I hope she fights for Ava’s baby..
She is the grandmother..

Then when Ava hides out at her mother’s she will be with her baby daughter.

That’s Good I like it, although Delia is probably coming to town to help
clear up the Denise business. Is she or isn’t she Ava’s long lost twin???

well,
if its going to be an unknown twin story then I’m very happy it will be Maura/Ava playing a double role !!
but–
I do not believer it will go that way, its something else ..

Do you believe Silas tampered with her memory? Or is she a doppelgänger?
the possibilities are endless……

Of course what would make most sense, is if they had been separated at birth
unbeknown to Delia…

Well, RC and team are masters at twist and turn shockers..
It could go in any direction..
What we believe at first won’t be correct ..
Maura will bring it home. I’m excited to go on this journey ..

Me too, have a good weekend Su0000.

I actually said previously that Delia has always been very much aware she had twin girls. That was my very first thought and I posted it…prematurely, as usual. They were adopted by different families. This is all conjecture, of course.
Perhaps it is Delia who brought Denise into the picture for her bone marrow.
All this has been meticulously planned by Silas, Ava, Denise and Delia.
As I already said, even identical twins’ DNA a is not exactly the same, nor do they look exactly alike. I am actually much prettier than my identical twin…LOL. joking!!!
So, Is Denise Ava? Or does Denise not exist? Hmmmm. Did Silas somehow manage to do a switcheroo with the vials? Could the vials belong to Avery?
I believe Lucas said the marker proved that Denise was not Ava, but it did prove she was a very, very close relative to Ava, and a member of the Jerome immediate family. It can only be Avery’s blood. The baby fits the bill. I have suspected this as soon as Denise undulated her hips in Julian’s apartment. I am probably way off here, but it’s a little logical, yes?

Yes it certainly is logical.

SU, hi,
The more I think about it, the more I agree with you. Please, bear with me….
There is no Denise. You believe it’s Ava through and through, right? I think you might just be right in that assumption. Silas saved Ava via Avery’s marrow. You said the true story was “something else”. So, here it is:

Delia is in on this and together , that is, with Silas and Ava, concocted and masterminded the twin story.
Now, I did also suggest that premise as soon as “Denise” walked in.
So, Ava is definitely “dead” , as everyone will assume. However, Ava knew about her twin and left documents , making “Denise” Avery’s legal guardian. Now, would it not be the greatest of all twists if “Denise”/Ava moved into the Q mansion? Ahh, the sweet taste of irony.

Enter Delia. She is here to confirm all this. And, Silas manipulated everything to Ava’s favor, including the DNA test.
“Denise” re-locates from Queens to PC …..everybody wins, except Orange-Mini-Me (Sonny). Thank the Lord!! (“Cowards die many times before their death; the valiant never taste death but once”. William Shakespeare).
The above quote is how I see Sonny.

Let us not judge to harshly, there is Good and Bad in all of us.

Lol, Fanny….we are talking about a fictitious character here. I am sure Maurice is a VERY GOOD person. He must be a decent human being for being with the same soap for years, dealing with co-stars day-in-day-out. We can love the actor, but dislike the character. I think I’m clever enough to discern between reality and fiction….but, I do thank you for your kind admonition, Fanny. I like you very much….so, I respect your words, albeit, I will still share my thoughts, positively or negatively.
Nonetheless, anyone who continuously murders in cold blood or acts as God and takes revenge, has no good in him/her……real or otherwise….that soul is forever lost. Where there’s no repentance, there’s no absolution.
There is no St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, waiting to open those Heavenly portals for Sonny….I do see hellfire, though.
Peace out.

@ CeeCee I certainly did not mean to offend or presume that U meant anyone other
than the character of “Sonny”. When I said “let us not judge to harshly” It’s because
Sonny is truly a product of his environment, beaten and broken and locked in a
closet repeatedly as a child did something to his psyche.. all due to the fact that his
father Mike, a compulsive gambler abandoned him and his mother. She remarried
an abusive, violent, crooked cop…. You see where this is going… And where it has
lead… Yes, he has committed some heinous crimes in his life, what GANGSTER hasn’t.
Yet, I still believe he has some redeeming qualities.

@Fanny.
My dear Fanny.
I was not affronted, in the least. We just have a difference of opinion, that’s all. We both respect those differences.
Sonny is the typical Alpha Man. Redemption is reserved only for those who do not keep making the same mistake over and over and hurt people. He has no redeeming qualities, if his focus is still hurting Ava…or wanting to retaliate against Jake. He hates Ava and wants to hurt her for doing exactly what he did. Now, in what world is that logical? In the world of the soulless, I say. Only my opinion, Fanny.

