After the upcoming October 29th false start where Lucas walks in on his son, Will, and his boyfriend, Sonny in an intimate moment, and has a bit of a freak out of what he sees, the guys finally have their day!  According to TV Guide, the long awaited Will and Sonny sex scene will happen on the November 14th airshow of Days of our Lives!

Chandler Massey (Will) and Freddie Smith (Sonny) shared their thoughts and views on the love scene, especially how long it took for this scene to occur, the importance of this step in cementing that this is a couple to root for, and if there was any nervousness during the filming.   Here are a few excerpts from the guys conversation with TVG below!  Then, check out the preview clip of Will and Sonny’s sex scene!

Freddie Smith commented on the time it has taken for Will and Sonny to get-together: “It’s allowed the audience to get to know our characters and to get to a place where they are really rooting for them to get together. I don’t expect anyone will think the sex scene is controversial. Hopefully, we’re past that. This isn’t a story about two gay guys. It’s about two human beings who truly love each other.”

Daytime Emmy winner, Chandler Massey stated: “It’s refreshing to have a couple in soaps who haven’t been thrown together too quickly. We took our time before getting to the sex and the characters and the show are better for it. But (laughs) I will also say that it’s about time!”

On the sex scene itself, Smith revealed: “Chandler and I were much more nervous about our first kissing scene. Our hearts were really pounding during that one but it worked out great because our characters’ hearts were pounding, too. Since then Will and Sonny have done enough flirting and kissing and cuddling that, as actors, we weren’t nervous about finally getting to the sex. The way we shot it is very real and passionate but tasteful. Chandler and I are comfortable with each other and it shows. We have good chemistry. We trust each other.”

Massey weighed in on where the couple will go from here:  “Consummating the relationship will make them bond in a much more intimate way.  I guess this finally makes them an official couple to the people of Salem and it will be no big deal. Everyone is going to recognize it and accept it. Yes, even Lucas!”

After the jump, check out a preview clip of  Will and Sonny’s intimate encounter! Then let us know what you think of it!

Mucho caliente!! Is this in Sami’s living room?

They should just head over to Dimera mansion. The Dimera sofa that EJ seems to like so much has seen quite a bit of hot action over the years.

haha! somewhere other than Sami’s house – geez, anyone could just drop in that place! How about a hotel 😀

It’s not in Sami’s house. It’s in either Will or Sonny’s apartment.

Saw that it was Sonny’s yesterday; glad about that 🙂 All those sets look exactly alike, Rafe’s, Sami’s, EJ’s and now Sonny’s!

This crap need to off the air this not cool showing to males kissing n sleeping together.take it off, take it off I have no problem with gays but this should not be shown on national TV.

Lenita, then don’t watch! Homophobes like you why we have these issues in society. I don’t think half the stuff shown on television should be shown, so two men making love for the first time is hardly a problem. Take your hate elsewhere.

Yeh

I happen to be a supporter of LGBTQ rights and my best friend is gay we watch this show and love it. you dont se him gay people complaining when straight couples kiss and have sex on tv. so don’t go making homophobic remarks like that 🙁

Lenita, clearly you DO have a problem with Gays…why else would you equate them with what you consider “crap”. If you don’t have a problem with them why would it bother you to see them on tv? It’s hard to believe in this day and age( 2014) narrow minded comments like this are still being said…it makes me really sad.

Boys will be boys.

wherethebearsare.tv!

Gorgeous scene……it’s a shame ATWT screwed up the most breathtaking union in Daytime history……Luke and Reid. How Van was cheated out of not one,but three Emmys is beyond me.

Luke & Reid? NO THANK YOU! Luke and Noah were the most beautiful same sex couple in daytime TV. Let’s hope DOOL doesn’t sabotage Will & Sonny’s relationship the way the producers and writers of ATWT did to Van & Jake’s characters.

Luke and Reid? In your dreams. Luke and Noah was the best gay couple on daytime tv. They were a gorgeous couple with amazing chemistry that routinely got screwed over by tptb at ATWT. I don’t watch DAYS but I’m happy to see Will and Sonny be able to have an intimate relationship like any straight couple.

LOL…..Jake Silbermann couldn’t act his way out of a wet paper bag with a double edged machete!

I agree. Noah and Luke were fantastic

I am over days. I just am not into this storyline and don’t see any chemistry between them.

I much preferred the Luke/Reid storyline because it was more mature, compared to the first-love angst of Luke/Noah. Van Hansis was impeccable as Luke Snyder. I am cautiously optimistic about the Sonny/Will storyline, and I certainly hope the writers don’t mess it up!!

Likewise…. Noah and Luke… were ooh la la. everything about ATWT… my world turned with Oakdale…. Oye!

you know who was hot! ? ! ? Tom Wiggin…. Kirk Anderson.

Says you who obviously knows nothing! Jake is doing just fine thanks and getting rave reviews for his theater work. He and Van did fantastic work on ATWT. So hater keep hating. Reid is still fish food. LOL!!!

