Y&R's Eric Braeden Reveals Shouting Match With Michael Muhney And That "He Wanted Me Off The Show!"

This morning Muhney-gate continues with a new explosive interview with Daytime Emmy winner and iconic star of The Young and the Restless Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) who played Michael Muhney’s on-screen father. Braeden decided to come forward after accusations that he had something to do with Muhney’s dismissal from the CBS soap opera in a just released chat with RadarOnline.com!
In it, Braeden details a shouting match that ensued between he and Muhney in the younger actor’s final days with the series and that Muhney wanted to push out of the show! Here are some excerpts below!
Eric on what went down between he and Muhney in their often contentious relationship, where Braeden first relays his respect for Muhney as an actor, and then says: “Towards the end, Muhney and I did have our differences and had a shouting match, no question. During that shouting match, all kinds of things were said. I won’t go into detail about it. I don’t remember the specifics of who said what but what I do recall is that I was prompted to get into ‘fisticuffs’ with him because he wanted me off the show, if you want to know the truth. That is about as far as I will go. That is it. It was a campaign to get me off the show. It was Muhney who wanted to get me off the show and he expressed that to various people. He wanted me off the show because he wanted to be head honcho. In his words, I was the old lion and he was the young lion. He wanted to push aside the old lion. That was in his words to me, at the very end. I welcomed that guy, as I said. (I told him), ‘You are very good at what you do, keep your nose clean and stay out of everyone else’s business and just do your job.’
Eric Braeden on the rumors that he told Hunter King (Summer) to go to the higher-ups at Y&R after the alleged incident involving her and Muhney: “I hardly know the girl. I just don’t know people’s names until they have been here for 10 years. She is a sweet girl and a damn good actress. The notion that Hunter King came to me and was coaxed by me to go to the top is utter nonsense. The rumor mill is being fed with misinformation, by whoever.”
So what do you think about Eric Braeden’s comments on Michael Muhney? And that another situation had reportedly arisen a co-star in Muhney that ended in a shouting match? Weigh-in!

‘General Hospital’ to Rebroadcast Special Episode in Tribute to Anthony Geary

This Labor Day, General Hospital will show an encore presentation of its touching tribute to the late Anthony Geary (Luke Spencer). The news came from ABC executive, Nathan Varni who shared the information across social media.
Varni expressed, “Save the date! ABC will encore our very special farewell tribute to Tony Geary this Labor Day, Monday, September 7.”
The episode was originally broadcast on February 20, 2026, and honored to the late eight-time Daytime Emmy winner, who sadly passed away on December 14, 2025 at the age of 78.

Photo: ABC
The tribute episode centered on Luke’s daughter Lulu (Alexa Havins) finally grieving the loss of her father after she had come out of a four-year long coma and never dealt with her grief on learning the news of his death.
WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE ON-SCREEN REMEMBRANCE OF LUKE SPENCER?
The other characters who remember their time with Luke who are included in the episode with many flashbacks were: Tracy (Jane Elliot), Sonny (Maurice Benard), Carly (Laura Wright), Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and of course, Laura (Genie Francis).
Behind the scenes, General Hospital wanted to pay tribute to its most iconic star, but since the character of Luke was killed-off in 2022 off-screen, after Geary retired, there wasn’t an easy creative route to go when Geary passed away in real-life. However, the writers did a commendable job with this special episode in tying in memories and remembrances of Luke through Lulu’s grief as a starting point.

THE LAST APPEARANCE OF TONY GEARY ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Anthony Geary exited General Hospital in 2015 after his record-setting eight Daytime Emmy Lead Actor wins for his work. He then moved to Amsterdam full-time to live with his husband, Claudio Gama.
Two years later, Geary made one final appearance on GH, when in 2017 he popped in the last scene of what was Jane Elliot’s then departure from the show when Tracy was reunited with Luke in Europe.
You can check out the original promo for the special episode “Remembering Luke Spencer” and the late Tony Geary from back in February of this year below.
Now let us know, will you be watching the Anthony Geary tribute again this coming Monday? Do you miss seeing the character of Luke Spencer in Port Charles? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Alimi Ballard’s Role Revealed as WSB Agent William Baines Who Oversees Jack Brennan Investigation

The Thursday, September 3 episode of General Hospital featured the debut of former Loving and The City actor, Alimi Ballard (ex-Frankie Hubbard).
