Looks like Genoa City’s Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) familial ties will be expanding, with the return of his sister, Ana Hamilton.

The Young and the Restless has announced that Loren Lott is the recast for the role last seen in 2012.  Back then, Ana was played by Jamia Simone Nash.

Lott is a former American Idol contestant when she was a finalist back in 2015.  Look for Loren to make her Y&R debut on the upcoming November 28th episode of the top-rated daytime drama series.

Most recently, Loren starred on Broadway in Once On This Island as Ti Moune.  Her acting credits include: Greenleaf on OWN, BET’s The Quad, and a digital series, Powers.

TV Insider broke the casting news.

So, interested to see what happens when Devon’s sister shows up in GC? Comment below.

Why? Can anybody tell me? Why? Did we really need another newbie on this show? I cared about the character so much back then that I forgot who she is. So why?

Sure, I’ll tell you why. With Lily in prison and Hilary dead, there is no strong African-American woman on the canvas. (I’m not counting Lily and Cane’s daughter, who is still virtually a child.) Everyone deserves representation, and Y&R has a history of strong black female characters. The character isn’t a newbie, even if you don’t remember her for whatever reason, and she’s tied to a core member of the cast. I hope the charisma she must have shown to play Ti Moune in “Once on This Island” (that’s the demanding leading role) translates to TV and she shakes things up in Genoa City!

Fair enough. You bring up some good points. I just think they are introducing too many characters in too short a time. I am enjoying Lola and maybe I will enjoy Duh’s little sister too.

Oh, I see, the quota is down? Good answer, NOT! What about the quota of good stories?

I actually welcome the idea, as long as she sings, LOL. No, seriously……I remember Devon’s sister ( as a child) was a singer. Perhaps, Devon will give her a job as one.
You’re right…..Lily is absent; Hilary left, so…..
She and Nate will hook up? They’re not blood-related, albeit I do understand James’ objection to new casting. The revolving door never seems to stop. These new characters never stay put—constantly coming and going, making it difficult to form a connection.
The worst for me is the Rosales team. ….why? If I may echo James….. The siblings were thrown at us senselessly——at least Ana is a known character. I’d rather have her than Tessa…..
Great chance for the TPTB to get rid of Tessa……I can’t wait!!
She’s the blackmailer. How did she find out about what the women did to JT?

I agree, we had an entire family of four (now including Rey’s wife) thrown at us in a short amount of time. However, I do really adore Lola. She’s a little spit fire with a strong work ethic. I love her food truck and how motivated she is to make it as a Cuban chef. She makes me hunger for plantains! Moreover, she won’t accept any help from Kyle. I think Kyle and Lola have a lot of chemistry-they may be the best thing going on Y&R right now which isn’t saying a whole heck of a lo! But still, I love them together.

RIGHT? I mean, James, I had two reactions upon reading this post. 1. Another newbie? Hell, they just moved in the entire Rosales family and now I understand Rey’s wife is about to shore up to town. 2. This means Duh Yawn is not going anywhere. In addition to the aforementioned Rosales family, we also have Doctor Nate, and the new Jabot chemist whose name escapes me. This totals six new characters. Meanwhile, I guess Paul Williams, a legacy character has left the building, and unlike Eileen Davidson, he was given no good bye party–not even a gold watch. In fact, Paul Williams isn’t even mentioned.

Don’t forget Christian Leblanc. We see Lauren without Michael all the time now.

Mal Young is destroying Bill Bell’s legacy!!

Sorry Harry, did you not hear Rey talking to someone he addressed as Chief? Was that supposed to be Paul, I wonder? What an insult! I would rather have Paul than these six placeholders you mentioned. Now they are gearing up for Rosalesville, and the new lab woman, whom they seem to want to throw Jack’s way (perish the thought).Gosh, can things get any worse? Oh yes, I forgot our gruesome twosome, Tessa and Mariah, and our all knowing student of the Dalai Lama, Nate. What on God’s green earth were they thinking of bringing him on?

