WWE SummerSlam: Roman Reigns Returns, and Four Titles Change Hands

The “OTC” is back! That’ the Original Tribal Chief in case ya didn’t know… Roman Reigns! This weekend the WWE traveled to Cleveland Ohio for one of their four major premium live events of the year,  SummerSlam. The card would reveal several storyline turns that open up the door for massive feuds from the massive betrayals.

However, the biggest pop of the night came at the conclusion of The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa’s match with Universal WWE champion, Cody Rhodes. Returning after a four month hiatus, Reigns came to the ring and delivered a Superman Punch and a spear to ruin his cousin’s chance at winning the title, as well he should after Sikoa created his own version of The Bloodline basically behind Reigns’ back.

As for the “American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, the best entrance of the night belonged to the champ. Starting from his trailer, Cody Rhodes strode to the Gorilla position with his beloved dog, Pharaoh whose loyalty knows no bounds.. Next, Arn Anderson pops up to let the champ know, “You’ve got friends in places you know, and a few here tonight.”

With Bloodline rules as the set-up for the match it was only a matter of time for all members of The Bloodline to interfere that includes :Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa and finally Jacob Fatu, who injured his leg flying off the top of the ring post through a table along with Rhodes.  Cody had Kevin Owens and Randy Orton as backup, who joined the fray only to have the Bloodline take them out. That’s when Reigns return caused the seismic ending with Sikoa out for the count and Rhodes retaining the title.

Gunther vs Damian Priest for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

This match was to be Gunther’s crowning moment, how we got there led to the demise of the Judgment Day.  As Gunther and Priest battled it out with Finn Balor at ringside, as Priest was about to pin Gunther 1-2-3 on the 3 count, Balor pulled Gunther’s leg on the rope turning his back on his now former friend (although we saw this was coming for awhile now), Gunther locked in a choke submission after Priest tried to lunge at Balor for his portrayal and is the new WWE World Heavyweight champ.

Rhea Ripley vs. Liv Morgan for the WWE Women’s World Championship

Want further proof the Judgment Days as we know is no longer? Just look at the outcome of the this match which by the way was one of the best matches of the night and opened SummerSlam.

Photo: WWE

After Ripley “dislocated” her shoulder during the match, she slammed it into the announce desk to try and pop back while itr continued to plague her throughout. Eventually,  Morgan would sneak attack Ripley with her Oblivion finisher right on the steel chair, just as Dirty Dom  distracted the referee and wins the match pinning Ripley.  It was then apparent  Liv and Dom were in cahoots this whole time. Dom even kisses Liv to rub salt in the wound and Ripley looses her “Dom Dom” to another woman as Dom and Liv walked out of SummerSlam together.

This was Punk’s first singles match since his turn tricep and he had both McIntyre and Rollins hating his guts for different reasons. There is no love lost between McIntrye and Rollins either! During the match, Punk had McIntyre’s shoulders pinned, but Rollins wasn’t paying attention and was late to count.

Photo: WWE

Then the bracelet that Drew stole from Punk’s wrist which includes the name of his wife AJ Lee and his beloved dog Larry, had landed in the ring.  Rollins noticed the bracelet, picked it up and put it on. Punk became incensed, mhit the Go to Sleep on Rollins, and took back the bracelet. McIntyre landed another Claymore on Punk, and then staggering Rollins who was coming  gathered himself and counted  1-2-3 as McIntyre’s wins.

In other key match-ups:

WWE Women’s Championship: Nia Jax defeated Bayley to capture the belt.

WWE United States Championship: LA Knight defeated Logan Paul to win the belt.

WWE Intercontinental Champsionship  Bron Breakker defeats Sami Zyan to win the title.

How would you grade WWE SummerSlam 2024? What did you think of the return of Roman Reigns? Weigh-in below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Tries to Help Rocco Move On; Nina Makes Last Ditch Effort to Silence Drew

Published

By

Steve Burton, Finn Carr

The Friday, July 24 episode ended with quite the cliffhanger with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), pushing a wheelchair-bound Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) into the lake surrounding the Quartermaine boathouse.

Previously, Nina received a call from Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) telling her that she received very bad news from Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna).

The WSB Port Charles Bureau Chief called the congresswoman to inform her that the black box containing the leverage he has over Drew has gone missing. Saying he owed Nina, Jack was willing to provide a plane out of town for her and her children, Wiley and Amelia, with passports for new identifies, but they must leave tonight.

Willow tells her mother she can join them if she wants to, but it’s up to her since she has a life in Port Charles, but she has to go and get ready and to let her know. Suddenly, Chase (Josh Swickard) shows up at Willow’s office telling her he has to take her down to the PCPD.

DREW PUSHED INTO THE WATER IN A WHEELCHAIR

After her call with Willow, Nina becomes desperate, so she unlocks the wheels of Drew’s wheelchair in horror, when suddenly Drew speaks (as had been in the ABC promo for GH released on Monday), “What’s wrong, Nina? Get some bad news?” A shocked Nina replied, “Bad for me. Worse for you.” Suddenly, she pushes Drew’s wheelchair with Drew in it into the lake.

Meanwhile, the heart of the episode was brought by Steve Burton and Finn Carr who finally had the scenes where Jason and Rocco talk about what happened the night on the pier, when Rocco shot Cullum and Jason took the blame and was carted off by the WSB for several months.

Jason attempted to ease Rocco’s guilt telling him he is indebted to him for saving his life and Britt’s. When Rocco questioned if Jason would do the same thing all over again knowing how much it cost him, he told Rocco, that they both have to find a way to move on with their lives. Jason tells Rocco its best for him to try to let this all go. Can Rocco? Can Jason?