Now some 30 years later, Ballard is back on ABC daytime, but this time as was revealed today, he is playing WSB agent William Baines who arrives in Port Charles to oversee the disappearance of Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna).
Here’s what went down; after Josslyn (Eden McCoy) reported Brennan missing to the WSB, agent William Baines met her at the Port Charles bureau office. It was there that Baines informed Josslyn he was taking over the search for Jack.
Josslyn kept trying to stay on the case telling Baines she had connections with many people in Jack’s inner circle in Port Charles. However, Baines instructed her to keep on her current assignment as CEO of JJE. When she questioned why implanting her at her father’s company was so important, Baines shared she needs to get inside intel on JJE’s subsidiary holdings. Once she does, she will be briefed on what comes next.
DREW FRAMES NINA
In addition, Baines wanted to be briefed on what Josslyn knows so far about the MIA Brennan. One theory from the WSB is that Jack skipped town because of how badly the Cold Fusion debacle went down on Spoon Island. Then, as Josslyn brought up how her mother Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) witnessed a public shouting match between Jack and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), Baines pulls out a photo of Nina from his folder.
As if things couldn’t get worse for Nina, Drew (Cameron Mathison) broke into her car, planted evidence of Jack’s wallet under the seat as retribution for her trying to kill Drew when she pushed him in his wheelchair into the lake at the boathouse. Drew snarled that “payback is bitch” as he sat in the driver’s seat of her car.
So, what are your initial thoughts on the arrival of WSB agent William Baines? Do you think he may wind up as Jack’s successor as the WSB Port Charles bureau chief ? What did you think of Drew framing Nina for Jack’s death? Share your thoughts via the comment section below. But first, check out the confrontation between Drew and Nina with Ava present.

Doesn’t surprise me. MM seems pretty full of himself.
Both.. EB and MM are full of themselves, no wonder they cab not get along, they are 2 peas in the pod..
They do not and will not get along, so Michael was the one that had to go..
It finally came down to blows ((I would have loved to see that!!!!
totally. can’t see these two ever getting along with such strong egos.
Indeed. I wish he could have EB’s humility, modesty and generosity of spirit.
(cough, cough!)
Looks like the message here is Don’t Mess With GRAMBO. Forget that he never follows a script and changes the dialogue when the camera is rolling. Heil Hitler!
I think Muhney has been railroaded. He may very well be an asshole, but after reading things Braeden says, that market has far from been cornered.
Actors are notorious ego maniacs and from what Ive read about the cast of Y&R, theres no shortage.
I think Hunter King is being used as a scapegoat and in the end this will hurt her more than Muhney.
If he assulted a female castmember, it should have been investigated by the authorities. Noone should lose their job based solely on allegation. a complaintant should also not be able to make the demand, “either I go to the authorities or he is fired”. Nothing has been proven.
Logic says they had an investigation. I doubt very much they based his firing on mere allegations. MM shot himself in the foot with his arrogance. I doubt this was the only incident that led to his firing. Mr. “This is the year of Adam” went off on twitter regularly with his mouth, made passive aggressive retractions when he got backlash, then played the bullied victim to manipulate his fan base. If he shot off his mouth on twitter I have little doubt he did the same at work. Eric is arrogant himself but he is one of the faces of this show. I don’t see any railroading here. I see an actor who allowed his arrogance to cost him another job. MM is a fool because he has children that rely on him. Their needs should have come before his arrogance.
Eric Braeden is a known bully & egomaniac. He lies constantly. Everybody knows he got Muhney fired. The wrong guy left the show.
I will say that this isn’t the first time we’ve heard talk of MM and rumours of harassment and bullying. I remember a couple of years ago that there was some dust up about him possibly being let go or leaving and that he was not the most congenial and cooperative person on the set. Final thoughts are that it’s kind of hard to ignore the charges when the cast is standing behind Hunter King. I would think there’d be some serious outrage if it was all invented, and that the MM crowd is only making themselves look like the worst of the worst in fandom by attacking HK. Just my two cents’ worth.