I think these two are adorable and I like their relationship. They are also watchable actors. Sorry, but gross. I really don’t want to see this. And before you P.C. folks jump all over me, I’m not a homophobe. I think their relationship is probably pretty realistic. I actually really enjoyed the “Kish” relationship on OLTL very much and they were one of my faves.

I guess I’m one of the few who don’t watch soaps for the bedroom scenes. I have an imagination and prefer the drama, mystery, action and intrigue aspect of daytime drama storytelling.

well, i’ve had to endure straight bedroom scenes on soaps for years, so suck it up.

maybe MbMom is into bears. lol.

lmao Justin! I agree!!!!

understood. I mean no disrespect. I feel the same about many hetero couplings. I can always FF and if it makes you and other soap fans tune in I say YEAH!

@Robert, bears? No thanks, I’m a Packers fan.;-)

I really meant no offense and I’m sorry if it came off that way. Watch whatever makes you happy and keeps soaps on the air. Will & Sonny are adorable together and as a parent I’m loving the storyline.

Exactly. I for one can’t wait. But hope there is more to this sex scene than the clip already showed. Really not much is even shown with this. What has been showing is so well done by Freddie Smith and Chandler Massey. What is being shown so far is so beautiful and sexy. Kudos to the show for promoting this. OLTL didn’t do a good job promoting Kish and just blamed them for bad ratings.

Boorrringggg

Guys, it sounds like the poster just means they hate lovemaking scenes in general, not just gay ones.

I wasn’t offended, I hear ya. Romance is pretty, we all know where it’s leading. Um, and after you’ve had kids…kinda a no-brainer.

Bears!!!!! Rule!

THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! I’m so happy DAYS is taking the plunge and being brave enough to air a love scene like this for Will and Sonny. It takes me back to the days of ATWT’s Luke and Noah. I’m very excited about this! And I hope this is just the first in many to come! It’s beautiful to watch. In the order of Eileen Davidson – “I love looking at my monitor and seeing two boys kissing”!

This is going to be so ground-breaking for this show. GO DAYS OF OUR LIVES!!!!

I am going to hook onto Scott’s post because he is an ATWT fan and I like what he writes.

I never thought I’d become a DAYS fan but this is the storyline that has done it for me. The show usually is too strange for me. The plot points seem very real to me; the actors, authentic in the portrayal. And it just fits as a reflection of what goes on in our world today. Romance is so often lacking in daytime drama anymore. I am proud as a gay man to see this story, as I was “Kish” on OLTL and my beloved Luke and Noah on my missed ATWT (which by the way introduced us to a gay man named Hank in 1988!) And I loved the ALL MY CHILDREN arc about the school teacher Michael Delaney in the 1990s.

To the naysayers: I just say it is interesting the gay storylines are written with more geniuneness that some other love stories I see today, namely the quick-to-marry/quick-to-divorce crowd in Y&R’s Genoa City and that insanely stupid endless triangle and bedroom bouncing on B&B. Will and Sonny are much more mature than Steffy, Hope and Liam!

Now let’s hope for gay stories that are not always about coming out, and gay characters that just… well… are… working, living, loving, learning… part of the fabric of Salem and other soap towns.

After watching the Luke and Reid, and Luke and Noah disastrous endings on ATWT; and oher horrendous endings of gay/lesbian characters/SLs in American shows, I am not sure that DOOL will not follow prior soaps/shows in destroying its gay SL. Anyway, good luck to all following the Will and Sonny SL on DOOL. Hope you’re hopes are not crushed in the end like the ardent fans of LURE and NUKE were by TPTB of ATWT.

Well stated.

Thank you so much! A lot of people surprisingly hate what I say, so it’s nice to knowing that someone likes what I say, aha. I think DAYS is investing into something that is going to be well worth their while!

This is great, and smart to do it when ratings are down anyways, so there is no backlash. Actually, this may bring the ratings up! Lovin’ it!

It could go either way, but I think this day in age, it’ll bring them up!

Bye bye, Days of Our Lives, your “days” are numbered. Most women don’t want to watch this ish. 🙁

Then move it to Logo! It’ll run forever.

Then don’t watch nor make homophobic comments.

Well said, buddy!

Thanks Dmitri. I don’t stand for homophobic comments or hatred. It’s too disgusting in this world.

Gays have a right to love and feelings just like staights do. And, for the record, in the world of reality, it is the straights who have no problem commiting adultery, cheating right under their partners’ noses, changing partners like they change socks, and so on. No wonder the divorce rate among the straights is above the roof. So, if you are not interested don’t watch, but please don’t throw stones on anyone. Every person has a right to feel, love, and live the way he or she wishes to.

Kudos! I willingly share the same sentiments… finding love… be it.. “heterosexual or homosexual”…

it’s taking on so much extra energy that takes away from one’s own flight. Fly.. be yourself… it’s freeing and obvious to those around you that it’s all the same life.

