Y&R's Amelia Heinle On Billy Miller's Upcoming Departure: "I'm extremely sad to see my friend and partner for the last five years go!"

On-Air On-Soaps knows so many of you reached out to us when we interviewed Billy Miller (Billy Abbott) and Amelia Heinle (Victoria) together for a one of a kind interview back in April 2011, and let us know how much you enjoyed the on-screen duo of Villy!
But as they say, all good things must come to an end, and as much as Amelia Heinle and many others hoped two-time Daytime Emmy winner, Billy Miller would sign a new contract with the number one soap, he made the decision to leave the role of Billy Abbott, a role he has made his own!
Tonight, Amelia Heinle addressed via her Twitter account Miller’s upcoming exit with a few very touching sentiments for her co-star!
Amelia related: “I’m extremely sad to see my friend and partner for the last five years go… Last few days have been hard and will continue to be so. But I’m very proud of You Billy for taking a role and making it one that no one will forget ever. You are beloved by so many people.”
As previously announced, starting in January, David Tom, the original Billy Abbott, steps back into the role! Do you think Billy and Victoria will even be together by that time? What do you think of Amelia’s loving words to the incomparable Mr. Miller? Comment below!
“yet” another sad state of affairs goings on at Y&R
I wish you the BEST Amelia Heinle.
here’s hoping: a trio of heightened intensifying daring drama… with Victoria/Stitch/Chloe
I find it strange that she can’t count. She has been paired/partnered with him 3 years not 5 years. She was working with her husband 4/5 years ago. She has nice sentiments and all but I dislike these two together. I love Billy Miller, he’s crazy talented but this is one of my least favorite pairings ever. Billy Miller was underused in this story pairing with Victor and Victoria. He was so charming from 2008 – 2009 then 2010 happened and it all went to hell. So, I am glad he is leaving and hoping upon hope that because DT looks so much younger than AH even though he is older than BM that they can’t pair up this awful pairing ever again!!
I wish Billy Miller all the best in his future, I am certain he is gonna soar high!!
Billy has been on the show since 2008, so she was working with him for 5 yrs even though her character was paired up with him for only 3. 😉
She’s wonderful. They obviously had something very special together and I will never forget their Villy. Maybe one day they can be again
Did JPF/ Sony/CBS/ really try and resign Billy Miller? Were they willing to let him go without a fight? Don’t know if we will ever get the truth????
Sue all I know is twitter has been on fire about this with so much verbal sparring going on who knows now the word is out he quit a month ago because they would not give him outs. I think he owns a restaurant also the man will not starve and he will continue to act maybe he was unhappy just wish him well and yes it is always hard to lose a friend that you enjoy working with. Maybe on down the road Mr. Fairman can get an interview with him.
Nothing to do with Jill and/or CBS and Sony. Billy’s always been difficult when it comes to contract negotiations. And only signing a one-year deal last year, people should’ve stopped being dumb and seen that he was leaving.
theirs’ a daring “let” that pulls and magnifies… our lead… and when it’s out… it’s abysmal…
a glaring insufferable overture(s) that lends itself to reign yourself in
i’ve salivated on
dined
you know: I should add
their is; so much sexiness going on in daytime
that, every thing else pales in comparison… and so do I
I’m going to miss Billy Miller SOOOO much!!! I love him as Billy Abbott!!! I can’t stand David Tom & I think he’s going to b horrible as Billy!!! I wish Billy Miller all the luck in the world!!!
How right you are! What do the Y&R and Bold and the Beautiful and Beautiful see in those Thoms? Both he and his sister Heather suck big. I can’t stand them!!!
I find too many good things end in January. The final episodes of Santa Barbara and One Life To Live aired in January. Now I have Billy Miller’s final air date as Billy Abbott. He is irreplaceable. For me, January is a sad month for television. If you are reading this Mr. Miller, I want you to know that you will be missed. I haven’t been this sad since January 15, 2012 when One Life To Live aired its final episode on ABC.
I remember Santa Barbara. Why do my favorite soaps have to end?
Well, somebody has to play the role since Billy is leaving and David is a good choice but he sure is not a Billy Miller. I dont think he matches up with AH for age and looks.
He’d make a great Dillon Quartermaine!
I totally agree!
She’s amazing and so are they. So many memories. Great couple, great friends. I will always love this Villy and hope they work together again
Billy miller can become a porn star. i would love to see that. lol
Very nice! I wish Billy all good things and hope Amelia and David will develop chemistry if the charcters will still be together. Sorry to see him go and hang in there Amelia!
David Tom made the role beloved. Amelia obviously isn’t familiar with Billy and Mac’s love story. . Billy Miller played a great version but let’s not forget it was Billy as played by David Tom who defined the show’s very title ‘young and restless’ and ushered in its final most memorable love story with Mac. Thankfully with David returning to his rightful place, Villy fans won’t be able to rewrite the character’s history anymore.
