Y&R's Billy Miller reaction to Daytime Emmy nomination!

The Young and the Restless Billy Miller (Billy Abbott) got a well-deserved Daytime Emmy Nomination for his portrayal of Billy Abbott this morning when the nominees for the 37th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were announced.    Miller had this to say on how he found out he made it to the final five in The Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series Category:

“I was asleep, soundly.  After a long night of, well “celebrating life,” I took the liberty of attempting to sleep in only to wake up to my agent’s call at 5:00 am.  I answered half asleep and assuring them that a.) I was not in jail  b.) I didn’t do anything more stupid than ordinary, and c.) whatever you heard, it wasn’t me.  Then of course they delivered the good news.  Very cool, must admit I am pleasantly surprised and very honored.

By 9 a.m. I found it odd my mom didn’t call, so I reached out to her.  She told me she didn’t think I got a nom because my name wasn’t announced in the a.m. broadcast.  So, I then delivered the news, at which time she said “THAT’S GREAT!  Goodbye, I have to brag to people now.”  Then she hung up on me.”

If it’s an Emmy for widest pectorals, then Miller would win. I think Thad Luckinbill is actually better than Miller. He’s definitely not your stereotypical Y&R actor: histrionic, showy, OTT and very “look at me! i’m acting!” He’s a quieter actor, and he was actually 1 of the few good parts in their heart transplant reel, til the dialogue and his acting got melodramatic in a part. Miller is one of the most overrated actors on Y&R. He’s too hammy, and he acts like it’s all a joke. He was awful in Y&R’s “best” show reel. And didn’t Miller “joke”… Read more »

Love Billy Miller, who cares about his personal life. He’s a well deserving actor who makes all of his moments on YR shine!
But what is a big shock..NOT! Is that that the most over rated, one note, air sucking , scenery chewing, Jazz hand flailing, stuttering, eye rolling, hair flinging actress, once again gets to shut out other more deserving leading ladies in daytime.

Michelle Stufford. Who the flips thinks this gawd awful woman has talent?

Interesting Knox. There are a few people on Confidential and goldderby that don’t like her acting as well.

What’s wrong with Billy’s personal life? I thought I read somewhere he had a girlfriend. Also what kind of mom hangs up on her hottie of a son with just a “That’s Great”? Are you kidding me?

Billy Miller has grown on me. When he first appeared on Y&R, I thought he was a little much, and over acting. But truth be known, he has everything going to make him a star. You can’t beat that cunning smile and his brashness, and because he is so good at it, he wins you over. He does have a good part, also, which helps a lot.It will be interesting to see how his dalliance with Victoria plays out. So, good luck at the Emmys, Mr. Miller…

Congrats you totally deserve this award and more! Billy Miller is the BEST thing that ever happened to y&r and they know it. LOL he said that he cheated on his past girlfriends? Sounds like he has a lot in common with his character lol, but I still love him to death.

‘The Talk’ Returns as Sheryl Underwood Shares the ‘Trauma’ She Feels Over Incident That Led to Sharon Osbourne’s Exit

CBS’ afternoon series The Talk finally returned to the air, following the departure of Sharon Osbourne and the tense moments that went down on the March 10th episode between her and Sheryl Underwood.

Monday afternoon, co-hosts: Sheryl Underwood, Elaine Welteroth, Amanda Kloots and Carrie Ann Inaba along with diversity and inclusion expert, Donald E. Grant, were on the episode.  Grant, served as the moderator as the women discussed what happened when Osbourne came at Underwood when defending Piers Morgan’s remarks about Meghan Markle, eventually prompting an extended internal investigation by CBS.

Photo: CBS

On today’s episode, Sheryl Underwood shared: “I didn’t want to escalate things with Sharon, because I thought I was having a conversation with a friend, but also, I knew I had to be an example for others to follow. I didn’t want to be perceived as that ‘angry Black woman’, and that really scared me. I didn’t want to be that and I wanted to remain calm and focused. It’s difficult to go back to that day because I just feel the trauma. I feel fearful, a little apprehensive.”