@CeeCee
Lovely CeeCee, I chose to look at Monday’s show through your EYES, meaning
my aim was to remain objective in regards to Sonny’s ” I know better than you” attitude.
I’ve mainly given him a free pass on all the bad behavior plus,plus..he’s subjected us to
throughout the years, do to the GOOD many things he’s also done in his life.Of course two
wrong’s don’t make a right…. YOU on the other hand R RIGHT in your assessment
of the “GODFATHER.” He was convinced Denise was Ava from the moment he set
eyes on her, not a miscalculation on anyone’s part. Thus the “COVER-UP” begins
enter Silas…. I digress.. He means to do away with her, for killing Connie & lying
about AJ. What he has conveniently forgotten is what’s good for the GOOSE…

My guess, based on years of soap watching, she’s there to confess she gave birth to twins, and Denise is Ava’s twin sister. Okay, maybe that is me hoping she is Ava’s sister because I would love to see MW play dual roles for long time to come. Of she might be in on a plan to convince everyone that Denise isn’t Ava, including “confessing” she had twins, which would explain why their DNA was the same, assuming tomorrow we find out it is.

Maura West has magnified GH on so many levels

danged it tho… “denise” still has magic with Morgan (pretty boy ) “YES!”

LOL it looked like William DeVry (Julian) was doing every thing he could to reign himself in… as “denise” sauntered in to their “shared” penthouse…

“denise” IS – …. “HoT” ( I could have done without KM’ Sam sleuthing )

I so agree with your post… that Mother Delia is in town to help “Aves”

???? correct me if I’m wrong : wasn’t Delia the only other person to see Ava “alive” at the pub or kelly diner ???(aside from Silas) when Kiki… had the memorial for Ava ?

I really like this rejuvinated character… Maura West is a stunner… but going brunette is sexier than platinum blonde… any day of the week… LOL

she look HOT…. did I say that again (LOL)

ok… she will tone down the gum chewing… she can keep the New Jersey or New York accent… (ok: I doubt it)

GH has gold… and mining the FANtastic Maura West… is dream

Thank you Ms. West

I do hope they show some flashbacks… and Ava gets to see her child, Avery… before she passes on… ( tearful )

this is huge television

I said the same thing, Mary. The baby girls were adopted by two separate families.
As yourself, I would love to see Maura play dual-roles. She would ‘kill it’!!

I would love to see her on more often. She is a great actress. Loved her on OLTL also.

She was the heart of comedy in OLTL s. I’m old enough to remember her vividly being the best thing on Ryan’s Hope. The idea of the character living on is great. I think of how my mother would have loved to find out ” whatever happened to Delia?” That the FV AND RC we do!

So happy to hear this news. I love Ilene. She brings a piece of OLTL each time she steps onto the GH stage.
Her appearance must be directly related to Denise’s big splash, somehow.

…and a piece of Ryan’s Hope as well (for those of us old enough to remember)!

She reveals Ava had a twin—Denise but is it a lie to protect Ava?

It could be a lie, Jimh. But as I wrote on another thread, Delia may turn out to be the heroine here. She knew that there was a strong possibility that Ava’s twin, Denise could save Ava’s life. There still remains the mystery of Avery ‘gone missing’, though. So, if Ava is alive, who saved her? Avery or Denise. Do we want two separate entities, Denise AND Ava?… Or do we want them to be one and the same?
Furthermore, if Ava is alive, do we want her to get away with murder?…..will Carlos be the scapegoat or did he, indeed, actually kill Connie?
Finally, a potentially engaging storyline , arousing my interest!! So many possibilities!!

gosh ! Maura West is, invariably, thee best “actor” of this genre

it’d be through the roof for so many to see her acting her tail off… just making waste of all the rest…. ( LOL) seriously… she commits so much… and makes every one else around her bring their A game.

I think GH production… would be better served keeping one Ava… at the top.
LOL… as you can see…. giving prop to writing ( mine included ) leaves much to the imagination….

I really do like MW Ava/Denise new look… as this is so much revitalization.. that she’s that much more intriguing… she was the centerpiece when she walked in to Julian’ … all eyes were on her… LOL

heralded : top tier : she has risen !

let’s say : ORIGINAL Ava has died… and they can put to rest… once and for all… the “murder” of MY much Beloved Kelly Sullivan’ Connie . even tho… I don’t like that a woman character… (even if she was written in to a corner) to take the fall.. when so many of the men folk… keep coming… LOL

namely (Sonny / Julian)… back to ho hum… and don’t drive… as much as they’d want us to think

just saying

ie: since Sabrina is questioning… where is Carlos ??? is it possible he , behind the scenes… made a plea deal with Slaone?? and was whisked off the scenery… ??? I can hope

Carlos is driving Anna… bonkers.. w/Sloane help ?

definitely… engaging stuff on the horizon

giddy

@Patrick.
I can’t argue with what you are saying, Patrick.