Violet, as the youngsters say,”My bad.” They also say “right?” with a question mark as to indicate that they agree with the person to whom they are responding. And I could NOT agree with you more, Miss Violet (And I have been agreeing with you a lot lately!). Not only was Doug William’s unceremoniously fired, his character just vanished with nary a word to explain his absence. Of course this is going to set up collective fan resentment at Rey’s expense. There are just too many new characters being force fed upon viewers in a very short window of time. And you speak of Doctor Nat? You mean, the hunky Ken doll who wears nothing but a stethoscope above the waist and who can’t act his way out of surgeon’s mask? The Ken doll who suddenly appears in a karate uniform? I fully expect a narrator to announce, “Introducing, Dr Nate, parts and accessories sold separately.”
Now, back to Paul. A long, long time ago when I was in middle school, I watched Y&R because I really enjoyed the Irish Catholic family known as The Williams’ family. They were the blue collar family sandwiched in the middle of the wealthy families of Genoa City like the Abbotts and the Chancelors and later, the Newmans. The Williams were the meat and potatoes of GC and there was a streak of realism running through them. I knew many Mary Williams, Paul’s Bible thumping mother who served up scripture along with her pot roast. She had doilies all over her home, croquet blankets on her couch and picture of Christ on the cross in the bathrooms. I mean, the last part is what I visualized anyway. Mary was the mother-in-law from hell attacking Paul’s wives and girl friends while treating her grown son like a precious, saintly little boy. She was wonderful and believable and so was Paul. Folks say they won’t miss Paul because he had not had a story in quite some time and this is true. But that is hardly Davidson’s fault–when he was given a story he delivered. He was able to play the tough cop who also wore his heart on his sleeve. I will never forget his anguished performance when he had to shoot his son in order to save a hostage’s life. It was gut wrenching. He deserved better.

Hi Harry, right? We are cooking on the same burner today, remembering Paul and his mom, Mary. She was something else! You mentioned pot roast and I immediately thought of the spareribs and saurkraut, she made especially for Paul. Incidently, I’ve cooked plenty of those back in the day, for my family. I laughed my head off, with your descripion of Nate. Now, how would you know he wears that stethoscope above the waist? Well, enjoy him while he’s still in single mode. I bet he gets together with Ana. I am liking the Morales clan, except for Mia, there’s only one word for her. She’s trying to put her ownership stamp on Rey, who acts like he cant stand her, and has the hots for Sharon, who sure got over Nick quick! I also like Kyle and Lola, and her Cuban food sounds yummy. I live in So. Ca,a lot of Mexican food, but no Cuban, but imagine it’s very similar.

Harry…to me, “Dr. Nate” needs to go back to acting class…AND STAY THERE…lol.

Have a good one, Harry.

Ana was not like Hillary when she was younger. I’ll bet she will be now.

My how she’s grown up.

Don’t know that I’m interested in this. Are they getting rid of Shauna? Please. At least she hasn’t been on recently.

She’s a recurring player, so they only need her when the story calls for it. And, right now, it doesn’t call for it.

Y&R Mal Young please have several seats, more newbies really? enough with the newbies, bring back Tricia Cast as Nina Webster and fire Mal Young the sob is killing Y&R to the ground.

No.

Mal is a soap killer lol. We need to find out where he lives, Sheila Carter will take care of him.

Tony…I like the way you think…lol. YEAH!!!!!

YES! Just like on GH, Y&R has dismissed a legacy family and it sucks!

Doc. Nate is very handsome but–
nothing sexy about him and that’s a shame- he could bring it if he wasn’t written/ portrayed as a mannequin ..

someone needs to put a firecracker in his pants to get some action out of him bwahaa!

This is very exciting. I liked Ana back in the day, and this casting seems to be spot on! I’m hoping this brings some exciting story, too! And they said the Winters’ family were on their way out… WRONG! Again, online “speculation” is just that… “speculation.”

