Will Jonathan Jackson, Nathan Parsons & Other Notables Return To GH For Tony Geary's Final Farewell As Luke Spencer?

It would seem that General Hospital has been crafting and taping the final ten weeks of story that viewers will see on upcoming episodes of the long running ABC soap opera to usher out the one and only soap opera icon, Anthony Geary.  The legend is now set to finish up his fantastic 37-year-run playing Lucas Lorenzo Spencer.

With Geary recently revealing his imminent departure, and Genie Francis already back on board as Laura Spencer, it would seem natural for Luke’s son, the beloved Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) and the wayward Ethan (Nathan Parsons) to come back  and have some final scenes with their on-screen dad.

While Luke’s final storyline has been under wraps,  GH head writer  Ron Carlivati recently alluded to Soap Opera Digest that he was looking for a way to incorporate adventure into Geary’s final GH story.

Since action-adventure has been a staple of Luke’s storylines of the past that would make sense. In addition, Daytime Confidential is reporting today that they are hearing rumblings about Jackson and Parson’s return, plus an additional former leading lady other than Francis and Jane Elliot (Tracy).

So this begs the question: Who do you want to see be part of Luke Spencer’s and Tony Geary’s final storyline this summer? Share your thoughts below!

I’m sure it’s Emma Sams.

Can do with out homophobic Jonathan Jackson.

Love Jonathan Jackson

Good for you, Ren!

emma sams

I find your dip wits comment uncalled for. These comments were posted before the news was released on June 1st that she was returning.

I first watched GH when Luke met Holly on top of the mountain. I would love to see Holly again for a few episodes. Will really miss Anthony Geary.

Robert, Holly, and Helena with that DNA test proving that Ethan is Robert’s and NOT Luke’s.

Also, Connie Townley, Luke’s 1983 WSB-agent-lover.

I hope its Lucky, Robert, Holly, Sean and Tiffany.

I dont want to see Ethan. I didnt like the character, the actor or the story in which he was eventually connected to Luke.

I loved Ethsn…exuded the cool/edgy vibe…not to mention he’s gorgeous, his accent and charm. Would love to see robert…just want him back full time!…Sean and Tiffany. But as you probably know she was very ill…not quite sure what her status is now.

Tristen is under contract to Y and R as Colin. Dont see how he could appear as Robert.

Rebecca, I love Ethan too. Eileen, Tristan is nowhere to be seen on Y&R and if Eileen Davidson can jump from Days to Y&R in front burner stories, why can’t Tristan make a couple of cameos?
That’s not a rhetorical question, I earnestly want an answer.

The difference is that Y&R and DAYS both are owned (? or produced, or invested in) by SONY, so they can have a say in creative decisions that would be profitable to both soaps. Y&R and GH have no such ties, and are more clear-cut competitors, where there is no legitimate reason for either soap to concede favors to the other for the sake of the story or the fans. In fact those two soaps have been stealing actors from each other for years.

However, I don’t see Y&R investing in Tristan Rogers anymore, he hasn’t really been seen since Pratt’s plane crash debut storyline, so I can’t imagine there are big plans for Colin. I personally don’t think they’ll keep him on contract for too many more cycles, so maybe he could return to GH more permanently for Anna once Finola returns from her hiatus.

Tiffany has an illness and said she can never go back to GH because she is not well

Please bring back Jonathan Jackson and Emma Samms, that would be terrific.

Jonathan Jackson is coming back so is Ethan – Emma was announced last week as a yes. I want Robert Scorpio back that would be an ideal thing to do

Can Ethan please be revealed as Robert Scorpio’s son instead of Luke’s? Please?

Very cool, if it can happen, especially for it be worked out with Jonathan Jackson, and his Nashville schedule, etc. I love Nathan Parsons, too. Other leading lady? Emma Samms? and, could they briefly pop Julie Marie Berman into the mix, somehow, a flashback scene or something with Genie, Anthony, Jonathan, and Julie?

Holly and Scorpio!

I would love to see the return of Lucky and Ethan (as brilliantly played by Jonathan Jackson and Nathan Parsons) to help wrap up Luke’s (Tony Geary’s) storyline. That would be a wonderful personal touch. JJ spent many years with Tony Geary and Genie Francis, so that would be fitting, and I so enjoyed the relationship between Luke and Ethan. As for the other leading lady that could be brought back, I am so hoping that it is “NOT” Helena Cassadine, as I am so over her. I think his romantic relationships with Laura and Tracy are the most heartfelt and genuine, and are the ones that deserve the fanfare at the end of this long, wonderful ride we were fortunate enough to share with Luke/Tony Geary!

Just PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT kill Luke off. We have to see him again.