Dito
I’m sure she WILL miss him…without Billy, the character of Victoria is nothing! 🙁 She was very boring before him.
Billy Miller Is a Natural! I will miss him 🙁
Amelia is a real class act. They were magic together, and people should really cut her a break. She was FANTASTIC during the killing of Delia.
When the ptb said they were taking Billy in a new direction I imagine that means the character’s marriage to Vicky is over. I rather enjoyed the Romeo and Juliet vibe– members of warring families finding love together with tragic outcomes and all that dramatic stuff– but in soaps stories change direction all the time especially when new writers take over. It is a shame he is leaving because finding that right combo of chemistry and skill that goes into creating a true super couple isn’t always easy to duplicate– so ending Villy might be best at this time. The characters couple reunite one day should Mr. Miller ever return and the soap is still on.
LOL Frank, I too would like to see that!!
Sad to see Billy go, but we will see how David Tom does.
These two are my favorite pair on the show, along with Mike and Lauren. I don’t think anyone could ever do Billy as Billy Miller does .. he is amazing. BUT, with that said, he is too talented to stay stagnent in one show forever, so it is going to be good for him to seek other options, and come back later in years if he feels necessary to do so.
Meanwhile, the new Billy did a good job too, before leaving. As an adult, he has big shoes to fill because Billy Miller made this role his own, and he is phenominal at it.
All the best to Billy Miller, Amelia, and David.
Yes .. perfect timing for the Abbots to split up! THAT’S WHAT AMERICAN WANTS TO SEE!! (BS!) Another filed relationship (thanks to JFP! Is SHE really so miserable that she cannot leave the tried and try couples BE — Lauren and Michael have trouble–then CHEATING FOR GOD’S SAKE?!?!?! WhichNeither would EVER DO!!!) No drive Billy Miller out so she can wreck that marriage too! SONY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIRE THIS WOMAN NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYONE JOIN ME IN BOYCOTTING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY SO SONY AND CBA GET THE MESSAGE! WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH! JFP NEEDS TO GO! BRING OUR BILLY BACK!
I so agree with you, glad I quit watching after Dee Dee’s death, this show sucks!
Hate to hear that Billy is leaving. What a great actor he is, and he and Amelia were so good together.
sidebar: STAT!
I too…. wink, wink… would love to see Billy Miller in all his goodies
This couple: unlike, no other
epitomizes: your heartbeat… your love… your belonging… being with
unwavering, unflinching, undying betrothed…. I cry with, for, and am saddened that my complete serial is amiss
Amelia Heinle and Billy Miller: Victoria Newman and Billy Abbott
what a treat – I will miss these two
Loved Amelia and Billy M together from the beginng….always had carizma to the untenth degree…..will miss his beautiful smile. He has proven his great acting abilities with this Delia s/l. Will miss you Billy!
going to miss that S_ _ T Eating Grin….. love you Billy.
different linda than the previous one. I love Billy and Victoria together and hope to get used to the “old” new Billy again!
I quit watching after Jill Phelps decided to let Deliah die in the storyline. Writers at YR, suck.
Have not seen an episode since they killed Deliah. Have thought of going back but there is no reason to now, Billy Miller was the best thing about the show. David Tom was one of the worst and least likable soap actors ever.
Let me see…
1. Billy Miller (aka THE BEST Billy Abbott that Y&R has ever had!!!!!) is LEAVING Y&R…NOT GOOD AT ALL!!!!!
2. BOTH Michael and Fen are STILL locked up. FAST-FORWARDING BULL-CRAP!!!!!
3. Paul and Christine are happily re-married aka blah blah blah blah and who cares.
4. That ONE-DIMENSIONAL WHACK-JOB Hilary claiming that she wants a fresh start in life…what a crock and No Thank You. Next…
5. That chump-filled MORON Mason manipulating with Devon’s identity (or whatever)…VERY, VERY DUMB AS HELL!!!!!
6. Cane and Lily turning into a BORING-ASS married couple. Whatever.
7. Dylan now knowing that he is Nikki’s long-lost son. Trust me…MORE STUPIDITY is on the way with this one…
Bottom Line: CBS (aka THE NETWORK) needs to get their arrogant and air-headed heads out of their asses and FINALLY do something about the stupid and unnecessary DECLINE of Y&R…NOW!!!!!
So right you are! I have been watching this show for over 20 years and it is definitely in decline. What the hell is that stupid music box story line all about? Probably nothing because they write themselves into a box (ha ha) and can’t get out.