Why does everyone keep saying that Mal Young is killing the show? It was Eileen Davidson’s choice to leave. She WANTED to. Ana is NOT a new character. Y&R has a history of strong african american women, so for me this is welcomed. I have been looking forward to them bringing her back and she is gorgeous. As far as Paul, i am against axing legacy characters but there was no telling how much his salary was. They will probably bring him back at some point. He didnt have an exactly sizzling story and he has no kids in GC. His marriage to Christine is honestly as exciting as watching paint dry. They havent been a hot couple since the 90s. Sorry. His last good story was Danny/Christine/Paul triangle…again in the 90s early 2000s. As far as the Rosales family, they have been brough on WAY too fast. I get diversity but slow it down. A brother/sister pair wouldve been fine, but 3 siblings AND an incoming ex wife is overkill. The actor playing Arturo is not attractive. Rey seems forced with Sharon. Jordi Vilasuso hasnt had a decent soap role since GL. His stint on DAYS was horrible as well. Nate, a legacy character is underutilized. They need to bring back Olivia and settle whatever beef with Victoria Rowell and resurrect Drucilla. I would watch that!

All the new characters that are being hired, they could easily pay for Paul and bring back his daughter Heather.

y&R going down big time great storyline years ago with shiela stealing Lauren’s baby Catherine chancellor being kidnapped and Larry living I. Her home good storylines arturo stinks talks with marbles in his mouth and a skunk on his head ray does nothing but stare and always in your face and the new woman they bring in to replace Ashley all new people who bring nothing to the soapboring

Ana was a pushy, obnoxious child with a big mouth whom I used to wish gone every time she was on. Sure, let’s bring her back. Meanwhile we’re reeling from the loss of major legacy characters like Paul and Ashley and Rey “the Great Unshaven” Rosales is supposed to fill the void? WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?

LOL, Soaphound, you tell it As you see it. Yes, Ana was as obnoxious as “divan”…..but, she’s all grown up and if her casting means getting rid of Tessa, I’m all in!! I disliked her BEFORE she even stepped foot in GC……and, I hadn’t even heard of her!! How unreasonable am I?

Oh, joy – a character from the Maria Arena Bell era is returning – a character nobody misses.

#FIREMALYOUNG

And this is necessary because?????

Why Devon’s sister? Will she fall for Cane to cause a love triangle? How about a new love interest for Devon? Ahere was she for hilary’s death? If an adult in 2018 it aint too hard to come for a damn funeral in the middle of the country!

Too many new faces and not enough story build up for them. The chemist is telling Billy – a board member n stock holder off and then thinking after 3 days she has the right to tell Jack Abott how to treat the woman who cheated on him with his brother and her ex hisband!!! Seriously tell her to know her place AND THAT AINT SEXIST.

As for the instant cuba clan, while i like arturo n lola REY AND HIS SOON TO ARRIVE WIFE are pushing it. I dont care for him and whether his wofe cheated on him . He’s a dick and needs to go.

Now devons soster. Ugh

Omg this mal young is getting to be a real pain in the ass with all of the new additions to this show.

isnt jordi the new steve b over at yandr rey is taking over genoa city make it stop and dont anyone say him and sharon have more chemistry than nick and sharon noooo

Oh great, MORE reasons to focus on Devon! Why doesnt CBS see this actor is horrible in this role? Well, more FF on the ole remote!

Timm, he is horrible and never shows any sign of improvement. How can someone have the same job for so long and never get better?

AGREED! AWFUL!

Does Devon ever work he. Is boring too no story line to catch the interest of the fans this storyline with JT is dragged out long enough pls bring good writers inwho can put good storylines back

AGREED. & Devon always looks like he is smelling something foul.

Does Nate ever work, or does he just butt into everyone’s business, and act as a “know it all?”

OK…I tell you what: I just hope that NuAna isn’t a STUPID SNOOZEFEST like NuNate is.

Later.

Ewwwwww. Right, Jay? I can’t stand Nate…..not only that; I wish I knew what his role is?? Baffling….I think he has the hotties for Victoria.
I am not a fan of the Hamilton/Winters ….nor do I like the Rosales brothers. Lola is Ok, I guess….
Rey’s wife?……Hmmmm. What a contrary woman. She’s pretty tenacious, I must say. Rey has no interest in her–sexual or otherwise. Yet, she clings!! I don’t care for these people…..unfortunately Sharon is unwittingly caught up in their stupid drama!
Tell me you agree, Jay….You better. LOL.❤️

Celia…you are too hilarious…lol. Anyway, I agree with everything that you said. Also, to me, Mia (Rey’s wife) has some serious jealousy and possessiveness issues. Yikes. Oh…the fact that Mia and Rey’s brother Auturo had an affair…PAGING JERRY SPRINGER…lol. Oh…and BTW, Celia…you are NOT unreasonable…I (also) want Tessa GONE!!!!! To me, whenever Tessa opens her stupid mouth, Mariah ends up getting hurt…and lied to. Beyond dumb.