Why would two grown men fight over something neither one had the power to sway? Decisions about story lines and which characters stay or go are with the EP and the HW, not with the actors. Some viewers have been campaigning for years to get EB off the show, if he met them on the street would pick a fight with them too?
With egos that big it is surprising either of them can fit through a door—- unfortunately we cannot pick our co-workers, or maybe EB can— it sounds all very silly to me. Ogden Nash was correct when he said ” You are only young once but, you can stay immature indefinitely.”
Love that quote, Mary. It’s applicable to so many people.
And i doubt anyone would fly a banner over the studio for Eric Braeden…who do i believe…cant say…why…because i wasnt there!
I always LOVE how candid and BS-free Eric Braeden is in his interviews!
He does make me laugh, I will give you that. And we could use the levity right now.
I agree, Eric tells it like it is.
Sounds like the whole story will never be told to everyone’s satisfaction. Each person has a different on why MM was fired. Cast and crew of Y&R should leave it alone. The damage to everyone involved has already been done.
Leave it be.
Lawyers for HK, MM, CBS has told them to not speak at this time
So true @Susan. Now that suddenly all these cast members are speaking up on the monster that is MM something suddenly seems seriously fishy. He groped me. He wanted to punch me. He’s a douche!!! I’m over it . The truth will come out when all the newsoutlets cover the lawsuit coming to Sony/Cbs. I’d be livid if I were him and i’m sure he is and can’t comment. When ratings plunge the Phelps will be OUT!!!!
I’m a major MM fan and wish he would be brought back, however, from what I’ve seen on FB and Twitter, the fans are driving the cast members insane with comments, rude harassing comments, it is absolutely crazy INSANE how horrible people are talking to these actors. I don’t blame them one bit for commenting back to them, not one bit. There’s only so much a person can take. I was raised to treat people the way I’d like to be treated, and “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all” and these people obviously weren’t raised that way, or forgot the rules. I’ve read the rudest, most hateful things in the world. Daniel Goddard can post a picture of his son, and someone will write a 300 word essay about Michael Muhney. LOL It’s crazy. I’m just using that as an example. I know there is more to the story than what WE know, and those actors probably know the truth. MM is an outstanding actor. I love everyone on Y&R and hope that this will die down soon, the fans need to let it go. I don’t think they are going to let us know what happened anytime soon, anyway.
The show has been damaged-maybe beyond repair-by bad writing and very bad management.Jill Phelps
and Jean Passanante are incompetent hacks who have destroyed more daytime dramas than are currently extant.Heartbreaking to see Bill Bell’s once great creation the unintelligible, unwatchable mess to which it has been reduced.Michael Muhney is,arguably, the best actor recently working in daytime.Eric Braeden is an over-paid,over-the-hill blowhard.
1st
Eric Braeden is the Y&R..
Sony/CBS will do anything to keep Eric..
Eric and Brandon fight.. this time it turned into to a fist fight. They can not work together.
To keep Eric Braeden happy Michel had to go.
The two no longer could work together, so Micheal was out..
CBS had to get rid of Michael.
what ever happened between HK and MM, if anything, was minor in comparison to EB and MM ..
MM was let go because of Eric Braeden , if it had been because of HK he would have been gone that day and charges brought.
something may have happened between HK and MM, but it was nothing to fire MM over, but a fist fight with MM and EB, Micheal would be gone.
Eric Braeden is king of Y&R and he knows it, with out him the Y&R would crash and burn, he knows that and Sony/CBS knows that..
I had said many times, it had to do with Eric Braeden , and it was.
We really don’t know that since we weren’t there
I had already had enough of EB as Victor and have FF thru his scenes for a long time, but the firing of MM has effectively ended my watching Y&R. This interview just sealed the deal for me. Portraying an obnoxious, boorish character is fine, being one in real life, publicly, is just sad. No class, EB. Maybe he should keep this old saying in mind in the future: “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.”
I just don’t understnd this blind loyalty to MM. I know Eb has had runs ins with co workers in the past and has owned up to it, and I can repect him for that. But what does EB gain by lying about MM? Nothing. Obviously something happend for him to be terminated.
