The Young and the Restless, Michelle Stafford hosted a private get-together Thursday evening attended by some of the biggest names in daytime including: Days of our Lives, James Scott, Sarah Brown, Peter Reckell, Arianne Zuker, and Patrick Muldoon, General Hospital’s Nancy Lee Grahn, The Young and the Restless, Christian LeBlanc, Jessica Collins, Stacy Haiduk, Kate Linder.

The event was to introduce the soap community to the efforts of The Earth Organization which is independent, grass roots, international non-profit, conservation and environment organization, with new solutions, committed to the creative, responsible rehabilitation of Planet Earth and the plant and animal kingdoms.

Special guest of the evening, Barbara Wiseman from The Earth Organization, informed those in attendance of the damage that is happening in the Gulf of Mexico from the Gulf Oil disaster and how it is not cleaned up.  And because of that, the Gulf is still in extremely bad shape, due to toxic chemicals that are still being sprayed, which are severely affecting the marine life, wildlife, and people living in the Gulf. However, Wiseman says that the organization has identified a solution to rectify the damages.

Michelle Stafford spoke to On-Air On-Soaps on why it was important for her to bring awareness of the organization to the soap community: “What people need to know is what is really happening in the Gulf.  It has been swept under the rug.  People have forgotten everyone in the Gulf.  There are people still dealing with this now, just like they did after Katrina.  We can’t keep on forgetting about people. It’s about us as a group and this country. We need to do something about this.  I am so moved about this cause, because people don’t know, and should know, that there is this toxic substance that in the water, and that oil is still in the water. Our marine life is dying and people have gotten sick. Everything is going to be found out. We will do something, but it has to happen with a group.  So by having this get-together tonight, I wanted to start something.  I brought soap actors with big twitter accounts! (Laughs).  But really, I invited those from daytime who are very environmentally and socially conscious.

You will be hearing more from those in attendance and some of your favorite daytime stars in the coming days on how you can become involved and help The Earth Organization and learn more.  For now you can visit www.theearthorganization.org for more information.

Judith Chapman Returning to The Young and the Restless

And now for some more mamma drama! Judith Chapman is set for another return to The Young and the Restless in her role as Gloria Fisher.

That means that we hopefully will see scenes between Chapman and her two on-screen sons, Greg Rikaart (Kevin) and Christian LeBlanc (Michael).

Soap Opera Digest broke the bit of casting news.

Chapman was last seen in the role in 2018 and then headed over to Days of our Lives to play Diana for awhile.

Judith took over the role of Gloria in 2005 replacing Knots Landing favorite, Joan Van Atk.

Glad to hear Judith will be back on our daytime screens? Comment below.

Greg Vaughan Shares Farewell To DAYS & Scene Partner Arianne Zucker: “Never a Dull Moment, Laughing or Crying, She was the Party, Always with a smile!”

Tuesday’s episode of Days of our Lives had Eric Brady saying a sudden farewell to his loved ones before he departs Salem for Africa to help those in need.  That marks the on-screen departure of Daytime Emmy winner, Greg Vaughan who will last be seen on Wednesday’s episode.

As DAYS fans were aware, Greg wrapped his run months ago on the NBC daytime drama series, but since before the Covid-19 pandemic DAYS taped almost seven months ahead, Eric’s on-screen exit is airing this week.

The actor also posted a special photo album of pics with his longtime on-screen partner and love interest, Arianne Zucker (Nicole).  In that, he posted this message: “To my Ride or Die partner Ari!! Never a dull moment, laughing or crying, she was the party, always with a smile! Love ya #ERICOLE”

WATCH: Ellen DeGeneres Address Toxic Workplace Issues & How She is a ‘Work in Progress’ in Talk Show Season Opener

Today marks the return of daytime’s Ellen DeGeneres Show for its 18th season in syndication.  Ahead of its airing, the show dropped the video of Ellen’s opening monologue where she addresses to the audience at home the allegations that came to light over the summer regarding her, and the toxic work environment behind the scenes of her popular series.

Those allegations prompted an internal investigation by WarnerMedia, which led to the dismissal of several key producers at the talk show.

Previously, Ellen shared that she would address what had happened during the new season, but she did so at the top of its first episode back, and repeated some of the same sentiments she also shared in a letter to her crew and staffers.

DeGeneres expressed  “I know that I’m in a position of privilege and power, and I realize that with that comes responsibility, and I take responsibility for what happens at my show. This is The Ellen DeGeneres Show. I am Ellen DeGeneres.”  She was quick to point out that she is turning the page and that “today, we are starting a new chapter.”

Addressing what has been her off-screen behavior vs. her on-air persona, Ellen said: “The truth is, I am that person that you see on TV. I am also a lot of other things.  Sometimes I get sad. I get mad. I get anxious. I get frustrated. I get impatient. And I am working on all of that. I am a work in progress… I don’t think I’m that good of an actress that I could come out here every day for 17 years and fool you. This is me, and my intention is to always be the best person I can be. And if I’ve ever let someone down, if I’ve ever hurt their feelings, I’m so sorry for that.”  Within the monologue she shares how she became known as the “Be Kind Lady” a moniker that also came back to bite her during the summer.

So, what do you think about what Ellen has to say at the top of the new season of her show? Do you think this is enough of an explanation to the public? Are you ready to watch her new season? Comment below.