Later, my friend.

I tuned in yesterday since I was home. I haven’t watched since Eileen left. The show is awful. The focus is on Rey and HIS ENTIRE family. No thanks. Won’t be tuning in anytime (again) soon. Also, Devon is one of the worst characters on the show, so, NO THANKS! & don’t get me started on “Messa.” BO-RING!

They just keep bringing in new people who are all not talented get rid of that young girl now living with Devon to make room for Anna dug her up from where get rid of Devon no talent does he or Nate work he is a dr never see him with a patient take summer too it’s gone downhill since Catherine died nothing that holds anyone’s interest and where is Michael Baldwin did they kick him to the curb very soon it will b cancelled

Let me say that Arturo Rey and that horrendous woman that brought in to play his wife is a big mouth no talent blimp Arturo has no appeal his skunk on his head is hideous this show had class now it’s in the ditch why are they digging Anna up another minority to bring in bc Lilly is gone now they will beat that to death no thanks no class the Abbott family was about success and how a company was built Paul is gone and we now hv lurch Rey so sad get rid of the writers bring Adam back Chelsea

Judy, I must say that you have said some things, a lot of us are thinking, but afraid to say. Everyone is in fear of saying the wrong thing, for fear of being called a racist or offending, but guess what, things are worse than they’ve ever been.

Violet they don’t care what the fans want they hv their own ideas they brought I another family Rosales Abbott’s ate kicked to the curb I remember mamie the housekeeper she was like family John Abbott everything is being replaced Adam was such a great character him and victor but heads summer got him fired she is awful little brat she shd b kicked to the curb Devon is a bore

At first I had no memory that Devon had a sister, then I remember she was last seen as a young girl singing. So she should be in her late teens or early 20s now. This woman looks at least 30 right?

All they had to do was be fair with Ed Mm CK and DD but they were not! You can bring new familiesxintova soap but you can’t shove them down somebody’s throat five days a week ! I have not watched in months if it got canceled tomorrow I could care less! Respect for you audience is all anybody has ever asked !

I’m sick of watching the character of Devon. Loren Lott is gorgeous and a good actor.

Hayden Panettiere Remembered: ‘Guiding Light’ and More Stars Mourn Her Loss in Wake of Tragic Death

Published

Hayden Panettiere

Tributes continue to pour in from the entertainment and soap opera community, and especially from former co-stars of Hayden Panettiere, who died on Sunday at the age of 36.

Panetierre was best-known to soap fans for her roles as as a young Lizzie Spaulding on Guiding Light and Sarah Roberts on One Life to Live, and as an adult in ABC’s music city primetime soap opera, Nashville where she starred as Juliette Barnes opposite General Hospital alum, Jonathan Jackson (ex-Lucky, GH and ex-Avery, Nashville).

As previously reported, Panettiere died on Sunday afternoon, August 16 in a home in Greenville, South Carolina. The coroner released an official statement on Monday, which read in part “no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death. The cause and manner of death remain pending further investigation and the completion of additional studies.” First responders rushed to the scene after a 911 call about a woman who was unresponsive from an overdose and in cardiac arrest.

Now below, check out some of the heartfelt remembrances for the extraordinarily talented, Hayden Panettiere from several of her Guiding Light co-stars and more. Michael Fairman TV will continue to add to the list of tributes throughout the next few days as they become available, as well as keep you updated on any further developments in Panettiere’s death.

Beth Chamberlin (Beth Raines, GL): “Hayden played my daughter for 3 years. She was the most brilliant child actor I’ve ever seen.  The things she could do, the way she could remember 20+ pages of dialogue, day after day.  Even on days where the director would come out between dress and tape and make huge cuts to the scenes, Hayden, never once forgot a line or missed her blocking.  The adults would, but not Hayden.  I felt blessed to work with her. And always perfect in her playing of the scene.”