Y&r seems more intersting offscreen then on how pathetic !!
Fisticuffs? Does Braeden not realize he’s 100 years old?? What is wrong with him? First, Peter Bergman, now Michael Muhney. This man has a reputation for not getting along with costars. The old gnome is always threatening to beat someone up. Do your token scenes and then take a nap in your dressing room, Eric B… you heydey was in the mid 1980s.
What is amusing about this is up until 2012 their was not a problem in fact when EB took off for a while over contract negotiations SC & MM were strong supporters. It started when SC was so upset about the romantic pairing of her and EB and she displayed her anxiety on twitter and EB got mad and MM took up for her. Everyone sure has short memories but I do not! As long as things are going his way he is fine truly selfish person.
I dunno–the idea of EB being bullied by anyone is rather an amusing thought. These behind the scene glimpses are far more interesting than Y&R is right now. This is the ultimate play within the play.
I’d like to hear Eric recite Dylan Thomas’s poem, “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night. I am sure he would bellow out every line. “RAGE! RAGE! AGAINST THE DYING OF THE LIGHT!”
Ha! I just caught something funny. Eric says of Hunter King,”I hardly know the girl. I just don’t know people’s names until they’ve been here for ten years.” Even when he’s defending himself, he shoots himself in the foot.
I can’t help it, gotta love EB.
Sounds like EB is joking. Sheesh!
He wasn’t joking,-read the blog above in context.
With all due respect mr braeden the actresses name is hunter king and for the past two weeks she has been vilified in social media. Muhney has also been mauled by all for apparently sexual harassing and bullying this actress. Muhney had enough class and respect not to throw u under the bus and did in fact blame the sacking on himself. I will stop watching y&r not because mm has left the building but because there are some people in that building that have no morals or ethics.
I think the building is full of people with morals in class, no disrespect to your opinion. I’ve read countless Twitter messages and Facebook posts that fans have left to cast members of Y&R from Michael Muhney fans just hateful, rude, harassing remarks, and it has to be driving them crazy. I know they are getting them way beyond what I am seeing, 24/7. I am a huge Michael Muhney fan. I love him as Adam and cannot imagine anyone else playing Adam. It’s unfair to see someone take over the role, too. However, what the cast members are enduring is unfair to them, and the fans need to stop with the nonsense. If I were in their place and being bombarded with such foolishness all the time, it would make me angry enough to reply, too. I’m FB friends with some of the cast, and follow some of them, and follow all of them on Twitter and Instagram that have accounts, and it’s borderline insanity. I am amazed that they don’t stop with social media altogether. Y&R is a great show with a great cast, and they have to be ready to pull their hair out with all the disrespect over this, and it’s not THEIR fault. I’m sure if they could go back and have a do-over, things would be better for us all. I don’t think this is a conspiracy against Michael Muhney, I think something, whatever it is, did happen, and that’s why he was fired. Maybe HK was involved, maybe not, but I think the rumor mill is a feeding frenzy and out of control. I’ve read some crazy stuff about it. It’s a completely sad situation all the way around. Whoever leaked the story, if it is true, I hope they find them and fire them. I read that HK was trying to avoid the scandal by not having him arrested (avoid it by not bringing attention to herself or him). Not everything I read is true, I know that. If that is true though, and someone has leaked it, look at the trouble they’ve caused for both parties and the show!!!! What a trouble maker indeed! We should not give that person the satisfaction. It’s basically ruining everyone’s reputation in some way or another. So sad.
What EB is saying remind me a lot of his encounter with PB,If you listen to rumor and allegation EB is said to have the biggest ego at Y&R and huff and puff his chest making all type of demand and get his way.
Yes and when the situation went down with PB according to Jeanne Coopers book PB was the one they almost let go and he wasn’t the one who attacked anyone, Jeanne says she intervened with Bill Bell and told him that was not fair. Everyone knows he EB has to have the last word. He said he did not want to hear MM’s drivel well I am tired of hearing his.
EB owns Y&R and he knows it..
What EB wants EB gets, from Sony/CBS
EB could paint the sets black and Sonny/CBS would work around it..
