy. I think they should at least Write in Trevor St. John. They probably will have Jonathan Jackson for Supporting Actor. Jody

John W. Shipp . OLTO L. His one shot deal , proved to be the bad guy that everyone loved and his time on the show was way too short. Really .

for me the the lead actress win is between c chappell from(days)and depaiva from(oltl)hands down they had agood acting year

I agree with you both of these ladies were on the top her game and love the characters of Carly Manning and Blair Cramer.

Happy to see a good list for pre-nominations but where is ERIC BRAEDEN for Lead Actor……Very happy to see MTS for Lead Actress and where is Elizabeth Hendrickson for Supporting Actress. List for B&B and DAYS are excellent!!!!!

OLTL WIN SOAP OF THE YEAR

gee I hope the Daytime Emmys are not going to be broadcast on ABC this year! That would mess with our boycott! Want to show good ratings for it to show we do support daytime dramas, but don’t want to give credit to ABC-Dorks in charge!

YAY!!! John Wesley Shipp is on the list for supporting actor. Not since Sheila Carter and Roger Thorpe have I enjoyed a soap troublemaker as much as I enjoyed Eddie Ford. That does not take away from his four other soap roles. I happen to meet him and David Gregory (Bobby Ford) on Veterans Day, when they taped the ‘HELL’ scenes on ONE LIFE. They both are Facebook friends and nice guys in person. David should have been on that list as well. I would love to see JWS win his third Emmy. Some of the actors on the Younger Actor leave a lot to be desired, The Trischitta kid who played OLTL’s Jack? Really. My least favorite actress Christel Khalil (Lily, Y&R) cannot act her way out of a paper bag.

I Hope everyone From One Life To Live That Gets A Nominee Wins. Everyone On That Show Deserves It And More. Love You Guys For Ever. One Life To Live Was The Best Soap And I Pray Someone Will Bring It Back

It would be great to see One Life to LIve sweep the awards, wouldn’t it? It would be deserved.

I wish we could have OLTL back; I only wish it were possible.

ditto. One Life to Live sweeping the awards would be great and the ABC-Dorks would have egg on their faces — again!

If I had to pick my faves to win, from OLTL of course….LOL They would be the following:

Lead Actress: Florencia
Lead Actor: Trevor St. John or Jerry Ver Don (Think they are both spectacular)
Supporting Actress: Going out on a limb and saying Farah Fath. (Those rooftop scenes still make me cry, and I think she is highly underrated.) But I also think Bree Williamson has been overlooked too long, as well as Melissa Archer. Then there’s Kassie De Paiva. OMG this is tough.
Supporting Actor: This is a tough one…but John Paul, Michael Easton or Mark Lawson. (They all equally did a great job this past year.)
Younger Actress: Kristen Alderson or Kelly Misal
Younger Actor: Austin Williams….HANDS DOWN!
Writng: OLTL
Best Show: OLTL

I know I chose multiple people for categories, but that’s because the competition was extremely tough. OLTL was so spectacular that it was just impossible to pick just one. But I will tell you this, it should be a OLTL clean sweep at the Emmy’s because the show was just that damn good! ABC should be ashamed of themselves for canceling this crown jewel.

Leading Actress : Katherine Kelly Lang (She is rocking her scenes since 1987)
Young Actress: Kimberly Matula (She is like a true star, wonderful acting)
Young Actor: Adam Gregory. (He is the king of young generation in acting. He is PERFECT as Thomas)

My predictions for daytime emmys awards and who deserves a nomination. My choice for the emmys. Lead Actress: Debbi Morgan , AMC , Heather Tom , B&B. Alison Sweeney Days Crystal Chappell Days. Florencia Lozano OLTL. Hilary B. Smith OLTL. Kelly Monaco GH. Melody Scott Thomas Y&R. Jeanne Cooper Y&R. Dark Horse: Kassie. Depavia. … Stay continue for my other predictions.

hope there is a place we can watch it,and its not in las vegas, and I hope that one life to live is nominated for several awards ,including best soap ,actor, actress ,all my children and one life to live are always ignored.

Lead Actress: Katherine Kelly Land B&B
Lead Actor :Don Diamont B&B

Younger Actress : Kim Matula B&B
Younger Actor: Adam Gregory B&B
..