I don’t have a problem with showing gays on “DAYS”. I do have a problem with making “DAYS” ALL ABOUT the gays. “Gays of our Lives”. Everybody is a cheerleader for the gays. They frolick in the town square. NOBODY has a problem with it, even though, as I remember this show, it has its roots in devout Catholicism. I loved the way God was revered and respected on this show. And yes, there were “sinners”, lots of them! But I don’t remember any other sins being “pimped” like this. “If you think there’s anything wrong with it, you’re just a bigot!” You cannot bully and insult people into ignoring what the Bible so clearly teaches.

The bible also says, and says it very clearly, in the 10 Commandments; thou shall not commit adultery and thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s wife. And yet, the major reason for the extremely high divorce rate in straight couples is cheating or adultery. May be straight people should first practice the teachings of the Bible before pointing fingers at gays or lesbians. All throughout history, gays and lesbians have never told straight people not be straight; but straight people have always made it a point to lecture gay people about how sinful their ways are. So it is usually the straight people who are bigots.

Why wouldn’t women want to watch this? I can’t see how two hot men getting hot isn’t sexy … don’t straight guys love watching women fooling around? how is this different???

I don’t know any straight guys who (admit to) like watching lesbians, but if they do I can only assume it’s because they like looking at naked women. (Most) women are different. We’re more interested in the relationship. We like the love stories. Bo&Hope, Patch&Kayla, Jack&jennifer, John&Marlena, DAYS has a long history of beautiful love stories, and no, I don’t think most women would rather watch two guys. Not the women I know, anyway.

I didn’t say women would rather watch two men than a man and a woman, I said I think that a lot of women like the version where no woman is involved as well.
Also, if it is all about the relationship I still don’t see a problem with that lovestory. It is as sweet as any other (and a lot more innocent than most gay or straight love stories on tv)

It Really saddens me that Days has chosen to go this route.

Amen sister!!

What a gross storyline. Showing 2 young men and sodomy. Jim Reilly must be looking upwards and smiling.

Days has more issues than this gay story. I applaud them for trying though.

And it saddens me to know how much of a judgmental person you are. I hope you don’t have to face having a gay child, they’d be lost with you.

Scott, as a straight, married, mom what intrigues me most about this storyline are the reactions of the parents & grandparents. I personally find Lucas’ reaction the most relateable. You want to be supportive, but the reality is hard to come to terms with. I think all the actors involved are doing a great job and totally support DOOL for this storyline. It seems to me very realistic by today’s standard. I’m not personally in this position, but find it very relatable. Also, DOOL needs to do something to shake things up. I hope this couple gets the support OLTL’s “Kish” didn’t get but truly deserved. I found that couple very “rootable” and they had great storyline potential, only to be written out when things were getting interesting.

Mbmomof3…

well said… I was happy to see… Lucas act out the way he did… it was a realistic portrayal that needs and should be shared… trust me… that gay person… like me… have lived through more trying times and feelings…

feelings that are quelled… and hidden… perhaps…hence.. the term closeted… and when one is strong enough to take that stand… and be counted… and declare we are all equal….

i just cherished the scenes with Lucas… Adrienne.. and Justin… without question the love for their child was evident… it was Lucas right to feel a shock to the system… that his child is not the “norm”… but… loving and being loved.. in the long run…

So it’s sad for DOOL to show two gays in love, but alright to show rape, murder and other bad things on the soap?

It’s a double standard because it’s two men. I’m sure if it were two women, people would be more OK with it. Mark my words.

I agree 100% with Dmitri and Scott and shame on those who are outright homophobes. Like Dmitri said, its okay for soaps and shows to show straight characters or couples get naked, jump into a bed, rape, murder, indulge in incest, commit adultery, change partners like changing clothes, have multiple partners at a given time, kidnap, and do all sorts of dirty and evil things at the drop of a hat. But its a definite no, no for a gay couple to be in love and care for each other. The homophobes are ready to judge gays but think nothing about all the wrong done in this world by straights. If the straights were so pure, then it is amazing why the divorce rate in US alone is around 62%, and that is not a soap or show, its the reality of the present.

RLeternal and Scott are right. If it were lesbians, it would be considered “hot”. At least by men. However, lots of women also think gay guys are hot together. I think WilSon is one of the few good things on DOOL right now.

Sure is ironic how some fans think it is ok to rape and kill on soaps. Yet two people in love and wanting to make love is so disgusting. I am so glad this show isn’t caving to the now minority viewpoints of inequality. This show is being real all the way. Major props to the show and Freddie and Chandler. I think it is pretty split down the middle between straight females and gay men that find Will and Sonny hot together. I am one of those straight females that find them hot. And it seems the females are the more vocal ones about loving Will and Sonny. This love scene from the sounds of it was only previewed in the clip and there is more to come. And I agree Scott that if it were two females these same people wouldn’t even be batting an eyelash.