Well, Eric seems to have a high opinion of himself. I do think when Eric was let go or something before, he seemed to not like that MM didn’t have his back. I can’t read the article because there’s so right scroll bar. Will try later. Too bad they didn’t have the camera rolling for this drama. Very sad all the way around. And how rude that Eric doesn’t learn his co-workers’ names until they’ve been there for 10 years.
Sounds like MM leaving had more to do with EB than anything that had anything to do with HK.
I have always thought/believed that..
and seems to be more true than false..
EB seems so sophisticated, kind, and amiable. Until he opens his mouth and speaks.
Very bored with this entire scandal. Time to move on.
Eric has a huge ego. It’s apparent in all of his interviews. I would want him off a show I were on, too. Just based on everything I’ve read from him and every interview he’s done. He seems as if he’s *entitled* to what he has, and anyone who hasn’t worked like him doesn’t deserve the recognition. But that is also due to his upbringing. Just be more humble Mr. Mumbles!
“be more humble Mr. Mumbles!” LMAO!!!!!
Spot on!
The more these people step forward to defend Muhney’s firing, the more I smell a rat and it isn’t necessarily Muhney. There is NO excuse for sexual harassment. If the allegations were found to be true after complete investigation, termination was absolutely appropriate. But, there is also no reason to publicly comment on internal personnel matters. That is private information between the employees involved and their employer.
Maybe they need to do a corresponding behind the scenes reality version of Y&R. The drama sounds so much more intriguing. Having said that (with sarcasm, of course), I will say yet again that no one really knows what happened, and I’m not quite sure it’s any of our business, EXCEPT when it gets to the point that uninformed so-called fans are harassing young innocents like Ms. King, and I commend Mr. Fairman for taking a stand himself against personal attacks. As for me, I’m much more concerned about what happens on screen. There is some outstanding acting and production going on, but there has been a decline in overall writing quality and show direction. I am excited, though, about Mr. Tom’s return as Billy, but it dashes my longstanding hope for a Heather Tom return, since the characters are married. Another hope I have is that Ashley Bashioum would return as Mac and reunite with Billy. I also enjoyed Chris Engen in the role of Adam, and maybe he would consider a return. If not, I agree a name like Trevor St. John or John Brotherton would be excellent recasts. I miss Phyllis so much, and I wish she would return to her soulmate, Nick.
soulmate…too funny.
MM and EB really sound like a couple of first class Primadonnas – fist fights, trying to get each other fired, do they think they really are Adam and Victor Newman? – This interview really didn’t help anybody and makes both MM and EB look bad – why doesn’t everybody follow PB’s example and keep their mouths shut – is he the only adult in the room over there? – it seems like every time the story dies down somebody kicks the hornet’s nest again – do they want this scandal to go on as long as one of Y&R’s story lines?
This keeps getting weirder every day. I wonder what REALLY happened??
wow michael was a trouble maker, with a huge ego. what a pathetic jerk, he deserved to be fired. eric braeden , i love he is straight to the point. dont mess with eric or victor newman, because michael you are a punk alright. lol.
All this trouble you mention was mainly between EB and MM for years.. No others cared to be involved, I’d guess..
MM was the only with balls to stand up to EB..
the trouble some talk about were the two, not the whole cast and most likely not anyone else from the cast, just the two….
MM had problems with other cast members and others in the industry. There is a reason he is not well liked. He did not support his two fellow Y&R nominees for lead actor this past year, and stated an actor on GH deserved the award. Last year on emmy night he called Tony Geary an old man and resented his win. He has gone on about how Adam is the new Victor, bragging how he was working almost every day, and how this if the year of Adam. He retweeted a nasty message from none other than Nelson Branco about two of his co stars on Twitter in November because they had the nerve to congratulate other actors for doing good work on the Delia story but did not mention him. In the summer of 2012 he complained of not working enough because of too many in the cast and prior to that asked fans to list ten characters they felt should be let go from the show. All very unprofessional. If he had problems on the set all he has to do is look in the mirror to see who brought him down. I would almost feel sorry for him because I don’t think he gets that he is the one hurting himself but he never seems to learn from his repeated mistakes.
I’m team Mr. Braeden all the way…..