My picks for Lead actor are James Scott Days. Michael Muhney Y&R. Galen Gering Days. Steve Burton GH. Don Diamont B&B Vincent Irizarry Amc. Robert S. Woods OLTL Maurice Bernard GH

My picks for supporting actresses are. Arianne Zucker Days. Kelly Sullivan GH. Missy claire Egan AMC. Nadia Bjorlin Days. Bree Williamson. OLTL. Nancy Lee Grahn GH Rebecca Budig AMC. Alley Mills B&B. And juile marie Berman GH

Carol Burnett Talks About Being a Superfan of ‘All My Children’ on ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’

In a heartfelt reunion, of sorts, the one and only Carol Burnett appeared on Monday March 25th episode of Live with Kelly and Mark.

Burnett had first met Kelly Ripa (Hayley) and Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo) back when they all appeared on All My Children together. Carol played Verla Grubbs first in 1983 and then again in the 90’s.

Host Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, AMC) noted to Burnett that “we go back a long time”. She also described Burnett’s character of Verla Grubbs, “extraordinary in every way.”

Carol’s love for All My Children is well-documented, hence legendary soap creator, Agnes Nixon, created the role of Verla for Burnett.

Speaking on how her passion for All My Children began, Carol told Kelly and Mark, “It started with my kids. They would watch at noon. I said, ‘What are you guys doing?’ I sat down and I started to watch and I got hooked!”

When Carol’s family decided to travel through Europe during one summer, the comedic legend recalled thinking, “How am I going to last if I don’t know what’s going on in Pine Valley?” She revealed she had a friend, “who sent me a telegram to the (different hotels) on Fridays to bring me up to date.”

In a hilarious moment from the segment, Carol recalled receiving a late night telegram while in Lake Cuomo when there was a knock at her hotel room door from the hotel manager who was shaking.

Carol related what it said, “Erica is still in a coma. Mark slipped again and ran away from rehab.” As Kelly and Mark broke into laughter, Burnett continued, “Chuck has learned that Donna is carrying his baby, who was once a hooker.”

Check out Carol explaining how she became an AMC Superfan below.

Malachy McCourt, ‘Ryan’s Hope’ and ‘All My Children’ Actor, Dead at 92

If you watched Ryan’s Hope through its 14-year-run, you know that Kevin the bartender became a beloved “member’ of the Ryan clan on the defunct ABC daytime drama series. The character of Kevin MacGuiness became so loved by the fans because of the actor who portrayed him, Malachy McCourt.

Sadly, according to his wife Diana McCourt to The New York Times, Malachy passed away on Monday from a heart condition and battling cancer. The actor was 92-years-old.

Playing Kevin on Ryan’s Hope was not much of a stretch for McCourt, because in his lifetime, he was the owner of 1950s Irish pub Malachy’s on Third Avenue in Manhattan. Known as one of the city’s great story-tellers, patrons from longshoremen to the actor Richard Harris would stop in and talk all things Irish with . On Ryan’s Hope, Kevin was best friends to “Ryan’s Bar” owner, Johnny Ryan (Bernie Barrow) and he tried to keep Delia (Ilene Kristen) on the straight and narrow.

In his soap opera career, McCourt also was widely-known for his role of Father Clarence McCourt on All My Children especially come Christmastime. Was Clarence, actually St. Nick? That was always the proverbial question. McCourt also appeared on the New York soaps: One Life To Live, Search For Tomorrow and Another World. Other roles included: Devil’s Own, Brewster’s Millions, The Molly Maguires, and Starman, to name

Later in 2006, Malachy ran for governor of the state of New York as a Green Party candidate. He tackled social issues of the time including being an advocate for gay and lesbian groups to march in the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

McCourt’s childhood was recounted within his brother Frank McCourt’s Pulitzer Prize-winning memoir Angela’s Ashes, which detailed their mother’s attempt to raise the four of their surviving seven children in poverty in Limerick, Ireland. Later, Malachy wrote his own memoirs: 1998’s Monk Swimming, and 2000’s Singing My Him Song.

Malachy is survived by his aforementioned wife, Diana, daughter Siobhan McCourt; sons Malachy Jr., Conor and Cormac; stepdaughter Nina Galin; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
