Who will win the GLAAD Media Award tonight… OLTL's Kish?

In what could be a monumental mess, One Life to Live is nominated tonight for a GLAAD Media Award which is being presented in ceremonies in New York.  One Life’s head writer, Ron Carlivati and Brett Claywell (Kyle) are slated to appear. The series is up against other same-sex storylines from GL, AMC, and ATWT in The Outstanding Drama Series category. It would appear that Kish, who has been the gay-media darling over the last several months would be the top contender.

Yesterday in TV Guide Canada’s Suds Report, Nelson Branco mentioned he had spoken to GLAAD President, Jarret Barrios who stated, “The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) today advocated for continuation of the storyline of characters Kyle and Fish on One Life and spoke out on the importance of bringing fair and accurate media images of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people to Americans. When news reports broke yesterday, GLAAD spoke to ABC Daytime to voice concerns over the cancellation and advocate that the storyline continue. We remain disappointed that ABC Daytime has chosen to stop sharing this powerful story with viewers of One Life. GLAAD will continue to advocate that in the near future, producers and writers at ABC Daytime incorporate gay and transgender characters in their programming.”  In the same piece, Branco shared his conspiracy theories as to why the rug was pulled out from underneath the audience and Kish. Very interesting.

So who do you think should take home the prize tonight for most accurately portraying gays on the soaps?  Comment here and let us know!

I’d still be going for Guiding Light..besides featuring Natalia and Olivia, they had one of their long time characters, Doris, come out as a closeted Lesbian..and were fun enough to pick up on the gay vibes between Cyrus and Remy and were good naturedly fooling around with those.. Maybe it’s not about who portrayed LGBT lifestyles the best..right now it seems to be more of a “How well did you manage to do in spite of your network policy?” So each network should get allotted scores, which then should be added onto the gay positive storylines.Like racing horses are sometimes… Read more »

I hated GL’s gay storyline with Olivia. After all the men Olivia has had, I found the whole idea of making her a lesbian ridiculous. I loved the Kish stoyline. They are the most beautiful and sincere couple on a soap—–gay or otherwise.

Stacy Keibler to be Inducted Into WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2023

With Wrestlemania 39 weekend in Los Angeles fast approaching, a fourth inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame has been announced.

As many had predicted, Stacy Keibler will join Rey Mysterio Jr., The Great Muta and Andy Kaufman as the class of 2023.  The induction ceremonies take place on Friday night and stream on Peacock beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

Keibler (age 43), the now mom of three, was shocked and emotional upon learning she was being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.  When speaking with PEOPLE, who broke the news of Kiebler’s induction, Stacy expressed that she found out from an unexpected call from a WWE rep two weeks ago, while she was in her kitchen.

“When she told me, I screamed,” Stacy shared. “Tears were in my eyes, and I was completely overwhelmed with just gratefulness.”

As for how she made her way into pro wrestling, Stacy first made her mark after winning a contest to become a member of the WCW Monday Night Nitro, ‘Nitro Girls’ dance troupe.

A self-admitted long-time wrestling fan, Keibler first made her mark when she became an ‘accountant and manager’ in WCW named ‘Miss Hancock’.   When Vince McMahon purchased WCW, Keibler headed to WWE and in 2001 made her debut as part of The Alliance.

Later, Stacy was renamed as ‘The Duchess of Dudlyville” and managed The Dudley Boyz.  Still later, she managed Test, Scott Steiner, and then came Rosey and The Hurricane, where she became ‘Super Stacy” along with the superhero duo. Throughout her WWE career, she had shared memorable matches against Torrie Wilson and Sable.

Since exiting the WWE in 2006, Keibler has appeared on numerous TV shows including: competing for the Mirror Ball Trophy on Dancing with the Stars and a guest-spot on How I Met Your Mother.