Emma Sams!! It will be Luke and Holly at the end

I don’t want Tony to leave!
However, the final scenes will be the best they can be..
I have no doubt that RC and all the staff of GH are doing their very best to give Tony/Luke his due with a great exit..
(All are working hard on the farewell..

(I’m sure Tony will some input also…

Maybe Skye….Holly?

Holly is the other woman……so who does Helene get to terrorize once Luke isgone……also, there is rumor Liz leaves with Lucky because RHdoesnt lik workin with Billy Miller—is this true?

sorry for errors…im a little shaky at moment due to illness..

Don’t be sorry! Hope you feel better soon! I would hope that if Helena is involved at all, that they use it as a chance to end the ridiculous Lulu/Stavros embryo in a thermos story!
As to Liz, would someone actually quit their job just because they don’t like a co-worker? Not many of us have that option, so I would doubt it.

Feel better!

You haven’t done anything you need to apologize for….
Where did U here this juicy little tidbit on RH???
Wonder if it’s true???

Not true at all apparently there were Some nasty rumors, that not only involved the characters of General Hospital, but the actors who play those parts hit social media after a certain gossip website posted that Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth Webber) and Billy Miller (Jake Doe/Jason Morgan) strongly disliked one another on the set of GH, and that Herbst was on her way out because of Billy Miller. These rumors are completely UNTRUE. There is absolutely no animosity between Becky and Bill, and Becky herself said she is staying with GH. So hopefully we can put crap like this aside this why i hate the internet rumors start taking on a life of their own

Thanks for the update.

I kind of thought it was stupid gossip….i knd of stumbled upon it on the internet……i believe if it were true ew here it here!

David, where do this insane rumors come from?
In interviews Billy Miller has positively waxed poetic about Rebecca’s beauty and talent.
I think these mean spirited rumors came from a rabid pack of JaSam fans who harbor a puzzling hatred toward Lizzy, a fictional character.
That is my theory anyway.

If Ethan returns, I wouldn’t be surprised if his mum, Holly Sutton Scorpio, also makes an appearance. It would also be nice for her ex & Luke’s BFF, Robert, to make an appearance. But, I don’t know what Tristan Rogers’ status is over at CBS.

I am guessing the other leading lady would be Emma Samms. I wish Tristain Rogers was available as he should really be a part of Luke’s departure but alas not meant to be. Really looking forward to seeing how they send him off.

I hope they can both return, especially Lucky. I’ve wanted JJ to come back to GH for so long now, and with Laura coming back, it makes sense that Lucky comes back too.

As for the other former leading lady, I think this one is obvious: Emma Samms. She’s been back to GH a few times in the last few years, so it would make sense.

Will we see Emma Samms’ Holly Sutton return to Port Charles? Please let that be the case.

Action adventure is the only way to end Luke’s story on gh! Luke Laura Lucky Ethan and Holly and wish fully Robert Scorpio should be a big part of his exit. Perhaps Luke will be presumed Dead. LET THE ADVENTURE BEGIN. YAY!

All I can say is yes, yes, yes to Jonathan and Nathan returning for a few episodes to help usher Luke out.

Would love to see Jonathan Jackson back as Lucky, so he, Tony and Genie can share the screen together one last time. Hopefully they’re able to make that happen. The adventures of Luke and Laura and Lucky were such a big part of what drew me to GH when I first started watching the show in 1993, so I would really enjoy that. Jonathan literally grew up on the show, and in interviews even today always gives Tony Geary a lot of credit for him becoming the accomplished actor he became. I’m sure he’ll want to come back and say goodbye.

I personally never cared for the character of Ethan, rewriting history and making him Luke and Holly’s son was one of the many stupid Guza storyline mis-steps. But it would be cool to see Emma Samms again, who is I assume the other leading lady from Luke’s past referred to here.

It’s a shame Tristan Rogers won’t be able to be there, to give Luke and Scorpio a proper conclusion, especially since he’s not really doing much of anything at all on Y&R these days, from what I understand from my friends that watch the show. If they’re not gonna use him, they should cut him free, so he can return home to Port Charles where he belongs.

I agree, They should let Tristan come back! It would be one heck of a send off if Tristan, Sean Donley, Sharon Wyatt, and even Jack Wagner come back to the show. That would be so awesome!

I hope he gets to say goodbye to finola hughes, I’m sure the other leading lady is Emma samms, Tito bad he won’t get to share the screen one last time with Tristan Rogers Scorpio. I can’t wait to see how they do it, I hope they give us a happy ending and no cliffhanger, because once Geary is out the door who knows if he’ll ever make an appearance on GH agian.

I would have to say Emma Samms that played Holly. And please bring back Tristan Rogers, John Reilly(who played Sean)and Sharon Wyatt. I know Tristan is on Y&R, but they should allow him to come back for that farewell.