BRITT IS A COMMON THREAD OF JASON AND ROCCO

Rocco becomes emotional when talking to Jason about going on the run with Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), and how scared he was for her due to her “illness” with symptoms of Huntington’s.

Later, Jason comes to General Hospital and runs right into Britt, who is all smiles when she lays eyes on Jason. However, with Jason seemingly looking for a fresh start and a new outlook, is there any future for Britt and Jason after all that has happened? Stay tuned for the Monday, July 27 episode for some answers/

Now below, and in case you missed it, check out the scenes between Jason and Rocco from today’s GH.

Then let us know, what did you think of the performances of Steve Burton and Finn Carr? Do you think Nina just made everything 10,000 times worse, and Drew will be swimming around in no time in the water revealing he is A-OK much to the chagrin of Willow and Nina? THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: Katie is Disowned By The Logan Sisters

Published

Heather Tom

The Logan sisters are no more! After the Friday, July 24 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) has thrown Katie (Heather Tom) out of the family and is backed up by their sister, Donna (Jennifer Gareis).

Brooke throws down on Katie declaring, “We are no longer family! You declared war and this is the consequences!” Katie in tears stammers around the Forrester living room when Donna goes in on her too!

Donna tells Katie that her secrets and lies put her in the middle between her both her sisters and most of all, she messed with her marriage, adding, “You undermined our entire family, Katie!”

KATIE IS PILED UPON

Next, Katie makes a plea to Eric (John McCook) to tell everyone the truth, that he willingly came to work with her at Logan and promised to stand at the end of the runaway with her, hands raised in the air.  Katie cries, “Tell them!” However, Eric walks away from her and tells Donna he wants to go upstairs and lay down after Will (Crew Morrow) punched Eric in the face with a fist that was meant for R.J (Brayan Nicoletti).

Ridge tells Katie her son, Will “is a punk.” Brooke goes in at Katie once again for how her lies and machinations tore the family apart. She ends with, “You’re not welcome here anymore. Get out of this house!”

Brooke tells Katie she chose to be a Spencer and unfortunately Hope made a choice, too. The whole family is fractured according to Brooke. Donna piles up on Katie saying this is the same feeling that they felt when their father abandoned them all those years ago. Katie cries and cannot believe how they are comparing the two situations.

Donna stands with Brooke as Katie in tears says, well, if they can’t love her, she will always love them. Brooke boots her out with “Goodbye Katie.” Outside, Katie completely breaks down.

It looks like Heather Tom, a Lead Actress Daytime Emmy nominee this year, will also have quite the submission for the same category in the competition in 2027, if you combine scenes from this episode with the knockdown war of words with Brooke a month ago. Could Heather win a record-setting 7th or 8th Emmy making her the most-winning actress in daytime history? We shall see.

So, do you think the Logan sisters went overboard by disowning Katie? Will Katie decide to just go make her business a success anyway, or end up kowtowing to Brooke and Donna? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Trina Has a Stalker: Is it Simon, Quinn, or Someone From Her Past?

Published

on

By

Trina

Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) looks to be the next soap opera character to fall under the “woman being stalked or the center of someone’s obsession,” soap trope, when in the closing moments of the Wednesday, July 22 episode of General Hospital, a bulletin board was revealed covered with various photos of the budding young singer who just landed her first record label deal.

Now that GH has launched this summer mystery, the soap opera gave us two potential culprits right off the bat, although they could be major red herrings, and someone else currently on the canvas, who would be the least likely person, could be the obsessed stalker. Or, could it be a blast from the past (think the ‘late’ Esme Prince) and someone who has an ax to grind with Trina?

Here’s what went down: Simon (Grady Eldridge) revealed to Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton), Gio (Giovanni Mazza) and Trina, that the record label wants Gio and Trina to sign separate artist deals, which surprised all three. Brook Lynn talks it over with her clients, and Gio is firm. He only wants to do the deal if he and Trina come as a package. After Simon learned of their decision, we later see him on a call. On the call he says although they had signed Trina and Gio, Trina was “the one to watch.”

QUINN SHOWS UP OUT OF NOWHERE WITH APOLOGIES FOR KAI AND TRINA

Meanwhile, Trina’s boyfriend Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) ran into former friend and football teammate Quinn (Jequan Jackson in his return to GH). The last time viewers saw Quinn was back in February of 2025, when after Kai’s injury that ended his football career, Quinn blamed this all on Trina for splitting Kai’s focus between football and her, when he needed to be concentrating on his career aspirations.

As Kai is waiting for Trina (following her meeting with music executive, Simon), Quinn shows up and apologizes to Kai for speaking to Trina so badly in the wake of his accident. Quinn hopes their friendship can be repaired. Suddenly, Trina arrives and is shocked to see Quinn. He promptly apologizes to her for his past mistake and hopes they could all hang out sometime.

When Quinn makes his exit, Trina informs Kai about what happened during the record label meeting and the two kiss as the camera pana to Quinn sitting in the corner table glowering at Trina and Kai. From there, we get the full on bulletin board with cut-out pics in  a Trina collage, and the camera comes in close, and then we fade to black.

So, what do you think is going on here? Who is the obsessed stalker, or who is wanting payback on Trina? Do you think Simon or Quinn are true suspects? Could it be a very much alive Esme Prince, or someone else entirely? Weigh-in with your picks via the comment section below.