But, your last sentence gives me pause. I never thought of Carlos-Sloane in that context.
Hmmmm…..food for thought.

I was just hoping that Carlos would somehow be re-invented and brought back to GH … as a regular Joe

this Carlos…. haunting Anna

seems like a storyline exit for her 3 month hiatus

she’ll leave for a much needed reprieve … due to exhaustion and heartsick

I was always assuming Silas kidnapped Avery so that he could use her bone marrow to save Ava. In the scene where Silas gives Ava that injection that looks like he’s ending her life, I figured he was just knocking her out for surgery. He would inform her after that the marrow came from Avery. Now that Denise has appeared, I have no idea what’ s going on! I just hope that Ava will be back, because I really like that character.

Actually, Delia gave birth to triplets….so look out for Maura West in male drag during the next sweeps period- then she can win both Best Actress AND Best Actor!

Oh, Shrona…I’m cracking up.!!! Too funny!

Thats funny……sounds like something i would had said…lol…maybe Maura could be nominated against herself for best actress —for Ava and Denise!…lol

Now that Shawn is gone Delia should take over running Kelly’s Diner. She would be a hoot interacting with all the Port Charles inhabitants.

YES!!! That would be a great development!!

This. Times infinity

Yes Yes, Yes!!! The diner would be interesting and back to being the hang out it was when Rose was there!

Great suggestion, Michael! Paging Frank and Ron….

Bingo! Let’s make it happen!

THIS COULD BE INTERESTING STORY…..LOVE MAURA WEST…TWO WOULD BE SUPER…AVA AND HER TWIN SISTER!!!!

I would love that. It has been done infinitely by soaps in general….it works, especially a good as an actress as Maura….she will make it work, and then some.
I wonder, when an actor/actress plays a dual role, does he/she get double the pay? LOL.

Keep her on the show!

Love, love, LOVE MW as Ava/Denice! I sure hope she stays and I don’t care who she plays as she is one incredible actress. GH is so lucky to have her!

Delia has to take over Kellys, nobody else can.

I like this idea. Love Illene/Delia.

The stem cells of her baby may have caused her blood to change and it will seem like Ava and Denice are related but can’t prove it is Ava.

Wow, Dawn….what a great assumption!!! Of course!!!!!!! Good call. I bet that’s exactly what happened. One way or another, it was Avery’s DNA on that report. Your explanation makes the best sense yet.

I would like to see more of Ilene. She is so funny and I enjoyed her on OLTL

Always glad to see Ilene back on GH as Delia. It really pleases me when they write bits a pieces of former soaps into the script. The nod to long time viewers is so very much appreciated. Plus, Ilene’s character has so many connections in PC and she provides comic relief. Love it!

I still have questions, and some possibilities…

How did Delia even know Denise was at the police station? She may come off a little flaky, but maybe like a fox…she problably knows a lot of people, who know a lot of people, having worked in a New York City bar for years. Just look at who she hooked up with to have Ava…a Jerome. And I’m sure she is a survivor. Well we should find out more on Monday.

Then there’s the cryptic message Brad got after giving the test results of the DNA to Lucas. Has he reverted to DNA switching again for some reluctant reason? And he doesn’t talk about his family. Except at the very beginning of the Brad/Lucas relationship he mentioned his family had criminal ties. Some other gang trying to get a foothold in Port Charles?

They still haven’t solved who took baby Avery from the hospital. Some of us still think it was Silas so he could extract some bone marrow to give to Ava. And hopefully it saved her life. And I’m sure he could “fix” a gunshot scar.

So twins, maybe. Or maybe not.

Well at least this story is fun and keeps us all guessing.

Hi, Rose.
Delia knew because she is in on the scheme devised by Silas. She and Ava are part of the plot. Delia and Silas are aware of “Denise’s” every move.
If vial switching was indeed done, then, it was Silas who did it. But, as Dawn suggested, Avery’s bone marrow took care of that and possibly, no switching of blood was necessary. We shall see.

Love seeing this story develop, especially since favorites like Ava,/Denise, Silas and Delia are all involved. Then there’s Brad and the lab tests. Not so sure there wasn’t some hanky panky here as I mentioned before. Keeps you guessing which is fun.