That’s my feeling as well. As a Christian, I loved DAYS because it was unabashedly “pro-God”. The characters prayed, went to church, they kept “Christ” in Christmas, weddings and funerals were always very religious. I know they had many characters who did “wrong” things. But they didn’t have everybody in town cheering them on and saying “you’re right and those who believe in the Bible are just hateful bigots!” Because that’s what’s happening in Salem today. NOT ONE character has spoken out with the Christian POV. I had hoped for Grandma Caroline, at LEAST, to say something. But no, they went and gave her Alzheimers, instead. It’s all so heavy-handed and it deeply offends me.

@maddiehays, you have a point about DOOL’s history of Catholicism and Christianity. I think it would be realistic and interesting to see how that POV would be portrayed. The negative and the positive and how a “concept” or ideology can become confusing when a friend or loved one is involved and the struggle to come to terms with the reality of it.

I do hope the show maintains balance and they don’t focus soley on one or two storylines.

Hi momof3. I just wanted to make a VERY big distinction. Days has always been big on Catholicism, that is true. But Catholics and Christians are two very different types. Catholicism is a man made doctrine with many things that are anti- Biblical (Mary worship, statue worship, celibate priests…etc). Christianity is a simple faith that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour. Catholicism is the easy way out. It allows people to seem like they believe in God, but without having to accept Jesus, repent, etc. You can love someone while disagreeing with their lifestyle choices. Love does not mean accepting or allowing everything a loved one chooses. When your small child wants to put their hand on a scalding hot stove burner, do you sit back and say “Honey , I love you…and I know you want to do that, so I’m going to allow it. Because I love you.”. No…you yell “Don’t!!”. Or you yell NO! Or you holler STOP! Or you slap their hand. Whatever you have to do to stop them from harming themselves…you do it. That is love. How this relates to the DAYS storyline is…NO ONE is approaching it from God’s point of view. And of course, any character who speaks God’s truth would be written and viewed as a bigot, as intolerant, and would be accused of hate speech. So there will be no true representation from the characters who claim they believe in God on this show. Even though it is a distortion of Gods Word…I am okay with it. There is enough damaging media out there about what a Christian is without putting more out there!

Hi Jesse, I was raised a Catholic and continue to practice my faith. I assure you Catholics are Christian as we believe Jesus Christ is our Savior and the son of God.

Hey MBMomofThree and Jesse, yeah, maybe you’re right, if they did have a Christian character expressing their reservations, they would just make them look bad and cartoony. But see, that’s why I’m disappointed with DAYS and the way they have rejected their Catholic/Christian roots in favor of political correctness. MBMomofThree, I have had a few gay friends, and I have seen nothing in their lives that makes me question the Bible. The males all died from AIDS, except for one who has “repented” of his promiscuous lifestyle and has now gone to the other extreme, celibacy! The only lesbian friend I have is SO messed up, I can’t even begin to tell you, and her kids are screwed up too. I assume your experience has been different. Whatever. I’d rather believe in what the Bible says than in some person’s opinion.

maddiehayes

No words… will “change” your mind. You leave no room for ????

all I can think of… is lighting a candle… in your honor.

Thank you, Patrick. I will pray for you, as well. Did you know there are gay Christians who believe gay sex is wrong? Check out Christopher Yuan, among others.

Patrick: Well said. I am wondering those who condemn gays and their way of life; if they ever think of the millions and millions of straight people who commit adultery, cheat, murder, rape, kidnap, induge in incest, and many other colossal wrongs. They are ready to point fingers at people who prefer people of their own gender to love and cherish; and do no one harm. But, while doing that, they will not point a single of the tons of wrongs that straights indulge in day in and day out.

I saddens me to see America stumble right back into the middle ages … the bible may frown upon homoerotic encounters but then again, the catholic churc frowns upon any kind of sexual pleasure, may it be homosexual, heterosexual. I am sorry, but I can’t see anything immoral in the erotic pleasures our body is designed to give and receive…

Can’t you enjoy the somewhat guilty pleasure of a tastefully staged sex-scene (or rather making-out-scene)? If you don’t take pleasure in watching these kind of love scenes on TV you shouldn’t watch soaps at all …

This looks so hot!!! I can’t wait to watch this episode, I will definitely watch this one! Man those guys are so hot together! And seeing Will’s chest, wow! Beautiful. Glad Days finally got around to them having sex!

I agree!

From the Clip it looks like the NUKE vs. the KISH scene. what they show next will determine, we they be shown in Bed together? Will it be more the once? The Best part is they have had multiple kissing scenes. Also How will Sonny will feel when he finds out about Gabi?

Go, Guys, Go! 😀

Hot, hot, hot!!

What chemistry they have! Looking forward to this storyline playing out. Love Sonny and Will together!

Hmmm… Who’s doing who?