Holly, Lucky, Robert & Ethan

i would love for Emma Samms and Tristin Rogers to return for his exit?

when is his last air Date

It really would be special to see Jonathan Jackson , Emma Samms, Nathan Parsons and Tristan Rogers all back . Loved them all in the roles of Lucky,Holly, Robert and Ethan.

I’d be glad to see any of the old friends but I will be horribly disappointed if he doesn’t end his time with us as Laura’s guy!!!!

I would really love to see Jonathan Jackson return. Also Nathan Parson, Tristan Rogers and Robin Christopher.

Would love to see all of them as well! I mean, Robert and Luke were BFFs in the 80’s. Sonny and Luke were the BFFs of the 90’s. I would love to see the incorporate all of his children, his sister, and his women(Laura, Tracy and Holly) and his 2 BFFs! Plus, if possible, Sean and Tiffany! But that’s a stretch to get all of them! Luke Spencer deserves to out with a bang!

Yes to all the above.

I have also heard ABC will have JJ return to help usher AG out. It will be nice to see The Spencer’s reunite. As far as Ethan goes, hope Luke doesn’t turn out to be his daddy. Emma coming back would answer those questions possibly. I hope they allow The Spencer’s to leave town like they came back in 1993-With a mystery but with some Spencer type style.

This is why its so great to be a fan of GH. This summer is going to be awesome. We have no idea how Luke will leave and thats exciting in this day and age of spoilers through social media. He is at peace with leaving and has a great deal of respect for his chacter and his first love. Whatever he chooses to do will be okay by me. Love you Tony!

They both should come back for Tonys bon voyage. I will always b a loyal fan.

Would love to see Tiffany, Sean, Robert and all the gang back.

It would be nice to see Tiffany, Sean, Robert, Holly, and Ethan but mostly I would like to see Lucky come back and entice Elizabeth to ride off into the sunset with him.

Harry, Tristan might not be seen but he is under contract. When Eileen and Wally Kurth both bounced between Days and GH, they werent under contract and could do both shows. Wally signed a contract for Days and had to exit GH.

OH, that Nathan Parsons is a doll! Please, bring him back!!

I would like all to return…however I would like a second Luke and Laura wedding that will out due the original wedding with love, glamour and sky high ratings. (sorry take that back no cassadine story)

I hope they add some flashbacks that would include Stephen Nichols and also the Spencers dog Foster.

LUCKY

Holly and Robert

“yes”

“I”, need

Robin Christopher

in my life
in my telee

with her daughter… from Lorenzo… she returns … to Port Charles… to enliven… and bursts front and center… alongside.. Maura West.. as the heirs of womanhood

GH writers at one time… did … try and succeed… a romance between Luke and Skye… it was enigmatic… dream… whet… and lifelike… I loved IT

love them

so… for my monies… LOL GH advertisement… bring back Skye

Becky is ONLY staying bevause sadly Billy is going back to Y’&r

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT kill off Luke. We need to see him again. Some day, some where…

Robert (tristan Rogers), Holly scorpio (emma S……) and of course Robin.

I would like to see Jayson come back.

Love to see The one and only Lucky, JJ return. Ethan I liked ,the actor can act. Emma Sands and Sean . Tiff had a lot of medical problems so maybe not. The best thing is, whomever returns to escort Luke off won’t be staying long so TIIC won’t be able to destroy the characters. I just hope they don’t ruin the Laura return.

Emma Samms ! Someday I will read what I write .

I loved the friendship between Luke & Robert from the beginning. I want Robert to be a part of Luke’s storyline–one that doesn’t end and allows for Anthony Geary to return as Luke from time to time! I would also like to see Luke’s other best friend, Roy DiLucca return if A Martinez is available. They also have great chemistry as friends and we’ve never had a Luke, Robert and Roy scene together. That would be awesome! Perhaps best friends Robert & Roy could help send Luke off somewhere and then share some scenes of their own together!

Would love for JJ to return with Laura! Emma too! Just don’t know how they’d have Lucky return after he abandoned his sons. I hated that story and what Elizabeth and Nikolas did but NEVER saw Lucky as repeating his fathers mistakes. Was such a huge fan of GH in the 90’s and Luke & Laura as well as the Four Muskeeters ( Nik, Lucky, Elizabeth, Emily) were a big part of that. Would be grateful to RC if he fixed what Guza broke.

With that said I will miss Anthony Geary as Luke Spencer. I hope he makes guest returns!

So awesome to see Genie and Tony back on screen again…but sad that Tony is leaving…Although I’m glad they will not kill of his character & to leave an open door for him to return later on…I wish Tony the best of health and glad he’s putting that first…Very excited to see Jackson and Parson returning as well…I hope some more veterans return this summer for Tony’s farewell…

i hope that kidnapper is Stephen Cassidine, that would be a great story line.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

on

By

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

Photo: ABC

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