CBS smarten up and get some believable stories written into the Y&R
My favorite is and always will be Victoria and Billy (Miller). They are the only bright spot on the show. They have such great chemistry. I have been watching TYR for 20+ yrs. I don’t think David will have the chemistry that Billy has. I am sad, mad, angry for letting this talent leave. I met Jess (Jill) here in Oregon where I live and said I love Billy and she said “He is my son”. We all love you Billy, You are very special and I wish you much happiness. T Y R, will be sorry some day. They keep letting the best leave, and hire less than talented people we all know for a lower price. I guess Billy leaves and I will go back to Days. I left them for TYR many years ago.
I’m a huge admirer of Amelia, and love her portrayal of Victoria. It’s hard to imagine a Billy Miller-less pairing (and show). I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching rhe evolution of both the characters and the relationship – even during the many periods when Villy were separated over the years the unparalleled chemistry of those two actors made the journeys back together captivating. I’ll continue watching to see what the writers have in store for each of them. No matter what happens, AH and BM’s Villy has been so indelibly written and portrayed, they’ll always be one of my all time favourite fictional couples.
I was sad to see David Tom exit the role of Billy Abbott and no one could replace him until Billy Miller took over the role and he is wonderful. I am so sad to see him even though David Tom is coming back. Now its time to bring Mackenzie (Ashley Bashioum) back too.
I didn’t like David Tom when he was the first Billy Abbott so I’m not going to like him now that he’s recasting his role. He doesn’t have the personality of Billy Miller nor does he have the comedic ability.
I am so sorry to hear that Billy Miller is leaving y&r. He is by far the my favorite actor on the show. I have been watching the show for years and he is such a realistic character and did a great job with the death of Delia. The role of Billy Abott will not be the same without him. I will miss him!
Billy Miller is a great actor. I will miss him. After D’s death, I was still crying when tthe commercials came on. His portrayal as a grieving dad almost did me in. And now ……Amelia with another Billy……how much more can this Y&R fan take?
I am so sad and heart broken to see Billy Miller leave the show. I can’t imagine someone else playing the part. Why is it when you get use to someone and love watching them everyday they decide to leave? The show will not be the same without Billy Miller.
luv you Billy so sad to see you go no way to fill your shoes
I am very sad that Billy Miller leave the show. I watch Y& R during lunch with 5 co-workers we all love him. No one will be able to capture the chemistry that Amelia and Billy have….they are a fabulous couple we love watching them together. the story line should have been that after all they have been through their love kept them together and the finally would have their “own” baby. Y & R has made poor choices…..getting rid of Michael (Adam) also…..we will probably not watch……it’s getting out of hand. Not like it used to be…so very disappointed we all are.
I love amelia farewell to billy miller. Billy and Victoria will be added to the list of great beloved couples. Joining the likes of Luke and Laurel, Anna and Scorpio, Ricky and Lucy. I don’t understand why Y&R executives can’t leave couples together. There are quite a few couples, in real life who have been married 15, 25, 50 years. Y &R should sometimes resemble and
celebrate committed marriages like in real life. Y&R tackles other social issues like organ donation, cancer, blindness. I understand Y&R executives making changes but too many changes too soon like Ashley Abott, Phyllis Neuman, Genie Francis and Delia Abbott leaves the fans wondering if the executives truly have the Y&R actors best interest and storyline versus their own personal interests or agenda.
Billy Miller can never be replaced no matter how good David Tom will be. David Tom and Amelia won’t have the same charismatic chemistry that she had with Billy Miller! I, too wish the best to Billy Miller. I cant see why the Y&R executives couldn’t fight to keep Billy Miller (VICTORIA AND BILLY ABBOTT) together. What a shame….
not watching anymore -too many favorite actors either quit or fired -the writing is horrible. I’ve never watched a different soap opera but I heard one of the actors that was fired is moving to General Hospital -maybe Billy Miller will join that one as well. I will tune in to something new.
RIP Y and R
I am so sad that my two favorite actors,Billy Miller and Michael Muhney, are leaving the Young and the Restless. They are both so talented. The acting by both of them, especially in the last week, has been superb. These two men are truly gifted. I wish them both the best. They will be missed!
I have been watching this show since its conception and am very disappointed in the direction it is headed. This show will be hard pressed to continue its ratings if something does not change. Losing Billy Miller is such a loss for Y & R. He is such a great actor and was a huge asset to the show.
New Billie is so much younger looking. And isn’t his “wife” a character that was previously portrayed by his real life sister? This is not going to work. Billy is too young to be married to whoever Victoria is, and he’s also too young to fool around with a 40 ish year old kelly character.
As a very long time fan of Y&R and a personal friend of Jerry Douglas, I am very, very sad to see Miller leave. The chemistry between Billy and Victoria is palpable and now with the David Tom, I just don’t see it or feel it but not to say David is not a good actor he is but, I will extremely MISS Miller.
In addition, the chemistry of Miller and Douglas is real it will be interesting to see the chemistry between the two given the current story line… I would love to see John’s ghost appear with David.