Looks like Will is doing Sonny from how things ended!

WilSon forever! What a beautiful scene!

Noah sucked.

Reid sucked.

Luke, Noah, and Reid were all nice and likeable characters; and the actors; VH, JS, and ESS did a fine job portraying the characters. The ones who really sucked were CG, JP, and TPTB that destroyed both NUKE and LURE SLs in the worst possible manner and in the end left almost every NUKE/LURE fan unhappy and cheated of their faithful following of the SLs. I loved all the three characters but did not all like the way they were written at the end of the show; especially the stupid writers reduced Noah to a no show in the last six months. And in the end they went one step further in their stupidity; killing off Reid and leaving Luke, perhaps the most loved character on the show, sad and alone. Luke, Noah, and Reid were the only characters with unhappy endings. Stupid JP even went on to say it was arbitrary and coincidental that all the 3 gay characters of the show ended the way they ended. I am wondering if they were drawing names from a hat to see who would get unhappy endings; that’s the only way JP’s remark would make any sense. Even if that was the case, it has to be the coincidence of the century that the 3 names picked randomly from the hat to have unhappy endings had to be the 3 gay characters of the show.

@RLeternal You are so correct. Everyone has their faves when it comes to pairing up couples but what Atwt did was unforgiveable. It was never a triangle as Noah was basically never on much of the last several months of the show. And the way his character was written was cruel and opaque. He deserved better as did the fans who had supported that show only to be treated so disrespectfully. I already see a lot of hate being thrown at Will and Sonny and I can only hope for their fans that Days doesn’t cower like OLTL did with Kish. We’ll see.

Boy you can say that again. That is why he wasn’t onscreen that much. He was easy to forget.

Natural Progression…. and, well done…

add in – Kristen/John/Marlena

Eric Brady….

Stefano….

Chloe…

Days can only get better….

isn’t it FUN to see much more of Kayla… she just lights up my tv… thank God… we have kayla w/Bo… and of course, mom caroline. to close out the chapter of Peter Reckell.

LOL… you have to laugh about Dr. Marlena…. losing it…. ie: in the park with her picnic basket… waiting for John….

she accused Kristen of “stealing” her keys and cell phone… the uptight couple…. are on target already…. John’s libido was triggered….

Loved that scene of Marlena in the park. DOOL is getting good!

MBmomof3

I Agree! thank you for saying DOOL is getting good… since Kristen started… the pacing… what with mystery with Jennifer… and sadly, Nicole’s misscarriage.. and I love her! doesn’t it seem like Jenn is back to her ole’ self? Finally! whe’re seeing glimpse’s of the Jenn of old, it’s like the sparkle is back in her eyes… and i couldn’t be happier… her daughter Abby needs a good back up.. these two can act.

Mom Caroline.. has me in tears… so familial… the bradys… and you have to wonder, what about Bo? Geez! whats to say… he’s a staple.. and he did it all… and we’re seeing more sensitivity in Bo’s demeanor.. how heartfelt is that.

if you watched DAYS back when kristen originally started. Eileen Davidson adds so much oomph and presence… can you see how EJ and Sammi are smiling. can’t wait to see kristen with daddy stefano. plus the big plus of seeing john and marlena front burner’ing… big time trio. it’s about time.

i’d like to see Kristen… mix it up with Justin…. wouldn’t it be a hoot to see Adrienne… pulling out all the stops… what do you think of that possibility? course i say this cause i love justin and adrienne.

ANYWAY… It’s about time… i felt this good about DAYS.

Cheers to Will and Sonny…. it’s simply about time. Thank you Days of our Lives and SONY… for being real.

They really are great together. Very playful and affectionate. CM and FS are doing terrific work. Kudos to both of them and to DOOL for not caving in to the backward, mean-spirited bigots. I’m looking forward to watching WilSon’s s/l continue.

Very nice. Well done. I think Will and Sonny are adorable, and they are an adorable couple. Kudos for Days (and of course Chandler and Freddie) for doing this. Actually, aside from the fact that I respect that Days is portraying a gay couple (finally and about time) – Will and Sonny are refreshing characters, and their relationship is refreshing. The rest of Days characters have been so ‘damaged’ sometimes it is hard to watch, and the storylines are the same recycled over and over again that it gets tiring and boring to watch, so Will and Sonny are a breath of fresh air.

Anyone who thinks Jake Silbermann is a good actor is the one who does not know anything. He was embarrassing to watch onscreen and I used to feel so sorry for Van Hansis having to carry every scene he was in with him. If he is getting rave reviews (which I find hard to believe, his fans were always delusional when it came to him) he must have been through a ton of acting classes.