Connie Britton (Rayna James, Nashville): “This was Hayden. Bursting with brilliance, shining so bright. I have no words for this sad song. Just heartbreak.
I love you girl. Sleep easy now. 💔”

Tina Sloan (Lillian Raines, GL): “Hayden Panettiere was my granddaughter on Guiding Light. She died at 36 and was such a star.”

Rebecca Budig (ex-Michelle Bauer, GL, now Taylor, B&B): “I remember working alongside her..loved her and her family. She and Beth were spectacular together. So sad for her family and those who knew and loved her.”

Karla Mosley: (Dani Dupree, BTG) “This is awful awful news. Blessings to her soul and all who loved her.”

Photo: CBS

Bethany Joy Lenz: (ex-Michelle Bauer, GL) “There is nothing that posting pictures on the internet can do. I avoid it usually in moments like this. But Im here with my head in my hands and I don’t know what else to do in aside from praying for her soul, which I have done and will continue. I’m crushed. I knew the wild little blonde. Was she nine? Ten? I was eighteen. She ran through the Screen Gem studio hallways at 222 E44th St. laughing and playing games in between Guiding Light blocking and camera rehearsals. Long, unruly curls trailing behind her. She knew her lines and everyone else’s. Her intelligence was astonishing. She understood scenes and nuance and human struggle like no child I’d ever seen on camera. And she’d sit with you for a great conversation, then giggle and go play. We’d connect on and off over the years, like the cousin in the family reunion who got famous and life moved her away—but I always felt such joy seeing her when we were lucky enough to cross paths. We’d make a pact to talk soon. Lunch. Dinner. Somewhere we could curl up into a corner—but we never quite made it happen. I mostly stayed up to date through mutual friends.”

Lenz continued, “I don’t understand how this is real. Everything seemed to be turning around. She was coming BACK to life, wasn’t she? It’s too young and there’s still so much more life. And her daughter…. Hayden, you are surround by love. I’m sorry for every moment I didn’t reach out or check in. This can’t be real. These are moments of how I knew you, in glimpses over 26 years. I don’t know how to process this. I am praying for you to know the peace of God now and always.”

Brittany Snow: (ex-Daisy Lemay, GL) “I was lucky enough to play your sister for 3 years. I related to you so much in so many ways. Ways that I never even told you. Your talent was remarkable & so was your determination to be a bold, bright shining light. And you were. Always supportive, curious, funny and brave. You will always be remembered undoubtedly for your undeniable strength and spirit 💔.”

Charles Esten, Hayden Panettiere

Photo: CestenIG

Charles Esten (ex-Deacon Clayborne, Nashville): Patty (Esten’s wife) and I are stunned and saddened at the loss of our dear and beautiful friend Hayden. I will never forget the first time I met her. In a sound stage office in Hollywood, I was finishing up my very first NASHVILLE audition. I had read two Deacon scenes before pulling out my guitar and singing two songs. I said my goodbyes and, hoping I’d done well, went to open the door to leave. Instead of swinging all the way out, the door bumped into somebody. Kinda hard.”

“To my complete surprise, It was Hayden Paniettiere, who – in full Juliette Barnes mode – had been listening with her ear to the door. Instead of looking even a little bit caught, her face instantly bloomed into the most beautiful smile. Eyes twinkling, she clapped her hands and said, “That was so good!!” I can promise you that in that moment, there was nothing in the world I needed to hear more than that. I told her that, along with my HEROES-watching family, I was already a big fan of hers, and that I was grateful for the very kind words. It was her turn to go in, so as I went to leave, I said a jokingly cocky, “See you on the set!”

“I was, of course, many auditions away from landing that incredible role. But when I finally did, and showed up in Nashville to start work, she walked right up to me, pointed in my face, and with that magical grin said, “See you on the set!” From there, we became fast friends, working very hard to play those 2 troubled Nashvillians, but always having fun and laughing a whole lot along the way. She was, of course, extraordinarily talented, infusing her larger-than-life character with all the heart, charisma, humor, whip-smart intelligence, and flat-out magic that were, alongside whatever troubles and pain she carried, a part of her own personal palette. What a great gift it was to act with her, sing with her, and to just be her friend. She was always extremely kind to my family, especially my wife, Patty, who I’m certain she liked even more than me.”