Elaine Welteroth added, “When you go back and watch what happened in that episode, you will see two Black women walking the same tightrope that Black women are walking every single day in the workplace.  As Sheryl said, we knew we had to stay composed in that situation, even in the face of someone who was A, not listening, and B, who went off the rails into disrespect when we were maintaining our respect within the context of this very complex, charged, emotional conversation.  There have been a lot of false narratives that have been spun in the aftermath of what happened on that episode…this is the first time that I have had the opportunity to speak. And I think it’s really important that we have the opportunity to say that the false accusations that are swirling in the press that frame Sheryl and I as some kind of, you know, people who attacked a woman on air, and were part of some sort of, you know, conspiracy, that is absolutely, categorically false.”

Photo: CBS

She later added, “I just want to acknowledge you, Sheryl, on air for how you handled the situation. I think it’s important for people to really know the strength and willpower it takes to maintain that kind of composure in that situation. And I think for me, I was just really entering that conversation with the hope of finding a common ground and I didn’t feel like I was heard.”

In addition, Underwood wanted to go on record stating that while she had received text messages from Osbourne, she hadn’t replied to them because she wasn’t sure she was supposed to during during an internal investigation. Osbourne had said that she sent texts to Underwood and had apologized for her actions.

Sheryl shared: “I have never been through something like this. I didn’t know whether you were supposed to communicate or not communicate.  I have not spoken to Sharon, I haven’t had a phone call from her, ” However, Underwood expressed that if a friend were to come up to her and greet her nicely, she would do that same, “When you’re friends with someone, you stay friends,” she said.

So, what did you think about the sentiments shared by Sheryl and Elaine during The Talk? Was this episode helpful in shining a lot on racism, and successful in dealing with what transpired on March 10th with Sharon Osbourne? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

Lynn Herring Celebrates 35th Anniversary of Her General Hospital Debut; and ‘We Love Lucy’

Today, April 11th marks the 35th anniversary of the debut of Lynn Herring on General Hospital as Lucy Coe.  And wow, when you look at the road this character has gone on played to the hilt by Herring, it has been one entertaining ride for GH fans along the way.

Lucy started out as a mousy librarian, if you can believe that! And of course, she eventually showed all that she was a bombshell.  She then became quite the schemer and seductress.

Along the way, Lucy was married to Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon), was involved with Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) and other men in Port Charles.

At one point, Herring took the character of Lucy to the now defunct Port Charles where she stayed from 1997-2003,

But this one time gold-digger eventually became the champion of the GH Nurses’ Ball and helped raise awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS research. Now, year after year, the one thing you can always look forward to is Herring’s hilarious antics and sincerity in her star turn as the emcee of the annual fundraising event.

On Sunday, the GH tweeted posted: “Lucy Coe knows everything about everyone in Port Charles and we would be lost without her. Please help us congratulate TheLynnHerring on the 35th Anniversary of her #GH debut”.

Lynn responded sharing: “Thank you! Have loved every @GeneralHospital  moment!”

Share your congratulations to Lynn via the comment section below, and let us know your favorite Lucy moment too!

All My Children Alum Cornelius Smith Jr. Joins the Cast of Apple TV+ Limited Series, ‘Five Days At Memorial’

Daytime fans remember him fondly as the son of Jesse (Darnell Williams) and Angie Hubbard (Debbi Morgan), Frankie, on All My Children.  And now, actor Cornelius Smith Jr., is set to join a major limited series based on the acclaimed nonfiction book by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Sheri Fink, about the the first five days following Hurricane Katrina made landfall entitled Five Days at Memorial.

Written by John Ridley and Carlton Cruse, Smith will play a doctor, (something he is very familiar with playing since Frankie Hubbard was a doctor in Pine Valley!) named Dr. Bryant King, an internist and one of the few doctors of color at the hospital, who finds himself very much in the middle of the crisis.  He will headline the show alongside Vera Farmiga and Adepero Oduye.

The series will stream on Apple TV+, and no word yet as to when it will have its debut following its filming.

Since his time on All My Children, Smith has appeared on ABC’s Scandal, and had recurring roles on God Friended MeSelf Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker and Manhunt.

Deadline broke the casting news.

So, looking forward to seeing Cornelius back on our screens? Do you remember his work as Dr. Frankie Hubbard on All My Children? Comment below.
