November sweeps brings with it big returns and surprises … and now comes word that the much talked about Phillip “Chance” Chancellor IV is coming back to The Young and the Restless.

But this tine it won’t be John Driscoll taking on the role but actor Donny Boaz who has been cast by the CBS Daytime drama series.

Boaz has numerous film and television credits. Those include a recurring role on NCIS: New Orleans and the Lifetime movie Hometown Christmas.

Donny took to his Instagram account to announce he landed the part on Y&R expressing:  “Soooo… this happened. I signed a multi-year deal and have now been working on “The Young and the Restless” for 6 weeks. And now, I finally get to share it with my friends and family. I will be playing Chance Chancellor. It’s been a fun and amazing ride so far. Easily the hardest, fast paced job I’ve ever had and it’s as equally rewarding. I feel so very thankful and grateful for this new journey. I want to thank my manager, @jpriluck123 and my agents, @hritalent Thank you Team. Here we go.
My first episode will air on 11/08, definitely tune in the 11th-15th. The stories are getting good.”

Circle this Friday, November 8th when Chance makes a stunning re-emergence on the Genoa City canvas.

What will Chance’s return mean for the Winters, Hamilton, Chancellor, and Abbott clans?  Stay tuned.

So, glad to know that Y&R is finally bringing Chance on to the screen? Comment below.

Who is this Phillip?

Jill’s grandson from Phillip Chancellor lll,,,,her son with Katherine’s husband, Phillip ll. His smother is Nina Webster . I hope they also bring her back,,,,,Tisha Cast is wonderful.

Jill’s son Phillip lives in Australia and revealed he was gay after Cane impersonated him (that’s how Cane came onto the show)

This got my attention. Nice that the character is older. Welcome to the party, Mr. Boaz. Be present and take it in. There are no fans like soap fans…take any criticism with a grain of salt. Chance Chancellor…great soap name. Nina, come home!

It’s just sad that after Kristoff that his buddies and the Winters story line is being lost, Lilly could have been replaced and losing Cane/Daniel Goddard is just wrong! It’s just heartbreaking! You’ll miss him..hopefully he will get a great new part and Y/R will just keep hiring newbies that we could care less about.

I too need some help, and my questions don’t necessarily fall into line with the issue at hand, but who is Kyle’s mother and who is Billy’s mother?

I do recall Nina. There is a recollection that during her time on the program, perhaps one of her relatives, jumped out of a window. Nina would be a great character to return.

Help! So many new characters made one realize that I don’t recall some basic concepts of the program. Thanks!

Tani…Kyle’s mum is Diane Jenkins. She was killed by Nikki Newman. Billy’s mum is Jill Foster Abbott and he was fathered by the late John Abbott. Hope this helps! X

Thank you. I think I knew Jill was Billy’s mom, but must have been traveling regarding Kyle; that information is new to me. So, Nikki killed someone? OK!

Tani Sterling… Our Nikki has actually killed several times through the years; starting with her father, Nick Reed (who was actually played by the same actor who played REX STERLING many years later), and apparently when she was a child having shot and killed Bobby Marsino’s brother by accident while playing with a gun, and then Diane Jenkins who was killed by a blow to the head! She has been around the block quite a bit has our Nikki! X

I have no memory of Nikki killing Dianne, and I would have been watching back then. How come she didn’t go to jail. Also interesting that Kyle hasn’t got resentment for the woman that killed his mother.

stevie g…You know what, you are correct and I do apologize. The story line dragged on for six months and Nikki was accused of killing Diane in self defence. A video later proved that Deacon Sharpe (who was married to Nikki at the time) actually gave Diane the fatal blow to the head with a rock. The story dragged on for so long I had quite forgotten that bit! Soz! X

What is Phillip up to? We know it has something to do with Adam and Chelsea…

What is Chance up to? We know it has something to do with Chelsea and Adam……but, what?

I know cane is up to “no good” with Catherine’s $!!!

Stay calm, he’ll be gone soon.

OMG, he looks like Steve Burton’s younger brother. I like him already, of course I’ve been fooled before. I sure don’t want to see him with Phyllis, Abby maybe.

I also thought he looked a lot like Steve Burton. I did a double take!

Danielle, So glad someone finally agrees with me. I could not believe the resemblance, even the crashing through the ceiling like Jason.
Who do you think they will pair him up with? Looked like today that he kind of liked Abby, of course Phyllis had to push her big nose in, as usual. Sorry, Iam not one of her fans.

His character is so arrogant, but I remember him as a nice guy. He also seems a lot older than he should be, its odd that he seems only ten years younger than Cane, yet Cane was once assumed to be Phillip, Chances Dad. It was his half brother Ronin that was more arrogant. I thought Ronan was the FBI agent and not Chase. Am I wrong? Chase was previously involved with Chloe on the show.

I loved the character of Ronan and the actor who played him. SEXY!

The new Chance is very good looking and doing a great job in the role of him!!!!!!

ABC Announces ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Texas Spin-Off Gets Straight-to-Series Order

Published

By

In a surprise move, coming a week after ABC unveiled its 2026-2027 fall television schedule, Grey’s Anatomy is getting a new spinoff co-created by the original series’ creator/executive producer Shonda Rhimes.

The new untitled medical drama will be written and executive produced by Rhimes and Grey’s Anatomy showrunner/executive producer Meg Marinis under the Shondaland and 20th Television umbrella. In addition, long-running ‘Grey’s’ star Ellen Pompeo will also serve as an EP of the spinoff.

The upcoming new series will debut midseason in 2027. This will be the first of Grey’s franchise not set in urban city or West Coast locale. According to Deadline, the new “edgy drama is about a team at a rural West Texas medical center — the last chance for care before miles of nowhere.”

In a statement, Marinis shared, “I am incredibly excited to expand the Grey’s Anatomy universe. This opportunity will bring new characters and stories to life that will embody the same heart, emotion and connection audiences have loved from Grey’s for more than two decades — all set in my home state of Texas. I am so grateful to Shonda Rhimes for creating this dynamic world and feel so fortunate that I get to be a part of it.”

A NEW GROUP OF DOCTORS IN RURAL TEXAS

The Texas spinoff will feature a a new group of doctors, but there will be some connection to the OG Grey’s Anatomy and possibly to Debbie Allen’s character of Catherine Fox. The amount of episodes in the series order has not yet been determined. Previous Grey’s Anatomy spinoffs were the defunct Station 19 and Private Practice.

Previously, Grey’s Anatomy was renewed for its upcoming 23rd season while the amount of episodes is unclear.  The last two seasons the series produced 18 episodes.

It should also be noted, Grey’s Anatomy and the Texas spinoff would likely share a time period, which requires limited-run orders for both with Grey’s premiering in the fall, followed by the spinoff on the midseason programming block.

So, what do you think about a Texas spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy coming in 2027? Who would you like to see from daytime or primetime as some of the featured roles as new doctors? Put on your casting directors hat and let us know via the comment section below.