Well the old lion, EB came out the winner, he did win. BUT the show is the loser. His days of huffing and puffing, Pat, should have ended before this. MM was the future with Billy Miller. Let’s see new actors replace those two, and how long and painful that will transition be.
Some fools made idiotic decisions by not designating and nurturing the MM and BM as franchise actors.
If those guys would have been treated and paid as the stars and future, things may have played out differently.
Yes, for sure EB was a big part of the past, just like Jeannie, Michelle, and Peter, were equal contributors. I didn’t see EB as the sole star. It was other storylines and people loving other actors which has really propelled the show. The past couple years Muhney, Miller and Bergman were the male stars.
EB is NOT THE FUTURE of the show, sure he wants to remain in that position of power and big bucks.
However, MM has more raw, natural talent than EB, and lives in a society based on forgiveness (right Eric) and hopefully a short memory. If MM did actually do something foolish regarding HK, he’ll pay to a certain degree. He is already paying.
I am sick of Victor. His contribution is minimal.
EB is hurting this show and needs to be shown the door.
absolutely, LOVE your post
especially, paragraph 2
which speaks volumes in behind the scenes…
everything about Y&R production… is suspect
Hi Michael Fairman,
Can you create a poll on these various topics and issues?
That would be great to see.
Thanks,
jo
If EB is Y&R, he should have the sense to demand better scripts and storylines! Victor has turned into a joke. No wonder he doesn’t really have trouble memorizing lines since he’s repeating the same damn lines every episode.
Anyone who’s followed the tweets of both EB and MM knows that EB had quite a lot of nasty things to say about MM this past year, saying he couldn’t act, wasn’t professional and so forth and it all boiled down to something that a fan had tweeted that she had stated MM said about EB. EB apologized, and MM was quite a gentleman during the whole thing, never saying anything bad about EB nor rising to the bait of the (seriously) nasty things EB was tweeting.
EB has a history of being difficult to work with on the set. Anyone happen to remember his infamous pounding of Peter Bergman? That feud went on for several years, but it never resulted in PB nor EB being fired.
Again, something more is going on here, and it’s not that EB has a poor opinion of MM. Considering just a couple months ago he was singing MM’s praises as an actor and co-worker, I don’t know how he can change his mind so quickly…Oh, that’s right … he’s still on contract with CBS…
OMG… Ya know what, I AGREE WITH MICHAEL!!! He’s younger, better and has lasting ability – MICHAELS AMAZING!! Eric Braydaen your arrogant & its been coming off on screen for a while, your scenes make me cringe & im sick of it. Maybe you & TPTB should realize that Michael SHOULD be the next Matriarch of the show, he’s “got it” probably better then you (if he’d stay). Out with the old, in with the new!!! So if this is the “scheme” if this is why this all is happening, listen up Y&R… I’d rather watch Michael Muhney vs Eric Brayden ANYDAY!!! Fire EB or tell his to suck it up & deal with it & bring Michael back (cause he’s right) he IS the new Shinning Star! Also, I have to say, I’m truly just as upset about losing Billy Muller, Y&R should have done EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to keep him, NOT looking foward to Tom reprising the role at all… BM became Billy on our screen and in our hearts forever! When did Y&R get so stupid? Oh, right.. When the hired Jill Farren Phelps!!!!!!!
That would be PATRIARCH. Katherine Chancellor was the matriarch of the show.
Oh.. Whatever. You know what I meant, my bad for typing quick
Well, given his monthly mood swings, bouts of anger and hot flashes, I can see why Nikki called Victor a matriarch. It’s better than calling him a dominant bitch I guess.
The show has never been about one character this is what is driving me crazy it is an ensemble that makes it work. Gosh MacDonald Carey/DOOL knew that and he was a motion picture star before they brought him to DOOL. EB just had to get in on the action.
I still believe there is a lot more to this than just the rumor about Hunter. Nobody disputes what a great actor Michael Muhney is and he was fast becoming the star of the show. This had to rub some of the older actors the wrong way. Whatever happened, they’ve lost a great actor which I’m sure they will soon regret!