I couldn’t agree more. But isn’t the point here ATWT being the ultimate with Van Hansis leading the way in a gay storyline, no matter who he was with? The storyline is dead and gone. There were no such human beings as Noah and Reid. Get on with it! Van has asked numerous times for fans to let it be! The actors are all over it! It’s my opinion that Van carried Jake but that ship has sailed too. I have seen some of Sonny & Will’s scenes and they are pastic and stiff and unrealistic even if they have let them lay down on a bed. For that, DOOL gets credit but there’s no heat between the two in those scenes. Van knew how to kiss and his co-actors couldn’t help but follow. But who NOW, two years later, gives a hoot about Noah and Reid? They never existed! As with Sonny & Will, it’s fiction! Don’t take it to heart! It only is what it is!

Are there gay racist? Yeah I’ve met a bunch, hypocrits the whole lot of ya.

Oh, yeah, there are a bunch here. They want to point out everything that gays do and don’t do; and then they want to label it as totally wrong. But, the hypocrites that they are, will not find anything disturbing or wrong about the tons of wrongs done in society by the straight people.

This is disgusting!! I’ll make sure to NOT watch Days this day!!

i agree with u deb this sick

Homophobe. It’s people like you that keep this country disgusting and gross.

Homophobe.

It doesn’t bother me any,I liked it.

Cut this mess out I will not watch this any more this is nasty

You’re nasty.

Sonny and Will are the best couple I have seen on daytime TV since Edge of NIght’s Adam and Nicole. Yes- I’m that old !! I hope Days keeps this up and congratualtions to Chandler and Freddie for such tremendous performances. They both -jointly deserve Emmys next year.

Sonny and Will on Days of Our Lives are the best couple I’ve seen since Adam and Nicole on Edge of Night. Having this gay couple on daytime TV is wonderful !!

I hope these guys are still together. I only watch days cos of them.

I Reaally loved it they belong togather we need more love scene and real shower scene

Days Of Our Lives

Arianne Zucker Reveals Her Last Days of our Lives Airdate

Arianne Zucker, who is no longer on contract with Days of our Lives, and involved in a lawsuit against the show, took to her You Tube channel and in her latest episode, and offered up what she believes is her final airdate as Nicole Walker DiMera.

The actress expressed: “I was really appreciative of the amount of support that I have had since leaving Days of our Lives.” She then added,  “My last airdate, I think, it’s July 29th and we’ll see how things go after that.”

Zucker went on to say how she has continued to receive overwhelming support since suing her former employer, Corday Productions, with the allegations that former Co-EP Albert Alarr sexually harassed her and other females at the show, and that the production company entity did not respond sufficiently and adequately.

Photo: JPI

After lodging her complaints, Zucker said her agents received two notices that Corday Productions were reducing her pay before her character was ultimately written off.  Zucker’s contract expired in January and since DAYS tapes over six months ahead it brings her final airdate, which as of now, to the end of July. Zucker is suing for harassment, discrimination, retaliation, negligent hiring and supervision, and wrongful termination among other claims.

Previously, Corday Productions issued this statement on Zucker’s claims: “The allegations in Ms. Zucker’s lawsuit are without merit. Corday Productions, offered to renew Ms. Zucker’s contract including offering her a pay increase. Rejecting Ms. Zucker’s counteroffer does not constitute retaliation. Complaints about Mr. Alarr’s on-set behavior were promptly investigated. Corday Productions fully cooperated with the impartial investigation and subsequently terminated Mr. Alarr.”

On her You Tube channel, Arianne went on to thank everyone who came out to the east coast fan event last weekend that featured several DAYS stars. She expressed, “My whole goal is to really help people stand up for themselves.” Arianne also shared she thinks it’s important for people who have gone through trauma to help each other through it.

On DAYS, Nicole is still in the dark that Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) is raising her child, Jude, with Eric (Greg Vaughan), and Eric also doesn’t know that he is raising his biological son. Will Eric and Nicole reunite and will Nicole find out what Sloan, Melinda and Leo (Greg Rikaart) have been hiding for months, before she exits the show? Stay tuned. There has been on official confirmation from DAYS that July 29th is Zucker’s final airdate.

You can check out Ari’s latest episode from her You Tube Channel below.

Now let us know, do you think somehow DAYS and Arianne will work these out and she will somehow be back on the show? What do you think Nicole’s exit will look like? Do you think they will recast? Let us know in the comment section below.

DAYS and ‘Supernatural’ Alum Jensen Ackles Joins the Cast of Justin Hartley’s CBS Series ‘Tracker’

Look who’s joining Justin Hartley’s hit freshman drama, Tracker! None other than another soap alum, former Days of our Lives and Supernatural favorite Jensen Ackles.

In a reveal via Hartley’s Instagram on Thursday, Ackles is set to play Hartley’s on-screen brother on the CBS procedural drama. In Tracker, Colter Shaw is estranged from his brother, Russell, which has been a big part of the mystery of season one.

Ackles is best known for his long run as Dean Winchester in The CW’s Supernatural, a role he reprised in the prequel of the series The Winchesters. He also recently starred in ABC’s Big Sky as Sheriff Beau Arlen and in The Boys as Soldier Boy.

