WWE FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN: Asuka and Santos Escobar Turn Heel

On WWE Friday Night Smackdown on Fox, two heel turns and a suspension feuled the episode while setting up some major battles down the line, especially heading into the Survivor Series premium live event on November 25th from Chicago.
At the start of the episode, the LWO came out to the ring. Rey Mysterio Jr. discussed losing the United States championship to Logan Paul at Crown Jewel. Demanding a rematch, Mysterio says Paul couldn’t have defeated him without the use of brass knuckles.
Carlito then came to the ring and told Mysterio he was blaming the wrong person. He points out that it was LWO member, Santos Escobar, who left the brass knuckles on the ring apron for Paul to use. Next, Escobar storms off as Mysterio and Zelina Vega try to catch up with him.

Later, during Carlito’s match with Bobby Lashley, all hell breaks loose. After Lashley pins Carlito, the Street Profits beat down Carlito. Escobar has now shown up, but just stood at the side of the ring while Carlito was being roughed up. When Mysterio appeared, he shoved Escobar and tended to Carlito before Escobar struck Mysterio in the back.
After that, Mysterio hit Escobar, but Escobar snapped and shoved Mysterio into the ring post and then smashed his knee between the post and ring steps, saying he thought that they were supposed to be family. Next, Escobar made his way up the ramp to a chorus of “boo’s” from the crowd. Backstage, Santos was seen leaving the arena and stopped to offer the interviewer one comment, which was “Rey, had it coming to him.”
In the main event, Asuka teamed with Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair in a match that came about because Belair was fired up over interference by a returning Kairi Sane at Crown Jewel; that cost her the match against Iyo Sky for the Women’s championship.
Bayley, the leader of Damage CTRL, had a moment of reckoning earlier in the evening that Sane would be a part of the faction moving forward, even though Bayley was the one responsible for putting Sane out of action. With Sane willing to let bygones be bygones, Bayley reconciled with her.
Going into the SmackDown closing bout it would be Bayley, Sane and Sky vs. Flair, Belair and Asuka. At a key moment in the match, Belair needed to tag Asuka to get out of trouble from Damage CTRL, but Asuka refused to tag Bianca. Next, she spit mist in Belair’s face and eyes and began to beat her down.
It was then it became clear that Asuka has aligned herself with her former tag partner, Kairi Sane and the rest of Damage CTRL. At the end of the night, the five women held hands up in the air in unity. As a shocked crowd was left stunned. Looks like Damage CTRL will be a team of five going into Survivor Series if Dakota Kai gets cleared to wrestle in time, since she had been recovering from injury.
Kevin Owens, who was the special guest commentator of the night, found himself being suspended by SmackDown GM, Nick Aldis, when Owens mocked Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. Theory dumped water on Owens prompting KO to get up and fight them off. Aldis had one rule for him not to violate – to not get involved or touch any wrestlers during his commentating – which KO failed.
So, what did you think of Asuka and Santos Escobar turning heel? Did you see it coming? Comment below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Chase Proposes to Brook Lynn; Kristina and Blaze Share a Kiss

Finally, many GH viewers got their wish, when on the Monday, December 4th episode of the ABC daytime drama series, Chase (Josh Swickard) got down on one knee (a few times) and proposed to Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton).
At first, Brook Lynn balked at his attempt as she believed Gloria (Ellen Travolta) and Lois (Rena Sofer) were pressuring him to do so. When she tells Chase marriage is off the table he pulls out an engagement ring. Chase reveals he was planning on proposing at Christmas, so he had the ring ready to go. A romantic Chase shares that he doesn’t want to waste one more day as he clearly knows what matters now … her! With that, Chase gets back down on his knees and proposes again, and this time Brook Lynn says, “yes!” The two seal the deal with a kiss!
Molly (Kristen Vaganos) breaks the news to TJ (Tajh Bellow), that she now wants to accept her sister, Kristina’s (Kate Mansi) offer to be their surrogate, after all the failures they have been through in trying to find a candidate that will stick. While TJ voices his concerns, he eventually comes around and tells Molly, “Let’s have a baby,” and now seems excited about the prospect of Kristina being the answer to their prayers. They seal the deal with a kiss!

Kristina and Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) get together with a bottle of champagne, since Blaze’s latest song just hit number one on the charts. During their conversation, Kristina asks what is Blaze’s real name? She reveals it’s “Alison”.

Later, Kristina opens up about her past and her abusive relationship with Keifer, her short marriage to Trey and then how she went away to college and fell for her professor Parker Forsythe (formerly Ashley Jones). She then reveals Parker went back to her ex. However, Kristina’s takeaway was she realized she was clearly into women. That leaves the moment open for Blaze to make a move on Kristina and the two share a kiss.