JD is seriously MISSED!
Sorry to see Billy go.I really did not like David Tom the first time around and stopped watching for quite a few years. Then turned it on one day and low and behold there was Billy Miller playing Billy A. What a difference ,this actor brought Y&R back to where it belonged a top rated soap. However i do not like where it is going BORING.A lot of the older actors need to go out to pasture.Eric B. get rid of him,i have a gut feeling he is a trouble maker on and off the show. His character seems to get away with just about everything,Getting very redundant .Get his wife a new mate and stick with him.Love Jill ,pump up her character ,marry her off to Jack .I like Steve with his mate, leave them alone. Just having a little fun with you,its only a story on the telly. However I am still not watching till you fix the mess with your actors.i will be watching to to see where Billy Miller goes next with his acting.Hook Em Horns Billy ,..The eyes of Texas are upon you and OK.
Billy and Amelia were magic and that can’t be duplicated ever; it’s just not the same anymore with those two. Billy Miller, you are missed. Maybe one day you and Amelia can team up again. Truly one of Daytime greatest couple – Billy and Victoria Abbott.
I miss Billy Miller already I looked forward to see him on Y&R ! What show is he going to be on ?
I’ve watched Y&R from the very first show. No Mrs.Chancelor, No Phyliss, No Adam and NO BILLY MILLER = NO Y&R!!!!!
What have you done to our show???? I really do not think the show can survive all of this! The sad thing is that only one of these changes were out of your control…..
After 40 years of viewing the show, I stopped watching once Billy Miller was taken off and replaced by that untalented geek. I’ve never liked david tom nor his rotten acting. It was stupid to replace a good looking and TALENTED actor like Billy Miller with that worthless tom guy. People have been saying that the show was going downhill and they were right.

While Smitty tries to hold the fort down in his marriage to congressman Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon) and their two teenaged children, Samantha (Najah Jackson) and Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller) on Beyond the Gates, Emmy-winner Mike Manning has also landed another feature film role.
According to Deadline, Manning has joined the cast of Deify with 6 other new cast members for the indie psychological horror film starring Neal McDonough and Skeet Ulrich, which was previously announced last week.

Taking to his Instagram with the news of his casting, Manning shared, “A movie about a cult? What could possibly go wrong? Come for the enlightenment. Stay because they won’t let you leave. DEIFY is coming…”
The movie is currently shooting in Chicago and in story, “a cult leader is put on trial after causing his devoted followers to be burned alive. The film is inspired in part by events surrounding the 1993 Waco, Texas, standoff between members of the Branch Davidians church and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, one of the largest civilian firefights ever recorded on American soil.”
MIKE MANNING IS A DAYTIME EMMY NOMINEE
In addition, the multi-talented Manning is a producer on the feature. General Hospital
GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”
Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.”
So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.
Guiding Light
‘Guiding Light’s’ Grant Aleksander Shares Heartfelt Remembrance of TV Daughter, Hayden Panettiere On What Would Have Been Her 37th Birthday

The tragic death of Hayden Panettiere last Sunday on August 21 continues to rock the entertainment world as her passing is still under investigation. Sadly, the former Guiding Light and Nashville star, died just days before her 37th birthday.
Now Grant Aleksander who played her on-screen father, Phillip Spaulding on Guiding Light a role he played on and off for nearly 30 years, shared a touching tribute with The Locher Room via Instagram, to his former TV daughter on her birthday on Friday, August 21.
It was back in 1996-2000 that Panettiere played the role of Phillip and Beth’s (Beth Chamberlin) daughter, Lizzie Spaulding. When Hayden was on-screen her performances were outstanding even as a little girl.

Photo: CBS
Aleksander began, When I think of Hayden the first image that comes is of her running down the hall in the studio with a huge, toothy grin on her face. Literally bursting with joy. And that’s what she gave to us. Pure, infectious joy. That and a talent that belied her years.”
“She was a natural with an instinctive understanding of acting that most adult actors can only dream of possessing. But that’s not what I’ll remember most about her. It’s that sunshine she brought to all of us that were lucky enough to be in her orbit that will stay with me, expressed Grant.
He concluded with, “I’ll always cherish the years I got to be her tv Dad. I wish I could have seen her one more time just to tell her how proud I was of her. She’s left us way too soon. We can only hope that she’s finally found the peace that eluded her in her short life. Rest in peace Princess!”
Michael Fairman TV previously shared emotional tributes from many of Hayden’s co-stars here, plus Jonathan Jackson (ex-Lucky, GH and ex-Avery, Nashville) who wrote a beautiful tribute to his former co-star.
So, do you remember the scenes between a young Lizzie and Phillip on Guiding Light? What did you think of Grant Aleksander’s words? Let us know via the comment section below. Here’s just a sampling below, of how great Hayden was with her scene partner, Grant.