Together, we are heartbroken that she is gone, and praying for her family, and for all those who, like us, will miss and mourn her so dearly. God bless you, Hayden.
Rest In Peace and Light ❤️

Emme Rylan: (ex-Lizzie Spaulding, GL et al.)” So very sad. Rest in peace sweet soul.”

Bryan Craig: (ex-Morgan, GH) posted a text exchange via his Instagram story he had with Panettiere where they laughed about her making fun of his hat. He wrote: “Love you Hayden. Rest in peace Angel.” Craig later added, “Cherish the moments with people you love and care about. As cliche as it sounds. Send that text, get that cup of coffee, tell them you love them and you’re proud of them. You may not get the chance again.”

John Oliver Recaps His ‘Days of Our Lives’ and ‘General Hospital’ Soap Opera Experience on ‘Last Week Tonight’

Published

on

By

John Oliver

Last Week Tonight host, John Oliver had his soap dreams come true on not one, but two long-running daytime dramas, heralding it his “hot soap summer” on the Sunday night, August 16 edition of his HBO series.

As viewers recall, Oliver’s tour of soap duty began back in March when he made a request and an offer to appear in any daytime drama that would have him with certain conditions, which included: having a ridiculous and over the top character name, a juicy storyline, and a slap.

Both Days of Our Lives and General Hospital came a-calling for Oliver, taking him up on his offer and in short order. Oliver appeared on GH in the role of the head of the WSB named  Z on episodes airing July 2-6, and then on DAYS in the role of Salem’s chief water inspector, Devlin St. John, in episodes that streamed the week of August 11.

Photo: ABC

FIRST STOP, PORT CHARLES

On Last Week Tonight, Oliver shared that both soaps delivered, and then launched into a comedic send-up complete with clips from some of his scenes. Starting with General Hospital.

Oliver said, “To General Hospital’s credit, they met all my requirements and more. First, my character got to arrive by a helicopter flanked by a pair of armed goons. And I got to do a dramatic walk during which I bravely shot in the general direction of a guy who was already on the ground. It’s called being an action star, by the way, unless you’re me or Vin Diesel, you really wouldn’t understand. And then in my next scene, I revealed my true identity. (Oliver played the scene where Josslyn wakes up in a hospital bed with Z standing at the side of her bed introducing himself).

He continued, “As for getting slapped, well, they knocked that and me out of the park too, because it turns out that agent’s mother was not happy with me,” explained Oliver, as they cut to the slap of Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) in the WSB Port Charles bureau office on Z. Oliver screamed, “YES! It has everything! A slap, a dramatic closeup, and me doing a voice so wrong, it is genuinely embarrassing. That was my honest attempt at an American accent. I can’t tell you why it’s southern. I can only tell you I was trying my hardest.”

Photo: ABC

SECOND STOP, SALEM

Then, came John’s wrap-up of his role of Devlin St. John on Days of Our Lives, the town’s chief city water inspector. “It is on Days of Our Lives I appeared in scenes alongside soap legends like Jackée Harry (Paulina) and Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie). And the Days of Our Lives team met my demands in a whole different way because instead of being an international spy boss, they wrote me a character a little more my speed.”

Cut to a clip of Oliver introducing himself as Devlin St. John to Rita. He explains, “I’m the only thing standing between this town and a catastrophic plumbing failure. A literal sewage apocalypse. They made me Salem’s Chief City Water Inspector, which let’s be honest, is perfect casting. If you’re going to bottle my essence and sell it as cologne, it would be called ‘Chief City Water Inspector.'”

DEVLIN’S WIG

The late night host also clarified all the reports, that the wig he wore for his DAYS character he actually brought from home. “Now, as for the hair, I agree, it’s absolutely incredible. It’s been reported this past week that it is a wig I brought to set from home. And while it wasn’t technically from home, we did actually provide that wig, and for good reason,” joked Oliver. “I’ve seen myself act. I knew the hair was going have to do 90% of the work. I’ll be honest, I was going for a healthy John Stamos (ex-Blackie, GH) look, but instead, it appears I ended up looking more like Tina from Bob’s Burgers.”