So, three kisses moved the stories forward on this episode of GH. Which are you most happy about? Chase and Brook Lynn getting engaged? GH moving forward with a same-sex romance for Kristina and Blaze, or TJ and Molly coming together to agree to let Kristina be their surrogate? Three kisses, three different stories. THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS: Nikki is Tempted by the Bottle, Victoria & Cole Ponder if Claire Could be Their Daughter

On Monday’s December 4th recap of The Young and the Restless, the Newmans are reeling from the trauma they each endured after being kidnapped drugged, slashed, poisoned and in Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) case, given an IV bag filled with booze and then finding herself giving in to her addiction and downing the rest of the bottle left behind.
It appears the Newman family are not catching the signals that Nikki is tempted to drink again, in fact, Cole (J. Eddie Peck) was talking about needing a bourbon, right in front of her!
As they try to gather themselves, and as Nikki stares at bottles of liquor, Victor (Eric Braeden) reveals he had Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk) investigated which, according to his research, Jordan is the half-sister of Eve Howard (the late Margaret Mason). He goes on to inform the family that Jordan was a traveling nurse and somehow was at the hospital when Cole and Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) daughter, Eve was born pre-mature and eventually ‘died.”

Courtesy/CBS
Adding this all up, it casts doubt that makes Victoria and Cole think, could Claire (Hayley Erin) really be their daughter Eve? After Victoria becomes overwhelmed, she walks out on the family conversation.
Cole goes after her and they sit outside Crimson Lights and have a heart-to-heart, where they come to the realization that Claire could really be the baby they grieved for all those years ago.
Back at the Newmans, Nikki is clearly struggling with: the ordeal she has been through, the guilt she feels for not being strong enough to fend off Claire and Aunt Jordan, and for hiring Claire in the first place! She is one step away from taking a drink.
At the end of the episode, Cole and Victoria decide they need to head to the prison where Claire is being held to get some answers from her.
So, what did you think of the fallout from Aunt Jordan’s heinous plot against the Newmans? Waiting for Nikki to fall further off the wagon? Are you convinced that Claire will indeed turn out to be “Eve”, or do you hope there is yet another twist to this story? Comment below.

THE GOLDEN BACHELOR Finale: Gerry Makes His Choice Breaking One Woman’s Heart and Getting Ready to Marry His New Love in a TV Special

Just when you think The Golden Bachelor has come to an end, think again! The look at love through the lens of seniors attempting to open their hearts later in life has been a ratings winner for ABC. The series has touched many and has given hope to others, even though, this is, after all, a reality show!
On Thursday night, it all came down to which woman would Gerry choose after bringing both Theresa and Leslie to meet his daughters and granddaughters, all in an effort to get their thoughts on each of the finalists.
Host Jesse Palmer teased during the live finale watch party – in front of a studio audience – and at home on the east and central time zones – that the show will have, “an ending that’s going to shock you to your core. It really is that emotional.” Was it the actual ending that was emotional, Jesse … or, was it before the conclusion when Gerry tore Leslie’s heart to pieces?

Photo: ABC
After seemingly becoming more confused after both women meet with his family, and receiving their feedback which was very positive for both Theresa and Leslie, Gerry said he felt the weight of this decision more than ever, and in this moment.
Things go south and give viewers a clue of what is to come, when he gives Leslie a hug, before they go their separate ways, but gave Theresa an “I love you.”
Leslie can sense that something is off. Later in her room, Gerry visits her and says, “Thanks for everything you’ve done for me and I hope I’ve done the same for you.” What? To make things worse, Leslie tells him how happy he makes her. Gerry’s response is only, “thanks for that.” Followed by “Be happy. I think it’s time for me to go.” Gerry exits as the in-studio audience is devastated for Leslie.

Photo: ABC
To make things worse and official, after crying in the stairwell, Gerry comes back to Leslie’s room and they have it out. “I’ve kind of made a decision about how I want to go about this. I have fallen in love with Theresa, and that’s the direction I’m going to take.” Leslie is blindsided: “So everything you told me the other night was a complete and total lie?” In the best moment of the series, when Gerry attempts to tell Leslie how to feel, she tells him she’ll feel however the f**k she wants to.
Next, the producers try to show us that Gerry has a heart, by including footage of him anguishing over hurting Leslie, and even an awkward hug-it-out moment with Jesse Palmer as comfort.
Now back to the live studio audience, and Leslie is there to address what happened, and as you might expect she was still crushed and hurt, because the hardest thing for viewers to watch was how candid she was about how she never felt she had the right man, a good man, and always lost at love. Gerry comes to the stage, and the two are cordial, but she has not forgiven him, nor should she.
As Gerry’s journey continues on the big screen, it’s the big day. Theresa professes her love for him at their engagement ceremony. Both Gerry and Theresa lost their spouses to illness after more than 40 years of marriage, so it makes sense that they would wind up together. Gerry gets down on one knee, something Theresa shared never happened in her first engagement to her beloved ex-husband and hands her the final very special golden rose.

Photo: ABC
When Gerry and Theresa are together for the first time as engaged in front of the live studio audience, it is announced that their wedding is fast-tracked! And the ceremony will air on ABC on January 4th (8pm ET/7PM CT) in a special event entitled The Golden Wedding, and the duo are getting a trip to Italy to boot!
So, what do you think? Did Gerry pick the right woman? Were you gutted for Leslie? What do you think of the marriage happening so soon? Comment below.