What Eric Braeden has failed to take from this crisis is the confirmation of everything that Michael Muhney was saying, that the fans see MM as the new King of GC & that it is time for EB to be phased out. It must be difficult for the man who has been the biggest draw card for Y&R for 30 years to see his star waning & the emergence of not only the next big star, but the character that was destined to take his place. Bad decision to keep the old dog on.
@vicsze I agree 100% and have been wondering for a long time now when EB was finally going to retire. JMO, but I am tired of the character of Victor always winning against everyone. Victor just huffs and puffs and throws his weight around. It’s always the same old thing and I find it boring. I much prefer Jack and loved that Jack was more of a father figure to Adam then Victor ever thought of being. Even after Adam took a bullet to save Victor it wasn’t enough. I love PB as Jack and prefer his acting over EB. PB moves me in ways that EB no longer does. EB has had many great years and in the past I did enjoy his acting, but I think it was time for him to make room for new blood and MM (Adam) was the right person for the job. I am only watching until January 30th when both MM and BM make their last screen appearances and then this long time viewer will say goodbye to the show. IMO it was a bad decision to not allow BM the freedom to do other work and so he decided to leave. Then the firing of MM was the last straw for me. This show is not the great show that I grew up watching. We lost some very good actors in 2013 and I find the writing all over the place and frankly boring. The only days I enjoy are the days that MM is on my screen. He is an amazing actor. Unless I hear that they have come to their senses and bring MM back if he is still interested then goodbye Y&R. I gave 30 plus years to you, but from now on I will be giving my support to DOOL and GH which I already started watching about a year ago.
Totally agree… Peter B is much more enjoyable to watch. I still love him even though he’s one of the older cast members. I just can’t stand EB anymore on my screen & if he had anything to do with this, due to his ego.. Y&R better wise up and read what we FANS are writing because they made a mistake if it was between MM & EB for sure. The truth will eventually come out, and if its NOT what there making it to be then they should fire EB & bring back MM ( they should fire anyone who has a problem with MM becoming the star of the show for that matter)! MM is the future, and to me, he has bragging rights because he has defiantely added something to this show, he deserves to be there. I’m not willing to give up on him – innocent till truly proven in my eyes. Something’s off here!
I heart Peter Bergman and he is almost ageless. He’s a real sweet heart in real life. He was a dear friend to James Mitchell (Palmer Courtland from AMC) and wrote a really loving tribute to him when he died.
I met Bergman at a charity fundraiser long ago, and he is genuine and sweet in real life. I also know that life is imitating art with his friendship and mentoring of Michael Muhney. I am sure he is greatly saddened by recent events.
PS> I also think Bergman is a great actor who sure deserves better storylines. Just once can Jack get the better of Victor in both areas of business and romance? JUST ONCE!! Jack is to Victor as is Lucy to Charlie Brown and the disappearing football.
PB is twice the man that EB is. EB coasts by on the show mumbling his lines & “well I’ll be damned” thrown in a few times a week. He is boring & predictable & I am sick to death of watching him.
Wow! The backstage drama of this show sounds more dramatic than many shows!
There are millions of us who want Eric Braeden and his horrid undead Mr. Mumbles character off the show.
If THIS was Muhney’s only indiscretion then I’d be behind him 100% – or anyone else with the courage to tell that decrepit untalented old windbag to STFU.
Y&R would win me back as a viewer if they had a “buried alive” storyline, with Victor six feet under and Nikki too drunk to dig him up – Nick being too stupid to do it and poor Victoria unable to find the grave because she’s confused by her hair.
Poor Y&R really stinks these days and Eric Braeden and his ego aren’t helping – and never have.
Eric is lying! I mean really? Michael wanted to be the head honcho I don’t believe that at all, maybe Eric was threatened by him and he was the cause of Michael being fired along with Hunter….so sick of Eric running the damn show he is an employee he’s not the boss they give him way to much power.
I read an interview (maybe it was Fairman, it was while ago) with Eric Roberts, who was appearing as an attorney at the time, in which he said that the nicest, most approachable and generous actor on the set, was Michael Muhney. Roberts said he was nervous coming back to the acting field after taking so much time off due to his addictions, and he said Muhney knew that and went out of his way to make him feel confident, relaxed and mostly, welcome. He said everyone was nice but Muhney was the only one he mentioned by name.