You bet, Rose. Silas may have called a favor which Brad owed him….I am really enjoying this….
For once, we are not dealing with dumb storylines. This situation is doable and credible.

They should bring ber onto the GH canvas and keep her! She’s funny and fun to watch. GH needs some “fun.”

Ok. Here’s my 2 cents…
Silas kidnapped baby Avery and removed stem cells from her in order to fight Ava’s cancer. So Ava is off recuperating and Silas is tending to her. This explains how the kid just magically appeared in his home, no less. They still haven’t offered up and explanation for that yet. Nevertheless, I’m glas Maura is back!

Ava, Silas and Delia are all working in concert….the trio’s sudden re-appearance, together, speaks volumes. Coincidence? I think not!!
That is exactly what happened, madluv…..Silas too Avery. However, I doubt we will learn the truth any time soon.

Hey there, CeeCee!….After Monday’s episode, I’m leaning toward Denise and Ava being one and the same….did you catch when Ms. DiMuccio invited herself to stay at Julian’s “penthouse?” Was that a slip-up? Would everyone at-large know that Mr. Jerome has that particular type of abode? Of course, such information could be gleaned from the internet, but the way that little nugget just so comfortably dropped off Denise’s tongue to me implied a specific familiarity of his home, especially since it first belonged to Ava. Wouldn’t most people simply say “your place” or some other euphemism? Strange…….At any rate, regardless of whom this mystery houseguest turns out to be, I’m delighted that her presence should put the damper on the amorous, anytime/anywhere antics of Julian and “Alexis-At-The-Ready!” (Then again, perhaps not…..they are shameless! LOL…..)

What a treat it was to see Delia in action once again! I especially loved Sonny’s reaction to her….they are like chalk and cheese! Despite coming off like a disorganized hot mess, me thinks that Dee is actually crazy like a fox, and helping her daughter Ava pull the wool over the PCPD. She needs to garner a more permanent place on the GH canvas…..and helming the counter at Kelly’s would be the perfect spot for her!

I just posted to Su on “Shawn’s” site that Ava and Denise are the same person. I had said it may be a twin or not. Su was pretty adamant saying it was indeed one person. I believe that. ….too many inconsistencies otherwise.
Moreover, I emphatically stated that Silas had been the mastermind and he, together with Ava and Delia made up the whole thing. I was wrong. The trio returned all at the same time , which made me suspicious.
But, after his discussion with Kiki, Silas seemed very surprised….angry, even, to find that ‘Denise’ was in town. This tells me, not only did he save Ava (Avery’s bone marrow) but also left her in the city, or so he thought. So, I am assuming, it was Delia and Ava working alone. I think most of us do not believe there is a ‘Denise’….it is Ava. She is good, I must say. I just hope she does not make any more slips, albeit she recovers posthaste.

I don’t know about Alexis, Shay (she’s too droopy), but, did you take a look-see at Julian’s chest? Wow…he is ripped.

@CeeCee…The only reason I suspected Silas was a party to Ava’s duplicity was her obvious background knowledge of the “chimera” effect of her stem cell treatment, which led her to confidently pulling off her “Denise” masquerade: she knew full well her DNA test results would come back as they did. I would have assumed that he advised her of this medical phenomenon, as well as other physical manifestations like the absence of recognizable fingerprints and perhaps even darker hair growing in after chemo? (If that is indeed not a wig….it actually looks pretty fake to me.) Having said that, I am glad that Dr. Clay is not complicit in this latest round of dishonesty….he really is too upstanding to be in on a constant con job with the likes of Ava….besides which, I forgot that Delia’s hubby is also a (retired?) doctor. Roger could have easily informed the mother-daughter duo on these choice facts that enabled Ms. Jerome to hatch her return plan. I’m still mystified as to how Ava will extract herself from the legal corner into which she has been painted….I truly don’t relish the thought of Denise being a permanent Port Charles fixture! However, for now, all that matters is that this resilient lady reclaims her crumb-crunching cherub from the bunch of strangers that are currently keeping her from her own blood relatives. Every time I see that little angel in the care of Mikey, Sappy and yes, even the fabulous Tracy, I just bristle. The child simply doesn’t belong there,,,,period! P.S. As for Julian’s “workout routine,” I could have done without it, but WdV certainly does cut a youthful physique! He could easily pass for at least a decade younger than his actual age, which makes his pairing with the careworn Alexis all the more ridiculous!!!! One day soon, she is going to be mistaken for his mother!!!!! LOL.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

on

By

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

By

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