Photo: Corday Productions

“And if you’re wondering whether I got slapped on Days of Our Lives, not only was I slapped by a man wearing elegant silk pajamas (EJ), I also got to slap him, which felt utterly incredible. But wait, I was also stabbed with a syringe and not once, not even twice, but three different times. And if that wasn’t enough, this happened too.” At that point, Oliver played the clip of Rita using the taser on Devlin.

JOHN OLIVER LEAVES DOOR OPEN FOR A SOAP RETURN

The now late night star-turned-soap actor concluded his segment with, “Are you not entertained? Watching that makes me feel the way I assume Matt Damon felt after seeing the first cut of the Odyssey, both proud and impressed that my body could even do that. Which again, you wouldn’t understand. You’re not an action star like I am now. ”

As he ended his recap, Oliver thanked both soaps for playing along, and noting that neither DAYS or GH actually killed him off! Could a John Oliver return happen down the line? Stay tuned.

Watch John detail his soap dreams come to life on General Hospital and then Days of our Lives below.

Now let us know, what did you think of the performances of John Oliver on General Hospital and Days of our Lives? Did you prefer one over the other or enjoy both of his guest arc visits? Could you see Oliver nominated in the Guest Performer category at next year’s Daytime Emmys, even for a 3-episode run on one of the soaps? Let us know in the comment section.

According to a report on Sunday night, August 16 from TMZ, who broke the news of Hayden’s passing. Panettiere was also well-known for her role in the primetime series Heroes.

Sources close to the situation have told the outlet that Panettiere died on Sunday, although details of her death are still undisclosed, there is a current ongoing investigation into the matter. Brian Hickerson’s, Panetierre’s on-again off-again boyfriend and her flew from Los Angeles to South Carolina on Saturday. They reported, it’s a “sad situation.”

Now, in the early hours of Monday, morning August 17, new details have emerged that first responders and paramedics responded to a call from a friend (not confirmed at this time it was Brian Hickerson) at a home in Greenville, South Carolina at 1:51pm who said that Panettiere was unresponsive and in cardiac arrest.

PARAMEDICS CALLED TO THE SCENE

According to the outlet, first responders attempted to resuscitate Panettiere using “advanced cardiac life support.” In addition to CPR, this involved special medicines, breathing tubes and heart rhythm tracking. Parademics could not bring Hayden back to life and at 2:32pm, they called her death.

The Greenville County coroner is set to perform an autopsy Monday to determine a cause and manner of death and at present there is no indication that foul play was involved. According to dispatch audio, paramedics are called it an “overdose,” and “cardiac arrest.”

Meanwhile, the actress’ father, Skip Panettiere offered a up this statement to ABC News. “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. FROM HER EARLY YEARS ON ONE LIFE TO LIVE AND GUIDING LIGHT TO HEROES AND NASHVILLE

Panettiere began her career at a very young age with roles on television and film including her Daytime Emmy-nominated role as the original Lizzie Spaulding, the daughter of Phillip (Grant Aleksander) and Beth Raines (Beth Chamberlin) on CBS’ Guiding Light. HAYDEN PANETTIERE RELEASED MEMOIR EARLIER IN 2026

Back on May 19, 2026, Hayden released a memoir titled This Is Me: A Reckoning, which talked about her struggles from childhood to adulthood in front of the camera and off including her battles with alcohol and pill addiction, postpartum depression and more.

Sadly, Hayden’s brother Jansen Panettiere (pictured above), died suddenly back in February 2023 from cardiomegaly (enlarged heart) coupled with aortic valve complications. He was only 28 at the time of his death. Hayden told PEOPLE that she would never be able to get over her brother’s death, citing, “No matter how many years go by, I will never get over his loss.”

Panettiere is the mother to one child, her daughter Kaya Klitschko, 11, whom she had in December of 2014 with her ex-fiancé, heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.

This is a developing story and Michael Fairman TV will provide updated information and details on the passing of Hayden Panettiere as they become available.