Jensen was the original Eric Brady on Days of our Lives, a role he played from 1997-2000, before departing for the world of primetime and film.  Eric was in love with Nicole played by Arianne Zucker. The part of Eric was recast with Greg Vaughan taking over the role in 2012.

In his Instagram post, Justin thanked everyone for watching Tracker, and then revealed Ackles as the surprise casting announcement in the role of Russell, while Jensen was playing pinball in the video! No word yet on when Jensen’s first episode as Russell will air. Stay tuned.

Wally Kurth Talks on His DAYS Daytime Emmy Nomination, His Emotional Scenes, and Remembering John Aniston

During our 2023 year-end honors at Michael Fairman TV, we named Wally Kurth as our pick for Best Overall Performance by an Actor for his double-turn as both Ned Quartermaine on General Hospital and as Justin Kiriakis on Days of our Lives. So, it was absolutely no surprise to us that Wally landed a Daytime Emmy nomination for his riveting work as a grieving Justin in the Supporting Actor category for the upcoming 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

On DAYS, Justin had been put through the emotional wringer, of first, losing his beloved Uncle Vic, played by the late John Aniston, and then finding out that Victor was the supposed biological father to Justin’s son, Alex (Rob Scott Wilson). If you didn’t reach for the hankies during some of Kurth’s work in these scenes, we don’t know what will make you do so.

Michael Fairman TV caught up with Wally to get his reaction to his fourth Daytime Emmy nomination in the last six years. Kurth was nominated in the Supporting category in 2018, 2020 and now 2024 and Lead Actor in 2021.

In addition, Wally shares what scenes were on his nominated reel, how John Aniston impacted his work, how he has changed as an actor over the years with a new outlook, and being the only actor out there with two long-running roles on two long-running soaps, and much more. Here’s what Wally had to share below.

Congratulations on your well-deserved nomination. You decided to submit yourself this year for Emmy contention in both Lead Actor for GH and Supporting Actor at DAYS, correct?

WALLY: I did. I thought the DAYS reel was a little more dramatic, much more emotional. I had thought with the way the judging goes that it might be a little bit more, winnable, if you will. I enjoyed and was proud of my work at General Hospital, so it’s all good. I’m thrilled. It’s always nice to be nominated.

What scenes did you ultimately choose for your Supporting Actor reel?

WALLY: I started chronologically, as always, trying to tell a little bit of a story. I actually started with a scene where Justin has to tell Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) that Victor’s (the late John Aniston) plane went down and it was not found. Then, the scene with Bonnie (Judi Evans) where I sort of have to let it all out, and grieve the loss of this man who was practically Justin’s father, but it was his Uncle Vic. We have a little scene talking about Victor, and then there is a short snippet at the funeral where Justin eulogizes Victor. Next, we jump to scene where Justin discovers the letter where Angelica admits that indeed Victor is Alex’s father (Rob Scott Wilson). So then, Justin has to tell Alex, and then I also sort of grieve the fact that I’m no longer his father. Justin basically lost his son. It was very dramatic and very emotional. I was guessing the judges would be like, “Hey! Enough with the crying! Stop, you big baby!” But, they didn’t. They must have thought that it was convincing enough that it felt really truthful at how Justin was upset about these two unfortunate realizations.

You bring up a really good point. I talk to actors all the time about crying on Emmy reels. Sometimes, many feel it might put voters off. But obviously, this time it worked well for you!

WALLY:  What I liked about the crying scenes was that, like in real life, you’re not crying all the time when something bad is happening, right? I think crying happens and it takes you off guard. It happens without you realizing it. These were all moments when Justin was alone, really. Bonnie comes in the room where Justin is just kind of like dealing with it. And then her coming in, opens up Justin and she is there to hold him. I think that often happens in real life. I thought that was correct for the writers to do that, you know, that Justin would break down when he was alone.

Did you feel the pressure of wanting to get these scenes when Victor died and at his memorial, just right due to the enormity to it, and to do justice for John Aniston?

WALLY: I allowed myself to use my heartbreak over John Aniston. I loved him. I just sort of allowed his presence for me in the scenes. It was sweet. It was good for me. I’m just thinking about it now and I feel teary-eyed. John was such a sweet man. He led by example, and he really did teach me how to be a professional actor, and he was a mentor. He never told me anything specific, but he was just John, and in the scenes, this was the time for me tell him how I feel.

Then, you had the heartbreaking scenes with Rob Scott Wilson where Justin tells Alex he is not his father!

WALLY:  I thought that was just really challenging material. As I get older, I just trust the material, and don’t get ahead of myself. I trust myself with the emotion. Just let it happen if it happens. When I first read it, I kind of imagined what it could look like and then you just let it unfold from there.

You’ve got Robert Gossett (Marshall, GH), A Martinez (Nardo, The Bay), Mike Manning (Caleb, The Bay), and Bryton James (Devon, Y&R) all in your category. Robert has won two Daytime Emmys in a row, last year for Supporting Actor and the year before for Guest Performer.