Harry…AGREED!!!!! I think that Peter Bergman is truly A CLASS ACT all the way!!!!! I’ve always thought so. Classy…something that Eric Braeden will NEVER be. No.
Harry…in your post from yesterday, I LOVED your PEANUTS reference!!!!! I had to laugh…LOL!!!!! Yep.
Spank you, Jaybird (damn auto correct).
People ! EB doesnt own the damm show! The fans do!! I think the writting of the show it is totally ridicules, luck of imagination ,who ever should go, the story lines are everywhere, most of the young actors sucks!,the only decent one older was mss cooper (RIP) ,just mark my words. R&Y will be the next soap cancel, the good ones are either leaving or getting fired!…what does it tell you …EB its only one man !to ruin a man life over egomits despicable !!! This its another fan ign off Y&R …
Everyone needs to come out and say what they think about MM. That’s the only way to put an end to this.
That Eric Braeden interview was nothing but a bunch of self-righteous and self-serving BULLSHIT. And, EB himself is nothing but an arrogant, bullying and over-the-hill BLOWHARD!!!!! INSUFFERABLE JACKASS!!!!!
I love your rant, Jaybird and the comedic irony is that you delivered it Victor Newman style.
Harry…thanks, dude.
EB should just keep quiet. This interview did him no favors. Reading this makes me side with MM! I mostly FF through Victor’s scenes these days, but rarely FF through Adam’s scenes. I think it would be in Y&R’s best interest if everyone just shut up and let this story die down.
I read an article that said when the EB/PB fight happened years ago, EB wanted PB fired. It was Jeanne Cooper who went to Bill Bell to say that it would not be fair for PB alone to be fired – that if anything, they should either both be kept on the show or both be fired. Needless to say, they stayed.
There’s def more to this story and I’m sure the network and all parties involved never thought that the backlash over the MM firing would be what it is. I don’t agree with the hateful nature of ANY of the nasty comments – I mean, really, we’re adults people – and obviously we DON’T know all of what really happened. There are always two sides to every story and somewhere in the middle lies the truth. EB didn’t help himself in the interview – I mean, really…you don’t know actors names until they’ve been on the show for 10 years?? That just screams arrogant ass!!
Idk if any of you are on twitter BUT Kristiff St. John is saying things without “saying” them Like “you were all deceived” and then he has @hunterking “tell the truth”. Hummm, How ironic that This EB article just came out basing MM (jealous much). IMO it Sounds like EBs ego is bigger then the show.. maybe he’s behind this whole thing. Seems like KSJ is saying this was all a set up. But he’s not saying it outright.. YET! This is crazy & if this was all a plan… They should fix it.. Get rid of EB and bring back MM to save the show & keep the fans that are standing behind MM. Get rid of JFP too please, non of this probably ever would have happened if she didn’t touch our show. I’m so annoyed with Y&R don’t even want to watch. Posts on twitter are also saying fans wish the rest of the Cast would be quiet w comments – cause now fans are looking at them different & feeling disgusted. This stinks!
Braeden’s ego is about the size of the Goodyear blimp. I can’t imagine having to work with this arse day-in and day-out. He reads his lines on his phone all of the time, you can tell it. He says he ad libs, but we all know he goes off script constantly. I’m sure Muhney could only take so much after being crapped on too. Every conflict has two sides. If Bill Bell Sr had been there, this would have never been an issue. He would have stepped in and fixed it. Y&R is a shadow of itself. Once proud, now just loud.
Braeden should have retired three years ago.
Since I have commented about the great Mr. Eric Braeden many time over the past few years on your site, you most likely know how I feel about him! In my opinion Eric Braeden is a man of impeccable integrity, I believe in him and in his complete honesty! What he said in this interview, I believe to be utterly true! I have No comment about Mr. Muhney!
Impeccable integrity…are you kidding me??? HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Anyway…I don’t think so. No.
Sounds like Eric should go. everyone is tired of him. he also has mistreated Peter Bergman and no telling who else. if I was in the cast, I would keep my distance from him. he needs to be replaced immediately. I always thought it was a family show, but now they have so much baggage in the cast, even gays. they need The Lord and the Bible.