WALLY:  l love Robert. I worked with the character Marshall on General Hospital, and we had so much fun. He’s a great guy and a really good actor. A Martinez is the best guy ever. I have such admiration for him. Whenever I see him, we always really connect and to be in included with him is great. Bryton James, I don’t know, but I know he beat me in this category in 2020. Mike Manning, I didn’t get the opportunity to know when he was at DAYS as he weren’t in scenes together, but I hear good things about him, too.

When you are judging Emmy reels, what do you look for when you’re voting on a performance?

WALLY: That’s a really great question. And because let’s face it, there’s just a lot of terrific talent in daytime. This year, I judged two categories. I don’t just go with, “Okay, who’s crying the most.” I really try to go with the one who’s touches me the most, who surprises me and moves me. And so, if you go with that, you’re probably going in the right direction. I also think that upfront you do need to kind of give them something in the first couple minutes that shows you know what you’re doing and don’t make it too repetitive.

Who did you first tell you were nominated?

WALLY: My manager, Michael Bruno called me. I was in Chicago with my daughters having a late breakfast and I knew the nominations were going to happen around 11 am Chicago time. I didn’t tell my daughters about what was happening, just in case, I didn’t get nominated. So, when Michael called, I went, “Oh, boy!” I told my daughters who were sitting at the table with me. So, they were the first two people that I could tell, and that was really nice.  We had champagne which was really funny because I bought three little glasses of champagne, and as soon as I bought it, we toasted. They said, “We don’t really like champagne.” So, I ended up drinking all three glasses. (Laughs)

What do you think of Eric Martsolf (Brady), your Day Players Band member, and DAYS co-star getting a Lead Actor nomination?

WALLY: I remember, I was like talking to him and I was like, “Eric, are you going to submit yourself?” And he is like, “I don’t know. I don’t really have anything …” And the next thing you know, he’s nominated. I’m like, “Wow! I guess he found something!” (Laughs) I love Eric. I have such respect for him and his gift, and he works really hard. So, I was very happy for him. I’m glad we weren’t in the same category, however.

How many years now have you been playing Justin on DAYS?

WALLY: I started here 37 years ago in 1987. I was there for four years and then I left. Then, 18 years later, Ken Corday (EP, DAYS) invited me back in 2009 and I’ve been on the show now for 15 years. So, I guess a total of 20 years on and off over the last 37 years. Everyone remembers 1987-1991 … those were big, big years for Justin and Adrienne who back then were a supercouple.

Have you determined who you would thank in your acceptance speech if you win this year’s Supporting Actor Daytime Emmy?

WALLY: I feel like this year I kind of have an idea of what I would say. I think I can remember all of that without writing it down. If I had gotten nominated for both shows, I was definitely going to point out and thank the powers-that-be for giving me dual citizenship and how much I appreciate that. I do think that being on both soaps, I will go to my grave believing that it’s made me a better actor. In fact, since I’ve been doing both shows, I’ve been nominated for Daytime Emmys. I’ve become a better actor. I feel like maybe it’s just that I’ve gotten older and wiser, but I feel as though when I go in there to work, I’m really focused and I’m really prepared. I know I pretty much get one shot to get it. We’re in the business of “one takes” now in the soaps.

People are so lucky to even have one enduring role in their careers, but you’ve been able to have two, and they’re completely separate characters on two legacy shows; one which just turned 61, General Hospital, and the other Days of our Lives which will soon celebrate 60 years, as well.

WALLY: I didn’t plan on it. I must have done something right. Back in 2009, Ken called me up and invited me back to DAYS. I really jumped in. I’d been out of work for four or five years. I went back with a whole new attitude about the work, about the genre.  In 2004, when I left General Hospital, I was kind of burnt out. Looking back on it, I didn’t have a good attitude and I was just done. I was kind of tired. New writers come in and sometimes, when you have new writers that look at your character differently, it can be very difficult, because you just know that their passion is not with your character. However, in this case, I’m like, “I’m going to take whatever the writers give me and do the best I can and do my job. Let the writers do their job.” I think the writers also know that I really respect them and I’m not going to complain. I’m not going to tell them what to do and I’m going to stay out of it. They have enough to work out. They have enough to do. I’m going to be the problem solver, not the problem creator. There are enough problem creators. Believe me when I tell you that every time I leave those sets, I’m like, “Thank you. I love it.  See you the next time I see you.” I know how lucky I am to do both shows and to have this opportunity to act at my age and still be sent scripts. I love the art of acting. I’d do it for free. The fact that they’re paying me and I am able to do this and work with these great, wonderful, talented actors every day, it’s kind of mind-blowing.

So, will you be rooting for Wally to take home the gold in this year’s Outstanding Supporting Actor in Daytime Drama Series at the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards on June 7th live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+?
